The Eagles, reigning Quidditch Cup champions, sit under a bright navy and bronze banner representing their house. The candles light it up nicely in spite of the gloomy, turbulent skies above.
Elliot shot her a VERY icy look. "If you sit on me...I swear...I will have to strangle you..." she growled, clearly not joking about this. Elliot needed her space...and she didn't WANT to be sat on...
How weird would that be?
Jayden always knew how to annoy Elliot..ALWAYS. UGH.
Ha. Mission accomplished: Annoying Elliot.
"So, you must tell me about this BOY." Jayden retorted, raising her voice a decibel.
Ha. Now to watch Elliot squirm... muahaha.
Elliot immediately felt her cheeks flush, but she coughed and tried to make it STOP. "His name is Ezra, remember, but he like to be called Ezzi..he's Australian..." she said softly. "He's nice. And different." Different meaning...NOT LIKE ELLIOT AT ALL.
Not uptight, not mean, not anyone from the nobility. And she liked it. "But he's very clever and sarcastic..." so Elliot liked him even more for that.
SPOILER!!: airplaneguy

Besides when he hears parents he thinks guardians and that would automatically be his Uncle and Grandma. But enough about him "What about you? How did you get named Elliot?" It was like a-boy-named-Sue situation, it was quite unusual.
Wait, she mentioned the awesome little First year "Lottie? Sure I do." he smile widens as he shifts his gaze at the pool of Firsties now gathering around the Sorting Hat "Lovely little girl, would be awesome if she gets sorted here." Although his natural affinity to Lottie wouldnt suffer much if she ever got sorted in a different house. He liked the kid, it almost like having a sister he never had.
And his gaze goes back to the Staff table, the Ginger!Headmistress now leading the congregation of important-y adults. Again he can feel himself slouch a little lower in shame and looked away. Seriously, how was he supposed to walk up there or anywhere and greet them with a guilt free conscience? Nope he's gonna have to slink around like a common criminal. Woe is he....
OH.
Elliot rolled her eyes at herself...how silly of her! "Oh, I got it now. I apologize," she said, giving her head a little bow in his direction. She folded her hands on her lap, and straightened her posture. Elliot Morganzo did NOT slouch. And Show n' Tell...what was that? She smirked, so intrigued by all this talk..."I don't even know what show and tell is...but I assume you show something and tell about it, no?" she said, taking a guess. THe name was pretty clear, after all. Have to be quite daft not to get it. "I was home schooled until Hogwarts...my father refused to send me a muggle school...." which she had heard was quite popular. She didn't know if she would have liked being around all the muggles. Ew. But no matter. She wasn't going to say this aloud. She set her blue eyes back on Vickers.
She thought..well how to answer this question without sounding absolutely bitter, absolutely angry and furious at her father? Hmph. "Well," she began, sighing a bit. Her eyes looked suddenly cold. "My father wanted an heir, you see. He's the only the boy in his family...so naturally he needed to have a son to leave our whole estate, the Morganzo fortune, and our reputation to. Quite a shock when a baby girl popped out," she looked away form him, and she realized that she had absentmindedly grabbed a napkin and was squishing it to pulp. SHe scowled, put it back on the table. "ANd I had two more sisters after me...but he finally got his wish, now, did he? LAst year he finally had the son he always craved..." she was merely venting now, and more to herself than to Vincenzo.
She looked back at Vickers and sighed. "Sorry you had to hear all of that..." she grumbled. GAh. She really needed to get a grip. But she hadnt even spoken to her father all summer, and she wouldnt until Christmas. Stupid business.
But Elliot shifted in her seat and actually smiled when they veered to Lottie. "I decided to take her on as my protege..." she commented.."She is too awesome. Reminds me of my myself..." which was true.
She saw him look nervously at the staff table...at the Headmistress to be exact. "Don't like her?" she asked, crinkling her nose.

