The History of Magic Classroom was not in its normal state, that was for sure.
As you walk into the classroom the first thing you notice is how squared off the room appears to be. No Scabior in sight, no windows, no desks or chairs, and a large wall blocking off the rest of the class room that had never been there before. In fact, the room was barely big enough to fit everyone standing up.
As you glance around the extremely small room a message appears on the wall across from you.
You will need multiple pieces of parchment and something to write with.
OOC: Class will officially begin sometime tomorrow. Class has started!! Please familiarize yourself with the updated classroom rules. Remember that all SS and RPG rules apply.

O_O The door shut! This WAS a prison! Glancing a quick look at his friends, Theo watched the message that showed up.
LOGIC?
But Theo had very little logic, so he knew automatically that this lesson wouldn't work in his favour. He scrunched his eyebrows together at the first riddle, and tried to get a peek over at Ella's parchment. He didn't immediately know the answer but the silvery part gave him a small hint.
SPOILER!!: Theo's first answer
Unicorns
He popped it into the slot but.... nothing happened. But that made sense to him eventually, because he certainly did not see a Unicorn 'every day'. Scratching his head, it suddenly hit him like a bus! It was in fact describing the ONE thing that Theodore was truly terrified of...
SPOILER!!: Theo's second answer
Ghosts
The beasts.

Louisa gave Vivi a relieved grin when she showed up, and was even more relieved when the blonde explained what she'd do if the walls started closing in. The mere idea gave the Head Girl the shudders though. When she was about to say something, the door they came from shut itself up and vanished.
GUUUUUULP.
The Ravenclaw tried so hard not to pale or turn yellowish, her eyes did bulge out a bit though revealing how surprised and uneasy she was right then. Oh, but look! There was a new message beside the new door. She stared at the riddle for about five seconds and the answer popped up in her head immediately, the last line giving it away. Louisa's hands fumbled with the parchment and the quill, she tried using her knee like Max but she lost her balance quickly. When she looked at Vivi, the girl was giving her a look. Huh. She wasn't challenging her, was she? jfhglfdjkg. Louisa fumbled even more with the parchment and by the time she wrote down her answer using the wall behind her, all her 'claw year mates were already done.
SPOILER!!: Louisa's Answer
Ghosts.
She pushed through the smaller shorter bodies in front of her and slipped the parchment into the mail slot.
As the last student enters the "classroom" the door slams shut and then suddenly disappears! Don't be completely scared however, in front of you- across from the door your entered, a second door appears. This door is slightly different, old and with a mail slot.
Beside the door the old message is suddenly replaced with a new one:
The object of todays lesson to to make it out of the classroom through use of your logic. You will go through a number of different rooms, each with their own riddles. The answer to each riddle should be placed on a piece of paper and pushed through the mail slot. If your answer is right then you will be allowed entry to the next room. If your answer is wrong, you will be deflected back into your current room, in other words you continue trying. The first person to the last room is excused from homework. Do not share your answers. Any person who shares an answer will be stuck in the room until the first person reaches the last room. If any serious problems occur knock hard on the wall behind you three times.
Enjoy.

Riddle 1:
We are not wizards.
We are not witches.
We are all magical beings.
At first when you see us,
You may have thoughts of fleeing.
And if you feel the need to touch us for a bit of thrill,
You will find yourself overcome with a little chill.
We all look different from each other,
Yet have a silvery glow.
What are we exactly?
You see us every day, you really ought to know.
OOC: The first person to reach the last room will also receive maximum points from the homework they were excused from. Place your answers in spoilers and NO CHEATING GUYS! I will post next to tell you if you are right or wrong, and if you are right I will give you the next riddle and it will continue on like that. Any questions just VM or PM me!
Sarah LOVED riddles, it took her under a minute to solve the riddle. After the first two lines she thought it was an elf or goblin, yet upon reading the next line she realized that one does not flee from an elf or goblin nowadays and they are not silvery and although she goes into the kjitchen often she does not see house elves everyday... that meant...

