The prefects have their own compartment at the front of the train. Sometimes they hold meetings up here and sometimes special guests ride along with them.
Prefects only, please, unless you have been invited in or need assistance!

It took a while to push pass all the annoying people still on the platform sobbing and hugging but she finally made it into the train. Under normal circumstances she probably would've been a part of the goodbye but 'cept she and Alice had a mission. It would've been even more successful if they got there first so she didn't have much time to waste. Every few minutes she glanced behind her to make sure Alice and Penelope were still there before continuing.
Finally at the front of the train she threw open the door to the Prefect's Compartment and hurried inside, leaving it open for the other two.
Hmm...
Empty.
Good. They would sit and WAIT for the prefects to get here. Before the ride was over she wanted to see a few of the seventh years again and this was the only way because they were prefects, or in Louisa's case, the Head Girl. No one ever made anything easy. SIGH. "They're not here..." She said, turning to them once she was inside.

Alice tiptoed into the Prefects' compartment. Empty? GOOD. She didn't want to be seen until Kurumi was here.. someone would surely kick her out, right? But she needed to catch her and Selina before they left. Plus, she had her Beater's bat— the one that Selina had given to her— nearby, just in case someone appeared and tried to pull her out of there. SHE WOULD USE IT. Beware. She would also bite. The girl hadn't been nicknamed 'the Biter' during Quidditch season for nothing, you know. Those teeth were good for more than getting the Quaffle.
NOW. WHERE was her precious ickle?
"LEXIPOO," Alice whined, "You're going too fast. Wait for meee." She followed Lex around the apartment, waiting. "Good. Now, we just sit and wait for them to come by. And you're SURE Selina is going to bring Vivi, right?" yes. Of course she would. Vivi HAD to sit in here.
And so they waited.

Penelope had noticed Alexa and Alice wandering off and looking sorta shifty so she decided to follow them and see what they were up to. Wasn't like she really had anything else to do anyway except find a compartment, which she was sure she could do in a little while. Maybe she'd just sit with Alexa and Alice if they didn't mind.
But apparently, they were headed for the prefect compartment...? Penelope knew people who weren't prefects weren't supposed to be in there since she'd accidentally stumbled in there on her first train ride...but hey, wouldn't hurt to check it out again, right? She wanted to know what the other two Gryffindors were doing there anyway.
"Hey guys," she said as she entered, sorta surprised that no prefects were actually here yet. Well, that was cool. "Whatcha doing?"

WAS THAT A NOISE OUTSIDE?!
WAS THAT A PREFECT?!
.. Oh. Penelope. Alice exhaled, relieved, and grinned at her friend. "Hey," she greeted, peeking behind the girl and slamming the compartment door shut. "We're waiting for Kurumi, Selina, and, hopefully, Vivi. Wanna stay with us?" She had to. Didn't she want to say bye to Selina.. for the last time? Sigh. It was so sad. WHY WERE THEY LEAVING THEM? .. No. The point of this wasn't to make them feel bad. It was for closure. And only closure. The Gryffindor sighed and took her seat once more, awaiting the Prefects.

Oh? Waiting for Kurumi, Selina, and Vivi? Kurumi and Vivi were both seventh years, Penelope was pretty sure, so she figured the two Gryffindors were here to say final good-byes to them. But Selina? She was only a sixth year, wasn't she? Why would they need to wait for her? Not that they shouldn't, of course, since Selina was still one of their friends, but it wasn't the same as saying good bye to graduates.
"Why Selina?" she asked, though she nodded in agreement to stay with them and took a seat in an empty spot.
And speaking of "spot"...the little cat scampered in when Penelope sat down and jumped up in her lap. Merlin, had she gotten out of her cage box thing in the random compartment where she'd stored her things? Penelope was gonna have to get a new one now apparently.

