Chooooo choooo! The Hogwarts Express has arrived at last (or has it???). Either way, you're almost to Hogwarts, so get off the train and get going to the school!
First years, follow the groundskeeper to the lake. Second years and up, go for the horseless (thestral-led) carriages. Don't forget anything on the train, because you won't see it for another 9 months!

Cardigan felt like crying. She couldn't find Lily anywhere! Hadn't her friend just been here?? She didn't know. Plus, her face felt like it was on fire, and she was pretty sure something was broken! It kinda hurt to cry. If only the train hadn't broken down. If only there wasn't all the ministry people around. If only they didn't have to use portkeys. If only... It could go on forever. She had lots of things she could say about this trainride. It made her want to repeatedly bang her head on the wall, but that would make everything worse. WAYYYY worse. The last thing she needed right now was more pain. Same for everyone, really. She just, needed to find somebody who could help her. Quickly.

At hearing the Groundskeeper, he hiccuped and looked up. "D-d-does a possibly b-broken arm and p-p-possibly cracked ribs c-count...?" he asked, his breathing fast and shallow, making his ribs even worse.
At hearing a thump near him, he looked over and saw Alec. "Alec! Are....y-you...Are you o-o-okay?" he asked painfully, holding his ribs tighter.
NO. James-y was crying now. Alice stretched out a hand to pat his head, though she couldn't understand why he was crying. She had a broken leg, and she wasn't crying. Maybe it was just because James was much more sensitive than her? Or maybe she was a robot? Whatever. She still didn't like it when he cried. "I know. But it'll be better if you and Annie.. I mean, Anya.. get into a carriage and she can take you to the Healer." She knew Alec was plopped down next to her and that he probably didn't like seeing James leaning on Anya with his arms wrapped around her.. but it was necessary. She doubted Jake would like to handle the task of taking the sobbing James up to the Healer..
Though she figured that he would dislike it more if Anya handled that part.
SPOILER!!: Alec x3

That really was her! And she was waving at him and sitting on the ground and... why was she just sitting there and waving at him? Doesn't she want to get into a carriage and go to Hogwarts? There was a feast, after all.
But... he could meet her where she was. Yeah. And with this thought, the Hufflepuff stood up and... wobbled. Everything was such a blur! Why were people doing everything really quickly?! He looked down at his knees and gulped. Come on... he needed to get to Alice to make sure she was okay! Alec looked up and started wobbling over towards the blonde haired girl. Soon he'll get to sit down... soon.
Alec breathed a sigh of relief as he finally reached his friend and plopped down opposite her. That was... difficult. "Yeah... yeah, I mean... it's just a scrape, right?" All he needed were some plasters and then he'd be fine. But Alice... "Hulk, are you okay? Are you... hurt?" Please say no... please say no...
Was.. was Alec wobbling? His knees looked shaky. He needed some bandages. "If you ask Melanie," she said, motioning to her friend, ".. or Kurumi, they could probably heal that right up for you. I'd do it.. but I can't exactly reach my wand.." Without screaming, that was. And she wouldn't really like to burst her friend's eardrums with an earsplitting scream at the mo'. "Uhm.. yeah.. I have a broken leg.." she said quietly, wincing at the words. It was easier to pretend that it wasn't true when she wasn't repeating it forty times. "But I'll be fine.. I think." At least Alec was here now, yeah? Good thing. Alice could use a normal friend who wasn't worried. Even though she also loved her crazily worried friends.
Like Melanie.

But what confused Melanie more was how the girl was asking if Melanie was okay when it was CLEAR that the blonde was not.
Her brown eyes widened. ”I’m fine, Alice, you are definitely not fine,” Melanie said quickly, looking around. Where was that professor looking like person who had said something about help? It was clear that Alice needed help. Very clear.
Then there was that girl. And her cat. Melanie was distracted from what the elder girl was saying because the cat was rubbing against her leg. Melanie heard the word cookie but her stomach was too fluttery and tied up in uncomfortable knots to eat anything. The cat rubbing against her leg was actually a bit relaxing and she was going to bend down to pet the creature when it walked away.
Well, it was walking towards Alice, so that was good, right? Looking at Alice just sitting there though made Melanie so much more nervous. ”She’ll be alright, right?” Melanie asked nervously, her brown eyes darting around this place looking for Landon. “It’s just a broken leg?”
Oh, Alice’s leg was bandaged. She looked at the cat that moved away though with a slight frown. Couldn’t she cuddle it? It looked huggable or something and she really needed to hug something. Or someone. Melanie just really wanted a hug right now because this was definitely not how she envisioned starting Hogwarts. She was told it would be fun. Not horrifying. And Alice was being moved!
Melanie wanted to follow but she just stood there, unsure of what to do.
What did she do? Was she supposed to just stand there?

