Default HoM: Lesson One

Another day, another History of Magic lesson. Stepping into the classroom not much has changed since the previous lessons. The open windows have allowed for some leaves to fly into various places in the classroom, not that Scabior would care enough to pick them up. That was a house elf’s job, or more specifically the nutjob caretaker’s.

The desks are arranged so that only two people are capable of sitting next to each other. A toy train placed on a circular track, strangely similar to another famous train sits between each pair of desks.

Up at the front of the classroom, Scabior is seated behind his desk instead of his usual stance of leaning against it. This is most likely because, placed smack in the middle of his desk is also a train on a track similar to the ones on each pair of desks. This train however is different from the others despite looking exactly the same. While the others all sit motionless on their tracks, the train on Scabior’s desk happens to be moving in a continuous motion around the track with a stream of gray smoke trailing behind as it.

“Hurry in, come on. Take your seats.” He would advise that they sit next to someone they would want to work with, but it was too much work.

Class Progression:
Question One: The Hogwarts Express
Question Two
Question Three
Question Four
Activity

OOC: Class will officially begin in, 81/2 hours. Please familiarize yourself with the updated classroom rules. Your characters can chat, dance, try to set the room on fire. Just remember Scabior is there, and SS and RPG rules apply. Class has officially started (i'll edit in whoever i've missed in this post)! Please no posts announcing late arrivals, as that will result in lost of points. If you want to join in, I encourage you to! Just act as though your character was there all along.

When Nessie was called to read something, her parchment? Her notes? Louisa focused on the wicked Odessa sitting next to her now.

Holy. Merlin's. Awkward. Turtle.

THEIR PARTNER? As in ASPEN? Louisa groaned again, removing her hand from the train and using it in rubbing her face. Could she like swap places with someone else? Because really, she didn't want to work with someone who 1) hexed her beautiful fingers. 2) set her on fire and 3) was rumored to have infectious saliva. All with a sweet curious smile on their face. The smile was the creepiest actually, reminded her of the wizard assaulting her in summer.

But no. She swaps places, she'll be titled as the coward Head Girl. And Louisa miiiiight be jumpy and not-so-brave but she wasn't a coward. She could do this. After all what could possibly happen with Scabior around? Hmm?

Finally she let out an exaggerated sigh and turned to look at Odessa, maybe for the first time this lesson. "Listen. I'd really appreciate it if we work this through. Quickly. Then we can be on our separate ways. And stop staring at me like that, it makes you look like a breakout loony from St. Mungo's." Breeeeath. Okay.

Okay.. so they were in the middle, that meant their train had stopped like it did this term. Probably just a technical error? "So." She grabbed her wand and started thinking. Out loud. "We're supposed to make it move. That doesn't mean we have to fix it, since apparently we don't know what exactly broke the train." Pause. "We can add external fire-breathing engines. Or extremely powerful air puffing machine." Pause. "Maybe do something to the wheels too..."

Pause.

"What do you want from me?" Whoops! Off-topic. But Louisa really wanted to know, she squinted her eyes. "I don't believe you're being a brat just for the heck of it. What's your real motive?"

Louisa asked lots of good questions in and among them getting their directions from Professor Scabior. Aspen stared at Louisa the whole time, regardless, and pondered over that first question -- Why WOULDN'T Louisa wish for Aspen to stop staring at her?

She felt like writing out a list for the Head Girl, but they DID need to get to their project at hand. It made it all the more fun that Louisa CLEARLY didn't want to be Aspen's partner. Aspen smiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiled.

"And where do you propose we get these machines? Trick the local muggles into making them?" As it were, they were fresh out of muggles in the History of Magic classroom. "I think the answer is simple. This one is broken." Aspen turned to point at Scabior's working train. "That one isn't. We go make a copy of THAT one, trash this one, and we have a working train." It didn't really require much creativity at all, sadly. "I guess that doesn't FIX this train, but not everything is repairable. It'd fix the problem, but not this specific, non-unique train..." Hmmmm.... Hmmmm...

Aspen pushed her train again with her fingers, absently pondering their problem.

