Welcome back to the charms classroom. Those of you who are returning students will remember the dark well polished furniture and the stone floor that is so clean you can almost see yourself in them. Professor Bellaire is waiting at the front of her classroom.

Minerva kept practicing, but kept missing the basket. She smirked to herself. She had never been this bad at a spell, not even first year. Was it to obvious that she might be goofing some of it on purpose. Looking around to see if Ethan found her ball she noticed someone glaring at them. Her smirk grew as she looked at Elliot's annoyance at Ethan helping her. Looking back at the ball she flicked her wand, Depulso the ball went just to the front of the basket, but fell before making it in. She couldn't be completely horrible while Elliot was watching, oh no that was not allowed.
Looking back up she saw Ethan come towards her, "Found your ball?" She smiled then listened to what he had to say. Concentrate and focus, oh dear that was so difficult while he was standing that close to her. She was going to try her best though. She closed her eyes and took a few breaths, then opening them she looked at the ball, then to the basket, and then back to the ball. Flicking her wrist towards the basket Depulso the ball moved easily to the basket and went in. She looked up and smiled, "I did it!!"
Cora jumped a bit, easily startled as always. Clearly her sitting off to the side had not gone unnoticed. Oh, well. At least it's just Eliza. Cora kept her arms wrapped around her legs, but smiled at Eliza. She always seemed to be there when Cora was out of sorts.
"Yes. I'm fine, thanks. Just didn't feel much up to doing this activity today." Cora shrugged, trying to stay cheerful. She wanted to tell Eliza what was bothering her, but NOT HERE.
Looking towards Eliza's ball, she added, "I usually try to banish the ball a little further than the basket. I'm not sure why, but it worked for me." Cora wanted to be helpful, and was trying to change the subject, giving Eliza a "I'll tell you later" look.
-----
Cora's cheeks immediately became red. Oh no. Now someone else noticed me?! She looked up at the Slytherin, who she had definitely seen but hadn't met. "Oh, um. I-I'm fine."Oh, great. REAL convincing."It's just, I don't really feel well." Cora said with a try for a smile. Cora was trying to cover up for what was really wrong. But to be honest, Cora actually didn't feel well.
"Don't worry about me. Thank you though. I'm Cora." Cora said sweetly. Of course she would be polite and introduce herself. Something about Cora did feel a bit off. Her head was spinning a bit, but Cora didn't want to cause a fuss.
----
Cora's eyes drifted to a ball that landed close to where she sat. Curious, she looked up in the direction the ball came from, and saw Ethan, walking towards her, concern written all over his face. Cora's eyes lit up, and then she frowned. Now, even Ethan would see her sitting out.
"Oh, hi Ethan. It's nothing. I'm fine, thanks." Cora eyes fell to the ground. "I'm just not quite feeling well." Cora hated for all the attention to be on her, but she could hardly fake things. She was an AWFUL liar. And while some things were bothering her, mainly the fact that she had ACTUALLY been jealous, she couldn't quite ignore the slight dizzy feeling she felt. Cora's face was a bit pale as she looked at the three concerned classmates.
Can't everyone just ignore me? Did Cora really mean that?
Eliza saw the look in Cora's eyes and had learned her lesson about prying in front of other people. She gave her a knowing look and nodded, mouthing the word "Okay". Hopefully Cora could relax a little more knowing Eliza had no intention of dragging anything out of her right here and now. The first year remained very quiet as Daichi and Ethan checked in on Cora as well. She laughed at Daichi's mention of her hitting Cora with a ball too and said to him jokingly, "Ha, ha very funny Daichi. No I didn't hit her too." She chuckled to let him know she was okay with being teased. She turned her eyes back to Cora after Ethan had suggested she kept trying the lesson even if she didn't feel like it. She gave Cora another look of assurance and added a little loudly in case the professor was listening, "Thanks for the tip, Cora. I think I'll try that this time!" She motioned for Cora to stand near her while she practiced the spell a few more times. That way it would look like Cora was helping her, even if all she was really doing was standing silently and keeping her thoughts to herself for now.
Eliza really did appreciate the tip she'd received so she tried the spell again. This time she pictured the ball going towards the opposite edge of the basket, the end farthest from herself. Knowing now that she could send a ball flying across the room, she didn't want to aim too far past her actual target. She looked at the ball again, then to the basket, concentrated and said in a firm voice, "Depulso!" The ball flew into the air, over to the basket, hit the edge of it like a basketball hitting the backboard, and dropped into the basket. I did it! she thought happily. "It worked!" she said in Cora's direction. Maybe if Cora knew she'd helped someone she might perk up a bit. Something must really be bothering her though for her to be so down. She hoped everything would be all right and was anxious to help her friend after class, if she could.
Daichi let out a chuckle as a ball rolled by just when he was asking if the girl was alright. Looking up, he noticed that another Ravenclaw walked towards them and he couldn't help but feel...out of place. Being the only Slytherin and all.
He was about to shrug his shoulders to the guy when the girl in question spoke.
"Are you sure you're fine?" her cheeks seemed to redden with the second. "You're not having a fever right?"
"Daichi" he said curtly and with a quick nod and smile flashed to her. Reason why the introduction was so short was because they were still in class. And the Professor wouldn't probably like it if they talked instead of practised. "If you're feeling fine, i think it's better if you stood up from the ground." he said as he quickly glanced to the Professor. "I'm sure she doesn't like it if you just sat down during class and not participated" House points would be going byebye. Wait, why was he even concerned about the Ravenclaws?

