"But, you know, I think I really do hate trains," she informed him, giggling slightly hysterically. She'd hated having to be on the train before the lights had gone out and it had jolted to a stop. After that had happened though, and with the mass of confused students her thoughts about train travel weren't exactly high. Neither was her opinion on portkeys. She was lucky she hadn't done anything to her ankle, although, if she was looking at it, it did seem slightly swollen. Maybe she should poke it to see? But that would require bending down, and letting go of Isaac. So yeah, she wasn't going to check.

"How about you? Are you okay? And your friend?" she asked after a few minutes of simply staring at what seemed to be swelling. Because she was worried about Isaac, she knew that. And while she didn't really know the girl he'd been talking too as she walked up behind him she'd heard enough of the conversation to know they were friends, and that she was obviously hurt somehow.

He was worried especially when she started giggling a bit hysterically. "Amelia." Turning he managed to get his arm around her. "Did ye hit yer head?" he asked. They'd gotten separated so quickly back on the train! "Trains are okay..." Well until they crashed or slammed to a stop like theirs had earlier!

"I'm okay, I managed to hold onto the carriage door and not fly off into anything." Though his shoulder hurt a little but not enough to worry about, from when he twisted into the side of the door when he hung on. "Ronnie hit her head from the sounds of it, and says it hurts pretty bad." His glance went back to Ronnie, his worry showing in his eyes. "Do ye hurt anywhere else?" Yep, he was more concerned about Amelia, since she was giggling kind of weird. Was it shock?

Where were Ed and Nell now? He'd found Amelia and he was concerned for her but now the other two he was searching for he'd still not seen!

...The rational side of his brain obviously thought of the possibly that it was innocent...and that he was making something out of nothing. A girl and guy could sit together and just be friends. He knew. BUT...the Slytherin also knew his best mate...and KNEW how he was with girls. So, the rational side was being shushed at the moment.

...Huh...

Being pulled from his thoughts by a feminine voice, Dylan whirled around, spying a girl he'd never seen before. She was asking for his assistance...Did she NOT see he was DISTRAUGHT here? He wanted to be left alone with his spider. *EYES*

Quickly bringing fingers up to pinch the bridge of his nose, he slowly approached her. "Yes, yes. I suppose I should." His tone suggested that he thought otherwise, though.

She'd been eyeing his badge. Gah. Of course...

BLAST YOU, POSITION OF POWER...

Oh. Gryffindor-Wonder.

Dylan turned his attention briefly towards the Prefect before rolling his eyes dramatically. He was NOT in the mood.

"Calm down, Gilly."

"I like your thinking."

Sebastian didn't get angry often. Okay he never got angry but seeing some of these older students, wearing badges no less, just walk on by and not help out, well that made him bristle just a little.

"OI YOU!" he called out, his eyes narrowing at the arrogrant young man. "GET BACK HERE AND HELP OUT YOUR FELLOW STUDENTS." If you want the perks of wearing the badge then you need to take the responsibility that comes with it also.

And Sebastian had also noted the other Slytherin badge holder that had landed on the platform only moments earlier. He was definitely talking to the Headmistress about this.

It was a good thing Sebastian was a very patient man otherwise he might have lost it by now. "It's not going to hurt. It's just going to keep your leg still that's all." He could understand why she would be scared especially if she had never seen the muggle contraption before. "Calm down. Take a few deep breaths and relax. It won't hurt I promise you, but if you don't want to wear it then that's up to you."

He didn't blame the kid for wanting to get out of there. Sebastian was feeling the same way. "We'll head on out in a minute." When they got this fiasco sorted.

Too much sarcasm? Yes. She dialed it back and smiled at Gideon, albeit faintly. "That's sad, though, Gert. I don't want to check in with Selina when I'm trying to deal with you. You have to ask permission to play with others?"

"You're lucky," Vivi looked away from him, her hands on her hips like a queen surveying her kingdom. "The gent over there is bawling someone with a badge out for not helping. We just saved your bacon."

Gideon knew enough to back off as she spoke with a short tone, not that it mattered seeing as the captain seemed to be ignoring him anyway. The prefect would let her handle things, looking between their mutual charges as he waited. He couldn't help raising an eyebrow as she commented on his words involving Selina.

"Nae...ye just never specified if it was something that had to be taken out of my hide. And seeing as I've promised her as boyfriend and player to captain not to get too injured if I can help it, ye would need her permission to hurt me." That should explain it, though he was kidding up to a point just keeping a straight face about it. He could pull the sarcasm card too.

"All other debts are dealt with in person."

"Oh, excellent" Robert replied, ready to step back from the situation for which he could offer no real help. Best to let the Groundskeeper sort it out. He actually did take a step back, which placed him nearer to Angel, holding the wombat.

