Who Can Attend First year students who need to learn the basics before Quidditch Tryouts, and older students who wish to brush up on their flying skills.
What to Bring School brooms will be provided for all students. Make sure to wear sensible clothing.
Professor Vindictus arrived an hour before the lesson was scheduled to begin and arranged the broomsticks in two neat rows on the green grass located between the Castle and the Quidditch Stadium. Once he finished the task, he stood by and waited for the students to arrive.

Besides the whole not performing a spell on other students, It could have seriously injured the girl if she fell from the broom; not to mention all the people zooming around would be caught in the crossfire. Wiggling her ankle at the girl’s question, she winced. It hurt, a lot. “I think I’ll be fine.” She said, lying hoping it would be. Since she didn’t have any sort of wrap available, she leaned forward, and pulled the laces of her boot super tight hoping that would act as a wrap, and keep it from swelling. Forcing herself up off the ground, winced again as she put even the smallest amount of weight on it. She took a limping step and stopped. This was not going to work.
Alyssa almost winced just looking at the girl as she tried to walk. "I'm Alyssa by the way. You look like you are in a lot of pain. I can see that just from your face."
Alyssa looked around to see whether any Prefects were within calling distance but unfortunately, she couldn't see anyone at the moment.
"We don't know whether you just twisted your ankle or tore a muscle. You really shouldn't try walking on it. First of all we need to remove your boot. Tying it up like that is going to only make it worse. If your foot continues to swell and you're still wearing your boot, taking it off later, is really going to hurt a lot worse."Alyssa advised her.
"Believe me I know. I've fallen off the roof of our house a couple of times and you don't want to be wearing a shoe when your foot starts to swell."
Offering her shoulder, Alyssa told the girl,"Why don't you try leaning on me?" Then Alyssa had an idea. It might work if only the girl was willing to try it.
"Until help arrives, I may have a plan to at least move you out of the way of anybody else who might come flying into you. You could ride behind me on the broom and hold on to me. Don't worry I won't fly high at all. I just want to move you to a safer spot." Alyssa tried to reassure the older girl.
"Are you willing to give it a try?"Alyssa asked the girl

Couldn't ONE flying lesson go by without something ridiculous happening to her?
Deciding to try and out fly the little bug, the third year leaned forward and took off, flying as fast as she dared with so many people in the air. Unfortunately, the bee seemed to have eated its Wheaties that morning as it was keeping up and still VERY close to her ear.
BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
MEEP. Ells zigged and zagged, dodging her classmates as she tried to rid herself of her little buzzing shadow. Nothing seemed to be working though and Mr. bee seemed to be getting more and more angry. What had she done, anyway? Was her hair too shiny? WAS THAT IT? Or maybe it was because it smelled like flowers?! Meh. Curse that shampooo.
Once Tag was done goofing off with flying around in circles he stayed in position in the air as he saw a blonde girl zig zagging like crazy, head turning this way and that way. He made his way over to the girl, but stayed on a more straight path as he flied beside her. "Ella. Are you having a spaz attack?! Should I get the Professor?"He asked worriedly. Or maybe he should ride alongside Ella, grab her broom and gently bring her down. But the Professor said to keep both hands on their broom or they go SPLAT! Tag didn't want to go SPLAT! So he just stared at Ella, his big blue eyes getting bigger and bigger.

TIME TO FLY! Wicked! Sophie had missed that. But flying again after not haven't done so for over a year could be kind of tricky... or not so easy, at least. The badger mounted the broom she was holding and pushed herself off from the ground.
MEEP! She was doing it! Sophie smiled as she started going uuuup and flailed her legs a bit, enjoying the sensation of not haveing anything under it. That was fun!
Whenever other students zoomed around close to her, she would grasp the broom handle a little tighter, just to make sure she would fall off. Just a few more minutes until she got used to it again, right??
Hopefully...!

So now she was turning left…left…please let it be that no one is on the left. And she turned left successfully! Grinning toothily at the lame achievement ,Cassia leaned forward to increase the speed a bit because she was flying like a turtle. Though turtles don't fly but you know Cassia was flying in a speed that resembled a turtle's speed when walking. Made sense huh!?
Speed increased, Cassia shook her head to make her hair GET OUT of her eyes. Great now she must really look like an idiot shaking her head like that. Ehh..stupid messy hair. Mental note to take care of hair next flying lesson. And why was the ground standing up?? Oh it was not that the ground standing up….it was Cassia actually going DOWN.
Thud!
That's the thing about shaking your head while on a broom, you fall to the ground. Cassia rose to her feet and took a glance around her. Anyone enjoying the show? No, good. See that's the point of choosing a further spot. You might get bored and keep talking to yourself in your head which might get a bit weird but you don't become a joke and an amusing scene.
Talk about choosing the right place.
So what?! she fell to the ground like a warrior. Ehh…not really a warrior more like an unbalanced-twelve-year-old but that could go as a warrior in…….some world.
Cassia sighed getting bored and reached for the broom, time for another fall tour around.

