THERE SHE WAS.

Nathan jogged his way to her. "Hi," he breathed - before grinning. "Safe ride?" Too soon to joke?

Probably.

"I didn't see you .. So I thought .. I'd come by and check"

Yeah? Yeah.

Addy watched him intently as he made his way to her. HOW DID SHE REALLY FEEL ABOUT HIM BEING WITH THAT GIRL? She couldn't figure it out. Oh well, she would surely lose sleep over it later as she over analyzed it. Heh.

"Hi." She gave him a small smile and dropped her gaze. "Not one I will soon forget. That's for sure." She gave a small chuckle as well.

Was he WORRIED about her? DID HE MISS HER? What was this? Looking up a bit startled she blinked a few times. "I'm... I'm okay. Did you want to sit with me?" She could scoot and he could sit... even if he had to sit kind of close because of the crowd at the table. heh.

Crap. She had hurt his feelings. Nell took a deep breath. She would have to find a good way to explain herself. Her green eyes met his and she gave him a wry smile. "It wasn't the trunks of even the concussion. It was what I said because of the concussion."

This was difficult because she hadn't ever liked a guy this much. She didn't want to blow this but couldn't see any other way but to come right out with it. "I really like you. And I'm deeply afraid that your going to find some other girl and forget about me." She looked at her hands as they splayed out on the table. "I couldn't even admit any of this to myself...it took a concussion and some strange hallucination for me to realize it. I'm not used to talking to guys like this if you hadn't noticed."

Her smile turned shy as she finally turned to look at him. Would he run screaming from the room now?

"Don't panic, Short Stuff." Vivi whipped off her tie and fashioned it into a very rudimentary sling. It wouldn't do much for support, but it was tight enough to keep Lex from moving her arm around.

"Can't fix... won't fix. Trust me... you don't want to let people point a wand at you without supervision." And even still... it had to be the right KIND of supervision. "If it doesn't feel any better tomorrow, you better go to the Healer. And I want that tie back."

"Jacks!" Vivi grinned at the younger girl. It was nice that SOMEONE was glad to see her, considering the reception she seemed to be getting from some glarey-faces further down the table. Not very nice.

"Did you witness that I made Hasty smile on the train? I believe you owe me a bag of Bott's beans." Yes, apparently they'd started a candy gambling ring on the train. Which reminded her... she owed Lex chocolate frogs for not getting in trouble on the train. Unless sprained things counted as trouble?

"Did the Sorting Hat have any trouble where to put you?" he asked curiously as he eyed Alexa quickly "You're.... okay about being sorted here right?" because he has already seen two newly sorted students who seemed a little disgruntled with their placement.

"The most... distinguished. It isn't exactly a difficult title to win among this bunch, is it?" She elbowed him a bit to encourage that tight little pathetic smile to blossom into something a bit more genuine. Come on, then, chappy. Only threatened your health and well being a FEW times.

"The Sorting Hat and I were in perfect accord. We ignored each other until he gave in first and saw things my way." She was so obviously supposed to be in this house. She might have had more to say, but the Headmistress spoke, and Vivi had to sink down a bit in her seat and pretend she didn't see her mother waving. Merlin.

And then... oh. House elves! Vivi wiggled her fingers a bit as they passed, wondering if they'd remember the days of changing her nappies and putting her to bed when her Pops was at the Ministry and her mother was leading staff meetings.

Maxwell shrugged. "I don't know...that's why i asked...Tell me, when was the last time you saw Brodie?" He asked thinking he must be to blame, he still had no motive for Brodie to do something like this but it could happen.

Beezley curled her little elfish fingers tighter around the part of the plant she was holding. She made a little oomph sound as she shifted her weight from one side to the other. "Are we there yet?" she asked, trying to crane her little neck above the plant to see ahead. "Beezley sees leaves. Only leaves," she said. When she looked down, though, she could see the feet of the studentsies. Only their feet. "Welcome back to Hogwarts, studentsies!" she said.

Tay looked at him confused, "Brodie? Maybe a week ago... though he did give me some yummy cookies... why?" She didnt make any connection.

Nathan smiled wide. Why would he want that?

Taking a seat next to her immediately, the boy turned to look at her and smiled: "Are you ok, then?" he asked, concerned - his own head at bumped pretty badly at the wall .. but he had been able to save Delphi from being hit .. had there been anyone who had saved Addy?