Giggling at the idea that the wombat was hers she shook her head. "Nup, it's the groundskeepers... He asked me to take care of her, she didnt like the noise" she tried to explain... Though now she did want a wombat!!!

Another first year - Robert was somewhat relieved. It was nice to know that he was not left behind in the madness that was surrounding them.

"Oh it's his - that's cool" Robert said, at the same time relieved and jealous that Angel was chosen to look after the Groundskeeper's animal, as being asked to help a staff member was a privelege and a big responsibility. "I wonder what they eat".

Nodding her head a little more obviously at her cat, the feline understood this silent signal (surprise!) and waddled his stubby legged self over to the girl and began to rub up against her leg again - putting on a show that he actually cared about her concern. "I think he wants to comfort you," Kurumi said softly.

Her attention was back on the Groundskeeper when he spoke and her heart somewhat sunk. HE didn't know what to do either? Or, well, he did but didn't. "Yes, I think I can sir," she nodded as she accepted it from him and turning her attention back to Alice.

Only to see Milton scampering off in the distance... "OI!" Kurumi shouted, taking a note from Selina. "Milton, grab some students before you take off!"

He DID have a badge on after all - even if the word didn't start with a P.

Now that Alice was on the stretcher, Kurumi held the splint over her leg and was just about to slip it on her and tie it securely when Alice began to panic slightly. Offering yet another cookie, Kurumi began to talk while she worked. She needed to get this on and fast. "It's not going to hurt. You might feel a little uncomfortable at first, but this is going to help keep your leg from getting worse. They are made to keep you stable to decrease pain and prevent further injury. I've worn one loads of times," Kurumi explained, splint on her leg now and her fingers moving quickly over the ties. "Kendo injuries and mostly on my arms and wrists. You've outdone me." Lame joke, but she needed to keep Alice distracted while she tied all these ties.

Tightening the last one to hold the splint in place, Kurumi slowly removed her hand. "How does that feel?"

And then Kurumi's attention was elsewhere when one of the Hogsmeade shopkeepers arrived. What was going on? Did moderate chaos count as an answer? "We all just arrived by portkey, sir. The Hogwarts Express...broke down." Or something. Kurumi really wasn't sure what happened. Was anyone? What happened to Mr. Shifty?

At his next request, Kurumi looked back at Alice. "Alice, you are going to be fine. The Groundskeeper will look after you. I'm going to take Melanie towards the carriages now and we will see you at the feast." Kurumi's eyes somewhat bore into the young lioness in attempt to show her her sincerity.

Which was also when she offered her hand towards the other girl, the one Walnut had HOPEFULLY been distracting during all this.

She didn't know the Groundskeeper's name— he definitely wasn't Waylon. So she was just gonna call him Mr. Man. He would be honoured. It was a cool name. Anyways, Mr. Man and Kurumi were both reassuring her that the splinter-thingy was gonna help, so she decided to wear it. Even if she felt awkward. "Okay.." she said uneasily, as Kurumi prepared to put the splint on her. It felt really awkward.. and it hurt a little bit.. but other than that, it was okay.. kinda. "Stable? That's good, right? Does that mean I can still go to the Feast?" She wanted to go to the feast and see all her friends and the new Headmistress Redhead.

And go to school in carriages.

But Kurumi was leaving her with the Groundskeeper. "What?! I have to ride with the firsties in boats?!" She looked at the man. "Mr. Man, is that allowed?" Why couldn't she ride in a carriage? She had the splinter-y thingy on her leg, didn't she? "But.. but.." Breaking your leg so wasn't fun. She wanted to ride in the pretty carriages. It wasn't fair. She wanted to ride with Melanie and Kurumi-Cookie. "Can I keep Walnut with me, then?" He was such a pretty handsome cat.

But she would rather ride in the carriages and be with Melanie, Kurumi, AND Walnut.

Beezus, who?

Oh, hello there new Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain. The brunette turned to her fellow eagle, brows furrowed in quite a bit of confusion. "H-huh?" Huh what? "Oh, yeah. Beezus..and you're Milton, right?" Oh, the famous Shacklebolt that Aurora once told her about.

"Nuh-uh. Trains are the worst. They're all closed in so you can't get out, and there are too many people of them, all pushing. Especially when the lights went out. I don't like being in closed places without lights Isaac. Is that a kitty?" Amelia asked, attention wandering from Isaac and what he was asking her to the cat. She should probably focus on Isaac though. He looked worried. Why did he look worried?

"You're cute when you're all concerned you know?" she asked him rhetorically, smiling brightly before leaning into him. He was warm, and she was cold, so cold. "Umm, does my ankle look okay to you?" she asked as she registered one of the questions he'd asked her. 'Cause it didn't hurt her, per say, but it didn't look right at all. And, oh God, the heel of her shoe looked the worse for ware. She'd never be able to wear these again and they were so pretty and new that it just wasn't fair!

