The Badgers, reigning House Cup and Gobstones Tournament champions, sit under a bright black and gold banner representing their house. The candles light it up nicely in spite of the gloomy, turbulent skies above.
Emilia listened quietly to William's quick story, getting the sense that there was more behind it than what he said. "How has it been living with your sister? What does she do at the Ministry?" she asked, sensing that he didn't want to talk about his life at Durmstrang. "Well, we're both starting fresh. My Father was transferred here from the US," she told him. "Literally a week ago," she said with a sigh.
She listened quietly to his advice and gave a small smile. "House elves, got it," she said with a nod. At his question, she nodded with a sigh. "Yes... and I literally left so quickly that I don't even think half my friends knew that I left," she said, her mood falling once again. She had been looking forward to the year, and her classes, even a certain someone... but that was across the ocean now. She cleared her throat, not wanting to think about that. "So, um, what's your favorite class here?" she asked.
Will thought of how to respond to her question about his sister. He was an extremely private person when it came to his family life, only sharing details with a select few. But as long as he wasn't speaking of his parents he decided to try to keep an open mind to her question. "It's fine" he told her, "We've always gotten along well so we are making it work" He added. Truth be told that William worried that he was too much stress on his sister. Meredith was only twenty-four and should have to look after her kid brother. "She works in the Floo Department for the Department of Magical Transportation." He told her. "She origionally worked for the Bulgarian Ministry but transfered a few years ago."
He listened to her talk about how quickly she was uprooted. With that he truely felt sorry for her. At least when he transfered he had seen it coming. She didn't even have that. "I'm sorry that you had to leave so soon, but I do hope that you enjoy it here. Most people do" He told her running his hand through his hair. "My favorite class is potions." He said with a warm smile. "And yours?" He asked curiously.

And there was that Nate kid, jumping to Oakey's defence. Typical. Pfft. Losers will stick with losers after all. He heard a small voice peep up from beside him informing him that she thought he was scary. "I'm not scary... I'm gorgeous. There IS a difference ya know."
He had been about to start shouting back at Oakey, giving him some more insults, when he was all of a sudden pulled down from his chair and called a twit! How rude!!! If it had been anyone other than the Head Girl he may have punched them in the face. "What is with this? Is everyone against me today?" it was then he noticed his friend, "Oh hey Vickers!"
Elijah did as he was told and followed the Head Girl. He had no idea what had gotten her knickers in such a knot, "You could have asked me nicely, ya know. You didn't have to go assaulting me." Groaning he rubbed the side of his neck where the collar had dug in.
Looking between Louisa and Vickers he was trying to suss out what on Earth this little shindig could be about. Moving his attention back and forth between the two 'Claws had actually given him an idea though...
"Wait, Louisa! You're a girl, rigggghtt? And your smart! Well, Vickers is a boyyy and he is smart too. What d'ya say to a wee date with my bro, Vee here? Maybe the first weekend of Hogsmeade? Eh?" a smile spread across his face, completely forgetting moments before this girl had tried to harm him and that she needed to talk to him about something serious, apparently.

The Ravenclaw walked slowly toward him, crossing her arms, having gotten rid of her outer robe back at the Ravvie table, and waited for him to finish whatever he wanted to say.
How Prefect-y of him to do this.
...looking gorgeous and how to get girls... I can help the ladies with their boy troubles too..
VERY Prefect-y, indeed.
Louisa refused to smirk or show any kind of amusement by this piece of speech. Instead, and as soon as he finished, she leaped forward grabbing his collar. "Ignore the twit, please!" She added after him and tuuugged at the collar. "Get your butt off the bench this second and follow me. We need to talk." Or us, because Vickers was here too. She released his shirt and took a couple of steps to the back, with a very sterny Louisa-ish look on her face.

