Welcome back to the charms classroom. Those of you who are returning students will remember the dark well polished furniture and the stone floor that is so clean you can almost see yourself in them. Professor Bellaire is waiting at the front of her classroom.
IC rules: 1.Ensure that your uniform is immaculate
2.Come in quietly
3.Stand by your desk (do not sit until she tells you to do so)
4.Keep the chit chat to a minimum and if you can't control yourself, don't speak.
Theodore was like a grinning idiot. He loved this class. He smiled at the friends that had joined him. Blue, Ella and Sophie. But no time for chattering, it was lesson time. Depulso. He'd never actually heard of it before, but it sounded quite interesting. And useful, more importantly...
"Professor, can it banish people away?" He asked, lowering his raised hand as he finished. It was a serious question. Think of all the Ravenclaws he could vanquish with this spell?!
Cora began taking notes diligently. Not that she didn't already know what the banishing charm was, she just wanted to stay on top of everything.
And then some slytherin asked about banishing people away. PEOPLE. why would you even CONSIDER banishing people?! But Cora knew the answer, didn't she?
"Professor, I believe you can indeed banish people, correct?" And then furrowing her brow to send a look Slytherin's way, she continued. "But that would be entirely rude, not to mention cowardly if in a duel." There, Cora said it. She blinked with wide eyes, shocked that she had said such a thing, and made sure that her glance at the slytherin was not one of contempt, but merely caution. Cora was not exactly brave, but she wanted to discourage anything like banishing people. Hmph.
"But it's not like vanishing things. Don't you have to banish something to a specific place? Banishing would not get rid of something forever. Depending on where you send it." Cora said this in an inquiring tone, not one hundred percent sure, but sure enough to speak in class, which was big. Cora twirled a lock of her hair as she spoke.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Oakey gave a quick smile and nod to Mordy who was mocked his loud whisper back to him. Then he watched as friend motioned his hand his head and saw the Slytherin eying his hair.
Taking his one hand Oakey smoothed down his hair. Maybe it was a bit messy, but that's the way shaggy hair normally is. When he pulled his hand away he looked to see a cluster of spiderweb resting in it. making a disgusted face he looked to the Professor quickly then stuffed his hand in his pocket, she didn't notice the web in his hair when he came in so he must be fine. How did he even manage to brush past a web? The halls were filled with them so he may have walked into one with knowing.
Then Sophie walked right past them. Oakey was going to give a quick hello to his fellow puff, but she just ignored him. WAS SHE STILL ON ABOUT THE WHOLE BOXING TELESCOPE THING? THAT WAS MONTHS AGO! Oakey sighed and looked back to Mordy who looked just as puzzled as he did."I dunno?" Oakey mouthed quietly back.
Oakey turned his attention back to the front of the class as Bellaire started speaking. Oakey had read about the Banishing spell, but had never tried it. How helpful it would be if he could do it to Laura, or Elijah.
Speaking of Banishing two annoying Housemates, Oakey figured it be best to answer the question."Professor, unlike the Summoning Charm, The banishing charm which is it's counter spell, allows you to banish people and other living things."

"Today our focus will be on the banishing charm. The incantation for the banishing charm is Depulso. The word Depulso comes from the latin word depulsio which means to drive away." She wrote that down on the board too. After much reflection she realized that maybe in order to get everyone to learn she had to spoon feed knowledge to them all...word for word. Oh, well now wasn't this just ridiculous. House elves! That's what they were all being made to be like. What was the whole point in standing until they were told to sit anyway?! Nevertheless, Sierra sat down when she was told to--at the very exact time all how-many-ever-else-there-were students in the room.
She listened to the discussion around here, and in a matter of seconds, anything that she could think of had been said. She didn't even have a question to ask, because anything she might need to know had already been asked, as well. There was one tiny little detail she could come up with, though.
So she raised her hand. "There are exceptions to the incantation, Professor," she pointed out. "If we're banishing a boggart, we use an entirely different incantation. Is that because a boggart isn't exactly an object, but rather just something feeding off our fears?" Or would depulso work on a boggart, too? Hmm. She'd never seen it used in that way.

