The winter weather left the arena chillier than usual, but by now you should know you'll warm up soon enough. Having been busy setting up certain things, Professor Romanos didn't quite have time to think of the effects of cold weather. With the morning sun shining brightly through the large windows, she had set up a table near the stands where a good number of cups were placed neatly on top, covering every inch of it. What those cups held would be explained shortly, but there was indeed some type of liquid in it. If you snuck a peak, water would definitely be crossed off your list of ideas.
The professor herself was sitting on the lowest part of one of the stands next to two medium sized boxes, both closed, ready to greet the students who came in. More than likely, they'd be explained shortly along with the cups. If the sight of these new objects make you feel uncomfortable in any way, than perhaps the absence of the purple mats would put your mind at ease.
Do come in and take a seat, whether that be on the cold stone floor or in the stands, or stay standing if you so wish. The lesson will begin soon as usual.
OOC: Class has started. If you're just joining us, post your character as if they've been here the entire time, ______or they may just face a little consequence.
Belle was glad she was not going to miss today's lesson. She was glad she was here learning something new. Belle looked up at the ceiling and gave it a quizzical look. How did the cushions get stuck up there? Probably Peeves did it or maybe the professor put a sticking charm on them. Who knows?
Belle heard the students answers and she did not want the hovering charm used on her. She did not feel that comfortable with that idea. Plus Belle did not really do WELL with heights.
Then she heard a student ask an idea. She agreed with him. Belle piped in and said, "Yeah can we summon them back down here safely without flying up there?" Belle was all for that idea. "I am sure there is a spell used to get them back down."

"No, that's...not exactly what I meant either, Miss Cambridge." she said with a small smile. Listening to each and every idea, nodding here and there, her gaze settled on the fourth year Gryffindor and Hufflepuff Prefect. "Where's your sense of adventure? It would be just too simple and boring to let them fall down on their own. Though yes, normally, I would advise going the safest root possible when it comes to, potentially dangerous, situations..."
"Which, I must say, those are some good ideas given. I think Mister Gunter and Miss Branxton were closer to what I had in mind for today. We will be sticking ourselves up there, quite literally, and although it won't be because of a potion, there will be something you need to drink in order to keep the blood in your body from rushing to your head." Moving over to the two boxes, she scooted them out in front where all could see and opened them up. Hopefully none in front were scared of the eight legged creatures, for her mechanical spider scuttled out of one box suddenly and stood by Medea's feet. What was in the boxes though were what looked to be shoes and gloves. "And I thought, since we're up there, we might just have our lesson up there as well."
She paused and looked back to the class. "Again, it is quite safe, I promise you that. These shoes and gloves are sticky enough to keep you stuck to the walls. Trust me, I've tried them." Medea raised her hand up a little. Guilty! "But of course, I will be taking other precautions once we start getting up there. If you'd rather stay on the ground, that is perfectly fine. Being up there will give a different perspective that I wanted to aim for though, and surely something you wouldn't want to miss out on, but, that is entirely up to you. So, take a moment to think about that. If you would like to join me, take a pair of gloves and shoes and put them on. They'll shrink or grow to the correct size on their own so there are no worries about looking for a perfect fit."
"Also, mandatory for those going up, besides the gloves and shoes. Please drink one of the cups from the table over here, or you'll be coming back down to the ground every few minutes so your head won't look like a tomato." Professor Lafay was kind enough to help in the creation of the potions. The woman's ingredients were used in it after all. "Questions should be asked now, rather than later."
OOC: If your character feels like going up, take a pair of gloves/shoes and put them on as well as drink one of the potions in the cups from the table, though do try to have them resist going all Spiderman in the class until Medea says it's okay. There is no problem with having your character stay on the ground as well. It's up to them after all!