Vivi promised Selina they'd sit together on the train ride home, which was no hardship at all... she'd be devastated after not getting a real opportunity to chat with her Watson at the feast either. They had plans to make. And now she just had to find the girl... which was what brought her nosing around the Prefect's compartment.
She stuck her head through the door and was surprised to find not a prefect in sight... but plenty of non-prefects were present. "Hey... girls. Do I want to know what's going on? If I walk away, I've got plausible deniability."
As Selina made her way up on the train, she passed through hoards of first years and tried to make her way back to the prefects compartment. Kurumi told Selina that they would talk more on the train and if she knew Vivi, well, the blonde would meet her there too. She was not Sherlock just for her good looks although, her friend was very attractive, duh.
Playing with her mustache necklace- because her and Vivi knew the importance of a good, well-groomed mustache- she finally reached the door of the prefect compartment. The redhead was about to open the door when she heard some ruckus about in the room. And she knew the voices too. Oh Merlin, of course it would be HER team. Opening the door, she announced, "Okay, you lot. What are you doing in here?"
They were not supposed to be in her and if she had to tell them again she would... OH LOOK IT WAS VIVI!
The ending feast had been bad enough, however the last train ride was the final bit of action that cemented the fact that he would not be returning next term. Or perhaps ever. And that was a sad thing to think about when it had been his home away from home for seven years. Knowing he had to push aside his feelings because it was all inevitable, Gideon made his way to the station with the rest of the students, his belongings neatly packed in his trunk and Corvin already home.
One less thing to deal with.
Gaining access aboard the train, the prefect debated his destination. Regular compartment or prefects compartment. It wasn't as if he had any real duties as prefect anymore other than looking out for trouble he supposed. But then he couldn't leave it all to the others. So prefect's compartment was the final call. It wasn't like he had many friends that weren't going to be inside.
Slipping open the door to the compartment, Gideon was surprised to see so many people already there...including so many who weren't even student leaders of any kind. Gryffindor send-off anyone? However spotting Vivi, that idea was shot unless she was simply there just because and not with the others. Or with Selina, whom the seventh year realized must have entered shortly before him as she was nearly right inside.
"Um...hello there," he greeted everyone stepping inside and letting the door slide close behind him. The Gryffindor bit back a question for the younger lions when he heard the redhead voice her own.

OHLOOKPRETTYKITTY. Alice liked the cats. Expecially Spot and Walnut. She leaned for ward and scratched the little animal behind its ears and.. what? Did Penelope not know about Selina leaving? She hadn't told Penelope? .. Ouch. This was going to hurt, then. But.. but Alice couldn't break the news to her. That was Selina's job. And the Quidditch Captain would probably whack her with Mortimer if she said anything. "Um.. because I just LOVE Selina." And then she fangirl-squealed. For her fellow-lioness' benefit. And it was an extremely loud fangirl-squeal.
Selina owed her for that squeal.
SPOILER!!: Vivi

VIVI. There she was. "HEY. HI. HELLO. UM. No. We're not doing anything wrong. I think." No. They weren't. Unless you counted crashing the Prfects' Compartment as doing something wrong.. but then again, Vivi had done that, too. "Lex is over there. She wanted to say.. stuff to you." And since the baby lion was present, that would save their skins, right? Please.

AND. Just the person Alice was hoping to see. "Um.. hey, Cap'n."BEAM. [/I]Would being all smiley keep her out of trouble? She sure hoped so. "We.. err.. wanted to say bye." Hopefully penelope would just think she was saying 'bye' for the summer? "You're such a great Captain.." WERE such a great Captain BECAUSE SHE WAS ABANDONING THEM NOW.. "and we wanted to, um, tell you that." AND GIDDY! Oh. There he was. Perfect. "GIDEON. Hi. Um.. we wanted to say bye to you, too." Because he was abandoning them as well.. and.. and.. why were goodbyes so darn sad?