Ella was shifting from one foot to the other waiting for class to start when Sophie came and stood with her, Theodorable, and Bluetiful. The third year BEAMED at her best friend, bouncing a bit on her heels. Class was going to be much better now that Soph was here, her enthusiasm on the subject always got Ella excited too.
O___O
She jumped ever so slightly when Bellaire suddenly slammed the door shut. MEEP. Looks like her calm mood from last lesson was over. The third year felt quite bad for anyone that was going to get on her bad side today!
So they could sit now? Brilliant. The badger plopped down in her seat and her green eyes traveled from the Professor to the board, eyeing the notes before jotting them down. The banishing charm, eh? Ella had never used that before. Depulso...Depulso...Depulso... At least the incantation wasn't too hard.
Ella listened as her classmates shared what they knew about the charm, adding to her notes if anything new popped up. She also listened to their questions, one in particular. Theodore. Frown. She shook her head at him before looking back towards the front. In all honesty, it wasn't even a bad question. Unfortunately it had just hit Ella in the feels. She couldn't understand why you'd want to banish a person, or why a person would ever want to be banished. Ugh. Mom stuff rearing it's ugly head again.
Eliza nodded along with what others had already said. Banishing was the opposite of summoning. Meaning you could push things away from you, or send them somewhere else - but it didn't mean they were truly gone. Not like vanishing, which she wasn't sure should exist anyway. What if you wanted to take a vanishing spell back? Could you? It seemed awfully dangerous to her. Especially for someone who changes their mind often. She kept taking notes and hoped no one was hoping to banish OR vanish her at the moment.
Finally, a Professor who actually looked up the Latin definition. Seriously, Selina was getting really sick and tired of Professors who used these flimsy definitions and pretended they knew how to translate them. At least her Charms Professor said that it was derived from a specific Latin word and did not try to translate it. THAT would have been a disaster. Because, well, it didn't really translate. It was a butchering of the beautiful language of all of the great philosophers, architects and poets. If she had said the TRANSLATION was enter definition here, Selina would have flipped. She was really good at that.
But beyond being proud of her not trying to translate the Latin, Selina had nothing further to add. The redhead, instead, just sat quietly in her seat and waited for something... anything. Yeah, time to learn. LET'S GO!
Interesting choice for today's lesson. The red head listened carefully and scribbled down some notes as she read what was written on the board too.
This would all benefit her later on when it came to studying.
The red head looked at Sarah for a moment as the young little firstie asked her question. Also on about the whole thing as to where the objects went. It was a good question, because surely whatever the object you performed the spell on, it had to go somewhere. It couldn't just vanish into thin air.
As for any other questions, Nessie didn't really have any. Instead she observed what the others were saying.

Vivi eased into her seat as soon as the professor gave permission. She had to give the woman style points... in spite of the concussion from her last class, Vivi liked the discipline and order that Bellaire demanded. It was very conducive to her learning.
She mused over her classmates questions before positing one of her own. Hand raised, of course. "What are the limits to a banishing spell? If one had enough focus, could you banish something miles away? Or further?"
Smile. Smile. Smile! Sophie smiled at each of her friends that were standing next to her and then turned to face the professor, who slammed the door shut! The brunette didn't even care, because CHARMS.
She was ready to leeaaarn!!! GRIN!
Once they were allowed to, Sophie sat down and resisted the urge to kick her legs back and forth under the desk. She was truly excited and couldn't wait to learn a new spell! She watched closely as professor Bellaire wrote stuff on the board and her smile widened when she realised the spell they'd be working on that day.
Depulso! She had already used that before!! Like Kurumi said, it was slightly more difficult than the Summoning Charm, but it still wasn't that complicated! The latin part was new to Sophie, though. She quickly wrote down that piece of information, taking a note next to it to learn more latin. That was her new resolution, yep! Sophie was going to learn a LOT more latin from now on! That would certainly help with learning more spells faster! Muehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe!
Her eyes were sparkling as her classmates spoke. There wasn't anything Sophie wanted to ask or add to what the others were saying, so she just sat there quietly, squeezing her hands that were resting on the desk.
She was READY TO PRACTICE already!!! GRIIINNN!!!

