Mystique Group :) Eliza was a little more glad to be in Mystique's group, now that she saw some of her friends. Maybe she'd make some new ones too, as it was a rather large group. She thought the more people in the group, the more creative ideas they might have for their presentation. She smiled and nodded at Cora and Ella, glad to see they had some things in common. She made a list in her notebook of everyone in her group. She was going to get good with these names in the best way she knew how. Write them down and stare at the letters, a lot. She didn't want to be rude and call everyone 'Hey you', so she started with who she knew for sure. SPOILER!!: Notes She quickly scribbled as fast as she could, so others wouldn't think she was just doodling and not interested in group discussion. Since she was a first year, she knew not many students would know who she was - so she decided to introduce herself too. She wasn't as nervous about it as she would have been earlier in the year, and she was thankful for it. She smiled at everyone and said, "Nice to meet you, Cassia. My name's Eliza." She gave a friendly smile to the group and added, "First year. Just in case anyone thought they should've known her and they didn't, now they'd know why. She however didn't really want to read out of the book in front of everyone. But she would, since it was a group project after all. "Can I see the book?" she asked politely. Once she had it in hand she picked a fact to read and take notes on. "It says here that she's been on both sides at different times. Good and bad. Looks like she was a secret agent for Professor X at one point - a good guy, but she was also on a sort of villain squad." |
Team Dr. Doom Text Cut: Nigel, Sierra, & Alex :3 Louisa kept her grin on her face in reply to Sierra's smirk. She was right, there was more than one Poison Ivy candidate among themselves. Oh and look! There came one more Dr. Doom. "Heeey buddy." Louisa pounded Nigel's fist all cool-like and let her arm drape around his neck all buddy-like. She liked this kid, he was small, brilliant, and had two hobbies sleeping and studying. What's not to love? When the professor started talking, ending the quiz time, the Ravenclaw straightened up and took her arm off Nigel's shoulders and crossed them as she tilted her head and processed what was said. ... This sounded so much fun actually! But ten minutes wasn't long enough! Louisa turned to her group then and didn't think an introduction was necessary. She knew Sierra and Nigel pretty well, and even Alex wasn't a stranger that much. But... they never properly introduced so, "Louisa Carter, seventh year Ravenclaw. Nice to meet you all, fellow villains." There. She bent down then and snatched the book from behind the poster. "I'll read some before passing it to you guys... uhh.. He's son of a Latverian gypsy. He recruits villains. The enemy of fantastic four and all super heroes in general." Those were obvious. "He's a polymath scientific genius. An inventor. He is capable of energy projection, creating protective shields, and summoning hordes of demonic creatures." She looked up at them and offered the book to whoever wanted it. "This is like singing a lullaby for sleeping. You guys think we can do it more entertaining by acting out a scene?" They were only four people which allowed this option without complication. Oh! "Or maybe creating a graphical biography of the guy." It'd be a moving poster with various critical scenes of Dr. Doom's villain-y life. She wasn't so clingy on her suggestion, they could do whatever the majority agreed on. |
Team Joker! What an interesting group of people. Vivi, Emmaleigh, little Bliss, the troublemaker Alexa from the train, and the Hufflepuff captain. Quite the variety of personalities there, hm? They ranged from quiet, polite, and courteous to... loud, insensitive, and pesky. He wasn't naming any names, though. But maybe that was good, Max thought, as he looked around at them and greeted them all with a smile and a head nod. The strongest groups formed when different strengths came together to work toward a greater good. So, upon being given instructions from the professor, Max said just that. "Awesome. So. My name is Maximus James. I'm a seventh year Ravenclaw." After the others had introduced themselves, Max cleared his throat to initiate the moving along of their planning. "We probably have the strongest group here," he told them in a hushed voice, picking the book up from off the floor and holding it in the center of their group so someone could grab it if they wanted to find some key information while he spoke. "We've got a lot of different personalities, a lot of various strengths and weaknesses, so we should make sure everyone's strengths are being used. I'm sure some of us are better talkers or presenters than others." He wasn't in that group. "So maybe some of us can have more key roles in the presentation, while others might be better at coming up with ideas and