The Eagles, reigning Quidditch Cup champions, sit under a bright navy and bronze banner representing their house. The candles light it up nicely in spite of the gloomy, turbulent skies above.
Ooooh! Lookit! Tis her young buddy. Louisa's face beam a bit at the boy, "Hi, Nigel! Had a good summer?" Seriously, sitting here in such a crowded and huge hall make all your insecurities fade away. She didn't even pay attention to the some hair falling from her hair bun.
"Oh, it was okay for a summer. I finally got my own broom for next quidditch season." Nigel said excited. He was finally allowed to have is own broom and he was really tired of the school brooms. He also sees out of the corner of his eye Vickers greeting him. Now Nigel was really get hungry and was wondering what was taking the Headmaster so long to start the speech.
"How is it being Head Girl at Hogwarts?" Nigel asked Louisa curiously.

"If fine! A bit bored because I don't know many people from Ravenclaw," Ari frowed just abit but then returned to smiling. There was no way she was going to let that ruin her Hogwarts experience, besides, she was happy with where she was sorted, "And I'm a bit hungry...havn't had much to eat but that chocolate frog that Emm had bought us on the train..."
"So are you happy with where you were sorted? I know Alexa's a bit bumed but that's probably because she has to eat a hat now..." Ari covered her mouth with her hand as she giggled.
Dylan smiled as she said that she was fine "Yeah I kinda got bored just sitting at the table you know.. so I decided to take a walk." he said looking around at the hall, man it was big hopefully the time would pass quicker if he walked around every inch of the hall.. that way it would be time for classes and all that wand waving he was looking forward to "Yeah that was a good chocolate frog, here have another" he said pulling out a frog from his pocket.
He smiled "Yeah I am, but kinda disappointed that you didnt get to join us. It would have been fun" he said to her as she talked about Alexa "Yeah I saw that.. I am not surprised.. me and her thought she would get into Ravenclaw for sure." he chuckled as she giggled a little. "You happy about being a claw?" he asked wondering how she felt about being sorted into a different house.
He gave another small shrug. He too lived in a manor (they are Vanderbilts after all) and had elves at their beck and call. But indeed they arent quite the kind of narrow-minded traditionalists many Purebloods were "Very traditional... I understand." he replied politely. "Our family have learned to take what works well and adapt it into how we do things, I dont recall blood purity to be a driving factor--" at least thats not what was impressed upon him "-- but moreso our family just had the luck of being Pureblood out of circumstances..... business opportunities, common backgrounds and values.....that sort of thing." Birds of the same feather and all that....
Oh look Lottie was here! But.... her robes have turned yellow. "Hello Lottie" he greeted the young girl. She looked particularly miserable, so he decided to save the congratulating for never. He listened to the girls talk... so Lottie wanted to be sorted in Slytherin? Vickers' lips twitched a bit. In his silent opinion Lottie was rather fortunate to have been sorted with the Hufflepuffs. He eyed the Slytherin table. Seem to be an unsavory lot as a whole, even if he had acquaintances there.
But he didn't understand. It didn't seem like it. She merely stared at him as he babbled on...
He had no idea what it was like for Elliot. But it didn't matter. She hadnt expected much once he revealed that his nickname was after some muggle flying thing.
"You and my father...would kill each other..." she merely said. Because according to her father's ideology, it WAS a privilege to be pureblood, and with it came the fruits of her families' fortune. Enormous fortune it was, too. She chuckled. "HE was a slytherin..." as if to say, what can you expect?
She glanced back at wittle Wottie...hoping she was okay...and then looked back at Vickers. She had come to ELLIOT, not, VIckers...which made Elliot feel AWESOME.
hahahahHAAA!

Elliot had lost Pres on the way to the Great Hall...but she found her friend and sighed. She had gotten something for her. But it was in the common room...
"Sorry, I should have told you back there..." she said softly. "But Happy Birthday, Presley Black!" she smirked...
The string of pearls would look quite nice on Presley's slender neck. And all ladies had to have a pair of REAL pearls.

"Thanks," She managed a smile at the young girl. "What is it?" She wanted to say "Sorry about yelling at you. But you know I had to." She wanted to ask how Awarlesta's brother was doing. She wanted to ask about Leo and her own father, but she didn't. Because she was Presley, and she was too damned proud for her own good.

Presley flipped around as Elliot came up on her other side. "Oh, no worries. Thanks, Elliot." Elliot Morganzo was the best friend Presley could ask for. She even remembered, in the excitement of the first day back, that it was Presley's birthday. That took a good friend.
Presley's eyes grew wide as Elliot noticed Awarlesta. This could not turn out well. "We're not friends." Presley snapped defensively. Then wishing she could take that comment back, explained. "This is my cousin, Awarlesta. Awar, meet Elliot Morganzo." Then under her breath and mostly to herself "Though, you'd konw her already if your mother would let you interact socially." That was a sore spot for the Black family, and it bothered Presley no end that Awar and Elliot didn't already know each other.

