Welcome back to the charms classroom. Those of you who are returning students will remember the dark well polished furniture and the stone floor that is so clean you can almost see yourself in them. Professor Bellaire is waiting at the front of her classroom.
IC rules: 1.Ensure that your uniform is immaculate
2.Come in quietly
3.Stand by your desk (do not sit until she tells you to do so)
4.Keep the chit chat to a minimum and if you can't control yourself, don't speak.

Charms, eh?
Dylan lugged his bag up to the Charms classroom, sore and generally tired of walking. Quidditch practices were kicking his butt...All he wanted to do was sleep...or go into a coma. Either one would have worked perfectly fine for him.
...Stepping into the classroom, he eyed everyone already present for a moment before finding his own. Bag down. Remains standing...Nearly falling over.
"Hello, Professor Bellaire." His tone spoke of his exhaustion.
Can I have a pardon for this class, please? DIES.

Time for another Charms lesson. Kendall actually was rather excited, especially since it appeared to be taking place in the classroom instead of the Irie Room. Maybe they wouldn't be battling any hurricanes this time around. Hopefully they wouldn't be. She walked into the classroom excitedly, in either case, before skidding slightly as she slipped on the floor. Eeeeep!, she thought, quickly regaining her balance and carefully looking for a seat. Sitting would be good. Not moving. She eyed the floor again as she deliberately placed her feet on the way to an open desk near Vickers, waving slightly to Beezus as she passed her friend. She knew better than to say too much in here. It probably would echo in all the quietness, and then Professor Bellaire would pounce. She was not planning on losing any points today.
Speaking of Professor Bellaire, she looked up once she'd dropped her bag on the seat of the desk. That way she wouldn't be tempted to sit un til allowed. Locating the professor, she straightened her uniform a tiny bit before smiling. "Hello Professor Bellaire!," she said, silently wondering what the lesson was going to be. She didn't think that the extreme cleanliness would be damaged, so no hurricanes. Or tornadoes, or anything that would make everything dirty. Unless they were learning cleaning charms, which would not be very fun. Even braving the storm was more fun than cleaning.

Sierra stepped into the Charms classroom, automatically scanning the area for a seat. Oh. Wait. Everyone was standing, and...they weren't allowed to take a seat, were they? Okay, then. She glanced down and checked her uniform. Yup. Everything was just as it should be. Slytherin pride, for the win. She edged past the others en route to her desk, and upon getting there, she just stood.
Okay, this was just awkward. Why were still standing anyway?
Even still, here she was, standing and waiting to be ordered to sit. Now she just felt like a house elf.

After straightening her skirt, she then stepped inside the classroom. It was so quiet inside..the kind of almost suffocating silence. But a peaceful classroom would be more preferable than a storm-stricken room, no?
Before proceeding to find a seat, she eyed the floor first. Yep, she was definitely looking at herself. Was it all that Professor Bellaire did? Scrub the floor of her classroom that it was so shiny the Ravenclaw actually thought she'd slip anytime soon. "Professor Bellaire, hello." she greeted, giving the woman a small smile as she passed by her.
Now, where to hmm? A quick scan of the classroom and someone caught her attention. Mordred was there..at the back. She still needed to thank him properly. Without so much thinking, Beezus immediately scuttled off to where the Slytherin was and claimed a seat in front of him. "Hi Dred." she muttered in a low voice, moving to stand behind the desk that she'd picked for herself.

He patted down his robe to check for any unwanted dirt that may have clung to him on his way to Charms.
He didn't look immaculate, but he could certainly pass for decent enough to attend Bellaire's class.
Oakey stepped in and looked around. for any open seat to stand by. He spotted one in the back and hurried over to claim it. When he entered he placed his things on top of the desk and stood completely still until he heard some one whisper Dread. Looking forward he spotted Beezus in front of him and just had to ask. "What's Dreadful? I'm perfectly fine" He realized then that Beezus wasn't speaking with him and followed her gaze to the person beside him..."Mordy!" Oakey said in a loud whisper.
Today was indeed going slow. Mordred crossed his arms as he looked outside the window and day-dreamed about the dream he had for their Potions home work. It wasn’t entirely nasty, but it did hold a lot of realization for the boy. That Elixir did wonders. He snapped back to reality and turned his head sharply to the person who called him ‘Dred’. Blink. “Hello.” Mordred replied as he stared back at the brown-haired girl in front of him. He wanted to ask about the rest of Beezus' Christmas break, and hopefully she was doing okay. That St. Mungo’s visit was horrible.
Applehead called him ‘Dred’, and this person next to him is trying to creep him out with a loud whisper. “Ooooaaaaakeeey.” Mordred mimicked his loud whisper and smiled at him. “Something’s...sticking out of your head.” The boy pointed at Oakey’s head gesturing him to take it out right away.

