As you make your way down to the pasture for the first Care of Magical Creatures lesson of the term, and if this is not your first time visiting the place, you'll notice that the grassy area looks.. well, different. No creatures, besides the ones that Professor Newlin has hidden in the many cages scattered about can be seen.. or not seen, and how could you possibly miss the long covered table off to the side near the shed? What is in the cages and under the cover will stay a mystery.. for now.

Have yourself a seat on the grass, or stand if you'd rather! Not too close to those cages, though. Professor Newlin is there, laying on her stomach in the middle of the area, an open jar next to her and her finger stuck deep in the dirt.

There are worms in the dirt, after all.

OOC: This lesson will start later, later, laaaaater today. And I'm so nervous! The lesson has started! Please don't announce late arrivals. And I'm still nervous!

Theo made his way to the Care of Magical Creatures lesson, and perched himself on the grass straight away. There wasn't many actual animals about, though.. Eh, he was sure something would come and swoop them all off their feet in the next few minutes. Theo mentally prepared himself for the worst. There WERE those cages, though. He eyed them curiously, then shuffled away a bit.

"Hi, professor." Oh, he was early... That wasn't cool.

Spike had dragged himself down from the Ravenclaw Tower, his eyes still bleary from sleep - or lack thereof. He'd usually be pretty excited for this lesson, especially given that he'd ridden a hippogryff in his OWL, but his heart just wasn't in it today.

His heart wasn't in anything, at the moment. Sigh.

He tried to muster up a small smile at the Professor laying in the dirt, something that usually would have him grinning and asking to join in. Not today though. He said a quiet "Hello Professor," and plopped himself down on the ground and traced patterns in the dirt with a finger.

Nothing to see here. Nothing at all.

It was weird not to expect professor Williamson to be goofing around with students and creatures when you head down the grounds to the CoMC class. Louisa felt weird, even nostalgic a bit, but she also was very curious and intrigued to see how the new professor held out this class. Maybe less goofily.

Once the seventh year reached the spot of the lessons, her eyes hanged on the covered cages - which she thought were tables - before looking over at the woman and smiling, "Hello professor." There were only few other students here, one of which was the prankster Theo. Louisa gave him a smirk and a wave of the hand as she walked on to her fellow Prefect. "Hey Spike." And plopped down next to him.

Somehow... she suddenly felt.. uneasy. As if the boy radiated passive energy. She looked over at him and frowned, concerned.

Following his fellow students to the first CoMC lesson of the year, Daichi felt curious. He knew that there was a new Professor teaching the subject and he wondered how she would be. Hopefully she didn't pick any ...scary subjects that would cause the Slytherin to cry or freeze in fear in each lesson. Cause despite that he really had liked Williamson, his lessons were traumatizing for this Snake.

Once he arrived, his eyes immediately took note of the large table that was covered. Were there animals under there? Deciding not to look, he first went to search the new Professor. Because, you know... politeness and all.

Looking around, he began to wonder where she was when he noticed that someone was laying on the ground. Raising an eyebrow as he stepped closer, Daichi stood in front of her. "Ehm...hi Professor!" he said with a rather bright smile that he usually showed but his eyes looked curiously at what she was doing. "Welcome to Hogwarts~!" He wanted to know what the Professor was doing but he figured that he would find that out soon enough. Stepping away a few steps , the Slytherin sat down on the ground and waited for the class to begin.

Kurumi would have been very apprehensive about Care of Magical Creatures this term had she not already gone and spoken with the new professor. Of course each person who stepped into the role was different and Professor Willimanson had by far been her favorite not likely to be topped, Professor Newlin had been very nice AND she had a coati for a pet. A COATI!

Which is why the Gryffindor was especially hurried in her steps as she made her way down to the grassy area were....noooooooooooooo! Kurumi hated it when things were covered up! SHE WANTED TO SEE CREATURES NOOOOOOOOOW! Internally pouting, she nearly stepped on approached the woman with a slight stumble. "OH! Good day, Professor Newlin," Kurumi chirped. "I hope Grise is doing well." And the woman of course, but, erm, creatures!

Kurumi then found a spot on the grass next too....."Hey Daichi," Kurumi smiled as she sat down beside the Slytherin. Her cheeks may have flushed juuuuuuuuuuust a little bit as she did. "How's my little brother doing?" She really liked that he had called her his big sister so opening in Transfiguration because, well, Daichi really was like a brother to her.

"Phew", Surya has finally made it to the first COMC class of the term. He was surprised to see all the cages covered, wondered what was beneath them. "Good Day Professor Newlin" he greeted her and has decided to look around than sit on the grass which he has never done before!

Dylan went over to where they were having their COMC class, he was looking forward to this class since he was hoping that they would be looking at some cool creatures like the dragon he had heard about. He would just love to see a dragon right there in his eyesight, he walked down and saw the setup that was there. Now it actually looked like they would be looking at some sort of creatures but he just couldnt see what no matter how low he bent down to see under the covers. But he couldn't see and that disappointed him since he wouldn't be able to know whether the creatures were cool or not!

He walked to where the professor was standing "Hello professor." he looked at the cages that were around the place "Professor what are in those cages? are there baby dragons or something really cool like that in them?" he asked as he looked at the cages and then up at the professor, he really wanted her to tell him that there was indeed a baby dragon something cool like that in those cages. So he waited there with everyone else to see what was in those cages

Spike stopped doodling in the dirt, brushing the former picture away, and looked over at his fellow Prefect. He swallowed slowly, and tried to turn his lips upwards into a smile. They didn't want to go. Spike was fooling no-one, given that his usual bounciness in this class had been replaced by his current slumped posture.

