Tristan strode into the now very familiar classroom and immediately removed his overcoat, placing it on the back of the chair. It was cold out there, but on the fifth floor of the castle, it was kept well heated.
Once ensuring the room was as he left it, he opened the door for his students and awaited their impending arrival.

So...another lesson. Hopefully by now Penelope had grown used to this professor's accent and would be able to understand what was going on...? Hopefully being the key word. And if not, then hopefully she could find someone to partner with and copy notes from.
She entered the classroom and...was she the first one here?
Weird.
"Hi, Professor," she greeted him before quickly finding a place to sit. Hopefully more students would show up soon because she didn't really like being early. It was strange.

Emmaleigh practically ran up all the stairs just to get to Ancient Runes. She wasn't running late, she was just excited for one of her favorite classes. Slowing down as she neared the classroom, Em allowed her breathing to return to normalish before entering the room. There was only one other student present at the moment. Well, at least she wasn't the only one early and excited for class. “Hi.” she said to the other girl in the room, as she sat her stuff on a desk, and then made her way up to the professor. “Hi professor,” she said smiling politely. “I was wondering if I could talk to you some time about University and Rune studies and stuff.”

Anya entered the classroom with a wide smile. Why was she so happy? Milton volunteered to carry her things to class. Seriously. How was one not happy about that?!
"Hello Professor." she said with a little wave upon entering. Yup. She was in such a good mood, she wasn't even dreading the lesson or the accent.
She looked around the classroom before heading to the back corner and slipping into one of the seats. She got comfortable and crossed her legs. As she did this, a heart shaped pendant slipped out from it's spot tucked into the side of her shoe. She quickly tucked that back into place and flashed Milton a little half-smile. Yeah... she was wearing his present...

Kat walked by the corridor to the Ancient Runes classroom. She can hear her footsteps because her shoes were clicking on the forlorn way to the classroom. Probably not many students were there yet. A new lesson they were going to have with Professor Christiansen's accent. Kat used to have a major problem with that, but now she can understand simple words and phrases. Like the 'w' in every word is 'v'.
When the blonde arrived at the door, Kat plastered a smile on her face. "Hello, Professor Christiansen," she greeted. She walked to her usual seat and sat down. She waited with the others as more students arrive. The feeling of being early...

Milton was happy, yes, but he felt like his arms were going to fall off. He was also muscley, yes, but trudging up five flights of stairs with lots of books was a hard thing to do. PLUS, he had Anya's books too. So he had an excuse.
"Hey Professor," he said coolly, following Anya inside the class room. As soon as Anya picked a seat, Milton dropped their books on the desk with a loud BOOM and flopped onto the seat next to her. "Never again."
A shimmer caught his attention out of the corner of his eye and he looked down to see Anya wearing an anklet. Except... That wasn't an anklet, that was the necklace he had given her for Valentine's day. "You do realize necklaces are meant to be worn on your neck, right?" Just saying.
Cora skipped into the classroom, humming to herself. She was excited for class, and was one of the first to arrive, besides a few. Still slightly terrified of the professor, who had proven himself to be nice for the first lesson, Cora still had trouble having the courage to say a lot to him, so just smiled at him as she entered the room. She would participate when it counted during class.
Looking around the room, she waited for someone to chat with before class started officially.

Notebook!dictionary tucked under her arm, Kurumi made her way towards the classroom wonering what sort of class this would be this time around and IF an owl would suddenly make an appearance and cause the man to end the lesson early...again.
Bowing her head as she entered, Kurumi walked directly towards where Penelope was sitting at set her bag on the desk. "Hey," she smiled, unloading her things and arranging them neatly on the table. Hopefully she wouldn't mind the seventh year sitting next to her.
Attention back towards the front of the room, Kurumi bowed her head towards the professor. "Good day, professor." And now she was going to sit down.

He fidgeted with his book bag over his shoulder as he rounded into the Runes classroom, setting his gaze momentarily to the Nordic man "Good day Professor Christiansen" he murmured a little too meekly and hastily as he went to secure a seat somewhere off to the side where his good ear and eagle eyes can fully capture the Professor's lecture. Suffice it to say he found the man's speech to be a bit of a challenge to understand.

Ella entered the Ancient Runes classroom with a small smile on her face, stopping by the Professor to greet him. "Hello Professor, hope you're well." Grin. And if the third year looked kind of excited, it was only because she'd decided to make a game of sorts out of this lesson. Since the Professor's accent wasn't exactly easy to understand, Ella decided she'd see if she could decipher it without asking anyone for help. Entertainment people, Ella could find it anywhere.
Finding a seat in the middle of the classroom, the blonde plopped down and placed her parchment and a quill on her desk. She was ready to rumble.

Bliss had come to Ancient Runes straight from being outside and this was quite a nice change. Especially seen as no one else had been outside and she'd been lonely. The classroom was really nice and warm. And cosy. She went straight to the middle-ish, but first gave a shy greeting to the Professor. "Hello, Professor," she said with a shy smile before sitting down in her seat.