The Curly One however.....
And speaking of the devil, there he is again, standing on his seat and addressing his house like a Prefect. He is seriously not still keeping up that charade is he? Normally Vickers would stay out of each House' business, but this was the second time Elijah's mouth and that bravado was out on public display that could get him into another mess.
If only Vickers was callous enough not to care...
He was about to discreetly ask him to get down from his seat when Louisa collared him. Okay, the direct approach. Well when it comes to Elijah maybe that was more effective no?
Good thing this Ravenclaw willingly stood up and followed her. He'd hate to get wrinkles on his uniform so early in the evening.
Oakey felt like he was doing really well with this verbal duel. He turned Elijah's own insult against him, plus he had a small single person peanut gallery in the form of Nate Jone. he shot the third year a look that hopefully would give Nate the clue to sit down. He appreciated the gesture, but again this was between him and the Maniac. How was he supposed to prove he wasn't a boy anymore when you've got a younger kid backing you up?
he was about to deliver Elijah a verbal onslaught when suddenly Elijah dropped out of sight, along with a very loud name calling of TWIT! Wondering what it was the pulled his opponent down to the ground Oakey hopped down from his chair and into the aisle between his and the other House Table (ooc: not sure who is next to us)
Hey wasn't that the Head Girl, the one he helped retrieve a cat for, and Vickers was with her. He didn't look to pleased and neither did Louisa, that didn't stop him giving them a friendly wave, "GOOD ONE LOUISA!" He called out.
Leave!?!? What no! Oakey had one last thing he wanted to say to Elijah, before the Head Girl could drag him away Oakey marched forward and looked the Maniac straight in the eye. "Elijah Wilde, I want a duel!" Oakey jammed his index finger into the older hufflepuff's chest. "No boots, and no bowling." Elijah was slightly taller than he was so he had to look up some. "I'm sick of playing games with you and I want to settle this once and for all!"
Where had Oakey gone and who switched this Gryffindor in his place? No, it was still Oakey, he just didn't want to be taken lightly and treated like a child anymore by his peers. What better way than to put Elijah in his place by winning against him in a duel!

Alexa looked up and so a familiar face, but frowned a bit when she saw he was in a different house. Was she ever going to find someone in her house to get to know. She thought of the older boy on the train she met, but she hadn't seen him since they left with that portkey. "Hey DJ... Are you happy about your house?"

Alexa smiled at Maxwell and moved over in case he would want to sit down. "Your fine, I was just zoned out I guess." she chuckled, because she knew it wasn't the first time and wouldn't be the last that she would be caught doing that. Then she frowned a bit, "Oh thanks, I guess it's a good house." she still wasn't sure how she felt about the house. "What are you doing over at this table?" she knew he said everyone in different houses were friends, but she still wasn't sure that she believed it.
Belle didn't think there was anything wrong with being homeschooled. "Aww it is fine to be new. Trust me if you need any help with your classes, you can always talk to me." she smiled and put her arm on her shoulder. "The professors here are amazing and they will always help you out in class if you do not get a concept." Belle reassured her. "I can even help you out in the common room because i know i will be in there studying for my exams at the end of the year. But seriously sk for help if you need it." She smiled and hopefully got through to her.
Still in shock over the the talk around... surviving Hogwarts, and she was pretty she had just heard someone talking about someone dying. Surely that had been a long time ago or a fluke or... or... a joke! Yes, that was probably what it was, a joke.
But, if it was just a joke, why was her heart pounding against her ribs?
Barely aware of the older girl still sitting next to her, Sutton just nodded absently, her mind swirling with anxious thoughts. Fearing that she would panic even more if she continued down the path her brain had wandered, she flashed the girl her best attempt at a smile and tucked more hair behind her ears, and then untucked it, a compulsion born of years of correction at the hand of her mother. Sutton needed to change the subject...
"Thanks. So, what's that badge for on your chest?" Sutton asked, proud of her ability to make small talk for the moment in spite of her mounting irrational fears.
Awar hesitated at first. "She's in your house, I believe. Don't hex her or anything. She may be rude, but she's still family."
Awar curiously looked at Nate and Ari. "Yeah, what is it? I haven't heard of it. Quidditch? Oh, no, no, no. I looove to watch Quidditch, but I'm not good at sports!" She said laughing
Awar watched as Ari introduced herself to a Hufflepuff not far from them. "And I'm Awarlesta!" She threw in there as she waved her arms in an awkward manner.

Ari's noise scrunched up with distaste, but she promised herself that she wouldn't say anything to Presley if she ever came across here in the common room...
She then listened intently as Nate described and explianed the game of Gobstone. Ari liked learning new things and it sounded like a fun game so she would have to try learning it sometime, maybe get the cup for her own house.
Ariella's tummy finally started to get fed up with the lack of food in it and growled in protest. Her hand shot towards her stomach and she frowned at hit, "Shhh! The feast will start soon and then I'll feed you," Yes, it was weird talking to your stomach like it was a pet but Ari didn't really care...

