The Badgers, reigning House Cup and Gobstones Tournament champions, sit under a bright black and gold banner representing their house. The candles light it up nicely in spite of the gloomy, turbulent skies above.
Damon walked up to his old table with a small smile, it did feel good to be back. He down at Alexa and Max and smiled, Another Puff, huh? He say down a few seats down from them though waiting for Taylor.
Tay spotted Damon and wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing his cheek, "Hey handsome."

Oh dear. Sadface. The girl was trying to hide her wrist. "Let me look at it?" She had no medical experience, and therefore wouldn't provide a great idea, but still. She wanted to see if it would need to be chopped off.
She held her hand out for the girls wrist, and watched her inquisitively. "It doesn't matter. My bottom hurts, and I only landed on that. Some girl broke her leg, and I bet someone died or something. Let me see it.." Ha, Elodie was pretending to be all knowing. When really, she knew nothing about healing. Smiling at her new accompanient, Els nodded. "That's pretty. Elodie." Just incase she wanted to know her equally, if not more, pretty name.
Lex shook her head with a little giggle. "Nah, Daddy already had me tested, they say I have 20/20 vision...I just need a longer attention span is all." She shrugged just a bit. Really it was so hard to look where you were going when you were too busy fixating on other things and your mind kept bouncing from place to place. So much to see...even more to do and only two eyes to take it all in.
Her eyes widened slightly when the girl asked to see her wrist. "Uhh...sure...but like I said...it's fine." She said, reluctantly bringing her hand around again.
She placed it in the girls outstretched hand. There was a little shock on her face when she noticed the slight discolouration of the area around her wrist. When did that happen? Not wanting to draw attention to this, hoping the girl was oblivious to most things, she looked her straight in the eyes and tried holding her gaze. Keeping it away from there. Elodie...it was a nice name. "Wow, I didn't know so many people had gotten hurt! See my wrist is nothing compared to what happened to the--someone died?!?!?!?!"
O______O
But wasn't the first rule of the school, 'don't die'?

And from the corner of her eyes she caught another boy looking at her...or maybe not looking at her...either way it was time she started talking to him too. How else would she make friends?
"Hi there!" And of course he got a smile too. "How was your trip here?" Everyone seemed to have a different story with some landed perfectly and others not being as lucky. She had passed a few grumblers and even a few swearing that they would never use portkeys again. "I'm Alexa."
Ah!
The voice snapped him out of his head. The girl was smiling a him, so at least she didn't find him weird for accidentally staring.
"H-Hey! I'm Dorian. Spark. Sorry for staring, I didn't mean to it's all so- I'm just really excited to start!" He mentally scolded himself for still fumbling over his words.
"But yeah, I'm fine- well I have a small scratch, but I'm sure it'll be okay." He held up his palm showing a barely noticeable graze. "What about- I mean, are you fine? Portkeys aren't that fun is all- I got lucky. I don't know how to fix things, but you can always complain to me- not that you're complaining-- " He rushed out the last part and gave a small smile hoping she wouldn't take it the wrong way.

Laura walked upto Carigan and sat down next too her. "Carigan, I lost you after the train ride where did you go?" Okay so it probably was her fault but well she was going to blame Carigan anyway. "I looked for you but I couldn't see you anyway." Laura sighed.
Oakey sat down beside his girlfriend. He still wasn't with what she had done, but after that whole train incident he was worried about her and was glad to see that she was fine. "Laura" Oakey said as he scooted himself into the table. He didn't make eye contact with her "I'm glad you're okay."

Sitting directly across from him was his roommate Jory, He gave him a small smile. "Hey Jory. How was your summer?". Hopefully it was just as eventful as his. Oakey didn't want to go into full detail about his just yet, not with Laura beside him.

He had only sat down for a moment and the girl he offered to hold his cat was already spreading insane rumors to first years!"Whoa!" Oakey quickly interjected waving his hands in front of the girls to cease them from continuing the conversation. "No one died!" at least he had hoped not, Renesmee's Pygmy Puff certainly wasn't dead."I'm sure everyone got off the Train with only some injuries."

