The Badgers, reigning House Cup and Gobstones Tournament champions, sit under a bright black and gold banner representing their house. The candles light it up nicely in spite of the gloomy, turbulent skies above.
Carigan walked into the great hall. For some reason she was one of the first Hufflepuffs at the table, she saw a few others at the table but nobody she really knew. She slid herself onto a bench on the side of the table and looked around as people filed into the hall. She was looking for familiar faces. Laura, Sophie, Ella... Nate...
Laura walked into the Great Hall, she was suprised to see she was one of the first Hufflepuffs into the Great Hall which was a change because she was normally the last one, she looked around to see if Ella had come in yet but couldn't see her, so she was about to sit down on her own when she saw Carigan.
Laura walked upto Carigan and sat down next too her. "Carigan, I lost you after the train ride where did you go?" Okay so it probably was her fault but well she was going to blame Carigan anyway. "I looked for you but I couldn't see you anyway." Laura sighed.

As Jory arrived at the Hufflepuff table, he noticed only two other students there. He supposed the others had almost reached. "Hey, there,'' he greeted the girls though he didn't know them except by sight.
He looked around at the other tables hoping to see some familiar faces but there were not many students there as yet. Jory waited patiently for the Sorting Ceremony. He hoped some hardworking Hufflepuffs would join the House this year. They did have the House and Gobstone Cups to defend after all.

Alexa was glad that being older she was able to get sorted a little quicker. Hufflepuff.. well at least she knew that older boy that she met on the train. Sitting at the end of the table where no one was she looked around the hall. Was Hufflepuff the odd group or something, it didn't seem like anyone was at the table, maybe they were not a cool group. This thought made Alexa fidget a bit, she was already so awkward and felt weird not knowing many people, this seemed like it was going to be a long year at this point.
Will stepped into the Great Hall. It had been over a year since he had been in the castle and everything was still exactly as he remembered. He looked around the room at all of the tables full of the older students and the hoard of first years being sorted. They were so small compared to himself. He glanced at each of the tables, lingering on Ravenclaw for a second longer than the rest, to see if he recognized anyone. Finally he made his way over to the Hufflepuff table.
So far there weren't many people seated. This was a first that Will was actually on time to something. He took a seat waiting for more people to arrive.
Harlan sat down at the table of her.. new house. She smiled around at the other students, she'd better try being nice right away, she WOULD be spending the next few years with them.. Or however long it would take for her nan to get better.
The girl looked around, hoping to find Mason or maybe Logan. They had to be in the same house as her, or else she'd have no one at all! She let out a sigh and told herself to calm down. It wasn't like her to freak out about... this kind of stuff, even if she wasn't used to it.
Harlan was nice, or so she thought, so people would have to like her..
Yes, they would. Harlan smiled to herself and took a sip of.. whatever she had. It tasted gooddddd. Nan had been right about yummy stuff at Hogwarts anyway.

Bliss was sat down watching all of the sorting and nibbling on bits of food that were already in front of her. This was the start of a great year, she could tell. Yeah, it didn't matter that she'd broken her wrist and that it was still broken. Didn't matter at all. All that mattered was that she was at Hogwarts and had friends and was bound to make more. In fact, why not start now? Bliss turned slightly in her seat, her gaze falling upon a girl who looked awfully worried, yet in awe. Bliss tapped the girl's arm slightly. "Hello! Welcome to Hufflepuff!" She said, knowing that the girl was a new a addition to the badgers, having seen her being sorted.

Fee was wandering again. Like every year she would just sit down at one of the house tables to get to know people.Sitting at the Slytherin table all the time would get boring for her. She loved her fellow Snakes but sometimes getting to know people of other houses was really exciting and funny. So the blonde decided to pick the Huffies table and plopped down on a free spot. Mhhhhh...what would she eat later?Noddles or Pizza? Or both? Why did the speech take so long again? That was pure torture, one thing she wouldnt miss about Hogwarts. Or would she?!
Looking around the girl came across two young looking girls faces, aww. They looked quite friendly, and badgers were known for being the friendly ones. Smiling to herself as one of them welcomed the newly sorted girl the seventh year decided to join them. "Welcome to Hogwarts", she beamed at the new girl," i bet you will have loads of fun as Hufflepuff. Beaming at the other girl she nodded and winked at her. Maybe now was time for a little conversation with the younger ones. Aww.

