Ravenclaw Ravenclaw Common Room

The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.

Come in, have a seat and make new friends. Welcome to Ravenclaw!

So she does know them, Eliza thought. She watched Cora turn to speak to them. Oh that’s nice. She’s introducing us. She suddenly got nervous as she walked with Cora towards them. “It’s nice to meet you too, Ethan.” She smiled at Cora in thanks for introducing her to more Ravenclaws. Oh no, he’s noticed she was crying. Quick, think! Not wanting to feel even more guilty for drudging up bad memories for her friend and not wanting Cora to have to get into it all over again, she tried her best to cover for her. She’d deal with the moral conflictions of lying to the boy later. “Oh, gosh! She’s okay, I just - ” she flapped her hand to her forehead and tried to laugh, “I was reaching to get in my bag, and I bumped heads with her.” She turned to Cora. “Sorry about that again, I promise it wasn’t on purpose!” Back to Ethan, “Anyway I think some of my hair got into her eyes.” She kept her eyes on his for a moment and gave an apologetic smile towards Cora again. Please don’t hate me, please don’t hate me, she thought to herself. She peeked at both of them. Convincing? Maybe...but now he'll think I'm a klutz forever. Or a liar. Super. If it helps Cora then I guess that's ok.

She thought she had done the right thing, protecting Cora from having to talk about personal things again, but... There. She saw it. The girl, Elliot, didn't believe her. Well, she wasn't going to ditch her story now, unless Cora wanted to come clean for the both of them. The story wasn't really hurting anyone so she looked right back at the older girl and went on.

"Well I don't think it was the bumping so much as the stabbing from my hair that made her eyes water." She tilted her head slightly and smiled at the girl. She didn't want any problems with her. In fact she was curious to get to know Cora's other friends. She held out her hand and said, "It's nice to meet you. I've seen you in some other classes." Please Cora, talk about something to make this less awkward! she pleaded inside. Maybe if I think reallllly hard she'll hear me. Maybe? "Do you have a favorite yet?" She glanced back to Ethan, "Either of you?"

Ethan's face turned from concern as he looked at Cora to speculation as his eyes landed on the first year. Eyes narrowing slightly as he listened to Eliza's explanation, the fifth year wasn't quick to believe her story. Not that it sounded far-fetched, really... it was more something in her tone or manner of speaking that gave the boy pause. And, to be honest, he wouldn't have given it another thought if it was only watery eyes from a minor accident... which it seemed that it wasn't... but why cover it up? Something else must be going on and he eyed the younger girl suspiciously.

Ethan glanced to Elliot as the girl repeated the younger's story. Yeah... she wasn't buying it either. He shot Elliot a smirk as she attempted to expose the young girl's lie... in her own, intimidating way. But he certainly didn't blame her... he did not like being lied to.

He looked once again at Cora, waiting to hear her side of it. "Is that what happened?" he asked, his expression softening considerably. If she confirmed Eliza's story - not that he would believe it - he would drop it... for now. That would only mean it was actually something she was not comfortable discussing.

Presley? Hmm. Didn't ring a bell. Was he that oblivious to his fellow housemates? Apparently. And it didn't really bother him. "Milton Shacklebolt. Pleasure." Or WAS it? That was to be decided because he was still suspicious of her. And everyone.
Why was he acting so weird? Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. Well, now she was practically committed to the idea. She was going to at least make an attempt, and if she failed, she might come out the other end with another friend at least. "Pleasure to meet you too, Milton."

Now what? Now, according to her diplomacy lessons, was when she asked him about his interests and hobbies, right? "You're the quidditch captain, right?" Obviously. But he didn't know that she knew that, right? He didn't know that she followed quidditch obsessively, and as long as he didn't know, it was okay to ask obvious questions like that.

Chose the wrong school? Ethan could not disagree more. He would go back there in a heartbeat had he the choice. But here he was and here he would make the best of it... Yep, that was worry on her face, now he was sure of it. "She'll be fine," Ethan offered the girl a reassuring smile. "And it's helpful that she can speak French... even if she's not all that fluent... she'll pick it up really fast." It was a good head start.

"Surely, you've heard from her though?" Even if Ethan had been trying to put the suddenly-concerned girl at ease, nothing would make her feel more relieved than hearing from her sister herself. And being a month or so into the term, he figured the sisters must've owled each other at some point.

