Chooooo choooo! The Hogwarts Express has arrived at last (or has it???). Either way, you're almost to Hogwarts, so get off the train and get going to the school!
First years, follow the groundskeeper to the lake. Second years and up, go for the horseless (thestral-led) carriages. Don't forget anything on the train, because you won't see it for another 9 months!
Noah was finnally off to hogwarts! Sortta. he walked on over to the grounds keeper who was waiting for them.
Jen saw that her brother looked so exited to be in hogwarts. Ha, why would he not be? It IS the most awesome school ever.
She scanned around looking for the carages.

And ooof. She was the platform. "Not as fun as expected..." She murmured as she rubbed at her hair. That was not a fun experience. She felt a little dizzy too. She preferred the train a lot. She took a step forward, looking around for someone she recognized. Ahh! She saw Daichi. She knew Daichi! "Daichi!" She smiled, wandering over to him. Oh. She noticed that he was with someone. "Oh hi..." She mused with a smile. She didn't know this person. Maybe she wouldn't have come over. Maybe Daichi had a new friend.
"Hi. I'm Indy."

Gideon felt the familiar pull of the portkey as it activated and vanished him from the compartment. It was a rocky journey and certainly not one he had planned on to start the school term off, but thankfully it was a short trip. He was dropped off on the platform landing with another umph but managing to unsteadily keep his feet using his broom as a balancing rod.
That was close...a semi-graceful entrance
Gaining his bearings once he was settled back fully on his feet, the prefect looked around to the students already there, looking for familiar faces as well as those who had been in the prefect's compartment with him. Surely he hadn't been the only one to head out of there. He could have sworn at least Louisa had followed along after him.
"Everyone okay?" Gideon called out to those nearby checking on the younger students in case there were any mishaps on the way or even beforehand. Time to switch into full prefect mode.

THUD!!!
"Owww..." Lex muttered, more to herself than the others once she landed butt first. Ugh...what just happened...? She felt like she had been turned over and over...and over then hit in the head with a shovel or something.
She looked down into her arms at the knea cat that was groaning ever so softly as it tried to get it's bearings. Poor thing must have felt as awful as herself. She sat perfectly still for a moment and squeezed her eyes shut in an attempt to get rid of the rising nausea but was soon dragged from her thoughts by Abby asking if she was alright. Her eyes opened slowly and she looked over at her. "Yeah, I guess...I never want to do that again..." See, if they had ridden a dragon then none of this would have happened.
She followed the girl's gaze around the platform and saw that others had arrived as well. They didn't seem to enjoy the keys either.
"I was wondering the same thing...I'm Alexa by the way..." In all that had happened it only now occurred to her that she hadn't given her her name. She looked over at her again. "Where are we?"

Nate saw someone ask if everyone was alright. Judging by there niceness, and the fact that they have a badge means that the is a prefect. Yay! Someone who could help me! He thought to himself. Then he raised his good hand and said "I could use some help over here please." Signaling the prefect. (Macavity aka Gideon). Hopefully he would see his hand in the air.

He hadn't been used to this after all seeing as he had thought that train was to take the students to Hogwarts and not just break down half way through the trip, at least it looked like people had arrived safely; which had brought about the question of where Kendall was, he hadn't seen his friend since he left the compartment and wandered the train which made him wonder if she had got through safely. It wasn't going to be entirely worried about now as he had approached a carriage that seemed to be led by nothing, hmm.. perhaps it was something that not everyone could see which could have explained everything. But, now it was a matter of waiting to find out what was next.
Note to self: never travel by portkey again, Kendall thought, as she'd crashed to the ground in a heap, orange tabby still with his claws stuck in to her tshirt in one arm. The only good part of the whole thing was that she hadn't dropped the bag of chocolate bars she'd stolen from Patrick's trunk before touching the bear. Other than that, all she learned was that Accio really didn't like the spinning sensation from a portkey, and that she couldn't hold onto him, focus on getting wherever it was she was going, and try to eat any of the chocolate. She just had to hope there weren't any holes in her tshirt now, since she still didn't quite trust that all their trunks would get to the castle safely. Either way, she pried her cat's claws from her, letting him drop to the ground as she finally was able to stick her free hand into the bag to retrieve a chocolate bar. And she finally got to look around at her surroundings, noticing that at least it looked like she had ended up in Hogsmeade. There was who she assumed was the new groundskeeper rounding up the firsties, and the creepy carriages for the rest of them. So at least they'd gotten where they'd been going safely, even if she still didn't know where her trunk would end up.
Finally standing up, she leaned over and scooped her kitty up again as she decided to head for the carriages. Munching on the chocolate bar as she went, even though she'd half-shoved the rest of the bag in one of her jeans pockets. Hopefully the rest wouldn't melt that quickly. It wasn't exactly really warm outside. In fact, she was kind of glad to have the kitty warmth near her body as she got nearer and found Patrick waiting there. Another mystery solved, plus he wasn't hiding. "Accio doesn't like portkeys," she informed him as she stopped next to the carriage he was standing outside, taking another bite of chocolate. She could tell him everything that had happened in the compartment later.

