If you've reached the seventh floor corridor, then you have almost reached the Ravenclaw Common Room. Keep going until you find the Eagles' tower and the spiral staircase that leads up to it.
At the top of the staircase is a door without a doorknob or keyhole but a bronze knocker in the shape of an eagle. In order to enter the common room, a person must answer a riddle asked by the eagle knocker; if they answer incorrectly, they must wait for someone else who gets it right. This might lead overconfident non-Ravenclaws to believe that they could break into the common room at any time, but then they would have over-exerted themselves climbing all the way up there only to be made to feel stupid by a simple door knocker.
If you're waiting on a friend, you can have a seat on the staircase leading up to the knob-less door and feel grateful that you don't have to walk all this way every day just to go to bed.
Awar looked at her cousin doubtfully. She knew something was wrong, but it wouldn't do any good to pick at her emotions. "I've been okay. Classes have been really fun and Mum was talking about going to Spain next holiday to visit Grandma and Grandpa Santiago. You should come with us, Presley." She tugged on her sleeve.
Spain was really nice. And if it was with family, it wouldn't feel like she was burdening anyone. "You mean, this coming holidays?" she clarified. Awar's other grandparents were muggles, weren't they? Presley didn't really know them, but she'd met them once or twice, like at Manolo or Awar's birthday parties. This wouldn't be too bad at all. It would definitely beat staying at Hogwarts, or at Elliot's place where Mr. Morganzo hated her.
"I'll write to my father and ask if it's okay." She wouldn't. Her father wouldn't speak to her, and had made clear that she wasn't welcome until she apologized, which Presley had no intention of doing. But she wasn't going to let that on to Awarlesta. Chances were she didn't know yet, being at Hogwarts and all, and Pres wanted to keep this between as few people as possible.

Awar nodded. "This is our first day going to Spain to visit them. You know how Grandma always insisted we'd go to the Black's for the holiday, my mum was too intimated to say no. She thought it'd be a better idea to go to Spain for our first holiday without Daddy."

Presley nodded. Her uncle had been a great guy, and Presley still missed him a lot. She could imagine how it much be for Manolo and Awarlesta. And their poor mum. She would be having a rough time of it for sure. She was right, a holiday in Spain would do them a little good.
Instinctively Presley reached out and wrapped her arms around her small cousin. She knew what the girl was going through, she'd been there herself when her mum had passed away. "You know I'm always here if you need me. Right, Lessie?" Because she was. Bratty and mean as Presley was, nobody could say she wasn't a good listener when they needed her.

Presley stroked the younger girls hair. When she was little, her mum used to do that for her, and Pres remembered it bringing a very conforting feeling. The poor kid, coming to Hogwarts right after too. It always seemed people were so happy here, and Presley remembered finding it hard to be around happy people after her mum passed away. It was almost like a stab in the heart that life could go on as normal for everyone else when there would always be a hole in Presley's heart. "Listen," she said gently. "We should go do something fun. Your father wouldn't have wanted us to sit here and wallow in misery. He would have wanted me to show you how to sneak out of the school and get to Hogsmeade." Hint, hint! Was she up for it, or not?

Awar hesitated. Hogsmeade was off-limits to first years, but she was right. Her father was a troublemaker and most of all Darius Black was a risk taker.
But, she wasn't her father and wasn't that what killed him? Risking his life as an auror? I carry his blood though...
"Y-yeah, let's go!"
Even if she was a Hufflepuff, she had Black blood and it came with it's perks and consequences.

Awar was nervous. Presley could tell, and it was painfully obvious that she'd never broken the rules before. Presley wasn't a Gryffindor, for sure. She was smarter about breaking the rules. Even though Pres was allowed to go to Hogsmeade now, she'd always know that she'd snuck there her second week of school, the day before she'd managed to get into the Prefects Bathroom (and gotten caught by Professor Hadley, Treyen Lockhart, and the head boy of the time whose name Pres couldn't recall). She was a rule breaker. She jumped up, pulling the first year with her. "C'mon." She grabbed her cousin's hand, and dragged her down the corridor.
Maxwell walked from his common room, out the portrait hole and over to the entrance to the Ravenclaw common room. He was supposed to meet Elliot here for their date and he was right on time as usual. He was a bit nervous but didn't seem it one bit, he just hoped she liked what he had planned.

Elliot hadn't spent the last hour trying her best to look flawless. Nope. It was closer to ten minutes..yeah...sure...
RIIIIIGHT.
The blonde's usually straight hair was wavy, and she was trying her best NOT to smile too much. BEcause Elliot didn't smile..she was more a smirk/sneer girl. But she couldn't help it...her stomach was doing flips...she blinked her eyes a few times, getting used to all the makeup..thank Merlin for Presley, really!
She exited the common room...and there he was! AAHHH! Elliot shot him a dazzling smirk, yes smirk, and stood next to him..."You're on time..." good. Or else Elliot would have been ticked off.