Oh that was good. "Charmed to make your acquaintance, Miss Morganzo," the boy replied, his accent heavily affected. His light snicker soon turned into a laugh as he suddenly found the girl quite amusing. He wasn't entirely sure she wasn't serious, but she was just so over-the-top that he couldn't help but find that funny.

The boy glanced back up at the ghost as Elliot explained who she was. Our ghost? As in each house had its own ghost? Bizarre... The boy didn't give the specter much more thought because 1. she wasn't doing anything but be boring now and 2. Cora was approaching.

"Hi Cora," Ethan said, his face lighting up as his friend came closer. "We, uh... just met," he answered, shooting a glance to Elliot. "Are you two... friends?" he asked tentatively as he turned back to Cora. That he still was unsure of... maybe they knew each other since they were toddlers... they seemed to be such polar opposites there had to be some sort of explanation. Ethan tilted his head as she came nearer and his face fell. He knew that look. He had seen it before on his mother and a couple girls he knew at Beauxbatons. The girl had been crying.

As the girl introduced her younger companion, Ethan managed a small smile and said, "Nice to meet you Eliza.. I'm Ethan." But he couldn't help but turn his attention back to the fourth year. "Cora... is everything alright?"

Cora smiled as she noticed Ethan so glad to see her. So they just met, Cora thought. That should have been clear, since what looked like an argument earlier was surely not one between friends, at least for now. Ethan seemed surprised that she was friends with Elliot, which Cora could understand. They were just so opposite. But Cora saw the best in others, and saw what was beneath Elliot. She had wanted to say all this, yet was still recovering, so she managed only, "Yes, we met before our first year at Diagon Alley." Cora was so terrified of Hogwarts back then.

Cora froze up as she realized Ethan noticed she was sad. Guess she didn't fool anyone. She did NOT want this to be about her and her problems. She did think it was sweet of him to care, but no words left Cora.

Maybe you just don't use it often. Cora pondered what this could mean, but would not bring it up now.

She stared at Ethan, not sure of what to say. She did not want to bring up the story again so soon, it had happened long ago and Cora should be over it right now. What was Eliza doing?!! Cora tensed a bit, and then took a deep breath. Eliza was covering up for her.

Would Elliot and Ethan believe this? Cora was doubtful. Not to mention the WORST liar in history. Cora knew she should back up this story, and hesitated nervously at first. With a desperate and relieved look to Eliza, Cora smiled slightly. Then, pushing her brown curls from her face, she nodded in agreement with Eliza. Cora wanted to reassure her friends, but there was NO WAY they would believe her. Was there? No. Cora promised to explain this all eventually, with whoever asked. Her father was not a light subject, and Cora hated ruining the mood. Of course, if they pushed, Cora was not one to refuse.

Cora always got the feeling that Elliot saw through everything. She was Cora's closest friend, only one of two from first year. She couldn't just lie to her, could she? Cora supposed that if Elliot could tell what Cora was thinking then it wouldn't really be a lie, after all.

Cora was relieved that Elliot was being nice to Eliza (for now). She didn't quite expect that. Elliot's skeptical smirk told Cora she DEFINITELY knew something was up. Cora decided to play along until she was called out on it, so as her cheeks grew redder, she repeated. "Yes, we bumped heads. And um, there aren't any bumps because well, it just happened. Probably will show up soon." Cora said casually. She actually thought she sounded convincing, although she secretly hoped Eliza had gone for something more fail-proof. She was relieved that her face was drying up now, and hoped her eyes didn't show any signs of redness.

Cora could sense Eliza feeling uncomfortable, and knew she should be speaking up more. She had been silent for too long, and that would definitely go noticed. Not like Cora was so outspoken to begin with, but she was responsible for contributing every now and again.

Oh no. Ethan was definitely not buying the story. Cora sighed inside. She had to break her silence at some point, and took a deep breath. When Ethan turned back to her, his soft voice made Cora feel so guilty.

