Another day, another History of Magic lesson. Stepping into the classroom not much has changed since the previous lessons. The open windows have allowed for some leaves to fly into various places in the classroom, not that Scabior would care enough to pick them up. That was a house elf’s job, or more specifically the nutjob caretaker’s.
The desks are arranged so that only two people are capable of sitting next to each other. A toy train placed on a circular track, strangely similar to another famous train sits between each pair of desks.
Up at the front of the classroom, Scabior is seated behind his desk instead of his usual stance of leaning against it. This is most likely because, placed smack in the middle of his desk is also a train on a track similar to the ones on each pair of desks. This train however is different from the others despite looking exactly the same. While the others all sit motionless on their tracks, the train on Scabior’s desk happens to be moving in a continuous motion around the track with a stream of gray smoke trailing behind as it.
“Hurry in, come on. Take your seats.” He would advise that they sit next to someone they would want to work with, but it was too much work.
OOC: Class will officially begin in, 81/2 hours. Please familiarize yourself with the updated classroom rules. Your characters can chat, dance, try to set the room on fire. Just remember Scabior is there, and SS and RPG rules apply. Class has officially started (i'll edit in whoever i've missed in this post)! Please no posts announcing late arrivals, as that will result in lost of points. If you want to join in, I encourage you to! Just act as though your character was there all along.

Why couldn't they just fix this the Muggle way? Even if he was a Pureblood, he knew a fair bit of Muggle things from Zayden and Amelia.

I did all the thinking, and now you want me to do all the magic, too?!" she said in a pouting voice, staring at them both with her big green eyes.
When neither of them moved, she let out a sigh and pointed her wand at the train. This was an important one, she knew, as it was near the beginning of her spell book. With the appropriate (and perfect) wand moment, Sutton recited, "Finite Incantatem!"
And nothing happened.
"Wow... I am SURE no one that of trying that the day the train stopped," she said with a small giggle. "Now what?"
Logan didn't seem to have much input on this, but Ed understood. Not everyone understood the brain frazzler that was physics. Though when it came to spells, he hoped he'd have something to add. Nope? Okay then. He looked back at Sutton and then smirked as she worked out that they were waiting for her. "Come on, you need to get practicing. I'm sure both Logan and I could cast this spell with our eyes shut, it's a perfect opportunity." He reaaaaally wanted to laugh at her whining, but chose to keep his poker face on in case she turned around and got grumpy with him. Wouldn't do for that to happen in the middle of a class.
He nodded in approval once the spell was cast, but then shook his head when nothing happened. He'd caught a little bit of what the professor was saying about reparo and narrowed his eyes slightly as he tried to work out if something had broken in the train itself. "What if the muggle components just happened to stop working and everyone overreacted instead of trying to fix it?" It was possible. "We could try reparo, but I just heard him" He indicated the professor with his head "Saying we'd need to be specific. So like...wheels, mechanics, pistons, all that stuff." Yes? He looked at both of them hopefully.
Cassia lowered her wand when it was Ira's part and watched closely. Yup they were fixing the train and then it's move and produce steam just like the one on the Professor's desk. Yaay! And Cassia actually was thinking of asking Scabior to let her take the train as a souvenir and she'll make Ira borrow it no problem. You know the lioness helped fixing the train bu Cassia was younger so she will get to keep it.
Just as she was having those bright and interesting ideas, Ira dropped the ball of fire. Cassia gasped and jumped out of her seat. "Bu..b..but.." She stuttered looking at the burning engine and back at Ira then at the ashes that once were parchments. She kept darting her eyes between those three till it started to get a bit weird. However, the second-year was sad about what happened to her train that was supposed to be given to her! That caused a pout to her lower lip.
Maybe it wasn't too late to fix it, no? Cassia still standing moved to the other side of the table turning her back to Scabior to block the sight just in case they were going to do some illegal thin to fix the train's engine. Though Cassia was short and Scabior could easily look from above her.
"Ok don't panic let's act like nothing happened." Cassia muttered to Ira though the Snake was the one that was likely panicking . And what did the girl say? She will do it one more time! "NO!" Cassia said a bit loudly before noticing that. "Er...no," She repeated in a lower tone. You know if Ira tried again then the train would likely to burn ALL OF IT. Besides Cassia doesn't have more parchments to use. "You try that repairing spell on the burnt engine." she told her pausing a bit on BURNT. "if that doesn't work we could just borrow an engine from someone," Mhhmmm. Borrow it was.
Cassia reached for her wand and glanced down at the train. "Ok I'll try the repairing on this part of the engine." She said. "Reparo," She uttered pointing her wand.
So did it work?
"Relax Cassia.." Ira tried to calm the younger girl down. "Its all settled down, don't panic.. breathe in, breath out.. breath in.." So the meditation learnt from the DADA class did help here. "Yeah! That would be much better to pretend everything's right." Ira agreed with the girl.
Ira's eyes went round when Cassia shrieked no! "Hey! Shhh!" What was wrong with her? It did seem like there were many small fires being lit in the whole class. So one more wasn't a big deal. Nevertheless, Ira didn't want to frighten the younger snake. After all, being a Slytherin, she wasn't too brave like herself. Thinking like that, Ira smirked but then focused back on the matter at hand.
"Okay, this time, you try the spell. The repairing spell." Saying so, Ira bent down and crouched, and waited to hear some sound, some sign that the train was repaired. Click! Yay! Something clicked. Something happened inside the train. Ira nodded at Cassia and pointed at the engine, "Its not damaged! I heard a click!" So that meant the fire did warm up the engine a bit. "That means we're on the right track!"
Saying so, Ira pulled out one parchement from her own bag, and tore off a small corner piece and crumpled it. And cast the blueball flames charm, so that the fire would not affect the train, and then levitated it to the train and put it inside the engine. "There.. this time, the fire won't affect the train, I promise." Ira reassured Cassia. "And now, maybe a more focused spell should do the trick." Something like reparo Engine or others like that.