Dylan continued walking down the hufflepuff table to see what other people were doing, and then realised that he might catch the attention of the older puffs on the table and he decided that it would be best if he left and went over to another table. But just as he was about to leave he saw a girl look at him and recognised her instantly, he had met her on the train.
Suddenly she was talking to him "Hi Alexa.. umm yeah I am. Though kinda bummed that one of my friends that I met got sorted into Ravenclaw.. but she is happy there.. so" he shrugged and chuckled a little.. as he looked at the other puffs before looking back at her "How are you doing?" he asked her.. wondering how she was seeing as he had noticed that little frown that she had worn when she had started talking to him.

Real quick, separate TL just before Oakey stood up.

Oakey gave the girl from his Carriage the most annoyed look ever. She wasn't getting the point to stop before she scares the first year Gryffie to the point of no return. "I know a lot of people got hurt." Oakey placed a hand on his head and shook it back and forth, "Okay, so if someone had to have died, then who?" Who died? was it him? was he a ghost and just didn't know it? Odd, Oakey felt like he thought of this some time last year as well.

He said "So, are you looking forward to classes with other kids?" he asked, remembering she was in private lessons.

Dylan listened to Alexa "Really? Well I am sure you will make alot of new friends soon in this house and the others too" he smiled a little.. he knew just what she meant. Even he didnt know anyone new.. and especially from his house.. well he did know Lex and now that prefect that punished him but thats it.
He looked at her as she answered the question he was about to ask next.. ok was this girl a mind reader or something.. he sure hoped not! "Yeah I guess it will take a little time but you will find out how it is. Might not be as cool as Gryffindor but I am sure it will come close to that" he chuckled as he joked. Ok now he was joking with her.. so she wasnt so bad. "Yeah once this feast is over I think everyone will be going to bed" not Dylan though he had a lot of planning to do!
Was he having fun? not really "Well I mean its fun being here after all this time.. you know? But it's kinda boring a little.. which is why I was walking around the Hall" to see what people were up to on their own tables. But he wouldn't tell her that yet.. he didn't know if she would reveal what he was upto or would she keep quiet.

"Thanks. So, what's that badge for on your chest?" Sutton asked, proud of her ability to make small talk for the moment in spite of her mounting irrational fears.
"Oh well my badge basically means i'm a prefect. You can become one when the head of your house thinks you have done a good job and you have good work ethics and what not." Belle said as it was no big deal. "You can become one too if you work hard which is a hufflepuff trait of course." Belle said. She noticed Sutton looked nervous and decided to take it easy on her with the chatting.
Sophie wasn't sure what was going ON with her life. Everything, absolutely everything bad was happening with/around her! One would think she would have gotten used to all of this now, but nope. She wished she could go back in time and... well, she had no idea how she would be able to change everything that happened during the summer break, so going back in time wouldn't do any good anyway.
After all of the commotion of the train, portkeys, Hogsmeade, carriages and yadda yadda, the third year slowly made her way to the Hufflepuff table. This time she was not cheerful and didn't have a smile on her face. She wasn't even excited to be back this time and was most definitely not looking forward to try and cheer those firsties that were going to hate on their house as soon as they were sorted.
Sophie quickly glanced at some people around the table and frowned confused at Elijah and Oakey as they both stood up and shouted at each other.
Yep, that was Hogwarts!
She would have been amused by that sight if she wasn't feeling like going to the dorms and doing nothing until... maybe the other week? Though she was looking forward to some classes. They should be fun no matter what.
Not noticing some different faces at the staff table, Sophie took a seat next to a random person - she didn't pay attention to who it was, really - and placed her elbows on the table, burying her face on her hands. Sigh. She just wanted this Feast to be over so she could go to bed.

Because she had been helping patch the kids up, the girl was one of the last to leave the station, and therefore, caught one of the last carriages. She had been in a daze, and didn’t even really know who she had rode with to the castle. Once she had disembarked, Emmaleigh trudged forward from the carriages. A crack of thunder had made her jump, and scurry into the castle, and she continued into the great hall. Her eyes scanned the hall. It was fill to the brim with students already. Most of them had received a second wind of sorts. They were as energetic and lively as if nothing weird had happened that evening. And the dais was full with all the staff, the staff that would have been very helpful back at the station. With a sight, the girl headed over to the table under the yellow and black banners. She stuffed her bag under her seat. It was the one piece of her luggage that she had had with her in the food trolley, and she really hoped the rest of it would show up like it usually did. When she sat down, she rested her head in her hands and let her long red hair fall into her face. How much longer until food and sleep?