This year was definitely going to be about making friends for her. She wanted to make lots and lots, she thought, still looking towards the brown haired girl next to her. And then she heard movement next to her and felt someone sit down on the other side of her. It was a girl with blonde hair and she was a..Slytherin. She didn't know that you could sit on any table. Seen as Bliss was half-staring half-gaping at the girl, she decided to introduce herself. "Hey, I'm Bliss," she said and smiled widely.

The Slytherin couldnt help but giggle a bit as she noticed the younger one next to her stared, even gaped at her. How cute, she probably had never seen a Slytherin sitting next to her. Yep, the things Hogwarts would miss out on when Fee was gone. What a shaaaame. "Hey Bliss", the snake beamed, "i am Fee." Over the years the girl got used to only telling people her nickname, no one besides her parents and the professors called her Feenella anyway."Tell me Bliss, what year are you in?", she asked smiling. Bliss seemed to be young, 12 or 13 maybe. Thinking about the time when Fee herself was that young a smile crept on to her face. All the stuff she had one with her friends. All the trouble she had got in with Anakin.

Maxwell walked over to the Puff table, he wanted to check on Alexa and congratulate her on making Hufflepuff. He walked up behind her and tapped on her shoulder. "Hey." He said with a smile, the small cut on his lip from their portkey ride, stinging as he did.

Elodie didn't want food.
She wanted to just go to bed, pull out her teddy and blanket, curl down under some covers and sleep. She, of course, wouldn't go on her own. And she knew she needed to have something to eat seeing as she hadn't eaten since she left home very early that morning.
But really, could they get the feast over and done with?

Alice wobbled into Great Hall on her splint. She had been given a pair of crutches to walk on until she could visit the Healer. She didn't really care if she had come into the Feast looking really awkward— on crutches, with a large fiberglass splint. She had adjusted to them very quickly; it wasn't that hard to walk on them. As soon as she entered the Hall, she headed for the Hufflepuff Table. Most of her friends would be there, yeah? She hadn't seen Alec since she had been dragged away from him. She hadn't even met Ella on the train, but Alec had told her that she was okay. And she hadn't seen Messer since summer! Lord. He was probably being ambushed by firsties or something.
The lioness made her way over to the Hufflepuffs unstably. This fiberglass split was still a bit heavy for her, it seemed to be throwing her off balance. Why couldn't she just break.. like.. an arm instead? Why did it have to be her leg?

After the carriage ride Nate went over to an empty spot at his house table. He was sitting where no one else was, because of what happened at the platform. Looks like Nate can't play quidditch now because of his arm. He was about to burst out in tears, but Nate wouldn't allow himself to do that. Come on Nate! Suck it up! Who cares if she said you faked even though you didn't You're a teen now! He thought to himself trying to hold in the tears.

Harlan was staring out into the really big Hall when some girl tapped her on her arm. She looked up and smiled, glad to be welcomed into this house. 'Hi..' She took a sip of her juice before introducing herself. 'Thanks. I'm Harlan..'
So far, so good. Harlan smiled and helped herself to some food that had been placed in the middle of the table. After taking a few bites, Harlan turned to the girl next to her again. 'What year are you in..?'
SPOILER!!: Fee

Just as she had introduced herself to the younger girl, another girl welcomed her to Hogwarts. Harlan smiled, this was getting better by the second. There were PLENTY of nice girls it seemed. Not silly ones like at her Muggle school
She seemed way older than her or the other girl though.. Harlan figured she must be at least a sixth year or something.
'Thank you, I'll try at least.' Harlan grinned and extended her hand to the girl. 'I'm Harlan Isaacs.' She frowned for a second. 'Are you a Hufflepuff too..?'
Because her clothes seemed a lot fancier than the robes Harlan was wearing, what if there was a house that required fancy clothes all the time and Harlan had been put into the wrong house?!

So the speech thingy hadn't started yet and her legs were started to get cramped from all the seating she had been doing. Pssh, then they wanted her to sit and wait for the fiery red-head woman to give some sort of speech....no. She had done enough sitting in the train and on the boat ride here and on that stupid stool with some hat on her head that wasn't as smart as people said it was.
She didn't know why she was walking around at the puff table but she figured she would make her rounds around them all in search of her friends.
Walking down the table her hand knocked into the back or whatever it was of some other girl. She sucked in a deep breath and clutched her wrist immediately; it hadn't stopped hurting and she had just made it worse...but then she remembered she probably should have said sorry to the other girl as well. "Sorry about that." She said before letting out that big breath. Merlin it hurt!