The final questions, along with Louisa's stated beliefs, got another grin out of Aspen. A long one, a truly happy one. She answered with a question of her own, "How many breakout loonys have you seen from Mungo's?"

Now what? Hannah was really hoping that her RAVENCLAW friend would get right down to business and get their train working again. "You're the claw...I figured you already had a plan." Not that Hannah wasn't smart she just didn't really care as much.

"Considering we don't know anything other than it stopped working..." she didn't even know how to finish that sentence. "I guess first things first...what do you think could of happened." Other than talking it out first Hannah didn't have any idea on what to do. Hopefully between the two of them they could figure something out.
Well. WEEELLLL. Elliot sighed and pulled out her wand. "Um...wanna' just try random spells on it? Hey!" she said, getting an idea..."What if...what if a spell made the train stop...so should we try Finite Incantatem?" probably a long shot that it would actually work, but oh well.

Elliot prodded the train suspiciously...as if it might blow up or something. She took a deep breath and...."Finite incantatem!" she cried, and as the spell hit the train...

Nothing happened.

Elliot growled a little. "Gah! stupid train. THis is why we shouldn't use anything made by muggles anyways!" she ranted to Hannah...UGH. "And I don't know what happened...if I did, I would tell you. But...maybe dark magic. But then why wasn't there more panic..." Because when dark magic was usually involved...people panicked.

Trying random spells? That was very unravenclaw of her. This was going to be a long class. This seemed like busy work to her. Hannah watched as Elliot tried the spell. It made sense to her to try it out because if a spell was used to counter it then Finite incantatem would have so worked...buuuut if it was dark magic was it really that simple?

Hannah was not happy that the spell didn't do a thing. She gave the train a whack with her wand thinking that maybe it just needed a little push. Nope still nothing.

"I know...they will never learn. Nothing good comes from muggle things." Still she was glad that Elliot seemed to be on the same wave length as her. "I'm convinced it had to be tampered with." How to prove it though. "Maybe somebody was really good at covering it up." There were so many possibilites. "Got anything else in that mind of yours?" Because Hannah was coming up with a big fat nothing!

Elliot chuckled a little when Hannah slapped her wand at the train...Elliot did the same thing...maybe a bit too hard, for sparks suddenly spewed out.."Ah! Oops." She recoiled her wand.

Heh.

She did NOT want to set her train on fire or anything...no. That would such a hufflepuff thing to do. So of course Elliot WOULDN'T be doing that!

Covering up...Elliot was good at covering up...making her sisters look guilty at home when she was the real culprit...yeah, it was totally easy. But with magic, it was different. "Well, if it was magic that stopped it, doesn't magic always leave a trace?" Yes. no need to answer that, Hannah dear.

But Elliot was drawing a blank on what to do next...so...as a borderline Slytherin...she glanced around, seeing what others with the middle trains were doing...hmm...

Only problem? No on was having any luck. She glanced a the professor..."We are NOT asking Scabior for help...at all costs. I don't care if we burn this place to the ground..." she whispered urgently..no no no. he had yelled at her too much this lesson..and she didn't much feel like dealing with him.

This was frustrating..."Try Reparo." she said...maybe something in it was broken...maybe.

but it most likely wouldn't work...

Partners? Eek. Kai didn't really have an abundance of friends here. He spotted a Slytherin girl asking for someone to partner with, and seized his chance by dashing across the room.

"H-Hi." he stuttered. "I'm Kai. I need, I mean...do you want to partner up with me?" That was the best he could do. She was way too attractive to be associated with him, but he wanted to do well in all his classes and a partner was necessary.

Since Nate was on the right side of the room, he had to do the one in Sept. of 48. Since his theary was most likely the correct one (not cocky at all) he started to look at the train's coal source. He noticed that there was no coal in there, so that must mean someone took the refilling charm thingy off of it. So he started to look around to see if anything else was fishy. There was no "ice" on the track so that debunks that. Next he realized that the train was off the tracks, so he set it back on.