Louisa's head snapped up, startled, at the slightly familiar voice, "Erin! Hi." Yeah, she was a bit jumpy after all the spooky fading lights and whatnot. "Yeah, it's pretty big. Thank you very much." She nodded managing a small smile. She did remember the girl from when she was a firstie, Enya used to bug her a lot and they ended being enemies; Erin and Enya, not Louisa. Because even if Louisa had a temper of her own, and even if she rarely allowed people to see the power of her emotions, she didn't take anyone as an enemy.
"How's your cat, by the way? Do you still have her? Does she still have my name?" She chuckled at the memory of this. Louisa had two cats to look after this term, too, so maybe they could form some kind of a big cat house in the common room? Yes?
"You do look pretty with a crown and it suits you," Erin sort of giggled. She's a pride, she truly is. "Vashti was Head Girl too, right? And you're bestfriends if I am not mistaken." Lucky girls. Up until now, Erin still didn't know how the heads of the student body were chosen but she could learn them on her fourth year, might be on her OWLs term or even in her sixth or last year. There were still loads of time.
Cat? Posy? Erin was ready to answer when suddenly, Louisa added the statement, 'Does she still have my name?' A cue for her to miss Enya even more. They were enemies on her first year but they instantly gotten along well on her second term. "How I wished I still have her but Enya took her, remember? And she's best to be her owner. But I bought a new one. Her name's Posy. Your cat should meet her sometime." Well, it was Louisa's last year, the cats should meet definitely.
"Ooooh. Ezra? What house is he in? I must meet him at once!" Jayden cried, and then, upon realizing how LOUD she was being, her voice dropped down to a hushed whisper. "Clever AND sarcastic?" She hissed, her eyes widening in interest. "Hmm... I must definitely meet this boy. And you have to meet Jared. Promise?" She asked, flipping back her black curls. Gah. They could be such a burden sometimes.
Maybe it was time for a change.. something that would bug Elliot, and make her more noticeable to Jared.
After being storted, Ariella skipped over toward the Ravenclaw table and took a seat down, she assumed she was one of the first to be sorted into the house of the ravens but she couldn't be sure. Ari bit her lip nervously as she glanced around the table...

Harvey sat down at the Ravenclaw table for the start of term feast, it had been years since he had sat here since he had always started his years at the hufflepuff table. He was happy to be here as well cause afterall he WAS a claw. He couldn't believe he was in his fourth year already, time had flown by so fast it seemed like only yesterday that he had arrived here and attended many classes and now here he was in his fourth year.

Tay made her way to her house table from the gryffindor's and spotted Harvey. "Harvey!" She squealed and hugged him. Taylor kissed his cheek, "Hi!" She did a small happy dance and laughed.

Harvey almost jumped out of his shoes as he heard someone squeal his name, he was most definitely not expecting that! He looked around as he saw a flash of hair before he was hugged tightly before he was kissed upon his cheek. He saw who it was and he smiled, he should have known that it was Taylor! "Hi Taylor!" he smiled "Good to see that you have missed me, don't worry we wont tell Damon that you have" he chuckled jokingly. Well it looked like she was excited to be back and who wouldnt be.. this was a good place to be!
His gaze swung away from the Staff table at the sound of another voice joining him. "Interesting indeed... never experienced a train breaking down in the middle of a trip before." he said with a shake of his head and a slight smirk. He can talk about it all lighthearted now, being back in the comforts of Hogwarts. "You got about alright though? No injuries? or damaged anything?" because it looked like total chaos at the platform."Oh yeah, my name is Vickers by the way." he said as he offered a handshake. Yup introductions, because although the young girl looked familiar, he doesnt remember her name....
Ah yes Addy has come around. He cocked his head up in greeting and gave her another smile "It was quite the hassle, then again we fairly got here on time despite the train issues..." which got him frowning a bit, what exactly caused the train to break down anyway?
He looked up and waved a "Hello Silvia" at the other Ravenclaw before doing a double take at Addy and her introduction at the other girl "Jacks?" trying not to snort here ".... just when were you called Jacks? Or is it more Jacques?" he quipped with the slight French intonation.

