Welcome back to the charms classroom. Those of you who are returning students will remember the dark well polished furniture and the stone floor that is so clean you can almost see yourself in them. Professor Bellaire is waiting at the front of her classroom.

2.Come in quietly
3.Stand by your desk (do not sit until she tells you to do so)

He grasped the red ball in his hand and put his another hand to his nose to see what damage was done.
He moved his hand from his nose and looked down to see that a small amount of blood was covering the tips of his fingers. He quickly placed his hand back over his nose and pinched it tight to prevent anymore blood from coming out. His nose also felt slightly off center.
He looked back up when he saw Mordred standing before him at the doorway. "I would be less prone to accidents if Harvey let me bring your gift to school with me." Oakey gave a small smirk to his best friend. "says he's worried I'd use it before matches and exams."
Setting the red ball back down on the floor Oakey reached for Mordy's hand and stood up with his help. "I should probably stay here." There was no way Bellaire was even going to let him breathe in her class now.
Mordred shook his beautiful head at Oakey and examined his nose. “Your nose...looks weird.” Mordred wanted to laugh right in front of his best bud but forced himself not to. Did he just break Oakey’s nose? He knew how to fix it, but knowing the evil healer’s still around Hogwarts, he decided against offering further help in fixing Gunter’s nose. Besides, he wasn’t really good with healing spells. “Do you want me to call Bellaire’s attention? You need to see the healer.” The boy eyed the Hufflepuff in front of him with his bloodied hand.
He turned around to see Ella eyeing him then went towards Sophie, then to Daichi whose ball went flying back to where the students were. Apparently he too got in an accident since he was holding his nose. “Bellaire didn’t put bludgers in there, right?” And where was she anyway?
“You stay right there.” Mordred told Oakey and picked up his red ball and joined the rest of the students. Dropping the ball on the floor, he didn’t wait for it to immobilize and focused on the spell, his aim and intent. “DEPULSO!” The red ball flew toward his target and into the basket, making it skid slightly on the floor. With that done, he gestured Oakey to come inside so Bellaire could see him.

Hmpf! Hannah really hated when she did not get things done right the first time especially when other people didn't seem to be having any problems at all with it. As if she wasn't feeling bad enough already here came her best friend being all conceited. This was normal for the both of them, but she just wasn't in the mood for anything right now. She rolled her eyes at Elliot. "Let's see you try Morganzo." Show her how to do it.
She watched as Elliot's too off but fell short. She had to put her hand over her mouth to stifle a snort. She sure showed her. Now was the time that she had to get it. Once was ok, but twice would never be ok with her. Deep breath.
She concentrated on the stupid ball going into the basket and she positioned herself so that she had perfect aim. It was so going in this time. She concentrated and shouted "Depulso." She watched as her balled zoomed towards the basket. She started to get worried when it looked like it was starting to shake and fall of course, but right at the last moment the ball made its way into the basket like a good little ball. She had done it. She looked back over at Elliot and her face clearly said that, that was how you did it.

Kurumi was ducked and doing the occasional roll to the side as balls went flying across and around the classroom. Some managed to get into baskets, others bouncing off walls, others smacking people in the face. "Are you alright Daichi?!" He seemed alright from where she was was, so that was good.
Attention back on the balls, Kurumi figured she needed to challenge herself a little more with this and figured she should give it a go. Pointing her wand at a yellow ball and narrowed her eyes, focusing on the incantation and repeating it in her head before giving her wand a violent flick towards a basket and....nothing happened.
Cue a frown and some serious furrowing of the brows.
Thrusting her wand a bit more umpth towards the same yellow ball, Kurumi gave this nonverbal thing a go again - reeeeeeeeally visualizing the ball rising out of its basket, shooting across the room, and landing in one of the empty ones on the other side of the room.

Her second ball went right into the basket, and Vivi wondered if this was a good time to develop a victory dance. It would probably be frowned upon, especially in this classroom, so she did a mental victory lap. Raaaaaah.
She pointed her wand at an orange ball, deciding that this was a good time to try the spell non-verbally. Only... Kurumi seemed to be trying to stare a hole through the ball and basket and into the floor, and Vivi was fully distracted by that.