Maxwell was...well speechless as Elliot stepped out of her common room. I mean who wouldn't be? She was one of the most beautiful creatures he'd ever seen, butterflies filling his stomach as she smirked at him.
"I'm...Always on time..." He said trying not to seem like he was staring. "I'm just gonna get it out of the way you look....perfect.." He said sweetly, sending her a rather dashing smile. "Are you hungry?" He asked. "I've got something a little different planned.." he said thankful it wasn't too cold today.

Elliot noticed his look. He was absolutely enchanted by her, and she LOVED it. She wobbled a little in her heels, since she normally didn't wear those, but she managed to look graceful anyways..phheewww!
"Well, thanks, Maxwell. You look pretty spiffy yourself," she winked, and when he smiled at her, Elliot almost swooned.
Almost.
But she didn't, and she stood up straighter as he asked if she was hungry...."Yes...you told me not to eat lunch. So I'm..starving..." she reminded him. Whatever he had planned..."Oh..Maxwell...I forgot to tell you!" her face fell, worry flooded into her eyes..."I'm vegetarian!" NO! Hopefully...he didn't have any....meant planned...Merlin.
Elliot had ruined their date. She just KNEW it.

Maxwell smiled even wider when she said he looked 'spiffy'. "Thanks..Well i'm sorry to leave you so hungry...Oh you're a vegetarian? That's fine...I wasn't sure what you liked so i got a few things, i think you'll be okay." He happy he picked their meal the way he did.
"Ready to go?" Maxwell asked offering her his hand.

OKAY GREAT. Elliot sighed in relief..."Good..." and Elliot didn't like much...but she decided to give everything a try...she wanted to be perfect.
Perfect for Max. And after all, Elliot was used to striving for perfection, with her father.
Elliot grinned...it had been nice holding his hand the other day...it was like they were connected...and she liked that. She grabbed his hand right back, and said, "Ready as I'll ever be."

Back from the date. The best and only date that Elliot had ever been on! It had been LOOOVELY! She was holding Maxwell's hand, a bit stronger than she had been before. Her face was a bit flushed from walking up aaalllll those flights of stairs...she was glad Maxwell's common room wasn't too far now. Just in the next tower...
Eh.
The blonde whipped around, facing Maxwell before she went in...looking positively gleeful. Which was very new to her.

Maxwell was happy the date was a success. He didn't want to say goodnight...but there was an upside to it...he'd get to kiss her again.
"I had a lot of fun, Ell...i don't care what you say, you're lovely to me.." He said remembering how she laughed when he called her that. He put his hands on her hips. "Goodnight..." He said kissing her, and not a little peck on the lips, a real kiss...

Lovely.
There it was...again! Elliot must have done SOMETHING to fool him so...greatly. Did he hit his head or something before their date? hmm. It was all very suspicious...but Elliot wasn't going to question it. Just accept it...no need to queston it..."I liked it, too." UH huh!
"Goodnight, Max," she said back, grinning...and then HE KISSED HER.
but like, a real kiss, and it was Elliot's fiiiiirst kiss. WFIUHFUIHGFHFKQB Her heart was practically pounding to get out of her chest...and it seemed like an eternity before they broke apart.
Well, wasn't that nice. Hehehe.
Say something witty. Like...NOW. Er..."Well, bye, Maxwell. I need to get my beauty sleep...wait, who am I kidding...this is all natural..." she joked, before she knocked on the common room door, heard the riddle, and answered it. Before stepping inside, she looked back at Maxwell one last time and winked...just for good measure, and the door shut swiftly behind her.

Maxwell pulled away from the kiss, her hips sliding away from his hands. Wow...that was a good kiss...and he was smiling from ear to ear..
"Umm..yeah, goodnight....See you in the morning.." He said very flustered. He started walking back to his common room with the biggest smile on his face, but then he started down the stairs, he needed to speak with his favorite snake....
Presley hadn't been stumped by a riddle since her second year at Hogwarts, but this one had her. It was three thirty in the morning, and no other students were around to help her. None. She had just come back from the kitchens, and cookie making with Awarlesta, and now sher needed her sleep before classes in the morning. The problem was, she could not figure out the riddle. "Can you repeat it?" she asked the knocker groggily. "What is greater than Merlin, more evil than Voldemort, the rich need it, the poor have it, and if you eat it, you'll die?" the knocker repeated.
Presley sat down and leaned against the wall. This was hopeless. She was well off. What did she need that poor people had? "Love?" she guessed randomly. The knocker was silent. Pres ran through the riddle in her head again. No, it couldn't be love. Because you couldn't eat love and die. And Love wasn't more evil than Voldemort. She groaned. Looked like she'd be sleeping in the hall tonight, and praying no prefect or teacher caught her out there.
Mika felt a little strange as she was being repelled from the common room. Her un-brushed hair, half pulled up socks and lack of shoes were very, very apparent. What had happened? She thought cross as ever as feet suddenly were very cold.
The girl immediately began to hop from one foot to the other. It was as if she were playing a game of staying off of the cracks in the floor. In reality she was merely trying to stay just a little bit warm.
"C-c-c-c-coooold" she grumbled as she reached into her book bag and pulled out her wand. She was LUCKY that had been in there. Otherwise she would have been a failure among all Ravenclaws. She would have been the disgrace of all disgraces, the black sheep of her house - her family - and a scourge to society if she had forgotten the one and only most important element of her magical existence.
Being without her wand would have been like if she were a bee with no stinger, a pelican with a short-beak, and a penguin who couldn't swim. All in all it would have been a disaster.