As the case was, however, it only made her feel more panicky on the inside. She didn't show it in her face - her eyes always lied though - and she swiftly made her way over with Elodie while offering that little one a reassuring squeeze. "I'm glad you and Gemini are alright," she whispered to the girl, mostly so she knew that Kurumi hadn't forgotten about her.
Violet eyes back on Alice for now, they widened and nearly popped out of her head when she said her leg was broken. BROKEN? Oh Merlin, yep...for sure Kurumi was not going to be able to fix this nor did she even want to try. Anyone remember what happened historically with a certain Lockhart? Yeah, knowing Kurumi and her tendencies to melt things on first goes with spells under pressure....just no.
"Um, here, have another cookie...all of you have a cookie if you want," she said as she passed them out to the group present. "No one is going to die," Kurumi said, trying to laugh it off. "Remember, Headmaster Tate gave us all the order not to do so." Or, well, the former Headmaster Tate did. He would always be Headmaster to Kurumi though - now they had a HeadMISTRESS and that was entirely different.
"I really don't want to move you, just in case we make things worse on accident," Kurumi said softly to Alice, glancing around and her violet eyes lying on the boy present. She didn't recognize him, but his arms looked sturdy enough... "Elodie, no one is getting anything chopped off," she said, her eyes snapping back to the girl and giving her hand another reassuring squeeze.
By this time, Walnut had jumped out of Kurumi's arms - seeing as she was preoccupied and not able to worship him properly anyway, and was now strutting over towards a young girl (iBeJenn) and rubbing himself up against her leg for a moment before strutting over towards Alice. Sure, he was a selfish cat at times, but he DID have a heart. And, well, this one had never upset him to the point that he wanted to pee on anyone, so love and comfort he gave as long as she scratched him behind the ears.
Kurumi's head snapped to when she heard the new Groundskeeper's booming voice. Right...accounted for. Kurumi was working on that and since Alice was no minor injury...it meant that they were going to have to move her.
Kurumi was suddenly reminded of Professor Zookara and his first aid lesson in her first term. Oh how she missed that man and his rubber ducks...
Still, Kurumi did NOT want to move Alice, but since she was being given no choice and seeing how crowded and insane the platform was...leaving her here was also dangerous. "Okay, Alice, hold still for a moment while I get a bandage on you." Kurumi removed her wand from her robe's pocket and swooshed it over the young lioness' leg. "Inurio Bani," she whispered as a large bandage was conjured out of the air and wrapped itself around her leg for added support. "Try not to move that leg at all...or either of your legs, okay? Let us carry you over to the Groundskeeper."
Us. Yes. Us. Her eyes darted to the boy again. "Can you take her under the arms?"
Kurumi took a crouching position by Alice's legs, more around her quads than feet because that would only cause more damage. If something was going to go wrong with moving the Gryffindor, Kurumi wanted the blame to be put on her and not the others. "On three, one...two...." And Kurumi began to lift up on Alice until she was holding her at a comfortable height. "You alright?" she asked, her eyes darting around when she saw two Hufflepuffs seeming to be in some distress as well.
"Bliss, Glenn," Kurumi called while Walnut wove around her feet. "Go see the Groundskeeper about that wrist!" Or, well, mostly Bliss...but Glenn could go with her for support...or if she was hurt too. Kurumi hadn't really heard the entire conversation.
And THEN the Groundskeeper was asking for Prefects to get their housemates together. Well, first things first....and that was getting Alice to him. Waddling along with the small girl tucked into her arms - sorry Elodie, we had to let go of your hand for this - Kurumi approached the Groundskeeper and glanced over her shoulder.
"Sir, I managed a simple bandage on her leg, but she thinks it is broken," Kurumi explained as she continued to hold Alice's legs a little higher in the air. Kurumi would put Alice down, but if they just needed to pick her back up again it would only increase the chance for more injury...right?
See, this was why Kurumi was NOT going to be a Healer...at least not for people.
"No, no, I AM fine," she said, waving away Melanie's concern. Her friend was probably more worried that Alice was, but she didn't want her to be. She didn't like it when Mel was scared, 'cause SHE was the mature one. But Melanie seemed to be enjoying the presence of the cat. He was absolutely adorable. What was his name, Peanut? no, no, it was.. Walnut, she thought. Alice was very fond of cats. Especially pretty ones like Kurumi's. "You're a pretty kitty, aren't you?" she asked, cooing and rubbing the ickle think behind it's ears. She pulled the cat down next to her and pet it repeatedly. This one was as pretty as Penelope's.
OHYAY. Kurumi was offering her more cookies! Alice gingerly took one and popped it into her mouth. Mhmm. She would break her leg a thousand more times if it meant more of her Hogwarts Momma's cookies. But if she said something like that, Kurumi would probably have a panic!blush!attack, so she decided to keep her mouth shut. "My leg's not getting chopped off? I'm not going to die?!" YAY. Finally. SOME good news. "Awesome. I like my leg. And my life." Very much, thank you. Take a note of that, God, please do.
And then.. Kurumi was bandaging her legs? The bandage was made for support and was rather right. Alice couldn't help but let out a teeny cry of pain. "OOWWWWW." Okay. So. Not very teeny. But it did hurt quite a bit. And it was very awkward. Especially when Kurumi and Jake picked her up and stole her away from Alec and Melanie and James and Anya and Penelope. She especially wanted her Princess right now. "MELANNIE. NUUU." She grabbed onto Melanie's hand and dragged her alongside of the awkward group shuffle over to the Groundskeeper, only releasing her when they reached him. Kurumi was holding her under one arm, Jake under the other, and her legs were dangling awkwardly. Kurumi took her over to the Groundskeeper.. and.. wow, this was embarrassing. Most of the school was here and could probably see her hoisted up in the air.
She really hoped her friends couldn't see this.