As Belle was looking down the train, she noticed the train compartment, well the Prefect's compartment. She stopped in and saw unfamiliar faces. She smiled at them all and sat down in her usual spot. Belle took out her sketch book and started to draw. She could not believe she was leaving so soon. She was going to start her seventh year next year. Time was flying by.
This was it. The end of another year and for some people the end of it all.
Preparing herself, Ness mumbled quietly as she walked, with Puffles, across the train corridor and stopped as soon as she reached her compartment. She paused in her ways and remembered who had shown her how to get to this compartment in the beginning of the term. It was Kurumi who was going to be on this train for the last time ever.
Since the feast the only thing Nessie could think about was how she'd never see Kurumi inside the Hogwarts walls again, she'd never see her with her prefect badge and she'd never see that Hogwarts uniform on her ever again. Reality had kicked in and it made Ness almost want to cry to know that the only time she'd ever get to see Kurumi now would be during holidays. She had nobody older to look up to at school now, but who knew? Come to think of it she had Selina which, even though Ness didn't know her as well as she knew Kurumi, she liked and a lot. The girl was really different to many other people Nessie had met and she was a red head, how could she be any more awesome? She'd be fine hopefully, but goodbyes were still never fun.
Gulp.
The red head took a deep breathe and then opened the door expecting to see Kurumi who was usually one of the first prefects there, but nope no sign of Kurumi. Instead there were four students, Alice, Lex, Penelope and Vivi along with the lion Captain, Selina and Prefect, Gideon then lastly Belle, The Huffie prefect who had just taken a seat.
Well then these students here? They weren't here to pretend to be the others like Vickers and Elijah had done right? Because that wasn't exactly polite. Probably not though, Ness was sure they had other reasons. "Erm...hey all?" She took a seat and placed Puffles on the seat beside her, along with her bag. "Can I ask why you're all here?" Because there was a reason of course, wasn't there?

"Sorry...." Lex mumbled apologetically. She didn't mean to rush right past Alice but it just kinda happened. She blamed it on all the excitement of seeing the 'graduated' students again. Gosh. She cringed every time she thought of that word. It just had such a terribly annoying ring to it but apparently she couldn't think that way because it was something they were all looking forward to. Why anyone would be happy to leave forever was beyond her but you know...she'd go with it.
Right. Sitting and waiting. She could do that. For a while. "Oh...well...er...I'm not completely sure but I overheard them talking about sitting together and well Selina'll wanna sit with Kurumi since it's her last ride...." Logical, wasn't it? She saw it that way.
Oh but then the door was opening again!

Darn.
It wasn't Vivi or Louisa. Pity. Not such a pity though 'cause it was Penelope!! She grinned over at her. "Hiiii! We're just waiting on the prefects to get here...well some more than others but you know, this is where we'd find them." Nod. "You should stay, it'll be fun!" She was planning to stay...right...you didn't just follow people into a place you're not suppose to be in without a definite plan to stay.
AND SHE HAD A CAT!!! "Awwwww, so cute! I left Felix with my bags down in another car...good thing too 'cause he doesn't like competition." Especially when the competition was so cuuuuuute.
SPOILER!!: Vivi <3

VIVI!!!
Yeah the girl was trying to find out if they were up to no good or not and this should have concerned or even offended her but she just couldn't stop grinning. "It's nothing bad!! Really, I came to look for you and Louisa!" And with that she attached herself to the 'graduated' girl. Pfft. Graduated. Such a laugh. "So no you can't walk away or we'll be in potential trouble for nothing." Nod. Wasn't she happy to see her???? Jeez!

Then almost like it was planned Scary Bat Girl walked in next. Well it was good because now both she and Alice got what they wanted. Well technically Alice only got half of what she wanted because Kurumi still wasn't here but this was good enough!
And she was even asking questions! "Oh um....saying our final goodbyes...I never got to for the most part at the feast..." Because she was avoiding the Ravenclaw table like the plague itself. How could she have gone there knowing that so many of them were 'graduating'? She hadn't been able to bring herself to but now she could and in fact she had to because it was her final chance and she WANTED to ride with THEM. She didn't care what threats this girl used because in the end she would just hide behind Vivi and hope the girl was above throwing a punch at a kid...or at the very least, in the direction of her own friend...

Ooo lookie! Gideon was there now! She shot him a grin, feeling a bit more comfortable. She shifted her wait from one foot to the other, while still being wrapped around her Mama Vivi as she watched him curiously. Hehe. He probably wanted to know what they were doing in there too. "Hi Gideon! I never got to tell you goodbye either so it's a good thing I've run into you in here." Duh, she'd run into him in here. This was the prefects compartment afterall! Not a smart statement Lex!

