The official home of the Lions, the Gryffindor common room, is found on the seventh floor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The entrance to the common room is the portrait of the delightful Fat Lady, and in order to gain entrance to their home away from home, Lions must know the password and speak it to her.
This terms password is ‘Hic Abundant Leones’.
Be sure to remember those words...and keep it a close secret, for it's the current password you'll need to speak in order for the Fat Lady to swing away from the hole and allow you to enter Gryffindor Tower. Once you're lucky enough to scramble through, you'll find that the common room is a circular area full of squashy armchairs and tables. To the side of the common room you will find the study tables and bookshelves equipped with all that you could need in order to complete your homework assignments, as well as the noticeboard for classes and other school announcements.
A window looks out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace takes up one side of the wall. It's the perfect place to relax and hang out after a long day of classes. You are likely to find the latest edition of the Gryffindor Gazette on the central tables just waiting to be read. It’s always good to stay informed with your house and school news.
If however you are in need of a nap a good night's rest then there are two doors leading off from the common room that open to spiral staircases. Boys dormitories are upstairs and to the right, while girls dormitories are upstairs and to the left. Be sure you don’t go breaking any of the rules by attempting to go up the wrong staircases. Boys don’t stand a chance of beating the enchanted staircase, and frankly girls should know better.
For whatever reason you're here, make sure you take good care of your home away from home. There's bound to be a perfect or your Head of House lurking in the shadows.

He walked in and looked around spotting many other gryffindors he knew and had met. He sat down on the sofa and saw someone reading the Gazette and he smiled as he remembered seeing his face just smiling back at him.
He bent over to see who was behind the gazette and smiled "Surprised to see me in there? Or have you not got to that good part yet?" he chuckled as he straightened up. Not that he was being all big headed cause he wasn't he was just happy that he had actually made into a publication of somesort even if it wasn't the Prophet or anything.. but this was a start and next stop The Daily Prophet.
Quite absorbed, Ariadne didn't even notice when the boy himself entered the Common Room and occupied a part of the sofa. Only when she heard him speak did she really look up. 'Hey there.' the girl smiled.'Surprised? Not really. You've made yourself remarked even before the feast, that was bound to attract media interest.' she winked, setting the gazette aside and drawing her full attention to the conversation.
'So how have you been? Apart from famous?' the fifth year chuckled. 'Settling in ok?' Some people needed some time to adjust but somehow Dylan didn't strike Ari as one of them. He may have been a firstie but he was daring too, in true Gryffindor fashion.
Well he seemed alright. And he wasn't hurt. So...why was he still frowning? "Do you...want me to leave?" Maybe that was it. He wasn't hurt, but he was mad at her for sitting on him and wanted her to go away? He'd said it was no big deal though, so...unless he was lying? But Penelope was fairly sure Coul wouldn't do that. So...what was the problem?
WAT.
No. NONONONONOOOO. No.
He shook his head a little too vigorously, frown disappearing completely. Apparently Penelope didn't understand fake!pouting. Which.. he thought was odd. Nevertheless, "Of course not! Don't be silly." He didn't have any idea where she had gotten that from. Did she know him better than that? Maybe not considering they barely knew each other but.. still.
Frown. Did this mean he had to tell her what he wanted? As in.. lay it out for her? Like. SPELL it, practically? He sighed. Weren't Taryn!kisses like.. part of everygirl's brain? Didn't all girls do that? "It's just that.. well.. Don't girls give out kisses when they hurt boys? That's what a friend of mine taught me." YEP.
SO KISS ME, GIRL.

Oh, good, he didn't want her to leave. She didn't want to leave anyway. This was one of those rare, nice days where something she didn't want to see wasn't present in the common room, and she didn't want to ruin that by upsetting Coul and leaving. She smiled faintly.
And then...oh, THAT was what all this was about? "Do they?" She was a girl - obviously - and she didn't do that. Then again, the only boy she typically hurt was her cousin Xerxes, and she was DEFINITELY not going to kiss him. Gross. "I thought you said I didn't hurt you though?" So she need to give him a kiss now did she? Heh. But she wasn't really opposed to it, so maybe she still would. Hm.