Lex giggled when the boy began babbling on. Yup; he was definitely another firstie. Most of them seemed to babble when she started talking to them quite suddenly and without prior warning though she could never understand why. Didn't they expect someone to talk to them sooner or later? She was just speeding up the process because she was an impatient one.
Dorian. She would make a mental note of that so she wouldn't forget; not that she was one to forget a name...
Her face lit up a bit when the boy admitted that he was just excited to start. "I knoooow! I can't wait either but they're taking so long with the whole speech thingy and I couldn't sit down anymore!" Yup and that was why she was going around the various tables trying to make friends or find something to do, whichever came first.
A scratch? "So then...you got out of it nearly unharmed? That's so cool! I landed badly on my wrist, trying to cushion Felix's fall. I'm just glad he didn't get hurt or anything because then it would have been a total waste of a good wrist." The creature was building up a debt that she intended to collect. Complaining though? But she wasn't...complaining. "I'm afraid I don't follow." She said, tilting her head slightly.

Then she heard a boy interjecting into the conversation. Looking over she saw that it was the same boy she had seen practically storming out of the compartment that had the stupid, crying girl in it.
Wait! "So then...no one died...?" Well which one of them was telling the truth?! Ugh, she hated when older kids thought it would have been fun to mess with the firsties...it was for that same reason why she had gotten in trouble with the Headmistress while still being on the train!

Thirteen year old Sutton Rose Josephine Piatek silently made her way to the Hufflepuff table. This, it seemed, was where she should belong, but Sutton doubted that was true. The second youngest of five girls, Sutton had never fit in much of anywhere, not at home, not at her public muggle school, but perhaps this was where she would finally fit in.
No, Sutton sadly told herself, you shouldn't get your hopes up. You know better.
After two years of homeschooling and begging her parents to let her go to a school with other witches and wizards her age, here she finally was. Timidly, she smiled around at her fellow... Hufflepuffs.
What an odd word... she pondered to herself as she quietly put some roasted chicken on her plate and poured a glass of a strange, orange-colored juice.

Annabelle was walking into the great hall. Her prefect badge was gleaming and she new it was going to be an excellent year. She made her way to the table and sat near the middle because the front of the table looked like it was getting full. She was waiting for the first years to come and see their bright, happy, smiling faces. Belle was looking at the front table and noticed some of her fellow teachers from last year was sitting at their places. She was happy to be back and make new friends this year.

When Sutton noticed a girl who looked to be a few years older standing near the table, she scooted over a bit to make room for her. Looking up at her, she noticed a badge on the girl's robes but couldn't begin to imagine what it might mean except that she was obviously someone important. Feeling the familiar sense of social anxiety welling up inside, Sutton just stared up at her seemingly incapable of speaking to offer her the seat. Instead, she awkwardly turned back to the table, perhaps too quickly, and sent her silverware clattering to the ground.

Annabelle looked over and heard the silverware clutter to the ground. Belle smiled and knew she must be nervous to talk to her. The badge did seem intimidating. Belle picked up his silverware and tapped the poor girl on the shoulder, "Hi, excuse me, i think you dropped your silverware." she said kindly with a charming smile. "I am Annabelle btw. I am sixth year. What year are you in and what is your name?" she asked. She hoped she didn't make the girl feel awkward, that was the last thing she wanted to do.

Tucking her hair behind her ear, Sutton dropped to the floor to retrieve her silverware, but it was nowhere in sight. Sitting back up, her eyes glanced at the table noticing that a new, clean set had already appeared, then her eyes shifted to the older girl who was holding her dropped silverware. As the older girl introduced herself, Sutton stretched out a hand to shake hers politely. Manners were almost as important to her family as beauty.
"Pleased to meet you," Sutton said pleasantly. "And I am in... third year, or at least this is the third year I've been studying magic." With a small shrug, she explained simply, "Homeschooled." Hopefully, that wouldn't make her less able to handle her classes, but that was a worry for a different day...
Bliss waited patiently until the girl turned and looked at her. When she did, Bliss grinned at her. "You're welcome," she said, happy that she'd gotten over her nerves and decided to talk to people. "Nice to meet you, Harlan. I'm Bliss," she told Harlan. Harlan..what a cool name! Bliss took the chance to take a few bites of food as well before Harlan spoke again. "I'm in Second Year," she told the older girl. "What about you?"
Harlan ate some of her food as the other girl introduced herself as Bliss. That was a super pretty name, thought Harlan. She beamed at the girl. 'That's a super nice name, Bliss.' She nodded madly.
Oh. A Second year. No Fourth years so far.. She pouted her lips, it would be awesome if there was a Fourth year or something.. she needed same-age friends too, right?! 'I'm going to be a Fourth year.. Have you been here since First year?' Everyone would have friends already.. But so long as Logan and Mason would be in the same house Harlan would be alright..