"Haaaai Belle!!!" Yeah she saw her walk in too. Hmm...but the girl seemed really preoccupied with her drawing...maybe she shouldn't disturbed her. Then there was the Hufflepuff Captain. She didn't know her personally but she knew the girl wasn't leaving. The most she remembered was that they were in the Joker group together during that Muggle Studies class. No need to tell her goodbye; nope. It seemed she was willing to ask the same question though but because Lex was now in such a good mood she would humour her by answering; she would even do it with a smile!
"Saying the last goodbyes. You all hang out in here so this is the only place to do it!" Nod nod nod.
It made perfect sense if you were willing to really think about it. "Even though you're not leaving I think you can still get a goodbye too because you're going off for the summer." GRIN.
Then she turned to Alice again. "Do you think Kurumi will take much longer?" Not that she was in any rush. Nah. No rush at all. She was perfectly happy being wherever Vivi was. Then she leaned a bit closer and whispered, "And we're not actually gonna leave soon...right?" Because you know, they just got there...

And then, as if by magic, there was an explosion of older students, but at least a few of the people the other lions wanted to see had appeared. Alice and Alexa answered their questions about what they were doing just fine, and she didn't feel the need to add anything, so all she said was, "Yeah, what they said." Saying more good-byes and what not.
Though...there was also the side note that it was just kinda fun to be somewhere they weren't supposed to be, but they didn't need to know that, now did they?
She did give a little smile to each of them though. See, she wasn't doing anything wrong.

Selina owed her for that squeal.
SPOILER!!: Mama Selina and Giddy!
Penelope raised an eyebrow at Alice. She wanted to say good bye to Selina because she loved her? Penelope was pretty sure plenty of people did, but were they all in here doing that? No, not really. So there had to be something else that she was trying to cover up by scream. Was THAT really necessary? It only made Penelope frown even more suspiciously.
The "bye" to Selina still seemed further suspicious followed by her good-byes to Gideon. Because surely these good-byes would be different considering one was graduating but the other one was supposed to be coming back. So she continued eyeing both Alice and Selina.

"Competition?" she repeated. "Nah. Spot doesn't always like a whole lot of attention, so Felix should be okay." Assuming that was what the competition was about. Spot seemed to get along with most other cats anyway as far as Penelope could tell.

"Good season in Quidditch. Think you can hold the cup next term?"

Jeez!
Awww, Baby Lion! Vivi put an arm around Lex and cuddled her very VERY briefly. Only briefly, though, since they were in front of Lex's friends. "Louisa isn't here yet, but you can have me for a bit. Don't you know that they don't like non-prefects in here? They're very bossy about it," Vivi whispered to the younger girl.
"Besides, if we get our own car, we can have a party. A compartment party. Have you ever been to one of those?"

What. WHAT was this? Milton SIIIIGHED dramatically as he reached the prefect compartment of the train that was cuh-ROWDED with little girls. For four terms now Kurumi had worn that Gryffindor prefect badge and today was the first day out of those four years at Hogwarts that it was not pinned to her clothes or in her bag. She wasn't sure how to feel about that, to be honest. In one respect she was glad that she really could just be HER this train ride. No badge. Just Kurumi Hollingberry.
Her feet did feel a little heavy as she finally boarded the train after helping the last of the first second years board the train and get their things situated. She may have lingered in the corridors a bit longer than she should have, but there was just something about going to the prefect's compartment that felt strange now. She technically was no longer one.

"Hey....everyone," she said as she took a timid step into the compartment, Walnut looking pleased as anything. Peeing on Isfret had made him an even more cocky kitty. "Is there...something wrong?"