Maybe he should have gone to an acting class, instead. To try and convince himself that things really were okay, like he kept saying. His head felt like it wanted to explode, his heart felt empty, and he'd totally lost his appetite. Yup, feeling really okay, was Spike.

"Hi Louisa," he said, settling for a nod alongside the strained half smile. "I'm sorry about being late for my Prefect patrol last night..."

Elliot's first ever Magical Creatures class. In the past, she just never wanted to do it. But for some reason, she decided to take it this year...yep. Judgement of whether this was a good idea of not would be withheld....until the class was over, of course.

And Elliot was already second guessing herself when she saw the new Professor...on the ground...playing in the dirt.

Merlin.

She raised an eyebrow, "Hello, Professor...can I ask why...you're...in the dirt?" she was just curious...and hoping with all her might that they wouldn't be doing that. Enough dirt in Herbology.

Kat entered Care of Magical Creatures with a grin. She felt good, for an unknown reason. It rarely happens and it was awkward. The day was sunny and the weather was great for walks. CoMC was a perfect opportunity to get some time off.

"Good morning, Professor Newlin," Kat smiled and took a seat on the grass.

Cardigan was quite interested to see how this new professor would turn out. Last year's Care of Magical Creatures was a little....yeah. He gave them a lesson on Pygmy Puffs. I mean, WHAT. They're just like, little toy pets! So small.

She was rather excited when she arrived! If the new professor was digging around in the dirt, would they too? That's probably wrong, but what if some of the creatures ate worms? Then they would be getting some of their food. After all, that DID seem to be what the new professor was doing. "Hello, professor. Are you getting worms out of the dirt?" Cardigan asked, pretty sure it was correct. Why else would you be poking around in the dirt with a jar? She didn't have any other idea as to why.

Jory was looking forward to Care of Magical creatures, though he didn't know why. There were a few students already there and he spotted the new Professor on the ground with a jar beside her and her finger in the earth. He grinned. No doubt she was looking for worms, he remembered doing the same thing as a child.

"Good day, Professor,'' he greeted her as he flopped down on the grass. He was going to miss Professor Williamson after all the exciting classes he had last year but he was sure Professor Newlin would be just as good.

Care of Magical Creatures! BEAM. BEAM. BEAM. Ella was extremely excited for this lesson as this was her favorite subject at Hogwarts. She knew it was going to be a bit different now that Professor Handsome Face Williamson wasn't around...but she had already met the new Professor and found her quite interesting! The third year skipped her way to class, coming to a halt when she arrived. "Hi, Professor Newlin!" Grin. "I'm really excited about class today!" Oh! And another thing. "How's Grise?"

Spotting Sophie and Theodore nearby, the small blonde walked over to hang with them. "Hey Soph, Lurker." She greeted with a smile, plopping down in the grass and placing her bag next to her.

Harvey walked down to the place where they were having their COMC lesson, he saw that there was a new professor. This was obvious since their last COMC professor, professor William had left his job. So he wondered what this new professor would be like, would she be nice or strict or something. He then noticed the cages that were there and wondered what they would be looking at today, he could tell that they weren't baby Dragons like Roro. He kinda thought that this professor didnt look like the kind of professor to bring in baby dragons for them to have a look at. So he was now curious as to how this lesson would turn out now.

He smiled at the new professor "Hello Professor, how are you?" he said as he stood there as some sat or stood there. He looked round and the sight of a certain girl (TakemetotheBurrow)brought a smile to his face, he couldn't help it just looking at her made him smile. That was the effect she had on him as his girlfriend, he then turned back to the professor as he waited for the class to begin.

"Hello Proffesor" Sarah said as she walked into CoMC, she wondered how the new professor was going to be like. What would they do this term? She flopped herself on the grass. Then she saw something - a worm, so small and intricate. Nature was beautiful.

Hearing a voice from beside him, Daichi turned his head to find Kurumi sitting next to him. He smiled back and waved his hand. "Hey Kurumi" he said.

The Slytherin then shifted his legs until he sat indian style and blushed a little when Kurumi said *little brother* to him. " You heard that huh?" he mumbled as he stared at the ground. Obviously talking about the previous Transfiguration lesson. But to answer her question... "i'm good, i think... i hope there's no fire breathing Skrewt or dragon in this class" he let out a small chuckle but his eyes were looking around him, warily.

Until his eyes landed on a fellow Slytherin and his eye-smile came back again. "JULIET!" he shouted and waved his arm to get her attention. "HEY JULIET! come sit with us?!" he then turned back to Kurumi and his cheeks flushed again. ''uhm...if that's okay with you....."

Nigel was not sure if he would miss Professor Williamson. He only had him for one year. Since he was a first year last term. But this new teacher was looking a little crazy. With laying in the dirt and having her finger in more dirt and worms. He wanted to ask her about that.

"Hello, Professor Newlin. Why are you laying in the dirt? It looks uncomfortable."

He then went to find a nice spot to sit down that was not full of dirt.

Meh...Ness didn't even know why she was here. It wasn't that she hated animals, but the main reason why she attended this class last year was because of Professor Williamson. He was just so gorgeous and she used to take his lessons as fangirl sessions, but now that couldn't happen anymore. He was gone because of that silly dragon Rora or whatever it's name was.

With a pout on her face, Renesmee walked down the grounds towards where she saw the class asembling. She looked at a the completely covered crates and then spotted the new Professor. It was rude not to greet her and even though Ness didn't exactly want to, she wandered over to the new Professor.

"Morning, Professor." she wasn't sure of her name yet. It didn't bother her anyways something else caught her eyes. "EWWW! EWWW! EWWW!" She couldn't help herself.

Were those worms? Gross! Just gross!! >_<