"Nonverbal? I'll race you."
Sigh. This wasn't working. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason to what nonverbal spells Kurumi could do and what ones she couldn't. Banishing was clearly on the list of couldn't for the time being though.
Mostly just to prove to herself that she could still perform the spell, she concentrated on the yellow ball again and flicked her wand lazily towards one of the baskets. "Depulso." The yellow ball shot across the room, entirely missed the basket, hit the wall, and then came to a rolling stop at her feet. Sighing, Kurumi bent down to pick up the ball when Vivi came by.
"Race? What did you have in mind?" she asked with a small grin. Whoever could empty one of the ball filled baskets the fastest? Kurumi had the feeling that Vivi would have the upper hand in whatever task they settled on, but some friendly competition might help motivate her magic to cooperate more.

Cora sighed. This sounded like a fun activity. And Cora was anxious to give it a try. But she was distracted. It had been a bad day, even for Cora. What was happening? Cora was always happy, skipping and humming about. But not today.
She pointed her wand at the ball, and muttered, "Depulso." The ball headed straight towards the basket, but stopped about one eighth of the way there, lacking energy. Just like Cora. Sigh.
Frowning, Cora grabbed the blue ball and tried again.

She rushed over to him and said in a flurry of hand waves and apologetic gestures, "Ohmygosh Daichi, I'm so sorry! Are you okay? Let me see! I didn't mean to - I-I" She hoped he wouldn't be too mad about it, and that she hadn't done much damage. She definitely didn't want to hurt anyone but almost even more than that she really didn't want to get in trouble or deemed unsafe and thrown out of class! Especially now that they were talking a little and she'd heard how much Bellaire hated talking in class. She looked around nervously as she reached down to pick up her purple accidental missile. Please don't get me in trouble, please, please. I love Charms! she pleaded silently.
Well, this was Charms class. With a bunch of underaged wizards and witches, accidents were bound to happen right? And it seemed that he wasn't the only one getting hurt because when he looked around he saw Oakey actually bleeding from his nose. Daichi touched his own and was glad that his nose just hurt and did not bleed. He rubbed it again when he heard a familiar voice asking if he was alright. He gave a thumbs up to Kurumi to show he was and then heard Mordred say from a few steps beside him if the balls were actually bludgers.
This made the Snake laugh again but quickly stopped laughing since his nose did hurt. And then the evil-doer came to him. Apologizing and all. He recognized the girl from Winter Wonderland and he waved his hands. "I'm fine, i'm fine" no he wasn't! it huuuurt! But she was still a first year so he couldn't expect her to be perfect at it right? Not to mention that Daichi was in his fifth year and this spell was one of the first he had gotten right. So no , he was not mad because he knew how difficult it is to perform magic.
When the little girl asked if she could see what she had done to his nose he slowly removed his hand and winched a little. The bridge of his nose was a little red and perhaps it was going to leave a bruise later. "Does it look ...normal?" he asked and then looked at the poor Hufflepuff. "Atleast mine is not bleeding like Oakey's.... "

She gave them time to do so and once they did she banished the desk and chairs to the back of the class. Demonstration number one. Now there was a large enough space in the class for everyone to be able to practice the charm.
"The wand motion is very simple. All you need to do is point your wand at the object you are banishing...like I just did with the desks and chairs."
With another flick of her wand the container of brightly colored balls appeared at the front of the class and so did many different baskets. The Charms professor got to work lining the wall with the basket and placing the ball container a few feet away from. "The aim is to banish the ball into a basket...like so."
She demonstrated causing a purple ball to fly into a basket.
"If you are clear on the instructions you may begin. If not feel free to ask questions."
Depulso. Depulso. Depulso. And point the object with your wand. Just as SIMPLE as that. Surely, she won't go tumbling down with this one right? It was almost basic. However, she still needed to concentrate and focus on her intent.
She watched as the Charms Professor banished the desks and tables to the back of the classroom and nodded reverently.
Then came the container of colored balls that they were to banish into the baskets at the wall. She also gathered her attention as the next demonstration followed. Purple ball sent flying into the basket! Purple ball! Purple!
Feeling as if she was ready for the practical part of the lesson, the Ravenclaw then did a little swishing of her wand before pointing her wand at a yellow-colored ball. Intent...focus... "Depulso!" she muttered the incantation and as she did, the ball zoomed towards the basket and in it went.
BEAM.
See? She wasn't that bad with Charms....when the incantation wasn't so hard to memorize and pronounce, that is. Hehe.