Minerva listened as the Professor talked about what they were doing today. The banishing charm. That was an interesting thing to learn. Then someone asked if it could banish people away. Wouldn't that be nice, but it probably didn't. She was almost positive of that one. Putting up her hand, "Professor, with the banishing charm don't you have to have a location in mind to send an object, you just don't want to shoot it in the air or anything." She thought that wouldn't be good, because you could hit someone or something.

..UGH.
Where did Oakey come from? Seriously, this guy has been getting on her nerves. Everytime she would tall to Mordred, the Puffer would interrupt. Merlin, he sure had issues. After narrowing her eyes at the Hufflepuff, she nodded at the Slytherin and settled down on her seat when Professor Bellaire shut the door close and asked them to do so.
They were tackling Depulso today, the Banishing Charm? Okay.
She knew what its function was, which is to make things seemingly disappear, though in reality it is some sort of transportation charm because it basically relocates the object of interest, sending it away from the caster into a another place.
Questions? Nope. Additional information, if there is that she could share? Nope. So the Ravenclaw stayed listening to the small discussion. Maybe she'd actually develop more interest.

No talking?
Weird...but okay...she could handle that...sort of...pssh, no big deal. She could stop talking at any point--she didn't have a problem. Right, so while she didn't talk she took a seat and began scribbling the notes onto her parchment.
Once her notes were taken her attention turned to the Professor again as she began to explain the lesson ahead. Banishing...? This could be quite useful to her so naturally she had a question. "Is this spell limited to certain things or can we make anything go away?" Like faaaaar away.
"I didn't notice you raise your hand Miss Cambridge..don't let it happen again. You can banish just about anything. But like with all spells there are some degree of limitations be it small or not."

Ooooh depulsio.
That could come in really handy when cleaning the dorm. Her hand shot up.
"Aftah you banish an object, where does it go?"
"After..." Oi, she shook her head..." you banish an object it goes where you send it so naturally a lot of concentration is needed."

Her stomach tied in knots and she glanced nervously around the room for Selina. Last lesson that that spell had been in practice had been when Professor Descoteaux had taught and had unleashed a horde of chocolate frogs that they had to banish into boxes....and Kurumi had broken Selina's nose. She had already done that this term in Astronomy thanks to a bottle rocket.
There weren't going to be any chocolate frogs this lesson, right? Kurumi would ask, but Professor Bellaire would have no idea what she was talking about.
Setting her quill down, Kurumi raised her hand to offer up a little factoid since she didn't really have any questions. "I've read that the Banishing Charm is more difficult than the Summoning Charm because you are sort of doing two things at once. With the Summoning Charm you are changing the nature of the item to move to you. With the Banishing Charm you are not only changing the nature of the object to make it move, but you are also guiding it to a desired location, such as in a box or closet." Which is why you needed to have careful aim like Vickers had just said.
"Nice to see you reading..class you may also take note of that as well." The older students were on fire today. Very good, it made a job a bit easier.

Oooohh. The banishing charm? It wasn't that interesting, really. At least they had a little knowledge that it doesn't make anything vanish, just banish. Well... that's what people should get in mind.
Listening to the responses of other students, Kat had to add some... even the tiniest piece of information would help. "In addition to Kurumi's answer, the Banishing Charm is the countercharm to the Summoning Charm which is Accio." Nobody had said that, right?
"very good, that is correct." The girl received an approving nod.

Does anyone want to add anything else
Juliet snapped out of it, and raised her hand to answer as well. "Does it vanish into thin air?" yup, she didn't know how this banishing charm works on the process. "Where does it exactly banish to?" because if it banished into thin air then that would mean it would be gone forever, right? "And how do you bring it back?" curious Slytherin asked. With the use of Accio, yes? Some. Didn't accio have a certain rules as well?
Miss Kim hadn't been reading had she? "No the object doesn't just vanish into thin air, because we are not vanishing the object inwhich we'd need to somehow disintegrate the object, what we're going is banishing it." And just to be safe she turned to the board and began writing.
Quote:
Vanish : to pass completely from existence
Banish: to drive out or remove from a home or place of usual resort or continuance
"You banish an object to a desired location and you bring it back using accio. But that depends on the object you have banished and where re the distance you have banished it to."