She never liked it to be restrained and limited. But.. tough times call for tough measures.
"Hello. Everybody's doing okay?" she greeted the small crowd at the table recognizing Vickers, the girl that doesn't like candy (kayquilz) and her friend (HazelStone101), Gwen and Ari, Silvia and then the girl speaking to Vickers (Eriin). That last one was... interesting. Louisa kept looking at her coolly, trying to catch whatever they were talking about.
EH. Probably he was just making her feel comfy after all this hassle.
Louisa moved her attention to the rest of the empty table, no first years yet... Pity.
At least she was feeling better than she had been out in the creepy darkness, mhmm.
Silvia smiled and waved back to Vickers with a "Hello."
Just then, Louisa also joined the table. "Congrats on becoming Head Girl," she said, taking note of the badge. Silvia hadn't really been certain on just who she thought would get the badge, but she was glad to see a Ravenclaw wearing it.

Alex made a mental note to look for them during the feast.
She headed for the Ravenclaw table looking for an empty seat and searching for friends. Alex spotted Silvia and headed in her direction. The feast would not be the same without one of her very first friends at Hogwarts. She sat down in an empty seat and said,"Hi Silvia, glad to see you made it here in one piece." "How have you been?"
"Hello Alex!" Silvia said, glad to see her old friend and have someone her own age to talk to. "Glad to see that you made it here safely too. That was one interesting train ride. I've been fine. Can't wait for classes to start." And to try out the new spells she had been practicing without her wand over the summer. "And what about you? How have you been doing?"

"Hi Sylvia! Thanks, I'm very happy about being sorted into Ravenclaw!" She then remembered she hadn't seen Sylvia since the portkeys, "You didn't get hurt at all while traveling by portkey, did you? I saw a few students with injuries..."

Ariella smiled at an older girl who had taken a seat across from her and welcomed her warmly into Ravenclaw, "Thanks! I'm Ariella, but I go by Ari most of the time..." Then the girl asked her if she was excited for any classes and Ariella nodded enthusiastically "Oh! Well I guess I'm excited for all of them! I don't think I could choose just one, they all sound pretty exciting!"
Max was starving. He never did quite get to buy any of those chocolate frogs or cauldron cakes on the train... he should have taken Dylan's advice and pushed by the crowd of younger students. Ah, well. He was probably better off without all that sugar anyway. But no one could blame him when he ate three or four plates full of mashed potatoes alone.
When Max entered the Great Hall, his eyes fell upon his and Ellie's usual spot at the Ravenclaw table. In the back of his mind he had hoped to see a flash of red hair in that direction - but of course he was being foolish. He did spot Louisa nearby, however, and he decided perhaps it was time for a change. He headed down the length of the table on the opposite side from Louisa.
Upon sitting down across from the Head Girl, Max gave small smiles and nods to everyone already there. "Hey Louisa, how 'bout those adventures?" There was a weary grin, but his tone had a hint of sarcasm. They hadn't been in any real danger with the train dilemma, it seemed - though there had been many scratches and bruises via portkey. It would certainly be a last trip to Hogwarts they would never forget. "Looks like the 'fun' is seeking us out this time around." When a term started out the way it did, there was no denying that more bizarre happenings were just around the corner.
How exciting.

"That's the spirit!" Jayden applauded the girl. "You keep that mentality and you'll do great here!" She smiled, thinking back to her own first year at Hogwarts. It seemed like it was just yesterday that she had been sorted into Ravenclaw. How upset she had been not to have been sorted into Gryffindor like her parents. Ravenclaw had grown on her, of course. "Well, I hope you have a good first year. Try and stay out of trouble though..." She warned, raising her eyebrow, mocking seriousness. And then she proceeded to giggle. "Of course, it is fun sometimes to rebel.." She laughed. She and her friend Jordan had been SUCH troublemakers in their first and second years. They were slowing down now of course...

Jared walked up to the Ravenclaw table, his eyes scanning for his Jayden. Standing in the crowded hall, his mind wandered back to that day in Diagon Alley, supply shopping with her. Remembering the promise she had made him, his heart started racing, and a flush formed in his cheeks. Shaking himself, trying to calm down, Jared returned to scanning. A minute later, he saw her, talking to a couple of girls. Not wanting to interrupt, Jared slowly made his way around to the opposite side of the table, so she could see him when she looked up.

