Ariana looked at the girl "hi?" ariana deserved more then just a HI. she deserved a parade! eyeing the girl who was a year younger she huffed a bit. "we should just stand there and talk about him honestly, with a picture of him and stuff."

Unless you had a better idea girl, hmm? Ariana wasn't big on talking OR presentations so she'd rather do as little as possible. she didnt care if she got a good grade just one that passed. she wasn't one to be picky on house points either.

Eliza updated her notes on the members of her group, trying to kick her memory into gear.



She still liked the idea of a skit sort of...or maybe more of a talent show type approach. "What if we each stand in a line and let Kurumi walk up to us and change her hair to the same color as ours - to show that Mystique can become anyone?" Did that sounds easy enough? "And maybe once she changes to us, we can each just say a fact about Mystique. Just a short one, so there's enough for everyone." Not wanting to discount Ella's idea, she added, "We could try to make them rhyme if you guys think it should be song-like." She smiled at Ella, wondering if this suggestion would be okay with everyone.

Being the good person Lex was she was willing to wait for the others to add their two cents before she said anymore.

Emm was the next to go and Alexa couldn't help but smile when she said she had her vote. D'aww, someone else believed in her ability to be criminally insane--though she wasn't so sure that was a good thing...okay maybe she thought it was a good thing but you'd never get her to admit to that. Nope.

She turned from one person to the next as they gave their input. Bliss was up for the skit and Nessie, yeah she was gonna call her that 'cause she offered, was even volunteering to scream like a maniac! This group was totally the boss. They had awesome people--awesome people who were smart too. They were all listening to Vivi's idea about strengths and weaknesses. You could never go wrong once you listened to Genevieve Branxton. Nope. She knew everything.

"Riiight, so going off of what Vivi said, we're gonna need to show both those things and get him defeated for the sake of good triumphing over evil and all that rubbish" Ahem, moving on. "Have we made a definite decision on how we'll present?"

This was where Mr. Bossman was supposed to put in his two more cents--no one said being boss was cheap. Vivi too because she was the Boss Lady. Duh.

The others could say stuff too though. In fact they really should have instead of allowing an 11 year old to. Not that she couldn't give good suggestions but she was most likely to go overboard and they didn't need that right now so she'd go quiet again until someone else spoke up.

A metamorphagus? Emmanuelle had never met one before, so that was interesting. "That would great actually," she told Kurumi, giving the follow seventh year a smile. Would definitely be a great way to explain to the purebloods in the room, since that connected to their world.

But then Ella brought up a good point. With so little time to prepare, a skit probably wouldn't be so feasible after all. Especially with so many of them. And really wouldn't be fair if only a few of them got to speak. So that idea was out. "You're right, it wouldn't really work." A song though? Em wasn't much of a singer, she actually avoided so much as singing in the shower. "I don't know..... would we have enough time to write a good song, though?" Professor Cerulean had only given them ten minutes and who knew how much of that they had used up talking about it.

"Let's go with that," she said to Eliza's suggestion. "Easy, to the point, and informative. Plus, each of us would only have one line to remember and everybody can remember one line." Not to mention, they had to be close to having only five minutes left by now. Which was five that they would need to memorize their facts.

Fact. Max had them, so Vivi would focus on the more creative aspects. She'd studied up on heroes, so her villain knowledge was still relatively limited. She pulled out parchment and began to make their list.

"No," Vivi glanced up from her list and made faces at Lex. No NO, they weren't going to consider insanity pleas in order to get away with doing wrong. Lex was just mad enough to try something like that. "You still get locked up, either way. And I'll vouch for you that you aren't crazy... just overly curious."

I'm willing to take ideas, but what if we... have Lex dress as the Joker, and others dress as those who are considered his foes: Batman, Robin, Batgirl..." Others? She was willing to take suggestions so everyone had a role. "And while we 'fight' Lex, we build up these walls around her with the information we have written on the bricks, and the walls end up being the walls of her asylum... her prison. Sort of like the Joker's background and personality as the real walls imprisoning him."

"I don't think someone who's mad gets away with anything, but... sometimes, I think... there has to be real proof that you're actually insane. So then maybe you're mentally treated instead of... treated like a criminal. But with the Joker? I dunno. I'll accept that's he's criminally insane, but..." He trailed off. That kind of... ties into the whole idea of the Joker and pranking and..." He didn't know what else. "But it looks like he 'does what he does' because he... feels like it? I don't see a real motive behind it...

