The blonde Malfoy grinned as she heard someone call out her name as the person passed with a happy cruppy. Emma whipped her head around. She knew that voice. It was Selena! She beamed at her friend and giggled as the cruppy began chasing his tail. Before Selena could say anything else, Emma hugged her tightly. Oh how she had missed her best friend! It was their seventh year and they needed to spend their year together before NEWTS rolled around.

"SELENA! Where have you been Miss Head Girl? I've missed you heaps! How have you been?" she exclaimed as her best friend was on her feat. She was so happy to see her best friend!

Selena beamed at her bestie and hugged Emma back tightly. Or as tightly as she could since Selena felt like she was going to suffocate or something. They probably ought to stop killing each other with hugs. And Clarke ought to stop chasing his tail before he got dizzy. The cruppy was distracted though by some sparkly shoes he saw. Hmm... "Clarke, you're not allowed to drool on Emma's shoes, kay?" Selena said, pointing at the cruppy who had walked over to Emma's shoes and proceeded on doing exactly what Selena had just told him NOT to do. Bad cruppy.

She turned her head to look at Emma and grinned. "I have beeeeeen... not studying!" Selena said, grin on her face. Psht studying... how silly. "Doing STUFF. And making sure Clarke didn't eat anyone's shoes." Though that didn't turn out all too well because Clarke found people's shoes to eat anyways. "Where were YOU?!"

Because it was TOTALLY Emma's fault they couldn't find each other. Yup. Because Selena was allergic to studying.

The playground.

Heh. The seventh year had always avoided this part of the grounds..mainly because she was WAY too old to even consider visiting the playground. But, here she was...Gosh. Watching the kids play brought so many childhood memories. How she wished she could play on the swings right now..sigh .ERM. ANYWAY.

Evelyn decided to hang out here for a while before she headed back to the common room. Books awaited her...eeeek. Evelyn sat down on the ground..and folded her legs. No stretching her legs out this time. She didn't want another person tripping over her legs.

Honestly, I have no idea why Edric of all people had decided to wander around the playground.
Despite his Scroogey demeanor, deep down the boy was still... well, a boy. He liked swings and he liked slides, he just didn't like sharing his recess time with other annoying kids.

He'd avoided it for as long as he could, but the time had come for Edric Barlow to discover the playground. He was surprised it wasn't infested with dozens of first years. No, there were quite a few people his age hanging around this area.

And just as the Gryffindor was beginning to consider the idea of climbing into the playground castle, he spotted an all-too-familiar brunette sitting on the ground somewhere near the swings.

Already inside the mini-Hogwarts castle, the sixteen-year-old went down the nearest slide (which looked short enough, but was enchanted to become a few yards taller when you were actually on it), and landed on his feet, creating a cloud of dust that enveloped his legs and the girl beside which he had landed.

Oh, oops.

"I promise I didn't do that on purpose," said Edric in his defense. Knowing Evs, she'd probably think he was trying to kill her through suffocation.

Whatttt the----!?

Evelyn started to cough a LOT when all of a sudden, a cloud of dust..or rather a storm of dust enveloped her. She got up and moved a couple of feet away. JEEZ. It just might be her fault for sitting so close to the slide..but whatever. She turned to face the culprit..heh. No surprise there. She sighed and brushed the dust away from her clothes.

And..Eddy defended himself by saying that he didn't do it on purpose. "I never said you did." Although..why did he just say that? Unless, he actually did that on purpose.. Trying not to show how annoyed she actually was, she moved away a few feet away and sat down.

"Don't you think you're a little too old to be playing on the slides?"

Edric shrugged his shoulders as Evelyn defended herself from being an accuser. Psh. The boy was just foreshadowing. If he didn't give his explanation Evs would just blame him later on.

As the girl went on to tease him about being 'too old' to be playing on the slides, Edric smirked.

"Says the seventeen-year-old sitting in the middle of the playground." Pshhhhh.

Suffocating each other with hugs probably wasn't a good idea... Oh well! Emma loved hugging her close friends. Her family weren't a very hands on or affectionate family. She let go of Selena after a few minutes and frowned ever so slightly as Clarke drooled on her shoes. Ewww.... These were new shoes too.. Brilliant. "Clarke!" she exclaimed a little mad before remembering that he was still a young cruppy. "You silly pup, don't do that!" she exclaimed, shaking her head.

