post 3 Laura looked around she was being hit like crazy with some of the rocks and she was ducking the others, she really had to do something to start getting the rocks in her cauldron, she really wished that she could stop thinking they would kill her if they hit her, when she knew they wouldn't, she had a few bruises on her arm from a couple of them but nothing much, *Ding* Laura looked into her cauldron, how she had managed to get one of the stones into her cauldron she didn't know how it had managed to get into the cauldron but well at least she had got two stones now, this was really awesome. |
Post 1.. Rocks 0 Minerva just looked still surprised at the game they were going to play. She didn't mind being hit by a bludger, nor falling from her broom, but wearing this cauldron on her head and chasing around rocks trying not to hit the other students in the air was just nuts. Minerva then heard the professor again and looked up. blink..blink Oh she didn't even noticed the quidditch rings gone. That was an odd thing not to notice. Well then it was time to be off. Okay then, Minerva kicked off the ground and already had to dodge flying students everywhere. This was just an amazing sight and if she could she would like to be the announcer for it instead of being in the middle of it. Smiling she thought of things she would probably say watching other students.. Taylor getting close to Ariana, watch out we might see another punch in the face... Laughing for a second Minerva brought herself out of her thoughts, oh right playing a game. She took off to try and find these wonderful rocks to catch. Looking up she saw one okay time to get to work. Going after it she got directly under it. This shouldn't be to hard, tilting her head for it to fall in she felt pain instead of hearing it hit in her cauldron. Looking dumbfounded for more then a second she realized that she had her head tilted to far to see the rock instead of just trying to guess and catch it in the cauldron. Rubbing her cheek where the rock hit her she started looking for another one. |
Post 2 ; Rocks : 3 Kat had her eye looking for more rocks to catch. In perfect timing, of course. She didn't want to miss a rock or lose them. Which is why she was trying hard to balance on her broomstick so that she wouldn't go falling down and all the effort she made go to waste. In fact, most of her efforts did go to waste. Annoying. She didn't want to do the again. The Slytherin saw a rock falling down from her right so she took a dive and caught the rock. Hell yeah! And, as if luck was beside her, another rock dropped inside her cauldron. Oh boy. At least the rocks liked Kat... Vindictus didn't. HMMMPH. Anyway, let's continue. Don't distract yourself! |
Post 4 rocks 4 Laura looked around and smiled, she saw that there was a couple of rocks coming down together she raced around on her broom trying to get them into position so that she could catch them both, she was hovering backwords and forwards, she knew she had to get into the right position because if she didn't she would lose this golden oppotunity. "Right a bit!!" "Left a bit!!" "No right a bit!!" Laura giggled as she finally got into position just in time as the two rocks went straight into her cauldron this was hard to do perfectly but at least she was working hard trying to catch the rocks. |
1 Post + 0 Rocks ; also hi Kurumi ^_^ Time to catch some rocks! Penelope mounted her broom and kicked off quickly, rising quickly in the air as she looked around to see where it might be easiest to catch the falling rocks. Was there any spot where they were really clustered together instead of spread out? She zoomed forward as she continued looking this way and that, but it was hard to get a really good look at any of it with the rocks continuously falling. Couldn't they just pause for a moment so she could... THUNK! Whoaaaa, those vibrations weren't as easy to ignore as she'd thought they'd be. Merlin, this was definitely going to give her a headache, but hey, at least she'd caught one! But then, when her eyes focused back on what was in front of her, she realized she was heading STRAIGHT for Kurumi. Crud! Acting on instinct, Penelope moved to dive below the older girl and somehow managed to turn herself upside down in the process. She clung tightly to her broom and soon she was right side up and past Kurumi, both of them unharmed it seemed. But she lost her rock. SIGH. |