As always.
She backed up and aimed her wand at the ball. "Depulso," she said, pointing the wand forward. The green ball shot toward the basket, but just when it looked like it would go in, it bounced off the wall and rolled to the floor.
Err. Nobody saw that, did they?
She was still admiring herself for a job well done. It was pretty great achievement for her, really..considering how she coped up with casting charms for the last four years. She was about to pick another ball when she saw one bounce off the wall near the basket that she's sent her yellow sphere earlier.
Oh, and look whose it was. It was Sierra's.
"I saw that." Beezus said casually, giving the Slytherin Prefect a quick grin, before selecting another ball to test her competency.
Sarah winced as she held the orange ball in her hand. She hated Orange... yuck, yuck, yuck... it was a good thing she was to be banishing it now. Nestled in the basket already were the green and yellow balls so it was obvious that orange was going to go next.
"Depulso" she said, flicking her wand at the obscene coloured ball aiming at the basket... well Sarah was good at banishing the thing she does not like as the ball went straight to the right destination.
The red ball was up next on the diving board and Sarah flicked her wand at that too. It looked a bit like an apple. With a depulso the 'apple' scurried to join the others

Minerva had a few close attempts, but none that went into the basket. She knew she could do this, but why was she not hitting it yet. Then a thought came in her mind and she couldn't help but give a small smile. Aiming another ball with her wand Minerva said the spell, "DEPULSO" the ball went off further then any of her balls before and over shot the basket.
Trying to look at frustrated as possible she sighed, "Oh, why can't I get this.." she grumbled and then looked at Ethan. Walking over towards him she smiled, "You seem like you are doing great Ethan. Umm.. you wouldn't be able to watch me for a second and see if you can figure out what I'm doing wrong?" She blushed a bit and then smiled at him.
After half-heartedly banishing a handful a balls only a few feet each, Cora was about to give up. She was not in the mood for this. Cora was about to fake some stomach ache or something, when she glanced over at Ethan.
He was talking to some Hufflepuff that Cora didn't know, and the way the girl looked at him made Cora uncomfortable. Turning away quickly, Cora had some newfound energy as she quickly pointed her wand at the ball in front of her and uttered, "Depulso." The ball quickly fell directly into the basket, confirming that Cora could in fact perform the spell.
Satisfied that she had been successful, Cora banished two more into the basket before dropping her wand next to her and sitting down with her arms around her knees. She sighed, and simply watched the others continue. This was SO unlike Cora.
Standing by the front of the classroom, Renesmee watched as the Professor demonstrated the charm to the whole entire class. It looked pretty simple, at least the aiming did, but as for the actual spell she knew she needed to try and see first.
Ready to have a go at the spell. Renesmee aimed her wand a bright green ball. She closed her eyes for a short moment and pictured in her mind, how she wanted the spell to go. Ball banishing into the basket again, and again, Nessie repictured the scene a few times. She could do this. She just needed to believe, which right now she did.
Opening her eyes, the fifth year focused once more on the green ball. "Depuls--OW!" Some ball went flying into her foot and had distracted her entirely. She still somehow managed to finish off her flick. It didn't do much though, which could have been a good thing. All it did was lift up the ball a few centimetres and then dropped the ball back to the ground.
Why? Why did she always get so unlucky when it came to spell work?
At least this time it wasn't bad enough to cause chaos. That would have been much worse...