A simple movement of his wand and a stretcher appeared, floating beside the two girls. "Lay her down on that." Another small movement and he conjured a splint as well. "I'm not that great at healing so I think it's better I leave it up to the Healer." Perhaps someone should get her down here. It would help if he knew where she was. "Can you put the splint on for me?" he asked raising his eyebrows at her.
Ahh. A stretcher. So Alice could lie down? YAY. She wanted a good long nap. She definitely needed to block everything out.. the scariness of the dark, abandoned train and the portkeys and the broken leg and the creepy wombat that belonged to the Groundskeeper. But she couldn't do that just yet. The man had conjured an odd looking device that looked like it was supposed to fit on a foot. And.. what?! Kurumi-cookie was supposed to PUT that on her?!
"Uhm.. what is that thing? Is it gonna hurt?" Was this the treatment Headmaster Redhead was talking about?! Was that device going to cut her open and dissect her insides?! NUUU. She wasn't going to be dissected. She had promised herself. "It looks creepy. I don't wanna put it on. Is it safe? Are you sure I'm supposed to?" She looked at Kurumi, her eyes wide and questioning. She wasn't going to put it on unless Kurumi said it was okay.

Hops had planned on making it to the Platform a bit earlier to meet the train full of students and his fellow Board of Governors but had gotten a little held up at the Broomsticks because of a few over-indulged patrons asking for another round. But now that the pub was locked up, Harold Lagerty was now at the Platform and....kids were bleeding and such.
Great.
"What in Merlin's Beard is going on here?" He walked into the crowd of kids, pets and luggage and came up to the only adult he could see. The groundskeeper, the sign said, it seemed however that things were beginning to be taken care of.
So to the carriages? "Older students why don't we go ahead and begin making our way to the carriages, right? A nice warm dinner will hit the spot right?" And butterbeer that he had sent up that afternoon to wash it down.

