The chill November air was definately hanging around the Divination Tower but once you ascended the ladder into the classroom the heat from the firegrate, being trapped in the room with the window-coverings, assured you this class was definately going to be a stifling one. The room was dark, apart from a few candles here and there so watch your step as you find you way to a table.
Professor Elwood was no where to be seen but you can bet she will be there soon so there had better be no funny business, besides her parrot, Galileo was there watching.
OCC: Come on in and take a seat. The lesson won't start for a while so there's plenty of time to post. Prof. Elwood doesn't appear to be there yet but don't try anything, Prefects will be in charge until she shows up. Enjoy.

Hannah walked up to the classroom. Ugh! Divination was absolutely one class that she didn't like at all. Complete rubbish if you ask her. She spotted Elliot and went to sit by her. She knew without having to ask that Elliot too would think that the subject was rubbish. "Hello Morganzo."
Come to think of it Hannah didn't see the professor at all. Hmm...that seemed a bit weird.

Morganzo.
"Yes, that's my name," she smirked, turning her head slightly to look at Hannah..."This is my first Divination class..." she muttered, eye roll, scowl, the usual Elliot facial things.
And she absolutely HAD to tell Hannah what was going on...but since they were both soooo busy with classes and homework..."I have to tell you something important!" she said softly, but urgently. She quickly opened her notebook....and took out her quill...she preferred to write it than say it...less weird.
because it was weird. Elliot scribbled something down, quickly, and shoved it practically under Hannah's nose...she made sure the professor wasn't here yet...good, she wasn't...
The parchment said, very clearly and neatly, 'I have a boyfriend...'
Ahem. Elliot felt her cheeks flush.

Divination.
This class was going to be something new for Richard Turner as he had never participated in a class with the subject. His previous school perhaps had Divination classes, Rich did not know, he just never checked or looked for one. So, this one was totally going to be something very new to him. Even though Divination sounded like it was for girls, he was still a little bit curious about it. Learning how to tell future. Was that even possible? He was going to see.
Upon walking into the class, he realised that there was no professor. Maybe the man or woman had not come in yet. That he could understand. So adjusting his school bag on his right shoulder, he went forward and chose a seat for himself.

Sierra climbed the last step of the ladder then lifted herself into the Divination class. DEAR MERLIN. Hadn't Professor Ellwood ever heard of a CHARM?! Surely there was something she could have done to keep the room from feeling like it was floating in a fireplace.
Divination was so not worth this heat. Sierra only took the class because her mother made her. Apparently, the Minister's daughter had to be well-rounded. Whatever. What was Divination supposed to teach her anyway? How to be well-rounded with a crystal ball? Nah. That'd just make her look looney.
She did her best to wade through the students already in there, and then found herself a seat in the middle of the room.

Ella was sitting quietly when someone greeted shouted at her from across the room. She didn't even need to be able to see him to know who it was, only Theodore would do something like this. Heh. "Hi Theo!" Ella said equally as cheerfully but not quite as loud. She didn't want to hurt anyone's ears or anything. Oh! And Alice, Blue, and Kurumi were here too. They all got smiles from the third year though she wasn't sure they could actually see them, considering how dark the room was. Oh well. It was the thought that counted, right?
...And someone was going to join her soon, yeah? Cause sitting at the table all by herself and in the dark was a bit creepy. Just saying.

She sat down in her seat and took some notes out of her satchel, this why she revised what she had learned so far in divination as well as ding some textbook reading. Divinition was one of the subjects Sarah had not done a lot of background reading on during the holidays.

Seriously. WHERE was the professor? She was bored and the heat was really starting to get to her. Abby leaned back against her seat and sighed. This was going to be a really long lesson. She knew it.
Catching the wave and greeting from the second year, Gideon waved back to Sarah, not saying anything seeing as she seemed already moved on to Kurumi. No problemo, he normally wasn't the chattiest anyway.
Yeah it was definantly warm in here, the prefect mused, most of the class seeming feeling it as well. slipping off his robe , Gideon let it rest back on the chair behind him. Uniform was good enough, there was no sense in sweltering and being uncomfortable. This certainly wasn't charms class where they had to be perfect.
It seemed he had been correct in her name for at least she didn't correct him. However when she returned the gesture with his own name, Gideon bit back a groan. Not Giddy...what was with that nickname. "Aye...though I prefer Gideon," he said, willing himself to be calm and polite about it. He let Selina and Violet get away with it but they were more his friends.

