As you make your way down to the pasture for the first Care of Magical Creatures lesson of the term, and if this is not your first time visiting the place, you'll notice that the grassy area looks.. well, different. No creatures, besides the ones that Professor Newlin has hidden in the many cages scattered about can be seen.. or not seen, and how could you possibly miss the long covered table off to the side near the shed? What is in the cages and under the cover will stay a mystery.. for now.
Have yourself a seat on the grass, or stand if you'd rather! Not too close to those cages, though. Professor Newlin is there, laying on her stomach in the middle of the area, an open jar next to her and her finger stuck deep in the dirt.
There are worms in the dirt, after all.
OOC:This lesson will start later, later, laaaaater today. And I'm so nervous! The lesson has started! Please don't announce late arrivals. And I'm still nervous!
Argh! All this cleaning and dead skin. Not fun. Buuut at last, the worst of it was over. Renesmee examined her fire crab once more and then beamed at the fact that he looked fairly clean. Perfect. All she had to do now was rinse him and then hopefully she'd be done.
"Augumenti." As the water appeared, Nessie rinsed off her fire crab, making sure any left over of those gross dead skins were gone. She didn't want the poor little creature left with any of that on his shell, nor his body. "Finite." she ended off the spell and then with a pout on her face lifted the fire crab up for closer examination.
She looked at it's shell, checking for anything she needed to. She looked at the gems. Their colour was fine. Then closer at the shell. Everything was fine their too, it was hard, no cracks and no flaking either. Perfect.
All there was left to do now, was pack away and put the fire crab back in it's cage.

Terry pouted as the Professor started to pull the lesson to a close. But, he had enjoyed it so much, couldn't it go on for just a little while longer? Who needed Divination when you could sit here and clean out the crabs?
The twelve year old let out a big sigh and picked up the cage to carry over to the Professor. "Here you go." He gave her a friendly smile whilst placing it down on the bench, satisfied that he and Theo of course, had done everything they could to make the crab sparkling clean. He certainly seemed happy enough now that he wasn't all filthy.
"Thank you for a really great lesson" the Slytherin nodded. "If you need any help with any of the creatures, I will always be happy to volunteer." His mother would be so proud too. He had made a mental note to visit the barn too, he wanted to see what creatures were hidden behind those doors.

Fire crabs had stopped flying and everything seemed to have slowed down, and cradling the fire crab in her arms Elise realized that class must be ending. Tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear, Elise turned to face the Hufflepuff captain.
"You done?" she asked, stroking the Fire Crab's head gently. She hated to part with it, but who knew if they could play with them again for the next class? It would be amazing. But it might disturb Nessie a bit to have the fire-farting creature scampering around everywhere. Poor girl.
She shuffled slowly towards the cage and gently deposited the crustacean inside. Giving it a flying kiss, Elise dropped the dark cloth over it. Class was over. And it was lunch time. And Elise was hungry.
"Thanks for the lesson, professor," she grinned before looking back at Nessie. Was she coming for lunch?
Renesmee nodded at the younger Ravenclaw. "Almost." She just had to put her fire crab away. She watched as Elise blew the fire crab a kiss and cringed at the thought of doing that too. Noppe not happening, not with these odd creatures, Ness didn't like them enough.
Picking up her fire crab, she placed him gently into his cage. She then gave him a small wave, because he had after all been on very good behaviour. After covering his cage up, she got onto her two fit. Rinsed the supplies clean and then headed on her way out.
"Thank you, Professor.." Worm. She hadn't remember the real name. She made a mental note to ask someone and then followed Elise up to the castle.
Louisa's hands were all over the creature, more skilled this time as she checked for any irregularities on its shell, down on its scaled skin and then inspected the jewels closely. All the while moving her gaze up to where Vickers and Elijah were with the professor that so heroically save -wait for it- the Fire Crab. Yep, they were facing the creature hugger version of Bentley. Louisa smiled and nodded back at Vicky when he mouthed his gratitude. It was nothing really; he had a dorky friend that needs saving very often, Vickers can do the saving and Louisa can help attending to Vickers' actual responsibilities. Hopefully that dorky friend won't end up sleeping in their living room twenty years later.
Aaaanyways, the Fire Crab was good to go. She patted it on the head once, for Vickers' sake, and shoved put it back into its cage. Now to rinse Vickers' bristle brush and washcloth. She filled his bucket with water and repeated the rinsing process she did to her equipment, once done she vanished the water and levitated both of their tools to the side where the other students put theirs. Louisa headed toward the two boys then, "Good to see you two functional." That's the nicest she can be. Her head turned toward Vickers then and she did smile genuinely, "We're done here, are you coming?" Ya know... back to the castle. Maybe they could go together and directly head toward the common room.
