Not without purpose mind you. "Aunt Cece, Aunt Cece, did you see where Aspen went? I don't know where she is. Did you see my new broom? This is my broom." He hefted it. "I don't have any money for the food trolley. I lost my dad. And my sister. Can you make Vivi buy me stuff? Can you buy me stuff? I'll be the ONLY one on the train that can't get stuff." Here he inserted the well practiced puppy dog look. "Where's Mo? How come Mo isn't here? Can Mo come here next year? I'll show him around and everything."
Seemingly only just noticing other adults, West looked them over curiously, noted first the pretty hair of that one (it was red and glowy) and then the empty mug of Missus Lainey, which he got all interested about. He could use that to collect donations! Food trolley donations!
Also. "Hi."
And also also, "Just so you all know, you're probably all too big to go on the roof. You'll get knocked off or squished in the tunnels." Just so they knew. Quote:

"No fawning to speak of." Really, it was enough to make a woman just feel... old. Irrelevant. Did Anj ever suffer from feeling like her most important work was behind her?
And then she almost got a broom to the head as West Odessa appeared as a miniature tornado-child. It took a moment to sort out all the many many thoughts/feelings/questions/concerns/issues that were flung at her, and she put out a hand to rest on the top of his head as she worked on a response.
"West, I just got here and haven't had time to see anyone but the Headmistress, Mr. Amoroso, and Professor Lainey. I'm sure Aspen is waiting for you on the train." Aspen was responsible and level-headed, and that was exactly the right place to be... therefore, that was where Aspen was. She admired the broom, especially once it moved away from her face. Boys and brooms. Sigh.
She fished a Galleon from her pocket. "One Galleon for trolley food, and you can ask Vivi yourself for more. Have you seen her? She wanted to bring herself today."
And that roof thing? It was disturbing. She gave the Headmistress a side-long glance to see if she'd picked up on it. Oh? No fawning? Anastasia returned Rae's long glance with one of her own. This child... thing... broom attachment certainly seemed to be fawning. That or he was related to her somehow. As it was, Annie was more focused on taking in the child's appearance and model of broom than she was listening to him ramble.
"Is this one of yours, Cassandra?" the redhead inquired politely. Didn't look a thing like her, but there was no harm in asking. Also, was the child addressing her? Was it he even Hogwarts-aged?!
"Just so you know," she answered the boy's hi with a stern face, "There will be no climbing, riding, or go-ing on the roof of the Hogwarts Express. I will see to it personally that you get delivered to Hogwarts in one piece and inside the cars of the Express."
FYI, broom boy. She had her eyes on you now. Quote:

Zan cleared his throat.
They had come to see Annie off, obviously. Her ears, however, were always tuned in to her mother senses. Hearing her name, or some variation thereof, Annie squeaked and turned around in a haste to try to discern where the baby sound had come from. She turned in a few tiny circles before she spotted them, and then abandoned the Board of Governors and the Broom Boy without much ado.
She reached Ethan and the boy in a few quick steps, reaching her arms out to take the baby first. "Daaaaaavie." Annie leaned in and gave him and Ethan kisses. "You didn't have to come all the way here," she clucked at her hubby, though she was obviously pleased with the surprise.

"So are you excited to go back to Hogwarts? I am. Greingoth and I had amazing times there." He said and then he heard the Branxton woman.
"The VP made a command decision and we followed... Literally. Which seems she is now taking back." That's why they had walked. "It's not so bad. A little exercise never hurt anyone."
Oh it had been her idea? Good to know. Also good to know that when VP Lainey gave commands, people followed. "I command you all do synchronized hokey pokey. Or maybe unsynchronized." Quote:

The legends. Rae & Lainey. Hopefully they would... interact with the children and allow her to read in the corner of the train in peace. Was that too much to ask? Really? Was it?
Directing her attention back toward Amoroso, Annie's brow furrowed some. "Romania... hmm. The Daily Prophet must have their sources wrong...again." No surprises there, but she didn't care. Syllie had already written a flattering piece about her promotion so the rest of the paper could down in flames for all she cared.
"I am excited to return, yes. I do hope the castle has been kept up in terms of maintenance." She frowned, knowing that the groundskeeper she had worked with in the past was long gone. "So you know the Minister from school, I take it?"
COUGH. GAG. SPLUTTER. DRY HEAVE.
No big deal. Just something in her throat. "Excuse me." Quote:

Good sound advice from one A. Lainey. Quote:

"I'm in favor of frivolity in its place. And flying carpets are illegal, which makes them automatically cool, doesn't it?" Heck, the Branxtons had a flying carpet, although they were only permitted to use it abroad. Mo, in particular, was a fan.