Post 1, Rock=1 Belle was nervous about playing this game. She did not really know how to play it, she observed the other students. Belle knew she had a cauldron on her head and had to catch rocks? That was nuts. This game was going to be fun though. As the professor blew the whistle, Belle kicked off from her broom and flew in the air. She tried to swerve and dodge other people with cauldrons. Then rocks were flying all in the air. She was trying to catch one, i mean that was the objective of the game right? Belle needed to get used to the cauldron on her forehead. It was quite heavy. Belle was swerving left and right. Her quidditch skills were coming back, she was loving it. Then she heard a "THUNK" and then a "DING!" she felt the vibrations in her cauldron. "Owww.." Belle thought getting used to the vibrations. It was going to give her a headache for sure. But her sporty side and competitive side was going to be unleashed soon. She was lucky to have caught her first rock. |
Post #3 Total Caught=2 Pao kicked off hard from the ground. He was careful to gain several feet in altitude this time. He spared a glance around to see if Alec was surviving, but didn't see him. Must be higher up, and there's no way I'm looking up there! He sighed in determination. "Okay, let's try this again!" Pao swerved around the pitch for several minutes, getting hit in the arm, leg, and side--but not in the cauldron. He was beginning to get frustrated when PLUNK! a rock fell into his |
Post #3 Rocks = 3 ... she was grinning from ear to ear every time the three rocks made a sound in her cauldron. She thought she sucked so much at flying she was going to be the only one with NO rocks in her cauldron! But noooo, she got three in one almost-fall so far. That made her even more motivated! Her throbbing side from before was barely noticed now. Louisa's hands were more steady on the broom, which was shooting forward in a normal speed despite the few bumps and lurches at times. But no more rocks clanked into her cauldron. The Ravenclaw aimed to fly lower than this, both for her personal comfort and to have more chance of getting her cauldron filled. Every rock would fall on her shoulders, hit her in the kidney or simply collide with the SIDE of the cauldron. Louisa still had some patience, she did get three so far without even trying! WHEEEEE! |
Post #1 Excuse me, what? Theodore had never ever heard of this barbaric game before, and he'd much rather playing Quidditch, thank you very much. He let out a slight whimper at the cauldron, and slowly strapped it on his head. He was stalling like crazy. Supposedly, they'd be okay after the professor put a lightening charm on the rocks and boulders. But that didn't excuse the fact that they were rocks and boulders. Also, no goal hoops? BUT THEODORE WAS A CHASER, THIS COULD HAVE WORKED SO WELL FOR HIM. Caps are totally necessary. The second year adjusted the cauldron so it was 100% on properly. Guess he was ready to go.... He was seriously about to throw a strop, so it was lucky when the tweet sounded when it did. Theodore mounted his broom and lazily shot up into the sky. HOLY COW THERE WAS A ROCK HEADING STRAIGHT FOR HIM. |
Post #2 Total Rocks = 2 Erm, yeah. Maybe he should stop distracting Pao. Poor dude was meant to be Keeping in the upcoming game! After the lesson, maybe the two can go for ice cream or something? Yeah... yeah, that sounded like a great idea! ICE CREAM. WITH HIS FAVOURITE FIRSTIE. CUE MAJOR WIDE GRIN FACE. And then... CLONG! CLONG! CLONG! BLINK. What. Alec tensed up slightly as rocks, which must have hit the side of his cauldron, flew right past him and down towards the ground. Why they didn't go in, he didn't really know. What he did know was that the vibrations were... well... they were enough to give anyone a headache. And what did Alec Summers do when he had a headache? EAT ICE CREAM! GRIN. The Hufflepuff shook his head and narrowed his eyes up at a couple of small rocks that were falling out of the sky. Right. Yeah. He could catch them! He grimaced as more rocks ricocheted off of his shoulder but flew forwards towards the shiny, small rocks he had noticed before. And... CLUNK! SUCCESS! ... OW. |