Sierra's gaze instinctively went to Kurumi Hollingberry and Vivi Branxton. Above all, those were the two people she hated to see her fail. Well, Tori Bunbury would be on up there, too, but Tori wasn't here anymore, was she? Sierra scooped up the ball that had rolled back to her feet and re-positioned it before her.
This time she took extreme care to make sure everything was perfect. The first thing she did was line the ball up with the basket. She eyed it from several different angles, and everything looked just fine to her. Next, she checked the aim of her wand. Yeah, everything was just fine. Should be, at least. "Depulso!" Sierra said, pointing her wand forward.
The ball shot forward again, landing on the rim of the basket and spinning, leaving Sierra anxious to see the outcome. It spun some more until finally, it spun into the basket. WOOT!
This made the Snake laugh again but quickly stopped laughing since his nose did hurt. And then the evil-doer came to him. Apologizing and all. He recognized the girl from Winter Wonderland and he waved his hands. "I'm fine, i'm fine" no he wasn't! it huuuurt! She looked on with concern at Daichi as he waved her off. He acted like he was fine, but she could see his skin turning red beneath his hand. When he agreed to let her see, the leaned in closer - careful not to be weirdly close though - and inspected it. "It...well it looks normal...in shape." She offered a shrug and kind eyes. She saw the Hufflepuff, Oakey, he mentioned. His did look much worse for sure. "It's just a little red, but it looks like it might smart for a few days." She backed away and rocked on the heels of her feet. "I'm sorry, again, Daichi. Maybe I should practice some more, and uh, not say the spell so loudly this time."

She tried to smile at him and started to head back over to her basket area when she saw Cora sitting glumly on the ground. Eliza seemed to be breaking all of the speaking rules already, and her friend seemed sad, so she figured what could it hurt to say one more thing before class was over? She approached her and crouched down. In a soft voice she spoke, "Cora? Are you all right?" She made a visual sweep of the area, to be sure no flying balls would hit them, for the moment. She didn't want to look like she wasn't paying attention to the lesson anymore, so she focused on a basket near them and cast the spell again, careful not to think of Cora as she banished. Wouldn't want to send a ball at her too, now would we? She stood a little taller from her crouched position and said in an even, mild voice, "Depulso." She watched as her purple ball flew through the air towards the basket at a much safer velocity this time. It fell just a little short, bounced a few times, then rolled up again the bottom of the basket. Well that was closer at least.
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
Just as she got set to send another ball swooshing into the basket she felt something against her leg...
Oh?
Looking down she realized that one of the stray balls had rolled over to her. Hmmm...she looked to the Professor for a moment to make sure she wasn't looking then gave the ball a good kick. It bounced off the wall and just rolled right back. Neat. Why couldn't everything work like this? Taking another kick at it, this time it came closer to the basket but once again merely came rolling back.
Now came the hard part; banishing a moving object. This time, after kicking it she raised her wand and took aim. "Depulso!"
The ball shot up and hit the edge of the basket quite harshly before bouncing off and heading towards the Slytherin Prefect. Uh oh...
"Hey watch out!" Then she closed her eyes, not wanting to see if it actually hit her.

"I was thinking first to do the spell nonverbally wins, but I'm willing to up the stakes." Vivi gave the Gryffindor girl an evil little grin before pointing at a ball at her feet.
Without even looking at it, she murmured the incantation and directed the ball into a nearby basket. It was a little messy, but she'd done it without really looking... just a little showboating for the Gryffindor.