"...WAIT! Here it says... he doesn't have a definitive back story, but it says his most well-known story is that... he was a chemical engineer who quit his job to become a stand-up comedian. He failed at that, but he needed money to... support his wife..." He used his finger to find further information. He paused to read every now and then. "...so it looks like he teamed up with two criminals to make ends meet by robbing the plant the Joker had worked at as an engineer? But they got caught, the other two were killed, and the Joker ran away as Batman showed up..." He spoke hurriedly, worried they were running out of time. "But the Joker fell into some kind of vat of chemicals? And when he came out... he looked like this. Surely it had mental affects, too." Max extended the book toward the middle of the group so they all could see the picture of the Joker's white face, bright red lips, and emerald green hair.

"And he found out his wife and... unborn child?..." he frowned at the page, "...were killed by a fake cop who really worked for the criminals that night. So... from all of this... I mean." Well? He didn't really know what to say nor how to say whatever he was feeling on the matter. "We can kind of see how a bunch of different factors affected his mind... and heart."

Max just frowned down at the book in his hands.

So there were some singers in the group, some dancers, some actors. and some people who just seemed really happy to talk and contribute. That was perfect. Max lifted his gaze from the book to give them small smiles of encouragement. He was especially proud of the little ones.

The best group, he had said so.

When Dani asked about their method of presentation, Max... turned to look at Vivi, as if it was somehow her decision.

...which it seemed to be, and rightly so. As the girl took avid notes and sprouted out ideas, Max was embarrassingly impressed with her; his big grin showed that. "I like it." And that was that. Lex as the Joker would be funny.

And then Max realized he was the only guy in the group.

DID THAT MEAN HE COULD BE BATMAN? ... but if one of the girls wanted it, he'd let them have it. So he didn't say anything on the matter.

"It's creative, witty... sounds like an overall great demonstration." Max was a sucker for metaphors.

But Max didn't know what else to add to Vivi's idea. He approved of it and she seemed to have a pretty clear idea in mind of what they were going to do, if everyone agreed.

So he waited for further instruction of some sort.

Cassia stood listening to the other students introducing themselves and imposing ideas. She didn't know which to memorize the names or the information that was given about the villain. She hoped she would remember both. And she hadn't noticed the first year until she spoke. Cassia flashed her a big smile. You know they were both by the same age. And paying attention about what everyone said about this Mystique woman, Cassia figured out that she was a complicated villain. Having joined the good and the bad side at different times. Though that made her cooler.

Then Ideas about skit and the prefect suggested that she turns blue. Cassia found that very interesting. She nodded with others welcoming this idea. And the song idea suggested by Ella was cool too. "I agree with you all." She finally spoke. "Like Eliza said ,Kurumi could turn blue while we each say a fact about this woman and we'd try make it as a song." Because a song would be nice. And she didn't add anything new. Just emphasized.

Cassia reached for a parchment and tapped her quill thinking what could they possibly say that would rhyme. She peered at Eliza's notes hoping that the girl wouldn't mind Cassia copying few from her. And the second-year scribbled down a few sentences.


She glanced down at them. They didn't really rhyme but the endings kinda resembled each other. The best a twelve-years old could come up with. She turned her gaze to the others and spoke. "I say we come up with about six rhyming sentences so each one would say one." Did they agree. Or did they think it was stupid. Cassia would gladly accept criticizing. "Or if anyone has a better idea...." Possibly someone who could come up with better rhyming lines.

Kurumi shook her head. Nope. She hadn't read or seen X-Men. The whole mutant thing had been a put off and something that reminded her of magic and just now 'unnatural' her children were...so Kurumi hadn't been exposed to it. Ironic...considering she was raised nonmagical and might as well have been Muggleborn despite being half-blood.

Again, Kurumi just nodded at her role. It was sort of the obvious choice since she could actually change her appearance...
So there was another person for her using her metamorphagus abilities. Blushing a bit more, Kurumi nodded and then tried to mentally prepare herself for the task coming up. She still really didn't have her abilities in check. Not even close really and they still sort of controlled her to a certain extent. She should probably practice first. Find her zone and figure out how she could change her appearance.

