The chill November air was definately hanging around the Divination Tower but once you ascended the ladder into the classroom the heat from the firegrate, being trapped in the room with the window-coverings, assured you this class was definately going to be a stifling one. The room was dark, apart from a few candles here and there so watch your step as you find you way to a table.
Professor Elwood was no where to be seen but you can bet she will be there soon so there had better be no funny business, besides her parrot, Galileo was there watching.
OCC: Come on in and take a seat. The lesson won't start for a while so there's plenty of time to post. Prof. Elwood doesn't appear to be there yet but don't try anything, Prefects will be in charge until she shows up. Enjoy.

Oh great they were going to be telling each other their dreams. That just sounded like such great fun. Of course Hannah was being sarcastic...wasn't she always. She must have dozed off for a minute because she realized that she needed a partner and it seemed like everybody already had one.
Who still needs a partner?" Ugh. Hannah didn't like working with just anyone and since Elliot decided to partner with somebody else without first asking her permission she wasn't left with a whole lot of options.

Taking the seat next to her she smiled, "Hello, I'm Minerva, but you can call me Minnie. What's your name?" She hadn't working with many slytherin other then her best friend so it was nice to see another snake wanted to play nice.
"So we have to look at our dreams." Minerva smiled at the girl and opened her book. "Why don't you tell me your dream first and I can search for it. Then we can do mine." Minerva figured as screwed up as her dreams were lately that maybe it would be easier to talk about the other girls first.
"Sexist? Dear, I think you are reading too far into the wording it is much like the idea of saying 'him' or 'his' when talking about things in other subjects. And like I mentioned to another student, oftentimes dream analysis does have bad connotations because the brain likes to warn us of incoming danger more so than rewards. A survival technique." She hoped the girl understood that she, a woman professor, wouldn't waste time teaching them a sexist subject.
She was a bit surprised when the teacher said she was reading too far into the wording. Wasn't that what this was about? Reading into everything? Well I still know that it said women specifically, not the standard he or his like I've seen in other texts... She shrugged. She'd let it go. She was sure the professor didn't support that kind of thinking, she just was a bit irritated by it. Why can't dreams ever pop in to say 'Hey, you're going to have a great day!'?" she wondered. Oh well, moving on.

She looked around her desk as instructed, but really doubted anyone would find that brooch. If this brooch is worth so much trouble, I doubt it would've just fallen off randomly. She ducked her head down to peer across the floor of the room. Wow it's so much cooler down here! she thought. And why would the Headmistress have been in the Divination tower anyway? She didn't picture her as the type to come ask for a reading, but maybe she was wrong.
With no sign of the brooch anywhere, she sat back up and looked around for a partner. At least we get to lie on the cool ground for this part
Eliza looked around the room to find someone who still needed a partner. There was a Hufflepuff who looked in need, so she walked over to her and said, "Hi, I'm Eliza. Do you still need a partner?" She hoped the girl would accept. Everyone needed a partner so it might as well be Eliza right? Even if she was only a first year.

Right, so they would be sharing dreams with a partner? Ella looked around, noting that lots of her classmates had already partnered up. Meep. That wasn't good. The third year stood up and looked around, deciding it was best to just see if anyone else was left partnerless. "I um...Anyone still need a partner?" Pretty please with a cherry on top?

Ella smiled at the younger girl, nodding her head. "Hi Eliza, I'm Ella." And together they were Double E, heh. "Yeah I do, thanks. I was worried everyone was already taken." In which case she would have probably had to analyze her own dream, which was definitely not as fun. "I'll share my dream first if you want, it's not very long or anything."
The third year lay down on the floor, looking up at Eliza with an amused smile on her face. "This is kind of weird." She said sheepishly, before closing her eyes. "So um...here I go." And the badger focused on trying to remember her dream so she could describe it as best she could.
"Alright so I dreamt that my brother and I woke up really early in the morning, like when it was still dark out. He's little but he really wanted to learn to fly so I took him out in our backyard and tried teaching him. He kept falling off the broom and into the grass but he never got hurt or anything...During the lesson by dog, Dino, came running out of the house and tried to take my broom. And then Caleb started to cry and I took him inside and made him hot chocolate and we sat in the kitchen drinking and eating cookies..." So yeah, all in all not that interesting of a dream..."I um...yeah, so that was mine."