putting them into action or onto paper?" Max was good at motivational talks. That was his strength. "So erm... maybe we can start by looking at some facts of the Joker, THEN decide if we want to do a skit, song, poster, or... something? Maybe knowing a bit about his personality will help us figure out the best route to go with this one is... if that's all right? And... we could probably do more than one, if we wanted. Like... if someone is really good at art...? We could have a poster and something more interactive, like a... song or skit? Or some other mode of presentation, if someone has a better idea? So we could keep that in mind." Max looked around at the group nervously, unsure of what route they were going to want to take. He wasn't a good speaker in front of groups, but when house points and pride were on the line, he would jump into that leadership position. He... probably wasn't the best either, but someone had to try. |
Mystique group... Minerva smiled at her group. They seem to have a pretty big group. "Well I'm Minerva for anyone who doesn't know me." She then listened as Ella had talked about Mystique and so did the ravenclaw girl. "So she was good as well as evil. Hmm that's interesting. I didn't know they ever changed sides like that. At least she wasn't just pure evil, because I wouldn't have liked if she was." Minerva looked at the book and then up at her picture, "I think it's cool that she is blue. I don't know if that means anything for this project, but still.." Looking at the book a confused look crossed her face, " So if she was later voted into X Men that means she turned good for good. So how is she considered a villain now, if she ended up good?" |
All you jokers XD SPOILER!!: Max XD Alexa took another look around the group after the Professor had spoken. Introducing themselves...but she already knew all these people...then again...what if they forgot who she was??? She didn't think she was very forgettable but older kids had shoddy memories and she didn't want to take any chances. Nuh uh. She was about to start off the intros but the kid from the train beat her to it. Max. Right. That was his name, or well...now it was. Yeah, people didn't have names until she learnt them, deal with it. "And I'm Alexa Cambridge!" And a bit more about her for those who might have forgotten. "First year Gryffindor!" BEAM. She listened to everyone else make their little intros then turned her attention back to Max who had clearly decided he was leading this revolt, not that she minded. Older kids always took that spot anyway; it was just life. Of course she agreed with him completely when he said they were the strongest group. They had to be the strongest group 'cause they had the best people in it. Duh. When he held out a book she snatched it before anyone else could. "I can look up some stuff." Seee? She was even being all helpful and junk but before she could start skimming through the material he started talking about skits and posters. Even though he wasn't a Professor and she wasn't answering a question her hand flew up. "Oo! Oo! I have an idea!! If we do the skit can I be the Joker!!! Pleeeeaassseee?? I can be a maniac and all criminally insane, honest!" It was like her profession anyway, so why not get points for it? |
Team Mystique :) So, group work. Blech. Emmanuelle hated group work. She would rather use her own brain power to come up with something amazing then to be bogged down with endless discussion and disagreements over who's idea was better. One got done much quicker that way. But, she was here now and there was no way of getting out of it. Which meant that she had to participate. Ugh. She figured she better start with a introduction as Cassia and Eliza had, so she turned to the group and began to speak. "Hello. My name is Emmanuelle, but if it's easier for you you may call me Em or Emma. A seventh year." There, that was polite enough, right? While she listened as Eliza read out from the book they had been given, Em tried to think of ideas for their presentation. "Since this is such a large group, maybe we should do a skit or something? Something quick, of course, as we're going to have to present this at the end of class today?" Should work out pretty well. Except that they really wouldn't have much time for costumes or for an overly complex plot. Just something simple like a the ones on a variety show? Good question, kido! Em thought as Minerva spoke up. "Maybe something bad happened to her that pushed her over the edge?" Yep, that sounded like a good answer to her. |
Team Mystique Alright so they needed to do some kind of presentation about Mystique? Could he just do that for Gree-- eh who is he kidding. he's gonna have to suck it up and be part of the Blue Lady group and thats that. "Just give me a second ladies...." he murmured as he strode back to his bean bag and brought back that tome of a superhero encyclopedia. When he got back they were just doing the rounds of intros. "Uhm hi everybody, I'm Vickers...." he mumbled with a shy wave. Yes lets not shrink back to our shell shall we? He cleared his throat when they were starting to talk about Mystique and what she was "Right, she is a shapeshifter and has played both sides. Also part of her powers is that she doesnt age very fast." |