Eliza was pretty intrigued by this style of teaching and wasn't too freaked out by the smallness of the room - the professor would keep them safe after all, but if she was going to be smushed up on people, it would be by her friends if she could help it. She wiggled her way through to Cora, so that some older, bigger person wouldn't trample them both. She shot the first year boy a glare that told him he'd better watch it and not sass her friend again. Cora had apologized for bumping into him so there was no excuse for him to be rude. She kept her eye on him while she wrote her answer to the first riddle.

Pao jumped. "What was that?" Then he noticed that the door was closed. Or, rather, had completely vanished. They were locked in. I don't like this... he thought, a chill running down his spine.
He quickly read through the message that appeared within his gaze. Riddles? That's... different. He wasn't altogether sure what it had to do with history, either, but he trusted the professor to tie it in somehow.
Well, it seemed the only way out of this prison classroom was through the riddle door. Though there was hardly any room, he sat cross-legged on the ground. This was the posture in which he did his best thinking.
SPOILER!!: Pao's reasoning
Magical beings.. Okay, so like Merpeople or something? But they didn't exactly fit the next 'thoughts of fleeing' bit. Chill... That could be dementors. And they fit the fleeing part! Except he couldn't honestly say that they all looked different from each other. So what else would be cold to touch and perhaps unnerving? He closed his eyes, tongue sticking out slightly from his mouth in concentration. Something undead like a vampire or zombie or... A ghost!
He opened his eyes and scanned the riddle once more. Yes, yes, yes.. Everything fits! He whipped out a piece of parchment and tore it into quarters. No need to waste an entire sheet for one word, right? He dug out his ink and quill and scribbled 'GHOSTS' on the paper. Then he replaced everything into his bag and hefted it onto his shoulder.
He approached the door cautiously. For some reason it scared him. It was clearly magical and he wasn't sure what all it was capable of. He carefully fed his paper through the slot and waited for something to happen.

Cassia hadn't opened her mouth since she got into this creep small room. Why weren't they in class again? And where was professor Scabior. The other and older student weren't making it any easier. If the older folks were confused ,what should she feel! But she kept telling herself that it was a lesson and they were here to learn so everything is planned. Ignoring all the unplanned ,weird things that were happening around the castle. Remembering them won't be good.
And then when the door closed she swallowed hard. What they were trapped now. Then a note appears. Cassia stood on her tiptoes to read what was written as she wasn't a tall person. Riddles? Uh-oh...She wasn't so good at those. They required smartness and thinking hard and such things that belonged to the Ravvies. Well, not only them but they must must be excelled at them. Anyway ,she wasn't going to stay here doing nothing and get trapped in here. She would try.
Reading the riddle over and over again. Cassia paused at each line. Having different ideas and thoughts. Not wizards..not witches... Elves? But no one would flee from elves. Well, some would but out of despise not fear.
Then shrill....thrill...glow... Cassia felt that deep in her mind she knew the answer. Like it was so clear but she couldn't find the words.
But when reading that they are seeing them everday. Cassia thought PROFESSORS. But nah..they weren't supposed to be whitches and wizards. Wait...Something came across her mind. Her firstand only mission with Theo. They were trying to know why ghosts were making so many appearances.
Cassia grinned at her own self and reach for a note and scribbles down the answer. That should be it. No?
SPOILER!!: Cassia's answer
Ghosts