Kennedy landed on the platform on his feet, luckily. He rubbed his eyes while he regained his bearings. He still wasn't used to traveling by portkey, though he had not minded this summer, heh.
He glanced around to make sure students were fine...well, as fine as they could be. It was like if it was raining students. "Is everyone fine?" he asked, his eyes lingering on some students to make sure there were no injuries.
What an interesting way to begin this term, eh?
Kennedy noticed a man standing nearby with a sign. Hmm. He guessed that was either their new grounskeeper or another professor. Either way, he was an adult...with a sign. "All first years please direct yourselves toward..." Um, Kennedy didn't know the man's name. "...the man with the sign. The rest, please, head toward the carriages," and get the heck away from here.
Then he saw her...

UGHHHHHHH.
She scrambled back to her feet...just in time for Hissy Fit, her kneazle, to land on her back and knock her back down again. She shoved the kneazle away and stood up, glaring around the platform and daring anyone to laugh at her.
Grumbling under her breath, she scooped up the kneazle and headed for the carriages. See, this is why she should have just walked to school. She lived in Hogsmeade, after all.
"Hey, Sierra, wait up," he called, jogging after her. That's when he saw them. The usually horse-less carriages were being pulled by thestrals. He's only read about them and...well, now he could see them. Kennedy shook his head and blinked several times. Merlin.

Elodie was just the tiniest bit paler than she had been seconds before. She was pretty damn sure she was going to witness this girl die, and at twelve years old..witnessing two deaths was a hard thing, right!? So, if the girl was going to die, Els would rather not be here. Or atleast able to cover her eyes, or hide her face in Lady Kurumi's arm. "Are you sure?" She mumbled, reaching a hand out quickly and moving some of the girls own hair. Just to make sure the girl looked presentable if she did die. "A BROKEN LEG?! OH MY... SOMEONE... OH OH OH! SHE'S GOT A BROKEN LEG! WE NEED TO CHOP IT OFF." Totally, Elodie.
Totally.
What was wrong with Elodie? Oh. Turning around a little bit, Els wiggled her bottom and smiled coyly as she turned back to her original position, leaning back into Kurumi. "I landed on it. But I wont die." For now.

Gideon heard someone mention help and looked around over the heads of a lot of the crowd, finally spotting a hand waving a few feet away. The seventh year made his way over, spotting a young Hufflepuff who seemed like he might not have had the greatest of landings. "Hey...what seems to be the problem?" he asked to try and get a general thought on what was up.