She'd have to wait until after the feast to see the healer, although the Gryffindor prefect with the weird name told her to do it as soon as she could.
Spotting Presley somewhere at the table, Elise sat opposite her, about 2 chairs to the left. Beaming, she waved with her free hand. "Hey, Presley," she said. "You okay?"
Well, Elise had meant to ask if she'd been hurt on the train, but the question now seemed to have a double meaning. She didn't seem very happy either.
Elliot shot a quick glare at Jayden before looking back at Jared. "I'm only protecting you," she snapped, in a hushed tone, and then the smirk pasted itself on her face again.
BE NICE?!?!
Did Jayden even kNOW Elliot?!?
Apparently not.
"No! That's no fun, Fishface," she snickered...heehee
"Suuuuuuure you are. EL-IOT." Jayden grumbled, tossing her hair back irritatedly. "Whatever, I just hope that you two can become friends somehow..." She sighed, rolling her eyes.
Merlin? Can a girl catch a break around here?
Apparently NOT.
"So anyways, ELLIE... How are your siblings doing? And the parentals?" Jayden pried.

Adam only half-limped his time as he walked in with Ameliah. His ankle was feeling mostly better though he didn't exactly mind Ameliah clinging to him. And speaking of Ameliah, how the heck was she all fine?? Rude, Fate. Rude.
Suddenly: Table to sit at. BLIMEY how Adam missed sitting. He carefully sat next to Ameliah, keeping his arm around her waist. He smiled at her friends, but he didn't really know them much. WHERE WAS RONNIE? Adam needed another familiar face.

She reached her hand up and gently touched where it hurt, and sure enough there was that big bump. She winced. OUCH.
Today was not as great as she thought it'd be. No, it was terrible. And plus, she still felt pretty sick, even after puking. Ugh. Puking...EWW. Ronnie didn't like to think about that. Puking in front of her fellow classmates at the station....how embarrassing that had been...hopefully no one had really noticed. There was a bit of a distance between that trash bin and all the students, so maybe nobody had really seen. Except for Adam and Ameliah, of course.
She looked down glumly at the table. All she wanted was to go curl up in her bed in the dorm, she didn't care about the feast right now. She needed SLEEP. Maybe after she slept, her head would feel a little bit better in the morning and her tummy. She really hoped so. Because all this pain was driving her NUTS. Ronnie needed a hug. NOW. Ameliah suddenly realized:
ADAM WAS SITTING HERE LIKE A TOTAL STRANGER TO THESE PEOPLE. And Ameliah couldn't have that. Adam was family. "Oh yeah! Guys, this is Adam. He just transfered from Beauxbatons, he's Ash's older brother." And Ameliah's new boyfriend. But best not to mention that off the bat.
AND NOW RONNIE WAS HERE. Ameliah grinned, "Oh yeah, Rons, I still haven't given you the stuffs!" She reached into her bag and pulled out several potions. "Burning toenails, elongated nosehair, exploding tonsils...." she muttered as she searched through the multicolored potions. "Ah, here we are!" Ameliah gave Ronnie two bottles labled Headaches and Nausea. "A few drops and you'll be feeling better!"

She took the chocolate frog and smiled thankfully at Dylan as she opened it up and took a good sized bite out of it,
Ari nodded in agreement with everything Dylan was saying, she would have talked but she had food in her mouth and that would have been kinda disgusting. She swallowed the sweet snack, "Yeah, I'm happy about it! It would have been nice for all of us to be in the same house, but you know, out of the three of us one has to be the smart one," Ari giggled as she pointed to herlsef, "Someone to make sure our trouble making schemes are fool proof so we don't get caught!"

RONNNNNNNNIEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! Adam grinned as is awesome friend sat down. "Hey Ronnie!!" He hugged her. Cause she looked like she needed a hug. Adam was good for that.
Elliot caught that grin. "Want me to kick someone else over?" she asked with a small smirk. Heehee. It would be fun, anyways.
She didn't quite make out what Lottie said...but she eyed the younger girl. "Come on, Lottie..." she said with a nudge of affection at the girl. Although, if Elliot had been sorted a Hufflepuff...
Well. Let's just say that she wouldnt be here at the moment, rather, in a life-long cell in Askaban for murder.
It WAS terrible news...but Elliot couldnt tell Lottie that...no...but the blonde was LOUSY at this comforting business. She always had been. "Lottie...if it makes you feel better, you can always sit with me here at the 'claw table...I know it's not Slytherin," she rolled her eyes, and they flickered over at the green clad table, "but at least you won't have to sit with them." She spat it out like THEM was a bug.
Well, they were annoying litter buggers. So same difference, really.