Post #2 : Rocks #2 ROCKS. EVERYWHERE. This was not the kind of sport for Theodore, but he just tried to imagine it being just like Quidditch, only rougher. That would work. Because he was a GOOD Quidditch player, you know. The boy was sort of hovering in mid air for a moment or two, pondering life, whilst ducking here and there. He watched his classmates flailing around, too, and it was amusing. But he did begin to worry when he saw Ella. She seemed to be getting on okay, Nope that would give too much away. Sorry Ella. Back to business, Theodore took a HUFF, and then rocketed further across the pitch, aiming for the smaller of the rocks. In a well-rained area, Theo held up his cauldron strategically and it took a minute, but he heard two smaller stone tap into it. YAY - this was easy peasy. OUCH........ Theodore whirled around in a circle as one of the bigger rocks clunked off the top of his cauldron-helmet. No, don't cry, Theo. Don't cry. |
Post 2 Rocks 1 Minerva was still rubbing her cheek from the hit of the rock when she felt something hit her arm. OOOUCH..another rock, she had to keep her eyes open. Leaning forward she zoomed down the pitch and couldn't help but smile a little. It had been awhile since she was on a broom actually playing a game. Sad that it wasn't quidditch this would have to do. Dodging a collision with someone she wasn't even sure who, Minerva took left and tried to stay in a free area. She saw some rocks falling and decided to go after one. Moving under the rock she made sure to not look up, just tried to use her other senses to judge where to be for the rock to fall nicely in her cauldron. Glancing up she adjusted right just a bit then looked forwards again... PING..PING..CLUNK.. Minerva couldn't help but smile when she realized she actually got one to go in her cauldron. It sounded as if it didn't go straight in, but hey it was in no matter what.. |
Post #3 - Rocks #4 Too late. His eyes were starting well up already, which apparently was an invitation for another stone to thwack him on the head. He wanted to just touch down to the ground and strop his way off the pitch, but the 40 points was so inviting, so he soldiered on. This time he was headed for the big ones. And oh, look - there was one already! Plummeting straight for his face. So, obviously, Theo held his cauldron up to cover his entire face area and BAAAAAAAAAAAANG - there goes the big one, followed by a littler one afterwards. This was great and all.... but Quidditch had way more technique. This would be a mock Quidditch match, for reals. |
post 3 collision response and rock 5 SPOILER!!: Colliding!Lex WHOA!!!! Cambridge!!!!! WHATTHEHECKAREYOUDOINGDUMBLION!!! UGH! Ariana Flew out of the girls way but not before she said something to her "watch where the heck your flying Cambridge!" Yeahhh she went there. crazy ungrateful lion. ugh oh how she Loathed that ickle!lion Lordie! after getting out of her way the fourth year flew back to the outskirts and zoomed around a bit really just enjoying flying again really when CLANK She caught rock number FIVE with out even trying. this game was easier then it seemed really! |
Post #3 Total Rocks = 5 GULP. There were too many rocks here. So many that no matter where you turned, you were likely to get hit by one of the mean, hard things. And so many people! This was getting a little tricky, actually. The Hufflepuff hovered in the air for a bit, looking around at everyone else trying to catch rocks. If he didn't know any better... he'd say that this was complete and utter chaos. So he just hovered there, a mellow expression crossing his face. Head!shake. This was like Quidditch, this was like Quidditch... And with that thought embedded in his mind, Alec flew off, wincing as a couple more rocks decided that it's okay to OH OH OH! That was a BIG GROUP of rocks there. FLY LIKE SUPERMAN, SUMMERS! CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK! ... OH. Three? In one go? Awesome! GRIN. |
POST : 1 Oichi could feel herself trembling on her broom as the rocky final began and the rocks started to fall from the sky. She did not even have time to give the professor a dirty look before she was swerving this way and that to avoid the myriad of rocks and many still hit her. "Owe, owe, Owwwweee......" She grimaced and then felt something heavy hit her couldron making her head ring. She shook her lightly. One down, 24 to go, ugh. |