Hmph. Stupid trains.

Elliot rolled her eyes. Pfft. Jayden was learning to be just as lippy as Elliot lately. Which Elliot could handle. But she was STILL the QUEEN. Or rather, Empress, of being sarcastic and witty and just pretty much super awesome.

"You really shouldn't eat too much chocolate, Jayden. It will spoil your complexion," she said with a sigh....but with a slight grin. She hated chocolate. Ew.

And this Jared fellow...

Yeah, they needed to meet. Elliot's approval WAS needed.

Ooooffff.....

Nell stumbled and fell on hands and knees. Her head felt like it was trying to explode off of her shoulders. The world tilted and she lost the contents of her stomach all over whatever surface she was on. Disgusted she threw herself away from her vomit and landed on her back. It jarred her head again and things went black but she struggled to stay conscious.

"Edmund?" Where was he? Where was she? Goodness she was miserable. She needed help. Nell was struggling to rise and fighting not to vomit again.

"Both," Cardigan managed to croak out, her jaw throbbing with pain. If it didn't hurt so bad, she would probably be saying why are you even helping me?! As far as she was concerned, they were enemies. Not anymore? I guess so... As for her jaw, this is how it probably happened: she knocked it up and bruised it quite badly on the train. The portkey got it to break. Being a pureblood, she should be portkey-oriented. But, she wasn't as exposed to the wizarding world as much as most people until she was eleven, like to all the complicated technical stuff.

"And you?" Cardigan wheezed, putting her pain over the line. She would need to just not talk as much. It would help a bunch! Ariana looked like she was in dreadful pain. Hopefully it wasn't as bad as the jaw incident... Hoefully she hadn't broken anything...

She nodded. Well, at least, despite being disoriented, her memory wasn't failing her. Of course she knew him. They were in the Quidditch team together last term. Well, most of the first half of it. And he was a pretty superb player. No wonder he had that badge now.

Meh. But she was okay...

...that was what she wanted to believe anyway.

Eh! Why was he looping his arm around hers?! Guys didn't have the right to touch her! But really..she was in no state to complain so she just let him. "Now that I think of it, I guess not really." The brunette tried to let out a small chuckle, but it only sounded pathetic as she was at the moment.

Great idea. She wanted to sit down. "Let's go Davinci." Yeah cat, follow the leader and your Mistress. Leaning on him a bit, the journey to the carriages started.

Hearing the word 'Bacon' made his stomach lurch nastily. Sweet Merlin, he was hungry...Not even the nausea from early had effected that.

What had she said?

A credit to his house?

*SMIRK* Dylan had obviously needed to hear that. His mood had been dismal...and now? Well, now he could at least properly PRETEND to be unaffected by things. For her efforts, the Slytherin offered her an easy smile and a wink.

Not something he gave everyone.

She slung her LACY bag over her shoulder, and sighed with...annoyance. "That's only because I couldn't be bothered today," she shot back quickly. But then she smirked..."But I can wear a lot of lace tomorrow..JUST for you, Jayden..."

*Snickers*

She began walking to toward the carriages..."Come on, let's grab a carriage..." she said over her shoulder as she started walking.

And then SHE decided he needed to be yelled at TOO. "I KNOW, I KNOW, I'M GOING, YOU DIDN'T EVEN GIVE ME COOKIES!" Which meant she didn't deserve to yell at him. SO THERE.

Kurumi was about to shout back at Milton when she realized that he was right. She had been about to give him cookies when everything went nuts in their compartment. "I'LL GIVE YOU COOKIES AT THE FEAST!"

But that wasn't the important thing right now. Right now Alice needed her attention. And probably Elodie as well since she was very nervous.

SPOILER!!: alice & kurumi

Alice was saying she was fine. Was the girl unaware of the fact that she was the one sitting on the ground with a broken leg?! How could Queen Alice say she was fine?! Melanie’s eyes just widened. ”But you’re not!” she protested. And she was pretty sure someone else would back her up on this. A broken leg was definitely not fine. Ever. A person was fine when they were all completely in one piece with nothing broken or bruised. She bit her lip, watching Alice pet the cat and then winced when she heard Alice let out that cry of pain or something.

Because it sounded really painful. Melanie was just going to stand there and wait but Alice had grabbed her hand. Gripping Alice’s hand, she followed, trying to keep up and not run into anyone as Alice was being carried over to the man.

There was a stretcher and a splint. That was never good. It was like… going to the hospital or something. Didn’t the man know some spells or something that could heal Alice? But it relaxed Melanie when the elder girl said that Alice would be fine. And the cat was rubbing against her leg again. The cat was definitely calming Melanie down a lot though… It was fuzzy… in a way. Like her teddy bear buried at the bottom of her bag. Melanie winced again though, when she watched the girl put the splint on Alice.