But then she froze when Ella mentioned a song. Song, as in singing? "Do...do we have time to make up a song?" Kurumi really didn't want to sing in front of all these people. It had been awkward enough in Herbology when they had had to sing to plants.
THIS...she could work with. "I think I can control my abilities enough to manage hair and maybe even eye color," she said with a small nod. Yeah, she really ought to start practicing this a little bit. Glancing over at Ella, Kurumi focused on the Hufflepuff's hair and narrowed her eyes.
And it seemed that Emmanuelle agreed with the demonstration and one or two lines of speech per person. Good. Now, back to staring at Ella's hair. Kurumi focused her attention entirely on her hair and, after a few moments of staring, Kurumi's hair turned the same shade of blonde and her eyes were the same sort of blue. Now she was...Kurella? Elmi?

"You guys might want to talk while I try to change my hair and eyes," Kurumi said as she pulled some of her hair in front of her face to examine. "I need a few moments of concentration to make things work."

Turn blue? Like...ALL of her skin blue? Kurumi bit her lip and tugge on the sleeves of her robes for a moment. People had high expectations for her and her abilities it seemed. "Um...I honestly don't know if I can do that...all my body blue I mean," Kurumi said rather sheepishly while her attention turned to Vickers. His hair was the most different from Ella's - short and brown - so she ought to try to look like him. Eyes would just turn a more piercing blue color. "I really am not THAT in control of it all yet...sorry."

Staring at Vickers a little more intently with her now unusual blue eyes, Kurumi's blonde hair began to sort of suck back into her head and turn brown at the same time until it was identical to Vickers'. Yep, okay. She could do this.

"Um, I think I remember reading somewhere that she is one of the oldest mutants in the comic book...or maybe even the oldest?"

Oh. Another member in the Joker team. NESSIE! She was glad to see another familiar face, especially her Quidditch captain. By the looks of things, their group was now made up mainly by Hufflepuffs. Though the Ravenclaws in the team were taking charge, which was completely fine by her. Bliss listened to what Nessie had to say, it looked like she knew about the Joker than she did, but that was hardly surprising seen as she knew next to nothing to begin with. At least now she'd learn something.

So far, doing a skit seemed like the most popular choice. She wouldn't mind singing or acting in front of the class, so that was good. But so far they hadn't really come to any sort of final decision. Bliss took in the rest of what Nessie said and blinked. Her skill was screeching loudly? Not the most common skill ever, but probably something someone could work into the skit. Maybe.

Bliss took in everything that Lex said. For a first year, she was very outgoing and wasn't holding back anything. The firstie was definitely going to grow up be a very interesting student. Saying that, Bliss was only a Second Year, but she definitely felt older than that. Turning her attention back to Alexa, she decided to wait and see what the other's opinions would be.

It was clear that Max and Vivi were in charge of the group, were taking the lead. They were good at it and Bliss was thankful to have people that knew exactly what they were doing in charge. Bliss listened to what Vivi had to say and jotted down the main points about the Joker on a piece of parchment so that she could remember them and use them if she needed to.

So far, so good, Bliss thought as all their ideas started being planned out. Acting out the main points, the bits that needed the most attention. She knew Lex would be good in that department. Then Vivi turned to her. Writing a song? "Yeah, I can write songs," she said with a nod. "That sounds fine to me, just, what do you want me to write in the song? Do you want it to be like a story? In which case, what happens?" Bliss asked and looked at Vivi. She could definitely write a song in the next ten minutes, but she wouldn't know what exactly to put in it. After all, she didn't know all that much about the Joker and his story. She only knew what they'd discussed today and that didn't help her much.

As Bliss listened to the plan that Vivi had said, an idea came to her head. "If you're doing that, acting that out. I could write a song that would be like a narration to what's happening?" Bliss suggested eagerly. She didn't think it was that bad an idea, depending on the tempo of the music, it would get the audience very interested. Bliss needed her guitar though, and unless the teacher let her use a spell to create one, which she'd done before, then she'd have no guitar.

Max made a LOT of good point and Bliss took them all in. From the story he told about the Joker, it was clear to see exactly why he was that way. A great loss often causes all sorts of mental trauma. As Max turned to each of the group members in turn and smiled at them encouragingly, Bliss smiled back warmly. This group was going to be great, she could just tell.