Oh well. They should stick with what they knew at the moment. Which was... no much. Meh.
"Yes, I agree." Sadly. But she'd take notes either way and would most definitely be going to the library right after the class! That list was super awesome!
Chizpurfles? Sophie tilted her head at his suggestion. "Do you think chizpurfles could have made all this?" Weren't they like... magical lice or something? She was not aware that chizpurfles could actually do more than just infest crups and eating rest of potions. "I don't think these thingies could do such great damage..." She told him as she eyed their train set.
"If there was an actual infestation..." Of whatever creature or... other thing. "...people would have realised it before we departed, no?" The Hogwarts Express was only used twice a YEAR! People probably checked on it before they used it those two times, didn't they?? It'd be weird if they didn't... right?
What else could it be? Sophie tapped the parchment with her quill, before dropping it on the desk and reaching out her hand to poke the train. "Maybe..."Thiiiink! All she could come up with, though, was Dark Magic. "I don't know... the only think that sounds logical to me is that someone made it stop on purpose." She finally said, looking defeated. "Why else would both the magical and the muggle methods fail at the same time?"
"Well chizpurfles could have been released on the train. They're attracted to magic, right? They could have made the spells stop working at least. And I don't know if they mess with mechanical things or not. They like electricity --thats like muggle magic and all-- maybe they like moving parts too." And also if it was chizpurfles then they actually would just have to call the ministry to fix it. So their part would be done and they wouldn't have to do too much work! Made so much sense!
"But I think it was on purpose too. Hey! I wonder why they didn't just make the Hogwarts express into one giant portkey?" Was that even possible? What was the biggest ever portkey? "What if that Ministry guy broke the train so that he could make lots of portkeys and show off his portkey skills?" Maybe he was practicing for a portus casting contest?
West was pretty much doing more thinking than he was doing. But that was because it was a toy train and he was sure it wasn't broken in the same way as the for real train, and he couldn't do most of the spells they'd talked about anyways.