There was some sort of web on his hair, and gestured him to remove it.
The boy smirked as Bellaire closed the door shut, and took his seat. He took out his wand from his arm and sat back as he eyed the writings on the board. So today they’re learning how to banish things. “Can I banish irritating people?” Smirk. Mordred crossed his arms and listened to Bellaire’s explanation. “Depulso. Got it.” And was there anything to add? As usual, Kurumi’s hand was up in the air and explained the charm further. Seriously, this kid should stand as the professors’ substitute teacher when they don’t feel like teaching.
Mhm.
Hand raised, “Aside from aim, I believe the Banishing Charm needs great concentration as well.” Well, that pretty much applies to any spell.
"Yes concentration and aim is very important when casting the banishing charm."

Someone asked if banished objects go into nonbeing...well..no? Elliot raised her hand, deciding to add a comment here. "Banished objects wouldn't go into nonbeing, would they, though, because it's the counter-charm to the summoning charm, which is pulling an object already in being TO you..this would just be banishing them to wherever you want...right?" she asked, looking at Bellaire with wide eyes. She thought she sounded right...
Banished objects were not the same things as vanished objects...right?!
"Very very good. Exactly there is no going into non-being with the BANISHING charm. You are sending an object away from you."

"That is correct." As was said before.
She walked back to the front of the class and turned to look at them. "Today we will be banishing balls to baskets. I'll like you all to once again step out of your desks and come to the front."
She gave them time to do so and once they did she banished the desk and chairs to the back of the class. Demonstration number one. Now there was a large enough space in the class for everyone to be able to practice the charm.
"The wand motion is very simple. All you need to do is point your wand at the object you are banishing...like I just did with the desks and chairs."
With another flick of her wand the container of brightly coloured balls appeared at the front of the class and so did many different baskets. The Charms professor got to work lining the wall with the basket and placing the ball container a few feet away from. "The aim is to banish the ball into a basket...like so."
She demonstrated causing a purple ball to fly into a basket.
"If you are clear on the instructions you may begin. If not feel free to ask questions."

And that was why the boy still had trouble with it. He would be thankful for the review.
The Ravenclaw stood and walked to the front when asked, then vaguely watched as the desks and chairs went flying behind him. After the brief demonstration, Ethan pointed his wand at an orange ball, focused on the basket behind it, and muttered, "Depulso." Eh.. At least he managed to make the ball roll to the basket.. but it didn't achieve the height it needed to get it inside. Just as he thought.. he needed more practice. Though the rolling ball did give him an idea.. the banishing charm would make that game of golf he had been playing a whole lot easier.

Kat smirked once Bellaire had given her a nod... A sign for good. She was correct, right? Another reason why she likes this class was because she had quite ease in it. She didn't have to think too hard just to know the answer. It seemed like it just flows from within. Deep words.
Kat took her wand out and positioned herself to do the Banishing Charm. "Depulso," she said. But to her dismay, the ball flew a bit and then dropped beside the basket. Oh for Merlin's sake. Again, again. But...
Alright, they were going to banish that ball into that basket. But how? Yeah, she knew that they just had to point at it. But... how do they exactly get to banish the ball into its destination? "Uhmm, Professor," Kat said as she approached Bellaire. "How do we exactly let the ball fly into the basket? Do we have to just point it at the ball and it just goes to the basket? Or do we have to focus on the place you'd like the ball to go to?"
Dear Bellaire, I hope you understood that.

Sarah was horrified with the teacher''s language. Could the teacher being a lady say it a bit more politely... They were meant to be someone you look up to and one Sarah would look up to would be one who does not befowl their mouth with such language. Perhaps the teacher could have said 'relieve himself' or even 'urinate'.
She shrugged as she said the incantation. "Depulso,Depulso,Depulso" That was good. No bumps to iron out. The wand movement would be easy so there was no need to practice that first. It was just a point.

