They were nearing the cursed bracelet...Dylan could feel the magic shifting in the space around him...It felt like something was close, anyway. Whatever it was, they were ready. Ready to complete the task and be out of here.

...As they turned the corner, it opened up into a small clearing with a equally small pedestal. Laying on top of it was the bracelet they'd been challenged to find. One thing about it, though...It looked completely ordinary. Nothing special about it.

"Come on. Let's get to work." Dylan jogged up to it, eyeing the set up for a moment, before leveling his wand on the piece of jewelry. "Arithmos Revelio!" In an instant, several numbers appeared over the bracelet...and it suddenly made sense. So, THAT's what Professor Hadley meant by numbers...

Hmph.

There had been some break down with the numbers earlier in the lesson...Dylan vaguely remembered....11...059...59...59? After "Diffindo!ing," them apart in that sequel...He carried on, fully focused...Flagrante Curse, right? Snort.

First things, first..."Impervious." The Slytherin Captain waved his wand, felling more confident in spell-casting after that Patronus. This spell was the only one he could think to use on something hot...Ooooh. Unless they used the freezing charm?...OR...maybe "Protego."

What next?

WHAT WAS GOING ON?

There was the bracelet, but obviously, it was cursed, so NO TOUCHING, Kinsley. But he didn't know what to do, so he just copied Dylan.. "P-PROTEGO!" But it didn't WORK. Would Aguamenti do anything?

"Protego." ...... "PROTEGO. I don't think it worked." It did, though, so all good.

Was it okay to touch it now? After ALL of those spells that Dylan had just done?

Theodore gave him a warning look, then reached his hand out. So close... so close...

"Captain, I am going to touch it......"

Closer............ "Now." And tap, tap, tap.

What was this bracelet here fooooooor? Did this mean that she was near to the end? HOPEFULLY it did. Then she'd be freeeeeeeeee! YAYAYAYAY! Free from this miserable and horrible place. She almost felt like singing! But she wouldn't. Cos that would be a stupid thing to do in this scary maze.

BEAM.

Bliss carefully approached the bracelet, prepared for anything. Like a demon dog magically jumping out of it and eating her. Even that. She cast her mind back to earlier, she needed to do some sort of incantation, right?

It was...it was...what was it? Bliss racked her brain and then came up with an answer. Arithmos Revelio! That HAD to be it. Bliss took out her wand once again and pointed it at the now seemingly harmless bracelet. "Arithmos Revelio" she said clearly and waited.

Then after only a few seconds of waiting, something appeared, numbers.

What did they MEAN?

Something didn't seem quite right, and then it hit Sierra. She forgot the blasted spell!

She moved her wand down...and then up...and then flicked toward the bracelet. "Arithmos Revelio!" she said. The same numbers appeared again. Hmm...was she starting to be able to do verbal incantations?! Awesome! She moved her wand down...and then up...and then flicked it toward the bracelet. She held her breath while she waited, until finally, a set of numbers appeared above the bracelet.

SCORE!

Again, she tapped her wand in a few places and broke the numbers up into parts.

11 059 59 59
Now she began to check the work she'd done before.

11 = I think this could mean that the first person to touch the bracelet will be the leader of sorts and the one to do all the decision-making. It could also mean that in the beginning, you have to decide for yourself the correct way to go about things.

059 = I think this could mean that the one the curse effects will experience some sort of change about themselves, such as loss or gain of strength or a change in appearance. Definitely a loss, since the 0 pulls in a decay.

59 = I think this definitely backs up what I said above--the curse is activated through physical touch.

59 = I think this spells reaches a person through touch and effects things such as their appearance (looks, anatomy, ability to move about, body strength, etc.).

and this marks the official end to the final; posts AFTER this will not be counted...

Josephina had been listening for any signs of distress, but for the most part the students seemed to be working their way through it. Finally, a glance at her wristwatch and she realized their time was up. With the same ease that she used to create the maze, the maze and all the obstacles dissipated to reveal a classroom once more, exposing any students that did not finish and dismiss themselves.

"Good work and to those not graduating, see you next term! To those graduating, however, good luck!" Josephina said, watching the students leave.

*was totally waiting for you to post as to whether or not it worked*

........and Kurumi's hands grasped around the bracelet. She could still feel some heat radiating from the metal, but it was by no means the heat that came with the initial curse. And then the maze was gone and the classroom had returned, leaving the Gryffindor with the surreal feeling of conclusion.

Her attention went towards Professor Hadley as class was dismissed and her violet eyes glanced down at the bracelet in her hand. Did she give this back? Probably, right? Kurumi left the bracelet on the desk and gathered up her things before walking up to Professor Hadley and offering her a small smile. "Thank you, for teaching me all these years," she said, biting down on her lower lip subconsciously. Not yet, it was too early for all that. Save it for the feast. "I don't think curse breaking is for me, but I do plan on continuing Arithmancy as an elective at university next year."

Kurumi really didn't want to say anything more for now. That would come in the letter. So, with one more smile and a bow...Kurumi made her way out of the classroom.

Minerva heard Professor Hadley and stopped with the bracelet. She let out of a disappointed sigh, not being able to break it was not good enough for her, but she would have to deal for the time being. Maybe find some books this summer to read about curse breaking. Making a mental note to look when she was in DA next, she walked and gathered her things.

Turning to head out of class she stopped in front of Professor Hadley, "Thanks for the interesting lesson professor and the unique activity. I think my heart is still racing from the maze." She gave a small smile hoping no one would really know that she was terrified of clowns. Pulling her bag over her shoulder more she turned to head out of the room.