Meeting Selena's eyes with her own brown ones, Emma laughed. "Not studying? Are you going to study at all?" asked Emma, grinning at her best friend. The Malfoy nodded again. "That must be a busy job stopping Clarke form eating people's shoes. I hope he hasn't eaten Lafay's yet," added Emma with a growing smirk. Hehe. That would be horrible if Clarke did eat the shoes.

"How has being Head Girl been? I've been under a PILE of BOOKS, preparing for NEWTS but I got an owl from Braeden telling me that I ought to make the most of my last year here and here I am," she teased, beaming every second. She reached into her small purse, pulling out a bag of candy. "However, I did manage to keep my stash supplied overt the past few months. So candy?" Emma offered, smirking her signature Malfoy smirk at her best friend. They were back in business.

"Do you see me playing on slides?" Evelyn said, indiginantly, looking up at him. The girl was way too uptight to even consider playing on the swings..jeez.

"Besides, What are you even doing here?" No, Evelyn wasn't being rude. The girl was just curious, that's all. Frankly, sixteen and seventeen year olds had no business being in the playground.

Alright. Fine. Evs had a point there. She wasn't playing on the slides and he was; guess that made him the more childish of the two. "You still shouldn't just sit in the middle of a playground, though. You're just asking for dust clouds and kids tripping over you, doing that." At least Eddy was smart enough to stay out of the way!

As the Hufflepuff went on to question his intentions, Edric shrugged.

"I'd never been here. Figured it was time I explored a bit," explained the boy simply. He then raised an eyebrow. "And you?" 'Cause if she was trying to suntan, this was the most inconvenient place to do it.

"Well..I know but I'm way too lazy to move right now." Like, she was going to move an inch. PFFT. She continued to look at the kids playing in the castle before she finally looked up at the boy again. "Do you want to join me?" Her neck was starting to ache from looking up at him and..he was her friend. So, he could join her..if he wanted to, that is.

"Really? I would have thought you were here to play." No, she never would have thought that actually..but it wouldn't hurt to tease him a little. Heh. "Just wasting time, I guess..I'd been studying in the morning.." Hard to believe, I know. "..so I figured I'd take a break for a little while."

Edric smiled faintly and shook his head as Evs explained she was too lazy to move. Lazy, this one. And yet somehow she was a prefect. He'd never understand how that happened.

As the older girl went on to invite him to join her, Edric proceeded to sit down on the ground beside her, honestly a little uneasy by the amount of children running past and around them. Um. Wasn't this a REALLY inconvenient spot? But Edric had no time to comment on this as Evelyn had spoken again, teasing him about coming to play at the playground. He rolled his eyes, though he seemed amused. "Oh, you know me. Ever the big child, always looking for the next adventure…" he said sarcastically.

And then Evs was confessing that she'd spent her morning STUDYING. Oh my oh my! :O
"You! Studying! I hope someone took a picture." 'Cause he couldn't believe it.

"Hey, what's with that disapproving look?" Evelyn said, with a frown. okay, she was a little lazy at times..especially when it came to studying. AHEM.

Evelyn rested her elbows on her knees as she watched the kids run around. Heh. Talking of kids.."You know, there's this girl I met the other day..who thought I was a ghost." Huh. Evelyn couldn't help but smile at the conversation. HEH. It was probably the weirdest conversation she'd had in her life.

Okay. That was a little insulting. "Why are you so surprised? It's not that I don't ever study.."

Selena giggled as Emma exclaimed about the cruppy drool on her shoes. "Clarke's going through a phase. He likes to eat clothes," Selena explained. And she couldn't get the cruppy to stop either. Maybe he'd learn to stop on his own though, right? Because he was a smart little cruppy... hungry but that didn't mean he wasn't smart.

Uh... Emma had a really good question. Sadly, Selena had no answer to it. Well, she did, Emma probably wouldn't like the answer though. "No intentions of studying at all!" Selena said, smile on her face. Studying was way too much work in Selena's book. Besides, she had other things to do... like making sure Clarke didn't eat Kent. Because despite what the professor said... it was a risk Selena didn't want to take. "Very busy, and I'm not sure, maybe I'll have to ask her..." Selena mused as Clarke continued to drool.