"Oh that game...no...I couldn't get to see it..." and the reason behind that was really stupid too. "Daddy doesn't trust me to go to the games that have the potential to be contre...contro....controversial..." was that the word he used? She shrugged. "When he got home he said it was a good thing I didn't go because I probably would have thrown something at the Umpire man." and after hearing how the match went she couldn't help but agree with him. She didn't have the patience for idiots who made bad calls.
Watching the girl fiddle with her bag was just a little disracting. After a while she spoke up about that. "Did your bag get messed up during the whole train mess?" She didn't know what had become of her luggage. The most she knew was that Felix was safely in her arms.
She hoped nothing broke...that would have been a little annoying.
:: Ganymede sighed, "It's an old bag. I guess that was just that last straw for it." She played with the frayed part. "I understand what you mean by getting controversial. I listened to the game at home since we have a subscription for QNL (Quidditch National League) radio and ended up throwing my dinner plate through a window. My parents weren't too pleased." She laughed at the thought of her chicken and peas all over the patio with broken glass, then the look on her Father and Mother's faces.
"I can't wait to fly a broom." It was an invitation to talk more about things quidditch and flying. ::

Seriously they need a lesson in how to travel by portkey.
How to land would be a good start.
"Just keep her comfortable in your arms. She likes to be cuddled." He should have brought her blanket with him but he hadn't been expecting this when he had come down to the station.
As an after thought though, Sebastian pulled out a stick from his pocket and held it out to Angel. "If she gets too restless give her this gnaw on."
And where had that girl gone with his dog. It was obvious he should have left the pets back at the hut.

Wombats were officially adorable, she thought giggling a bit as she held the wombat as best as she could stroking its fur a bit like she did while she was holding her cat... only the wombat was a tad bigger than her cat!
"You're just soooo adorable aren't you?" Annie asked the wombat, not feeling too self conscious about speaking to her... it could've been a lot stranger... like if she started randomly talking to herself! While cuddling the cute little wombat in her arms, and trying her best to ignore the headache that really wasn't being helped by the giggling that she'd done before she noticed someone else who she hadn't met before but he'd also been called over by the Groundskeeper so she figured he must also be a first year.
"Hi, I'm Angel... who are you?" she suddenly asked, feeling the need to speak to someone possibly her age, and not a wombat... yes, that might make her look a bit saner!
THIS CAT. WAS TOO CUTE. Ameliah pet the kitten happily, smiling widely.
Ameliah looked up at Adam. "Yeah?" But then Ronnie came back, and obviously he didn't want to say in front of Rons. Ameliah glanced at her Gryffie friend concernedly if thats a word. "Feel a little better?"

HIS TOY MOUSE WAS MISSING!
"Uh...I think Oliver dropped his toy mousie somewhere on the platform here..." she said. "I'm gonna go look. You two stay here." she said with a nod, walking off.
Okay. Where was the toy mouse? She sighed, looking around. "Do ya see him anywhere, Oliver?" she asked the kitten in her arms as she continued looking around.
THANKYOURONNIE.
Now Adam and Ameliah were alone again and he could ask her with out risk of embarrasment. "So uh..." he was suddenly aware that he and Ameliah were holding each other, and he swallowed. "I was wondering... d'you... wanna, like... go out?" GULP.

"Oh, yes. I am quite alright. Um, well apart from which way to the boats?" Robert asked, wanting to get out of the way of the people popping onto the platform all over the place. He was just fine, having travelled via portkey a lot as a young boy in a wizarding family.

"I would give you help with the charm but to be honest, i'll probably blow up the whole platform if i tried..." he did not even laugh at this and actually looked very serious. He remembered the last time he tried to help and a huge hole had been on the grounds at school... And the angry Professor Bentley scolding at him O__o yup, he was not going to help with magic but the muggle way.
He looked at the carriages and with his other hand in which he still held Mr.Duckles in , he pointed to them. "Let's go to those black horses that are pulling the carriages" he said with a giggle as he just witnessed Sierra fall down two times before he saw her heading to the carriages.
Juliet has never been took care like this by a schoolmate, because she's not much of an accident-prone. The only time you would see her trip is... occasionally, like this. So it's definitely a nice feeling to have someone offer a helping hand. She liked it. Her head was still resting on his shoulder when he replied about how he wanted to help but then he'll end up blowing it. Quickly, Juliet's head turned to him. Her eyes widened but then a smirk was found on her lips.
Blow up???? That's not good but at the same time it sounds really hilarious, well to her. She let out a small laugh but then seeing as he looked serious about it, Juliet immediately stopped and covered her mouth with her free hand "Oh, you were serious..." she looked down as she bit her lower lip. Smooth Juliet.
Let's go to those black horses that are pulling the carriages
Black horses? Juliet cocked her head to the side as she stared at the empty carriage. Her eyes flickered as she looked at Daichi. "Uhmm, thestral..." she whispered, enough for him to hear it "You can see them" he did but she didn't. Which only meant one thing and one thing only, he saw someone died already. Intrigued by this, however, Juliet is not going to ask him though. This topic may be personal to him and completely private. So instead, Juliet just nodded her head and smiled at Daichi.