Kat faced her Train after she went to the left side of the room because that side of the room is kinda easy. Heeeeeeeeeeh. If the Locomotor charm was taken off, obviously it would stop moving. And on September 1993... it stopped... because... of a Dementor attack? Kat wasn't even sure if they could produce a Patronus charm. Doesn't seem like it anyway. But Kat tried the simplest of them all.
"Reparo,"
And nothing happened. Wowowowowowowowowowowowow.

Cassia inhaled and exhaled steadily and in a focused rhythm like Ira said. The lioness probably doesn't know that Cassia is fervent girl who gets excited, upset or mad easily and hugely. However, the good news that she was calming down now. And she still hoped that she'll get to keep the train when it works. But will Scabior agree?
As Cassia cast the spell Ira was keeping her ear near, good thinking. Click! "Really! Cassia beamed at her partner. See they were fixing it because there was a CLICK! Hold on….what if this click was a bad thing. What if the last undamaged part just got damaged! No it couldn't have happened, right? Cassia used the repairing spell so it ought to repair and not damage, true? TRUE. Cassia tried to push the negative thinking and focus on the toy that's supposed to be hers after being fixed.
The second-year watched Ira performing the flames charm. Honestly girl if you knew this all the time why didn't you use it earlier instead of that incendio one which Cassia cast. At least this one couldn't do much harm it SOMEONE DROPPED it. "I like this spell," Cassia stated because she felt like it.
Focused spell? Mm… the second-year snake stroked her chin thinking of what spell should do the trick? She had mentioned a spell a couple of minutes ago right? Cassia's lousy memory just just hiding it. She shut her eyes closed trying to recall the incantation.
Hmm…."LOCOMOTOR!" She suddenly blurted out . Eeep she remembered! "Ok but I suggest that we do it together, you know for double effect and that kinda stuff." And because Cassia wasn't sure that she could do that spell. But she wasn't mentioning this ,ok?
Clearing her throat, Cassia pointed the tip of her wand at the train and with a flick she said, "Locomotor Train." She glanced up at the lioness ,was she with her?

Dylan thought for a few moments about what the Ravenclaw was suggesting. A Cheering Charm? Was the train and it's mechanics able to feel now? Although, Dylan had to hand it to him. That was thinking outside of the box...
Shrugging his shoulders, the Captain sighed. There was absolutely too much thinking involved in this. Although, he did have one more thing...A stray thought, if you would. "Well, to be honest. I don't think too much was wrong with it...considering that when the Dementors left the train, it worked again." That suggested it wasn't something internally wrong. "I suppose the main point would be to dispose of the. The Dementors, I mean."
There was a spell...but it was totally escaping his mind at the moment. "For now, perhaps a combination of Rictusempra and Lumos?" Yea, they were lame suggestions...but the Slytherin was drawing blanks. Too much thinking......."You know, under the assumption that we're ridding the train of Dementors..."
Dylan was firm in his belief that the issue wasn't mechanical.
While the other boy was thinking, Ethan had quickly performed a cheering charm on the little train - not that he thought that would work, really, but more for ruling things out and seeing what, if anything, might have an effect on the model. Just as he thought... nothing. The Ravenclaw shrugged as he turned to the Slytherin when he spoke.
"I agree," he said with a nod. "From what I remember of hearing it, the train stopped when the dementors boarded, then it started again when they left... but how did they make it stop in the first place?" From what he knew about dementors, they shouldn't be able to affect machinery, but maybe he was wrong. "Maybe they caused the conductor to faint and he couldn't operate the train." If that were they case, though, his cheering charm probably would've worked on the tiny replica of the man in the train. Maybe he was just over-thinking it.
The fifth year nodded slowly as he absorbed the Slytherin boy's suggestion. That was certainly a creative idea. "A combination...? Sure, let's give it a try," he said with a shrug and pointed his wand at the train. "Maybe if I cast Rictusempra and you cast Lumos at the same time... ? Let's see what happens." Ethan was up for any suggestion. And if that didn't work, maybe he could attempt a Patronus - though he knew it wouldn't be corporeal. Assuming they were still trying to rid the train of dementors.