She could tell him everything that had happened in the compartment later.
Waiting around the carriage was oddly giving him the creeps since Patrick wasn't able to tell what it was that was leading them to the castle, nothing was there which was rather strange. Hmm.. what's the one creature that is invisible to most people? I should know this after all, it's pretty obvious. That thought rattled his brain as he had reached into his messenger bag and taken out a few licorice wands that he had picked up on the train, then chewed one a bit as he managed to come up with the answer. It was thestrals, the only ones who could have seen them had experienced death and he hadn't been through that although he wasn't sure he wanted to either. On a completely random note, the worries about what had happened to Kendall had returned; he didn't want to find out something bad had happened to his friend that he could have stopped if he stayed in the compartment, but he hadn't wanted to stay at the time. It truly was frustrating since he had wanted to know that she was alright but somehow he'd been too afraid of what he could have found. Besides the orders were to head to the carriages and for once, he was going to listen.
He seemed to get lost in his thoughts of all the what if situations and knew that he was supposed to be a superhero which meant there wasn't time to be scared. They were supposed to be brave and that's what he was going to be, even if he couldn't focus on anything but the worries. As soon as he heard a voice beside him, he had snapped out of his thoughts to see his friend was safe; taking a deep breath that he hadn't known he was holding. There wasn't a need to worry anymore. "Well I didn't either, Orion was alright but I ended up scraping my knees on the train. I was worried about you.. erm.. thought something bad had happened." His voice trailed off as he had finished off the licorice wand that was already half eaten before starting another.
"Ummmm, well as you could probably tell from my hand the back of my head is bleed. Thanks to falling on a rock. Also I think my arm is broken." He replied pointing at his arm with his good hand. This year is not going so good for Nate right now. First this what next he can't play quidditch?! If he could play quidditch thanks to that stupid tennis racket portkey Nate was going to be so mad! It wouldn't even be funny. Nate had to play quidditch, that was like his life.
As soon as Ness landed from the portkey, her legs felt uneasy and heavy. The dizziness had really gotten to her and she just couldn't even bear to stand. Annoying way of transport! The red head sat down on the pavement not caring about the people passing by. She needed to sit and breathe and just calm down, which wasn't happening too easily.
The same question kept going through her mind. What was going on? It was UTTER MADNESS! Just CRAZY! She wanted an explaination and she wanted one NOW! This school was trully going bonkers, or maybe..it...it was under attack. That thought had Ness shivering and looking around at everything she could see.
Constance Villagance...that's what she needed..NO that's what the WHOLE school needed right now, unless there was some real answer to this whole mess.
Still looking around, Ness opened her bag and reached inside to pick up her pygmy puff, that was NOT moving. She stared at him a few moments, then gave him a small nudge. Nothing happened he wouldn't move.
"Puffles?" Still nothing. "Wake up you." She shoved him a little more, but the results stayed the same.
A huge frown was forming on her face and her eyes were watering just a little too. "PUFFLES?! MOVE!" She was shouting now, the panic fully in her voice.

Yep...it was blood alright.
The boy confirmed it and Gideon tried not to wench at the idea of falling headfirst onto a rock. So much for portkey being a good idea. There probably hadn't been much talk on how to prepare oneself for landing. At least there hadn't been where he was but at least they were all about 15 there...surely each of them had at least one try with a portkey or heard about them from others.
Bloody head AND possible broken arm.
Looks like the nurse might be needed for this one. Gideon looked around for the woman he believed to be return and also knew usually travelled the train just in case. He didn't spot her yet if she was even off yet so they would have to wait. Maybe there was something to do before that time. After all on a second look around she might be a bit busy. "Do ye feel dizzy or lightheaded?" he asked trying to remember something his grandfather and aunt might ask as he searched his pockets for something. Finally finding a clean hankerchief, he gingerly applied it to where he noticed the cut behind the boy.
"Hold that gingerly but securely on there while we wait for the nurse," Gideon instructed waiting for the boy to add his touch with his good hand to the cloth before moving his own fingers away. At least that could try and stem the bleeding.
Damon landed fairly easy and he looked around, he and all his animals still intact. He looked around for Taylor and the others, did they make it alright?

Alyssa saw the students appear at Hogsmeade one by one through the portkeys and wondered why they had to do that. Well at least it looked like no one had splinched yet. What had happened to the Hogwarts Express?
She hadn't got on the train with them at King's Cross Station. In fact, she hadn't even been sure that she would be going to Hogwarts this term. But she had been given the 'seal of approval' from her grandfather and since she always stayed active, healthy and fit, had recovered quickly from her surgery.
She stood hiding behind one of the walls with her mother who had apparated her here. She knew that she should go up and greet her friends but something made her feel apprehensive. She looked at her mother and shook her head. She still wasn't ready to join the rest yet. Maybe after everyone had made their way to the castle and were being sorted or enjoying the feast, would she quietly enter the castle and sneak up to her House Common Room and just go straight up to the Girl's Dorm.
Already she was missing Evan as she held the locket he had given her. Alyssa sighed. It would be at least 4 months before saw him in person. But then she remembered and smiled, they would still be able to see each other through their magical two way mirrors.
Alyssa picked up her luggage and following her mother, made her way to one of the seats hidden from sight, and waited for everyone to leave.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.

After Oakey's relieved himself of the cookies, he walke around the Platform some trying to find anyone he could recognize. He wanted to make sure that his friends were arriving. Every so often he would need to step out of the way of someone falling right above him.
When he moved to the side for the next person to land he looked at her red hair. She wasn't the Headmistress, the captains badge on her robe gave her away. "Renesmee are you alright?" Oakey asked sounding worried.
She seemed fine because her attention was directed towards something cradling in her hands. Oakey put his hand on her shoulder and looked over to see a Pygmy Puff lying motionless in front of him. "Renesmee is it?...
Before he could finish his sentence Charmer, his black cat started hissing at the little thing. "Charmer stop!" Oakey said turning away from Renemsee who probably didn't need her still puff being hissed at by a dumb cat. Charmer wanted out of his grip though, the cat began to struggle and clawed at Oakey's forearm. Making Oakey drop his cat to the ground. "Charmer no, Charmer come back! Leave them alone!"

