| | Second-Seventh Year Carriages
While the firsties head off down the street toward the boats, the second years and up head the opposite direction. Just a hop off the platform, a short walk down a forest path, and you see the long line of carriages waiting for the students.
They appear to be pulled by ... nothing, but those who know history or tragedy know what's tugging the carriages along. Four per cabin, please, and do remain seated the entire ride. |

One final step closer to the castle and warmth and food. The final step at that. Gideon wondered briefly if either of the others had opted on joining him, his eyes having already fell on an empty carriage that could surely carry them as he headed that way. Reaching said carriage, he climbed up aboard to hold their place, glancing back for sight of the blonde girl and the Slytherin.
Surely just Genevieve was fine but he would be polite to the captain to be a bigger person.

It was too much work to find a carriage with her friends or a familiar face or anything, so this one would have to due while she caught her breath. "You can't see them though, on account of them being invisible to anyone who hasn't seen a death and all." She paused to get comfortable. "I haven't seen any deaths though, so I can't see 'em either." "Oh Thestrals, so that's what's pulling them. Ya, I haven't seen death either". Olivia said, leaning back on the railing. Quote:

She looked a bit flustered "sorry for butting in like that, it was a bit rude. I am Sarah by the way. And you are Isidora? We met at the ice cream parlour."
Sarah turned to the other girl, "Hello, I am Sarah, second year like Isidora, I don't think we've met" Olivia didn't think Sarah was butting in, Olivia giggled to herself "I'm Olivia"she said brightly, smiling and the second years. Quote:

She smiled anyway and tried to make some room for the girl. Kinda hard with all the luggage though. "What do ya think happened back there? With the train stopping and all?" Dora was still trying to figure it out. "That was wierd, they might have stopped to let someone on or off"Olivia thought, she really had no clue what was going on though and it was only a guess. Sarah slipped into the space her friend made for her "I think the train stopped, it was not a mechanical fault, as i am sure the train is run through magic. That means it must have broken down through magic. Maybe it was dark magic or something. It was strange as I apparently heard that there was BoG members on board with us... do you think it was staged?" Sarah asked, her voice dropping lower for the last part. "Ya, I'm sure the train was stopped on purpose and not by a mechanical fault" Olivia reaplied, nodding her head. It didn't seem right that the train would stop due to a magical fault either "It was probably cause of the BoG members, why do you think they were here?"

"Same," she answered, being snapped back to attention by his question. Though she'd be fifteen in December. "What month is your birthday?" she asked, not meaning to pry. It seemed like she was usually older than most of people in her year by a few months.
Until he'd asked the question, Micha had tried not to think about it. She shrugged. "I suppose. It's very different from where I went before. There weren't nearly as many people." She was already homesick... just not for her home in England. She still hadn't quite gotten over the move, though they'd only been there for about a week. They hadn't even completely unpacked before she left.
The thought paining her, Micha resumed gazing at the people through their little compartment window. "May." he answered. He was sitting across from her in the compartment. As the train was fully boarded and began moving they were not joined by anyone. Ace could deal. "Was it a small school or is it just the fact that this one is huge?" Reasonable question, since he himself went to a small school before Hogwarts. The amount of students was often commented on whenever he mentioned where he studied.
As the train travelled on, Ace kept making conversation with Micha, discovering small details about her and giving a few of his own in exchange. When they began nearing Hogsmeade, the both of them were more or less acquainted. It was a given at that point that they would stay together for as long as they could so as to avoid the unfortunate situation of having to navigate where to go alone.
At Hogsmeade, the train made a sudden lurch and came to a violent and abrupt stop. Against his control, Ace went flying toward Micha. "Sorry, that really wasn't in my control." he said, getting back his composure. He looked out the window to see what was going on. "The train broke down." he announced to Micha.
Looking back at her he added as an afterthought, "Are you alright?" He looked at her curiously, "We should probably grab our stuff and go see what we are supposed to do."
Outside of the train and after being portkeyed to the carriages, Ace got into the carriage with Micha. "So, we're in the same year. What are the chances we're in the same house?"