How was she? "GOOD." Duh. Wait a second... EMMA DIDN'T HAVE A FRUIT NICKNAME. "I'm calling you Watermelon," Selena decided. So she could continue naming everyone after a fruit. Like a cool kid. "And I agree with him! Why read? The books aren't going anywhere," Selena said with a smirk on her face. The books would be there forever anyways, people weren't. They all ought to make the most of their time... right? "YES PLEASE!" Selena exclaimed, grabbing a few sugary sweets and shoving them in her mouth. yum.

Ronnie skipped down to the playground, the place she hadn't been in a long while. She loved the playground so much, and was very happy to be there today. It was a bit chilly though.

*sigh*

She squealed with delight at the sight of the open dragon spring rocker. She giggled and hopped on, rocking back and forth dangerously. She laughed as it tried to knock her off, but she held on. She'd never let that thing knock her off! She smiled and patted it's little head. "I shall name you...Melvin." she said to the dragon spring rocker. Yay! Now he had a name! She smiled. She was so brilliant.

"Uhhh, but I'm Isaac." he replied stunned as he approached Ronnie who was on the dragon rocking thingy again. "I don' really think I look much like a Melvin." Why would she rename him anyway? He kind of liked his name!

Sitting down on the side of one of the dragon rockers he slipped his shoe off and lifted his foot to look at his ankle better, it really hurt a lot after he had got tangled in a vine and fell. He still was limping even though it had happened a few hours before.

Edric shrugged at Evelyn's first question, but when she went on to share with him a short story about how a girl had confused her for a ghost, the Gryffindor boy couldn't help but erupt in laughter. And Edric didn't laugh very often, so he must've found this hilarious. Which he did. I mean, c'mon. Poor Evs, but that was the funniest thing he'd heard in a while.

"You're surprised at my surprise? Have you forgotten our study date?" asked the boy, raising an eyebrow. It seemed perfectly logical for him to be shocked over the idea of Evs studying without someone having to force the books into her head. "You're not exactly the most studious type… Casper." BAHAHAHHA.
Oh gawsh he'd never get over that.

Seriously? Okay. So, it was pretty funny BUT she'd never known Edric to laugh..so, she was kind of suprised and a little embarrassed. "You know what the worst part was? She later confused me for a professor." Absolutely ridiculous. "Am I that tall, Eddy?" 'Cause she just HAD to know. She was quite tall, yes..but to confuse her for a professor or a ghost?

Evelyn rolled her eyes. "So, that wasn't my fault. I was bored and..and..distracted." Well, she kept distracting herself but yeah. Whatever. She'd started to study now. See? She wasn't that bad.

Wait, WHAT!? Casper? Evelyn flushed bright red. AHHH. Why she have to share that silly conversation with Eddy of all people!? "You better take that back, Eddy." No one was going to call her Casper. That's for sure.

Edric snorted as Evelyn explained that the confused student mistook her not only for a ghost, but for a professor as well. AW MAN. It just kept getting better and better! Edric hadn't laughed this joyfully in a loooooooong time.

"That's not so bad," the boy consoled his friend. But then he evilly added, "To be confused for a GHOST, however… well, that's terrible." BHAHHAHAHA. Terribly HILARIOUS is what it was. By now the boy was too busy laughing to realize that Evs was trying to defend her earlier laziness when they had tried to study in the library.

He did hear her, though, asking that he take back her new nickname.
Edric stopped for a moment to catch his breath, then replied simply, "No." Why should he? It was the greatest nickname in history.

Oh, crap. This was starting to get really embarrassing. She buried her face in her hands when he continued to laugh. OH GOSH. She was stupid. So, so, so stupid. Evelyn finally pulled her head back up and stared at him..although she had to bite her lip from smiling. What? It was pretty funny..whether she liked it or not.

"You're so annoying." Evelyn grumbled before she punched him lightly on the shoulder. "I'm not THAT pale. I tried telling her that but well..I finally convinced her that I'm a human being anyway.." OH. Why on earth was he still laughing!?

"No? Eddy, you are NOT to call me Casper."

