Vanora's face was in her palm. And if there weren't worms all over the ground now, and a crazy Peeves floating around who she had to keep her eyes on, there were Fire Crabs in the cages after all. She didn't even want to think about what he would do if he noticed them, she would have plopped herself right down on the and pouted until everything calmed down. As it was, though, even through all the chaos, there were still questions being asked and she peeked an eye out through her fingers. She didn't want to see anything! SPOILER!!: Elliot & Sierra! "Muggles have a way of only seeing what they want to see. Especially when it comes to things they don't know about. We're not exactly sure what they think they're hunting, but I'm sure they don't think it's anything like this." She used her free hand to gesture towards one of the creatures and would have said more if.. ..she hadn't gone and started freaking out like the rest of the class. Really! They were only worms! They should be more scared of the Fire Crabs. Groaning to herself, she moved her hand from her face and was just about to go and get the worms from the girl's hair, but thankfully, Sierra beat her to it. And she even put the worms in a jar! "Thank you, Sierra." Quote:
"It's all right, you can just leave them. I'll just worry about the Gnomes if they come." Thanks a lot, Peeves. Quote:

Vanora simply gave the boy a look and decided not to say anything back to him. SPOILER!!: Ariana, Theo and Kurumi XD O_O Someone ATE a WORM!? Why in the name of Merlin would they do that? Hadn't they heard her say not to hurt any of them? That was worse than squashing them! Looking past Ariana, Vanora's eyes landed on Theodore who.. was crying. Well, that could have been because Kurumi had pushed him, but knowing that that was just an accident, she figured the crying had to do with the worm. She made her way over to the pair. "Worms are full of protein." So he could stop crying now, right? Protein was good! "And there will be no throwing up." The worm was probably already dead anyway. Best to just.. leave it. It would come out.. eventually. SPOILER!!: Nigel and Peeves. <_< Of course Peeves would just ignore what she had said about the Bloody Baron and pick out the one word she wished she hadn't. Flinching only a little bit as the Poltergeist started to yell from behind her, Vanora placed her hands on her hips, determined just to ignore him. Ignoring him always worked while she attended Hogwarts, and after Nigel woke up and uncovered himself from the dirt, it seemed the rest of the students started ignoring him as well. Good. It meant that he would leave, right? And she could continue with the lesson? She was not about to bring the Fire Crabs out with him still around. "All right." Hopefully. "Finish finding your partners if you're not working alone, and grabbing your supplies. And if you have any worms still on you, just, you know, brush them off." Now, could she just sit and pout? OOC: There's still about.. 13 hours before the lesson moves on! =D |
The Boyfriend. ^_^ Woo! Firecrabs. And Ms. Professor Lady face sure lightened up since the last time Anya saw her. She didn't get any weird looks this time. It really wasn't her fault that she didn't know extinct creatures were still alive. They should of either been extinct or not extinct. Not some weird "only exists in the magical world" status. Honestly, Professor Lady should have been impressed she knew what a dodo was. She watched with a bit of a half giggle as Peeves appeared out of nowhere shouting some nonsense about the firecrabs. Anya, personally, couldn't be more excited. They were part crab, part turtle, totally shiny, AND they were FIRE...y. What was NOT to love? Eh. And now there were worms everywhere. She flicked a stray worm off her arm as if it were a normal occurrence. She then went to go grab some supplies and find a firecrab to |

Unacceptable. Just, unacceptable. Cardigan would NOT take this lightly! Ariana just let someone else get her dirt, and was totally rude! And faced a Fire Crab BUTT towards her as she put it in her arms!! She did NOT wanna go back to the common room with burn wounds!!!! "We're supposed to have two crabs! Here you go!" She shoved another fire crab cage at her, not caring if she had too much. Heh, for all she cared, let her fall and die of embarrassment. That would be just fine with her! Then they were back to the kid who "she threw dirt at". Hahahahaha, LIES. Cardigan wouldn't throw worms and dirt at anyone but Ariana!! Tsk tsk tsk. As she was passing behind Ariana to face the kid, she casually dropped a worm, that she had picked up near the fire crab cages, down Ariana's robes, do no one would notice it was her. "I'm soo sorry," She said to the kid, really meaning it. She was sorry for a lot of things: one, for this kid falling prey to the evilness known as Ariana Logan, and much more. She glanced to her side, and gave the |