She frowned at that CREEPY smile. "We stole a huge train from muggles, I think stealing engines would be a piece of cake." But no, she wasn't implying they should steal them. As for making a replica of Scabior's working train... that was downright a mission impossible. "If you can move near to his table, copying his train, dumping ours then sit back down without Scabior finding out...... then you'll be the most epic, dangerous girl in Hogwarts." Heeeeeh. "Sadly, you can't." Nobody could, actually. Louisa made herself comfy in her seat as she stared at the train again, that was now slightly moving from the other girl's nudge.

"Isn't there like a whole department in the ministry for maintenance? So instead of fetching someone for Portkeys, they could've gotten a maintenance team. Would've saved us a lot of injured kids." Nodnod. "Anyways." She tilted her head at the train and paused... thinking... "We should write down under what circumstances did the train stop." She pulled her parchment closer.

Ignoring Aspen's question, Louisa shot one of her own, "Does being a hexing brat make you feel stronger? Under control?" TWO can play this question game.

On her parchment she wrote,
The train stopped:
  • At night.
  • Not far away from Hogsmeade.
  • The lights flickered a couple of times.
  • A few bumps occurred.
  • One final big halt brought it to a final stop.

"Looks like a normal out-of-gas thing." SNORT. Only it didn't work by gas, or coal, or any known fuel, right? "I still believe it's a maintenance thing." How were THEY supposed to fix this? HMMM.

"So..." Wanna start things off cos he didn't have a clue? "I guess we just try the spells that are on the board?" He shrugged. He liked the look of that locomoter one.

But Ella could do that part because he would explode the whole train set if he tried.
So...considering they were sitting on the right side of the room, Theodore and Ella's train would be the one that crashed in September of 2048, right? Right. "Yeah, the trains on our side of the room are the ones that crashed into the snow bank. This could be because of a bunch of different reasons...like maybe the tracks froze or the magic failed..." Or someone was using powerful dark magic to stop the thing from getting to Hogwarts... "We could um...we could use Locomotor. The charm is meant to move objects so perhaps it would move the train?" Though again, the third year was sure that this task couldn't be that simple. "I um...I'll give it a go, yeah?"

Pulling out her wand, Ella pointed it at the toy train, concentrating on making it move around the track. "I think you're meant to say the incantation first, then the object's name so erm..." Right. Here goes... "Locomotor Train."

...

"Well...that was unsuccessful." Frown.

THAT's
what would make Aspen the most epic, dangerous - person - at Hogwarts? That was it? If only Professor Scabior would play along... She cast a glance up at him. Hmm. "So you condone thievery? Noted." Sooooo noted. "If you want to go out and be a burglar, I'm with you. Let's go." Right now. Professor Scabior would neeeeever notice that.

She continued to push the train while Louisa wrote the list. Maintenance team. Hmm. That was true... "The new Headmistress probably wanted to get to the safety of Hogwarts as soon as possible. She's probably paranoid. Portkeys are faster than Maintenance teams. Now... apparently... we're the Maintenance Team. And you suggest fuel? Okay. Let's create fuel." Tap tap tap on the train... tap... "Something to burn..."

Hehe. Burrrrn. Remember that time Aspen allegedly set the Head Girl's shoe on fire? haha Burn.

"I think that's how it makes you feel," Aspen answered the hexing, control question. Shrug. "I have a theory about Gary Rush's vomit as a fuel source. I also have a theory that we should transfigure this train to a plane and start a new Hogwarts tradition."

Their train had crashed. Okay then. Theodore nodded as Ella started saying words. He was glad that he partnered up with a smarty-pants. The Locomotor, duh. That would be there first choice and he was glad that Ella took it upon herself to perform it.

But it hadn't worked. So, oh....

"I know. Maybe we should conjure up a tow-truck." He said, half joking, but more importantly, half SERIOUS. The professor would technically have to give them points for being clever about it. Okay, he had a better answer, too. "Or we could use.... Incendio?"

... Let him explain.
"Liiiiike, first we could put a rocket behind it, and then fire it up and then it would shoot off the track, I am SURE of it." Theo nodded vigorously at his own idea, then scribbled all their stuffs down.

