The Great Hall's missing tables seem to work out in your favor, for once, as you notice the GIANT Christmas Tree in the center of the Winter Wonderland. This is THE tree to top all trees, and it is up to you and the Prefects to decorate it appropriately. The other 12 Christmas Trees are already carefully arranged around the perimeter of the hall so that you can look to them for inspiration if you need to.
A myriad of decorations just for this tree are stored in a big tote box near the base of the tree. Roll up your sleeves and start decorating, helper! Just be sure to leave the star that goes on top for the Headmistress. She also loves decorating.

Carefully moving through the entrance hall, levitating the trees a few feet in the air, Seb made his way into the Great Hall and once inside, he carefully placed the trees around the room making sure that they were visible from every angle.
Yep, he loved this time of year.
The Groundskeeper would find it much easier to decorate this year, without the four house tables and one staff table blocking the way. To the decorating crew, it might not seem odd that the tables were missing; but to the students who had been forced to eat breakfast on the floor, the missing tables were an OUTRAGE.
Either way, carry on with your decorating! Enjoy the open floor space, for now.

Almost.
’You?’, the fifth year eventually asked Jory. ‘By the way...', she started saying, remembering that she wanted to tell him something- 'I’ve read one of the muggle books you suggested...’, the girl mused while picking another ornament from the box, then drawing her attention back to Jory, she added: ‘Loved it’ Indeed, the book written by Mary Higgins Clark was now one of her favourites.
Smirk.
"You've got the Christmas spirit,'' Jory said with a grin. He also was in a better mood than usual. The tree and the decorations made him feel like a child again. "I'm just great,'' replied the over happy boy. "Cool decorations, huh?'' he commented as he examined a mini Santa Claus from the box next to Gwen.
"So, uh...'' the Puffer begun cautiously as he absentmindedly hung Santa on the tree. "Have you seen Ari around?'' He wasn't sure if Gwen had gotten used to him and Ari being together as yet. He stood back and admired the tree. Even though it was still a work in progress, Jory thought it looked amazing.
"You did?'' he asked. “Which one? And more importantly, how was it? '' He was sort of glad she took his suggestion. Maybe she'd be open to read a few more?

Now how would she explain a rocket ship..."Well the rocket ship takes people up to outer space and even the moon from what i have heard from my parents." Belle chuckled to herself and then found another ornament which was a yellow golden glittering bauble to hang up on the tree. She actually manually put it on the tree. That was the magic of it all, just putting up ornaments by hand on the tree and smelling the evergreen tree.
"Siddie's boyish," She supplied without much explanation. But she did agree that Dora wasn't boyish at all, hence her introducing herself by her nickname. The second year watched the Santa fly close on his broom before letting her gaze fall on the rocket ship Santa.
Take muggles to the moon? "I've read some stuff about that, muggles going into space." Sounded dumb, but muggles sometimes did weird stuff like that. She pulled out a blue ornament and placed it on the tree near the bronze one. House colors for the win. "They never found anything up there right? On the moon. Or the other planets." She couldn't be too sure on account of hardly ever reading stuff on muggles.

Milton sipped his peppermint hot cocoa and nudged Taryn's arm. "Wanna do some decorating?" Grin.
Taryn thought it was funny that now Milton was the one doing the tugging. She gladly let him tug her about the Great Hall until they reached the tree. She marveled at it. "For sure." It even sort of hurt her neck to look at it for too long. "My dad likes to get huge trees, but we've never had one as big as this one." She tilted her head to one side. "He goes all out because Christmas was my mom's favorite."
Or at least, she'd been told as much.
She smiled at Milton and nodded, "Sure, why not?" There were quite a few other students doing it too, she was surprised there were still ornaments left to hang at all. "Here." Taryn picked one and held it out. "Levitate it up high!" The top needed decorated TOO.

Milton's eyes wandered up all the way to the top of the tree as Taryn spoke about her trees. "I don't think we could get a tree this big to fit under our ceiling," he said with a small laugh. Maybe they could just... keep the tree outside. Because now he wanted a tree THAT big. Hmmm... Milton's train of thought stopped when Taryn mention her mom. He looked at her and smiled softly, taking her hand in his. He knew how hard it was for her to talk about her mom, so he felt rather... special. "That's really nice."
When Taryn picked out an ornament, Milton got out his wand and pointed it at it. "Wingardium Levisoa," he said and watched it float out of Taryn's hand. Then he levitated it waaay up high, almost to the top before placing it on a branch. With a satisfied smile, Milton put his wand back away. "Perfect."

"Christmas is my favorite too." Yet another thing that made her so much like the mother she never knew. Bleh. Taryn nodded in agreement, but she was definitely done talking about her mother now, so... yeah. She gave a small smile and squeezed Milton's hand and tried not to blush... for whatever reason. She hardly needed a reason to. Sigh.
"Wonderful, now it's my turn." Taryn used her wand to levitate an ornament out of the box and all the way up to where Milton had placed his. "Now our contribution to decorating is complete." GIGGLE.