Anya came into the divination class and looked around. Was it just her... or was it STIFLING in here?
She looked around to greet the Professor, but when she didn't find one, she just headed to a seat.
She shrugged off her cloak, and robe, and rolled up her sleeves. Yeah. She was still hot. What were the chances this lesson was about how to predict things using a nice breeze?

Dylan sighed. Was it that time again? This had been the class that had nearly took his life last term. Was the Captain prepared to brave the possible danger?
Game on.
Good news about this one? It was inside. So, not too much could really happen. As he made his way up and into the classroom, the Slytherin noticed how dark it was and paused. Perhaps he'd spoken too soon?
Taking a seat, Dylan searched for the Professor and didn't see her...Hmm, odd.

Minerva made her way to the Divination's classroom. She had always liked this class and some of the activities last term were very interesting to say the least. She walked into the classroom and was stopped by the darkness. Letting her eyes adjust for a few moments before continuing in. Hmmm.. she thought the professor wasn't there yet, that was always a shock when she went into a class and there was no professor to be found. Shrugging she went and found her seat smiling at some of her friends and pulling out her parchment to get ready for when the class did start.
Jasmine peeked into the Divination classroom and saw that there were quite a few students already present. So much for getting here before anyone..blasted moving staircases got her everytime! Letting out a heavy sigh, she shoved her book bag further up her shoulder and entered as quietly as possible so not to draw attention to herself.
Her blue-green eyes took a few seconds to scan the room until she spotted a somewhat empty area toward the back. Head down so her long dark hair covered her face, she carefully made her way through the students already there to a back table. She was about to congratulate herself for making it there without causing unwanted attention to herself when her foot caught on someones bookbag. Letting out a small squeak she stumbled foward and made a quite spectacular landing onto one of the chairs by the table to which she was headed. Her rough landing caused her bookbag to slide off her shoulder and land with a loud thud beside her and uniform to become slightly askew.
Closing her eyes a moment to fully appreciate her mortification, Jasmine soon opened them and casually pushed her hair off her face before straightening her skirt and tie. Blushing, she avoided any eye contact in case anyone was gawking at her and retrieved her quill and some parchment from her fallen bag.
Taking a chance and looking up she noticed he Professor was not yet here and took a deep breath to calm her nerves. She really did not know what to expect from this class but she hoped she would do well.
Annabelle found her way to the Divination tower. She was out of breath and was sweating through her robes. She wasn't used to climb up the stairs but she will be soon enough. When the prefect made her way to the classroom, she saw many of her fellow classmates. She saw a sign saying the prefect's were in charge. Belle was going to act like it. Belle made her way to an empty seat and took out her parchment ready to learn.
Why did the Divination classroom look so...so dark...AND BLOODY HELL WAS IT HOT!! And wait a minute...where was the professor? Hmm. She started to think that maybe she was in the wrong place until she noticed more students in the lightly lit room. Does this professor not know about electricity or something...what am i getting myself into? Finding somewhere to sit she plopped down in her seat and ran her fingers through her hair. Merlin only knew what she was getting herself into with this class. She really didn't know what was going to be worse? The heat or her not so good knowledge of divination? Yeah, yeah it was going to be the heat.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Jory made his way to the Divination classroom. Honestly, he didn't know how he ended up as one of the best students for the subject last year. It had been a genuine surprise. But he intended to keep up the hard work.
As he walked into the room, he looked around expecting to see the Professor but she wasn't there so he just went to find himself a seat.
He prefered Gideon? Yeah, well. Abby didn't ask if he prefered Gideon. She called people what she wanted and they just had to deal with it. "How about Gids? Is that better?" He was getting to choose now. If he didn't like Gids, Giddy it is.
Anyway, this place was really starting to suffocate her now. It was way too warm and the fact that the place was really dark didn't help things either. There were a few candles here and there but the classroom wasn't bright enough. Sighing, she ran a hand through her hair and hoped that class would begin really soon.
Surya has finally reached his destination. It took him a lot of time to walk up till here. As he entered the classroom, "Good Day Profe...", he paused. There was no professor in the class. She may arrive in a few minutes. He took a seat and looked around the strangest looking class.
"Hey Sarah," Kurumi smiled as she waved to the little first year as she entered. "Hey, thanks for walking with me back to the dorms after Transfiguration. I owe you cookies."
Sarah grinned back at the prefect, her inside welling with happiness and pride. " It was nothing. I was going there anyway! And besides it was AWESOME walking back with you!" They had talked a ot with each other on the way back. KURUMI WAS THE BESTEST!
Cookies. COOKIES! COOKIES! Apparently it was more polite to say no thank you, even if you really wanted the cookies. Yet Sarah did not ike lying, she liked to say what she thought. "Cookies would be awesome!" then she added an unusual request, "Can i help you make them? I like licking the batter". Confession: by helping Sarah actually meant watching and pinching some dough away, licking the batter and then taking the undeserved bounty in the end.
Then Sarah noticed someother second years. "Hey Cassia. Hello Blue!" and of course some lions, "Hi Anya!"