If there was ever a time to be glad to be wrong it was now. Lex breathed a sigh of relief when the Professor clarified that they wouldn't be casting spells at each other. She took a moment to eye those in the class that has been giving spell suggestions. Clearly they wanted her having some kind of traumatic break down in the middle of class. Casting spells at her? No way. She'd had enough of people raising their wands at her.
Now that she was satisfied with how the class would go she could pay attention. THEY WERE STICKING THEMSELVES UP THERE?! Coooool!! She couldn't wait to give it a try. The excitement was enough to nearly make her miss every word the Professor was saying. She had to fight hard to keep her concentration. Wouldn't want to miss out on something then end up in the Hospital Wing. Nope.
Her eyes went wide in wonder when a mechanical?spider looking thing sprung from the box and rested by the Professor. She would have tried smooshing it but at the moment she was busily eyeing the gloves and shoes that the woman was now talking about. Things started getting better when she learnt they'd be staying up there for the entire class. Eeep! It was gonna be so much fun!
"Don't worry Professor, even if it wasn't proven to be safe I'd still try it out!" GRIN. Yeah...it didn't take much to convince the young Gryffindor. She reached into the box and took a pair of gloves and shoes then began fitting them on as the professor spoke about the sugar-less juice. Unfortunately, despite the fact that it would not be giving her a sugar rush she'd still have to drink it...SIGH. She raised her hand. "Does it at least taste like it could give someone a sugar rush?" Not that she needed one; she wasn't a sugar addict--she didn't have a problem.

We'll continue sometime around 7pm EST tomorrow.
They were going to go up! Kat was so excited. She got a pair gloves and those... what kind of shoes are these? They looked like human toes! Since when did the fashion industry make these stuff? But Kat had no right to argue since she just wanted to go up there.
After wearing those out-of-fashion gloves and shoes, Kat took a cup of that thing Professor asked them to drink if they wanted to go up. Kat sniffed first. Ew. What was this potion? But Kat can't argue because she knew very well that Lafay helped in this potion. Who else could create a bloody disgusting potion but make it look like it was nothing? Then, Kat drank it.
...
Oh Merlin, she might get sick.

So, Professor Romanos was asking them to put on a pair of gloves and pair of shoes that would magically fit their hands and feet, drink a potion that would magically prevent all the blood from rushing to their heads, and they would instantly and safely (and magically) be able to crawl around on the walls and ceiling?
Seemed legit.
Nimoe got up and made her way to the boxes of shoes and gloves, giving them an inquisitive look. They didn't look like anything special to her, and more to test what Romanos said than anything else she chose the largest pair of gloves and tugged them onto her hands. When they fit, she grinned and promptly grabbed two shoes from the other box. Considering that she was about to be hanging out on the ceiling, literally, she felt as though she couldn't get the laces tied fast enough.
That done, it was high time to take a drink of the mystery potion on the table. That the drink received a cursory sniff or two was nothing out of the ordinary; she did that with everything. A few quick swallows (aided by a plugging of the nose, just in case) and she was ready to go.
Up there!? Cool! if they get up there could they stay up there? Ariana thought that would be soo Awesome. she looked up at the professor then the ceiling again. Humm "could we fly up there with brooms or something then use the sticking charm perhaps?" cause they couldn't use just one or the other. they'd have to use both really. to get up there then STICK there. humm Could Ariana try first!?
----------------- and they were going UP! YUSH! Ariana was so excited! she grabbed a pair of gloves and shoes and slipped them on. them shrinking to fit her tiny hands and feet. she giggled a bit before going over to the cup and.. Wait Did Lafay make it................................... ugh.. Ariana hesitated for a moment.. before just shrugging and downing a cup... ehh not too bad.. tasted like a normal potion.. Can We Go Up NOWW??

Sophie glanced sideways when Oakey came to stand close to her, but she suddenly got very distracted by the mats stuck to the ceiling and didn't realize he was avoiding making eye contact with her.
After everyone gave their own ideas of how they could get up there and professor Romanos said they'd actually 'stick themselves up there' as well, like Oakey and that older Ravenclaw said. Cool! And those potions were to keep the blood from rushing to their heads. How interesting!
Going to the table were the cups were, Sophie took a good look at them. Then she looked at the boxes where the shoes and gloves were.
She walked over to where professor Romanos was. "Professor, do we have to use the gloves and shoes?" She asked looking up at the woman. "I mean, I once climbed the Hogwarts front gate using the Gripping Charm on my hands back in my first year!" And it worked! Grin!
Couldn't they use spells this time too?? CHARMS! They were SO cool! Could they?? Coould theeeyyyy???? Pleeeaseee??? Charms charms charms!!