SPOILER!!: Dylan So much for a peaceful lesson. They haven't even started with the activity yet and Peeves had already ruined some of her classmate's day..and hair.. Right Elliot? Beezus shook her head a bit as she watched her fellow 'Claw with Sierra trying to knock some sense into the girl. That was when Dylan's hand took hers, she didn't object but her eyes shifted from their hands to him and vice versa as she was pulled to where the cages where, completely unaware of how the younger Hutchinson was glaring at her or the older one's misery. Quote:
Her mood was slowly lifting now, thanks to him. Yeah, thank you Dylan. Again. They finally arrived to where the cages were situated. Beezus, being keen on choosing her Fire Crab pulled her hand away from his and she drawled on the creatures right away. Fire Crabs were interesting indeed. Their shells with different colors very intriguing. She began choosing her fire crab, moving from one cage to the other in pursuit of one that would caught her attention. There it was. That one. That one with the small cut shaped like a diamond on its shell. "Dy, have you chosen yours?" |
catching up (quoted Destiny and Peeves ;)) Text Cut: quotes, aka Professor Newlin and Peeves Fire crabs really were kind of awesome. Even if they were also kind of weird looking, they were awesome. And Kendall had gone back to half-reaching out as if she had wanted to pet the crab that Professor Newlin was holding, now that it had been released from its cage. She couldn't tell if it was a boy or a girl fire crab, either, which only created more curiosity about the creature. Who she felt sympathy for as people were saying it was scary. "Fire crabs aren't scary," she said softly, glancing over as all the other covers were whisked off to reveal lots more fire crabs, and she'd gotten more excited. We're going to clean the fire crabs? But they're already all pretty and sparkly and everything, she thought. Completely ignoring how everyone around her was focused on partnering up as if the creatures really were scary. It's not like Professor Newlin has us giving acromantulas baths, she continued silently, head half-turned toward all the cages to try and decide which crab looked the best to her until Peeves had shown up and dumped the professor's worm jar all over the ground and everyone around. She batted a few off her to the ground that had flown from the professor as she'd spun around, keeping an eye on them as they'd wormed off to look for entry into the ground again and scooping them up carefully. Depositing them back into the jar as everyone kept flailing around all around her. They were only worms, and the crabs didn't seem scared of them. But then, all the stupid flailing was scaring the crabs, and she let out a huff as she just went over to grab a bucket, brush and washcloth, then went over to stand by one of the unclaimed cages. Peeves only would continue if he knew they were reacting, after all, so she was the only smart one. And she crouched down to look at the fire crab. "It's okay, little fire crab," she said softly, trying to at least calm hers down even though she wasn't sure it understood her. Especially since it seemed slightly littler than half the others. Therefore it had to be getting scared by all the crazy students. "Do you have a name, little fire crab?" Maybe she should ask Professor Newlin, but then she just decided it didn't matter. She was in charge of this little one for now. "I think I'll call you Midir, little crab," she concluded. "He's a fairy king, and supposed to be all pretty and stuff. Well, unless you're a girl, but for now I'll call you Midir. And I think you'll be allowed out of your cage soon." The crab likely wanted to know what its new name meant, after all, and she finally just sat down on the ground by her chosen cage as things finally seemed to be dying down when it came to the worm chaos. Finally, she thought, looking over at the professor again. Who looked really upset about the worms. "Professor?," she called out, louder than she'd spoken to Midir the little fire crab. "I can help you collect the worms again later if you like. So the gnomes can't get them." But first she wanted to get to make sure her little fire crab was all nice and clean. |
Why are all these people so scared about these worms? Maybe they haven't spent their childhood like Surya did playing with worms and gnomes. Ahh. Childhood days were so memorable. He began collecting the worms one by one in a jar to give them back to Professor Newlin. |