Alice was going to be fine. Queen Alice would definitely be fine, right? Of course. It was a broken leg… broken legs healed and no one would have to carry the younger girl to the castle. Wait – what? They would see her at the feast? Wasn’t Alice coming with them? Melanie bit her lip and looked at the elder’s girl outstretched hand.

“I’ll see you at the feast, Queen Alice, be careful,” Melanie said, pulling her blanket out of her bag and covering the younger girl. “Be warm, it might get cold,” she added. Because she didn’t want Queen Alice to catch a cold AND have a broken leg. Melanie took the girl’s hand and glanced at the blonde, then looked at the cat. “Let’s go kitty,” she said to the cat.

SPOILER!!: Groundskeeper and Kurumi <33

Kurumi laced her fingers together with the two younger girls, Melanie and Elodie, and was just about to begin to make her way towards the carriages when Alice spoke again, clearly still panicking. Not that Kurumi could blame her. This was just madness.

"Alice, you are going to be just fine and we will all see you soon at the feast. Riding in the boats will be safer for you and your leg," she said softly. She glanced at Walnut and gave him another nod towards Alice. Walnut's ears might have gone down for a moment, but he eventually agreed. See, he could be a softie....best be getting loads of tuna flakes out of all this...and a proper pampering... So he strut over towards the girl and flopped onto the stretcher. "Just be brave. Remember, you're a Gryffindor and you now have the King of the Gryffindors with you," she winked, nodding at her cat.

Self-made title by the feline really.

Standing back up, Kurumi tugged gently on the two girls. "To the carriages then. See you soon, Alice." And with that Kurumi began to walk towards the carriages, pausing just for a brief moment. "Second through seventh years! If you are not injured please make your way to the carriages!" she repeated. There were some new people to have portkeyed to the platform.

Kurumi's own ears were still ringing slightly and she had a terrible headache from her fall on the train, but it wasn't anything to be concerned about, right? N'aw, she was fine. So, off to the carriages...which caused Kurumi to shiver slightly.

She had almost forgotten that she could see thestrals now. "Alright, in you two go."

Listening as she said she had no idea if she had hit her head more, he chewed on his lip. There were so many kids running and falling and screaming he couldn't remember if she had or not either. Maybe she was just in shock from all that had happened and that was why she had giggled hysterically. Shaking his head to try and clear it.

Oh Merlin...that was right her claustrophobia. "Well we're not on the train now." He said quietly, trying to help her calm down, "We're in Hogsmeade. Heading to the school." Yep, that's right, everything was fine let's just forget the crying students for the moment. Yep yep... "Yes erm...Oliver...I think." Crap was Ronnie's kitten Oliver...or was it..." Ummm, drat he couldn't remember for sure.

Giving a half smile, his arm tightened around her when she leaned into him. Wait her ankle? Looking down at her two feet, his eyes kind of widened "It looks umm kind of swollen." Merlin! "I think ye need te sit down...mebbe we should find a carriage."

Out of the corner of his eye he saw throw up all over then push herself away from it landing on her back. "Hold on Amelia." he said before running towards the girl. "Nell!" he gasped dropping beside her his arm going around her right away. "Are ye alright?" Looking around he didn't spot Ed right away. But hoped he wasn't far away. "Are ye hurt?"

"i fell on the train and landing from my portkey wasnt a walk in the park." she said still looking for Faye, when justin crossed her mind and panic took over "justin." she whispered as she looked around seeing if she could see him "we need a teacher or a prefect or someone." she said looking around not knowing who was who or who was coming or going she was very confused "uhm, Can we have some help?" she called out not to anyone in particular, she heard some people yelling for others to get to the carriages & boats but she couldn't see who they were, she was too short for her own good. she looked over at Cardigan who's jaw was swelling more and bruising darker she walked forward motioning for cardigan to follow as she held her ribs as she tried to take in slow deep breaths so that it didnt hurt

A face appeared above her and it took her brain forever to remember who the face belonged to. She giggled. "We have got to stop meeting this way." Her head rang in response and she groaned. Again she felt like vomiting but managed to keep it down.

It took her a bit to realize that she was propped up. She looked up at the person propping her up again. "Issac? Where are we? Have you seen Edmund?" She smiled dreamily. "I like Edmund. He's cute." Nell just felt like sleeping so she cuddled up to Issac and closed her eyes.

Just as Kurumi was about to get into the carriage with the other girls, Kurumi heard someone calling for help. Merlin, this was like the Second Wizarding War or something.

Stepping down from the carriage, Kurumi spun around and approached the pair of girls. It didn't take too long to figure out that they were injured. "You two alright? Well enough for the carriages or would you rather I help you over to the Groundskeeper?" Kurumi asked, eyeing the young Slytherin's cheek. "We need to get some ice on that...." Which was when Kurumi conjured one out of the air and offered it to her.