Cassia was listening to everything interestingly. She wasn't very good at charms true but she liked it. Learning new spells was always welcome especially useful ones like this banishing one. It could always come in handy. No one knows when the need comes to banish an unwanted something. Though it would have been cool too if it had been workable on people.Anyway..
Watching how the Professor banished the desks then the ball, Cassia's eyes lit with excitement. Because it appeared to be cool. She so had to learn this one!
Taking a green ball she stood a bit further away from the students. No need to hear anyone complaining that the ball hit them in the head or other parts. Reaching for her wand Cassia straightened and said ,"Depulso." That was just a training. "De-puu-lsoo!" Just to make sure that she got it right.
The secomd-year aimed her wand at the ball not so patient to practice more. "Depulso." She uttered and the ball bounced a bit but landed where it was without getting into the basket like the other students' were. She frowned at the ball and held it up. It was totally the balls fault because she was so sure that she had preformed the spell correctly and the movement as well.
After thinking whether to go and change the ball or not. Cassia decided to give it another chance. She took a couple of steps back and pointd her wand at the ball again. "Depulso!" She said urgently. The ball bounced and hit the basket from the outside then wandered away. Cassia run after the ball and retrieved it.
A couple of similar tries followed in which the ball banged the basket's exterior. And suddenly when she lost count of the attempts the ball DID land into the basket.
The slytherin froze. Did she do it? She stepped near the basked and peered into it. The ball was indeed in it. After processing this in her brain, Cassia grinned a wide lopsided grin! She DID it! Eeeeep. What now?

So... he got one ball in using the spell the first time out. Wanting to find out if it wasnt a fluke he aimed at another ball in the basket and uttered "Depulso!" The colored ball shot out of the basket and bounce so.close to the basket, before rebounding into the air, bounced against the wall and bounced back down to the floor, well outside the basket's reach...
Meh.... it was a lucky shot.

At least his nose wasn't broken or anything. But even if it was he could simply go to the hospital wing and get it fixed in a second. What made the Snake frown though was when the girl mentioned it was a bit red. He did not look like a clown right?!
And then she began to apologize.......again........ Daichi could tell that she was a really sweet, caring person even though this was the second time seeing her. He liked her and therefore held out his hand, lay it on her head and ruffled the first years hair.
WAAAAAAH! he was doing the ruffling noooooow! Mwuhaha! Usually it was people attacking his precious hair.
When she walked away, Daichi decided to practise again. He pointes his wand at one of the balls and after looking to see if his Path was clear he shouted "Depulso!" this Snake really loved this spell because the ball went flying across the room aaaaaand hit the top of the basket.
Almost! Pointing his wand to another ball, Daichi tried the Depulso! spell again but this time the ball was far off and hit the wall.

Satisfied that she had been successful, Cora banished two more into the basket before dropping her wand next to her and sitting down with her arms around her knees. She sighed, and simply watched the others continue. This was SO unlike Cora.
In the corner of his eyes, he saw Eliza moving away. With a frown, the fifth year wondered what she was doing so he followed her with his eyes. No he's not weird, just curious.
She seemed to be talking to a girl who was sitting on the ground and alarm bells seemed to rinkle in his head. Was the girl hurt? The Slytherin looked around for the Professor and then quickly ducked and moved swiftly to the two girls. "hit someone else again?" he joked to Eliza first before looking down at the other Ravenclaw. " are you okay?"

Glad the she had managed to get her ball in the basket she was ready to go again. She was having a hard time getting over the fact that she had not done so well in Transfiguration and decided that she would put that in the back of her mind for now because she was actually doing good in Charms.
She got another ball and aimed herself just right for the basket and concentrated on it going straight in with no problems this time. She was in the mode because she had actually cleared her mind of everything that was going on and focused soley on getting the ball into the basket. She shouted "Depulso." and a smile spread across her face as she watched her ball zoom in the basket with ease. Oh yeah she had mastered something and it felt good!

So Sierra was winning now. It was her versus the basket, and the basket had gotten the better of her only once. She was fierce an determined now. Class should be coming to a close soon, but no--she had to brutally beat the basket score-wise before that happened.
Again, she lined up a ball with the basket. She checked the aim of her wand and was just about to cast when--...
"Ow!" Sierra said, rubbing her forehead. Somebody's ball had smacked her right in the front of her head. She picked up the ball and turned to see just WHO had said 'Hey, watch out,' because it was no douby THEM who'd hit her in the head.
IT WAS THAT GIRL.
The one who'd been to detention and had supposedly been sent home for a week. Heh. Sierra could care less how many points the girl lost for Gryffindor, that was just more for Slytherin; but she did care that she just got hit in the head. She was so annoyed by it that she literally wanted to toss the ball and hit HER in the forehead...
...but she didn't. THE PROFESSOR. That was why. Lion Girl may not care about her house being dead last in the house points race, but Sierra surely did. She gave the girl a certain look then tossed the stray ball back into the box.
NOW...
Where was she? Oh, yes. "Depulso!" she said, and the ball she'd been aiming at before shot forward and hit the wall head-on. BLAHHH. Sierra blamed Lion Girl for causing a lack of concentration.