Hannah listened to all of the questions and answers. She made notes because she knew that she would need all the help she could get. They were getting up again? So soon?
Sigh. She got out of her seat and walked to the front of the room. She watched as the professor cleared out the chairs. She was ready to practice because she had a feeling that she would not be getting this on the first try.
Here goes nothing. She tried to concentrate on the ball going into the basket but she found herself thinking of many other things. She was dumb to even let those things have a place in her mind but she couldn't help it. She needed help. Concentrate Hannah! Mind back on the ball she said "Depulso." Nothing happened...nothing at all. She didn't even think the ball had twitched or anything. Merlin this was going to be a long class if she didn't get her head in the game and fast!

With no further questions, Kurumi was about to set to practicing the charm when something DID catch her attention. Boggarts? Not being a physical being?! Wait...they were a shape shifting creature - key word being shape. They HAD to have a physical shape in order to be able to do so. Sure, no one knew that the creature looked like in its natural form, the one before it took on the shape of a person's greatest fear, but that didn't mean they didn't have a physical form.
Not to mention that Sierra's question was in regards to a spell that didn't repel or banish boggarts anyway...it was a spell that forced it to change its shape that would then make the caster laugh and therefore defeat the creature. Not banish it. So...really...the question wasn't really relevant.
Which was why Kurumi had sort of stopped her movement towards the balls and was just watching for a moment, wondering if she should ask a question or say something - she was somehow mildly offended on behalf of boggarts.
Uber weird Gryffindor over here. Don't mind us.
Trying to ignore her internal grumbling, Kurumi turned her attention back to the balls and then allowed her eyes to drift towards a basket over in the corner. Well, at least they weren't jumping chocolate frogs...balls shouldn't be that bad...unless they started bouncing around like crazy and smacking people in the face...
Wand out, Kurumi pointed it at one of the red balls and then eyed a basket over to her right. Eyes back on the red ball, Kurumi pointed her wand with a little more enthusiasm. "Depulso." The red ball shot like a bottle rocket out of the basket and across the room and right into the basket she had been eyeing earlier.
Yep. Much easier than chocolate frogs. Selina's nose would be safe.

Belle took some notes on the banishing charm. Belle heard the task and she got out her seat. She went up to the front of the room and was ready to do the task. She saw all the balls in a line.
Belle knew she had to use depulso. She had to flick the ball into the basket. Belle concentrated on the ball. Then she said, "Depulso!" she aimed her wand at the object. Then she flicked it into the basket. She almost got it in! It touched the rim of the basket and bounced off. Grrr she was so close! XD.
Sophie jumped up from the chair and walked up to where professor Bellaire had told them to go. She loved it when they were straight to the point. Practice! Now! WOOP! Her wand was already at the ready even before the desks and charis were pushed back. Sophie smiled at the sight, imagining the day when she'd be able to produce such powerful spells.
She hoped that day would come SOON!
Okay! Okay! Their turn already?? Ooohhhh, the balls were so pretty! Professor Bellaire did have good taste! The badger smiled at the brightly coloured balls while the older witch continued to give instructions. Noope, no questions or anything!!! They could START! YES!
Sophie quickly pointed her wand at the first ball she saw, a bright orange one. "Depulso!" She said a bit overenthusiastically, making it seem like it was a canon ball shooting all the way to the other side of the room.
Woops. Her bad! Grin!
At least she had gotten the spell right. Sort of. Come ON, she had done that before! All she needed now was to control her enthusiasm. RIGHT, she could do it! She shook her hands a bit, took a slightly deep breath and closed her eyes. Calm doown, Sophie! It won't work correctly if you keep acting like that.
OKAY! Teehee!
The third year eyed a green ball this time. She was going to get it! Yep! FOCUS! Basket. Okay! "Depulso." Sophie said, pointing her wand at the aimed ball, not taking her eyes off it. The bright green object flew straight into one of the baskets.
GRIN!BEAM!
Once again, Sophie resisted the urge to flail and skip around. It was Charms, but professor Bellaire was strick; she needed to behave.
BEAM! BEAM! BEAM!