Was it just him or was his broom starting to misbehave?
Gideon started to notice that it wasn't reacting as smoothly to his movements and guiddance. "Can a broom be tired..." he mused to himself almost incredulously before shaking his head at the thought as he hovered for a moment or two debating his next actions. More laps or should he head back to check on things where Vindictus was currently still hanging out? Little more than a speck on the ground from the height he was or at least had been earlier in his flying.
He finally opted for a conbination of the two, giving himself a quick circle around the area before heading back to the green beside the pitch. The seventh year gradually sending himself and his broom into a shallow dive to get himself closer to the ground to better hear any futher instructions.

Ella was frowning like crazy and her hand was throbbing now. She really wished she wasn't so against killing any living thing because she really thought the bee deserved some kind of severe punishment. Okay so maybe not death but still...no ice cream or erm...honey for at least a month. Yeah...yeah! That was a good punishment. That's totally what that bee deserved. Villainous bee.
And EEP. Tag had clearly seen the whole debacle and he was looking at her like she was a complete mental person ,a mental person who enjoyed ice cream and gummy worms, of course. A spaz attack? Ells was sure she'd never had one of those before. She shook her head, giving the worried lion a reassuring smile as she tried to slow her speed so that she was flying beside him more steadily. "N-no. I just...there was a bee and it stung me." She frowned motioning her head towards her right hand. "I don't know why it was so angry at me! You'd think I went and robbed the bee hive or something!" Seriously, Ells was NO bee burglar. She was merely a badger trying to enjoy her flying lesson. Sheesh. "I'm not allergic to stings or anything...so I erm...I think I'll be okay." Cause she was REAL strong and tough and was clearly not going to get all wibbly all over a bee sting...right?

She wasn't leaving him behind, necessarily, but Vivi was eager to get some air time in while she waited for Vickers to catch up. She gave him an apologetic little look before taking off for a little loop, with the full intention of coming back once he gained a little momentum.
The firsties and other underclassmen seemed a bit... off their rockers, what with the number shouting and falling and being otherwise nutso, and Vivi dodged the drama and then zipped back in toward the Quidditch pitch. It would be great to head up and do a few turns through the hoops, but Prof V had been pretty clear that the pitch was their outer limit.
Instead, she did lazy loops, shooting fast out of the last loop and heading back in the direction she'd just come. With a whoop, she looped around Vickers again and then settled back into urging him onward.

As Gideon was nearing the ground, he thought he spotted something up between a couple of girls. Deciding to take a closer look, the prefect brought his broom low and to a 45 degree angle, the older boy landing on his own two feet shortly after. He walked closer to the two spotting a Hufflepuff he knew in passing who seemed to be everywhere nowadays including around drama and a Ravenclaw who if he wasn't mistaken was a fellow seventh year. The older girl seemingly injured.
Hadn't there been enough injuries this term already? And Quidditch season hadn't even begun!
"What seems to be the problem?" he asked as Alyssa was offering the other girl assistance. "What happened?" Gideon hadn't seen what had transpired and couldn't help but wonder if someone had gone against Vindictus' request to not cause any trouble up in the air.

“Emmaleigh,” the girl responded, as she forced herself to take another step, and then another. She was determined to get up to the castle. She was angry, and she didn’t want to deal with anyone. As she limped a few more steps, she heard what the girl had said. She knew this. All of the many times she had sprained her ankle, she couldn’t believe she was trying to walk on it. Right, RICE “No, you’re right, I need to get this boot off.” the puff said as she carefully set herself back down on the ground. Looking down at the boot she commented. “It needs compression though.” Her bag, with all of her first aid stuff was back in her dorm room, sitting on her bed. “I need something to…” she began before reaching down and loosening her boot all the way and carefully sliding it off of her foot. Reaching up, she untied her yellow and black house tie, and wrapped her foot in it.
Em listened to the girl’s idea before shaking her head. She knew she would be safer here on the ground. She couldn’t fall again, and it was unlikely anyone, except her, would be flying so close to the ground. And she didn’t want back on a broom. Instead of saying all this, she told the girl another reason why she didn’t think it was a good idea. “It needs to be elevated, and iced.” Leaning back, she lifted her ankle up to get it above her heart. Looking up, she tried to ignore all the kids on brooms, and pretend that she was by the lake.
Em looked up as someone came over asking what was wrong. “Some blasted fool did a ‘fly-by’ and made me fall off of that stupid broom. I landed on the ankle I twisted earlier in the lesson.” She wasn’t going to tell him the first injury came from her being a klutz and she wasn’t going to tell how high she had been when she fell.