Oooo she could tell that this one was nice, how? Because she beamed back, that's how!

Lex was definitely shocked to hear that the Healer had punished someone for trying to help. "But that doesn't make any sense!! Why would she punish you for something like that? Aren't they the ones telling the older kids to help the others?" Not that she wanted any of the older kids to help. Nope. They could just stay away from her because she didn't trust any of them! They were waving wands like they knew it all but who knew, the spell could go wrong then she'd be maimed!!

Her eyes went wide in wonder and amazement when she heard that there was now a playground. "Wooooow! And is everyone allowed on it...or just stupid older kids?" Because really they wouldn't have had much use for it except an extra place to go kissing; yuck.

Lex wasn't one to intrude on he conversations of others....okay maybe she was but she didn't make a habit of it. This however was a case where exceptions could be made! Why? Because they were talking about spells! But then...they were talking about drains and clogging...?

"Um..what are you guys talking about...?" She questioned.


Lex looked over at the girl with a lot of uncertainty as she told her not to panic. It got even more concentrated with uncertainty when Vivi pulled off her tie. She would have asked what she was going to do with it but then she saw.... O____O

She winced a bit when she got her hand throw the thing and rested it there. Hmm...well this would just have to do. Anything was better than going to the Healer...especially after what she just witnessed!

So that was it! She didn't want to fix it! Hmph, fine, then it wouldn't get fix. The look on her face should have made it clear that she agreed with her 100% when it came to having people point wands at her; she didn't trust the lot of them. "I know...that's why I came looking for you...because you're smarter than them...but fine this should do and it will be ten times better by tomorrow so you can have your tie back then!" She said with a smile and a nod. Lex would try to convince herself that she was fine because this was all mind over matter.

Then she suddenly remembered something. Tilting her head slightly she looked Genevieve straigth in the eyes. "Can I have my chocolate frogs now...?" Being good was hard work after all.

"Yeah..." There as no arguing with that. Thanks to that little episode just now Lex was convinced that she would never travel by portkey again...unless they were going to Atlantis...that would have been worth it. "You're lucky you didn't break anything like some people did." No she didn't count herself in that group of people and that was obviously because she hadn't broken anything; Vivi said so herself.

"Uhhhh..." How would she answer that...? "Well I like where I've been placed that's for sure!" Yup, she was a lion and she was proud. "But the hat was being a bit difficult...I mean I even tried being nice before threatening it and even then it didn't listen to me! You don't even know how nice I was being." After she realized that the threats weren't working. "In the end I think the hat was just stupid." She said with a shrug. "Even after I threatened to dip it in gravy it wouldn't give me what I wanted." Such a silly hat and now it would pay; it would pay dearly--but not before she got her chocolate frogs....just in case...

What had she said because of the concussion? All he could recall was something about a pink princess and him being her boyfriend. Had he missed something? Edmund opened his mouth to try and tell her to forget about it, but snapped it closed at her next words.

How was it that she liked him to the point of being scared he'd go and find another girl? He'd known they were interested in each other, but this level of interest was new to him. His expression was pretty much blank as he absorbed all of this. When she turned to him with that cute shy smile of hers, all he could do was smile. She was doing perfectly well at talking to him.

He didn't want to go off and find another girl, and he definitely didn't want to forget about her. "Nell, I already told you earlier that I won't go and find another girl." Which he had, though he didn't know what she remembered of that. "But for your sake, I'll repeat it again and ask one more question." He was sure she must have a headache, so he was going to keep this short and sweet. "I don't want to go and find someone else, I'm happy with who I've already found, and that brings me to my question; Will you be my girlfriend?" He'd been trying to pluck up the courage to ask that ALL summer.

Addy nodded her head and then gave a DRAMATIC sigh. "Yeah, yeah, yeah! I don't typically lose, but when I do I always pay up." She couldn't help but give Vivi a small smile despite her sore loserness.

"And any clue why the Head Girl seems to be slaying you with her eyes?" WHAT a brat she was. Vivi was NEW here and had done nothing to her. Or had she? Heh! Who cared, really? Vivi was NEW and the badged people should try being nicer.