Now they just had to wait for the final say.

RIDDLER Peeps! What shall we present to class?
 

Befelda listened attentively to her group mates about Riddler's characteristics. Great, she already got ideas about the villain. She took the book under the villain's poster and scanned the pages.

"Let's see....right. I think Riddler's symbol is a question mark and his colors are pale green and violet. Well, what kind of presentation do you think can we make out of this villain?", she asked the group.

She's been waiting for the last student in their group to talk and introduced himself. But seems like he has no plans of talking.

"We can make a short skit, or a poster. But I think poster is too simple. Perhaps a skit is much better as we could all participate in it. What do you think?", she again asked the group.

"I think we should do it as a skit, called a charade. As Riddler liked to convey things in riddles, why don't we convey the things in different scenes. Like in the first scene the name Batman would be hidden, pale green and violet would be mentioned casually in the next scene, his name hidden in the next scene, a question mark hidden in the next scene. Edward Nigma in the next scene and so on... perhaps we can have a scene with his 'death trap' in it?" Sarah said

Hannah didn't really like the way that this girl was looking at her. Perhaps miss Ariana didn't know who she was dealing with, but she soon would if she tested Hannah. She raised an eyebrow at the girl. "Works for me." Because honestly Hannah did not care what they did. She hated muggle studies and didn't even know why she was here.

She was not in the mood to talk and frankly she didn't even care if they weren't the best. Sure she liked getting house points and all that, but she was over this lesson and this class as a whole.

Minerva listened to everyones idea's and had to chuckle a bit at the song, glancing at Vickers for a second she then turned and heard another great idea. "Yes, I like the idea of us just saying one thing about her possibly as a rhyme. I think Kurumi could do a great job with our hair and eye color. We all for the most part have very different hair so it will be a great example."

Minerva was glad she had left the ravenclaw blue in her hair for the time being, since she had transfigured it for her little walk with Ethan. "Now if we all just want to pick something about her to say as our sentence, I think this can go smooth and easy for the presentation part of our activity." Looking around to see if anyone had any other ideas and/or thoughts.

Gemma roamed around the room eavesdropping on each of the little groups..yes this was promising...although she still wasn't sure on group work...you know there was always those that didn't work and those that worked very hard....she had always despised it because she was always the hard worker that did everything in groups...but she figured she needed to challenge herself in teaching....

Finally, making it to the front of the class, she smiled and then spoke, "Okay everyone..." she waited for the conversations to cease..."Now let's see what you've put together...you can do everything where you are standing if you would like. When you group isn't going, just have a seat in your spots and wait for your Villain's name to be called..." she took a little nervous breath and then began calling the first Villain on the list.

He was flipping over the pages trying to read more into the Mystique character when Kurumi spoke up. Use her metamorphagus abilities to show Mystique's power? "That's brilliant Kurumi. You're not gonna have a hard time though are you?" last thing he wanted was to tire Kurumi with morphing, as he doesnt know how much or how little effort it takes to change ones appearance.

He turned his head towards Min a smiled shyly. "I sure hope so....." he mumbled and after a pause added "If its a song thats written down I could follow..." since he does want to be a team player and all, but he found his contribution in any kind of skit or song to be incredibly limiting, not to mention he doesnt know what he could do with this character.

And as he continued to listen to the discussion it sounded more and more like it was going to be a song or skit routine. He couldnt help the uncomfortable flip flopping in his tummy whenever the thought of presenting something to class.

He watched Kurumi try to change her features and when she was staring at him that queasiness multiplied a hundred fold. So imagine his shock when the Lioness actually managed to shrink her hair up like his and mimic his piercing blues. "Good Gaia Kurumi thats.... incredible." he stared back a bit spooked.

Oh boy they are actually going to do rhyming? Last time he tried his hand with that..... shoots a nervous glance at Kurumi.... it didnt turn out too well.

"Uhm... I'm not really sure what I can do here...." he mumbled, feeling himself shrink back even further towards the next poster. "I can just research on facts about Mystique, like I rad that she is as old or even older than Wolverine, she's had 2 biological children-- the anti-mutant human called Graydon Creed, the other was the teleporting Nightcrawler, and she was the adopted mother of the power absorbing Rogue, hence the statement that she is motherly." An Encycolpedia, thats really the most he can do here.