"COOOKIE," Alice exclaimed, and attached herself to the Prefect as she had promised herself she would. "HI. Um.. oh. Lex and Penelope and I.. we kind of crashed your compartment."Sheepish grin. Well?! How else was she supposed to say goodbye?! She didn't know where Kurumi would be. "And.. I had.. I had something to give you. BOTH of you."
And then she dragged Kurumi over to Selina. And pushed her into a seat. YEP. "I wrote you both letters. KIND OF CHEESY. But, yeah. It.. it was kind of hard to express all my feelings in actual speech.. so I just wrote them down.." She stuffed an envelope into each of their hands. "Promise you won't read them until you get off the train, okay? And.. and write lots."
She was trying not to sniff. Or wibble. And failing miserably.
"And.. Kurumi.. I got you something else.." She placed a bunny teddy in Kurumi's lap, kind of like the one Alice had and dragged around EVERYWHERE. Her own was sitting on her luggage right now. "Something to remember me by. And squish at night." 'Cause they were plush and all.
Text Cut: Selina's letter
Dear Selina,
You've been my idol seen I was a little first year. When I showed up at Quidditch tryouts and heard you speak to us for the first time, I instantly knew I wanted to be just like you when I grew up. You were so confident and determined.. and happy. And I wanted that.
Ever since I saw you, I've changed. I never thought I could be part of a family, or be a little minion for someone. I never even knew that I liked to whack things before I met you. You made me fall in love with Quidditch. You made me into a Beater and gave me a bat and changed me. And I don't think I can ever tell you how thankful I am that I met you.
I'm going to miss you, Captain. But it's time for you to move to another team, and make their lives just as great as you made ours. You're going to do great things for the Harpies, you know. Mortimer will have a lot of fun. Thanks for three years of coaching and friendship. Try not to forget me, okay? I won't forget you. Ever.
Loads of love,
Alice
Text Cut: Krumi's letter
Dear Kurumi,
When I was a first year and climbed off of the Hogwarts Express for the first time, I saw someone at the edge of the train. She was helping everyone off, making sure all of the little ones were okay, and donning the shiniest badge I have ever seen. In my second year, I caught many more glimpses of her. I noticed how she was the best at everything she did, how all of the teachers and students adored her, and how she always looked out for those around her. She was a good person. And I wanted to be just like her.
In my third year, I became friends with this person. She introduced me to so many new ideas, people, and activities. She made me smile and fussed over me like the mum I never had. And she became one of my best friends. And even though she's leaving, even though I'll miss her like crazy, I'm happy for her. Because she's going to do brilliant things wherever she goes, and it's time for some other people to get to work with someone as amazing as her. Being able to talk to her, confide in her, and know that she would always be there for me helped me get through so many things. And I'm so glad I have you, Kurumi, because I would probably still be lying in Hogsmeade with a broken leg if I didn't.
If, one day, I have even a fourth of the great qualities you have, I'll be the best person in Hogwarts. You're the greatest this place has ever seen, the greatest it WILL ever see, and I don't want you to forget that. I don't want you to forget me. But I know you have to leave. And I'm trying my best to be okay with it.
I hope you can make someone else as happy as you've made me, because they'll be luckiest person in the world. I have been for three years. Write DAILY. Okay? Or at least every week, if you can. And when you come to Hogsmeade, I shall attach myself to you and not let go until you pry me off.
I love you. Forever.
-Alice

The redhead cocked her eyebrow as she waited for all of her ickle lions- because, you know, the rule breakers would be from HER house- to answer her question. Crossing her arms over her chest, she said again, "Well, I'm waiting for an answer... what are you lot doing in here?" Why couldn't the rule breakers have been Slytherins or something? That was it wouldn't have been HER house that would get in trouble. Merlin, this kids.
But before she could demand an answer out of them again Gideon and Nessie entered the compartment. She nodded to both of them before she turned back to playing Captain to her ickle children. And then, she finally got an answer. They were here to say goodbye? Well, that was sweet and lovely and all, but they were not allowed to be in here. On-the-other-hand, look how cute and sincere they all were. She just wanted to pinch their little cheeks and mention how very adorable they all were for that sentiment. But she knew that all three of the girls in here would have shot her dagger eyes if she went anywhere NEAR their cheeks. So that was a no-no.
Sighing, she caved in, "Alright, you lot, listen up. I am going to say this and only say it once. I didn't see you come in here, understand? The moment someone else does, though, well... I can't help you." If they caught her drift.
When Milton entered the compartment next she heard the Ravenclaw make a comment about Gryffindors or some nonsense. He really was thick, wasn't he? Selina had JUST gotten Mortimer back and if that was not incentive enough to be nice to Gryffindors in general, she did not know what was. Because you know, violence was ALWAYS the answer. Snapping her head to the side, she crossed her arms and said, "Got a problem with Gryffindors, Shacklebolt?"
And then someone else entered the compartment, which was getting rather crowded and most of the attendees were not prefects or the Princess of Hogwarts, it was Kurumi. The redhead grinned at her best friend and took a second to notice that she was a little forlorn. She was busy at the moment dealing with all of the influx of ickle children, but it did not mean that she could not see her best friend's face. They would talk later. Not here, not now.
But just as she was about to give her friend a quick squeeze, her attention was drawn over to Alice who was being very demanding and pushy... she was so proud. What a good little girl. Demanding things from people. The sixth year always knew that Alice was good people. Little spitfire, that one was. And then, suddenly, Alice shoved something into Selina's hand. The redhead perched her eyebrow in surprise at the letter and was about to open it when Alice asked her not to... weird. But she would respect Alice's wishes. The little third year had earned that- her respect.
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite

By the smile on her face Lex would assume she was staying too. Good! The more the merrier. It could be like a Gryffindor take over...except for the fact that Vivi was a Ravenclaw but for these purposes she could be an honorary Gryffindor. Yup. She would be. That way she could be her Mama Lion.
Lex giggled. "That doesn't matter. I think he's cute and that's enough to make Felix nuts." Sure she thought it was adorable that her kneazle had so much...love was it? Well she'd call it love but sometimes it got to be a bit too much--like when he nearly attacked Dylan's cat on the ride to school at the start of the term. "Are you saying goodbye to anyone other than Selina?" She thought she'd ask. Most people already said their goodbyes to Kurumi and well...Selina was her captain so it'd make sense but she might have had other people that were leaving...maybe...

She shrugged, not daring to argue with that. Plus she was right. The girl seemed to have a lot of admirers if that scene last night at the closing feast was any indication and she was most likely still trying to get through a sea of crying people, all with some elaborate AND ridiculous plan to make her stay. Honestly these plans should have been thought up for Vivi but meh, she wouldn't say anything.
She grinned , happy to hear the response. They were staying! Like legit, she had back up! Alice wasn't leaving and if Alice and Vivi weren't leaving then she wasn't either! Nope!
Oh boy. They were gonna get it now, weren't they? She'd probably yell at them to get out or use her bat or...or...not be made at all...? Okay then...Well she wouldn't complain! All was good as long as they were allowed to stay!
"Uh-huh! No problem!" GRIN. Besides...Vivi already said they were with her which meant they were technically safe...right...? RIGHT! So there was nothing to worry about! Her smile spread from ear to ear when Her Captain took on that idiot of a Ravenclaw for saying stuff about their house! Good! It was just too bad she didn't give him a few swings of her bat for good measure.
SIGH. Clearly wishful thinking got you nowhere in life because he was still very much unharmed. Pity.

"Good season in Quidditch. Think you can hold the cup next term?"
So she nearly risked getting hexed by a possibly ill-tempered prefect for only a small cuddle? No no no. That wouldn't work. Nope. She was about to pull the girl into another cuddle but then something she said threw her off completely and of course, she had to comment. "No." She paused to let that word sink in for bit seeing as she'd been thinking it a lot, then she went on talking. "They will be leaving with you and you can all stop off in Diagon Alley any time to grab a snack while I'll be at school next year. You see that? I won't have you as much in the coming year as they will so THEY can have you for a bit, I'm keeping you--and Milton gets none of you." Then she cast a sideways glance at him. NONE OF HER!
Ahem.
Now she could answer her question. "Yeah I know they don't," Shrug "but I wanted to catch you before the train hit the station then they got the chance to pull you off into the sunset so you can all live happily ever after without me." POUT. The pout quickly disappeared though at the mention of their own compartment party. "So you mean you'd sit and have a party with me instead of them and that guy?!" Yeah. He didn't have a name anymore. EEeeeeep! They could leave once Louisa got there and Alice was done with her goodbyes.

Please.
SPOILER!!: Mama Selina and Giddy!