Boy, with every new word spoken she was beginning to think that she had left a table filled with semi-sane people only to end up in a nut house! People were eating pygmy puffs and giving love advice then challenging each other to duels and talking about people dying. Just what went through the heads of puffers anyway?!?!
She couldn't help but notice a very familiar person had taken a sat just across the table from where she was. She smiled, glad to see that her friend had made it to the feast. With all that had been going on one could never be too alert.
"Hey Emm!" She called to the girl. "What took you so long?" She asked, tilting her head a little and looking over at her. Most of the students were already here...she was late.

Emi sensed that she had touched on a sensitive topic, and wasn't going to push it any further when he began to speak. She was the youngest of three, and her siblings had always gotten along as well. But, she had a feeling she knew what Will was going through- that is, if he thought along the same lines as she did, didn't want to be a burden. "That's cool," she said, nodding in understanding. "Was the transfer her decision or the department's?" she asked, for it seemed strange that both siblings had to transfer from Bulgaria to the United Kingdom.
She felt a mix of emotions as William replied. Even though she was complaining, she didn't really want to be pitied. However, she had brought it on herself. She sat a little straighter, trying to push all of the sadness at her move away- or at least into a back corner of her mind. "Well, that's good to hear," she said with a small smile. "I would hate to have transferred to a place people didn't like."
Emilia listened and nodded. "Potions isn't back, I'm more of a Defense Magic fan though," she said. "Or..." realizing that they had a different term for it Defense Against the Dark Arts? That's it... I also like Transfiguration," she said with a grin. Both were challenging, but she had bested everyone else in her school at them- just the way she liked it.

Alice wobbled into Great Hall on her splint. She had been given a pair of crutches to walk on until she could visit the Healer. She didn't really care if she had come into the Feast looking really awkward— on crutches, with a large fiberglass splint. She had adjusted to them very quickly; it wasn't that hard to walk on them. As soon as she entered the Hall, she headed for the Hufflepuff Table. Most of her friends would be there, yeah? She hadn't seen Alec since she had been dragged away from him. She hadn't even met Ella on the train, but Alec had told her that she was okay. And she hadn't seen Messer since summer! Lord. He was probably being ambushed by firsties or something.
The lioness made her way over to the Hufflepuffs unstably. This fiberglass split was still a bit heavy for her, it seemed to be throwing her off balance. Why couldn't she just break.. like.. an arm instead? Why did it have to be her leg?
Finally Hogwarts. They're forced using portkey to go to Hogwarts after something happened with the train. And the dizziness affect from the portkey was still there. Maybe after he eat something the dizziness will gone but he need to wait till the sorting was over and the Headmistress speech before he could eat something.
Messer walked to his house table hoping that someone has something for his dizziness or maybe some candies or chocolate. He shouldn't had eat all of his snacks during his ride back to Hogwarts. He should know better than that.
Hufflepuff table. Home sweet home.
Was that Alice? "Alice? What's that?D-did something happen to you?" She was alright when he met her during the summer.
SPOILER!!: Alec <3

But... the thing was, it wasn't, was it? And no matter how many times someone told him that it'll be okay, it wouldn't stop the hurt. Yeah... being a teenager sucked. And to think he was turning fourteen within the month. Speaking of, that was something else he was afraid of; turning fourteen. Being thirteen wasn't too great so... what if being fourteen ended up being even worse?
Shrugging, Alec walked forwards and over towards the Hufflepuff table without glancing anywhere else. At this point, he would have looked for someone he knew to sit with. But, right now, he really didn't know who to sit with. There was no Messy, no Ells and no Sophs. And definitely no Keefer. ... Great. His first Hogwarts feast without the guy that was like an older brother to him. This... was sad.
The third year nudged along and sat down at an empty spot somewhere along the table. Yeah... everything seemed really different now. ... When was the ice cream going to come, again?
He just realized how weird this term was. No Ellie. No Keefer. Speaking of Keefer, he wondered who got the Captain Badge this term. He was sleeping most of the time during the train ride so he missed who's who this term. Well, he'd found out soon enough.
Oh. Look, there's Alec.
"Wassup, mate!" he pat his roommate shoulder. "What's with the gloom face? Did you miss me that much?" Poor guy.