Daichi turned his head from where he was seated against the wall towards the door. Hearing the door shut close, he thought that the Professor would walk in to start the class but as he looked better he noticed that there was no door! The door was gone!
Wait, was this a joke? Did the Professor thought it was funny to lock them all up? But just as he thought he felt something changing behind him. With a startle, Daichi quickly jumped up from the ground when he felt the wall behind him shift. There was a door now and it seemed to be locked.
Then something else got his attention when the old message from earlier got replaced with something else. It was a good thing he was pretty tall for his age so he could look over a few student's heads to read the message in the small room. A riddle? So if they got the riddle right they could enter the next room?
But...he was bad at these riddle things?! He could answer the easy riddles but he was sure that the further he got, the more difficult the riddles would get! And what if he failed and would be the only person left in this room? Okay, he should just..uhm...try...
Daichi began to read the riddle with an utmost concentration on his features. Not wizards and witches? muggles perhaps? No that couldn't be it because the next line said it was magical. He continued to read. Fleeing...he would flee for fire but he didn't think that that would be the answer. Oh wait a second, Chill! silvery glow....With a sudden twinkle in his eyes , the Slytherin thought he knew the answer.
He quickly ripped off a piece of paper out of his note book and pressed it against a nearby wall, looking around him to see if anyone was trying to look at his answer he wrote it down.
SPOILER!!: answer
Ghosts
Now he should push the paper through the mail slot right? Daichi walked to the door and waited until the student in front of him was done giving the answer and pushed his own piece of paper through the slot.

Alex looked at the young boy that he'd just run in to and wrinkled his eyebrows. "Why would I be teaching?" he asked. He barely finished the sentence, however, when suddenly the door SLAMMED shut. He gasped and looked around--OHMYMERLIN they were trapped!!
Scabior was a twisted fellow, Alex concluded. He looked at the message on the board and quickly read through the riddle. He knew the answer, he was sure, so he quickly wrote it down. He didn't care about finishing first, he just wanted to get out of this creepy booby trap.
SPOILER!!: Alex's answer
A ghost of course!
He shoved his folded parchment in to the slot and waited. Please please pleaseeee be correct!

Her mind was trying to wrap around the fact that the door they had entered through had just disappeared. Everyone had noticed this, yeah? But then she saw the new message that appeared...
Blink.Blink. WHAT? So they were stuck until they figured out the riddles? Meep. Ella turned to Theoman and shrugged. "At least we're not being put in jail..." Bright side? Not really but still.
The third year removed several pieces of parchment from her bag, then her quill. She then thought about the riddle that was given. What magical creatures could be seen as scary, were cold, and silvery? Her first thought was the enchanted armor but she knew that was quite silly, as not everyone found them scary and they didn't exactly glow. With that she went with her second guess, writing it down.

Taking a deep breath, she re-read her answer and then folded her parchment. She then placed it through the slot. Now to wait for something to happen...

When the door slammed shut near him, he jumped and stood up straighter, no longer leaning against the wall. He eyed those nearby who had more frightened reactions to the slam, then turned his gaze to the new door that had appeared. He took a long moment to read over the message twice.
Oh.
That was easy enough, wasn't it?
Max felt like Ravenclaws had a little bit of an advantage here, since they had to answer some kind of riddle every time they wanted to enter the common room. And the older kids had an advantage - which was, of course, fantastic because it was quite likely that he or the three Ravenclaw seventh years near him would win the exemption from homework.
Quickly pulling a piece of parchment from the bag over his shoulder, Max removed a self-inking quill along with it. He turned his gaze back to the riddle, read it quickly for just a moment, then scribbled on his parchment, using his knee as a table. Easy enough.

Now he had to hope it was the right answer.

As you slip your parchment through the mail slot the door glows. Enter now if you want to win it all! Or stay where you are. Whatever you want to do.
OOC EDIT: You are still suppose to answer if I haven't told you to go through yet. I will continue to reply to everyone in all the rooms. No one is "too late"

Enjoy.