"Hi. I'm Indy."
Juliet took a few steps with Daichi hoping with one leg, when all of a sudden a girl came up to Daichi and even mentioned his name. Juliet looked at the girl and then glanced back at Daichi. Reaching up, to feel her nose, she realized that, yep, it had indeed worked. "Thank you!" she exclaimed again, hugging the prefect briefly before hurrying off to find a carriage.
"There..." Gideon stated as the spell went to work and her nose appeared to be all fixed. "Yer wel--" He started to say as she thanked him, a bit taken back by the hug. "--come," the prefect finished as she rambled off towards the carriages on her own obviously no longer needing assistance. One good deed done.

And meanwhile she was playing babysitter to an uninjured boy and his cat. Ugh.
"You should help. That's what you do when you see people who need assistance, you know?"
Free once more, Gideon moved to return to Genevieve and the other two. Everything seemed okay as he approached however his fellow seventh year was calling out another boy for not helping. The Slytherin captain. Well of course...the groundskeeper had already called out Sierra and Kennedy for being too absorbed to assist their fellow students, why shouldn't the last piece of the trio do the same? And to think one was the head boy.
"Anything going on?" he asked looking between one and the other almost as if not hearing the exchange. "The name of the game is helping students...injured and not...to carriages." The prefect motioning as he moved to where there were still thestral-drawn carriages waiting
Gideon finally looked back to the blonde with nothing against her seeing as she was being helpful and not even a leader, completely new to the school. "As for debt...take it up with Selina."
Then the proprietor he reconized from last term made an appearance and instructed students, especially the older ones. That's right he was one of the governors as well. "Doing just that Mr. Lagerty," Gideon said remembering the man's name from what had happened. "Ye heard the man..." he added, returned to leading his group of injured students where they needed to go.

Alexa looked up and saw another girl coming towards her. "Oh..ummm, yes I think I'm fine." She looked herself over to make sure she was really fine. Then she looked at the girl knowing she should ask the girl the same question, "Did you fall or am I just the dumb one that can't land from a port key?" Trying to smile she looked again around at all the confusion. Shaking her head, "Does stuff like this always happen? Do you know where we are suppose to be going?"
FINALLY! Her feet had touched the ground as her knees buckled slightly in the process, leaving that empty space she was treading a while ago.
Meh.
Bye-bye frizbee.
Meh.
Where are you going Davinci? The cat had somehow escaped her grasp and had jumped off to the ground, sniffing the ground. "Davinci, you're....a cat not...a....a dog." Beezus uttered, a hand clutching her pounding head.
It was a good thing knowing she was already on land. The only side effect was that she was so dizzy, vision clouded, and completely befuddled by every moving creature around her. So this is how a Portkey ride felt like, huh? Yeah, preferred floo powder...and brooms. With a sigh and a somewhat obstructed sight, she took a step towards the carriages. Okaaaay, she wasn't about to faint or anything, it seems. But she needed to take it one step at a time.
:: Ganymede eavesdropped on the other first years conversations. Yes, this was being a nebnose, but she wanted to gauge the situation before barging in with the introductions. Her back was turned and she was utilizing the spy sunglasses.
How does one manage to hurt themselves using a portkey?, Ganymede tsk'd as she though this and shook her head. Then she turned around to get a better look at the group. There was a boy and a couple of girls.
The group seemed friendly enough, Ganymede cracked a smile and decided to make some sort of effort.
"Hey." She nodded a hello toward the first year boy. Ganymede always thought boys were easier to befriend than girls. Girls could be so cliquey. ::
:: "Ah geez, yell a little louder, the dead may have not heard you!" She quipped back under her breath as she adjusted the purple bag on her hip. The strap was slipping and that was irritating her. If she could get her hands on some thread and needle, she could fix it quick.
She decided to follow the group she was trying to make some small talk with. ::