What was Max going on about now? Nessie listened to almost every bit of what he read from the info. So the real reason why Joker had gone insane was all due to chemicals? Well that made a lot of sense then. His story was a little sad though considering he lost his pregnant wife and future child. All villians had some sort of reasons for their doings, at the end of the day, didn't they?

Back to the skit. Brilliant, what this group had come up with. Ness was really pleased and now, was not so much hating the fact that her inner villian was conisdered insane. Insane people always came up with the best ideas didn't they? Well so it seemed now.

Ermm...Pout. When Vivi questioned Ness, she wasn't entirely sure how to answer. Not wanting to say something wrong, she scanned the info book trying to get something that would help answer. There wasn't too much, but there was still something. "He seemed to have had a very warped sense of humor and he found it amusing to hurt people, so I think his joking was more to make him frightening?" Yeah that did make sense then, or at least to Nessie it did.

The little Gryffindor was right though, had they made their official decision? Ness looked at Lexi and then looked at the others waiting for a confirmation. Vivi started to speak again, and so Ness paid her full attention to the Ravenclaw now. As the list was pushed to the middle of the table, Nessie peered at it and nodded in approval. Perfect.

What was even more perfect though was Vivi's desciption of her plan. Nessie liked it, it had irony with the brick walls, and it was a brilliant idea. "I really like how that sounds, Vivi." Wait, she was allowed to call her Vivi right, because Lex seemed to have done that too. Maybe those two were closer friends. Oh well it was just a nickname, surely it wouldn't have bothered her too much."I don't mind doing anything, within the skit." Even if it would be something embarrassing like screeching in front of the professor, Ness would help. She had gone through more than enough humiliating moments anyways, another one wouldn't hurt much.

"A skit?" Awar bounced a little. "That sounds great! I think its a good idea!"

Awar turned to Sarah as she spoke. "Yes, that sounds good, Sarah, and adding the death trap sounds like a good addition too."

Befelda agreed to what Sarah suggested. "Right! Good idea. Do we agree on that, mates? So what else do we need to materialize the skit? You could think of some samples of the scenes that we could use, Sarah. Then you may assign tasks to each one of us. Let's start.", she said to the girl.

It was just as she'd excepted. Mr. Bossman and Boss Lady Vivi had all the answers they needed and she even came up with a nifty idea for the skit. It sounded cool...a little confusing for the poor little one, but cool nonetheless. "I love that idea!!" She added a nod to that as she looked at each of them but that's when she realized something...with the exception of perhaps Bliss, they were a good bit taller than her.

That realization got her thinking. What if they squashed her while they were 'fighting'?

If that was how they planned to show defeat then she was soooo up for giving the role to the next guy. The Joker was great and all but at the end of the day, he'd be in a comic book and she'd be in the Hospital Wing.

The thought quickly vanished though when she heard the others discussing a bit more. Okay. They sounded like they had brains that they used more than once a year. She guessed she could trust them. Yup. For now they had her trust.

"The narration sounds like a good idea too."

Sarah was glad that they had agreed.
She took out her notebook and began to write a script:

She copied it out and said to the others, giving it out to them "This is what I cou;d come up with. I don;t mind who am, 1, 2 or 3.. Any ideas about the death trap scene? and the question mark scene?"

Minerva was listening to all the groups ideas when she heard the professor. Looking over to her she listened and then turned back to the group. "Well I guess it's show time. Let's just go one at a time saying our sentence about her and after we talk Kurumi could be the example in showing the changes. Kurumi you don't have to do everyone if you don't want to." She then looked into the notes trying to figure out what she was going to say.

Once the professor called Mystique group, Minerva stood up with her group. Standing in the front of the room she was never good at rhyming and was fearful to do it. Looking at the rest of the class she smiled, "Our group is going to do a little Rhyme about our Blood Villain Mystique. Kurumi is going to show you some examples of what a shape shifter can do." She smiled at her group and then looked again to the class, "Mystique was the leader of the Freedom Force who fought against the X-man and the Avengers, but she became a double agent and was more of a messenger." Yeah that was lame, but it was all she could think of. Looking at the next group member she hoped they would have a better rhyme.
