As you walk into the classroom, you notice that everything is exactly where it should be. The desks are in their perfect rows, the large one belonging to Professor Magnus is situated at the back of the room, covered still in it's usual piles of papers. The blackboard is off to the side and has the following written on it:

Gideon had been listening to all the reasons and discussions on the exceptions to transfiguration's influences. He just couldn't seem to speak up himself, having ideas but not sure how to express them, at least the ones that weren't duplicated by his classmates anyway. So the sixth year meerly played close attention to what was being said and took notes along the way so he had stuff for further thoughts on the subject.
And then they moved on to the next portion of the lesson, the discusion on everyone's favorite spell. That was going to be another decision to struggle over before marking it up on the board at the front of the room. The first thought that came to mind was the magic of animangi but that wasn't any one spell but a whole discipline and long study so that was out. When he finally had chose one, Gideon walked up to the board to write it down. And once he was done, he returned to his seat.

Flicking her wand at the board, Isabelle erased the first lot of writing, and re-wrote the second part. Leaving enough space for the kids to write their names etc.
"Thank you all for your input in that discussion, I hope you all got something from it. Information on the reasons why they're exceptions at the very least. But now I'd like to move on to another discussion, a more light hearted one I hope."
Isabelle didn't move from her seated position on her desk, instead she just pointed at the board using her wand as a guide. "What I'd like you all to do is come up here and fill in the information I've asked for - with just a one word, or one sentence reason please. Then we can expand on it all in a jiffy."
OOC: Last post for the night. Please have your character come up and fill it in. PLEASE QUOTE THE BOARD DETAILS FROM THE LAST PERSON TO POST (above you). THAT WAY ALL THE NAMES WILL BE ON THE LIST IN EACH QUOTE - RATHER THAN JUST INDIVIDUAL NAMES IN EACH POST. Thank you. We'll move on to the discussion tomorrow.
The Professor agrees with him? The Ravenclaw smiled back genuinely. Yup that just made his day.
But it was back to that lesson and the next task-- he scribbled the items down on his parchment and paused for a moment... Does the Professor mean any spell? Even when its more a charm than a transfiguration spell? He shrugged for a moment then scribbled his answers on the blanks. She did say favorite spell...

They had to go up to the blackboard?! Delilah's eyes widened. But she didn't want to do that! She'd have to think on the spot - especially as she didn't actually have a favourite spell... Or, not one that she could name right now.
She watched people get up and go to the blackboard one by one, before finally getting up and going to the front of the classroom herself. She picked the chalk up with her left hand, then began to write; being careful not to smudge anyone else's writing...

Kurumi had remained silent during the debate, not really feeling like jumping in anywhere in particular, not that the sixth year did not have thoughts on the matter. The issue was that most of her arguments went back to morality and ethics, and one could hardly call that a good debate. At least Kurumi didn't consider it to be. Labeling something as "wrong" was just a wishy washy way of saying you didn't have solid facts to back things up. So, Kurumi opted to just take careful notes and listen.
When it came time to write their favorite spell on the board, Kurumi hesitated for a moment as she thought. Was Professor Magnus using the term spell loosely, or was she using it for a reason? After all, this was Transfiguration and many spells that came to mind thanks to a certain Charms assignment were, in fact, charms - a very different sort of branch of magic. So, the Gryffindor remained in her seat for a moment as she thought and watched others write their spells on the board. Perhaps she was over thinking things, but eventually Kurumi narrowed things down to a spell that she had been attempting in her spare time.

Obviously the professor did NOT know Elliot very well. No, the thirteen year old was developed enough to know that she DID NOT want everyone to be equal. it was just the way she had been raised...nothing against anybody, really...*cough*.
She thought about her favorite spell for a long time...she had many. Silencio, Accio...hmmm. She thought about Silencio, the charm she had written about her for charms homework...she liked that one a lot. So she got up, went to the board, and added her name to the list.

Her favourite spell? Easy. She knew what that was. Although she couldn't really perform it, it had been really helpful in the past. Not to mention how many injuries she would have without this spell and her brother to perform it.

Leaning on the front of her desk, Issy clasped her hands together and looked around the assembled faces. There were enough of them to start now. "Good morning everyone!" she said brightly. "Now, I usually start off the first lesson of term by asking you all to name one of the five exceptions to Gamps Law. But today, as you can see, I have them listed already. What I would like you all to do is choose one and tell me WHY it's considered an exception. In your opinion, why can we not use Transfiguration on, or for, these particular things. Just one each though please. And feel free to expand upon the text in your books, that's what I'm looking for. If anyone says something you would like to respond to, please do. But as this discussion will include opinions as well as known facts, please remember to keep it friendly. If you disagree with something, be nice in your replies." Isabelle paused to look around, then narrowed her eyes. "This also applies to the discussion we'll be having later on." Just in case they wondered.

Nerida looked at th board and thought for a moment about the Professor's question She finally raised her hand and saidI think we cant use transfiguration on Love because its an emotion something that just comes natural you cant force it to happen.

Nerida raised an eyebrow at the thought of doing all those things, she couldnt do that, she couldnt just use personal gain of magic, I think they should still be exceptions, without them we would be able to ruin lovelives and cheat our way into mansions and things like that, its just wrong!

Chelle's eyes scanned the board for inspiration. It was sort of a confusing question, because she hadn't learned many spells so far, but there was a certain spell that she liked very much. She walked up and filled in her name and her favourite spell in the blanks.

Hmmm. Her favorite spell. Well that was quite funny, because she'd already wrote about her favorite charm for her charms homework, and it was kind of her favorite spell too. Well wasn't that lucky? Because well she could use the same one. Indy did notice that others had put the spell too, but she didn't really mind that. Because it was kinda cool that they liked the same spell? Indy smiled, trying to think of a different reason for why she liked the spell. It wasn't as if she was going to put a different spell, because well that would be lying. And lying was a very bad thing. When it was her turn, Indy went up to the board and tried to write her spell in her neatest hand writing

Seriously? The small debate made her really hungry now so she didn't dare give out any comments as the discussion commenced, she didn't want to be talking in front of class and have her stomach grumbling right in the middle as a possibility. Nope. But she did agree mainly on what Vickers has said. He summed it all pretty much. Not that she was going biased with a fellow Ravenclaw but all he said just seemed right to her.
Then goes the list. She eyed it curiously, hoping that no one else would have the same favorite spell as her. Yet someone already did. She slouched her shoulders and buried her face on her bag some more. But really, what could she do? It was a good spell. Would she write down a new spell? One that wasn't on the list perhaps so it won't turn out as if she was cheating and just copying what that girl had written? Gaaaaah, now she detested herself for being so lazy and not approaching the Board before that girl did.
With a pout, she stood and walked to the Board. Deciding that two the same spells won't really hurt anyone, she added hers on the long list.

Seriously, this discussion was such boring for him. Gary just watched the students spoke while he chose to be silent and took a note, if it's necessary.
Then they must put their favorite spell. What? Gary couldn't decide which one was his favorite. He meaned that most of them were useful, and fun too. Zack liked the earlier topic very much, he hoped if the professor could continue a bit longer, though he didn't say much on the topic he knew what his opinion would be on the topic. He knew that the things that are not allowed by nature do have some of it's consequences in the end and everything has a price to pay. His mother would always talk about not breaking the rules and stuff, he didn't pay much attention in the rules breaking thing but he knew that every action and a reaction.
He saw professor write something on the board, he thought it would be something more interesting than the topic earlier. He looked at the board and thought of what spell he liked most. Without much of thinking he knew what his answer would be and moved towards the board to write.