Sierra grew wide-eyed when the door to the classroom disappeared. Whaa...but...but...?! She was about to consider panicking when a second door appeared, and then the goal of the class suddenly became clear. A riddle to solve? Cool! This could be interested. Verrrry interested.
Sierra grinned to herself as she sat back and read over the riddle. Hmm. Maybe she just read it too fast or something, because...everyone else seemed to be writing, and she was just...well, lost. Her eyebrows furrowed inward as she read the riddle again.
Magical beings...thoughts of fleeing? A Nundu? ...
No. They didn't see Nundus everyday, and Sierra didn't think they were Silver. A chill... OH! Sierra quickly picked up her quill and scribbled down the answer. Or, what she thought was the answer...
"OIII!" Aidan shouted. AGAIN. And whipped around in another direction to GLARE at another person.
"Well, Cora, you ought to be more careful." HMPH. You would think she would. Cause she was a GIRL. And girls were SUPPOSED to be careful. AND her name started with a "C", just like "careful" did.
BUT HMPH.
Cora was startled by how rude the boy was. He seemed nicer before he started talking. Either way, Cora was interrupted when the professor began. So Cora just shrugged and moved on.

Cora smiled as Eliza moved towards her, happy to see her friend once again after quite some time. Focusing on the question, Cora found it rather obvious, and so wrote on the parchment. She was a bit delayed since she was distracted by those around her.
One of the last ones to finish apparently, she wrote on parchment.

Hannah jumped when all of a sudden the door slammed closed. She had been on high alert ever since she was attacked in the greenhouse working on a project for professor Bentley. She blinked a few times when she saw that the previous message on the door was replaced with a new one. They were going to get out of here using logic? Gulp.
Hannah was not good with puzzle type things. She found them quite boring actually. She read the first one and sighed in relief. This one was easy at least.
Nate examined the riddle very curiosly. He thought about it. They were magical beings, that we see everyday. That would know out ..., ..., and other things. Lets see we see ... and ... everyday. Since ... don't glow that leaves only one choice. Nate carefully dipped his quill into his ink well, making sure to steady his hand. If he messed up even one bit it might make him stuck here. So he carefully wrote on the parchment. He got up, took a deep breath, gathered his nerves, and walked over to the slot.

SPOILER!!: Nate's answer

Finally he slid it in.....waiting for something to happen.

They were waiting for Scabior to make an appearance but what they got was a slammed door and another appearing, the message that had been left changing to describe what was going on. They were to go through a maze of sorts using and solving riddles to get to the next place they had to be. Certainly an interesting approach if not a new one. Hadn't they done that once or twice for a schoolwide challange?
Nevertheless, Gideon was ready to take it up. He just hoped they weren't in for any of the professor's usual behavior that tended to lean toward the harsh. he read through the riddle a couple of times before quietly mussing over it in his head. They had been told not to share after all.
Magical beings....cold...scary at times.
OF COURSE! The very same creatures who had been causing havoc this term.
Gideon tore a piece of paper from his parchment and scribbled down his answer. He then moved the best he could in the crowd and slipped his answer in the slot. There, now all he had to do was wait until he was given a response.
As the last student enters the "classroom" the door slams shut and then suddenly disappears! Don't be completely scared however, in front of you- across from the door your entered, a second door appears. This door is slightly different, old and with a mail slot.

Taylor sighed reading the question. Really? That is really easy... She frowned then wrote the answer, sliding it into the slot.

Milton was about to talk to Anya again, but suddenly the classroom slammed shut and he jumped a tiny bit. Well, okay then. Milton peered over the heads of his classmates and watched the door disappear just to be replaced by a new one. So they had to solve a riddle? That was easy. Ravenclaws had to solve riddles all the time to get into their common rooms.
After reading the riddle once over, Milton had the answer already. He scribbled down his answer on the parchment, pushed his way through the crowd and slipped his answer in through the mail slot.
The door! it just...closed! She shot Hannah a fearful look and then...ah..the words...and a smirk crept across her face...well....this should be VERY interesting. Ravenclaws already had to answer riddles to get into their common room! EVERY Ravenclaw should be able to do this! *eyes them all*
So she read the riddle a few times to herself..she didn't much care about being first...more about being right the first time..better not to rush, no? She yeaaah, she was trying to be ABSOLUTELY sure...but then she..realized that this riddle wasn't too hard, actually.
It was actually really obvious after the line about the chill...and just it all FIT! Elliot smirked to herself as she wrote the answer down, quite aware that she may not have been first..but...she didn't care? Hehehe.
SPOILER!!: Answerrr!