Mystique peeps Tugging on her robes a bit, Kurumi moved a little closer to the group and looked around at everyone as they began to discuss what they were going to do and just who Mystique was. When shape shifting was brought up, Kurumi sort of awkwardly raised her hand - more out of habit than anything else. "Um...I can do that...shape shift I mean...sort of...since I'm a metamorphagus...if we wanted to do some sort of demonstration or skit to explain her and her history..." she mumble shyly. If she tried hard enough she could probably make her skin blue too. She had never done it before, but it was possible. "Make the connection to our world that way..." Pause, awkward looks around. "Oh, um, Kurumi Hollingberry, seventh year..." For those that didn't know who she was. |

"I'm Genevieve Branxton." She nudged her baby lion with her foot in greeting. "Seventh year Ravenclaw. Pretty Much Awesome." She paused to let others introduce themselves before jumping in with her own thoughts. "I guess it's sort of a wash, but I feel really strongly that we shouldn't glorify our villain. We ought to show him with strengths and weaknesses, and we ought to show him getting defeated." Maybe too much? She just didn't want to make this whole thing about how shiny and awesome and neat the bad guys could be. "So what do we know?" |
Dr. Doom Quote:
"A skit sounds cool," Sierra said, but then she happened to overhear several other students around the room suggesting their own ideas. "...but it sort of seems like everybody else has the same idea." Frown. "Oh! We could make a flag in his honor! It could have all sorts of symbols relating to him, and we could use the symbols to tell his story." It was sort of like the biography idea Louisa had suggested. OOC: There's no way I can finish this by in the morning, because it's nighttime here, and I have to get up for work at 6 AM. So if you guys need to move on without me, please feel free to do so. ^_^ |
Joker! Text Cut: Lex and Vivi Max eyed Alexa, both when she took the book and when she proposed that she play the Joker. Max didn't have any objection to that, but... that wasn't really a vital thing for the group to establish just yet. So he just gave the young girl a smile of encouragement, but he was quite glad Vivi spoke up next so he didn't have to give a direct answer on the matter. "I think that's a good way to go about it," he agreed, slightly shifting his gaze to Em to see her opinion. "That way, we're more... morally correct and we don't just say 'this guy is a powerful villain because'... dot dot dot... or something of the sort. It's important to... punctuate that good still triumphs over evil." Right? Moving toward Lex to view the open book in her hand, Max leaned toward her to view the page. "The Joker is... the enemy to Batman," he stated, just in case others hadn't known that yet. "His real name is unknown, it says... highly intelligent, powerful in hand-to-hand combat, skilled chemist..." He skimmed the page with his finger. "Erm... his sanity seems to be quite non-existent. That could be a weakness, couldn't it? And... it doesn't look like he has any real super-powers or anything of the sort. He's just gotta go by his gadgets and 'criminally deranged mind.'" Or whatever their quiz had said. |
Joker :3 SPOILER!!: Max and Vivi <3 Lex gave Vivi a grin when she nudged her foot. Good to know someone remembered her fondly. She caught Mr. Bossman eyeing her but had no idea why so she just dismissed it and went on listening to everyone else. So far Vivi was giving her input and she was-- Wait, WHAAAT?! She wanted the bad guy to lose??? But...but in the muggle movies they usually won and if they lost it was because of some stupid reason or another. The villain losing?? The child was all choked up by this. No. Correction. Hearing Max say they needed to remain morally correct had her all choked up. Sweet Merlin. This was a VILLAIN class; all forms of moral should have been dropped at the door on the way in!!! Despite her strong disbelief in what the two were saying she kept quiet because they knew what they were doing and she was pretty clueless; what else was new? She thought it was her turn to speak when Vivi asked what they already knew but then Max crawled into her personal bubble and peaked inside the book. Hmph! She thought that was her job. She peered a bit further down on the page. "It also says he killed a lot of people but got away with it 'cause they said he was insane--" She looked up at the two with wide eyes. "Can you really get away with stuff if people think you've gone mad??" |