Well, that was better than nothing, right? Milton didn't want to make her talk about her mom if she didn't want to, so he just left it at that.
Milton grinned and watched her put her ornament up by his own. "Well done." How CUTE was that? Milton and Taryn hanging ornaments together. How corny and so unlike him. Heh. Oh well.
Did that mean she was done with the tree? "You hungry?" They could go get some food because who didn't like food, right? "Or we could decorate gingerbread houses. Or meet Truebridge." Although that last option didn't really sound exciting. She was a GINGER after all, and those were a dangerous species.

Yeah, Taryn was done now. There were lots of others about to decorate the tree and she had one of her own to decorate when she got home. She tilted her head towards the direction where the meet and greet thing was set up, "Yeah, I've already met her. She's Tori's cousin." So like, she met her once. Yep. "She's nice and all." Taryn shrugged. She'd rather spend time with Milton than the Headmistress. "I like food." She grinned and wiggled her eyebrows ridiculously. HEHE.
"Siddie's boyish," She supplied without much explanation. But she did agree that Dora wasn't boyish at all, hence her introducing herself by her nickname. The second year watched the Santa fly close on his broom before letting her gaze fall on the rocket ship Santa.

Belle shrugged when she agreed that Sidde's boyish. Everyone had their own opinion. Belle chuckled when Dora mentioned saying that she read some stuff about muggles going to the moon. Belle actually had to go back to her muggle days when she learned about people going to the moon.
"Well i do not think they really found life on the moon but i think they found some moon rocks on the planets. I am sure the astronauts footprints are on the moon. Oh astronauts are humans that go up into space. They wear suits so they can breathe on the moon. I think that is quite weird if you ask me."
Belle found another ornament and it was a golden snitch ornament. It looked pretty. Belle was glad to put it up there. She loved the look of the tree already.

Gwen just grinned at his remark. ‘Well… I’m not the only one’ Yes, the Hufflepuff seemed quite happy as well. Though, it was probably more obvious with Gwen, since she wasn’t usually smiling for so long. Whilst Jory… eh… smiling and being friendly was just screaming Hufflepuff. Heh. ‘Right’, she nodded, picking another decoration from the box and looking for a spot on the tree where to hang it.
And then…
…. the inevitable happened.
Jory just asked about Ari, making Gwen draw her attention away from the decoration she had just placed on one of the tree branches. ‘I ummm…’ Come on. He just asked if she had seen her around. Just that. ‘Well, yes, but I haven’t really talked to her’, she finally replied. She really missed spending time with Ari. ‘How about you?’
‘Umm...’Where Are You Now’… It was the first book written by her that I could find’, Gwen said. ‘I really liked it’, she finished talking. Muggle books turned out to be quite interesting, and Gwen was glad she found out about some of them from Jory.

"Muggles do interesting things sometimes." Like going to the moon. "Mostly weird though. Going to the moon is interesting though, and probably fun to if we did it our way." With magic. It was just better.
She continued to put up more ornaments where the tree was bare, but didn't drift too far from the prefect. "Are you muggleborn? Is that how you know about astronauts and rocket ships? Or do you just really like studying them?" Was that something she would get to study when she toke the class?

Jory grinned. "It's the best time of the year,'' he said simply. Though he missed everyone back home. He had informed his parents he'd be staying at Hogwarts for the holidays but hadn't given a reason. They seemed to understand his choice despite that.
"I haven't gotten much time to talk to her either,'' the Puff said. "I've got her present and everything.'' That reminded him. "I've got something for you, too,'' he told Gwen. It was up in his dorm all wrapped and ready.
"I haven't read that one,'' he mused. Since Gwen now approved of Muggle books now, he was sure she would like his present. He had put a hold on reading- for now at least. OWLs were fastly approaching.

Belle agreed that muggles did interesting things sometimes. Belle chuckled and agreed saying, "Yeah imagine if we went to the moon our way. Do you think brooms would make it to the moon or would they just fall to the earth?" Belle was wondering that. "I also think we would need helmets since we wouldn't be able to breathe. I mean i do not want myself or even you dying."
Belle heard Dora's question about being muggle born. Belle blushed and said, "It's that obvious huh? Well i went to a preschool and a elementary school before i came here. My dad who is the muggle believed i needed some education in the muggle world. So my teachers were talking about astronauts one day and i was so interested, i actually researched it. I know i am a nerd huh?"

"Maybe? If we figured out a way to protect the broom, and us, from the atmosphere. One of the fastest broom models too." Dora responded thoughtfully, seriously considering the idea of wizards on the moon. "Not helmets, but charms like the bubble head charm only a modified one specifically for space adventures." They would look silly with helmets.
It was very obvious, but Dora didn't mind. She didn't really have many muggleborn friends and found the lifestyle a bit fascinating. "Not nerdy at all. I would have done the same thing," She wasn't a Ravenclaw for any old reason. "Do you miss the muggle life? What's it like?" All of it. She didn't even know where she wanted the older girl to start. There was SO MUCH to find out about muggles, and she'd yet to really start.