Text Cut: notes
- Locomotor - failed cos Ella didn't cast it right
- Incendio

These were rough notes, by the way.

He looked up at Ella. Yeah, SHE'D have to do this spell.

He looked up at Ella. Yeah, SHE'D have to do this spell.
Conjure a tow-truck? Well...that actually wasn't a bad idea, only Ella had never heard of a toy tow truck powerful enough to pull a toy train. And yes, she was seriously considering the probability that this idea could work... Not good, by the way. The third year's eyes widened a bit at the mention of incendio. So basically, Theodore wanted to set the train on fire? That was safe...

...

OHHHH! A rocket! Yeah, that made much more sense than setting the train on fire... EYEROLL. "Theodore, while I think a rocket would be really cool...and definitely worthy of a whole buncha points...I don't know where we'd get one." And more importantly, Ella didn't trust Theodore with fire...or a rocket. Especially in a classroom. "But um...the fire idea could come in handy if the tracks froze. That could be why the train crashed in the first place..." So good idea, Theo. Gold star and all that... "I'm not really sure I'm confident enough to use incendio, though. I'll use the Hot-air charm instead. That way I don't set us on fire." Heh. BUT SERIOUSLY, though.

Taking her wand out, Ella pointed it at the train tracks and performed the Hot-air charm, watching as a stream of hot air poured out from her wand. She made sure to heat all around the track, even using her wand to warm the tires of the train. There. That might come in handy.

"So um...you want to try the Locomotor charm again? It might work this time." Now that the track was de-iced or whatever.

Sooooo noted.

Eyeroooooll. "You manipulate people's words to your convenience? Noted." Because copying Scabior's train wasn't thievery. It was cheating. Big difference, and when it came to this particular professor, Louisa was 100% sure that all kinds of nature laws and rules change and twist. "And no. Let's just focus on fixing our train. Merlin you're so distractable." Yet another made-up word from the head girl this term.

And that made sense, the maintenance team would've lagged the whole school body. Louisa nodd-- she caught herself from NODDING. She was not going to flatly agree with the girl. Not before they reached some kind of agreement or truce... if at all.

Something to burn, yeah. Why did that sound so awfully familiar? Never mind.

"Charcoal. We can use the trees over here," she pointed at the toy trees placed elegantly near the track.

Aspen's suggestions about fuel, though... Louisa screwed up her face and jerked backward, "Eww!" Vomit as fuel? Really? "That's gross! And doesn't have a scientific background, does it?" Unless Odessa considered what's left of food's calories an energy source. That'd be... weird and sharp at the same time. The plane theory on other hand, "That sounds... entertaining." Her mouth was pulled at the corners in what some would consider a smile. "Not practical though. Is it?" She stared at the train, eyes squinting thoughtfully, "If it was the fuel that would fix the train, then it wouldn't have been a problem at all." Right? "I'm down with this plane idea. " GRIN. "We can transfigure parts of this train in order to make it fly."

SPOILER!!: The Parchment
The train stopped:
  • At night.
  • Not far away from Hogsmeade.
  • The lights flickered a couple of times.
  • A few bumps occurred.
  • One final big halt brought it to a final stop.

Transfiguration work:
  1. Transfigure the front car to take a pointed shape.

Louisa pushed the parchment closer to her.... p-partner.. and tapped the front of the train making it bubble and change and grooooooow into a birdie beak-like shape.

CONJURE ONE. Theo sighed loudly at Ella. She was a THIRD YEAR now, so she should 100% be able to conjure up a rocket. Or transfigure one, or WHATEVER. It needed to be done. But anywho... he stroked his imaginary beard for a moment.

The hot air spell sounded like a good plan, he guessed. And it brought Theo to his next idea.

"Okay, but... if it crashed, we should fix it, right?" Yes, right.