Alex had always liked Christianson...he was the one who made them dress up like vikings that one time!! He got a BEARD! Yes, Christianson definitely knew how to make Ancient Runes interesting, and Alex had always been under the impression that it was horribly, horribly BORINGGGG.
"Good day, Professor," he said with a smile as he walked in. He took his usual seat near the back and waited for class to begin, doodling on his notes a picture of a Norse viking as he waited.

What would happen in this class, Bliss wondered to herself. Anything more interesting than normal? Not that she didn't like Ancient Runes, she just found it all quite difficult to understand. Though she hadn't done too badly in her other lessons. Bliss' thoughts were interrupted by someone sitting down beside her. She looked across the table and saw a girl who's name had slipped her mind. She frowned slightly as she tried to remember it.
SARAH. That was it.
Bliss then realised that her frowning probably looked discouraging, so she beamed widely at Sarah. "Haai! I don't mind at all," she said warmly and smiled at the girl. "Looking forward to the class?" She asked politely, trying to make for some friendly small talk.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Oakey walked into the classroom with high hopes that this lesson won't be cut short by an owl. "Good day, Professor." He said with a smile on his face and moved over to an empty seat beside Ella. "Hiya Ella." Oakey said while removing his parchment and quill from his bag and taking out his Runes Textbook.
Laura walked into the classroom. "Good day Professor." Laura smiled, now though where was she going to sit, she wanted to sit next to someone she liked but who that was the big question.

At the sound of Christiansen's voice, Sierra glanced up and listened as he began the lesson. It was only after he was on the third of fourth word that Sierra realized something. Over time, since he'd been their substitute Ancient Runes professor for so long, she'd started to understand his speech. She could remember being a lot younger and just staring at him as if he wasn't even speaking English at all. In a way, she guessed he wasn't. It was English mixed in with his accent. Hmm. Odd that she'd finally picked up on it.
She raised her hand as he asked the first question. "Is it Galdrastafir?" she asked, saying the word slowly to try and get the pronunciation right.

Despite the fact that Alex thought Christiansen was the coolest professor ever, once the lesson started, it was like his brain immediately shut off and everything flew over his head. Ummmmmm what? Magical staves? Uggh so confusing...time to bring in the weird Norse words he had no idea how to pronounce. He flipped through his book a few times until he stumbled upon the word STAVES and looked up and down the page until he found the answer.
He raised his hand, and JUST as he was about to answer, his sister beat him to it. Right, that was what he had been about to say--he just didn't know how to say it. "Yeah, what she said," he said with a head nod. "It's the Gandalfstaffer or something," he added, trying his own attempt at answering and failing horribly, he was sure.

Blink blink. Stare stare.
Okay...time to bust out with the dictionary here an figure out some of what the man was saying. Kurumi WAS getting a bit better at this understanding of Professor Christiansen. It must have been how people felt when they had first met her and her Japanese accent had been thick. R and L sounds getting all sorts of mixed up.
She at least now knew what ze and vat were.
However what she didn't know was the answer to this question so she sat back and glanced at Sierra when she said some long and difficult to pronounce word that started with a G.

Ella gave Oakey a smile and a nod when he greeted her, happy he decided to sit near her. He was pretty into this rune stuff, yeah? That meant that if she got confused maybe just maybe he'd help a badger out. Grin.
Oh! And they were starting? Grin...time to decipher the accent. Ella leaned forward a bit, clearly so she could have prime ear space to hear what was being said. Totally normal behavior...totally. GRIN. Hey! The third year understood all of that first bit...which was awesome. BEAM. As for a the set he was talking about, Ells wasn't too sure. She bit her lip and listened to her classmates answer, ready to take notes.

Yup accent's nice and thick indeed, just as Vickers remembered it too...
Its taking him a while to process what the man said, scribbling furiously on his notes. Elwood did mention about a collection of runic staves in her lesson last term too, but he didnt think it had anything to do with something as specific as peace runes. Then Sierra said something that probably needs to be spelled out. So quietly the Ravenclaw sat, browsing through his textbook trying to find an approximation of what the Slytherin Prefect said.

Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
SIGH.
She kneeew there was a reason why she wanted to skip this class. Barely at the starting and he was already asking questions that she couldn't possibly know the answer to. Sure she could have checked the textbook like Kurumi told her to do last time but not even Kurumi seemed to know the answer this time which clearly meant that it wasn't in the textbook and in that case there was no way she could know the answer.
Good.
Now that that was settled she got a bit more comfy in her seat and listened for the smart alec who'd no doubt have the answer--not that she'd know the right answer if she heard it...

Minerva listened to the professor as he started class. Well that was a quick way to start. Didn't they do a rune activity with him a few years ago about protection.. Trying to think about it, she wasn't sure if she could remember the actual spell. It didn't seem like others did either. Why did this class have to be so hard at times. She sat and took notes, not sure what to answer so she kept quiet, hoping someone else would know the answer he was looking for.