Zack walked in the common room not sure what was going on around Hogwarts! All seemed to new in such a little time.....i seemed that the world is turning upside down or was it just that he was feeling sick........Whatever it was he just wasn't sure!
All he wanted was to rest and have a chocolate frog or maybe two or three or maybe a bag full of it!
Hmm…. That thought made him smile. Smiling foolishly he walked up to one on the chair vacant and sat and then finally looking around to see the common room for the first time after he entered.
huh? he couldn’t believe what he saw, was that an house elf with everyone gathered around it? What was a house elf be doing in the common room. He didn’t like house elves doing all the work all by themselves. So he looked at the other side of the room.
He saw a girl and a boy talking. He shouldn't be staring that's bad. But he knew the girl she was his teammate in quidditch! He looked at her and waved and said "Hey there Pene!" and smiled.

Sarah contentedly closed the book, she was tired, yet that book was soo good and now she had finished it. She shifted in the arm chair and then a slight noise made her sit up. Then she spotted a boy, “Hello there, I am Sarah what is your name?” Now that here book was finished, Sarah was not in the mood to go to sleep yet, she would rather be friendly.

Zack was busying saying Pene hi when he heared someone talk. He turned around to see a girl looking at him. Was she talking to him? He wasn't sure. But she was looking at him. So maybe she was talking to him.
"Hey there! i'm Zack" he replied smiling. He hadn't see her before. "You new here?" he asked. The girl seemed excited, he wondered what it was that made her so excited. Maybe talking to him was exciting for her.

'Hi Zack, no, this is my second year here." duh, she was a second year, yet some people came to Hogwarts not as first years yet later on. Yet she had never seen him before, well actually she had. She had seen him aroud, on like the quidditch pitch. "And you?" he looked just a bit older then her. From hewr judgements he looked a third year.
Zack looked at her as she said second year. She looked like a first year. And if she was in her second year, where had she disappeared for one year he wondered.
"Oh, i'm in my third year" he replied. Still he was trying to think if he had seen her. Did she apply for quidditch as well?
He didn't know where but a small part of his brain said he had seen her before. "Hey, did you apply for quidditch as well?" he asked politely wondering what she might think of the question.
The only way to know is to ask......

Quidditch... "Yes, I was at try outs..." Sarah said. She did not play her best, much to her disappointment.
Emil is a normal first year and he reminds himself that as he enters the Gryffindor Common Room. A few older students have been speaking to each other, but as a shy, normal kid, he decides to slump into one of the single couches facing the fireplace, so he can catch up on the lessons he just attended.
So much to learn! I didn't think being in Hogwarts' is gonna be tough.
He has just learned over the summer that he was a wizard. His mother presented the Hogwarts' letter to him one sunny Sunday morning in the summer, and Emil was perplexed at the oddness of the letter. His mother explained that she was a witch, but decided to marry Emil's father, a Muggleborn according to his mom, who works as a lawyer. When Emil's father got home that day and saw the letter, he was at a disbelief at first because he thought that Emil's mother's past has stopped haunting them, but here it was again.
OK, so I gotta make sure I'm doing these homework correctly. I need to make my father proud.
Emil's father wanted him to be a lawyer like him, and Emil thought that he IS lawyer-bound. He has a knack for debating with his friends, who actually don't like him very much because of his abrasive and competitive attitude, but Emil is actually nice outside competitive topics.
I miss my friends at home... he said as he took out a recent picture from his wallet. He's still perplexed why the portraits around him have moving people in them. In some way, he wishes that the picture of his friends was also moving, but he thinks that would TRULY freak them out.
I wonder what my parents told my friends about my current arrangements... for his parents, especially his father, are not really keen in telling the world that they have a wizard for a son.
Welp, I think it's time to head to bed now... he said to himself as he went up to the boy's dormitories.
Quite absorbed, Ariadne didn't even notice when the boy himself entered the Common Room and occupied a part of the sofa. Only when she heard him speak did she really look up. Dylan smiled as she greeted him, and raised his eyebrows as she said that she wasnt surprised that he had made it into the gazette due to him being famous even before he had arrived at the feast. "Oh you mean... the train thing? yeah well that wasnt planned but boy was it fun! " he saw her wink and he chuckled "Yeah I guess it was about to attract attention since no-one has been as daring as I have and climbed the train before I came along with my two friends." he chuckled as he knew that he was bored and wanted to do something as daring again afterall he was a gryffindor and always in need of an adventure
He watched as she put the gazette to one side, he was kinda proud that he had ended up in the gazette cause it would help people recognise him more, they will be watching him and watch the adventures that he would be having giving it more publicity. He smiled and puffed out his chest a little as she called him famous "I have been good, a little disappointed at some of the classes but otherwise having a good time here. " was he settling in ok? "No need for settling, this is just a whole lot of fun!" he chuckled as he knew that he was having some fun, but he wanted some more fun "How are you doing?" he asked wondering what the older lot were upto. Plus the fifth and seventh years had their important OWL and NEWT exams, he hadn't seen Kurumi around but he would like to hang out with her too, she had those awesome cookies afterall. He had to somehow get his hand on those!