SPOILER!!: Kurumiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Flailed? Theo wasn't entirely sure as to what she meant by that. But that didn't matter much. He was too annoyed to care. "Yes, you should've been." Knocking over kids with your seventh year arms was kind of easy, you know. The second year quietly shuddered when Kurumi put her arm around him. Yes, he felt that he needed a hug. But not from a girl. From his mum. And certainly not the culprit for knocking him over! GRrrrrrr.... Theo would never let this gooooo...... "I won't? Do you think I'll get sick, though? I can't get sick because... because QUIDDITCH...." Last term, he'd gotten sick before their first match, too, and he had to miss it. It wasn't going to be a tradition, was it?! "I can't miss Quidditchhhhhhh." He whined, allowing more tears to fall from his eyes. "B-b-b-but I don't like throwing up." Well, he didn't mind it. But not when he knew a worm would come flying out. How gross. "I'll wait for it to come out of the other end." Theo put it bluntly. Quote:
"But worms are slimy and they walk about in dirt!" Theodore insisted. Even the thought of it was making him heave. NOoooooo, don't start heaving!! He sighed heavily, and just hoped for the best. Hoped, particularly, that the professor kept her worms in a hygienic place. >____< |
Daichiiiiii!!! What is this peeves person's problem? Does he always do these on a daily basis to students? Does he even think for one second that it's bloody funny? Or in any case, does he even think? He's stupid and Juliet just wants to use a freezing spell on him. Ugh. She's completely annoyed, she can't even think straight. As soon as Daichi took the worm off her head, Juliet opened her eyes and stared at the ground. She then took her hand that was grabbing one of his arms. "S-sorry" she whispered, trying to calm herself down. "I j-just..." she couldn't just take her wand out and point it at Peeves. Will she get in trouble for that? Loose points perhaps? Yes? Nevermind. Taking all the deep breaths she could get, she finally faced Daichi. "Where.... Where were we?" she asked. Bucket, what else do they need to get??? She remembered Daichi took all of the stuff anyway. "Let's start." yes. No more distractions. Back to work. |
Quote:
But then...his smirk vanished. All she had.....what? All she got was a chocolate frog. A chocolate frog? Really? Was that for real? The Slytherin boy just stared at her not knowing how to react at that. Did he really look like a kid who was asking for candy? That was...odd. Okaaaay. Maybe she was just kidding. Deciding that he laughed at her some. ''Really?'' then he indicated one of the fire crabs ''Why don't we cook this?'' |
Catch up! SPOILER!!: Destiny1 Sarah quickly wrote down notes. She was to work on her own on that activity, unless there was someone that she really wanted to work with SPOILER!!: ♦ Peeves ♦1 Sarah had gotten rather startled when peeves appeared. Yet when the worms landed on her she took it rather cooly.. exciting! Her brothers had made sure their sister was touch and now wimp,so she did not mind the worms one bit. So she deftly took them off and turned them to the jar SPOILER!!: Destiny2 SPOILER!!: ♦ Peeves ♦2 (we love ya) Sarah grinned at Peeves cheek. That reminded her of her dad at bedtime, when they were all marched upstairs. She soo would have said that to the professor. She was still as impudent as ever, yet she was less verbal about it. and kept her witty remarks to herself. Then the Peeves brought their attention to a boy lying on the floor. He was not dead.. if he were dead, his chest would not be moving and his face would be chalky blue. Apparently. Sarah was not unfortunate enough to see a dead person. SPOILER!!: Destiny3 Sarah was about to help with the worms when she was told not too. She nearly had a fit of laughter when she had heard that someone had swallowed a worm. She turned to see who it was, it was Mr Grouchy, the one she had watched a movie with last year in Muggle studies. Now she waited silently by the cage with the firecrab she was to be using in, her supplies by her feet. Meanwhile she observed the people around her. |
SPOILER!!: They & Professooooooooor Sick? From one worm? Kurumi was pretty sure that he would be fine... "My one older brother used to pour chocolate on ant hills and eat all the ants. He never got sick...so I am sure you will be just fine," Kurumi nodded, trying to give Theo an encouraging pat on the back. And then Professor Newlin came over and.... Oh, well...thank you for that information Theo. Now Kurumi would be left with some rather VIVID images of how said worm would be next seen. Protein...right... more thoughts Kurumi just did NOT want to think about right now. Quote:
Kurumi then carried the cage over to the rest of her supplies and set it down on the ground. She then sat down next to it and, well, began to get to know her fire crab. "Um....hello there..." she said, doing Vivi's finger wiggling greeting towards the creature. "My name is Kurumi..." |
Quote:
After getting her stuff, Lily trudged back over to her fire crab, avoiding all the other stuff happening in the class. "So..." she started saying to Penelope, "do you think the fire crabs will sleep while we clean them?" You know, so that they didn't get burnt to a crisp. |
Quote:
She blinked a few times. Now would not be the time to cry. If she did it would just be the nail in the coffin of her aspirations of growing up. She dug her nails into her palm till the urge to cry passed. She couldn't take back that stuck on stupid moment, but she didn't have to compound the issue. Though his laughing at her made her want to run back to the castle and fling herself off the top of the Gryffindor Tower. Knowing her luck her hair would cushion the fall. She was going to need some serious confectionary therapy after this lesson she could feel it. As if the fire crab heard what he said the thing turned around and fixed them both with a stare that said 'try it punk'. She backed up away from the cage. Harlow had to giggle. There was nothing else she could do to save face. "Um I think you might find this one will go down fighting." She looked up at the boy and stuck her hand out. Might as well know his name if they were going to die in a freak fire crab dinner accident. "I'm Harlow by the way." she offered. |
Text Cut: kayquilz Yeah, yeah. She saved somebody's life. Just call her Saint Sierra. The girl wasn't going to hug her now, was she? Because really, the whole 'I owe you' was more than enough. Sierra visibly perked up. She liked when people owed her. It meant she could find just the right opportunity to benefit from them, and you better bet she'd be finding a way for the Claw to pay her back. Look at that. She'd helped the girl in order to save the worms, but in the process, she'd gotten a very valuable 'I owe you', and what Slytherin didn't like that? Text Cut: Destiny "You're welcome, Professor," she simply said. Sierra just sort of stood around, looking at the chaos surrounding her. She'd been so busy plucking worms from someone's hair that she still didn't have a partner. Ehh...they could work alone, hmm? She'd just do that. |
As Peeves continued shoveling dirt on the dead boy (Nigel) music could be heard, because that's what happened at funerals, sad music and throwing dirt on the dead. HEY! Who did that girl (Louisa) think she was? Didn't she know you can't kick a ghost and get away with it? Turning on her he threw some dirt her way too. "Can't you see I'm trying to hold a funer..." HEY! Again. Who told the dead boy he could get up? Peeves wasn't finished burying him yet. He couldn't be a proper ghost until he had been fully buried Following behind the boy he was going to Seeing all those other kids doing that boring class stuff, Peeves decided this class was no longer fun for him so without a word he zoomed off towards the castle... where he was sure he could find |
SPOILER!!: Elliot Of course Elliot was not happy that Hannah didn't help her, but she did help her scream and that surely counted for something right? She thought so. "I'm always here for you." she said with a smirk because she knew that if the roles were reversed Elliot would have reacted the same way. Hannah was all for dueling and arguments, but if creepy crawly things were involved you could count her out! "Now I'll got get the rest of the supplies while you round up your fire crab." Hannah wasn't gunna hunt fire crabs too. |
no, Kurumi is the saint, silly Sierra... Quote:
"You know, since you don't have a partner." Smiiiirk. Heehee. Were they allowed to work three? Probably not. Oh WELL. Elliot didn't care. Quote:
And good, that dratted Peeves was LEAVING! Good riddance! Hmmmph! She glanced around...looking for the poor firecrab...in his cage...ahaaa! She spotted him a good distance away- I didn't know I could even throw that far!- and she hurried to go retrieve it...she came back, blowing a piece of her hair from her face. "All ready. And worm free. And I asked your prefect if she wanted to work with us." Yep. Smirk. "You know, since she actually helped..." Hmph. Maybe just a bit bitter. |
Quote:
Anyway, back to the girl, the creature would not dare that. ''It only has to try it.'' he said with a grin. That could be a good show, right? The crab would try to attack him and Rich could make it fly faaar away with a kick. But he doubted the professor would appreciate that. Too bad. It could be some good way to cheer the girl up as well. Looking up a bit, he was imagining how far the fire crab would fly if he kicked it when the girl spoke again taking all his attention back on her. His expression becoming a serious one now, he eyed the girl from head to toes again when she offered him his hand. Harlow. So that was her name. She was not a bad piece at all. She only needed to warm up a bit more and that was not impossible. ''Richard.'' he said taking her hand and shaking it a bit. Obviously, she was a Slytherin too. ''I never saw you in the common room.'' Or any chocolate frogs...that is. |
Catching uppp. Sortakinda Sophie was startled but didn't freak out when Peeves appeared and messed up everything. She didn't mind that worms were flying about. Worms were normaall creatures like any other. Her mum was always collecting them from their garden as well, and Sophie would even help her sometimes. So no freak out moment for Sophie. She didn't mind working alone either. Though if someone wanted to work with her it would be fiiine as well. So, instead of looking for a partner, Sophie calmly walked towards the cages while the chaos was still going on. Well, sort of. Peeves seemed to be leaving now. Which was good, because he was one craaazy Poltergeist! After getting a brush, bucket and a washcloth for herself, Sophie chose a random fire crab to work with and stood close to its cage, waiting for further instructionss! |
Quote:
And now Lily was back and...wondering if the fire crabs were going to sleep? Penelope shrugged. "I dunno. I don't remember the professor mentioning it..." It was a good question though. What if the fire crabs didn't like being cleaned and tried to shoot fire at them? Penelope couldn't conjure up a Shield Charm so she'd be toast...literally. |
Ethan... Minerva heard the professor tell her to place the worms back on the ground and she turned back to Ethan. "Well since she doesn't seem to want them, if she doesn't mind you having them for your garden, I don't see why you couldn't just keep them." she looked around, "Do you have anywhere to keep them safe until our lesson is over?" she didn't want them dying or being hurt while they were working with the fire crabs. "Well since we have the supplies I guess all we need now is to move to a cage with a Fire Crab in it." she smiled at Ethan to see if he was ready to move. |
Catching up... Any partners left? SPOILER!!: Professor After another moment or two of relaxing in the grass, the professor started her lesson. She pulled a smoking cage towards her and revealed a Fire Crab. Eliza was interested to see what creatures were in the other cages too since the Fire Crab wasn’t the most exciting, or petable, animal she’d ever heard of. When asked to say a fact about the crab, all she could think to say was, “Fire Crabs have really pretty shells, but you should keep your distance so they don’t burn you!” She knew most of the other students had said similar things, but that was all she really knew. She was ready to hear what others would say when she remembered, “Oh, and my name is Eliza Dawnsel. First year, Ravenclaw.” She smiled politely. SPOILER!!: Professor, next direction Oh. So every cage has a Fire Crab in it. Okay then… Eliza felt bad for the poor little Fire Crabs being poached and killed every year. She couldn’t understand how anyone could want to hurt creatures for fun or profit. It was just terrible. This is my chance to show the creature that not all people are bad, she thought to herself as she walked over to collect her supplies for the lesson. She put a washcloth and brush into her bucket and carried the load over to a crab cage. Since it seems we’ll be grooming them, I’m going to show mine extra delicate care. As she stood by the caged animal, she watched it pace back and forth. She wondered if it was very aware of what was going on. Is it more like a bug or like a…a dog or something? Something that has feelings? she wondered. She thought on how to word her question for a minute before raising her hand. “Do Fire Crabs um…” Everyone was going to think she was stupid. “Do they have feelings? Or are they more like, you know, small creatures that don’t really comprehend much?” She hoped someone else had been wondering the same thing so she wouldn’t feel so silly for asking. SPOILER!!: Peeves arrives While she was waiting at her cage she saw something whisk over from the bushes. Was that a…a…a GHOST?! She watched it fly around the pasture, hooting