As Eliza stepped into the classroom, she found herself in a very normal, albeit extremely polished room. No trees, no sky, no flesh destroying sand... She loved the outdoors, but was in no mood for another onslaught of natural disaster.
She'd learned last lesson that Professor Bellaire was a bit of a neat freak, so she checked her uniform for any "troublesome" effects. Satisfied, she walked towards her desk and gave a sing-song "Hello Professor Bellaire!"
She bobbled from one leg to the other, shifting her hips in an energetic way while she waiting for the lesson to start. I wonder what would happen if I came in with threads and dust all over me, she thought. Oo and cobwebs in my hair. Bet she'd love that. Not that Eliza was looking to upset her professor, but she did think it would be sort of funny to watch someone freak out over it.

Walking into the Charms classroom, Emmanuelle peeked at the board, then down at her uniform. Everything was in order, except for her tie, which she quickly straightened. There, all better. "Hello, professor," she said, before finding herself a seat, shoving her bag under the chair, and standing straight up beside the desk. In her opinion, it was silly that the professor made them do this, but those were the rules....

As she scanned the room for a seat one thing stood out to her...Everyone was standing...Why were they standing, were they not allowed to take a seat? Okay, then. She glanced down and checked her uniform. Yup, everything was just as it should be. All Ravenclawyy...Just as it should be, her brothers spell had finally wore off on it! She walked past the others that were standing en route to her desk, and upon getting there, instead of immediatly sitting down she just stood. It was weird not to be sitting already. Noticing she hadn't said Hello to the Professor she said, "Hello, Professor Bellaire."

Professor Bellaire inspected each student as they entered the classroom and nodded at those who had passed her inspection and also returned their good days and 'how are you' with a fine thank you. Without the influence of the Irie Room she was feeling far less relaxed and chilled and was back in the business no nonsense mood that was common to her.
Good she liked it this way. The woman turned and looked at the clock on the wall then pointed her wand at the door slamming it shut. Class was starting now, those who were late had better stay outside. Anyone who dared to open the door would have a whole lot of explaining to do.
"Good morning class." She once again gave everyone a once over and feeling satisfied she continued. "You may all take a seat class starts now. You all are familiar with the classroom rules, no talking while I'm talking...no talking in general unless it has something to do with the class."
She turned to the board and began writing...

They should have all read that chapter and been familiar with it but anyways...
"Today our focus will be on the banishing charm. The incantation for the banishing charm is Depulso. The word Depulso comes from the latin word depulsio which means to drive away." She wrote that down on the board too. After much reflection she realized that maybe in order to get everyone to learn she had to spoon feed knowledge to them all...word for word. Man it took a whole lot of getting used to.
"Does anyone want to add anything else, maybe you've read something else or maybe you just have a question. Now is the time to ask it."

Lex watched the Professor close the door. It seemed a lot of Professors liked doing that. It just had this thing about it. Like it was daring you to be late but of course Alexa had no intention of being late for this woman's class ever so she paid no attention to what she thought the closed door might have been saying. No matter what, it wasn't referring to her.
No talking?
Weird...but okay...she could handle that...sort of...pssh, no big deal. She could stop talking at any point--she didn't have a problem. Right, so while she didn't talk she took a seat and began scribbling the notes onto her parchment.

Once her notes were taken her attention turned to the Professor again as she began to explain the lesson ahead. Banishing...? This could be quite useful to her so naturally she had a question. "Is this spell limited to certain things or can we make anything go away?" Like faaaaar away.

He slipped quietly into his seat and drew his parchment when the class begun. Right the basic principle of Charms and its difference to Transfiguration. He noted down the Professor's explanation to Depulso then raised his hand to add this "Professor, with Depulso one needs to have a really good aim at the item being banished, because unlike the Accio spell that will only summon the item mentioned, Depulso will move anything that the wand is aimed at."

Sitting down in her seat once instructed to do so, Kurumi pulled out some parchment and her quill from her bag and began to write down the usual when her quill slipped and her eyes widened. The Banishing Charm? They were going to practice the Banishing Charm?!
Her stomach tied in knots and she glanced nervously around the room for Selina. Last lesson that that spell had been in practice had been when Professor Descoteaux had taught and had unleashed a horde of chocolate frogs that they had to banish into boxes....and Kurumi had broken Selina's nose. She had already done that this term in Astronomy thanks to a bottle rocket.
There weren't going to be any chocolate frogs this lesson, right? Kurumi would ask, but Professor Bellaire would have no idea what she was talking about.
Setting her quill down, Kurumi raised her hand to offer up a little factoid since she didn't really have any questions. "I've read that the Banishing Charm is more difficult than the Summoning Charm because you are sort of doing two things at once. With the Summoning Charm you are changing the nature of the item to move to you. With the Banishing Charm you are not only changing the nature of the object to make it move, but you are also guiding it to a desired location, such as in a box or closet." Which is why you needed to have careful aim like Vickers had just said.