They had to try out spells on these little trains now to fix them? ...Great. Hopefully her partner was good with spells because otherwise these trains weren't going to be fixed any time soon.
Speaking of her partner...she needed one. And fortunately, she was just sitting a couple seats away from Sarah and heard her asking for a partner. Penelope got up from her seat and moved over to the one next to her fellow second year. "I will," she answered, "if you want me." Might as well give the other girl the option to refuse since she wasn't sure how much help she'd actually be.
Sarah was glad someone had heard her. It was Penelope, Sarah sgrinned ear to ear. It was awesome to be among friends! "Sure I want you!" want a question! who would not like Penelope as a partner. "Let us first try the most commonly used spell for repairing things.. reparo".Sarah gaxed intently at the train before her. "reparo" she said, nothing.
Oh well, just to make sure it did not work, she did it again, "reparo!!" The train looked a bit different, yet it still did noe move. What had chaneged, was a little piece had reattatched itself to the exterior.
"Me neither," Sierra admitted. Well, except in Defense class, and even then, that dementor was fake. She grew silent and watched as Nigel cast Incendio. Nothing happened right away, but another idea did come to mind. "Why don't we go take a look at the professor's train," she suggested. "He said we couldn't touch it, but at least we could give it a look over."
She stuffed her wand back into her holster and glanced toward the front of the room where the professor's train sat.
"That sounds like a good plan."
Nigel said putting his wand away to look at the professor's train. Maybe there was some secret thing the professor did to make his train work. Since they could not touch it maybe they could see something
But Nigel did not know what he was looking. Maybe Sierra did. After a a couple more minutes of looking at the train. Nigel was ready to try some spells on his train.
"I think we should try incendio and reparo again. Who knows it might work this time."

It was a good job that Ella was doing all the sucking up for the both of them. Good old Ella.
...
O__O
"But..."
He began, then remembered about the not answering back idea. 20 minutes?! Sighing loudly, to show his annoyance, Theodore picked up the mess of the train and dropped it on their desk. Puzzles? "Umm... yeah.. yeah, I guess I'm okay at puzzles." Theodore picked up the wheels and lined them all up nicely.
But that was as much as he could do.... The rest was just a mad heap on top of the wheels. Time for a repairing charm. "Reparo." It worked like a charm before, but NOW, it was failing him.
"It's cos I'm nervous!!"
The third year watched as Theodore placed the wheels of the train where they would normally be and then just kind of heaped the rest of the rubble on top. She tried her very hardest not to roll her eyes, knowing that wasn't at all helpful in their current situation. Ella held her breath as the younger boy then tried to mend the train, frowning when it didn't work.
"It's okay, Theo." Ella said calmly, leaning down to inspect the damage more closely. Sheesh. They really had completely destroyed the little thing. EEP. "What...about Erecto? I know that spell is used to erect structures given their pieces and erm...this train is definitely in a BUNCH of pieces." So maybe just maybe it would work. Best to give it a go, yeah? They were kind of desperate at this point, anyway.
Giving her partner a hopeful smile, the third year pointed her wand at the train parts and concentrated on what she wanted to happen. Oh Merlin's beard PLEASE let this work."Erecto!"

She walked around and around the train, looking at each part of it and wishing she could touch it. No, she wasn't that amused by it, but if she could just touch it, she might could figure out what it had that the other train didn't.
"It looks just like ours," she said. "I can't see any differences." She shrugged again when Nigel suggested a repeat of what they'd done before. "Well, it's not working now, so...it's at least an option." Who knows, it might even work.
She turned on her heels and headed back to their train. She flicked her wand out again then pointed it to the area where the engine was housed. With a swipe of her wand in a near counter-clockwise circle, she said, "Reparo!"