He eyed the Slytherin table. Seem to be an unsavory lot as a whole, even if he had acquaintances there.
She was willing to do that just so Lottie could feel a tiny bit better. That smile definitely widened. And she almost considered saying 'Yes'. But hurting someone just for seeing them hurt...wasn't exactly fair, was it? Even if it was to cheer her up. "Nah, it's alright." Though, that was fun, so thanks again, Elliot.
That former frown was going away, slowly, but eventually...it was no longer there. A small smile was in place. She supposed that her being upset will only give more strength to those yellow ones over there. And she didn't want that, did she?
Plus, Elliot just made the most amazing offer she'd ever expect. "It makes me feel better, actually," she smiled, almost back to her old self again, "I'm staying here..., you know, until it's time to go...," GO, wherever, off to the Common Room...because she hardly thought the Headmistress would like to deal with her problems when they had a broken train this evening.
It wasn't until now that she finally looked up at the enchanted ceiling and smiled again. "Looks like it'll rain...," hopefully the kitchens won't flood.
OH MERLIN!
That voice!
She turned to face the now-familiar voice of the one boy who helped her get the luggage all settled, "Vickers," well, she seemed in a much better mood thanks to Elliot, "The year seems to have started in an exciting way, rather memorable, don't you agree?" he couldn't complain, it was his last and so many things had happened already.
Elise walked into the Great Hall a little late, but grateful that the hall wasn't quite as filled as it usually was yet. She wasn't all that late. Arm in the bandage and splint, she scowled.
Great, even little Elise Fairfeild had noticed Presley's sour mood. Presley smiled cheerily at the girl. "I should be asking you that! Why haven't you been to the healer yet? That looks pretty nasty." She gestured to the girls arm, all bandaged up.

She supposed what Vivi had said made sense but...well..."How does that work when they're so scary that the actually injured don't wanna show up at their door?" She asked, tilting her head slightly. Then again that might have been the idea. There would be less work to do if there were less students coming in--LE GASP, so that was it! Lex winced when Vivi raised her wrist to get a better look. The pain had gotten worse since someone last tried looking at it. Merlin, it really shouldn't have been that bad, all she did was land badly on it!
She nodded when the girl asked her to wiggle her fingers. That would be easy, the hand had still been functional for the most part...not that she had been using it much. Her brows furrowed when she saw that her fingers were only slightly moving. "That's weird...it was better earlier." She looked back at her friend. "Can you fix it...?"
"I think it's the swelling," Vivi gently lowered the arm. Could she fix it? Sure, she knew a few spells, but none she'd done herself and none she trusted herself to use on a first year who trusted her with enormous eyes. She wasn't taking anyone's health in her hands.
"I can't fix it. I don't think it's broken, and we can wrap it up and keep it immobile for a while, but if it hurts that much, you probably need to see the Healer. She isn't that bad. No one's died at Hogwarts in years." True fact.

His gaze shifted when Alexa joined them "Hey Alexa-- you're a Gryffindor!" he uttered as he looked at the crimson on her robes. "Of course, of course..." Jayden hissed back, her blue eyes dark and angry coloured. "I'm a RAVENCLAW Elliot. I'm not thick, otherwise I wouldn't be here, duh." She scoffed, rolling her eyes at Elliot.
And then Elliot began talking about her family..."Oh. Glad to hear that things are okay..." She replied, her voice a bit softer. Family affairs seemed to be a trigger for Elliot when they were discussed.

Elise shrugged, wincing. That had hurt. Note to self: Don't shrug with a broken arm that hasn't been casted yet. Plastering the smile back on her face, Elise looked up to face Presley.
"I can't seem to find her," she confessed. "But Kurumi bandaged this up to keep it stable for now." She'd had to say the name carefully. Cause she had a tendency to say Krummy. And that wasn't her name.
"How was your summer?" she asked, cocking her head to one side.
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite

"I can't fix it. I don't think it's broken, and we can wrap it up and keep it immobile for a while, but if it hurts that much, you probably need to see the Healer. She isn't that bad. No one's died at Hogwarts in years." True fact.
Swelling? Yeah...her eyes fell to her hand as Vivi released it. Okay so maybe it was a bit swollen...but not all that much...right...? Looking up at her friend again she didn't like the look on her face. Why did it look like she wasn't sure? She had to be sure! She had a brain!!!! This situation was turning out to be even worse than when she first landed on that stupid platform.
Her eyes went wide and her mouth opened slightly when she heard her say that awful word. Can't. So she couldn't help her??? Lex was about to go into full panic mode but then Vivi gave a suggestion that sounded reasonable. "Well....if you're sure that will work..." Anything to keep her away from the Hospital Wing. "then I guess we'll do that! Plus it--it doesn't hurt that badly." She lied, forcing on a smile that she was sure wasn't all that convincing but it was the best she could conjure up at the moment.
WHAAAA?!?!?!?!
"Why does everyone keep mentioning stuff about dying?? And saying that no one has died in years does not make me feel any better!" In fact now she was left wondering what kilked them!