Ok, Professor didn't seem to... mind. Kat faced back to her basket. Her first attempt... was stupid. It didn't get inside the basket, for Merlin's sake. Gripping her wand tighter, Kat saw the drama around. Now there's a shocker. That little Cambridge girl had her ball flying towards Sierra. Oooohh, that lion should be lucky Sierra didn't breathe fire at her. 'Cause if Sierra did, Merlin knows how much points that would cost Slytherin. And Slytherin's top priority is to grab those house point oppurtunities.
Ok... Back to business. Kat looked at her ball, its progress was just a little movement. Annoying, it was. Kat never felt like a fail, but now she did. Sweet Merlin. This time, she was gonna get it RIGHT. Pointing at the ball with correct aim, Kat was ready to do some spellwork. "Depulso!"
The ball flew... That was odd. Where was it now? Kat looked around. Merlin it's not here. Then she peeked inside her basket....
There it was!!!
See? Kat wasn't bad at this after all. Now... Let's get some more balls rolling.

Her eyes shot open when she heard the girl say 'Ow'. Yuuup. That just confirmed what she thought would happen...
For a moment she thought to apologize but then...the girl was a snake. They weren't exactly known for their forgiving nature and she didn't want to waste an apology on someone who wouldn't accept it. No way, so she simply stood staring at her until she saw her give her a LOOK. Lex's eyes went wide and she stepped back slowly. For all she knew this girl might have had a temper on her and a quick wand hand!
Wait...the Professor was still here therefore she couldn't do anything! Hah--but did Slytherins care what Professor's said?
Deciding not to take any chances she moved even further away but by now the girl had gone back to the activity. Good. The Gryffindor would be spared for another day.
Now back to the activity. Spotting a green ball she took aim. "Depulso!" She grinned when it flew into the basket.

Sarah then picked out the dark pink ball "Depulso" she said flicking her wand and it went to join the others. She was getting good at it! The next ball she did was the light pink one. Sarah quite liked the fact that she improved each time. and the excitement she got as the basket began filling..
Oh he was really getting the hang of this. Ethan could not be more pleased that he actually found a spell that he was quite good at and he attributed it to the fact that he started learning it at the end of last term. Must've been all that extra practice. After about a dozen more Depulsos and watching the orange ball fly into the basket, he was getting tired of retrieving it and just bored in general. He decided to play a game with himself - banish the ball to the basket and summon it back to his hand as he wasn't half bad with a summoning charm.
On his first attempt, the ball fell short of his hand. He walked over to pick it up then banished it into the basket to try again. Ethan pulled together a little more focus and the ball went flying past his hand on his second attempt. He started to turn his head to see where it landed, when he spotted Minerva headed towards him. He shot her a wide grin at her words. He was doing quite well today, wasn't he? "You want my help?" he asked, slightly surprised. He could see asking his assistance in Herbology or Potions, but Charms? It wasn't exactly his strong point.. though he had to admit, he was rather successful with today's lesson. And he would be more than willing to help. "I guess I do owe you one after you helped me with Transfiguration," he said jokingly with a light chuckle.
"Of course.. let me just figure out where my ball went first."And make sure it didn't hit anyone. Ethan started in the direction his ball went and saw it on the ground near where Cora was sitting. Why was she on the ground with Eliza and a Slytherin boy crowded around her? He furrowed his brow slightly and stepped closer. "Is everything okay?" he asked with a hint of concern to the little group, his eyes landing on Cora. She wasn't hurt, was she? Did his ball hit her?
