Dervish and Banges is a small, dusky little outlet located at the end of the street in Hogsmeade. Squatting between a few wooden pillars painted to look like marble, the green and gold building seems to be more of a remodeled mausoleum than a Wizarding place of business. As you enter the hideous, peeling green door and inhale the thick scent of sawdust and mildew, you'll likely question whether or not the shop actually was a mausoleum at some point.
Squeaky floorboards, musty smells, and creepy feelings aside, the place may appear to be in an eternal state of decay, but the sagging shelves stocked full of shiny, brand or like-new knickknacks say otherwise. The shop sells both new and reconditioned items of both the Wizard and Muggle variety, such as...
Do-It-Yourself Cauldron Repair Kits (or for a fee, D&B will do it for you!)
Take your time, walk around, pick up one of the coupons off the back counter, and try to not be intimidated by that looming shopkeeper just behind it at the back. He doesn't talk much, but he's got it where it counts, kid. Oh, and don't steal anything. Roundhouse kicks to the face are not fun....for you.
Another weekend, another group o' kiddies comin' inter the village. Only none were here, o'course, b'cause... they never were. Saul just sighed to himself and flipped another page of his wizarding tool catalog. No one ever came inter' his shop, an' he was used ter it. Sure, he could be nicer ter the customers, draw in more business, advertise n such, but then...
That'd mean he actually had to do some work. So Saul preferred to just fix things up fer the mail-order folks, when he had 'em, and spend the rest of his time hemmin' and hawin' around Hogsmeade.

As it was between Quidditch Cups right now, there wasn't really much needed for her from the Portree players, which left her with a bit of free time. For once, her children were even behaving, which led Amelia into the village which wasn't terribly far from their current residence in Scotland. Albeit, it was a village that she hadn't spent much time in since her own Hogwarts days. At least not while the students were present.
As it was, she wouldn't even have bothered to go now, if it wasn't for the fact that the kids were bugging her for something new to play with. And Diagon Alley was too far, so Hogsmeade it was. While she was debating on what to get them, there was a strange tug on her heartstrings toward Dervish and Banges. If it wasn't for what happened in this store so many years ago, then she might not have ended up married to Tancred. She may have - Merlin forbid - ended up with Marco!
Just a quick peek, she told herself, as she pulled open the door and stood in the doorway, her green eyes flickering around the empty store for several moments. This is stupid, unless Chloe or Robert need a remembrall or a sneakoscope. Actually, she might need the latter....

Between her studio in London, visits to Elizabeth in the countryside, and her home in Wales, Rhiannon felt oddly torn. She was at least getting out of the house, but that didn't change the feeling of loneliness. Especially since Faylinn was getting older, and therefore the house elf was staying to herself more. And the animals didn't help, even though she'd replaced Sparky with another puppy after he'd died just because she had gotten used to having a dog around. Maybe she still was a bit uncomfortable alone in her home, even after so many years of nothing happening, but she also wasn't going to take her cousin up on the offer to move into the Chambers home with her and little Dylan. She was still independent enough to want her own home, and that was the house in Wales.
Even if that meant Apparating into Hogsmeade was taking her further than she really needed to go to find a little toy or something for her neice. Just because, since Dylan's birthday wasn't for months yet. She had a feeling the little girl missed her daddy, who once again was away with his team and Elizabeth had chosen to stay home for a while. A plaything would be nice, even if it occupied her cousin instead of her cousin's daughter. Maybe I'll stop into Scrivenshaft's and look at inks while I'm here, too. I should replenish my sketching things, she thought. However, as she'd turned to head into Dervish and Banges to start her search, the blonde promptly ran into another woman just standing in the doorway. "Oh, I'm so sorry," she said, before really getting a good look at the other woman. She definitely looked familiar. Older, but still familiar. "Mia?"

Out and about running errands and getting some fresh air for the first time in quite a few weeks since the arrival of both her daughter and Alexis' son, which had kept everybody involved pretty busy, Savannah was beginning to prepare for going back to work in just a couple of days time. Which also meant, spending as much time as possible with her family. With the girls safe and sound at home having a 'Daddy and Daughters' day, Vannah was able to take her little man along, just the two of them. It wasn't often lately that she had the opportunity to have time alone with him, something she and Curt tried doing for each of the kids as much as they could, so today would be nice.
Double checking that his jacket was zipped and fitting snuggly, Vannah shifted the toddler on her hip as she walked down the familiar cobblestone path of Hogsmeade village. It had been a long, long time since she had last been here.. during seventh year, to be exact. They hadn't made it back out for any visits since then. It felt good to be walking these streets again, ocean blue eyes gazing around, taking in the old and cleaned up shops alike, glancing in windows.. wait.
Tall, red hair- Mia. A warm smile playing on her lips, Savannah stole a sideways look at her son, Curt's mini-me in almost every way, before opening the door to join the two women standing in the doorway of Dervish and Banges. Who knew, maybe she'd get Lex a sneakoscopes while she was here or something.
"Mia!" Vannah greeted brightly from behind them, taking a moment to remember the blonde's name. She did know her from her school days, just not very well. "And Rhiannon, right? So funny to run into you both here,"