Of course it wasn't planned. The only person who would plan everything in her life was Ari, and she hadn't been involved in the Hogwarts Express incident, ergo it had been something spontaneous. 'Daring is one way to put it.' Ariadne commented, raising an eyebrow. It was wonderful that the firsties were having fun, but they were there to learn too. Not that she actually wanted to tell them that out loud. She didn't want to be perceived as a kill-joy, after all.
Dylan had been disappointed by some classes? 'Oh? Why? Which ones didn't live up to your expectations?' As a first year, Ariadne had been impressed by everything at Hogwarts, especially classes. She was curious to know what the boy deemed as unsatisfactory.
And then they were talking about her. 'I'm all right.Just torn between studying and spending time with my boyfriend.' Wide grin. Now that she actually had a boyfriend, Ariadne couldn't help but brag, albeit with some degree of subtlety involved.
Kai walked into the common room and collapsed onto one of the comfy chairs by the fire. Phew. What a day! He didn't think fifth year would be this tough, he was certainly exhausted from all the work. Luckily all the hard work in lessons was seemingly paying off, they hadn't been given any homework whatsoever yet.
He stared into the fire and rested his legs, they weren't exactly on good terms with him after climbing seven sets of stairs from the Great Hall. Despite the pain, he couldn't help but smile - he loved it here. What could ever be better than this? Nothing.

Since the Christmas holidays were really only a few days away - there was really only the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff game left in between the break and now - Penelope decided to spend a little time in the common room by the fire, since she soon she'd be away from it for a few weeks. She really did like the Gryffindor common room, and she always kinda missed it even if she wasn't away for very long. It just felt so...homey. One of the only places that did. So it was kinda special to her.
Plopping down in one of the squashy red armchairs, she set her bag down at her feet - it had her birthday presents for Jake and Tag in it so that she could give it to them whenever she encountered them - and simply stared at the fire, enjoying its warmth and just...thinking.

Jake was beginning to think that the Gryffindor common room was the best place in the castle. It was definitely the coziest. And that was nice, since Jake was used to winters at Durmstrang. So cozy was always a welcome environment.
Stepping out of the portrait hole, Jake pulled off his scarf and undid his cloak. He looked around the room, his eyes falling on Penelope. He immediately went over to her, taking a seat on the arm of the chair she was using. "Hey, I never actually congratulated you about the game." Grin. "You were brilliant, Penny."

Penelope's mind was simply wandering when someone suddenly appeared on the arm of her chair and a familiar voice spoke. Breaking out of her trance, she looked over and wasn't all surprised to discover that it was Jake. Especially considering the name "Penny" was used. He was the only one who somehow always forgot she didn't like people using that name. Well, two could play this name game.
With a slight smirk, she replied, "Thanks. You were pretty brilliant yourself, Jacob." Even if she was teasing, considering she was using his full first name, she DID mean that. He'd played brilliantly. They all had.