Woo! Portkey!
Anya was probably the only person in the history of ever that actually liked portkeys. It was like... a thrill ride. Being yanked and jerked and then to completely stop moving all at once.
Yup.
She giggled a little as she regained herself. She looked around. Platform. They were on the platform. Cool.
"I'm fine." she said after a few stumbled steps. She then looked around. Aww. Look how cute and helpful Jake was being. Too bad she couldn't gush about how cute her boyfriend was. Heh. That whole asking out thing still needed to happen.
She blinked. "James? Areyouokay?" she asked rushing over to his other side. She wrapped an arm around him. "Lean on me. Mmk? I've got you."

A smile was easily placed on Kennedy's face when Sierra turned to him. He reached over a brushed something off her shoulder. "Good," he said, then followed her gaze and then turned back to face her. "I don't know," he shrugged. "Malfunction most likely." It had to be that. What else could have stopped the train?
Kennedy glanced down at her hand and didn't hesitate to lace their fingers together. They weren't official, yet, but that was going to change real, real soon. Where had he been? Well... "I accidentally passed out in an empty compartment," he said, honestly. It was supposed to be a five minute nap, but apparently his body needed the rest more than he thought. "I was actually woken up when the train stopped. What happened before that?" Because he clearly needed to catch up.
The portkey wasn't nearly as bad as he was anticipating. His older friends back home had made it their goal to spook him out about it, but besides a small graze on the palm of his hand, Dorian was relatively unscathed. He walked around for a bit, finding his bearings. He had to find the groundskeeper, but he felt a lightheaded. He was lost even though he was given the simplest instructions. He tightened his group on his dayplanner. How was he going to survive this school if he couldn't find the /groundskeeper./

The secret to traveling by portkey was to bend your knees when you took off and to bend them as you landed. The elasticity kept you from falling; it was only when you insisted on standing rigid that you fell. Or perhaps the innately clumsy... which Vivi was NOT.
"All fine," she looked over Lex and Hasty before letting go of the portkey and giving those around them a look. It was chaos, and it seemed only a very few older students were helping reign in the younger ones.
It wasn't their responsibility to help. If they WANTED help, they'd know to ask for it. Seriously. The three girls could just pile into a carriage and happily make their way up for the feast.
Sigh. Sometimes being incredibly compassionate and giving was a BURDEN. "I guess," Vivi began with the sigh of a thousand martyrs. "I guess we should see if anyone needs help."

Starting with good ol' Gideon, who appeared to be dealing with a bleeder. Hopefully Hasty and Lex didn't have a low threshold for gore.
"Gert, you need a hand? I happen to have six, and all of them currently unoccupied." She approached him from the side and moved into view so both the injured boy and Gideon could see who was speaking. "Might as well put us to use. It seems there is a distinct lack of contingency planning going on here."
As Em was on the ground helping out the little kid, she kept an eye on the things going on around her. Students kept falling out of the sky, but she hadn’t seen her friends, or the others from the food trolley. Ari and Lexa were here, but where was the other kids. And Michael and Max? Had something happened on the train after she left? She remembered what Max had told her when they were sitting there in the dark. Someone had to have wanted it happen. The phrases Don’t Die, and Don’t Panic kept running through her mind.
She also noticed that very few people were landing on their feet, and it looked like some of them were getting hurt. She would have to check on some of the others in a bit. And a lot of those she had seen in the prefect’s compartment were just heading to the carrages. It would be one thing if professors were there taking care of things, but there wasn’t anyone taking charge, so why were the student leaders leaving? Hollering out to those helping the others she said. "Guys, I've got a first aid kid over here if you need something."

Honestly, she could live with a broken leg, it wasn't that bad. The pain was excruciating, but she could ignore it for a little longer if it meant that she could help James. "Maybe you should lie down.. and try not to put pressure on your chest or arm?"
HEY. It was hard to think of ideas when you had a broken leg. Alice's new excuse, everyone.

James shook his head again at Alice. "I think..I at least cracked a rib or two..." he mumbled, closing his eyes. And possibly have broken his arm. "I..I'll be fine" he said, forcing a pained smile onto his face.
James shook his head when Anya asked if he was okay, and said nothing as the pain continued, bringing tears to the fourteen-year-old's eyes as he leant against Anya, sniffling slightly.