Theo had run out of ideas. The reparo charm SHOULD have worked, like it had done before. It was the nerves, he blame those. "Erecto?" He had NEVER heard of that one, but he'd trust Ella on it, cos she was good at magic. The boy watched as she worked her magic, and the spell seemed to have work.
All of the pieces had lifted into the air, and formed the shape of the original train structure. Okay, now what? Try the reparo again?
He'd try it.
"Reparo." With a flick of his wand, the pieces of the train zoomed back together and... had that really just worked? THIS WAS TEAM WORK.
"I guess we should use the Locomotor again.... to get it moving." Because then Scabior would have NOTHING to whine about... the big whiney-pants. Theo fought the temptation to send a glare his way. He looked at Ella instead, expecting her to do this part.
Ella was in charge of locomoting things. Theo was in charge of repairing things? Okay.

The badger watched as the train pieces lifted into the air, fitting together as they had originally right before her eyes. "Wicked." She said to herself, thanking Merlin that the spell had worked. They were one step closer to not being murdered to completing the task again.
And then Theodore had repaired the train, his spell working perfectly this time. The third year BEAMED at him, feeling more and more like they were going to survive this class by the minute. "Nice, Theodore." She said with a nod of approval, her green eyes inspecting his handy work. Yup...the train seemed to be okay.
"Right...Locomotor." Ella could totally do this part and they'd be okay, yeah? It would work. It...had to work. Mostly because their time was nearly up.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
Raising her wand and pointing it at the train once again, the badger took a deep breath. "Cross your fingers, Theo." She said to her friend, ready to cast. "Locomotor Train!"
...
"THANK MERLIN!" Ella squeaked as the train began to move, albeit even slower than it had before the whole rocket incident. No matter, though. It was moving. IT WAS MOVING. "We did it."She said more quietly this time, slumping back in her chair with a small smile plastered on her face. "...Again." She added sheepishly, looking over at Theo. He was relieved, yeah?

This was allllllllllll going to plan.
The second year beamed back at his friend when she complimented him. Yeah, he really WAS good at that repairing charm. Which was good in case he happened to break anything by accident in the future. He broke lots of things. He couldn't WAIT to show Casper.
He crossed his fingers, as Ella said, when she attempted the Locomotor spell. But after what felt like AGES went by, the train started moving. Theodore exhaled and relaxed a little bit in his chair. "He won't kidnap us now, surely." He whispered.
COS THEY HAD DONE IT.
....
TAKE THAT, SCABIOR. They were more like saviors as opposed to murderers now!
"Professor Sabiorrrrrrrrrrrrrr." He said rather loudly, and rather cockily also. "We did it!" YEP. House points for this double triumph, maybe?
Theo turned back to Ella quickly. "Do you think we could manage a color changing spell?" Just for fun. Or was that pushing it a bit?

Ella nodded, clearly relieved. "Yeah, now he'll have no reason to." Because they had done it, repaired the demolished train. It was quite the accomplishment if Ells said so herself.
The third year winced as Theodore called out to Scabior, his cocky tone alarming her a bit. "Theodore, just erm...don't talk too much when he comes over, okay?" Because if they escaped murder and then Theodore got them into trouble with his bragging, Ella was going to be SO angry. Mhm.
A color changing spell? Ella considered this a moment before nodding. "Yeah, I've done that with Soph a few times in the dormitories. We turned all the pillows different colors. What did you have in mind?" Cause they'd have to work quickly if Professor Kidnapper-man Scabior was on his way over.
Seeing as her wand was already put away, Sierra left their station and headed up to the professor's train.
Nigel was thinking if there was anything different between The Professor's train and theirs on the way back. But he could not think of anything. They decided to try the two spells again. It might work, Who knows. When Sierra said reparo. He heard something coming from their train. He guessed it worked this time. Who would have thought you would only need reparo.
"Okay, It seems like Reparo worked. Weird it did not work the first time."
Now it was Nigel's turn to do the spell.Maybe it did not work last time because he cast the spell on the entire train and not inside it. He put his wand inside the cart where he want it and said "Incendio!". Nigel eyed got bigger when it seemed it worked. "Well would you look at that. It worked"