She cringed every time she thought of that word. It just had such a terribly annoying ring to it but apparently she couldn't think that way because it was something they were all looking forward to. Why anyone would be happy to leave forever was beyond her but you know...she'd go with it.
Right. Sitting and waiting. She could do that. For a while. "Oh...well...er...I'm not completely sure but I overheard them talking about sitting together and well Selina'll wanna sit with Kurumi since it's her last ride...." Logical, wasn't it? She saw it that way.
Oh but then the door was opening again!
Oh.
When the door opened again she was about to groan. Just how many people planned to follow them in here before they could finally see who they wanted--
There were plenty of other people in her to bug and she now had her Mama Vivi so she didn't need anyone else...decisions, decisions... "Watch'ya drawing?" She'd just ask while she was still making up her mind.

Alexa got a smile though because she didn't seem to be hiding anything from her. And yep, she was staying of course.
"Competition?" she repeated. "Nah. Spot doesn't always like a whole lot of attention, so Felix should be okay." Assuming that was what the competition was about. Spot seemed to get along with most other cats anyway as far as Penelope could tell.
So they were all hear to say goodbye to Selina now that news of her own departure was spreading. It seemed all three Gryffindor leaders were taking off to their futures and Gideon found himself hoping it didn't change too much between them. "Aye, she is a good captain," he found himself musing aloud in agreement. And she'd be good where she was going as well.
And then Alice turned to him to say goodbye to him as well. "Thank ye Alice." A Hufflepuff prefect and the badger captain entered the compartment, starting to even out the house numbers. Or at least make them not all Gryffindors. "Hi Alexa..." The girl had been one of the first he had run into on the platform at the start of term with an example of her trickster nature. At least she had seemed to get a little better over the course of the year. Gideon returned the smile to Penelope before finally regaining his own voice.
"Aww good-bye to ye three too. Though who knows...we might just all see each other again The statement once a Gryffindor is always true after all." Cue soft smile to keep the happiness around.

Her feet did feel a little heavy as she finally boarded the train after helping the last of the first second years board the train and get their things situated. She may have lingered in the corridors a bit longer than she should have, but there was just something about going to the prefect's compartment that felt strange now. She technically was no longer one.
o.O
And neither were most of the people here.
"Hey....everyone," she said as she took a timid step into the compartment, Walnut looking pleased as anything. Peeing on Isfret had made him an even more cocky kitty. "Is there...something wrong?"
Milton arrived, looking a bit better then expected but then Gideon had only heard of the other boy's adventures from others. He added to the Ravenclaw number alongside Vivi. "Ease off there with that comment, Shacklebolt." What did have against Lions and Badgers? Other than loosing both cups to Hufflepuff, of course. But Gryffindor wasn't responsible for that happening.
Were there really no snakes here? he mused to himself looking around. However his attention was returned to the door when Kurumi finally entered the compartment. With Walnut the wonder kitty right alongside. Who knew the feline's peeing would be so drama filled? Gideon shook his head as she seemed to be concerned as to why the girls were all here. "Nae...nothing wrong. "

Seeing Selina with Alice's letter, Gideon was reminded of the gift he still had in the satchel slung over his shoulder. His only belongings carried along with him. Just a little something he wanted to give his friend before things got crazy with both their lives. But maybe the prefect compartment wasn't the best place especially with every other lion around. It wasn't as if they didn't have the whole train ride....right?

She should talk to Selina? Yeah. She would do that. She wasn't sure what they would be talking about, but apparently she was gonna have to talk to the Captain herself since the older girl didn't care enough to tell her about any of this.

He? ...Oh, did Alexa mean Spot? "She, actually," Penelope corrected with a small laugh. "I'm sure Felix knows you love him best though, yeah?" Since he was Alexa's cat after all. Owners always loved their cat the best. Spot was definitely Penelope's favorite cat, at least.
But then the subject of "saying good-bye" to Selina was brought up again. So even people who weren't on the team apparently knew something she didn't? Wow. "Wasn't even aware I was saying good-bye to her," she answered, voice a bit flat. Seriously what was going on?

Not that she blamed him. They'd been good for each other, but it hadn't ever been more than very (very) friendly. "But that guy wouldn't want to come with us anyway. He's allowed to be in here." Not that there was any indication that any of them were moving any time soon or anything.