At least she had the important stuff. Her wand, Accio, even her butterfly pillow pet. Since Kendall had been hanging out in the dorm letting said cat play with said pillow pet when she'd been unceremoniously evicted, and she'd snagged the strap of her bookbag on the way, along with the kitty and the pillow. So, actually, about the only thing she didn't have was what was left of the giant chocolate owl Patrick had given her. Well, that, half her textbooks, and the little zombie fighting kit she'd gotten at Christmas, since those were all still inside. And she still didn't know why everyone had been pulled out of the dorms, the common room, everywhere. That was the big mystery, but at least she had the really important stuff. Even if her hair reflected the real confusion, as the tips were steadily turning a darker blue and creeping their way further up as she looked around.
Only to hear the grumble from nearby, and she let the orange tabby jump to the floor as she turned to find Mika bouncing like a crazy bunny. Not a chocolate-hyper crazy bunny, either, and she just stared at the younger girl for a few seconds before deciding to sacrifice a bit of her stockpile. Reaching into her bookbag, she pulled out a small bar of Honeydukes chocolate and held it out to the girl. She wasn't about to sacrifice the good stuff. For all she knew, they wouldn't be allowed in the kitchens either and so that couldn't be replaced. But the bought stuff was okay, and she popped a truffle into her own mouth after another moment. "I wonder if we can't even use summoning spells," she said, glancing down at her cat as he wound between her ankles. Mika had her wand out, after all. "Maybe whatever will at least let you summon slippers or something. Or maybe we can find Professor Magnus and she can transfigure some for you." And maybe a brush. And answers as to why they were stuck outside anyway.

Blue had been sleeping, curled up with Barnabus on her head, fluffy socks on her feet, her onesie. When she had just woken up and been FORCED out of the common room, throwing Barnabus to the side, which REALLY REALLY annoyed the kneazle. And now she was kicked out of the common room and as soon as she was about the door, slipped on her fluffy socks and landed on her behind. "OOOOOW." *wibble* She scrambled up and turned on her heal and pounded on the door.
LET ME BACK IN OR-OR-OR I'LL SET MY BESTEST FRIEND ON YOU!"
What a mean joke to play. Seriously. She looked over her shoulder and blinked at Mika and another girl she'd seen around but hadn't really noticed. "Oh. Hello." Blink blink.
One minute he was sitting on his bed having a conversation, the next he was being dragged out of bed, shoved down the stairs, and being pulllled out of the common room. The force and momentum of it all was enough to send him stumbling backwards and land him on his bottom outside his common room. "Ow," he grumbled as he scrambled to his feet and rubbed his sore hip.
At least he hadn't been the only one. Ethan had seen others being pushed outside as he was and he turned to the small crowd assembled there. "What on earth was that?" he asked more to himself than anyone, though he said it quite aloud.
He looked between some of the girls standing there, from the quick-thinking one with an armload of supplies to the one who looked like she was pulled out of bed as well and he subconsciously ran a hand through his hair. It was probably a mess. He was just glad he hadn't quite gotten into his pajamas yet. The boy stole a glance to the door knocker.. and the girl pounding on the door. He had a sinking feeling they weren't getting back in there very soon.

Orr was having a fantastic dream when all of a sudden she was dreaming that she was caught in an earthquake which was tossing her around...but in a really bizarre manner since suddenly there was a gush of wind that was blowing her towards the door and outside. In her dream, she landed roughly on the floor.
"Ouch! That hurts!" She said out loud as she heard sounds of the other girls and boys around her. Wait! BOYS!?!
Orr immediately opened her eyes to see herself laying curled up on the floor outside the common room alongside her fellow 'Claws. She realized that her dream hadn't been a dream after all.
"What just happened? Why are we locked out?" She asked the other students who looked as stunned as she was. Hogwarts might be the hub of magic but this was beyond weird.

Spike had been down in the greenhouses, as evidenced by the smears of dirt on his face and over his hands, and a confused look flickered across his face as he saw all the 'Claws outside the Common Room. That look soon turned to worry, since if they couldn't get the knocker's riddle, he didn't stand a chance of helping either. Spike and the knocker had had a stormy relationship since day one. He was sure the thing hadn't accepted how he'd made it into Ravenclaw, and gave him a particularly hard time about it.
"Whatchu all doing out here?" Spike asked generally to the crowd. "The knocker being mean with its riddle again?" ...or had something else happened?