Post 2 Total Rocks=2 and Taylor So far so good. Well...not really, actually. Ella hadn't gotten any rocks into her cauldron yet but at least she hadn't been knocked off her broom. That was- O___O SPOILER!!: Taylor Someone, and Ella wasn't sure who, flew directly into her and caused Ella's broom to go spinning in the air. She held on tightly as she was whipped around, praying she didn't fall off or hit anyone else. Luckily, the spinning didn't last long and the blonde was just left feeling a bit dizzy. Blink. Blink. "Merlin's beard!" She called out, steadying herself. Seriously, who was out to kill her? The third year looked through the rocks that were falling all around her to see that the crasher was Taylor. REALLY? It figured that the one girl Ella didn't really want to see right now would be the one to almost knock her off her broom. It was an accident though, yeah? She doubted the girl would try and take her out during a lesson. That wouldn't be stealthy at all. When the girl circled back to check on her, Ella just shrugged. "I'm okay..." And meep. It seems Taylor got a rock to the face. That must have hurt. "Hope you are too." But seriously, this was no time for talking... Heading towards the far end of the pitch, the blonde moved her head as best she could, trying to catch some rocks. Merlin's Beard! They just didn't want to go in. Seriously! Why was it that everyone else could get rocks but sh- PLUNK. PLUNK. ... Oh! Wicked! ^___^ |
Been here all time....Post #1 Like Cassia needed a proof that only accidents come out of riding a broom. She used to think that flying is cool and she actually she still does but she also had realized that playing games ON a broom can be fatal. And she had back-up facts which everyone knew of. Like the players crashing with their brooms into the stands. There got to be something to this. Totally not a coincidence. And to be honest she didn't really give it much of a thought before because she wasn't a player. BUT now that she was supposed to participate in this game. Dangerous one. Mind her but she is concerned about herself. Like she didn't want to experience a rock smashing her head or WORSE her nose! Nothing to do though. So she tried to think of positive thoughts that it was good for her to fly from time to another alone without her father being around making sure that she actually was on the broom. So the second-year picked up a broom and mounted it like she saw others doing. So she did know how to fly on a broom. But her problem was that she always got distracted and forgot to keep her balance. So she needed her concentration. All of it! Knowing that this might be boring, she knew she had to keep her balance to…you know stay on the broom. With the cauldron attached, Cassia kicked the ground lightly and voila! She was flying. she leaned forwards her hands gripping the broom's handle tightly! She must not fell. So where are the rocks again. Clunk! Clunk! Oh above. |
Post #4 - Rocks #4 Quote:
As one more plopped into his cauldron, Theo was turning into his Quidditch!personality. Basically, his competitive hat was ON. He was GOING to get all of those stones before everyone else. Even before Alec, one of the top seekers of the school. Yeah, we see you over there, snatching all the rocks. Well, Theo leaned forwards to gain a little extra speed, and he shot towards one of the same rocks that was floating by his friend. Nope, nope.... mine. I mean, his. ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM - STRAIGHT AT ALEC. |
Post 6, Rock=1, Total=7 Jory was still being targeted by stones, just as the other students. There were a few more scrapes on his hands now and in addition to his head his shoulders now throbbed a tiny bit now. This was a painful game. He dodged some students who were going in the opposite direction. He spotted rock directly in front of him. The Puff accelerated hoping to catch it. "Come on!'' he muttered, keeping his eyes on the rock but unfortunately it was too far away and he watched in disappointment as another student caught it. The boy zoomed around looking for another rock or perhaps two. Just then he saw one and this time it was much closer. He sped up and slowed down as he came closer under it, then he stopped and aimed the cauldron. THUMP! |