"That's so coool!" Her eyes only seemed to get wider with excitement . "Will we get to see it when we're crossing the lake? Is it like man-eating or something? Has anyone tried feeding someone else to it as yet?' All very important questions that she figured she would voice before they got on the lake.
If the thing really did surface then she wanted to be well informed so she wouldn't have to keep asking questions. That way she could fully focus on he squid!
Standing just behind Dylan she could see a girl that had on...sunglasses maybe...
How odd. The sun had pretty much set by now so why would she have kept those on. For a moment she stared at the girl but quickly averted her gaze when the girl suddenly turned so she was facing Dylan. Staring was wrong so she didn't want the girl knowing she was doing it.
Just barely she heard the girl make a smart remark; she liked her already.
When the girl said hi to Dylan she took this as her invitation to admit the girl into the conversation. Putting on a smile she decided to give it a try. "Hello!" Good and now that that casual word had been tossed out. "I'm Alexa, and you are?" It wasn't said in any rude tone...no...those were saved for specific people.
Just then she heard another girl saying her name. She whipped around and saw yet another girl she knew. "Angel, hi!" She said, giving the girl a little hug. She remembered her and her brother...which reminded her. "Where's your brother?" Oh but she should answer her question before expecting answers to her own. "Oh no, not really, what about you? And I was pretty much everywhere on the train...kinda had a hard time staying one place for too long." Now, wasn't that the truth. That ride was much too long for her to hope to sit still for too long.

He smiled as she giggled at what he had said regarding her talking about an older student she knew who conducted a perfect landing "Yeah we are! " ok so they were still going along with that belief that they would be Ravenclaws.. well it was fun to do that! he chuckled as she gave him a wink. He nodded "Yeah exactly! Ronnie laughed at what Adam said and shrugged at Ameliah's question. "Well, the sick feeling is gone. But my head still hurts real bad." she said as she gently took back Oliver and kissed his forehead. "You doing alright, sweetheart?" she asked, squeezing him tightly. She then realized something:
HIS TOY MOUSE WAS MISSING!
"Uh...I think Oliver dropped his toy mousie somewhere on the platform here..." she said. "I'm gonna go look. You two stay here." she said with a nod, walking off.
Okay. Where was the toy mouse? She sighed, looking around. "Do ya see him anywhere, Oliver?" she asked the kitten in her arms as she continued looking around.

Ameliah smiled at Ronnie and gave her back the >AMAZING< kitten. "Yeah, go and find it!" she agreed and watched her go.
She was suprised at what Adam asked. "Um." It seemed the only thing she could say for a while. After she recovered from the shock, Ameliah grinned. "Of course!" Adam was really great and sweet, so why not?

Free once more, Gideon moved to return to Genevieve and the other two. Everything seemed okay as he approached however his fellow seventh year was calling out another boy for not helping.
Oh. Gryffindor-Wonder.
Dylan turned his attention briefly towards the Prefect before rolling his eyes dramatically. He was NOT in the mood.
"Calm down, Gilly."

And all of a sudden he was surrounded and Sebastian blinked a couple of times. Some of the kids seemed just fine but others looked a litlte worse for wear. He gave the youngsters a smile. "Yes I am the Groundskeeper. Mr Gibbins is my name. Are you all okay?"
This was so weird but he had not time to think about what had happened to the train. He had to make sure to get all the first years together and to the castle. And to make sure everyone else was alright.
"First years over to the Groundskeeper please. Which is me." Just in case they didn't get that. Or somehow hadn't manage to see the sign.
"Prefects please make sure all students are accounted for. Attend to those who seem to have minor injuries. Anyone suffering anything serious, bring them to me." Hopefully they weren't too serious. He knew enough healing to get by but not enough to really be effective.
Pao was startled as the man at the center of their first year group began to speak. Groundskeeper, eh? It was good to start making a mental list of the staff members. The sooner he learned their names the better. Gibbins, the man had told another student.
Gazing around, he noticed that the Groundskeeper had a point. People were bleeding and bruised. Wow, that train didn't halt THAT fast.. Some people must just have terrible balance or something. This coming from one of the clumsiest people on earth.
She beamed when he started laughing again. This was good because it meant that he hadn't been put off by all her questions. For some reason some adults found her questions unbearable and would make any excuse to get her to go away.
Oooooo...."So then you're a shiny Ground's Keeper." It made sense. When something was new it was usually very shiny from lack of use. She stared at the shiny ground's keeper for a moment before giving her exact views on him being as new as she was. "And you being new makes you kinda like me!! Maybe we'll both see the squid then we won't be able to say we don't know much about it." She would have suggested throwing one of the kids in to test whether or not it really was man-eating but uh...she decided against that...
Oh he was shiny. Sebastian wasn't too sure about that but he was happy to take her compliment. It was nice having the kids like him. "Yeah I guess it does." Well she was new and he was new so yeah they were kinda the same. Only he was about thirty years older than her.
"I like your thinking."

