The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.
Come in, have a seat and make new friends. Welcome to Ravenclaw!
Elliot nodded, turning from Mick and winking at Jayden. "It's nice to bloody well be back!" she cried, stroking the letters on her potions' book absentmindedly...
Ahhh.
Divination. She scowled. "I quit that class..it's rubbish.." she rolled her eyes. "But yeah...I heard that others were open...Max said Gryffindor's were open..so...I tried this one just now..and it WORKED!" she smirked. "SO glad...now I can read in front of the fireplace...sleep in my OWN bed and not in some stupid sleeping bag.." she scoffed again. Because Empress Elliot was NOT used to such...sleeping conditions. Not at alll!
She crossed her ankles and dug around in her bag for her quill and some spare parchment..right...to start a letter to home.."Hey, Jay! Did you hear about that plant eating a professor?!" she asked, her eyes suddenly lifting up to meet hers, wide and shocked looking...hehe.
"Me too! Me too!" Jayden shouted, hugging Elliot again before dancing around the common room and returning. "Wait, a professor? Surely it wasn't Professor Bentley, right? Riiiiight?" Professor Bentley was one of Jayden's favourite instructors. Hopefully it wasn't her otherwise she was going to freak out!
She sat down again before struggling with her knapsack. It was getting pretty worn out. She had had it for the past five years, so it was becoming time to get a new one.
"So, any big plans for the Summer Holidays?" She asked, raising a brow at Elliot.

She saw his...look away. Hmm. Must be a personal reason of some sort...weird. WEIRD. She actually didn't press the subject, for ONCE, and just let him..look out the window or wherever.
Oh?
Another person..Elliot flashed him a rare grin. "Really? I feel honored that you told meeee!" she said, a bit happily..LAura? "Oh..Laura..." she wondered...was there only ONE Laura in school?! She HAD to know.."L-Laura who?" she asked curiously, casually, tilting her head to the side...as if this were a perfectly..normal..question..
Right....
Mick shifted his body in the chair, sitting on it sideways with his long legs hanging out, just getting comfortable. "Hey, it's okay. You can call me 'Michael' if you want." He said it calm and casual like it was nothing. After thinking it over as Elliot spoke, it really wasn't. His dad and aunt still call him Michael; he can't say the same thing about Grampi, he just likes to call him Alex for some reason (middle name reference?). "I can't control what you call me. I do prefer Mick but it's your choice."
It made him wonder, does Laura want to call him by his real first name? Would it make him a bad boyfriend if he let another girl, instead of the one he's dating, call him by that name? This is so new and confusing.
Whoa! Mick was surprised by her smile, he didn't think he ever saw Elliot smile. Maybe she did once and he wasn't paying attention. And why was he making her grin a big deal? Don't know. He smiled back and said so freely, "Laura Hyde - Hufflepuff. I mean, that's the person I told before you. Do you know her?" That would be cool if it turns out that they knew each other, maybe even are friends too.

Elliot winced a bit at the hug, but patted Jayden back, letting it slide...for now. Few people were allowed to hug her..Jayden was one of them, she supposed. Yeah, she could totally let her. Uh huh.
She shook her head..'no..that new crazy stupid Astronomy teacher..Burbage.." she shrugged. She didn't care for that woman anyways. Thank MERLIN. "She was super annoying, though.." she shrugged.
Summer...Elliot shrugged again..."as of now, nothing. Max and I wanted to go somewhere, but we haven't exactly planned it. I start training with father...Occlumency lessons.." she rolled her eyes. "But yeah...I'm free the whole summer..." Ish. Did Jay want to meet up with her? Because that would be so awesome! Heh. And she might be able to get away from her father..which would be nice...

Elliot shrugged. "I used to be really opposed to nicknames. But I use them all the time, now. So if you want to be called Mick, then fiine..." she rolled her eyes, though. Because Michael was a beautiful name! Hmmph!
She saw his features when she smiled...and raised her eyebrows...hehe. What? Elliot COULD smile. She just USUALLY chose not to. Only when it came naturally. So..rarely. Heh.
OH. NO.
Laura...
Laura Hyde...
MERLIN.
Elliot thought she might die...and she would have...but then she noticed his smile and just...she frowned..."You-you go out with Laura?!" she asked, more like crieeed out, in...shock! "B-but you seem so nice!" way too good for LAURA. Who was iNSANE (and Elliot wasn''t..insane..at all..*cough* ) "No offense. I hate her." She said bluntly, getting it out there...no need to..go around the bush about it. Her eyes narrowed, and the blue irises were fiery with ...MEEHH.