Reason: adding a response to gideon
Awar screeched to a stop. Someone called her name. Who was it? She looked side to side, then up. SILVIA! She kept one hand gripped on the handle and waved with the other. "Hey! Yeah, I'm fine. Just takes a little bit of getting used to."
She leaned forward and turned to the left and then to the right. Hey! I think I got the hang of this! She turned to go back to Silvia, but somehow went the opposite and bumped into...GASP. ELLIOT! Awar quickly tried to turn the other way to get away from her as fast as possible.
"Yes, well, just take your time with it. Eventually flying will become second nature." Unless she was afraid of heights or something, in which case it might be a long time before it became second nature, if it did at all. But the Hufflepuff seemed to be fine for now; she was in the air and moving at least.
Silvia turned her broom and began to gradually descend in a spiral pattern. When she turned her broom at the end of her last circle, her eyes sought out Awarlesta again and...
Ouch. That couldn't have been fun. Silvia had luckily managed to avoid crashing into anything her first time on a broom. And that Ravenclaw was clearly not very happy and didn't even ask if Awar was okay. Seemed like the first year may have already made a bit of an enemy. But the first half of class should almost be over, so hopefully the incident would soon be forgotten, at least for now. Hovering closer to the ground, Silvia took a quick glance towards her Head of House. Hmm, what could he be planning for the rest of the lesson? she wondered, hoping that she was prepared for whatever was to come.

Hooraaaay! This was cool! Sophie had almost forgotten how nice flying was. Maybe she'd get a broom for herself next summer? Nah... too much work to clean in at take care of it. Sophie remembered quite well how boring it was to keep a broom nice and clean. No fun.
Anyway, flying around with a school broom was better, since she didn't have to necessarily clean it, sooo yeah! Hehehe! The badger beamed as she flew around in big circles, around some of her classmates. She spot Alyssa talking to some older badger and frowned slightly. It seemed like the girls were about to try some stunt or something... Sophie thought it would be better if she kept flying at a safe distance from the two Hufflepuffs. Who KNEW what was about to happen to them?? Good thing the Gryffindor Prefect was there to check on things. That boy had a good timing indeed! Heh.
Welp, Sophie trusted him and was sure he would not let anything bad happen. Hopefully. So she focues on having fuuunnn and flying around some more! Always being careful not to fly into anyone, of course.

Gideon listened as the injured girl was the first to speak up out of the duo, telling his what had happened and answering his question. So there was some misbehaving going on and like many times before, it had gotten someone hurt. He inwardly sighed at the thoughts on the idiocy involved. Falling off a broom could have killed somebody? Didn't they understand the seriousness?
Alyssa broke him out of his momentary thoughts by mentioning a plan no longer to be used as well as mentioning the name of the girl he didn't know . Well that was helpful. "Ye welcome," he said as the Hufflepuff thanked him for his help before taking his lead. Guess it was up to him now, he mused to himself ready to offer his shoulder instead. And then Professor Vindictus blew his whistle dismissing the class leaving them no reason to have to ask to leave ahead of time.
"Perhaps I should put our brooms away and then help ye to the healer? Sound like a plan...Emmaleigh? My name's Gideon by the way."

Alyssa retrieved her broom and since she was already on the ground, carried it over to where Professor Vindictus was standing and placed her broomstick back into the rack. Picking up her backpack, she walked up to the Professor and said.
"Thank you, Professor for giving us another opportunity to fly." Alyssa thanked the Professor before making her way back to the castle.

Kurumi really only partly heard the Slytherin girl call back to her. The seventh year was far too focused on CLUTCHING HER BROOM FOR DEAR LIFE as she continued to mildly zoom around the pitch toward the opposite goal post. Which she did manage to get to just before Professor Vindictus blew his whistle.
OH THANK MERLIN CLASS WAS OVER AND SHE HADN'T DIED.
Relieved beyond belief, Kurumi turned the handle of her broom and made her way back towards the center of the pitch, leaning forward a bit to increase her speed. The sooner she got there the sooner she could be off her broom and back on the ground where things were SAFE and STABLE. She didn't realize it, but she had gotten back some of her Seeker speed just now...problem was the landing...which just so happened to be about the most ungraceful thing Kurumi had ever done.
Once her body stopped rolling, Kurumi hurried and picked herself up off the ground before retrieving her broom and setting it back in the wrack.
It was now here...on the ground...where life was stable that Kurumi finally noticed her friend Emmaleigh. Had that been what had happened in the air? Kurumi really hadn't noticed anything besides the shouting and light screaming. "Emmaleigh, you going to be alright?" Kurumi asked, keeping her distance a bit. Crowding wasn't going to help anything after all.