But she wasn't...complaining. "I'm afraid I don't follow." She said, tilting her head slightly.
"I hope the speech doesn't tale too long. I'm getting hungry." His stomach let out a small growl, confiriming his statement.
He was glad to hear someone else was excited to start. A couple of people he had seen had looked rather sad or nervous- though, the less than pleasant portkey ride and the hub-bub on the train earlier probably had something to do with that.
"I landed on my backside, so it wasn't too bad. I'm so glad Pudge, my toad, is okay- I completely forgot about him during the portkey. I hope your wrist isn't too serious! That'd be a terrible way to start school!" Conversation seemed to come easier, knowing that Alexa seemed friendly enough towards him. He was terrible with names but he thought to write 'Alexa: friendly first year from the feast' in his planner- the one he all but slept with.
"Sorry, I'm a bit all over the place. I just mean, if you ever need an ear to talk to, mines open- well, not open- I'm here."
Elijah entered the vast great hall, a smile on his face as he took in the scent of the castle and realised that he was definitely back at his favourite place on Earth. Except for the classes. Classes were laaaameeee.
He walked down the middle of the tables, happy to see the new selection of Huffie first years that they had been given. Elijah made his way to the nearest empty seat and then stood on it, so that he was leering over the table full of Huffies.
"CAN I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE, PUFFERS!!!"
Clearing his throat he continued, "I know what you all are thinking. Who is this amazingly handsome chap addressing me? Well, my name is Elijah Wilde! I am THEE Hufflepuff to come to if you are wanting advice and tips on how to survive Hogwarts. I specialise in looking gorgeous and how to get girls... I can help the ladies with their boy troubles too," he added so as not to steer away too much business, "WELCOME TO HUFFLEPUFF!"
There. Now that that was over with he could take his seat and wait for the Headmistress to make her inferior school-wide speech. At this moment in time he just wanted food.

Hearing the growling sound only confirmed that the boy was in fact hungry. Her stomach had been doing a milder version of that growling and grumbling thankfully and well she had some candy left over so if things got too sticky she would sit and munch on them while she pretended to listen to the speeches.
Let's face it, even in all her dedication she wouldn't have been able to pay attention for more than a few minutes tops so she wouldn't lie to herself. During the speech she would be thoroughly occupied with other things.
"Oh so you landed on your butt too?!" It seemed that was the most popular way of landing! There were so many that had similar complaints. Oh her? She subtly shifted the hand with her hurt wrist away from the boy. "Um, me? No, I'm fine. I don't have anything serious either." How bad could it have been? So what if it was changing colour, that was probably happening to everyone else too and she didn't feel like missing this feast and chance to socialize just to go looking for the healer. That could wait until sometime later on in the term.
Just then she saw a boy climb onto one of the chairs and begin his own little mini speech. She raised an eyebrow at him when she realized all that he had been saying. "Ew, why would we have boy troubles?" Yeah so she wasn't a puff...but that didn't mean that she didn't have any questions about his little speech, "And other than those unimportant stuff what else are you good at?'