...Jacob?
Jake stared at Penelope for a second before realizing what had just happened. "Sorry. Penelope. Right. No Penny, no Jacob." He eyed her for a second before looking away. After a second, though, he looked back at her. "Why don't you like Penny, anyway?" He had never actually asked her that before.
But. "Thanks." He smiled. "Definitely a great first game."

Heh. Good. Maybe now the message would finally sink in. "Right," Penelope replied with a nod and small smile. But then...her smile faded. Oh, right, she hadn't yet told him why. Mostly because he'd never asked but...well, maybe it would help explain why. "It's what my mum called me," she answered with a small shrug. So she'd sort of just her mum's nickname for her. But she was gone now, so that nickname had to go too.
Her smile returned a little at the mention of the game. Again she nodded. "Definitely. Just hope we can keep it up." Because she really wanted them to win the Quidditch Championship this year. It would be awesome, yeah?
Oh, and she'd just remembered. "I have something for you by the way. For your birthday." A few somethings, really, that hopefully he would like.

Shaking his head, Jake laughed lightly. Penelope was obviously proud of herself for making that point. She was even smiling. For... a second. As soon as her smile disappeared, so did Jake's. And he soon found out why. Her mum. Jake looked down, quiet for a second. "I'm sorry," he said after a moment. He should have asked her sooner. "I won't do it anymore." Or at least he'd try not to. Although it wasn't like he'd tried to before. But... yeah. He'd make an effort now.
He nodded again. "I hope so too."
When she spoke again, Jake looked at Penelope quickly. "You didn't have to do that."

Penelope simply shrugged again. At least now he knew...and maybe now he'd remember. She hoped her first point was the reason he'd remember though, not her mum. She didn't really want to use her mum like that, and she wasn't looking for pity. A faint smile appeared when he said he wouldn't do it anymore. "Thanks." He could use another nickname if he wanted, of course. Just not Penny.
Another nod in agreement, and then her smile grew a little. "I know. But I wanted to." They were friends after all. At least...she hoped they still were, considering she'd sort of made his life difficult not too long ago (which also reminded her of something else she needed to say). But friends got their friends birthday presents. So yeah.
She leaned forward and pulled out a book and a small bag of sugar quills. Sitting back up, she handed him both. "Happy birthday." She'd wait to say the rest once she knew whether he liked what she got him or not. It wasn't much, of course, but hopefully it was okay.

Jake only smiled a little. With all the stuff that had been going on with him and Penelope and Anya, he didn't expect Penelope to get anything for his birthday. But he should have guessed Penelope would still want to make him happy like that. She was kind of amazing, anyway.
Looking down at his hands, he saw out of the corner of his eye as Penelope leaned forward and grabbed a few things. When he looked back at her, she was holding two things. Jake's eyes lit up and he grinned. "Wow. Thanks!" He looked down at the book. "I haven't read this one yet!" He was absolutely beaming. And the sugar quills were awesome, too. One of Jake's favorites.
Setting the book on his lap, Jake leaned forward to hug Penelope. "I love it. Thanks."

Ronnie walked into the common room, collapsing in a chair right away. She was very tired from today. So much had went on. She couldn't wait for winter break so she could take time away from school work and such. She glanced out the window. It was already getting pretty chilly outside, which made her happy. That meant Christmas...hot chocolate...building snowmen...making snow angels...and...aaaandd...
...SNOWBALL FIGHTS!
Ronnie loved the snow. It was like the best thing ever...other than candy, of course. But yeah. It was pretty amazing. She always loved playing in the snow with her friends! It was FANTASTIC.

Irina had just got back from her walk and decided to head back to the common room. She had been out most of the afternoon. She saw a girl sitting, looking a bit spent but still seemed happy with her state.
Walking over she stopped by her chair and said,"Hi, mind if I sit here?"

She remembered her time at winter with her parents and loved them. They even would take trips to Aspen and Paris for the holidays. It was always fun. Now she was at Hogwarts, which wasn't bad, just different.
"What are the holidays like here?" she asked out of pure curiosity, as she leaned back and stretched out her long legs in front of her.