So it has come to this. Medea promised herself she wouldn't fall prey to stereotyping the houses, but...Oh, Gryffindors. She was happy to see the girl's enthusiasm though. Moving over to the cups, she picked one up. "Not exactly..." she smiled a little before taking the gulp of potion. She had to resist that small grimace. "Best to just get it over with."

Looking towards Sophie, Medea raised an eyebrow. Climbing the front gate? "What do you think has been used on these gloves and shoes?" she asked, chuckling lightly. Well, partly used. There were other charms in place as well. "If this were a different situation, Miss Campbell, I wouldn't mind the use of charms on yourselves if your confident but, since we will be practicing spells, I'd rather you be focusing on the ones you're learning...rather than how long your charms keeping you up will last."
And quite frankly, she didn't want to have to worry about that either.

Nerida was tempted to giggle as she saw the familiar eight legged creature come out from one of the boxes. She looked over at the Professor it was safe, she knew it was safe. She tried them, okay that made her feel ten times better. Who would rather stay on the ground? Weirdos that was for sure...Not even a second after the Professor told them to think about it she picked up a pair of gloves and shoes. She put on the shoes first, she watched as they shrunk significantly. Then she pulled on her gloves, they shrunk a little bit nothing like her shoes though. They had to drink something...She did not want to look like a tomato! She quickly went over to the table and with her gloved hand picked up one of the cups. She was hesitant at first but she still drank it in the end.

Why did grown ups always do that? If the answer was 'no' then why'd they try to go around the bush about it. The Professor was a little hesitant in her answer and she didn't look like sunshine and daisies after she took a gulp. Put that together with the reaction of that Slytherin girl and you had a now very sceptical 11 year old.
Lex stared at the Professor for a bit more before reluctantly walking over to the table and picking up a cup. She took a deep breath then downed everything in one go, gagging just a little as she did.
"Yuck! To think I wanted to drink this." She said, shooting an incredulous look at the surprizingly empty cup. It was good that it all went down the first time because there was no way she would have been willing to take a second gulp.

Jory was definitely not going to stay on the ground. This was all so exciting and it was almost like Spiderman! He eagerly put the pair of shoes and gloves indicated by the Professor. He watched, impressed as both pair adjusted to his feet and hands which were a bit bigger than the boots and gloves original sizes.
The Puff then took one of the cups from the table. He gulped it down after some hesitation. Now, he was ready!
This was insane. Elliot Morganzo...was not going..on the ceiling..there was no WAY in Merlin's PANTS this was happening. She eyed the professor..like she was insane. No, she WAS insane. Elliot had always somewhat thought this...you know, with the yoga poses and excercises...that was odd. But class on the ceiling?!?
That was a new level of insanity.
The Ravenclaw eyed the equipment, and for JUST a moment..she considered going on the ceiling..but then she looked up and immediately chickened out again...NO NO NO! She saw Hannah and Cora and wondered if they would...and Ariana..and HEY! Max! She shot him a smirk and...would HE go on the ceiling?!
NO!
She wasn't!

Hmm... Sophie had indeed considered that the Gripping Charm had been used on those, actually. But it would be a loot more fun if they used the charm on themselves instead of using objects already charmed, riight?? Griiin!
She listened to what professor Romanos had to say, nodding. Oh well, they wouldn't use the spells on them because- OOHHH!!! They were learning NEW spells in class today!! YAY!!! Sophie's eyes sparkled as she nodded more fervently this time. "Okay, professor!" NEW SPELLS! HOORAY!!
The young badger hurried back to the boxes and grabbed a pair of gloves and a pair of shoes, putting them on as fast as she could. Wait! Before she put the gloves on - that she knew for sure now that had the Gripping Charm aand some other stuff cast on them - Sophie got a cup with the weird potion and drank it, not really paying attention to its taste. She was going to learn NEW SPELLS on the CEILING!

Jen scrambled over to the gloves and shoes and put some on. It was super cool how they made themselves the right size for her when she put them on. She was gonna be like a superhero now. What was that movie with the spiders and the man and his sticky hands? Spider-Man! Yeah, she was gonna be Spider-Girl!
Now the potion thingy. Didn't look too bad. Jennifer took a large gulp. It was disgusting! She spluttered loudly. How could they make poor, innocent children like her drink it? So what if they didn't HAVE to drink it! They didn't tell her how horrible it would be. It was practically child cruelty, even though she was twelve and didn't like to think of herself as a child.