Her eyes locked with his, and she knew she just could NOT lie to Ethan. Or Elliot. She would feel bad about it. Elliot's words "too nice" echoed in her head, but Cora figured for her friends it was different. She considered things for a moment, and then heard, "is that what happened?" Ethan's concerned look made it so she couldn't look away. She couldn't remember if she was breathing, and then spoke. "Actually, that isn't true."

Cora looked at the ground. Be brave. "Eliza was just trying to be nice. Thank you, by the way." She looked to Elliot, hoping she wouldn't be angry. "It's nothing, really. I was just telling Eliza about how my father...died. It happened a while ago. Not quite something I like to talk about, though." Cora said this stronger than when she began. Please don't feel sorry for me. Cora did not want all of this attention, but they needed to know.

She felt her stomach flop and the blood drain from her face. She opened her mouth and took a small gasp of air. Now they're really going to hate me she thought. She had only been trying to help, but she'd known it was wrong to lie. I should've just let Cora handle it on her own. And although she should have kept her mouth shut, she still couldn't picture herself hanging Cora out to dry.

Oh thank goodness, she thought as Cora explained why Eliza had lied. She stood firm and looked at Ethan and Elliot, hoping they'd understand, but also showing them that if they snubbed her for this she would still feel she'd done what she thought was best. She gave a sideways smile to Cora, to apologize for putting her in this situation and to thank her for trying to get them out of it.

Milton eyed her for a moment. This girl was veeeeery curious to him. Curious indeed... She wanted something from him, didn't she? Because she was asking a lot of questions kind of. And she asked if he was the quidditch captain. Pfff. Everyone knew he was the quidditch captain. That was Milton logic, anyway.

"I am indeed," he said with a hint of a smirk before taking a seat on the arm chair next to her. He was intrigued now.

Elliot was...confused...how did hair stab? Was that possible? Hmph. She stared suspiciously at the girl...she was young. She was fresh. And very...readable. Elliot wasn't stupid. BUt she played along...for now. "Eliza...I'm Elliot. Elliot Morganzo. You're a first year?" she asked, her voice's tone a bit like...stone? Because she was withholding judgment..for now. "My favorite class? Transfiguration. Why? Because I'm excellent at it." No other reason was needed...she sent a smirk to Ethan...hehehe. The homework room...poor guy had to endure she and Minnie...

When she met his eyes, she knew...they both agreed! This youngling was totally lying! Why, though? Because you didn't lie without a reason! Hmm. Elliot just didn't get it. She shot a look at Cora, now...waiting for her response...

Cora saaaaid that was the truth, but Elliot narrowed her eyes...come on, sweetie? You think Elliot is that thick?! But she didn't call her out on it. ..for now. For now for now FOR NOW. HMPH...

But then she confessed it all...OH Merlin. About her..father? ELliot couldn't help but be a bit offended...she had told this stupid little firstie something that she hadn't even told Elliot yet?! Elliot cleared her throat, though and tried not to seem too...pouty. "I see. We don't need to talk about it again, though...since..." yeah. It seemed to have made Cora upset.

Elliot was a bit...jealous, yeah.

She raised her eyebrows at Eliza..."Good kid, lying for a friend." She said with an approving nod, however jealous she felt...hmph.

"Yeah, that's right. I'm a first year." She figured it was easy to spot anyway and she'd probably only been asking to put her in her place a little bit, but that was okay. She had just lied to her. Elliot was allowed to be a little condescending, for the moment. "Oh, transfiguration was...an interesting lesson." She gave another invisible eye roll when she thought of how that older boy had been doing some sort of rock star routine with the girls in class. Since Elliot hadn't asked Eliza what her about her classes in return, she thought it was safe to say that Elliot didn't care. Knowing she herself had only asked as a conversation filler anyway, she wasn't too offended by it. The older girl certainly was sure of herself though, but maybe that was still part of the high and mighty "I know you're lying" role.

Uh oh. What was that in Elliot's expression when Cora had confessed? Not...mad, she didn't think. That was a good sign. But there was something else. She was...hurt? No. Eliza didn't think her little lie had hurt anyone's feelings. If it had, she would apologize right away. She wasn't really sure, but she would make it a point to not aggravate the girl any further, unless it was necessary.