Addy felt her cheeks flush with color as Nathan pushed in beside her. He was like... touching her, they were seated so close. HEHEHE. No. He was not her boyfriend or anything. He might even have a girlfriend in that other one... No Giddy!Addy allowed!

"Oh me? Yeah. Pfffft. Of course I'm fine! Just skint my knee a little bit when I fell off of the seat. I had fallen asleep when it all happened," she said rather nonchalantly. And really that was NOT entirely true. She had smacked her head pretty good as well. But no need to worry anyone with it.

Oh. She was blushing.

Nathan grinned: "You are all red on the cheeks, you are very fine, then" he teased lightly. Reaching out for some juice at the Ravenclaw table as well. He really liked that juice, ok?

His gaze dropped to her knees - but he could see nothing, them being hidden under the table and all. "You sure you ok?"

"Taylor...He put something in the cookies..." He said as if it were an obvious fact.

Tay gave him a look, "No, Maxwell..." She sighed, "You just hate him for some odd reason."

What did that even mean? He made her all confused and stuff. SIGHS FOR LIFE. She brushed her fringe out of her eyes a little and shook her head. "You're a good friend to worry like that, but I am fine." Or she would be when she could breathe properly again. He made her react in strange ways...

"Enough of me, though. You're alright, yeah?"

Maxwell shook his head. "Taylor...think about it, have you eaten anything else anyone you don't know all that well has given you? I mean whatever happened to you is Magic they don't teach here...so it's someone who doesn't go here."

"Yeah, I mean I am constantly getting stuff from people." She laughed and smiled.

Some odd reason, his eyes followed her hand moment as she brushed away the hair strand - ..

She had really red hair .. Nathan liked it.

"I think I am fine .." he nodded, hand rising to touch where his head had bumped. He winced ever so slightly. So it hurt when he touched it. Great. So he was definitely sleeping with his face in the pillow tonight. Yep yep.

Maxwell sighed at her ignorance. "Taylor...Just promise me you'll see someone, if not the healer, maybe a teacher or something....Even if it's not Brodie it's not good.."

She nodded, "Just no healer..." Tay was still afraid of the healer. Taylor looked around, "Who?"

Addy saw the wince as he rubbed his head. "I saw that!" she said as she pointed her finger at him rather fiercely. This was a pot/kettle type of situation, but WHATEVER.

Taking his hand she made to try to pull them both from the bench. "You should see the Healer immediately." No progress was made with the pulling since she weighed next to nothing and he was a boy... BOYS tended to be far more solid and difficult to move. Ugh.

Why does he look so confused? Reaching back in her memory she tried to remember EXACTLY what she had said. Some of the details were fuzzy but she reached for it anyway. Then she realized it....some of the things she had said had been said to Issac....NOT Edmund.

Double crap.

Well this was awkward. Though she had definitely said some odd things to Edmund the worse by far had been in front of Issac. Nell hadn't seen him since he had handed her off to Edmund. She shuddered to think what he was going to do or say when she saw him again. One thing was for sure, she owed him a great big hug and a thank you.

Edmund pulled her from her thoughts at that moment. She listened to what he had to say with a small smile. Man he was awesome. Maybe she was a little insecure but could you blame a girl?! He was gorgeous! Nell waved her hand absently to indicate that he could ask his question. She would answer any question he had as honestly as she could. Though she was sure.....

Wait. WHAT?

Her mouth dropped open and her blue eyes went wide. His words were playing over and over in her head like a broken record but it took several seconds for her brain to process them. Girlfriend? His girlfriend?

Yes you idiot! He really did just ask you to be his girlfriend! Now shut your gaping mouth and say YES already!

Nell put her gaping fish routine to bed and answered with a huge smile. "Yes. I will be your girlfriend."

Maxwell shrugged. "Umm, Maybe your head of house after the feast." He said looking around.

"But but ... " he was close protesting but she was pulling at him already. Nathan shook his head lightly and got out of seat.

Before he could say anything, his eyes shifted to the boy and girl at the table .. deciding to be boyfriend and girlfriend.

Oh. How nice.

And public.

Awkwardly taking away his gaze away from them and back to Addy, the boy said: "I am sure the healer would like to eat too and I am sure it's nothing .. just a little pain" Nod nod.

She rapidly shook her head, "Please no... he is the quidditch referee... if he finds out then maybe I wont be able to play quidditch..." Tay pouted.