Sebastian didn't get angry often. Okay he never got angry but seeing some of these older students, wearing badges no less, just walk on by and not help out, well that made him bristle just a little.
"OI YOU!" he called out, his eyes narrowing at the arrogrant young man. "GET BACK HERE AND HELP OUT YOUR FELLOW STUDENTS." If you want the perks of wearing the badge then you need to take the responsibility that comes with it also.
And Sebastian had also noted the other Slytherin badge holder that had landed on the platform only moments earlier. He was definitely talking to the Headmistress about this.

But she couldn't do that just yet. The man had conjured an odd looking device that looked like it was supposed to fit on a foot. And.. what?! Kurumi-cookie was supposed to PUT that on her?!

It was a good thing Sebastian was a very patient man otherwise he might have lost it by now. "It's not going to hurt. It's just going to keep your leg still that's all." He could understand why she would be scared especially if she had never seen the muggle contraption before. "Calm down. Take a few deep breaths and relax.
Kurumi slowly lowered Alice to the ground, giving the other girl a reassuring smile as she did so. "She is going to be just fine," Kurumi nodded before giving Walnut a quick glance and nodding her head towards the other girl who was standing there. Walnut could be mean...but he wasn't heartless.
Nodding her head a little more obviously at her cat, the feline understood this silent signal (surprise!) and waddled his stubby legged self over to the girl and began to rub up against her leg again - putting on a show that he actually cared about her concern. "I think he wants to comfort you," Kurumi said softly.
Her attention was back on the Groundskeeper when he spoke and her heart somewhat sunk. HE didn't know what to do either? Or, well, he did but didn't. "Yes, I think I can sir," she nodded as she accepted it from him and turning her attention back to Alice.

Only to see Milton scampering off in the distance... "OI!" Kurumi shouted, taking a note from Selina. "Milton, grab some students before you take off!"
He DID have a badge on after all - even if the word didn't start with a P.

Now that Alice was on the stretcher, Kurumi held the splint over her leg and was just about to slip it on her and tie it securely when Alice began to panic slightly. Offering yet another cookie, Kurumi began to talk while she worked. She needed to get this on and fast. "It's not going to hurt. You might feel a little uncomfortable at first, but this is going to help keep your leg from getting worse. They are made to keep you stable to decrease pain and prevent further injury. I've worn one loads of times," Kurumi explained, splint on her leg now and her fingers moving quickly over the ties. "Kendo injuries and mostly on my arms and wrists. You've outdone me." Lame joke, but she needed to keep Alice distracted while she tied all these ties.
Tightening the last one to hold the splint in place, Kurumi slowly removed her hand. "How does that feel?"

And then Kurumi's attention was elsewhere when one of the Hogsmeade shopkeepers arrived. What was going on? Did moderate chaos count as an answer? "We all just arrived by portkey, sir. The Hogwarts Express...broke down." Or something. Kurumi really wasn't sure what happened. Was anyone? What happened to Mr. Shifty?
At his next request, Kurumi looked back at Alice. "Alice, you are going to be fine. The Groundskeeper will look after you. I'm going to take Melanie towards the carriages now and we will see you at the feast." Kurumi's eyes somewhat bore into the young lioness in attempt to show her her sincerity.
Which was also when she offered her hand towards the other girl, the one Walnut had HOPEFULLY been distracting during all this.