That was...weird.
But Penelope wasn't going to complain. They didn't really have to deal with the professor today it seemed, so this might just become her favorite lesson. Still not her favorite subject, but at least this lesson should be somewhat cool.
Now...for the riddle. All magical beings...thoughts of fleeing...a little chill...look different...a silvery glow...you see us every day. What in Merlin's name did she see every day that fit that?
She bit her lower lip as she thought, running through random things she usually saw throughout a typical day until...
...Hm. That might be it.
The Gryffindor pulled out a piece of parchment and pencil and quickly wrote down her answer, folded it, and slipped it through the mail slot.
SPOILER!!: Penelope's answer

What.In.Merlin's.Underpants?
The door suddenly closed...and disappeared?! And before any of them could say anything, another door had emerged in front. The ancient touch on it was quite obvious along with the mail slot that came with it.
Clutching the piece of parchment tighter, the Ravenclaw frowned.
More so when the message earlier was replaced with a new one. Silently, she read it. Logic, huh? If they had the correct answer then they can go through the next door, if not, they stick around and figure out the riddle. Okay.
First riddle.
Tilting her head a bit, Beezus narrowed her eyes. Scary creatures? Would send chills when touched? Silvery glow?
Grinning slightly to herself, she quickly scribbled down her answer on the parchment before depositing it into the mail slot.
This was even more frightening than before. Just like the other students Renesmee stood still and waited as she watched a message apear besides where the door had been a few moments ago. She read the message and then went through the a riddle a pout slowly forming on her mouth.
Not a wizard nor a witch, but still magical beings. That narrowed it down quite a fair bit already, seeing as not many magical creatures were considered as beings. The fleeing bit? Definitiley something that was possibly scary then. Wait. Chill? That was what had Nessie combine it all together. Or at least she thought she had it. She pouted a few more minutes making her mind whether she was right or not and then scribbled it down on a piece of paper from her bag.
Creepy. that was the first thought in her mind as the door slammed abruptly. Closed shut! And another door emerged. Ira just stared, and stared some more.. It was History of Magic class, right? With the small room, and no Scabior, it didn't quite feel like it!
But by looks of it, she wasn't the only confused one. Ira had taken out many parchments, inwardly groaning that they were gonna be doing lots of note taking. But apparently not. Ira's eyes grew wide, on reading the new message that had appeared with the new door. Make it out of classroom? That was today's lesson? And riddles?
Riddles were meant for Ravenclaws! R for R! They were the ones with the brains. And seniors were more experienced. But.. there was a chance to be excused from homework! Woot! Ira had to go at it!
With a slight frown, Ira carefully read the riddle, trying to make sense. Oh! It was easy. It looked simple enough! Ira quicly scribbled down her answer in the parchment:
Text Cut: Parchment
Ghosts!
taking the parchment with her answer, Ira pushed it ion the mail slot as instructed.
TRAPPED. Blue's eyes widened and she wished she had Alec with her. She needed her sidekick to help her with these type of things. She shuffled forward and read the riddle. ....And read it again. And read it again, the third last line standing out to her. This.. She grinned and took out a piece of parchment and scribbled her answer on it before she elbowed her way over to the slot and slid it in.
That was Addie's first reaction to the task at hand. She looked at the riddle and began to read it. So it wasn't a wizard or witch and it wasn't a magical beast. A chill to touch? Might want to run when seeing. Silvery glow, see them every day, all different. Addie began to add the facts together in her head. Then she realized that it was easy. Ghosts, duh!
Addie quickly took out her piece of parchment, quickly scratched the answer down with a quill and then pushed through the crowd to slip it in the mailbox.