Sarah went over to a ball container. She reached in and drew out a green ball and examined the ball and her gaze shifted to the target. Back and forth of eyeballs movved she needed good aim you see! Then she took out her wand and aimed for the bottom of basket. "Depulso" she said and the ball whizzed away and... hit the basket which scampered away. Oh dear... her aim was not that good then. She put the basket back in its place and retrieved the ball.
She cleared her head and went again. This time she decided to aim just above the basket, at the wall behind it and let it bounce back into the basket. She went down on the floor, andcocked her head up at the target as well as wand as a sniper would do. There was a good view from down here.
"Depulso" she said. The ball flew into the air and just as Sarah had planned it hit the wall behind and bounced into the basket.
Sarah grinned a mischievous grin as she go up from the cold floor and dusted herself off. That was fun. She had one ball in the basket now!

"Very good Mr.Vanderbuilt, it will do you all well to take notes of that." She eyed the rest of her class.
"After..." Oi, she shook her head..." you banish an object it goes where you send it so naturally a lot of concentration is needed."
"Nice to see you reading..class you may also take note of that as well." The older students were on fire today. Very good, it made a job a bit easier.
"very good, that is correct." The girl received an approving nod.
Miss Kim hadn't been reading had she? "No the object doesn't just vanish into thin air, because we are not vanishing the object inwhich we'd need to somehow disintegrate the object, what we're going is banishing it." And just to be safe she turned to the board and began writing.
"You banish an object to a desired location and you bring it back using accio. But that depends on the object you have banished and where re the distance you have banished it to."
"You can but I'm afraid you wouldn't be able to banish them very far." And also, just because she expected better from him she continued.." I don't expect you to try banishing anyone Theo."
"Once again, we are not vanishing objects we are banishing them." She tapped the board loudly. Focus.
"You can banish just about anything.."
"Yes concentration and aim is very important when casting the banishing charm."
"There should be nothing nasty about the banishing charm if you do it properly. And everyone here will do it properly."
"Very very good. Exactly there is no going into non-being with the BANISHING charm. You are sending an object away from you."
"No, the charm simply will not work. It will be like telling a dog to sit when you have not taught him the command to do so. He will simply stare at you and if he's a good dog he'll pee on you for being silly."
"Good answer. That is correct. It's nice to see students reading and revising." Especially before coming to her class.
Sophia walked down the middle isle so she could be closer to everyone and because she figured she was mostly finished giving notes manually for the moment, but it was a good thing she did too because if she hadn't she wouldn't have noticed the spider webb in the boy's hair. Hmmm.
"Your answer is correct but get out and clean yourself and your hair up."
"A boggart isn't exactly an object is it? It's not a physical being so the depulso charm would not work on a boggart because there is technically nothing there to place the charm on to manipulate. Do you understand?"
Hmmm..
"Like most spells the limitations would depend on the caster." She felt like she said this a lot but it was true. "But I think once you have a clear idea and image of where you are banishing the item to then the distance shouldn't matter as much." But it still was a factor in casting the charm.
"That is correct." As was said before.
She walked back to the front of the class and turned to look at them. "Today we will be banishing balls to baskets. I'll like you all to once again step out of your desks and come to the front."