Thank Merlin they could sit down. Kat's legs were aching while waiting for the other students to get in. The sound of that slamming door was a good sign to Kat. Class has started... which means YOU MAY SIT. Kat sat down on her chair and relaxed. She stretched her feet for a while. Wiiiiiiiiiiw. Then she started listening to Bellair.
Oooohh. The banishing charm? It wasn't that interesting, really. At least they had a little knowledge that it doesn't make anything vanish, just banish. Well... that's what people should get in mind.
Listening to the responses of other students, Kat had to add some... even the tiniest piece of information would help. "In addition to Kurumi's answer, the Banishing Charm is the countercharm to the Summoning Charm which is Accio." Nobody had said that, right?

Daichi was startled when he suddenly heard the door closed shut, his eyes went to the place and he knew that class was starting. But even better...he could sit! He waited for the right timing that the Professor said that they could sit down and with a sigh he did so.
Banishing charm. He had read that when he was studying for his OWLS in the Library. He raised his hand even before the Professor was done talking, thinking the question was going to be what the Banishing Charm was. He was wrong though and with a slightly flushed face he lowered his arm again when the Professor continued to explain what it was.
He listened intently to his fellow students as they came with questions and tried to think of one himself.
..........
He couldn't think of anything so he decided to wait and write the notes down. For future help.

Banishing charm..... Depulso...
Everyone in this room has probably heard of it. Well.... she has and it's one of the most basic spells to learn. She does agree to some of the answers that people say. Lovely Vickers did point out about Depulso VS Accio. Smile. SOOOOOO......
Does anyone want to add anything else
Juliet snapped out of it, and raised her hand to answer as well. "Does it vanish into thin air?" yup, she didn't know how this banishing charm works on the process. "Where does it exactly banish to?" because if it banished into thin air then that would mean it would be gone forever, right? "And how do you bring it back?" curious Slytherin asked. With the use of Accio, yes? Some. Didn't accio have a certain rules as well?

She listened intently to everything the professor was saying and jotted down some notes. She knew that she would be needing them later. So far she didn't have any questions. Of course that probably wouldn't last long once they got started. She had not been happy with her spellwork lately. She wasn't going to stress herself out about it. She would get it and if not there was always Elliot.
She made mental notes of the questions that everybody else asked incase she needed any of the info in the future!

Theodore was like a grinning idiot. He loved this class. He smiled at the friends that had joined him. Blue, Ella and Sophie. But no time for chattering, it was lesson time. Depulso. He'd never actually heard of it before, but it sounded quite interesting. And useful, more importantly...
"Professor, can it banish people away?" He asked, lowering his raised hand as he finished. It was a serious question. Think of all the Ravenclaws he could vanquish with this spell?!

Belle looked at the charms definition on the board and wrote it down in her notebook. Then she heard they will be learning Depulso. Hmmm the banishing charm? That sounded very cool to learn. Belle was going to like this lesson.
"Professor i have heard that vanished objects disappear into nonbeing, which is to say, everything. Would that be the same for banished objects?"
Nigel began to wonder what can you use depulso for. It is for certain things or anything.
"Professor, can you banish anything with depulso?"
He also wondered where the thing went wen they got banished. But he heard Blue ask that question. It would be awesome if the items went to a parallel universe were all banished thing go. But that is only a dream.

The boy’s attention went from Oakey’s head to another familiar girl who moved quickly past the both of them. What in Merlin’s stinky armpits was that? That wasn’t very “Sophie” at all, walking past them without even acknowledging Oakey. “What’s her problem?” Mordred thought as he frowned and watched Sophie join Ella, Theo and Blue up front. “Of course. THIS is Charms class. She won’t miss it for the world.” Mordred then shifted his attention back to Oakey and pointed at his head again. There was some sort of web on his hair, and gestured him to remove it.
The boy smirked as Bellaire closed the door shut, and took his seat. He took out his wand from his arm and sat back as he eyed the writings on the board. So today they’re learning how to banish things. “Can I banish irritating people?” Smirk. Mordred crossed his arms and listened to Bellaire’s explanation. “Depulso. Got it.” And was there anything to add? As usual, Kurumi’s hand was up in the air and explained the charm further. Seriously, this kid should stand as the professors’ substitute teacher when they don’t feel like teaching.
Mhm.
Hand raised, “Aside from aim, I believe the Banishing Charm needs great concentration as well.” Well, that pretty much applies to any spell.

Laura looked at the Professor and raised her hand. "Professor isn't this spell a bit nasty, I mean if it goes wrong it can affect you?" Laura was sure she had read that up somewhere but where she couldn't remembered all she wanted to know was that it was safe to use mainly.
The banishing charm, ehh? Sounded difficult. And fun. Challenges were fun...she smirked as she took down notes from everyone...Merlin, people were feeling smart today, hmm? Charms class was usually everyone's favorite, though, so she decided people were just knowledgable about it...
Someone asked if banished objects go into nonbeing...well..no? Elliot raised her hand, deciding to add a comment here. "Banished objects wouldn't go into nonbeing, would they, though, because it's the counter-charm to the summoning charm, which is pulling an object already in being TO you..this would just be banishing them to wherever you want...right?" she asked, looking at Bellaire with wide eyes. She thought she sounded right...
Banished objects were not the same things as vanished objects...right?!