Okay, okay.
Theo BEAMED as Ella confirmed that they'd be okay. No need for Blue to call in the team for a superhero jobby after all!
Don't talk to much? Whaaaaa? Theodore made a face at Ella, then shrugged. "It'll be fine, Ella. Scabior loooooves me." Otherwise they'd be hanging from their toes from the roof by now, right?
Woah, she had agreed? Theo almost took his question back, after guessing that doing any more magic to their train would probably prove disastrous. "Okay... well, we could change it to green." Because red was such a Gryffindor color. And Gryffindors weren't cool. He smiled at Ella, basically letting her know that she'd have to do it, cos he didn't know how.
But ehhhh, she had done it with Sophie all the time, she just said it!

Ella stuck her tongue out at Theodore before smiling, amused. She couldn't be mad, especially because they had fixed the disastrous mess they'd gotten themselves in to. The third year raised her eyebrows a bit when her friend assured her that Scabior loved him, finding that hard to believe. "If you say so." Though Ella didn't picture the professor loving students, she thought he must love things like sarcasm, and sharp objects, and scowls instead. Shrug.
Green? Hm. Ella considered this for a moment or two, looking from the train to Theo. It was her favorite color, though she supposed Theodore wanted it because he was a Slytherin. "Okay...I guess we could do that. If Professor Scabior asks about the color change, you'll have to explain." Because it had been his idea, after all.
Pointing her wand at the train once again, the third year performed the color change charm, watching as the train turned green. She nodded in approval, happy that she was best friends with the self-proclaimed 'Charms Queen.' It really did come in handy at times like this.
"So...what do you think?" She asked Theo, eyebrows raised. They were done now, right? BEAM.

He didn't even know why she was asking because his brain CLEARLY wasn't functioning correctly that day. Too much was going on in life. Sigh. But anyway. Her explanation seemed good. "That makes sense. Dementors leave, train works. Since that's the reason it stopped in the first place." But that was kind of redundant, wasn't it? Meh.
Milton shrugged when she said she wasn't too familiar with steam engines. He was about to say that he wasn't familiar with trains at all (except that they were much slower than portkeys), but then she went off all about trains. And honestly, Milton had no idea what she was talking about. He just kind of stared at her and blinked a few times. "You lost me at 'electrical'. And then I kind of just tuned you out because I don't really care..." Sorry, cookie girl. No offense, though.
..... HUFF. He was doing it WRONG? SIGH. He knew that, too. Somewhere inside his muddled brain. Gah. Milton set his wand down on the table (rather angrily) and threw his hands up in a sort of surrender. "Fine, Miss Know-It-All. You do it. Make the bloody train move." Shacklebolt out.
He didn't poke and prod the train with his hands before they started? What sort of Ravenclaw was he? Kurumi couldn't help but raise an eyebrow in his direction. Curious...very curious...
"Well...it seems a little warmer," she repeated. You know, just in case he was curious. Which he obviously wasn't. "So...maybe it did eliminate the problem." Kurumi really just wanted to dwell some more on the fact that she had just produced her first proper patronus EVER...but...she clearly wasn't going to receive any sort of pat on the back from Milton, so it would be wasted celebration.
CUE MORE EYEBROW RAISING. Seriously...Milton was a Ravenclaw? Was HE sure? Kurumi didn't comment on his lack of comment.
Weirdo FAKE!Ravenclaw....
And now he was throwing his wand around? Merlin this was...interesting. Kurumi was actually a little intrigued by Milton right now. It was like...everything she had assumed about Ravenclaws was being thrown right out the window. Granted, there were a few other people that had been sorted there that were...questionable in terms of her understanding of the house. But Milton was...super intriguing.
Until he called her Miss Know-It-All and then she wrinkled her nose. "I suppose that is a better nickname than Dictionary Eater or St Kurumi," she grumbled as she removed her wand from her pocket and rolled her shoulders. Fine then. She WOULD. "Locomotor Locomotive," Kurumi commanded, waiting a few seconds as the train let out a few small puffs of steam before it began to slowly move across the top of the table.