Post #4 Rocks: 6 Sticking to his strategy of plotting before striking, Max hovered nicely in the sky, watching everyone zip around him. Some of the younger students were loons, weren't they? He observed a few of them as they dove and missed the rocks; he felt bad for them, really. It wasn't their fault that they were still young and didn't have the flying skill and hand-eye coordination to line themselves up properly to make the catches. A rock hit him hard on the back of his leg and he got snapped out of his thoughts of the other students. Tilting his head slightly upward to peer at the sky again, Max watched the rocks falling around him carefully. Maybe since they were jinxed, there was some kind of... rhythm? Maybe a certain rock fell in the same spot every half a minute or so, or a bunch of rocks were rhythmically timed all in one area? Maybe he could find some kind of pattern like that, hang out in that area, and just gobble up all those rocks until time was up! As he plotted, he saw two rocks falling alongside each other high in the sky, their path putting them about... fifteen feet to his left when they passed him. Moving on instinct, Max turned hard on his broom and leaned forward, quickly picking up speed and positioned himself under the two rocks as they 'CLINK!'ed off the inside of his cauldron. One bounced out upon impact; Max, who had been looking up to make sure nothing went wrong, jolted his head back underneath the rock as it went airbourne again. Two at once. Barely. |

post 1, rocks 0 Creaothceann.. heh. Ethan had played a rudimentary version of this game with his cousins when they were kids, but that had involved a cherry tree and the kitchen pots and pans. He was a little excited to be playing the actual game.. even if his head of house had charmed things to make the game a little easier. The boy kicked off from the ground as Vindictus blew his whistle and he flew forward, eyes latching on to several rocks as the fell from the sky. This was a bit harder than he thought.. playing with his cousins meant only a few of them. This was an entire class full and it was just enough dodging other students who were also vying for the same rocks. Nearly flying into some random person, Ethan avoided him just in time to miss the rock he was aiming for, instead of his cauldron it hit his arm. Maybe he should fly into a less populated part of the pitch.. |
Post #4 Total Rocks = ... 0 again SPOILER!!: THEO! XD So the fourteen year old was just mindlessly catching Alec was just on his way to catch another couple more because, aside from the fact that they were having ROCKS and BOULDERS thrown at them, this game wasn't too bad at all. Not really. And he had a funny feeling that if he looked at it in a certain way, it could just help him for the upcoming match. Or, you know, so he thought. But anyways, the fourteen year old just about managed to catch another when something came hurtling towards him as if he was some sort of invisible ghost. Alec did not like this one bit. What if the other person hit his cauldron and got hurt?! OOMPH! "ARRRRRRGH!" HE WAS BEING SWEEPED OFF OF HIS FEET AND OFF OF HIS BROOM AND TOWARDS THE GROUND. No no no! The Seeker's hands shot up to his head and covered his cauldron, trying his hardest not to let any of the rocks disappear as him and the invisible boy started hurtling towards the ground in FULL SPEED. And all that entered Alec's mind? SAVE THE PRECIOUS UNKNOWN BOY. ... OOMPH. Tumble... tumble... tumble... GROAN. And the rocks? Gone. Up in the air. Wibble. Alec looked towards his side and BLINKED HARD at the unknown boy who... well... he knew this guy very well, actually. "Theoman?!" Dude had a lot of explaining to do. |
Post#2. No rocks.. Well she so far managed to concentrate on the balancing thing but you know what's the problem? They had to catch rocks. Now that was going to be hard….concentrating on two things. Gotta take effort. Cassia took a deep breath and figured that she needed to find herself a method to do this. So she keeps her grip firm on the broom and sincerely wish that rocks fell into her cauldron. That had to work out! The snake steered herself left and right trying not think that it was raining rocks! Clunk! Her eyes shot to the cauldron anticipating a rock in but alas. She looked in time enough to see that the rock only hit the outside of the cauldron. That rock earned a serious and frightening frown from the twelve-years old. Mhhm. She raised her chin up and convinced herself that it was only one single rock. So what if that rock preferred hitting the ground instead of her cauldron. There are loads of other rocks…unfortunately. But maybe she should figure out a way to so this not just wait for a rock to accidently fell into her cauldron. Cassia knew that there must be a way to get the rocks get into her cauldron..willingly. she just needed to figure it out. And while doing that she shall fly around and see how others were succeeding in this. So leaned forward to increase her speed, while gripping her broom another rock hit the cauldron but never made it in. That was unfair. |