Nodding, he glanced around again, looking for his girlfriend. Grinning lopsidedly he saw the look she gave about those portkeys. "If ye stay here I'll help ye te a carriage if ye want. I want te see if I can find Amelia. And hopefully Nell and Ed te."
He needed to go find Amelia, after making sure that Ronnie was okay and her kitten Isaac went to move again and nearly jumped out of his trainers when someone slipped their arm through his. Relaxing when he realized whose touch it was he took a deep breath and looked down at her, "There ye are. Are ye alright?"
He knew he should be helping others around the platform but with finally finding Amelia...or rather her finding him, he was more relieved she was there! "Did ye get hurt?"
He'd not had a chance to ask back on the train not when the train stopped suddenly nor when they'd all crowded into carriages to find seats to grab the portkeys and appear here!
"I'm fine," Amelia assured him quietly, tightening her grip slightly. She knew that she should pull herself upright and see if she could help any other students who were injured, but she figured that clinging to Isaac for a little before doing that would be alright.
"But, you know, I think I really do hate trains," she informed him, giggling slightly hysterically. She'd hated having to be on the train before the lights had gone out and it had jolted to a stop. After that had happened though, and with the mass of confused students her thoughts about train travel weren't exactly high. Neither was her opinion on portkeys. She was lucky she hadn't done anything to her ankle, although, if she was looking at it, it did seem slightly swollen. Maybe she should poke it to see? But that would require bending down, and letting go of Isaac. So yeah, she wasn't going to check.
"How about you? Are you okay? And your friend?" she asked after a few minutes of simply staring at what seemed to be swelling. Because she was worried about Isaac, she knew that. And while she didn't really know the girl he'd been talking too as she walked up behind him she'd heard enough of the conversation to know they were friends, and that she was obviously hurt somehow.
Ariana Stood and rubbed her ribs which she hurt on the train when she was thrown forward from the stop "Faye?" she called for the little girl she was with as her ribs seemed to hurt more.. 'traveling by portkey was a bad idea.' she looked around to see if she saw anyone she knew

"The Slytherin gentleman was just offering to help, and the Hufflepuff on the ground was going to apologize for being a faker. And then we were all going to skip off to the carriages like the end of some terribly old-fashioned Muggle movie. I believe there will be a singing number, if you stick around."
Too much sarcasm? Yes. She dialed it back and smiled at Gideon, albeit faintly. "That's sad, though, Gert. I don't want to check in with Selina when I'm trying to deal with you. You have to ask permission to play with others?"

Milton turned around and saw a rather angry man with some kids YELLING at him. BAH. HE JUST WANTED FOOD, DANG IT. Milton sighed dramatically and dragged his feet back over to the crowd of whiny, lonesome children that were SO overreacting. SIGH.
SPOILER!!: Kurumi

He DID have a badge on after all - even if the word didn't start with a P.
And then SHE decided he needed to be yelled at TOO. "I KNOW, I KNOW, I'M GOING, YOU DIDN'T EVEN GIVE ME COOKIES!" Which meant she didn't deserve to yell at him. SO THERE.
More sighing. What has she gotten herself into?
Step.
Step.
Step. Step. Step.
Milton's hunger was making his patience wear VERY thin. It was obvious that he did not want to help anyone to the carriages, but he didn't really want to get yelled again either. So he found the nearest student that was actually normal (as far as he knew) and approached her. "Beezus, right? You okay?" She certainly didn't LOOK it. It kind of looked like she was going to topple over any minute.
SPOILER!!: Groundskeeper C:

Alice was saying she was fine. Was the girl unaware of the fact that she was the one sitting on the ground with a broken leg?! How could Queen Alice say she was fine?! Melanie’s eyes just widened. ”But you’re not!” she protested. And she was pretty sure someone else would back her up on this. A broken leg was definitely not fine. Ever. A person was fine when they were all completely in one piece with nothing broken or bruised. She bit her lip, watching Alice pet the cat and then winced when she heard Alice let out that cry of pain or something.
Because it sounded really painful. Melanie was just going to stand there and wait but Alice had grabbed her hand. Gripping Alice’s hand, she followed, trying to keep up and not run into anyone as Alice was being carried over to the man.
There was a stretcher and a splint. That was never good. It was like… going to the hospital or something. Didn’t the man know some spells or something that could heal Alice? But it relaxed Melanie when the elder girl said that Alice would be fine. And the cat was rubbing against her leg again. The cat was definitely calming Melanie down a lot though… It was fuzzy… in a way. Like her teddy bear buried at the bottom of her bag. Melanie winced again though, when she watched the girl put the splint on Alice.
Alice was going to be fine. Queen Alice would definitely be fine, right? Of course. It was a broken leg… broken legs healed and no one would have to carry the younger girl to the castle. Wait – what? They would see her at the feast? Wasn’t Alice coming with them? Melanie bit her lip and looked at the elder’s girl outstretched hand.
“I’ll see you at the feast, Queen Alice, be careful,” Melanie said, pulling her blanket out of her bag and covering the younger girl. “Be warm, it might get cold,” she added. Because she didn’t want Queen Alice to catch a cold AND have a broken leg. Melanie took the girl’s hand and glanced at the blonde, then looked at the cat. “Let’s go kitty,” she said to the cat.