Still a bit puzzled about how Elliot was feeling, she realized she was now addressing her. Did she just...approve of my lying to her? Eliza hadn't expected that, but she was glad the girl didn't hate her guts. So Elliot understands, that's good. Hopefully Ethan is as level-headed. She looked at Elliot and sincerely said, "Thanks... I um, I'm sorry I lied to you." She shrugged and gave a look that said "you know how it is". Still wanting to smooth things over a bit more, she added, "Cora probably would't have gotten into it had I not been so curious." She added a quick, "Sorry." Whether she meant it more for Cora or the other two she wasn't quite sure. All she knew was Cora didn't want to talk about this anymore, so she asked Elliot another question. People like to talk about themselves right? She hoped this whole thing could blow over and Cora could relax again. "Hey, sorry I forgot, but what year are you again, Elliot?"

"Ooookaaay..." She had a right to be there... Riiiiight. He knew that, obviously. But it was just RANDOM that she RANDOMLY came over to them, said hello, and then sat down and started reading a textbook.

Or... maybe he was just being overly suspicious. But that was kind of a Milton thing.

Presley? Hmm. Didn't ring a bell. Was he that oblivious to his fellow housemates? Apparently. And it didn't really bother him. "Milton Shacklebolt. Pleasure." Or WAS it? That was to be decided because he was still suspicious of her. And everyone.
...

"Well Yoda didn't deserve to be vommed on." So your argument is invalid. Ha! INVALIDDDD. And why was he being half way pleasant to this girl? Why wasn't he amiable to HER? How rude.

This was boring her immensely. IMMENSELY.

Heh. Milton was sitting down. In a chair. Addy grinned a bit and moved toward him slowly. Inching along so as not to be noticed? Not that he could miss her there...

then BAM! Addy sat right on Milton Shacklebolt. Right. On. Him. Yep. Funny enough he wasn't as uncomfortable as she would have thought, either. Hehehe.

Yep. Nothing odd about any of this. Addy just pretended there was nothing out of the ordinary about her sitting upon the QC. If he had shown her his abs he would not have been sat upon.

So continue talking other person.

People like to talk about themselves right? She hoped this whole thing could blow over and Cora could relax again. "Hey, sorry I forgot, but what year are you again, Elliot?"
Ethan kept his eyes on Cora as she confirmed Eliza's story. He nodded skeptically, he could tell it wasn't true - those bright red cheeks were a dead giveaway - but if she didn't want to tell him what was really going on, then perhaps it was something personal that wasn't his business. He wouldn't pry any further.

The fifth year shifted uncomfortably in his seat and opened his mouth to change the subject or relieve the tension... when Cora began to confess the truth. Oh.. Ethan's eyes widened slightly and his face fell a bit. Her father.. died? The fifteen year old felt really bad - not so much in pity, though he did feel some sympathy for the girl... but more for putting her on the spot when she obviously didn't want to share that. "Look, Cora... I'm really sorry," he began, he had only been concerned for her well-being and didn't mean to make her feel worse. "Of course we don't have to talk about that..." He glanced over at Elliot as she shared his sentiments... only in a much different tone. He contemplated what that might mean for a moment when he heard her next words and frowned. That sounded like something his mother would say. He could not say he agreed with lying... but he sorta understood why the younger girl did it. But maybe she could have handled it differently.. or just left it up to Cora.

It didn't really matter now though, and he could tell Eliza felt very uncomfortable, especially under Elliot's scrutiny. As she kept apologizing, Ethan said, "Hey... don't worry about it." Best to just change the subject... and Eliza seemed to be trying to do so as she asked them about their classes. "Herbology's always been my favorite... anything you like yet?" he asked the first year. The first year at school always seemed to be the most overwhelming. Transfiguration? He took one look at Elliot's smirk and chuckled. Homework had definitely proved to be interesting...

That was not only completely rude, it was so socially inapropriate! Presley's eyebrows pulled together in confusion as she tried to figure out what in the name of Merlin had made this girl think it was okay to just surprise someone by sitting on them!

Maybe she was his girlfriend? Because that would mean it was okay. But it would also mean that Presley's objective wouldn't work with Milton. But maybe he could be her friend? Presley needed a friend who had never read her name in Witch Weekly, and had never heard the rumors about her mum and dad. Milton could be good for that at least. He hadn't reacted much to her name when she introduced herself. But still, it was weird to sit on his lap like that after almost leaving.