...
Theo pulled out his wand, took a deep breath and.... wait, he did know this spell, right? He'd read about it, sure, but he'd never practiced it much. "Repair-eo." He said, but nothing. Of course, there was never anything GOOD that came out of Theo's wand. But he was SURE that the spell was said like that. "REPAIIIIIR-YE-OLD-TRAIN." That was more frustration talking.

"Repairo." Nope... "Reparo." WHAT? The train made a little sizzling noise and then, it suddenly looked a lot more smooth and... well, fixed.

Theo beamed at Ella, then rested his wand on the desk. "Okay, you do the locomotor spell, cos I don't think it will work for me." If he was being honest. Meanwhile, the notes....

Text Cut: notes
Locomotor - failed cos Ella didn't cast it right
Incendio - failed cos Ella said no
Hot air charm - worked
Reparo - worked like a charm
Locomotor - take two

Not exactly. The Head Girl had suggested directly that they steal. Now, their Head of House words, after Louisa has told on her, had been... twisted for convenience - in a manner of speaking. Was taking the LITERAL words manipulation?

Distractable to who though? Griiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin. Distractor distracting the distractee.

"Yet." It didn't have scientific proof yet. "Gary wasn't exactly forthcoming with his stomach's contents. But there's time." Lots of time to get him to puke.

So... they were going to make a plane. Hogsmeade Station would also need to be converted to Hogsmeade Airport. That'd be fun. And stealing a Jumbo Jet from Muggles sounded REALLY fun to Aspen.

She took the list, added to it, then got up to walk around their train table.

They got stuck to the side of the front car that Louisa has transfigured with a sticking charm.

"We'll need to add parachutes in the event the Hogwarts Express, Plane Edition crashes." Imagine the sky full of underaged, parachuting students? It'd be extraordinary, really. Aspen turned their train!plane towards Louisa. Her turn.

Oh...that was true. If the train had crashed into the snow bank, it probably did get damaged. Ella nodded her head, looking at the train thoughtfully. "That's a good point, Theo. Go for it." He could repair it, yeah?

The third year watched as her younger friend removed his wand and...hesitated. Blink.Blink. What in Merlin's long white beard was he doing, anyway? Repair-eo? What on earth was that? Ella raised her eyebrows at him, shaking her head. That definitely wasn't the right incantation. Try again... Giggle!snort "Repair ye old train?" Ella asked, a wide smile on her face. "It was nice of you to command the train to repair itself and all but I think you'll have to help...using your wand." Just saying.

Oh! He did it! BEAM.BEAM.BEAM. And the train actually did look a lot better. "Brilliant job, Theodore!" High five? Yeah. Just go with it, Lurker. The third year raised her hand and looked at her friend expectantly. They could move on as soon as he stopped leaving his friend hanging.

...And while she was waiting, Ella stole a glance at Theodore's notes and frowned. "Ididtoocastthatright." She mumbled under her breath, shaking her head. Anyway...back to work.

"Okay, here it goes." And the badger picked up her wand once again, pointing it at the toy train, concentrating on what she wanted to happen. Oh pleaseeeee work! "Locomotor Train" O___O Meep! It was moving...albeit quite slowly but it was going...CHOOCHOO!

WOOH, she hadn't said no to this idea! He was still sure that if they'd gone with the rocket idea, things would've moved on a lot quicker.

Theodore frowned. She was laughing at him, but the whole repair-ye-old-train wasn't a serious thing. He was just getting mad. But she seemed happy when he did it right!"Thanks, that was awesome!" He'd ACTUALLY cast a spell correctly, wow. Theo beamed and high-fived her back, though he'd of preferred a fist bump.

Moments later, Ella re-cast the locomotor spell and the train was moving! WOOH! But it was slow. Very slow.

"How about that rocket now?" Technically, it would just be a bit of fun because they HAD completed the task. Theo added puppy dog eyes. Rockeeeeeeeeeeeet.

"Why does it have to be Gary's?" Genuinely curious girl here. Did the boy's diet was that special and worth the puke dealing business? "Why don't you puke and test this theory? Or ask your brother to." Sounded pretty legit and less time-consuming. They didn't have to wait for Gary to feel comfortable about it, did they? In fact, now Louisa had the urge to sign her name on this experiment. Just to watch. Spike would've loved to tag along too.