She couldn't find the healer? Presley's brow furrowed. "I'd offer to fix it for you, but I'm not exactly focused right now. It could end up worse than before." She grinned at the younger girl. Presley was good at mending broken bones. She was training to be a healer. But today of all days? Well, she didn't want to accidentally remove the girls arm or something. Though she was upset that the healer wasn't there to help people. It was plain unprofessional.
"My summer was pretty good," Presley lied easily, surrepitously crossing her fingers under the table. A trick Leo had taught her when she was teeny. He'd told her it made the lies not count, and Pres had never been able to shake the habit. "How about yours? Did you do anything fun?"
Dylan watched as Ariella opened up the chocolate frog and took a bite out of it. Well at least she wont be hungry now, well not too much. He watched as she nodded along with him, he smiled as she said that she was happy "Hey! " he chuckled as she pointed at herself "We can do that too.. but we thought that we would leave that job to you" he chuckled "We do need fool proof plans.. we cant get into trouble again." he pretended to think a little "Ok.. ok.. so I guess it will be you to make our plans fool proof.. but you have to make sure they are.. like you said we cannot get caught" he said trying to sound all serious in his 11yr old voice. But he was also trying his hardest to not laugh even though he was finding this amusing as if they were preparing for like a mission or something where the boss tells someone what they have to do for the mission to succeed
Elliot smirked. She was sure? Okay then.
And Lottie was sooo welcome here. Yep. "You're always welcome here, Lottie." She said softly...but waaait. Elliot was being WAAAY too nice...so she nudged the girl a bit..."And hey, don't expect me to always be nice, kid. You caught me in a decent mood!" she said with a wink and a smirk.
She merely watched as younger girl talked to Vickers...who she was refraining judgement on for now. She didn't know if she liked the guy. He was...different than she was.

And then Elliot began talking about her family..."Oh. Glad to hear that things are okay..." She replied, her voice a bit softer. Family affairs seemed to be a trigger for Elliot when they were discussed.
Elliot smirked. "I know, Jayden...but..." but what? Elliot didn't finish. She merely smirked in a smug way..
And she didn't like the way Jayden was talking now. As if she were a china glass about to fall on the floor...because she clearly wasn't."Yeah...I guess. Dani started at Beauxbatons this year.." she forgot if Jayden knew that already or not. And Elliot missed her sister right now...a lot. She wished she were at Hogwarts with heerrrr!

Her family...well, they WOULDNT take it...they would blast whoever it was off the family tree, charts, books, WHATEVER!

Presley watched Awarlesta walk away before responding to Elliot. "I'm dealing with it," she explained. Presley had already been over to yell at Awar, so she could put that in a letter. She knew how to deal with her grandparents, and she would make sure Awar was still invited for Christmas. That meant, however, that Presley had three letters to write tonight, and send off as soon as possible.

Puffers. Elliot would be positively GLOATING at Presley later for this...Ravenclaw was ONE THING. But Hufflepuff? She was sure all of the mothers were going to have a field day with this piece of gossip...

Presley smirked. She knew exactly what Elliot was thinking. The gossip circle would have a FEILD DAY with this one.
Awarlesta did a double take when Presley called her Lessie. She hasn't heard that in years! "Yeah, I will for sure." She was about to go back to the Puff table when the Elliot girl stopped her. She kept mentioning she was Black. "Yes. I'm a Black. I know this." She shook her hand cautiously. "I'm sure Hufflepuff is full of proud people...like me."

Elliot merely eyed the girl. she didn't want to say this aloud...but she didn't really like her. Not like Presley. presley was so much cooler. But she wouldn't disrespect her...well, not in front of Presley, anyways. She merely eyed the girl...still.

Presley could tell that Elliot didn't like Awar much, and obviously Awar disliked Elliot. Pres hoped it just turned out to be mildly disliking each other from a distance, because Lessie was family. But Presley could not stand to lose Elliot. "Had a good holiday then everyone?" She asked the general vicinity that all seemed to be having three conversations each. She needed this to not be so awkward and so 'poor Presley having the most awful birthday ever'. So she simply asked everyone about their holidays. She was sure to be replied to with interesting stories of things people had been doing for three months.