Leon Odessa | heh. Feels weird not posting Leon *eyes Tegz* The Eye of Sauron | Zan-y | Snake Charmer Err... yes.
He nodded politely around at... Lainey and Rae. They got nods. Except... err... Lainey's was a reverse nod. A 'sup' in fact. And a man whom he was aware, thanks to Annie, was the new Undersecretary, he also got a nod. A regular nod. The... child thing with the broom got ignored. He had his hands full with his own. And then he didn't because Annie as usual welcomed David into her arms. Used to be just for him, those arms.
But sharing was alright in this case.
He didn't? Ethan looked perplexed. "I think you'd have been put out with me had I not, Annie." And while he remembered. "I sent a little something on ahead, to your new office."
Ahem. And another kiss, if you please. He would miss her terribly. Always did when she was not close by, and this time it was she who was off to Hogwarts without him, instead of the other way around. |

She was completely able to ignore all the other commotion around the train when her family was there because... well, wherever they were, was her home.
And now she just wanted to know what he'd sent ahead. "Is it a present? For me? Something? A plant?" Was it something useful? Pretty? Decorative? Now she actually wanted to get on the train and GO now, something she had definitely been dreading earlier, if only to find out what IT was.
Good going, darling.
"It's going to be weird, not having you there," she admitted. "Even with the house in Hogsmeade..."
They wouldn't be sitting next to each other at the feasts or anything.

Adeline kept a steady but fast walk she wanted to get back to Hogwarts as fast as she could. No more muggle world, no more family, only her school work, teachers and her friends. And the beautiful castle of course.
Addie reached the walk between the platforms and looked around she must have left Asher in the dust but oh well he would find her soon enough. Adeline frowned but turned to the wall again. Just and her owl now. Adeline waited a couple of seconds. "Here I come year three." Well Asher was going to carry his and Adeline's things or at least get a trolley so they could toss all of their stuff on it and push it. By the time Asher had his things out of the car she was gone. Long gone.
He rubbed the back of his neck. How did she get gone so fast? He glanced back at his sisters, they wasn't going anywhere fast they still had the kids it get out of the car yet.
Asher shook his head and went off to find Adeline. He grabbed a cart and put is things on it.
And there she was standing against the wall. He walked up behind her and put his hand around hers "Here we come." He grinned down at her.

She was happy to be going to a place that felt like a real home, a home that whenever she was there she didn't feel useless or have to worry about some things happening and Asher knowing the truth about her and her parents made her sleep easier at night because she didn't have to make up a lie. Hogwarts RPG Name: Mugwort "Mug" Tanner First Year | chocolate frog hunter
There was a busy crowd outside of kings cross station, easy to lose someone in the crowd, and if it was easy for someone to disappear surely a family of four could easily appear out of thin air and not be noticed? Well whatever the answer Hoitt and Lucille Tanner apparated, behind an empty parked car, holding the hands of their two twin daugthers, Carigan and Reagan.
Carigan held a sizable trunk in her hand which her father took from her as soon as he recovered from the sick feeling her always got from apparition. The other girl, Reagan, had no baggage since her school didn't start for another week. It was now easy to tell the two girls apart since Carigan had gotten her ears pierced when she had gone school shopping in Diagon alley.
The family walked now towards the station as if nothing had happened, as if they had not appeared of thin air, and those who had seen them would rub their eyes and just supposed they had "imagined it".

Hogwarts RPG Name: Lane Fargo First Year |
A family of three easily made there way through the crowd that had appeared. Horace Fargo grabbed on to his little boy's hand, much to Lane's dismay. He didn't want to seem like a daddy's boy. Luckily, his mother was smart enough to make his father let go. "Now son, remember what I told you! Feed Cola everyday, and don't forget your homework!" His father had told him that for the past twenty minutes. Cola squeaked at the mention of his name. The poor rat was tired of being stuck in a cage, and Lane wanted to let him out. His mother once again began to mumble to his father, no doubt telling him it was ok.
His parents waved one last time before he was left to fend for himself. Lane waved and smiled back at his parents. He stood still a moment after they disappeared. Soon, he realized they never told him how to get to the train! A small amount of panic began to set inside his stomach. He considered asking somebody, but most of these people were muggles, right?

He then grinned remembering what his dad had said that it would be fine if Adeline needed to crash there again next summer or anytime you needed. "Dad said you're welcome to stay if you want."
He realized that they were kinda of standing in the way here. The wall to the platform was right behind him. "Ready?" He took his hand back in hers again. "Together?"