He glanced over at the Slytherin boy as he spoke and nodded in agreement. "Do you think you can continue with the lesson, Cora? He's probably right.." Daichi, was it? "I don't want to see you get in any trouble.." He shot a glance towards the professor.. she was one not to be messed with. Ethan turned back to Cora with a sympathetic smile. "Maybe you should see the healer after class.. okay?"
"Well.. I should go back and practice.." he added before starting back to where he had been. He didn't want to feel Bellaire's wrath either.
As Ethan headed back to his original spot in the classroom, he spotted DJ up ahead practicing the spell. As he approached, he stood behind him, watching for a moment. "Tricky one, isn't it?" he finally said after the first year had a couple misses. "You know, I was just thinking how handy this spell could be on the golf course.. once it's mastered, of course," he told the younger boy with wink before heading back over to Minnie.
Ethan walked back over to his spot in the classroom, glancing over to where Cora was. He hoped that she was alright.. she did not look well at all. He'd make it a point to find out after class if she was alright or visited the healer, but for now he had to keep practicing the spell.. or help Minnie master it.
"Okay.. got my ball," he said, holding it up for Minerva to see. And he watched her perform the spell a couple times.. or at least try to perform it. "Well, first.. make sure you're pronouncing it correctly.. Depulso.. But what works for me is the concentration and focus. Point that wand first at the ball, then exactly where you want it to go.. and picture it happening. Think of nothing else until it goes there.." He gave her an encouraging smile. "Okay.. let's see you try it again."
Cora knew that everyone was right. She would get into a lot of trouble when the professor noticed her. And since there were three classmates looking at her, it couldn't be long before she was seen.
Getting up, Cora said, "You're right, of course. It's nice to meet you." Getting up was a bit harder than she had hoped. For some reason, Cora was a little dizzy. But that was not a big deal, and Cora did not want to cause more of a fuss then she already had.
Glancing at the professor, Cora wondered if she should ask to be excused, but not wanting to get in trouble, Cora followed Eliza's motioning and pretended to watch her, with one hand clutching her head.
Laura sighed, she had been busy thinking about doing the spell but she wasn't sure if it would work or not well she was was ready now and hopefully the Professor wouldn't mind about how long it had took her to get ready.
Laura took out her new wand, she hadn't used it yet and she wasn't sure how good it would be, it wasn't at all like her old wand. "Depulso!" Laura pointed her wand at the basketball but nothing happened, she would try again in a minute though.
Next Sarah picked out the dark purple ball and threw it up in the air a bit and caught it distractedly, her eyes roaming the room at the others. They seemed to be pretty good at that! She then put the ball on the floor, pointed her wand and it, said "depulso" and flicked herw and towards the basket thinking of the ball going there... and behold it did. She quite liked the sight of it now, the colour co-ordination was awesome!
Laura looked around everyone was getting it, whilst she was struggling it wasn't fair, it wasn't her fault her new wand and herself wasn't getting along yet, it was like they had to learn to trust each other and Laura wasn't sure she trusted the wand yet, looking at the ball she smiled as she spoke the spell again. "depulso!" Laura sighed still nothing happened.
Since Belle mad her first basket in she wanted to try it again. Belle took a purple ball from the front and put it a few feet away from the basket. She wanted to focus on her accuracy. Belle put the ball a little farther away than last time.
Belle put her ball a few feet away from her. Then she did a little flick and said "Depulso!" very clearly. Then she moved her wand and it made it in!
Feeling pretty confident now that she had made one in the basket, Eliza decided to try another. She walked over to the basket to retrieve her purple ball and then went and grabbed another from the pile of unclaimed balls. Less walking, more casting, she thought. She went back to her standing area by Cora and sat both balls on the ground. She pointed her wand at the purple ball, pictured it going into the basket, and cast. "Depulso!"She shoots, she scoooores! It had gone right in this time, no need to bounce or retry or anything. She wanted to see how quickly she could cast the spell so she went and got the purple ball again.
This time she set the balls side by side and prepared to cast quickly on them both. I bet this will work, she thought hopefully. She focused herself again and then flashed her eyes to her targets, one right after the other. "Depulso," on one, "Depulso!" on the other. She watched anxiously as they flew, one trailing after the other, until they both sank into the basket like two stars falling from the sky. "Awesome!" she breathed to herself. I wonder what else we'll be doing in this lesson.

After that heartbreaking event of NOT banishing the stupid purple ball, Kat picked a different ball. Closing her eyes, she randomly chose a light purple one. -______________- What is it with purple around her? It's like purple is attached to her.... but she hates them. Ugggh. Bad purples.
Pointing her wand at the eye-blinding light purple ball, Kat was ready to turn up the heat. "Depulso!" And... FLY FLY IT GOES.... SHOOT! The ball went inside the basket. OH YES. KAT HAS FINALLY DOMINATED THE WORLD OF PURPLE. Grinning so wide, Kat was very pleased of herself. Good job Hudson, show those purple balls who's the boss.

She then reached into the balls and took out the light blue one. It was like the colour of the sky.. although not the sky that was over Britain (which is often grey). "Depulso" she said carefully and the ball landed next to the purple ball.
The dark blue was next, and Sarah placed it on the ground before her. "Depulso" she said and the the dark blue one joined the others. This banishing was fun! Made life a whole lot simpler!