Professor Vindictus blew a whistle to indicate the end of class. He told them to land on the ground, stack the broomsticks on a rack and leave class in an orderly manner. Tag looked at Ella for a second and hearing that she had said she'd probably be ok, he nodded and slid his body forward so that the broomstick went at a nice angle as it reached the ground. He took his feet off the broomstick and carefully placed the broomstick on the rack behind Professor Vindictus.
"That was a nice class, Professor. I liked it. See you next time." Tag said nicely as he slowly left the surrounding.
Wait... that was it? A NORMAL flying class? No chaos, no dodging pixies or flying squirrels or anything? Not that not having those was really a bad thing, but it was unusual for this class and with this professor. Was the crazy Vindictus becoming... normal? Or was there something else going on?
With a bit of reluctance, Silvia landed with ease near where they had started and dismounted the broom. "Thanks for the class, Professor," she said as she passed him on the way to return her broom to the rack.

"Well done! It's time to land and place your broomsticks on the broom rack behind me. Other than that, class dismissed!"
It's not that Cassia was happy that the lesson ended, no. She enjoyed flying despite her clumsiness. But she was feeling that first her arms started to feel sore probably from clutching the handle tightly and falling on the ground a couple times . Oh but she was fine still able to walk and run even. Besides it was the first flying lesson and she hadn't flown much during the summer so it was natural to find some trouble having not been used to. The second lesson should be easier. Hopefully.
The second year straightened and the broom slowed down. The landing shouldn't be hard considering she had been landing automatically for the past two hours. However, it had to be really landing not falling. Nudging the broom a bit and angling it towards the ground in a forty-five degrees ,Cassia jumped down.
Cassia stretched her arms and yawned feeling that she needed a relax session in the common room before picking up the broom. She went and placed it from where she took it behind the professor, "Have a good day Professor! See you later," She said to Professor Vindicuts when passing him.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Already? West frowned but went ahead and dismounted without any sort of complaint. Just as he was starting to get into it too! Maaaybe Dylan would hold another tryout just so they could fly some more?
West went over and placed the school broom back on the rack and considered not saying anything to the professor.
And then thought better of it.
"Thanks professor." Or something.

Orr was enjoying herself up in the air when she heard the loud tweet signalling the end of the flying lesson.
Just at the moment when I was having the most fun, she thought to herself as she gently landed on the ground. She carried the broom and put it in the broom rack before thanking Professor Vindictus for a great lesson.

Awwww, just when class was starting to get interesting! Hmm...they would need to race during the next class or something because she was really looking forward to it.
With a disappointed sigh she looked to Penelope. "We'll have another chance, I hope?" She gave the girl a questioning stare before gently landing her broom and placing it with the others. Such a shame. Her legs were already starting to complain about having to walk. Looking down at the brooms she couldn't help but wonder where they got stored after they were no longer needed.
...Hmmm...something to look into.
"Have a good day Professor." She said with a wide, toothy smile and a small wave before heading off.

Taylor placed her broom on the rack behind the professor and smiled, "Thank you for the lesson, Professor. Have a good day." Tay turned and left, wondering why they only did the practice and not a task like usual...

Minerva heard the professor blow his whistle and landed next to Taylor. She looked at the professor with a little concern. Now she had been in his class for how many terms now and never did they just practice flying and then be done. He always had some crazy task for them to do as well. She was hoping he was feeling alright, but she was grateful for no pixies this year.
Walking over to the broom shed she placed the broom back on the rack and then went and retrieved her bag before smiling at Professor Vindictus. "Thanks Professor, it was nice to get on a broom again after a summer without one." with one last smile she headed back towards the castle.

Juliet heard the whistle and it only signifies one thing... End of class. She pouted as she heard the professor dismissing them. It's time to go. Juliet then manage to go down on the ground safely. After which, she placed back the broom she borrowed back. Walking towards to the exit, she gave a smile to the professor "Thank you, Professor" it was a short flying lesson but she had fun nonetheless. "Have a nice day" she added as she headed towards back inside.