RIDDLER Group (Dustin, Awar & Sarah) let's work! SPOILER!!: Professor - Work in groups She didn't realize they were few in Riddler's group, like 4 or 5? And the Professor has instructed them to work in groups, plan for the presentation about their Villain. Ok...this is going to be a bit crazy.... She then fixed herself, stood up and started to talk in front of her group mates and introduced herself. "Hi! I'm Befelda Solster, First year. Well, I don't really know about Riddler's villain characteristics. But I guess, from his villain name, he loves dealing with riddles and puzzles, yes? Well, I've always wanted to be a Catwoman but since I love solving games and puzzles, well, it left me to this villain. So, let's start. How about you?"she asked the rest of the group. She barely know them really. |
Jokers!! Emmaleigh almost let out a laugh for several reasons when Cerulean said that they weren't villains. For one, that idea was pretty ridiculous, of course they weren't villains. And in her case, the Joker was her highest scored villain match, but apparently she was only 32% like him. As the professor explained what they would be doing for the rest of the class, Em scrunched up her nose. She was all for group work, but giving a presentation? No thanks. As some of the others introduced themselves, the girl followed suit. “Emmaleigh Swynford,” she said giving a little wave mostly to those she didn't really know. She smirked as Max said they were the strongest group. She wasn't too sure about that, but they were definitely the best. And Max wanted to make sure everyone's strengths were being used. That would be great if she had any strengths. Though when Lexa said she wanted to be the joker, Em nodded. “She gets my vote.” Because even if the girl couldn't figure out if someone was joking with her, Lexa was probably the only one willing to make a fool of herself in front of everyone. Em nodded at Vivi and Max's comments about not showing their baddie as being super awesome. “What is it that makes him always defeated?” she asked. “Like is there some sort of flaw that constantly occurs?” As Max read over some of the facts, Em found herself leaning over him to see the page as well. “Does it say where he comes from, and why he does what he does?” She said skimming the page they were on. “Maybe we could act out his origin story, or we could show one his major flaws, and how that leads to his defeat.” |

Awar listened to the girl who introduced herself first and smiled, "I'm Awarlesta Black, First Year as well." She looked at the poster of The Ridder. "Yeah, I don't know much about him either, but I assume you're right. He probably manipulates his enemies with riddles." |

She picked up their Book and began to skim through it some, learning quickly that his arch foe was someone or something called Ikaris and that his alter ego was En Sabah Nur AND that he was a Human Mutant. He also had several abilities such as Teleportation, Energy manipulation and Technopathy. whihch was totally cool in Logan's opinion. she looked up at the other girl almost forgetting she was there almost. She handed to book to her as she told her what she just picked up on him just by skimming |
Myself and the Invisable classmates *nods* Laura looked around at her group of people, well they all looked a bit shy, so she decided that she would do all the hard work reading the book, she didn't really want to but she wasn't going to put the rest of her group through doing something they wouldn't like. Laura smiled as she told them all her name and they one by one told her what their names where, she nodded at them all and smiled as she took the Dark Phoenix book and started to read it, she wanted to make sure she knew what she was doing before reading it out aloud. |

"Says here that he was all about survival of the fittest." She skimmed some more. "He didn't care what you were...you would be destroyed." Interesting. "He was merciless." It sounded like they had themselves a pretty awesome villian. He kind of sounded like Hannah a bit, but she kept that comment to herself for now. "So how do we go about this whole presentation."...that she didn't want to do. The other girl was older...she should do it. |
SPOILER!!: mystique group Minerva listened to all the group give there advice and chuckled a bit at the nervous way of Vickers. Leaning towards him she whispered, "Don't worry we won't make you sing to any plants this time." She gave him a friendly wink and then turned back to the group. Her mind was racing with the ideas in her head, "Has anyone ever seen XMen or read the comic?" She had seen the movie one time before, but it was so long ago she couldn't remember it. Then she turned to the Em girl, "I think a skit would be a great idea. We could be different X Men character and show how Mystique was a bad guy then turned good. Kurumi if you want to do mystique since you are a close shape shifter that would be great, if it's good with everyone else." |