Minerva smiled as the girl said her name, "Nice to meet you Jen." Then she saw the girl thinking, this was good they were getting right down to work. Yes, that's what Minerva liked working. Taking her parchment she smiled and was ready to write the details of the dream, but there wasn't much going on. No matter, maybe Jen just couldn't remember it all or maybe they wouldn't need that much information.
"Well let's see, Monkeys.. Let's look at that first." Minerva opened the book and began to look for information. It was an interesting dream though, at a zoo with Monkeys. That sounded fun. "So the book says to dream of a monkey you will be flattered by deceitful people." Minerva frowned at this. "Maybe you should watch out for people for awhile." yes that sounded like good advice Minerva thought. "The deceitful people are just trying to advance their own interest, still not a good thing." Minerva continued to look up the Monkey.

Minerva shook her head at the poor girl. She wasn't sure if she really believed in the whole dreams tell you things, but if they did Jen probably really should watch out for people for at least a little while. Minerva looked at her book again and then giggled a bit, "Well here it might be different. It says if a young girl, such as your self, dreams of a monkey they should insist on marriage early." **giggles** "So you can decide which one it might be. Let's look at the zoo and see if there is anything that makes this change."
Minerva turned the pages to see if they book had anything on zoo's or places people would go see a zoo. She tried to hold in the giggles about the marriage part though. Who would have ever thought a monkey would represent marriage. That was just a little odd.

"Getting Married early huh? I like that idea better. How about..." She noticed her looking in the book
"Need some help there?"
Laura looked at Nigel and smiled. "Well a eagle means that you are going to have ambition." Laura giggled. "Yeah maybe you will try and become the biggest troublemaker this school has ever seen." Laura thought that would be a great idea. "I haven't got any idea what seeing one killing a sea-moster means since there isn't anything for sea-moster." Laura sighed, why was that the case a good one like that not being in the book.
Well, that did sound like something worth being, As long as he did not get expelled. "That does sound like fun" Nigel said nodding. He did have to work on being sneakier, so he did not get caught. But there was nothing in the book for Sea creature. Well at least two thing were.
Nigel leans forward and whispers. "Make something up. It is the last thing. Just say it was a teacher or something."
Nigel still thought the sea creature was Professor Elwood. But he was not going to say it outloud.

Laura looked at Nigel and smiled. "Well the sea-moster is teaching." Laura sighed, she didn't like making things up but here goes. "I've got it." Laura suddenly started giggling and it took her awhile to stop enough to tell Nigel what she had been thinking.
"Well as I said the seamonster is teaching, and since you have the eagle killing the seamonster, it means that you are going to drive people crazy by teaching other students how to be troublemakers and that you are going to win a battle with some sort of studying." Laura giggled, see that was just the best made up idea ever.

At the Professor's prompt, Ethan gave a cursory glance at the floor around his table. Um... no, he didn't see a brooch laying around... it was too dark to see anyway! Thankful for the interruption to be over, he looked up again as the woman mentioned partners... They had to share and analyze their dreams with each other? Ugh. Not something the fifth year was really looking forward to - sharing deep, personal thoughts with any of his classmates.
Ethan gave a brief glance around the room. He saw only a few familiar faces... all of whom were already pairing up with others. Looking for someone still in need of a partner, he spotted a Slytherin girl by herself. Wasn't she a friend of Elliot's? He was fairly certain he had seen her in another class and when he heard her ask to pair up with someone, Ethan headed her way. "Hey, I still need a partner... want to work together?"

Minerva looked up, "Where you going to say something? Sorry I get so involved with my books I forget things at times." She smiled at Jen. "Which side do you think this monkey was on. Marriage early? Or maybe an enemy?"
She looked back into the book, "Well this is interesting." she frowned a bit, "To dream of a zoo means a person's enemies will over power them." she didn't like that, that would mean the monkey could be about the enemies as well. Then she got excited, "Wait.. It says that in the end you will be successful and will have a varied fortune."
Elliot, still sitting up a bit, propped on her elbows, listened...and a weird look came over her face. WHOA. It was crazy right...the first choice.."Wait, let me see that," she grabbed Ariana's book from her hand, her blue eyes furiuosly scanning the page...FORESTS: she found it. "The first part, for sure. With the family problems," she nodded, her face suddenly very hard. "Weird." And it had been a dense forest...and it just seemed to all fit.
Wah.
She didn't her family life could get any worse...this was great...well, she didn't HAVE to put much store to this...who said this was all correct, anyways? But...well....it was all too right. She wrote own the last bit about the forests...great. GREAT.
WAHHHH!
So her notes looked like:
And hey...number one and three totally were contradictory...hmm..this confused Elliot..she furrowed her eyebrows...and shot Ariana a puzzled look.
Looking a bit thrown off, she sighed.
Ariana looked down at the girl
SIGH
"My turn... UP." she told the not so smart ravenclaw.. Hopefully she knew what that meant.
the girl waited for her to get up off the floor before she laid down. "Are you ready Empress?" she said mockign the girl in a way. cause merlin help us is she wasnt ready