The mats were up the ceiling? Beezus looked up, and yep...the purple little monsters were indeed there, stuck as if glued. Gaze lingering on the mats for a while, the Ravenclaw brought back her attention to the Professor when she announced that they will be sticking themselves up there too...literally.
O___o
No, really?! WHOA. Talk about epic Professor Romanos.
The woman was telling them what they needed to do for that task while she opened the box. As she did, Beezus eyes immediately went to the mechanical spider that scurried beside her. *INNER FLAIL* Spider! Spider! EEEEEP! "Professor!" Yes, ignore the gloves and shoes for now. "Professor! You've got a spider!?" the brunette asked enthusiastically, eyes wide. "Does it have a name?" Could she name it? She'd call it Charilda, or...or Marlotte! See what she did there? A combination of Spike's and Dylan's tarantula's names!
FLAIL.
Oh, right. The shoes and the gloves and drink that was not water
Eyes still trained on the robotic creature, Beezus walked off towards the box, grabbed a pair of shoes and gloves, placed them on (they magically shrunk to fit her hands and feet), scuttled off to the table and taking off her sight from the spider for just a second, drank the liquid on the cup. BLEHHHHHHH. What in Merlin's name was that?
Anyway, brown eyes back on mecha spidey.
Could she bring it with her when they go uuuuuuuuup?

Kurumi jumped back a bit in her sitting position on the floor when Professor Romanos' spider appeared OUT OF NO WHERE. Too bad that swatting at it with a rolled up Daily Prophet wouldn't do anything to it. Or would it?
Wrinkling her nose, Kurumi almost missed the entire part where the activity of today was explained. Sticking themselves to the ceiling? That sounded sort of intense! At least there wouldn't be any brooms used in here - although Kurumi was a little disappointed that there would be no transfiguring body parts into those of animals. It was a spell that the Gryffindor was rather gifted with.
Kurumi stood up - go the loooooooooooong way around the professor in a sort of banana shaped arch to avoid the spider - and grabbed her shoes and gloves, slipped them on, and then grabbed a cup of the solution that Professor Lafay had made for them...but didn't drink it just yet. "A...tomato, professor?"

An upside-down lesson?!?!?!, Kendall thought, glancing upward as they had been told the yoga mats were up on the ceiling, pink streaks in her hair brightening a fraction as she got more excited. She wasn't sure she wanted to be doing yoga upside down, but they couldn't really do yoga and learn new spells. Not as far as she could figure out, and Professor Romanos had definitely said they were going to be learning spells. So maybe the mats were just to help them claim their spot on the ceiling, because there was no way she was staying on the ground. She'd risk a head rush or two, even, although there was that potion. She still didn't quite trust potions, after the last couple lessons with Professor Lafay, but she was going to get to hang upside down like a spider monkey. Or a butterfly before it was born. Oooh, I could pretend I'm in a chrysalis, she thought. As long as they weren't doing boat positions on the ceiling or any other weird yoga positions. And she couldn't cast spells as a pretend baby butterfly either.
Either way, she was going up there, all superhero-ninja butterfly-like. Minus the costume, although she did have her ninja butterfly necklace on. And she headed over behind Beezus to collect gloves and shoes, although she kept one glove off until after she'd drank the icky potion. She would've kept both off, but for all sheknew the potion was going to make them levitate or something and she wanted to be able to at least use one hand to grip things. Even if her feet were all covered in the sticky!shoes. They weren't quite as awesome as her combat boots, but the professor had already advised them not to try casting all the Gripping Charms and such themselves yet. Therefore, her boots would have to stay on the floor. Hopefully staying safe while she got to be awesome upside-down-ninja-Kendall, and she slipped the second glove on as she bounced the tiniest bit. It was difficult in the sticky shoes, but she'd just bounce in place until they found out what was next. Probably going all spider monkey on everything.