When Kat entered the classroom, the first thought of Kat was how hot the room was. "Seriously, I never thought the Divination Room could get any hotter than now..." Kat said in a tone even lower than a whisper. As long as she could here it alone.
No professor? Where did Professor Elwood go? Taking a seat, Kat looked around and saw chatting students. Kat knew some of them. There's the Lion Prefection Kurumi, little Sarah Edwards, Dylan the Quidditch Captain, oh no there's Elliot the girl-I-don't-really-trust, and others. Sitting there quietly, she just let her daydreams take her to wherever it desires.

Sweat. Sweat. Sweat. Beezus quickly wiped the sweat on her brow as she emerged from the ladder and strutted into the classroom. She had just came from the Greenhouses and had to literally run up to the Divination Tower in order for her not to miss the lesson. And she was welcomed by this? Hot-hot-hot atmosphere? BLEH.
Sighing heavily, she eyed her peers who were already there. Mmhm. Yet it seems like Professor Elwood was nowhere in sight yet. Or was she hiding behind some crystal balls?
She could be.
Alas, Beezus was more attentive in getting rid of the fluid trickling on her face. She pulled out her handkerchief, wiped her forehead, neck, and nape. Then she took off her schoolbag's strap and placed it beside her as she sat next to Sierra. "Why is it so hot?" she mumbled irritably, still wiping off sweat.

Hannah was enjoying Elliots sarcasm. "I went to one class last year and never returned." She would soon find out why. Still Hannah did not have a choice his year. She had to attend every last bloody class.
Sigh!
Something important huh? Everything was important to her friend. Not that, that was a bad thing. Everything in their life was important. They were noble for crying out loud.
She noticed Elliot jotting something down on a piece of paper. Man it must be really important. Hannah took the note and read it quickly. Elliot had a boyfriend? O___O Blink. Blink. Really?
Hannah didn't even know how to process this. On the same note she jotted down. Who, what, when, where & why? We need to talk!!! Oh yes just simply telling her that she had a boyfriend was sooo not going to cut it!
Divination. Hopefully this term there wouldn't be any fainting, nor Bowtruckles. Silly little creatures those things were.
Today though, the Divination classroom seemed totally harmless, besides for the darkness of the room. Did the Professor realize that people needed to move around to get to their places? Probably not. Thinking of the Professor, where was she?
Hmmm...
Maybe it was just too dark to actually see her. Oh well, it didn't bother Ness where she was anyways. What she was more worried about was getting a good spot. She scanned the room and began looking for anyone she knew ...particularly Logan.

