Divination was Kat's next class to attend. Not that she was disappointed or anything. Divination was fine, in Kat's opinion. She held no grudges or negative feelings for the class. It was just... neutral. Like that. The blonde entered the classroom. Brr... why was it cold? Oh right, cause it's still snowing but they're going to have a lesson outside. Jeeeeeez... what was wrong with their Divination professor? But, immediately Kat placed a smile on her face as she saw the professor in front.. "Good day, Professor Elwood." |
Sarah was glad the lesson was outside.. fresh aired class at last. "Hello" she greeted Elwood. She fingered her robes almost robotedly as she thought she was meant to be cold, yet she was not. This place must be charmed then to keep out the cold. Sarah thought. She wondered what this lesson would be on though... she could not wait to find out |
Brrr cold.... Bundled up in his thickest robes and scarf laced with a warming charm Vickers made his way towards the grounds. If there was a time when he valued having classes up in the Divination towers it was during the winter season. Suffice it to say having to go all the way out here when there could be a warm classroom waiting for them was leaving him a bit disgruntled. But he always has a ready smile for the blonde woman "Hello Professor Elwood..." he greeted her, his breath misty the air. It does seem to be a bit warmer nearer to where the Professor stood--did she radiate that much warmth and glow about her? He'd like to think so. |
Oh good a few more people had arrived. The class was still small but she assumed that was due to illness because of the winter months rather than her lesson being outside on this could wednesday. She raised her hands to gather them all in close to her again so they can go ahead and get started. "Alright now that we are all hear we can begin." She adjusted her scarf and went on. "Now I know that our warm classroom would be the ideal venue in your all's little heads for the class but the type of Divination we are doing today requires a larger area and preferably outside. Does anyone have any ideas what we are going to do today?" Easy question, what did they think. Professor Elwood watched them think it through with their rosey little noses in the cold. |

Elwood was obviously clinically insane. What in Merlin's name had prompted her to hold a lesson outside?? It was FREEZING! Alex hated the cold, it was only good for Christmas and then after that, it could just go straight back to summer as far as he was concerned. There seriously wasn't a single thing she could have planned that didn't involve the cold? Pulling his Hufflepuff scarf tighter around his neck, he raised his hand. "HOPEFULLY something to do with reading signs in a fire? I can't remember what it's called but I know you can do readings with flames," he said. If that wasn't what they were doing out here Alex was going to pitch a fit. |
..it was Cold. Elliot was shivering. And she didn't want to be here. So, of course, she was a bit grumbly. She crossed her arms over her chest and just stared at the Professor...why were they outside?! Elliot would like to know the same thing! Pfft. She didn't have a CLUE. Honestly, she didn't care. She was just here...for the...learning. Yep. Should she take out a notebook...? Nah. She shouldn't even bother. Divination wasn't something you took notes in, anyways..."Are we using sticks? Like...to predict things?" right it was a super lame guess..but her brain wasn't functional in this weather..."Burning them? reading the smoke?" ehh? Because a fire sure sounded NICE right now... *grumbles* |
SNOW! no fire! YAY~! Now this was a lesson Daichi would probably enjoy. He had not seen anything firey as of now so that was a good sign right? But still, it was a bit cold and the Slytherin shivered as he tried to keep his gloved hands warm. The green and silver scarf was wrapped around his neck and the duck hat he had gotten from Jonathan at the beginning of the year was on top of his head. What were they going to do this lesson? Daichi thought for an answer and as he thought he listened to his classmates as well. He froze for a second when a few of them mentioned fire or reading smoke signs and the Slytherin shook his head. "NO!" NO FIRE! NO SMOKE! NOTHING THAT INVOLVES FIRE! THE END! He had enough of classes where there was fire. DADA, CoMC and now this?! So pleeeease let those students be wrong! "Professor! If they are right with their fire thingies i am out of here!" Atleast she was warned. "So i'm hoping we are going to have a snowball fight and study the lines the balls fly to.. Snowball fight divination" legit right? |
FREEZING! LIKE SO COLD! WHY? Shivering like mad, Renesmee tried warming up her hands by rubbing them together. She had forgotten her gloves in her dorm and was now regretting doing so terribly. Too late she would just have to cope. What they would be doing in today's lesson? Hopefully something anything that would warm them up, but seeing as this was Divination and not some Survival in the Cold lesson, Nessie highly doubted it. Instead she looked around trying to come up with a more reasonable answer. The stones! The courtyard was filled with them! Maybe that could have been a reason? Hmm..Possibly. Nessie politely raised her hand and waited her turn. "Professor, are we doing something maybe with the courtyard stones?" She looked at the ground and eyed all the stones. |
The outside didn't bother Aidan. He quite liked the cold. There was no other, or better, way to pretend you were a dragon! And that's just what Aidan was doing, blowing his hot breath from his nose, accompanied by low grumbles. It was sort of difficult, because it was so cool and and he was having trouble keeping from grinning. But what were they going to learn. Outside. In the cold. He perked up at the snowball fight suggestion. THAT would be fun. OR, since he was already doing so, "DRAGON BREATH DIVINATION?!!" |