Parachutes? Heh heh. Louisa pulled the train closer, "Very tempting to re-break this plane edition just to see it happen." It'd be unexpected. "The tail now," she plucked one more piece of the track and positioned it on top of the last car, enjoying the luxury of feeling like a BOSS by doing a non-verbal sticking charm. That was the vertical stabilizer of the tail. She then detached two more pieces of the track and transfigured them into wings, a bit close to Aspen's, and stuck them on either side of that same car. "The tail." She announced.

They were almost finished, "We still need a propeller." The train's wheels can serve for the landing gear.

Ella nodded, returning the smile. "It was awesome!" And good thinking on his part. Ella almost forgot about repairing the train. Oh! AND a high-five? Cool beans. Ells approved.

"I..." Ella didn't know if this was allowed BUT Professor Scabior hadn't really said anything about how they were meant to fix the train, just to fix it. "Theo, I have an idea but I'm not sure it'll work." So if it didn't, no whining. Pointing her wand in the direction she figured her dormitory was, the small badger concentrated on what she wanted. "Accio Radical Racing Rockets."

...

After a few minutes of waiting, a small packet zoomed in through the open window and landed with a PLOP on Ella's desk. Blink.Blink. "Woah." It had worked! That was...good. "So these um...Well I got them at Weasley's Wizard Wheezes an erm...they're like mini rockets." And if the package was correct, they weren't meant to blow things up... HOPEFULLY. "They don't go too far but they do have pretty sparks that shoot out the back when lit and they're pretty fast." So all in all one would be perfect for train purposes... "Should we um...use one?"

WOOh, they were a good team!

Theo's eyes went wide as Ella mentioned an idea. Please be a cool idea, or he may go mad. OOOOOOOOH. "Ella, that is BRILLIANT!" He watched in awe as she summoned the rockets using ACCIO. Wow, she was good at magic.

Points for Ella for being awesome. Theodore pulled a rocket out from the packet and very carefully placed it on top of the train, before pulling out some spello-tape from his bag. Don't ask why he had it, Theo had ALL of the magical stationary in his bag. His mother insisted on it all.

And viola, it was attached.

Theo exchanged a quick glance with Ella, left a moment of awkwardness, and then pointed his wand at the rocket. Was it time for INCENDIO yet?

Why not?

"Incendio." Unbelievably, the spell had worked, but then again, he HAD actually practiced that one before. The rocket lit up immediately, sizzled and ZOOMED straight off of the track and into the wall. And then it was a heap on the floor.

Theodore was still clapping like a seal. "That was AWESOME."

"Stopped on September first 1993 ... because Dementor interference," she said softly. "The Ministry, erm, hired the dementors to search for Sirius Black, but I think we can assume that they were the ones that stopped the train. Not the Ministry?" Again, the idea of dementors sucking the happiness out of the train to make it stop and, um, die popped into her head.

Kurumi checked her notes again, scanning the list of spells that were used on the train to see if there was some sort of connection between them and dementors. Something that implied opposites. "So, we know dementors essentially suck the light and happiness from the air, feeding off of positive memories, hope, happiness...which we know there is a lot of at the beginning of the term on the Hogwarts Express, especially with first years..." Flip flip flip flip flip. "Don't suppose casting the Patronus Charm on this toy train will get it moving again...since they were the ones that stopped it. Remove the source and get the train moving again?"
Milton copied Kurumi's idea and opened his textbook, flipping to the page that the gryffindor was on. His eyes scanned through the paragraphs while she spoke. She had a point, yeah, but he still didn't know much about dementors and their capabilites besides sucking out the happiness out of stuff. He furrowed his eyebrows again and shrugged. "Sure." Kurumi was smart, right? They could go with her idea.

"Do you have any cookies on you?" he asked suddenly. She WAS the cookie girl, after all. "My brain needs more power to think this much."

Again with the good ideas. Milton was glad she was sitting next to him. "It's worth a shot. Do you... I mean... can you do the patronus charm?" he asked, a little bit quieter. Because... he hadn't managed to do that yet and it was slightly embarrassing.