Addie's jaw dropped. "Are you...I mean is he sure?" this was amazing, but why would his father do that? He barely knew her. "So that's what it's like to have nice parents...I mean a nice father? I wouldn't know, Asher." She had to stop bringing up the horrible family thing to Asher. She was finally talking to someone about her muggle life and she felt as if she was talking about it to much.
Adeline nodded. "I'm ready." She blushed when she felt his hand grip hers again. Her heart started to race and she knew this was going to be a great year because she was going to be with her friend Asher. But Addie wanted something more with him. "Together." she smiles at the ground.

Jayden smiled confidently as she entered the public square. After three years of practice, she was ready to take on the wall, and head straight for the back of the train where she and the rest of her schoolmates sat. "Oh merlin," She sighed as she rubbed her grumbling belly. "Well, at least there will be food on the train.." Jayden added with a smile, as she waved goodbye to her parents.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Elizabeth Wilkinson First Year | Elizabeth Wilkinson~First year "C'mon, Dad," Beth whined at her father as he picked up her trunk and placed it on the trolly her mother had brought over. "I'm gonna miss the train at this rate!"
She was, perhaps, a little more impatient than the rest of the children around her. But how many of them had been tortured by all the wonderful tales their parents told them about the (literally) magical school they were about to attend?
"I can't go any faster, Beth. The train is hardly going to leave you behind what with you being so early, is it?"
Beth rolled her eyes and headed over to her mother who laughed at her daughter's antics. "This is your fault, Ben. You're the one who told her-"
Beth tuned her parents out as they playfully argued while they headed into King's Cross station proper, and towards platforms 9 and 10. |

Aunt Cece and Professor Lainey wouldn't be here with her if she wasn't, right? "Nahhh Aspen has been MOODY, did you know? Really MOODY. She just hangs about in her room and tells me she's busy and stuff. So if she is on the train already probably she'll do that TOO." It was WELL sad. "Thanks Aunt Cece!" West took the offered galleon and pocketed it gleefully. And he WOULD ask Vivi. He would. "Nah I haven't seen her. But I wasn't looking for her, I was looking for Aspen and my dad." And if he wasn't looking for her he probs wouldn't have noticed if he HAD seen her, see? Quote:

"Is this one of yours, Cassandra?" the redhead inquired politely. Didn't look a thing like her, but there was no harm in asking. Also, was the child addressing her? Was it he even Hogwarts-aged?!
"Just so you know," she answered the boy's hi with a stern face, "There will be no climbing, riding, or go-ing on the roof of the Hogwarts Express. I will see to it personally that you get delivered to Hogwarts in one piece and inside the cars of the Express."
FYI, broom boy. She had her eyes on you now. "Its okay, really. I did it already. Last term." West consoled the redhead that was apparently the headmistress. What did she mean by PERSONALLY? Was she going to sit with him on the train? Headmistress or not, West wasn't sure he was down with that. "Well it was SUPER nice to meet you." Sure but would have been nicer if she gave him some money. Quote:

Good sound advice from one A. Lainey.
"Mountain trolls?" West digested this. "Bats?" Like Aspen's bat? HEY YEAH HIS BROOM WAS COOL. West modelled it obligingly, like a famous Quidditch Player from one of the magazines. Somewhere between Nikolai Vannacutt and Marco Denver. "You think I COULD?" FLY to Hogwarts? West was SO TEMPTED! Could he? COULD HE REALLY? But then again, he had a galleon to spend AND possibility of getting another galleon or two as well. "Maybe on the way home. I have to go to the food trolley. Nobody even told me about it last year." West paaaused and looked around at the adults.
He was kinda done with them now that no more Galleons were apparently forthcoming. Unless Lainey felt like sharing too? He fixed his BEST puppy dog earnest look on her. "See I have to catch up on trying all the trolley food since I didn't know last year, and that means that I have to be on the train and get to the trolley before all the good stuff is gone. Its like a experiment. I have a Galleon now, but I don't even know if it will be enough, and I don't know where my dad is." Alms.
Alms.

I would think you and Mo would have long discussions about how very moody sisters can get," Cassandra offered helpfully as she put away the rest of her coins and turned back to smile fondly at West. He was looking so much like his father... it was lovely, really.
"If I see Aspen or your father, I'll tell them to come find you." And because she was sure he deserved it, Cassandra petted down his hair and kissed West on the forehead. "Be GOOD. Or lie to me and say you'll try."

Lainey gave her nose a little scratch and glanced around in a paranoid fashion.
Side eyes.... side eyes... followed by a very discrete duck. "Just don't tell anyone you got the idea from me. Be a free thinker, West Odessa, and claim all your ideas and stop begging for money. It's un-Slytherin, you know."
You knoooooooooooow. "But generally, trolley food isn't elf made. I think I'll go make sure. Just because you have a good house elf at home, doesn't mean you should trust them all." And even the Odessa elf was QUESTIONABLE.
Seemingly at random, Lainey turned and boarded the train without a word to her traveling companions.