Then just down the table, looking like a poor soul, she saw a boy. He looked close to tears or well just plain miserable.
Usually this wouldn't have even registered to her and honestly she wasn't so sure she cared why he was sad but he was sitting alone and with a feast like this no one should have done tha.
"Hey, what's eatin' you?" She asked the boy. "Well be getting the food soon I suspect so there's no need for tears." Unless that wasn't the problem in which case..."Or is something else bugging you?"

Well, she seemed nice enough for a snake. "Hi," she replied and gave a tight smile, still not 100% comfortable. Fee? That was an interesting name, Bliss liked it. "Nice to meet you, Fee," she said and smiled a little more widely at the older girl. "I'm in my Second Year," Bliss told her and thought about the fact that she would a teenager soon. Very soon. "What about you?" She asked, looking at the girl. She appeared to be..Sixth or Seventh Year.

Elodie looked over her shoulder, and pouted. It hadn't hurt he too much, but in reaction to the bump, she'd shifted forward, consequently bugging the bruised bottom she had. [b]"It's okay..."[b] She mumbled, taking in the girl before her.

Simply put, Dorian was chuffed. If there was one thing that could ease his nerves, it was food. He fully expected the table to be filled with all his favourite foods and couldn't wait. He saw a couple of students around him looking pale and contemplated asking if they were alright. He wasn't good with spells or charms, but he could offer an ear to listen. Instead, he sat there watching a kind girl talk to a particularly sad looking boy, hot yet finding the courage to speak up.

Lex was relieved when the girl said that it was alright. In one day she had managed to run into so many touchy people that she didn't know when the next one would appear and yell at her for something that wasn't at all her fault. She offered the girl a little smile to show that she really was sorry. "I have a tendency to not look where I'm going sometimes." She admitted, afterall what did it matter how you got somewhere as long as you got there!
When the girl mentioned her wrist she quickly tried hiding it behind her back but winced as it brushed against her side. Smooth Lex, real smooth.
"Um...no...I don't think there's anything wrong with it, I just landed badly is all but I'm sure it will be fine. " It had better had been fine because she didn't have time to have people making a fuss over something as silly as a hurt wrist. Everyone just seemed really busy and they would probably disregard her again anyway. "I'm Alexa, by the way."

And from the corner of her eyes she caught another boy looking at her...or maybe not looking at her...either way it was time she started talking to him too. How else would she make friends?
"Hi there!" And of course he got a smile too. "How was your trip here?" Everyone seemed to have a different story with some landed perfectly and others not being as lucky. She had passed a few grumblers and even a few swearing that they would never use portkeys again. "I'm Alexa."

Ah, Elodie could understand that. The whole not looking where you were going. She did that. Sometimes. ONLY sometimes. "It's okay. Maybe you should get tested for needing glasses, though." Just a helpful suggestion. It didn't occur to her that it could be taken negatively, because she'd meant it as a help.
Oh dear. Sadface. The girl was trying to hide her wrist. "Let me look at it?" She had no medical experience, and therefore wouldn't provide a great idea, but still. She wanted to see if it would need to be chopped off.
She held her hand out for the girls wrist, and watched her inquisitively. "It doesn't matter. My bottom hurts, and I only landed on that. Some girl broke her leg, and I bet someone died or something. Let me see it.." Ha, Elodie was pretending to be all knowing. When really, she knew nothing about healing. Smiling at her new accompanient, Els nodded. "That's pretty. Elodie." Just incase she wanted to know her equally, if not more, pretty name.

Taking a seat down at one of the tables in the Great Hall, she put her face in her hands. Will had been so enthralled with watching what was going on around the hall and seeing who all comes in that he didn't even realize that someone was sitting across from him. It was a girl that he didn't recognize and she looked confused. From the looks of it Will guessed that she was a transfer like he had been. He always hated the feeling of being somewhere new and not knowing anyone.
He wasn't even sure if she was speaking to him, but he decided to respond anyways. "Gryffindor eh?" He asked. "Its the house that you were sorted into. Apparently you're curageous and chivalrous" He told her. He should have probably added that she was sitting at the wrong table but he didn't want to throw too much at her at once.
Damon walked up to his old table with a small smile, it did feel good to be back. He down at Alexa and Max and smiled, Another Puff, huh? He say down a few seats down from them though waiting for Taylor.