Team Joker! (Max, Lex, Emmaleigh and Vivi) Bliss looked around her group, her was quite a few people in the group. Mainly older students, but that didn't bother her. There was Max, who she knew from Quidditch she remembered ruefully. Also the were a couple of older girls that she'd seen before and also Lex. Now things had gotten really interesting. If anything they had a range of personalities in the group. That was a good thing, right? She looked at each one of as they introduced themselves. Vivi and Emmaleigh were the other two girls, who's names she'd only just found out. She decided to introduce herself. "I'm Bliss Ryans and I'm a Second Year Hufflepuff," she explained and grinned at the group. She was normally shy and didn't like big groups, but Hogwarts had definitely brought the best out of her. Now she was loyal, outgoing and friendly. Then Max started talking about his strenghts and it made her question if she had any. "I..I'm not that good a speaker, but I'm friendly and I'm a good singer and I'm alright at acting," she told the group with a nod. Might as well get that out there. If there was one thing she wanted to do, it was sing. Bliss listened to the other ideas the group had. Lex wanted to do a little skit of some sort and she imagined Lex would be good at that. She carried on listening. They all made lots of good points about the Joker's strengths and weaknesses, but Bliss strangely liked the skit idea. "Um. I think the skit idea is good, we could incorporate a lot of things in it," Bliss explained her view before lowering her eyes but still smiled. GIGGLE. This would be fun. |
Team Dr. Doom Quote:
The Ravenclaw waited for the others to give their input as she flipped through the books, looking for more clues about the man that could be used in this project. |
Mr. Freeze! (With Macavity // Gideon Gert) Text Cut: Macavity & Lezleighd ... well this is a bummer. Kat was going to work alone with someone she didn't really know but ONLY through his title and Quidditch position. Chaser and Gryffindor Prefect Gideon Gert. Oh well, it was kind of better than working alone right? But the aura was weird... Gryffindor & Slytherin together? Merlin, since when did this ever be more awkward than now? Uhh.. yeah. Kat looked at the older student and shrugged. She was shy. But she had to say something. "Hi..." at least she managed a formal greeting. "I'm Katrina Hudson." This was beyond awkward. |
Jokers. x3 Teach the class about the Villian? Alright then, that didn't sound too hard, but Nessie did have to admit that she was almost clueless when it came to villians. She didn't watch too many of these superhero movies. All she knew was there names and that was about it. Thank goodness her group was big, for that matter and thank goodness they had information too. Before saying anything, Ness looked around at who else had joined her. She didn't know any of them too well. They were all just aquantainces, except Bliss. Bliss she knew. "I'm Renesmee Dixon, but please call me Nessie or Ness." Because only few people called her by her full name, not that she minded it too much. Nod. Nod. Nod. trying to absorb what they had all been saying, Nessie just nodded her head. Insane. Right was a weakness and a strength in her opinion. Weakness because it meant you did crazy things, but strength because it was a good excuse not to be arressted. Not too hard this stuff then. "Also it say's that he jokes around a lot, maybe that could be seen as a weakness because he might get distracted from that?" Or maybe he didn't get distracted, but Ness knew she would have. "As for the presentation, I can sort of act, I can't sing and my drawing isn't too good either. I'm more of a dancer." Not that she thought it would help much. She didn't mind helping out with speaking though, that she was used to all the time on the pitch. "I can talk though, if need be?" Yeah she would go with whatever the others wanted, she didn't mind. "Oh..um..and I can screech very loud, if you maybe want to use that for insanity?" She looked at her shoes not sure if that was the right thing to say. |
Mystique peeps :) Ella listened as her classmates talked, discussing background and possible ideas as to how they could explain Mystique. She smiled at Kurumi as she volunteered to be Mystique and showcase her capabilities, thinking that was quite nice. "I think it would be really neat to have you do that, Kurumi." BEAM. "But would a skit with this many people be too hard to manage, given we'd want to keep it fairly simple?" Especially since they probably didn't have a lot time. Too bad Oakey wasn't in their group, then they could have done a rap song or something about the woman. That would have been quite easy to perform. They could still do a song though, if the others were willing to. "We could um...make up a short song about her to sing and Kurumi could still do her thing...I mean it wouldn't have to be too long or anything." Not that Ella was a particularly good singer, she was rubbish actually, but she didn't mind giving it a go. Shrug. That was just her two cents. |