PFFT! That lion prefect could not be talking to her so Hannah just stared at her. It wasn't like the professor was teaching right now. She doubted that she could even hear them because she seemed to have a glazed look in her eyes as she stared at the sky. Odd woman, she was! Then she heard professor Elwood speak and it indeed seemed like she was paying attention. Lay in the snow? No Hannah liked the cold weather, but she was not going to simply lay in the snow. What was wrong with people? |
Tay nodded to Ethan when he said hello to her then smiled at Alexa before looking at the professor, "Are we watching the sky and/ or nature?" She looked at Elwood and smiled, hoping she was at least somewhat right. |
Anya raised her hand tentatively. "We're going to build a fire and take a nap." she suggested. Oh wait. She should mention something that actually had to do with divination. "Then we're going to interpret our dreams." Or continue to nap. She would obviously prefer napping the whole time. And she was so cold that she didn't even realize how her answer sounded. Heh. |
Asher just sat there. Most of the others if not all had been thinking. He couldn't help laughing at some of the answers. Some actually sounded nice. He narrowed down a few more in his head. "Ice sculptures?" He said after he raised his hand, That would explain why it was so darn cold. Very cold + ice = no melted ice. Yeah? "or ice readings?" He figured that since most of the other elements, had some type of readings to them why no ice. |
So...Ella was freezing. Like her teeth were chattering and she wanted to be anywhere else right now, preferably in front of a fire. Speaking of which, the third year perked up a bit at the mention of possibly working with fire. There was a brilliant idea! Grin. But honestly, the badger wondered if that was safe...like what if someone lit themselves on fire? That wouldn't be good. Shrug. As for what she thought they would be doing, Ella really didn't have the slightest clue. She eyed the courtyard before raising her hand. "Professor, maybe we'll be interpreting the patterns in the snow?" Yeah, seemed like a long shot but there were a lot of footprints and such on the ground. Eh. It could work. |
Large area. Outside. What made this form of divination unique that it had to be outside? Kurumi glanced around the area and, as much as she wished they would be doing Divination with fire, they didn't exactly have to be outside for that. "A form of Geomancy?" Kurumi asked with her hand raised. "I've read that you can use snow in the same respect as one would use sand in Geomancy." |
Totes missed the 1st question. What were they doing out here? She meant besides freezing themselves for no apparent reason right? She smirked at some of the comments that some of her fellow students were making...take a nap. Good one. Although how anybody could sleep out here was beyond her. "Look for signs in the sky." After all the professor was staring in the sky forever...maybe she was getting warmed up? |

"Are we going to use the snow for readings?'' Was that possible? "Or a reading with those stones, perhaps?'' |

Uhhh... Think, Kat, think. "Maybe Divination about seasons, weather, climate?" Really, Hudson, is that the best you can think of? Well, obviously the other students have gotten Kat's answers so... yeah this came up. |

Although the courtyard had been warmed slightly and she was wearing her thick robes with a big bundled scarf, Eliza still stood shivering. The cold was not something she enjoyed unless she had a thermos of hot chocolate or cider to drink while she was out. Why are we out here? At least if we were moving more we'd be warm... She wondered if the other students were right. Will we be interpreting clouds or snow? She didn't know much about the courtyard stones, but she herself had dreamt of clouds several times, so it made sense to her that they might learn to interpret them. Instead of repeating what others had said, she offered a slightly different answer. "Professor, could we be reading the wind? Maybe the sounds of it or what it stirs up?" Sort of Pocahontas style, but she really wasn't sure. |
They were starting? Awesome. Personally, whenever Elwood spoke the sixth year always took in everything that she said. Given Selina's personal interest in the subject, she was always eager to learn something new, especially from Elwood. So while everyone else was shivering and making indirect comments about how cold they were, Selina was just smiling broadly waiting for the lesson to start. And now it was, which MEANT that she got to learn about Divination, which was brilliant. But when she asked what they would be learning about, Selina really had no answer for her. She could make tons of guesses about the numerous forms of nature divination they could be doing, but that would take forever and the only other person who would ACTUALLY be interested in hearing her speak would be Elwood. Since they liked Divination. So she just kept her mouth shut. |