Right.
So Sierra needed a partner...AND FAST. The activity had been going on for quite some time now, and she was still standing there looking around the room.
"Err, does anybody still need a partner?" she finally asked. ...because a partner was right here. Just...standing here. Looking awkward, yup.

Only the sound of a pair of thumping high heels preceded the Headmistress' arrival into the Divination classroom, an arrival that could more precisely be called 'bursting through the trapdoor with a head full of flaming red hair.'
"Proooooofesssor Elwoooooood," the redhead gasped, half out of breath from the climb up. She dramatically pointed one long, red fingernail straight at the other woman as she hung onto the trapdoor still. "A word with youuu, if you pleeeeease."
It was only as she was waiting for the Divination professor to respond that the redhead noticed a) the House Elf and b) all the students lying down. Wha....huh? She raised her voice an octave and straightened up from the entrance/exit.
"What in Merlin's Beard is going ON HERE?"

Yeah that would be a clear explanation.
Minerva looked at the book again, "Well even if it is an enemy, with the way this sounds. They are going to try and...." just then she heard tapping loud tapping, shoes coming from... She looked at the door just as a lady with red hair came through the door. Not being at the feast Minerva wasn't sure who she was at first. Why on earth would someone just interrupt class like that. First the poor house elf now this. Then something hit Minerva, the brooch the elf was looking for, there was a new head this year, a mistress.. This must be here. Minerva quickly changed her look and looked back at her book.
Looking around the room she wondered what would make the headmistress so upset. They were doing their activity with their partners, yes the elf was still looking around for the brooch, but the students were busy with their work, wouldn't that make her happy. Minerva didn't want to stare so she looked back to her book quickly. "Ok, as I was saying, it looks like your enemies will be coming to pretend to be nice so they get gain on you, but in the end you will win and have a fortune." she smiled at Jen, that didn't sound to bad. "Either that or your future husband might first be your enemy, but will end up being your husband and you both will be successful." That sounded kind of fun as well.

After she told the dream, she kind of blushed. "Yeah that is all..." Belle said after she told Cardigan her dream.
....How interesting.
It did, though, seem like a common type of dream. She'd had dreams like that before, though she was the only one being dragged down...
Now, on to the interpretations!!!
"I think that Monster, Family, and Ocean are your three most important details." One, it could be anything dragging you down. Two, it could be anybody with you. Three, it could be any body of water. Making sense so far? "Okay, for monster..." She flipped through the book to the M's flipping through the pages until she got to Monster. Oh, okay... "Here's what it says about Monsters: 'To dream of being pursued by a monster, denotes that sorrow and misfortune hold prominent places in your immediate future. To slay a monster, denotes that you will successfully cope with enemies and rise to eminent positions.' Though in your case, I think it would be being pursued." That seemed about right, seeing there wasn't anything specific about being dragged under water...
Cardigan flipped forward in the book, going back towards the F's. Next on the list was Family! There! She had found it on the very first page, right near the top. Easy enough! "And this is what it says about family: 'To dream of one's family as harmonious and happy, is significant of health and easy circumstances; but if there is sickness or contentions, it forebodes gloom and disappointment.' Yet for you, I think it's the sickness and contentions one." Sorry Belle!
She grabbed a chunk of the pages, and flipped! Amazingly enough, she had flipped back to the exact first page of the O's, then meaning Ocean would be on the next page. And yes it was! This is what it said... "And, finally, this is what it says about Oceans! It's kinda long, so I'll just read the part that applies to you: 'To be far out on the ocean, and hear the waves lash the ship, forebodes disaster in business life, and quarrels and stormy periods in the household.' That doesn't really work so well, but it's better than the others." The others wouldn't work at all!!
Closing her textbook and setting it aside, she said, "What do ya think? Ready to switch?"
Hannah turned her head in the direction of the voice. Her piercing green eyes made contact with an older claw. She looked him and up and down with a raised eyebrow. She did this to everybody who she met...proper procedure and all. She had to resist a smile though because the older claw was quite handsome. Merlin! What was wrong with her lately?