Surprisingly, this girl was the first to ask Milton if he was going to continue quidditch after Hogwarts. He just shrugged. "I dunno, probably not. I'm not that great." And that wasn't him doubting himself, he just knew he wasn't good enough to go pro. Not that he really wanted to, anyway. Quidditch was fun, but he had a feeling that once it became your life, it got pretty lame.

O__O

Okay. Um. Crazy!Ging was sitting on his lap. That was... totally normal? NOT. Wasn't their conversation over? Milton had found something much more interesting than a ginger and her fat cat now. So, Milton shoved Addy off of his lap and turned back to Presley because he was STILL positive she was after something. "And what about you?" Milton asked the girl casually, as if nothing had just happened. "Are you a quidditch fan?"

Dustin was FREAKING out. The quidditch match was less than a week away and he was supposed to be playing chaser. Chaser? He could barely handle a beater's bat. How was he supposed to be able to score goals? He hadn't even tried out for that position. What was Captain Sir even thinking?

He sat in the common room under the pretense that he would be doing homework, but all he could do was stare at the wall from his chair, eyes glazed over. Scenario after scenario played through his head. What if he had terrible aim? What if he wasn't even strong enough to throw the ball far enough? WHAT IF HIS ARM FELL OFF?

Elise walked into the common room, a folder full of the week's notes that she had scribbled messily in class and a new roll of parchment. She was going to re-do her notes, just so that she could understand them. Yes, her notes were that messy. She had scribbled in every direction imaginable. Thank Merlin her ink changed colour for the different points.

Flopping down onto a chair, she hunched over her papers, sorting them out by subject before looking up. There was a first year there, staring through her head and looking pretty freaked out. "You okay?" she asked, inking her quill and starting on her Divination notes.

Thankfully Ethan caught her feeling and decided to move on as well. "Herbology? I missed the first lesson." She was still a little embarrassed at how lost she was when she first got her schedule. She was lucky she'd made it to any of her lessons at all. She definitely planned on making it to the second one though, and hopefully catching up on the homework in the meantime. She was curious so she asked, "What did you do in class? She was pleased that he asked her in return and thought about it for a moment. "Well, I think Charms is really neat, but class was a little intense." She shivered as she thought back to the whipping winds and hard rain they'd all experienced that day. "I still reckon it's really good to learn though!" She wanted to ask another question without acting like a complete first year, but she couldn't help it. She didn't know anything and wanted to know everything. She pushed forward in the conversation and said, "I'm really interested in Ancient Runes too, but I don't know much about it. Have you taken it before?" She hoped he was as much of a studious Ravenclaw type as she was and wouldn't be bothered by all the class questions.

Whoops. Presley hadn't meant to lead the conversation to him putting himself down. That wasn't good at all. She smiled brightly "I'm sure you are great." Though she couldn't actually recall ever seeing him play, which was strange, because she went to every quidditch game. Every one.

Presley laughed lightly when Milton pushed the weirdo off of his lap. It was super bizarre of her. And obviously they weren't dating, because he'd just pushed her. Good.

Conversation on Presley. Not good. "My brother is on the Broom Features Development Team at the Ministry," Presley shrugged, avoiding the question, but giving an answer where he could infer anything he wanted. Her brother had just released his new super-cool feature where if you fell off your broom the invisible net charm caught you and another charm froze your breoom where it was simultaneously. Way awesome, even if her had used Presley as a guinea pig in the early stages of the features development. Time to redirect the topic. "So, what do you think you want to do after you graduate?" Since he'd already said he wouldn't be pursuing quidditch.

Cora gasped. She didn't know how things had turned so confusing for her. Her head was spinning. Her normal emotion was happy. Nervous, shy, maybe, but that was it.

Now she was so many things. First, she felt bad for making Eliza a bit uncomfortable. She hadn't really thought of Eliza as a first year, and was somewhat unprepared for the awkwardness. Second, she was uncomfortable with the fact that Elliot might judge her a bit for being friends with Eliza. Normally, Cora wouldn't care about age, or anything, but for some reason it mattered in this instant. Cora felt terrible for lying to Elliot and Ethan, even if only for a second. Now, Eliza felt uncomfortable and guilty, Elliot was not TOO mean to Eliza, but still. AND Ethan felt bad for having forced it out of her. And Cora felt bad that Ethan felt bad. And had to deal with all this nonsense.