It fascinated Mick so much that it bothered him - Elliot is waaaay different from Laura. The latter is so energetic, hilarious, and thinks everything about him is awesome, no matter what. The former is kind of more serious and has no problem telling him her thoughts. He couldn't understand why he was making it a big deal in his head; maybe because until this moment, he assumed that all girls are the same. Until today, everything was beginning to make sense. Mick wasn't so sure anymore.
His smile instantly vanished when Elliot appeared so....So surprised. He couldn't put his finger on it, he thought everyone likes Laura. She's so nice and adorable, who wouldn't? Well, apparently Miss Morganzo. Hates her? I seem so nice? "What's wrong with her?" Mick asked. "Why do you hate her? How can you hate her?" This began to bother him, why was it bothering him? He had no clue, but it was like the world was crashing. Her looked down at his lap, not knowing what else he could say. He learned when he was younger that not everyone is going to like him. But what does one do when not everyone likes the girl one is dating? Maybe it's not a big deal? I tend to make a big deal out of nothing...
But why?

"Ohmygoodnessreally?" Jayden blurted out excitedly. "Does this mean no more final exams in Astronomy?" She asked, raising a brow. She had barely paid ANY attention in that class at all this year. And then Elliot revealed the fact that she had practically no life this summer.
AWESOME.
Rifling in her knapsack she pulled out a small envelope, and handed it to Elliot. "It's for you..."
Inside of that envelope was a rather pretty, laced piece of stationary.
SPOILER!!: Ticket!

But why?
Elliot saw his facial expression. he looked something like...upset...or confused...or both. Meh. She didn't understand feelings that well herself. Nor was she remotely sensitive to other's feelings. Empathy was not something intrinsic to her. She studied his features for a second, debating whether to be brutally honest, if he could handle that.
Nopppeee.
It didn't look like he could. She raised an eyebrow. "I mean. It's sort of... a mutual hate...if you ask her about me she'll say the same thing. Mostly it's because I'm not that nice," she smirked, raising her hand to brush some of her hair behind her ear. "She and I..we just don't see eye to eye..." she shrugged. That was reason enough to hate someone, right? People always said hate was a strong word. But Elliot hated lots of things. Her father's tendencies, her mother's...bleghness, her brother's existence...being home...she hated hufflepuffs just as a general rule. But did she hate Laura? MEh. Maybe she didn't HATE Laura. Just disliked her. Because honestly, if Elliot wasn't so proud, and Laura, too, they just might be friends. Both very strong independent girls. But Elliot...just too much history for her to ever like Laura, really.
"But she's your girlfriend..you obviously see..something in her." She shrugged. She could understand that. People often told Max that he was dating an evil psycho...but he swore left and right how deep down, maybe Elliot was good.
Meh.
It didn't matter to Elliot either way.

She eyed the envelope..was it a party invitation or something? Hmm. she opened it, and laughed at the stationary...she was distracted for a second by its...PRETTINESS. She ran her fingers over it, rubbing the small letters.
heeehh!
And then she read it...WHOAH! She grinned. She looked up at Jayden. Had she been another person, like, not Elliot, she would have given her a BIIIGHUG."I've never been to Hawaii before! Ah! We have to go bathing suit shopping together, Jay! When exactly is the trip?" she asked, her voice obviously filled with bubbling EXCITEMENT.
Elliot rarely got to go to beaches...her father despised them. ANd Hawaii..wasn't it, ilke, NOTHING BUT A BIG BEACH?! HEh! And she had heard it was beaaautifuuuul! GAH! She loved Jaydennnn! Hehehe.

Complications have sprung up out of nowhere and Mick felt unprotected. He didn't know if he should be worried or not, then again, he doesn't know much about these sort of things. This, especially, was something that he didn't know if he could just shrug off. He didn't have any real problem with Elliot, but what can a person do when someone just plain doesn't like his girlfriend? And what would Laura say about Mick being friends (?) with Elliot?
I should probably ask Ellie if I'm allowed to think of myself as her friend? Can I call her Ellie, as well? Would she mind? Nah, I'm sure she won't.
No matter...maybe he could get them to settle whatever it is that stands between them. Poor naive Michael...The same kind of naivety that gets him into trouble. And just like, whatever visible confusion he had just melted away as he smiled and glanced at Elliot. Geez, people from space can see the hopefulness in his blue eyes. He was thinking of a plan. "Ellie? Is there anyway you two could be friends? Anyway at all?" he kindly asked.