Ethan did his best to suppress the grin that was threatening to appear on his lips as he waited patiently in front of the girl. He felt that she was sizing him up a bit before deciding to partner with him - and he found the idea to be remotely amusing. And apparently he was deemed worthy as she finally agreed.
"I am Ethan..." he replied to her question. "Nice to meet you, Hannah," the boy gave the Slytherin a polite nod and friendly smile. And, oh... good, she was ready to get to work. Normally, he would have said Ladies first... but as it seemed that many were finishing up and he was already at her desk with her dream book opened... he thought it best to get started with his dream and she could analyze.
Pulling over a nearby empty chair, Ethan sat down and leaned back (he would not be lying on the floor as the professor suggested!). "Would you mind analyzing first?" he asked Hannah and then shut his eyes. Okay... what was a recent dream he had that wasn't too personal? Oh right... "Okay, in my dream I was asked to be a substitute teacher in a Herbology class for very young witches and wizards... I think these kids were seven or eight. Anyway, the other teachers of the school kept checking up on me... like they didn't trust me to do a good job. And I guess I wasn't because a lot of the kids didn't want to listen to me... I don't think we actually did do anything with the plants." Ethan opened one eye to peek at the girl. What would she make of that?

"You're most welcome,'' the badger said cheerfully as he closed his text book. "Actually, I have. I started to remember as I was looking up your symbols in the text.'' He had seen the word locket and everything started coming back bit by bit.
"My turn to lie down.'' This was awkward. He lay on his back and linked his fingers behind his head. "Okay, so I dreamt I was floating with the clouds,'' Jory began and thinking how silly that sounded. "There was jazz music in the background.'' He wasn't a fan of jazz music one bit. "As I was floating, I noticed a heart shaped locket on a purple pillow a good distance from where I was. I tried to go after it but I couldn't move an inch.'' Yup, the lockett and pillow both stayed the distance away fom him.
He looked at Kurumi. "So the symbols would be cloud, music, pillow and locket, right?''
Oops. Kurumi hadn't really given the Hufflepuff warning that she was rather grumpy when it came to this subject. "Oh no, I didn't mean that you thought I would dream about something like that," Kurumi said while somewhat flailing her arms around a little. Just going to drop that subject for now. Kurumi didn't really have anything good to say about the topic anyway. Heh.
Pushing herself up off the ground, Kurumi took her parchment back and picked up her own quill to write down a few notes about what Jory had said about her dream before grabbing her own textbook and a spare piece of parchment to write about his dream.
Time to take this somewhat seriously, right?
"Floating?" Kurumi repeated as she flipped through the text a bit. That was the same as flying, right? Or was floating listed in here as well. Kurumi's quill flew over her parchment and paused just long enough to hear what Jory asked. "You can't ignore that you were floating in the air, so that is included...probably the biggest symbol in your dream really." Since, you know, one just didn't float.
Flip flip flip flip.
Kurumi was still flipping through her textbook when the Headmistress appeared, catching her attention instantly. A word? With Professor Looneywood? Bet the woman didn't SEE this one coming.
Biting her lip for a moment to hide her smirk, Kurumi shoved her nose back in her textbook and flipped through some more pages. The Headmistress didn't seem too pleased with the scene in front of her, which would only mean good things, yes? Like...telling Professor Elwood her subject was madness? Yes?
"Hello, Headmistress," Kurumi greeted with a small bow of the head. Were they supposed to answer her question? Seemed rude to ignore the woman after she had shouted. "We are practicing Oneiromancy."
Eyes back on her textbook, Kurumi eventually found what she was looking for. "You say floating, right? Not flying? I only ask because there is a distinct different between the two actions," Kurumi noted as she tapped her textbook. "Floating means that you will victoriously overcome obstacles which are seemingly overwhelming you." But then the next bit confused her, talking about water. "Or maybe this only applies to floating in water..." Cue some more flipping. Stupid subject.
And the flying section was LONG. Merlin help her. "Um...no wings, I assume, right?" And he had been in the clouds...so none of this low flying business and he hadn't mentioned trees and what not...so that was out as well. "Well...it could either mean what I said about floating...or marital calamities...unless you saw the sun while you were floating, erm, flying...and then that implies useless worries, as your affairs will succeed despite your fears of evil" Case point? Jory needed to stop worrying about stuff.
VAAAAAAAAAAAAAGUE subject.