Alice skipped down to the playground. Heh. She liked the place as soon as she saw it. It had slides and swings and rockers and ladders and roundabouts. In other words, it looked like the pure incarnation of fun. The girl jumped onto the roundabout and the enchanted thing started to whirl. The girl's long, blonde hair flew out behind her as she whirled and became dizzy. A grin spread across her face. This was fun.

The third year held onto the bars tightly as she spun. When she was she ruled the world, she'd have to make playgrounds along with duck ponds, sanctuaries for fishies, asylums for crazed Hufflepuff Prefects, and pretty stone pathways. Being a Queen was so hard. Hmph. But for the moment, she shook her head and cleared her thoughts of anything that made her unhappy. And just whirled.

FUN.

Since she had nothing to do at the common room, Erin skipped at the Hogwarts grounds. She heard that the playground was a favorite.

With the clink of her heels, the Ravenclaw strutted her way into one of the swings. And then, she heard a slightly overjoyed being from the other side and turned her attention to the sound. Something was definitely weird about her. Why was Erin a weird persons magnet these past few days? First was the Head Girl running around Hogwarts with a pygmy puff on her head, the Gryffindor guy from the dungeon corridor and now, another Lion. But now, she knew this being. She was actually in Erin's batch, a fellow third year and she was rumoured to be a psycho who says she'll change the world, though Erin had a strong belief that it was the other way around. It's gonna be Erin Heyman who'll conquer the world by becoming the Minister of Magic someday. Wait yo all Minister employees.

Edric was still laughing silently to himself, his cheeks beginning to grow a little sore from the unusual amount of smiling he was doing as he laughed, when Evelyn accused him of being annoying. "Yeah, I get that pretty often…" confessed the Gryffindor, not looking sorry at all. PSH. This was too funny to feel sorry.

"You are a little pale…" muttered Edric, then shrugging. "Pale looks good on you, though." He couldn't imagine Evelyn with a tan. Part of her charm was her light skin. She was like a Snow White of sorts.

As Evelyn went on to forbid him from calling her 'Casper', Edric shook his head. "Nope. Not happening. Sorry Casper, but from now on that's your name. Don't worry, I'll make sure to spread it around so everyone else can start calling you that and you can get used to it."
He was so kind.

Seriously!? He was STILL laughing? Evelyn was starting to find this whole incident rather ridiculous and embarrassing and Eddy was just making it worse. Weirdo. "Well, that's because you are." Annoying, that is.

OH. Evelyn didn't really mind being pale... "You think so?" She asked, when he said that pale looked good on her. "I mean, I like being pale though. It kind of makes me stand out." Her height made her stand out as well..unfortunately.

"No!" Evelyn exclaimed in dismay. She did NOT want people calling her Casper. She liked Eve and that's what she wanted people to call her. Evs was an exception but.. Casper!? "Fine. You call me Casper..but don't spread it around." Pretty please?

"Oh, I must be," Edric agreed to Evs's accusations about him being annoying. "I mean, here you are putting up with it and sitting next to me. I must be terribly annoying," he went on with a half-smirk, obviously just teasing the girl.

As Evelyn went on about her paleness, Edric nodded in agreement. It did, indeed, make her stand out. And in a good way, too.
But then she was agreeing to being called 'Casper', and Edric's eyebrows raised in surprise. He hadn't expected her to give in so quickly - or to give in EVER, really. "Great! First thing tomorrow morning I'll announce your new name to the Great Hall!" He totally ignored her last request. Obviously.

Heh. Alice liked the Roundabout. Every second that she held on to it, the things spun faster, but it slowed down when another girl neared it. Hmph. Ravenclaw. Wearing heels. Who wore heels to a Playground covered with dirt and woodchips? She looked around the lioness' age, but she had a questioning look on her face. "Oh. Did you want a turn? 'Cause I don't know if this thing can hold both of us, but we can try." She grabbed the 'Claw's hand and pulled her onto the Roundabout. Wheeeeeeeeeee.

"Do you think we should stay on the Roundabout or go on the swings? Or the slides? I heard that they were enchanted to get steeper as you went down!!" Alice gushed, excited.

'Cause the Playground was FUNNNNNNNNNNNN.