Divination was not a subject Terry was prepared to excel at. His mother hadn't been particularly interested in it and hadn't taken the time to teach him anything practical, she wasn't a seer after all. He knew a couple of basics, some theory behind it and what it was all about and so he entered with an open mind, he would be ready to learn and willing to work. As long as the task wasn't too difficult for him that was.
He wandered across, looking out for familiar people though he didn't really know anyone really well, apart from Theo but he looked busy or something. Instead he just sat near the front where he could see well and waited to see if anyone would speak to him. The lesson would start soon anyway but if he needed a partner, he hoped that someone would pay attention to him. He liked meeting new people after all and he was perfectly willing to make new friends.

Sierra was still sitting there feeling as if death would come to her soon. Seriously, Ellwood?! REALLY?! Sierra wondered if the woman would mind if she placed some kind of cooling charm on the area? She sort of fumbled with her wand a bit, thinking it over. Maybe...
Then Beezus plopped down next to her, and although Sierra wasn't up to talking, she had to agree with the Ravenclaw. "I don't know, but I'm considering casting a cooling charm," she said. The only thing is...what if Ellwood needed it that way for the lesson?
Sierra should just convince Beezus to do it. That way, if Ellwood needed it hot, Beezus would be the one to get in trouble.

Cooling Charm? Oh? Yeah, that might help. "Okay..." She pondered on this for a moment. What if Professor Elwood gets mad that they alter the temperature of the classroom? But naaah, magic was supposed to be aiding them in situations where they feel threatened or uncomfortable, yes? Well, she was feeling both right now. Surely the Slytherin was too, so... "Do iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit." She told her, kind of grimacing right now as deliberately took off her robes then placed it on her lap.
Professor Elwood didn't seem to be in the room but she WAS...
Because of the light being so dim, her Galileo playing his part of showy bird distraction, and the overall unawareness of their surroundings a student usually has were working perfectly for Callie's plan. The blonde was hiding behind the arm chair at the front of the class so that no one could see her and ruin her lesson introduction. As she heard the students enter and complain about the heat she grinned mischeviously and placed her wand to her throat whispering, "Sonoros."
Suddenly a breeze went through the room, created by the professor to NOT make it cooler but to just blow out a few of the candles making it a tad darker than before. Creeeeeeeeepy. Now Elwood's voice floated into the classroom.
"Dreeaaamss! They become your reality when you go to sleep." she started, still behind her chair. "You can fly, you can walk on water, faires live among you," with that a sparkling of pink dust and light appeared to fall from the ceiling, "and dragons breath fire as you ride them." A huge flame tore across the ceiling and extinguished as it hit the far wall. Yes, she had been practicing that for weeks.
She undid the voice raising spell and spoke in her normal voice again. "Dreams." Professor Elwood popped up from behind her chair wishing she had her banshee costume from last term and grinned with a little pose to show how she suprised them. "They are also the window to the future in some cases. It's good to see you all here this afternoon and I am happy to see plenty of familiar faces." She winked and nodded at Kurumi, Loiusa, Sierra, Jory, the fainting girl from the Oghamn stave lesson, and others--a good batch of kids.
She needed to go on. The woman used her wand to light a few more candles returning the light to the original dimness as before she blew them out and sat down in her armchair. "What do you all know about dream Divination?"
OCC: The lesson has officially started. No more posting your character arriving late or points will be taken; just pretend you've been here since the beginning.
Merlin, it was hot in here... Ethan was in the process of loosening his necktie when he was startled by a sudden and very loud voice that nearly made him fall out of his chair. He squinted his eyes, looking for the source of the voice, when a flame shot across the room. What kind of crazy class was this? Ethan was contemplating getting up and leaving when the professor appeared. The Ravenclaw raised an eyebrow at her appearance and chuckled lightly in bewildered amusement. This woman was bizarre.
Ethan listened as she spoke, then raised his hand. He was somewhat familiar with the topic as they had covered it a bit at Beauxbatons. "Dream divination, or Oneiromancy, is a way of foreseeing future events from your dreams." That was the gist of it, anyway.