Jayden had been talking to Elliot and welcoming a Ravenclaw when she suddenly felt a presence. A male presence. It was Jared. "Oh merlin." She mumbled to herself quietly, her cheeks growing hot. "Umm... Hi Jared! How are you? You look nice!" She greeted him warmly, her blue eyes shifting over to Elliot. "That's him..." She hissed at Elliot between clenched teeth.
Please Elliot. Whatever you do.. don't embarrass me...
She begged the girl mentally. As if THAT would help...

Kinda.
Erm... NOT. *cackles*
Ariella giggled when the girl warned her to stay out of trouble and she couldn't help but think back to the events that had only happened maybe a day ago and giggled even more. Once she had finally settled down she muttered, "Thanks for the warning but it's a little to late for that..."

Adam only half-limped his time as he walked in with Ameliah. His ankle was feeling mostly better though he didn't exactly mind Ameliah clinging to him. And speaking of Ameliah, how the heck was she all fine?? Rude, Fate. Rude.
Suddenly: Table to sit at. BLIMEY how Adam missed sitting. He carefully sat next to Ameliah, keeping his arm around her waist. He smiled at her friends, but he didn't really know them much. WHERE WAS RONNIE? Adam needed another familiar face.
Hugo sat down at the Ravenclaw table. Looked left. Looked right. Looked at his empty plate. The plate was the only familiar face. He hadn't realised how he'd lost most of his friends in the last couple of years, and the thought made him feel more alone than ever. Where was everyone? He missed his friends.
He looked up and sighed. Maybe this was a good thing. It made going abroad and saying good-bye to people easier. Sort of. At least he wouldn't have to focus on being alone anymore.
Presley had been sitting, just reveling in the feeling of happiness and home that Hogwarts, and especially Ravenclaw House gave her, mildly listening to the sorting, when she heard her cousins name called out. She had forgotten that Awarlesta was going to be at Hogwarts this year. She watched with disinterest, until the hat shouted something Presley definitely didn't expect. Hufflepuff.
Presley was shocked. Awarlesta was going to be disowned. Not that Presley minded much, but to be associated even if just by blood with someone who was so low as to be a Hufflepuff? It was the worst shame Presley could imagine. Hufflepuffs were known for being less-than-bright. And nobody bearing the noble name of Black could be accused to stupidity.
Presley waited patiently until the sorting was over, but the second the Headmaster had finished her stupid speech, Presley stood and strode over to the Hufflepuff table.

It was Ameliah.. he watched as she greeted Taylor with a hug, well it was good to see that they were good and not fighting anymore. She then looked at him and greeted him too "Hey Ameliah" he smiled.. well they were still friends though.. so they could still talk. Its not like they would stop being friends just cause she didn't want to be with him anymore. Hmmm....so now that there was nothing left to be done at the Gryffie table until the until the Headmistress' speech Lex found that she had a lot of time on her hand.
Maybe a bit too much.
For a while she was just walking in circles but then something caught her eyes at the Ravenclaw table. Amongst the noise and chatter of the students there was a boy staring down into his plate. He might have looked lonely too but that was most likely her eyes seeing things that weren't there. Shrug. Either way she was going to talk to him. "Hi there." She said, plopping down into the empty seat next to him and giving him a wide smile. "Umm I think the speech will start soon then we can eat." She knew how sad boys could get when they didn't have food.

Someone was talking to him. Like, a chipmunk. But he'd take a chipmunk over no one, so he looked up. ICKLE PERSON. They really got smaller every year. Eat? Oh yeah. Eat. "Oh," he said, fake smiling a bit too wide perhaps. "Righto. Foody nom. he said, trying to sound chirpy to impress a first year. What was he doing. He was trying to impress a tiny firstie? Pull yourself together, Doyle.
He was sure the first year was picking up on all his fake-y-ness so he changed subject because food was a bit too close to his core. "First year, then?" he asked the kid. "What house did you get sorted into?" He couldn't be bothered to pay attention at another boring first year sorting. He remembered putting that hat on. Ravenclaw, it had yelled. Even though he'd been sure he was a Gryffindor, but that was just 11-year nonsense. Yes, he remembered his first year. He'd been the same awkward, lonely boy he was now.