There. Now that that was over with he could take his seat and wait for the Headmistress to make her inferior school-wide speech. At this moment in time he just wanted food.
"No, no one has died and no one w..." befor Oakey could finish his little talk with the first year Gryffindor girl. The Maniac made his presence known, smacking his palm to his face, Oakey couldn't let his huffie first years fall victim to Elijah's lies.
So he stood up onto his chair as well and faced the Maniac. "DO NOT BE FOOLED!" Oakey said jabbing his finger in the direction of Elijah. "He may wish to help you, but the next thing you know he's burning your boots in mid-air!
He had heard from a little Lochness that he was trying to pass off as Lewis, so if this was another one of his little schemes. Oakey would stop it here and now. "Don't listen to the DoDo Brain!"
So the speech thingy hadn't started yet and her legs were started to get cramped from all the seating she had been doing. Pssh, then they wanted her to sit and wait for the fiery red-head woman to give some sort of speech....no. She had done enough sitting in the train and on the boat ride here and on that stupid stool with some hat on her head that wasn't as smart as people said it was.
She didn't know why she was walking around at the puff table but she figured she would make her rounds around them all in search of her friends.
Walking down the table her hand knocked into the back or whatever it was of some other girl. She sucked in a deep breath and clutched her wrist immediately; it hadn't stopped hurting and she had just made it worse...but then she remembered she probably should have said sorry to the other girl as well. "Sorry about that." She said before letting out that big breath. Merlin it hurt!
Then just down the table, looking like a poor soul, she saw a boy. He looked close to tears or well just plain miserable.
Usually this wouldn't have even registered to her and honestly she wasn't so sure she cared why he was sad but he was sitting alone and with a feast like this no one should have done tha.
"Hey, what's eatin' you?" She asked the boy. "Well be getting the food soon I suspect so there's no need for tears." Unless that wasn't the problem in which case..."Or is something else bugging you?"
Nate saw someone walk over to him, and ask him a question. As a reply he simply just said "I don't wanna talk about it right now." Because it was true. he was in no mood to be talking about what had happened only a few minutes ago. He then sighed. Now Nate had an enemy at Hogwarts. That was the president's daughter. He would make her look bad that she would have to apoligize, or else he'd keep making her look bad. Nate then started to think of ways to get revenge.

Elijah blinked as the girl asked her question. He blinked because he thought the answer was completely obvious. "Sweetie. You are a Gryffindor, you'll have boy problems by default," he patted her on the head, "But don't worry. I'm not houseist. I'll help you out too, if you like."

Guh. Of course. OAKEY. He would have to make a spectacle of Elijah's own spectacle. Clearing his throat once more, he made sure to inform the table, "THIS BOY EATS BABY PYGMY PUFFS. HIS WORDS ARE AUTOMATICALLY NULL AND VOID."

She raised an eyebrow at him when he patted her on the head. She wasn't quite following..."Soo....because I'm a Gryffindor...I'll have boy problems...?" That made no sense!!!!! "And I don't think I'll need your help because boys are gross so I won't be getting tangled with any of them any time soon." She said before stubbornly folded her arms at him. WHAAAA?!
Why was everyone climbing onto the chairs?!?! Hmm...
Climbs.
There now she was standing on one too but she couldn't see what the appeal was. She looked from the boy who had first spoken then over to the one that was now pointing an accusing finger at him. So then...they weren't supposed to listen to him?
Why was everything so controversial here?! Why was it that everytime someone said something someone else was always there to disprove it or something. "Wait so he'd burn my shoes?!" She asked in shock, looking from him to Elijah once more. "And do you really eat baby pygmy puffs...?"
What was wrong with these people...?

"Hmm, you sure about that? She said with wider smile. It was all true. She didn't know him very well so she would be more inclined to take his side than the side of whatever had gotten him so upset. "So what'd ya say? You sure you don't wanna talk about it?" The boy didn't realize this but this was one of those rare times when Alexa cared about anyone outside of herself--which was understandable since the boy seemed close to tears!

How dare he! How dare he accuse him of eating baby pygmy puffs! Oakey was never to fond of them, but he'd never eat them! They probably tasted as awful as they looked!
"He knows nothing of me!" Oakey shouted back. "How could he when his brain is the size of one Prehistoric Duck!"
"D-don't listen to him." Oakey said quickly to the girl "and no he eat's the pygmy puffs" Oakey placed his hands on her shoulders. "sit back down, this is between him and me."
If he was going to throw lies around the table about Oakey's eating habits, then Oakey will give them some about Elijah as well! "This MAN has been known to enjoy DRESSING as a DEMENTOR and scaring first years into peeing their PANTS!" Oakey laid his eyes on Elijah and gave him an evil smirk! "AGAIN I SAY! DO NOT LISTEN TO HIS LIES!"