Most of her problems now stemmed from being guilty that she had made her friends feel bad.

And most importantly, Cora felt awful about not having told Elliot about her dad first. Eliza had just pulled it out of her, and Cora had WANTED to say something to Elliot. Even before Elliot's disappointed expression, Cora had been feeling terrible. This was the only real reason Cora had attempted to lie.

Cora looked pleadingly at Elliot, wishing Elliot could read her mind. I had wanted to tell you, I just didn't know how. And you had so much to deal with. It had really happened a long time ago. No need to be all dramatic telling the world, right? But Cora would absolutely tell Elliot the whole story if she asked. But not now.

Now her three friends were chatting away about classes and things with no help from Cora, who was so confused. Why did she ALWAYS do things wrong? Cora forced herself to focus on the conversation. Ethan mentioned Herbology. Where they had met. And that brought up more confusion. Cora fought back new tears. This was ridiculous. She would be a normal person in a normal conversation. Everyone had dropped everything so she wouldn't feel bad, but now Cora still did anyway. She had an overwhelming urge to just run from the room, even though all her friends were here.

"I'm so sorry for being so unlike myself." Cora, the attention-seeker. Nope. This wasn't right. "Herbology's my favorite class so far," she said with a smile. "But I missed Care of Magical Creatures, so who knows." Cora knew that SHOULD be her favorite class. Animals make so much more sense than people. She looked at everyone, trying to read their expressions, her usual insight on how everyone felt clouded by the somersaults happening in her brain.

After finally reaching the common room and giving a sloppy answer to the knocker, Lily carefully climbed through the portrait hole. She stepped in just far enough for Tay to come in also. "I'm gonna run up to my dorm and take my winter cloak off and slip on a long sleeve shirt. Meet you over by the fireplace in five." That way if Tay needed to go up to her dorm room, she would be able to.

Lily headed up to her room and a couple of minutes later, she was coming back down. She headed across the fairly empty common room and grabbed a seat near the fire. She sat facing the common room, her back towards the fire, since she needed to keep an eye out for the one she was trying to avoid. Because she had taken her outer cloak off, anyone could easily tell that she had a black wrist brace on, and that her wrist seemed very swollen. The redhead didn't seem to be in much pain as she waited for her friend to come back down from the dorms.

Taylor bounced up the stairs and threw on a sweater and a long sleeve shirt since she froze her butt off going outside in a tanktop. She came back down and plopped down next to Lily. Tay glanced and saw that her friend's wrist was very swollen. A frown instantly came to her face, "Shall we take you to the healer's?" Taylor gestured to Lily's wrist.

Lily was somewhat paranoid about sitting out in the open in the common room. She was fiddling with her wrist brace, trying to not think of the pain. But soon Tay was coming down the stairs so the redhead could think of other things.... NOT. Her friend must have noticed the brace, or the swelling. Either way, Lily didn't exactly like what came next. "No... not the healer... anyone but the healer. Please..." The redhead pleaded with Taylor. She would even be more willing to see the person who she had been avoiding if it meant that she wouldn't have to see the healer. Instinctively, the claw's hand was drawn to her injured wrist. Why did her wrist not want to heal on it's own like last year??

Taylor nodded, "Okay, I wont make you go to the healer because I dont like the healer either..." She sighed, "Want me to ice it to bring down the swelling? If it is broken, I can try Episky like my momma does when she heals broken bones... that is if it is broken." Yeah, she was rambling a little.

Default O__O so many.
A Poop * k8 *

She eyed the kid.."I could tell. You're puny..." yeah, like Elliot had room to talk. She hadn't grown in, like, a whole year. She stood at 5' 3" ....weird. She was taller than this firstie...Eliza. "Fourth. Mighty, mighty, fourth year." She nodded. SO BOW DOWN, KID! Heheee! She didn't say this aloud...but it amused her...she was not a good person to give any sort of power to!

Ew! Herbology, Ethan?! Elliot eyed him. "I'm not good at Herbology. I'll help you with Transfiguration, if you help ME with that...horrible plant subject." Yeah. Plants sucked. Elliot didn't understand them. It all seemed scientifically to her...and she hated science. Words and magic..that's what she was good at! She turned to the first year, again..