Considering it had been years since her last visit to Hogsmeade, one would still think she would remember the basic principles of shopping. Which would include, foremost, not to gawk in the doorway. But for some reason, she couldn't help herself. It's just that everything in Dervish and Banges brought back this flood of memories from her final year at Hogwarts Belle's. And it was all she could to do to keep her emotions in check. So many 'what ifs' about that day.
So many ....
.... but her thoughts didn't finish as she felt someone run into her back. To which she spun around and was about to apologize for standing in the doorway, when her gaze fell upon the familiar features of one best friend. Best friend who she sadly hadn't seen in ages, it seemed.
Smiling warmly at the blond, she nodded, "Rhian!" But didn't get to add anything else before ....

A brunette entered the shop, also greeting her. It was like a Hogwarts Reunion! "Vans?!?" Her gaze flickered from Savannah, with the toddler in her arms, to Rhiannon and back again. "What are you both doing here?" She beamed, closing the gap between each, one at a time and giving them a hug. It felt so ... surreal, them, all being here, in Scotland, again.

This was just odd. It was almost like she honestly should have chosen to come to Hogsmeade today, and was meant to decide to start her search here in Dervish and Banges. It was enough to make Rhiannon blink slightly as she took in everything that had just happened in a space of seconds, even as she had to consider if she actually believed in fate. She'd gone from just thinking about her cousin and Dylan and getting a gift for the little girl, to running into he rbest friend from ages ago and she honestly couldn't explain why it had taken her so long to see Mia again. It couldn't just be explained by what had happened to her years ago now, because she could have actually tried to go to one of the redhead's Quidditch games or something. She just, well, hadn't, and then hadn't even tried to look her up after she'd moved her art studio out of her home in Wales and to an actual real studio space in London, which made her feel bad. She could've been a better best friend, although she blinked again at the old nickname.
It had been so long since she'd heard that, that she'd almost forgotten about it, but she'd managed a smile and opened her mouth to speak when she'd heard another voice sound from right behind her. Turning slightly to let the new arrival step further inside as well even as she wondered if the shopkeeper was going to eventually reprimand them for blocking the entrance, she closed her mouth again as names kept getting mentioned, both from the brunette and then Mia as well. She'd nodded in response to the question about her own name however. "Yes," she finally said, giving the brunette a smile too. "Savannah, right? You were a Hufflepuff like Mia." Mia had said Vans, at least, so she was fairly sure she was remembering things correctly, and she'd turned her blue-green eyes back to the redhead at her question. "I just felt like getting away from Wales for a bit. Maybe getting something for my neice," she explained. "Well, Elizabeth's daughter. My cousin? She misses her daddy sometimes lately, when he's away with his team, so I thought maybe a present would help." And she figured another drawing or painting wouldn't do the trick. besides, if she hadn't come then she wouldn't have experienced this reunion.

Savannah couldn't help from laugh lightly at Amelia's reaction, it was a happy occasion that she ran into an old friend and aquantance from her Hogwarts days. Though, she should almost have expected it upon deciding to pay Hogsmeade village a visit, she hadn't. All of the Hogwarts children she had known had graduated by this point, and it hadn't crossed the woman's mind that there may be old friends from her own school years visiting too. "The one and only, I hope," The last part added as an after thought, Vannah returned the hug as much as she could with one arm. The other held her son on her hip, where he leaned into her and tried to avoid the hugging. "Nothing in particular, I had a couple of errands to run and people to meet, and then decided to make a side trip to introduce Noah to the place his mummy and daddy use to enjoy going to." Not that they had taken Hayley to Hogsmeade yet, but Noah was small and wasn't likely to tell. Soon enough, Hayley would have her turn. "What about you, Mia, what are you doing out and about in Hogsmeade?"
The little grey-eyed boy cuddled into his mother's side, fidgeting enough to make her shift him slightly until he settled again, staring at curious at Mia and then Rhiannon when she spoke. Savannah nodded, brushing a dark strand of hair from her face. "Yes and yes, I was two years under Mia." And as Vannah remembered, Rhiannon was a very good friend of Mia's during their Hogwarts days. She was fairly certain that was how they had met, otherwise it had been through Curt. Vannah couldn't help but nod, a sympathetic look crossing her features upon hearing that what she assumed was a young child was missing her father. "Quidditch team?" She asked, curiously.