He has been thinking that he may have misunderstood the Professor's question-- did she just say how they were supposed to get up there? Like up on the ceiling? Those piercing blues trailed from student to student, some were giving suggestions on how to bring those mats down instead, which Vickers thought was a better idea than going all Spiderman or something....
.... but apparently that was the Prorfessor's idea. As students rushed forward for the equipment, or stayed put on the ground, Vickers' gaze strayed back to the ceiling. If they would fly there, he'd be one of those up and antsy to get started. But apparently they would be crawling, and hanging upside down. Will that even be close to the sensation of flying? Those drinks were supposed to combat lightheadedness, which was part of flying. He glanced at Vivi momentarily, and for some strange reason his thoughts went back to her gift, given to him in this exact same room. No he still didnt know what it really was, although had he known he'd be rushing back to the common room and breaking it open before anyone can say Shazzam.
So he stood and reached out for the gloves and shoes, then sniffed the drink and since it didnt smell funny, quaffed it down, trying to avoid having his tongue taste it. He sat himself close to the wall before slipping on the gloves and shoes. Ready to go wall-crawling here.

They were going to climb towards the ceiling with the use of magical sticking gloves and shoes? Well that sounded....totally epiiiic! How many times can you say you climbed a wall like that?!
The Slytherin wasn't freaked out by the mechanical spider coming out of the box because it wasn't scary. Fire, now that's scary! He listened to the instructions that the professor gave them and immediately stood up from the ground.
He was not going to stay on the ground! He wanted to get up there and grab a purple mat. Daichi grabbed a pair of gloves and shoes and put them on. They fitted perfectly, probably due to a spell and then walked to grab a cup.
Should he drink it now or wait for the professor to say so? He looked around and noticed that a few students were already drinking the potion with a rather disgusting look on their faces. And some were eyeing the liquid as if it was dangerous.
"Professor? How long does this potion last?" they probably did not need a lot of time to get up there but he was just curious.

WAS THIS A DREAM OR REAL LIFE?
After keeping quiet for the first part of the lesson, his ears finally pricked up when the professor mentioned the next part. EVERYONE knew how much Theo loved Spiderman, and now... they were actually gonna go climbing the walls of the room just like HIM? Theo's eyes went wide with adoration for Professor Romanos. He loved her. He loved her almost as much as Professor Bellaire. What was WITH him and crushing on teachers?
"This is COOL, professor!" He beamed at the lady, then rushed forwards to retrieve some shoes and gloves. Once they were on and ready to go, he picked up one of the cups and drank it without even taking a second glance. BLEHCCHH, it was disgusting! But Theo knew it would be worth it.
He was going to be a REAL Spiderman. Move over, Peter Parker!

When Professor Romanos mentioned that there were no mats and motioned above. Cassia kept staring above her at the stuck mats. She might have kept staring for quite long time because the next thing she knew that students were talking about being stuck too and Romanos was showing them how to and promising that it was totally safe. Absent-mindedly Cassia rose to her feet and went to get a look at the equipments. Weird looking gloves and shoes were there. And what was THAT! Spiders. Though not real ones. Cassia tried to ignore them and listened to what was Romanos saying.
It was ok not to climb the walls? No actually it wasn't because then so much fun would be missed. But did Cassia really wanted to try it despite her knowing how clumsy and insecure she gets. Especially upside down. But come to think of it she never tried that so she might get more confident up there and if it was proven true she might too ask Romanos to let her keep those. Maybe she could continue her life climbing walls, ceilings and roofs. Her grandmother might have a heart attack knowing this but the woman was old and was likely to die any minute. Truth be told. So Cassia wasn't going to worry about upsetting her.
So nodding at her own self, she went towards the cups and gulped one. Of course afterwards she gagged and wrinkled her entire face because it was not delicious. After recovering the slytherin reached for a pair of gloves and shoes and leaned on the closest wall to put them on. Once settled she straightened and eyed that mats above. Coming right now. Then another thing came across her mind. If they walked upside down they wouldn't be affected by gravity. And she had once heard that that would help getting taller just like sleeping. She shot her hand into the air excitedly and spoke." Professor!" Too enthusiastically? Well that was to draw the woman's attention. "When we're up there. We won't be under the gravity's force right?" Not waiting to hear the answer she went on."Could I get taller while I'm up there!?" She asked hopefully her eyes glimmering with excitement. It would so awesome to leave the classroom taller than when she got in. And people would stop not noticing her or tripping over her.