"CHarms is usually my second favorite...but that lessons WAS rough..I almost died..." she sighed, shaking her head. And she had almost been buried alive by that annoying puffer Sophie...UGH. The memory of that lesson made her head hurt all over agaaaain!

Cora was being awfully quiet, now. Elliot wasn't that oblivious.."We made you feel uncomfortable, didn't we?" she asked suddenly..she was never one to go the round about way. She liked to get TO THE POINT. "Sorry." Yeah, her voice was gruff..she hated saying sorry.

OH NO! "Cora...you missd it?! Oh Merlin! It was the best one! We got to take care of these cute little firecrabs...they have jewels in their shells!" she said with an excited grin...her blue eyes alight wit eagerness....because she had LOVED HER FIRECRAB!! "If you want, I will accompany you to go see the new professor...I'm sure she would help you get up to speed with it..."

Something snapped him out of his daze. It could have been that girl who was standing in front of him. Or it could have been the fly that landed on his nose that he was trying desperately to use The Force to squish. Or it could have been the fact that he had to go pee.

"WHAT IF MY ARM FALLS OFF?!" he squealed. He hadn't even noticed the girl had asked him a question, but HE NEEDED TO KNOW.

As soon as he realized that he MIGHT LOSE HIS ARM, he decided that he would need to use it as much as possible before it fell off. As such, he immediately started scribbling on his notes, trying to get the blood flowing before tackling the mountain of homework he should have been doing instead of worrying about the well-being of his arm.

She must have misunderstood. "Well, I AM great." Duh. "Just not good enough for a professional league. Besides, I don't want to go pro anyways. It's too time-consuming and restricting." Shrug. He didn't want to live a life of set schedules and intense physical training and having to be certain places at certain times. He wanted to play quidditch, exercise, and travel at his leisure.

Okaaay...? Milton didn't remember asking about her brother. Probably because he didn't, but whatever. Everybody had their secrets and Milton certainly had his, so he wouldn't question. "Interesting. Tell him to make comfier seats." Merlin only knew how sore his butt was after each match. Ugh. And the conversation was back to him? Alright. Milton shrugged again. "Dunno. My dad owns a pub in Dublin, sort of like the Leaky Cauldron. So I'll probably end up working there. It's pretty cool. Pretty famous, too." You know, being a Shacklebolt and all. Not to BRAG, but... yeah, he was bragging.

Pres nodded at his explanation of why he wasn't planning on Pro Quidditch. It really did make perfect sense to her. Life full of restrictions, being required to go somewhere you didn't want to be at that moment, and put on a show for other people? It was what she'd always lived with, but she wouldn't wish it on anybody else, even if it was a choice in thier case. "Got'cha," she smiled.

She laughed. "I agree. Those brooms aren't very comfy at all. You could get a leisure broom, with wider and comfier seats, but it isn't exactly built for high speed maneuvering. Can you imagine doing to wronski feint on a family sized broom? I guess you have to put up with a little discomfort for the sake of the sport." She clapped her hand over her mouth. There she had gone, showing her nerdiness all over the place. She hadn't meant to do that.

The fifth year wanted to exclaim about how much she'd loved Dublin the three times she'd been there, but that would be giving out information about her messed up family. And at this point, Presley didn't trust that information to anyone except for Elliot Morganzo, and Professor Bentley. Most of the time, when people knew, they treated her differently. She was kind of enjoying this conversation entirely about someone else. "That's so cool!" she said instead. Then the first almost untrue thing she'd said since starting this conversation, "I wish I could go to Dublin!" Almost untrue because she really did wish she could visit Dublin again, but the way she said it made it seem as if she'd never been, and that was a lie.

Lily sat kinda hunched over as Taylor responded to her. "It's fine.... I don't think it's broken...." The third year deep down kinda knew that it was pretty badly injured but she didn't think it was broken. She did her best not to let the pain show in her face, but it had to be pretty obvious in her body language. She needed to do something about her wrist but wasn't willing to go to the healer about it, so they needed to find someone else to help. Somebody who had done something similar to this in the past...not terribly long ago.