Hmm, well he seemed sincere in his sorry. She gave him a nod. "It's fine, just that some people are a little tired after the day we've all had." She looked over at Emm once more who seemed completely wiped out. She must have stayed behind to help like Genevieve; such caring people they were.
She turned her attention to the boy again when he spoke his name. Her smile grew wider. "Well hi there Noah, I'm Alexa, Alexa Cambridge." Then she extended her hand for him to shake; it was a little awkward with her right hand being out of whack but the left would have to do.

This girl had so many questions about his personal life. When she was asking abou his sister he didn't mind as much, but geez who really wanted to know everything about you the first timet that they met. Regarless he decided to answer her anyways. "She decided to transfer. She went to Hogwarts and missed England. She transfered here first and then decided it was best if I came with her" He said summing it all up. Both Will and his sister loved Bulgaria but Will prefered it more than Meredith did.
William could instantly tell that he had struck a nerve when he had said that he was sorry for Emilia. With the change in her body language he could tell that he probably shouldn't have said that. He was kind of shocked, he had just been trying to be polite but apparently that wasn't how she took it. He decided not to say anything though. They had just met and there was no need to get off on bad terms. He gave her a smile and a nod as she said that she was glad to here that Hogwarts was a nice place. Part of him wondered if she was saying that just to please him so he decided not to respond with anymore than the nod.
Potions was without a doubt his favorite. It ran in the family, it was his sister's and father's as well. He was slightly confused when she spoke of DADA by a different name, but they were on the same track once again as she corrected herself. "Thats not so bad" He said to her as she spoke about Defense Against the Dark Arts. "I have to say that I like Defense Against the Dark Arts better than transfiguration though" He said with a small laugh.

"Its nice to meet you." He says as he shakes her hand
"Yeah well...weird question but shere do your things go? I couldnt find my luggage or my owl George..." Noah says. He was worried about him.

She gave him a firm shake but didn't return the social compliment. What could she say? She didn't like telling people that it was nice meeting them until she was certain for a fact that it was. Why waste a compliment on someone who didn't deserve it? Though so far he seemed okay....
"Oh, um...that's a good question. When I asked an older kid she said they were taken to our rooms--I'm not sure how that works," She quickly put in before he could question it, "So I'm guessing your owl was taken to the Owlery...I'm just not sure what happened to Felix..." Though now that she thought about it he was probably up in the room she would be staying in. Gosh she hoped he wasn't lonely; he liked sleeping in her lap while she stroked his fur!
It kinda felt nice being the one who knew the answer. Merlin new she was clueless about almost everything!

Em looked up when she felt someone poking her shoulder. Shaking her head, she gave the boy a small smile. “No, not sleeping, just tired is all.” It had been a long day stressful day, and she had bottled in so much fear and terror in the last couple of hours that she was so on edge.
The ginger looked across the table when she heard her name. “Hey Lexa, I see you were sorted into Gryffindor.” Of course, Em wasn’t too surprised, someone that though it was a good idea to climb a train was dumb enough to be in Gryffindor. “ I was helping back at the platform, bandaging kids up, and pointing them towards the carriages.” She let out a little laugh when the girl got on the kid next to her. “Hes fine, just making sure I don’t sleep through the food, right?” she said to the boy. Oh, food, the Headmistress really needed to give her speech already so they could eat.
As the young boy introduced himself, Em gave him her first real grin since the lights flickering. “Welcome to Hufflepuff Noah. I’m Emmaleigh, and Were totally the best house.” He was new right? He looked little enough to be a firstie, but most of the second years were that small too. And seeing as she wasn’t here the year before, there was no way of knowing.
Looking back across the table she asked the little lion. “So where did the rest of you guys get sorted?” You know, since they had all been sorted before she had arrived. “The luggage usually gets taken to the dorms during the feast. I don’t know who normally does it, but it gets done. I’m not sure whats going to happen this year. It might take until morning for it to show up. Don’t worry though, I’m sure the animals will be the first to make it back.” Hopefully. Though, Em expected Halt to show up soon, he was a smart little thing.