Minerva listened to the professor answer the questions and discuss what was going to happen next. She stood up and went to the front of the room. Watching the desks move and then the balls appear she tried to pay close attention. She didn't want to mess anything up from lack of focus. Watching the professor demonstrate she felt a little at ease, this didn't seem like to hard of a task. She had accio down pretty well, so why wouldn't this one just be as easy.
Stepping out to some orange balls she looked at the basket. Not wanting to get the word wrong she said it in her head a few times. Once she was ready she pulled her wand up and pointed it to the ball. Just as she said "Depulso." Ethan caught her eye and her focus on the basket had turned. Her wand flicked his way and the ball went towards him bumping him in the leg. She felt herself turn red instantly and she couldn't help but giggle a bit, "I'm sorry Ethan, something must have distracted me." you of course, she thought to her self as she walked over and retrieved the miss placed ball.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Finally, practical time. Daichi stood up from his chair and followed his fellow students to the front of the classroom. When he found a good spot to stand, he heard scraping noises behind him and when he turned back to look he found out that all the tables and chairs had been pushed aside.
"Cool" he whispered before his eyes landed back to the Professor as she demonstrated what to do. It seemed like an easy spell and also fun!
He grabbed his phoenix feather wand and pointed it at one of the balls. "Depulso!" he said, thinking that like with every spell he'd done so far he would fail. BOOOY was he WROOONG!
Without a second try the ball shoots through the room and hit the wall instead of the basket. He let out the breath he was holding and stared with wide open eyes. This was amazing! The first time since...never... that he had gotten the spell right at the first tryyy~!
Even though it was not as controlled and good as it was supposed to be but he was going to work on that right now.

Awar positioned herself across from the basket and the ball. She pointed her wand at the ball, "Depulso!" The ball flew towards the basket....and bounced of the side.
She sighed and re-positioned herself again. She pointed her wand, "Depulso!" The ball flew towards the basket...and bounced of the side AGAIN. She sighed, harshly this time, frustrated.
She positioned herself again, placing her feet firmly on the ground. She pursed her lips and pointed her want at the ball. "Depulso!" She said sternly. The ball banished itself into the basket. Success! She punched her fist into the air dramatically.

Right. She nodded...if course she was very very good..hehe, she was ELLIOT MORGANZO for merlin's sake! And a Ravenclaw, at that! She stood up as Professore Bellaire instructed them...she was kind of anxious to try it out, too. She wanted to see if it was REALLY that much harder than the accio spell..hmm...and Elliot quite enjoyed a challenge.
She stood next to Hannah, eyeing her as she tried...she was twirling her own wand in her hand...hehe, Hannah didn't get it...she smirked to herself. "No no NO, Hannah, dear," she said as she rolled her eyes. Ahem. Let Elliot show you have to do it, sweetheart!
AHEEMMM.
"Depulso!" she cried, and to her GLEE, the ball started going THAT A WAAAAY towards the basket...but about halfway through..it stopped...UGH. Her smirk evaporated...and she glared at Hannah...YOU BETTER NOT LAUGH, LCOKWOOD!
And then, to make her even MORE irritated...SOAPY GOT IT BEFORE SHE DID! UGH! Elliot grumbled darkly under her breath as she went to retrieve the STUPID! ball from across the room...guurrr. Sophie...of all people to get it before she did...SOPHIE!

Lex felt her cheeks going warmer. "Uhh..sorry Professor, it won't happen again for sure." Since when was it a rule to raise your hand? Merlin, you'd swear these Professors thought this stuff up on the spot or something!
She sat eagerly bouncing in her seat; not in the least bit dejected by the Professor's reprimand. This was charms which meant she would be learning spells which meant she would be happy. Not even a strict Professor could bring her mood down! Lex listened attentively to the activity they would be doing. In her head she could already see herself pulling it off without a problem...so nice when a girl could lie to herself to make herself feel better.
When Alexa was given the go ahead she hopped up from her seat and made her way to the front with everyone else. She gasped in awe when all the chairs and desks moved to the back. That. Was. Awesome. She wanted to learn that but at the moment they were learning something else. Lex practically bounced through the whole demonstration, itching for it to be her turn and once the Professor said it was okay she scanned the room for the perfect ball.
Ooo...a blue one.
Lex aimed her wand at it but before casting, reminded herself that she would need the right amount of intent to get it to work. She wasn't in the mood for her spell casting to prove defective. Right... "Depulso." Nothing. Hmmm. She tried concentrating a bit harder. "Depulso!"
Her eyes widen and she took a step back when she saw the ball shoot up and land in a basket.
Whoa...wasn't that like her first try though? Her spells NEVER worked on the first try. That was like some unspoken wand rule that her wand seemed to follow quite religiously.
Could she try again?