Default Partner? Logan, Edmund, Isaac...?

Was this for serious right now?

Not only had the professor disagreed with her, adding to her embarrassment, but now they would have to creatively use magic to fix these stupid trains. And of course, she was in the middle of the flipping room! So, who knew what was wrong with her train?! Ugh... maybe the professor was right to disagree with her because right now she would rather know the WHAT than the WHY.

But... but... This was HISTORY! She had been so confident they wouldn't have to actually use magic in this for class.

Finding a brief second of courage, she glanced around the room. All of the older students seemed to have partnered off, and Sutton DEFINITELY wanted to be with one of the older students. Maybe she'd find Logan or Edmund or Isaac? But she hadn't seen them come into class, so maybe they weren't in this one with her...

Not sure what to do and beginning to feel panicked over the idea of figuring out what spells and then using them on the train, the tears came flooding back to her eyes. To busy herself, she pulled her spell book out of her bag and began flipping through it trying to imagine what she could try. Despite her efforts to hold them in, she was sure a few tears escaped and fell onto the pages...

They had to FIX the Hogwarts Express? Oh gosh, he should have been paying more attention. Ed glanced around, looking lost and kind of shuffled towards the back of the room. Partner? WHO DID HE KNOW THAT WASN'T PAIRED UP ALREADY?

Oh yes, Sutton! He'd noticed her when the professor had been kind of short with her. He strolled over to her and stood next to her, pulling out a tissue because he'd noticed the tears on her book when he'd approached. Staring at the train, he waited for her to compose herself before speaking.

Logan wasn't sure what to do right now.

It seemed that everyone in sight was partnered off and he was a loner, standing in the middle of nowhere and doing nothing. Sigh.

Deciding that it was probably better to look around for someone to work with instead of staring into nowhere and hoping a person materialized, he started making his rounds. There had to be someone who was free to work with him, he was NOT going to do this by himself. He refused.

OH HO!

Out of the corner of his eyes, Sutton appeared out of nowhere. With a boy... and crying while looking at a book. o_O

Making a beeline towards her, Logan tutted. "If you don't stop crying we won't be able to get any work done." And they certainly did not want that.

Ella smiled, glad Theodore liked her idea. "Thanks." She said with a shrug. Ain't no thangggggg. She was practically an expert at summoning things at this point. She'd practiced A LOT.

And then Theo was taking out the rocket AND securing it to the train. Blink.Blink. Oh man, they were actually doing this. They were actually setting off a rocket in class? EEP! Ella watched, eyes wide, not believing that she was taking part in this. ...But it was for scientific purposes, yeah? So it was totally acceptable behavior? Yeah...yeah, of course it was.

Ella watched in awe as Theodore lit the rocket successfully and it zoomed into action. OHMYGOSH.OHMYGOSH.OHMYGOSH. They were SO getting into trouble for this...

"Well...that was definitely faster than before." Blink.Blink.

The third year wasn't sure if she was super scared or excited about the fact that the rocket had worked. She eyed Theodore and cracked a smile, BUT only for a moment. Then she was out of her seat and gathering the pieces...YES pieces...of the destroyed train off the floor. YIKES.

Bringing them back to the table, the third year placed the pile in the middle and looked at Theodore, eyes wide. "What are the chances of repairing this?" Good right? RIGHT?

....And Scabior saw none of this, yeah? WHISTLE.

Once the awesomeness of that rocketing train had passed, Theo's eyes sank a little bit as he checked across the classroom as to where Professor Scabior was. They had just demolished their train!!!!!! What would they do noooooow? It's okay, Theo was good at getting out of these situations.

...

.... Kinda.

He rushed over to their broken train, scooped it up and dumped it in the nearest dustbin. Then he whistled as he walked back over to Ella. "Follow my lead."

Le pause.

"Oh my GOSH, Ella. Where did our train go?! That invisibility spell we used must have worked REALLY well..." He said quite loudly. That worked, right?