Milton was getting irritated for some reason. Well, for lots of reasons. He was usually irritated with people to begin with, but it didn't help that Kurumi was smarter than him. And he had enough on his mind that certainly was not helping. SIGH.
"I'm sure it did." Eliminate the problem, that is. At least he hoped it did, because he didn't want to do this anymore.
Milton grabbed his wand again and tucked it into his robe before crossing his arms over his chest and slumping down into his seat. He glared at the train while Kurumi worked her magic. And look, it moved. Milton glared some more. "Well done, smarty pants," he grumbled quietly as the train moved around the track. Darn Gryffindors. Thought they were so COOL.
Ira herself took a deep breath and sighed. At least the train as showing some sign of being better. If the click could be considered as a sign of repair. But it should be. Something wrong must have gotten fixed on the inside.
Ira looked up from the train on her desk as Cassia commented on the bluebells charm. She liked it? "Um.. yeah! Its pretty cool!" Truth was, Ira had just remembered the spell she had read sometime ago. And was kinda surprised to see it worked the first time she cast it. But she wasn't about to tell that to the second year. So she just grinned in response.
"Come on! The spell together at three.." Ira kept her wand steady and nodded at the girl, "One, two.. three! Shoot!" Saying so, Ira muttered "Locomotor Train!" with a flick of her wrist. She looked towards Cassia, smile on her face, after hearing the train chortle and gargle, but finally seeing it move! Yes! Her train moved! Their train moved!!
"We did it Cassia!" Ira grinned in joy and raised her hand up for a high five! Come on! Time for a high five! "The train is moving!"
Sophie pondered about what West had just said about chizpurfles. If he were right, then it made a little sense. "I just don't know if the chizpurfles would have made all the enchantments on the train vanish as well." Could they stop it a huge magically moving train all of a sudden like that? "And it probably wouldn't have stopped like 'BAM! It stopped!'. If there were infestations, the train would start stopping slowly, no?"Thinking face.
Well, they both agreed that it was most likely to have been something on purpose. The train completely shut down and all the adults aboard looked worried, so it probably wasn't something like 'simple' infestations... right?
"I have never heard of such big portkey!" Could the portkey-making spell even work with such a large object? And then his next comment... bahahahaha! So Theodore-ish! No wonder they were good friends. "I highly doubt that." She said chuckling.
Sophie looked around the classroom for a bit, thinking of other possibilities. Since they had no idea what had made the train stop, they should think about a way to make it move again, at least. "Why do you think the adults couldn't make it move again?" The Locomotor spell should have worked just fine, no? Especially with aaaall of those grown ups around. "Even if a simple Locomotor spell didn't work, if all of the people that were allowed to perform magic did it at the same time, it would have been powerful enough to make it move again, don't you think?" Saying that, the badger looked at their mini train. She felt the urge to try the spell even though she was sure it wouldn't work.
But hey, a chance to practice spells was always welcome! Grabbing her wand again, she pointed it at their toy train. "Locomotor Locomotive!" Nufin. "Well." She shrugged and placed her wand back down on the desk.