and hollering. What on Earth does he want with us? she wondered. Just then he turned and flew in her direction, throwing dirt and worms every which way. She caught an eye-full of dirt and felt a worm plop onto her ear. She bent over, brushing her eye frantically as she tried to get the dirt out. Dirt that was quickly becoming mud from the tears welling under her eyelid began a dirty little river down her face. Ow, ow ow ow! She writhed internally as she struggled to clean her eyes. The worm would have to wait. At least it wasn’t hurting her. SPOILER!!: Peeves leaves Her right eye was red and wet from trying to rub all of that dirt out. She plucked the worm off of her ear and sat it on the table where it wouldn’t be stepped on. Whomever that ghost was, he seemed to be bored of terrorizing this group of students. Eliza had been so focused on her dirt issue that she still hadn’t found a partner. Being able to sort of see now, she just stood still by her Fire Crab, thinking it was best not to walk around and risk further injury. She blinked a few times to try and de-fog her poor, abused eye. |

There had to be a manuel for the socially inept right? Her attention was pulled back to Richard as she wanted for him to shake her hand. Harlow stood steady as the boy eyed her up and down again. This would have been a perfect time for biology to have shown up and filled out the rest of her frame, but no such luck. She gave Richard the firmest handshake she could with her little hand. Though his hand felt like a baseball mitt to her. "Pleased to meet you Richard." she offered. She inched away from the fire crab cage a little. The thing was eyeing her and since it was bigger than her she figured it was better to not know if she was flame resistant just yet. She looked up at Richard, "Oh um well I don't spend too much time in the common room. The furniture is a little big for us pint sized Riddles." She smiled getting some of the old Riddle back. |
SPOILER!!: Minerva Ethan chuckled lightly and shook his head at the girl's comments about the ghost... then stopped as one of her words struck him. Always? "Oh... does he make a habit of disrupting classes?" he asked, looking for... Peeves, he thought he was called. He didn't see him anymore, hopefully he left. The fifteen year old didn't know how anybody could get anything done in class if this was a regular occurrence. "It's my first year at this school," he added, explaining why he didn't know about this Peeves character. Ethan glanced over at the professor, then back at Minerva as they discussed the fate of the worms. "Just my pocket," he shrugged as she asked where he might keep them. But his robe pocket was plenty roomy enough, he figured they'd be fine in there. But if she was that worried about it, they could always go back in the jar till after class. Noting that the Puff had all her supplies, he returned her smile and said, "Let's get ourselves a coupla fire crabs, then." The Ravenclaw boy walked over to the rows of cages and saw two unoccupied fire crabs next to each other. Figuring they were as good as any others, Ethan pointed them out to Minerva and said, "How about these two?" |
Quote:
She looked around and was happy to see Peeves had gone, "Oh he is a pest.. The other ghost are very nice and do pop in once in awhile, but Peeves is the one you have to watch out for. I have only ever really seen him in one other class, but it's corridors and the great hall that he likes to play his jokes. Always causing trouble." she smiled "Oh well welcome to Hogwarts Ethan, I hope you are liking it so far." she loved everything about this school and hoped others did as well. "I would get so lost my first year, but you will get use to everything even the ghost.. well maybe not peeves, I don't know if anyone really ever gets use to him." she grimaced and looked to really make sure he was gone. As she saw him start walking she followed, "No I really haven't had any experience with them, but I have read about them. So hopefully that will help." she was smart with books and did pretty well with animals, so hopefully that would come in handy today. "Oh a wizard zoo, I have never been to one of those. I was raised muggle. Mom didn't tell us she was a witch until I started showing signs of it." she laughed, "So I have been learning tons since coming here four years ago." Then she saw him stop in front of two cages, "Those look good to me." looked at the crab, "Wonder if they have names.. I think I'll call you sparks.." she laughed to herself. Then looked at Ethan and blushed again, why did she do dumb things in front of people, it was a wonder anyone was friends with her she thought. |