Oh this was going to be interesting. They were climbing up to the ceiling! This could be even more fun than yoga, if they didn't kill themselves. Alex made her way over to the boxes and grabbed a pair of gloves and shoes. Putting them on, she tried to imagine what it would be like to literally climb the walls. Now, it was time to drink the potion. This part was not so appealing to Alex. What if it was nasty? She took a cup and held her breath. Better to drink it down in one fast gulp, Alex thought. Taking her big gulp, he managed to get the potion down. Now to wait for further instructions.....l
...Though as she stood up, the last few students made their way inside. She smiled and nodded to each before her gaze settled on the young Gryffindor asking about the drinks. Now there would have been an idea she would have to save for later when those had Charms with Sophia after her class.
Nothing like giving the charms professor a bunch of students hyped up on sugar.
"Not exactly, Miss Cambridge." Medea chuckled softly, accent gone, as she stood in front of the stands where students from either section, and those standing or sitting on the cold floor, could see her. "Alright, I think now is about a good of time as any to start. If you haven't noticed yet, which I'm sure all of you have, we don't have the purple mats today. This is because..."
There was a moments pause where she stared at the students, and then looked up to the ceiling where every mat was accounted for, quite stuck. "They're a bit out of our reach. I'm sure our lovely polgergeist had something to do with this, but, instead of taking them down...I thought of something better we can do." Looking back down to the class, Medea grinned.
"If you're afraid of heights, you may stay on the ground, though I assure you, every precaution has been taken into mind for this. So, does anyone have any ideas on how we..." She gestured to them all before pointing to the ceiling. "...are able to get up there?"
Sarah looked up.. indeed the mats were up there! Sarah loved adventure and she would really like to go up there. That reminded her of the movie Mary Poppins when one laughed so hard they floated up wards. Sarah thought that maybe they should case wingardium leviosa on each other

We will be sticking ourselves up there, quite literally, and although it won't be because of a potion, there will be something you need to drink in order to keep the blood in your body from rushing to your head." OOC: If your character feels like going up, take a pair of gloves/shoes and put them on as well as drink one of the potions in the cups from the table, though do try to have them resist going all Spiderman in the class until Medea says it's okay. There is no problem with having your character stay on the ground as well. It's up to them after all!
We'll continue sometime around 7pm EST tomorrow.
Sarah was eager for the thrill. And she liked the idea of wearing those awesome looking shoes. She went to the box and selected a pair of shoes. They looked very wide for her narrow feet, yet as the professor said, when Sarah put them on, they went to the right size. She then selected a pair of gloves, putting one of her left hand and she held the other in her right hand. Then she went over to the cups and selected the one in the middle. Before she drank it however she put on the right glove and encricled the cup with her hand. Then she brought it to her mouth.

Just when she was starting to get excited about the purple mats not being there the professor pointed out that they were in fact there...only above us. Merlin! She figured that they would just leave them there and do something else for this lesson, but of course that was not the case. How would she get them down? Throw something at them until they fell down! No? "I would have to side with the people that said they would fly on a broom to get them." That would be the next easiest step right?
They were going to do what? Ok it was official the DADA professor has lost her mind. She was always on the verge of losing it with the whole yoga thing, but she was sure that this lesson said it all. And what the heck was that robot spider thing about? That was creepy. They were going to up there for a lesson? Hannah was confused on how this would be a good thing. Her first thought was that there was no way that she was going on that ceiling whether or not the professor liked it. She shot Elliot a raised eyebrow. She had a feeling that she had no intentions of going up there.
Hannah thought about it for a minute and finally decided that she would try it. What did she have to lose? Besides her diginity, but she wasn't going to think about it. Maybe she could see a puffer fall down first hand. It was bound to happen right? She walked over to the boxes and got her a pair or gloves and shoes. She grabbed the drink and eyed it for a while. Did she really want to do this? No...but she was going to anyways. Prove that she wasn't scared and that she was capable of doing it. She threw back the drink. Ugh! It wasn't that great but she had done it. There wasn't any turning back now.
Laura listened to the Professor and looked up at the mats, Oh this wasn't cool and worst off she couldn't tell the Professor about her being scared of anything because Hannah and Elliot would have fun about the fact she was scared of height, yeah she was on the Quidditch Team but still she had been told by a friend to think she was somewhere else but she didn't want to do that now.