As the two girls said the spell in unison on three the train toy made some inner sounds . Cassia guessed that the screeching was coming out from the just-fixed engine. She angled her neck so her ear was near the train . And the mini train rattled a bit then worked! Cassia grinned back at Ira. They did it. "Yup we did it." The second-year cheered.
She high-fived her partner beaming at her and at the moving train. Though the train was moving slower than the Professor's one. But it still worked, right?! Cassia mused at the toy train and the steam it produced. Eeeepp!. The snake moved aside as she was blocking Scabior's view or so she hoped. However, now she wanted their Professor to see the fixed train. And actually, she was afraid that the train might stop at any second because the engine was rattling and clicking. "Um…those sounds are normal right?" she wondered. Not like Ira was an expert but maybe she had an idea about engines and the sounds they make.
Cassia stood shifting her weight between her feet, hoping that Scabior will come and approve or disapprove. If he paid close attention he ,might notice that their train was slower but he said to fix it. And he didn't mention anything about the quality ,no? The Slytherin thought of going to his desk and urge him to come and see but then she thought better of it. No need to make him snap at her not when she was glad about the fixed. Though she kept a mental note of asking him about keeping the toy when the chance comes.

Grinning and sighing in relief that they were able to get the stubborn train top start moving again, Ira glanced at Cassia, and pondered over her question. Normal? Certainly not. No train moved so scratchily. The train did sound a bit cranky and creaky, but it was moving. That was what mattered. But still, maybe if they tried the spell again, everything could be fixed.
"Come on.. lets cast the same spell again together! But this time, specifically say Engine, alright?" Saying Ira first tore off one more small piece of parchment and casting the same spell again, moved and put it into the engine, providing more heat. Then, she pointed her wand at the engine, and then muttered the incantation, "Locomotor Engine!" hoping that Cassia was with her.

But were they just fixing the light or the whole train? Her excitement was lost. And she was annoyed again. "COME. on. STUPID. Traaaaain!" she cried, and she prodded the train, HARD, with her wand. A little spark came out, something it always did when Elliot was in a mood, and the train quickly was aflame...''MERLIN!" she shrieked...she pointed her wand at the part of the train that in flames.."Aqumenti!" she cried, and water shot out of her wand...it put out the fire...but she misjudged her aim a little bit...
And Hannah was now covered in...water. Elliot stifled a snort....but she couldn't help it..."I s-s-s-sorrrrry Hannah..." she choked out, laughing hysterically...
PAHAHAHA! XD
Whew! So it wasn't just Hannah's imagination. She was beginning to think that she was making herself see things because she wanted to be able to fix the train so bad.
She watched as Elliot tried the spell and sure enough the lights blinked again. This was good. They made it do something and something was better than nothing right? Still it was just a light and that seemed like a small accomplishment considering they were supposed to get the whole dang thing up and running.
Then Elliot whacked the train again with her wand. Hannah thought that after the first time of nothing happening that she would get a clue, but maybe something would happen this time since they did get a light to flicker on...
O_____O
"Elliot!" she set the bloody train on fire. Great...as if they weren't having a hard enough time trying to figure they train out, now they could add fire damage to the list. Hannah was just about to put the flames out but Elliot managed to beat her to it.
Before she even had a chance to react she was sprayed with water. "Really Morganzo?" Ugh! Hannah thought for a moment that her friend did it on purpose because how could she miss her target by that much? She was not going to freak out. She took her wand and dried herself off. "Perhaps glasses would be a good fit for you." she said trying to make light of the situation. It was an accident and she didn't need to bite her friends head off...again.
"Now what? Because Hannah had no idea and clearly reparo and whacking the train only did so much!

Elliot scowled...when Hannah snapped at her...really?! Elliot was already feeling VERY mediocre right...ELLIOT WASN'T MEDIOCRE! Gah! And the use of her last name...hmmph! Not in good fun this time. She honestly expected Hannah to react worse, though. Hehe!
And then she began to laugh...again..."Oh, come on, can you honestly imagine me with glasses? Never!" ever ever EVER. Glasses...no. Elliot preferred her blue eyes to be SEEN by everyone.
Now..what.
Elliot sighed. She was out of ideas...but her ears perked..had she just heard locomotive something? The blonde smirked..."Hannah...locomotor!! We're idiots." both of them. Why hadn't they been able to think of that? HOW EASY?! Gah! "But the only question remaining...which part of the train do we have to say?"
Elliot's keen sense of hearing came in handy, hmm?
