The beginning of term, new faces, old faces, new adventures... yeah Bentley was excited. As she stood in the entrance to Greenhouse Four, she rocked back and forth on the ball of her feet, her hands clasped in front of her.
"Good morning everyone! The lesson will begin shortly, in the meantime please take a seat." She motioned her hands to a few rows of benches that have been placed near the entrance to the greenhouse for the purpose of that lesson.
OOC: The lesson has officially started, DO NOT announce your character arriving from this point onward, as they will be late, and late = trouble. If you haven't done so already then please read through the Herbology Rules and Expectations and the SS Site Rules. All SS Board Rules apply. Sarah cleaned the teeth patiently. She started with the left part as Gwen held the plant. She scrubbed a particularly large and unmatchable yellowish-green teeth for quite a long time. Sarah rubbed hard and removed the dirt successfully. She worked on the inner side of the teeth.
She spared a quick glance at Gwen. "Would you work with the right side?" she asked, scrubbing. "We could finish faster" she said. This is pathetic.

Still the plant was pretty cool besides for the yellow tooth bit.
"Flossing is overrated for plants." she said. She just had to say it. It wasn't like the plant did it to itself, it was getting a pretty big treat with people cleaning its teeth for them. She started scrubbing harder and in no time she finished the tooth she was working on and started working on another.
She wanted to call her Prefect? Well, duh. Of course she could call her Prefect. It made Sierra feel even more important than the badge already did. "Well," she said, trying to keep a calm tone to her voice, "I suppose you could. Yes, Prefect sounds nice." She grinned in pride for a few moments before turning back to the plant and flossing some more.
When that piece of floss was no longer good, she tossed it to the side and got a new piece. She threaded it through the plant's teeth and began to move it back and forth. She laughed a little at Liesel's comment regarding the flossing. "I'll say," she said with a laugh. She slid the floss out of the teeth and moved on to another set. She threaded it through those teeth and began the same back and forth motion again.

After he had been flossing his geraniums teeth for some time before he saw that the twine he had was all used up.. so he put it to one side and rolled out some more and diffindo'd it once again.. he then wrapped the twine around the base of the fang and started cleaning the base freeing all the fleshy food that had been stuck there since its last meal.. moving the twine round the base.
He continued doing this until he had finished working on the bottom half of his geranium.. and then he started to working on the top half knowing that it would be a little tougher than the bottom given the position that he would have to be in to floss the top.. but he still carried on he wanted to help out this little plant cause without him, Minnie and the others these teeth would be tough to clean.. he wondered who cleaned these teeth instead of them on a normal basis.. but back to cleaning.. well flossing.
First stop, top row. Forcing her string between the top teeth was diffucult the first time around, yet once the whole row had been done, she went over it like a chain saw. The gums started to bleed sap, a sign of lack of dental hygine. "You can bleed all you want, but rest assured you will thank me when you are older!".
Derrick looked around.''Yeah sure.''He said smiling.''Well I Guess we better start then.''He looked around and grabbed a tooth brush.''I'll start with the brushing,we don't have long left.''He said and got to work.
Hydra grabbed the floss and stated flossing the plant. She flossed right in between the gaps of the teeth.
Back and forth, back and forth, Sarah went with the floss, doing the second row. It was rather hard at first but now she was getting used to it. Soon, each tooth had been flossed and Sarah was left with a rather.. eh.. interesting coloured piece of floss. Back home, her father, a whizz at herbology took care of the plants, yet bnow she was learning how to do it too. Good thing as the ''baby of the house' her job was still the watering.

‘Well… the plant is sedated…’, Gwendolyn mused as she eyed the plant again. ‘I guess splitting up would be a good idea’ Erm. That was what they were supposed to do, anyway. Work as a team. But still, why bother brushing the plant’s teeth when she could hold it? Besides, that way would make the job easier for Sarah. ‘Sure. Let’s start’, the fourth year finally said.
Good. Sarah was going to go first. The Ravenclaw looked like one of those muggle dentist’s helper. Hmph. Meh, anyway. When Sarah would get sick of that plant, Gwen could take the brushing from there. For now, the fourth year only focused on keeping the plant’s mouth open to help the other girl do the brushing. ‘Any time you want to switch places, just say so’,the Ravenclaw gave a small nod. She was hoping she wouldn’t have to brush, but still… leaving Sarah to do the whole work wasn’t the best option.
‘Erm…’, Gwen looked a bit puzzled at the plant. It was… odd… holding a sedated plant. She had to admit- she had never expected this to happen during a Herbology class. Shouldn’t this be more of a Care of Magical Creatures thing? Because this wasn’t a plant. It was a creature. Yes?
But then something that Sarah said interrupted her thoughts. ‘Umm..’Ugh. Great.‘Sure’, Gwen said as she grabbed a brush, and started working on the right side. Well, it could have been much worse. Just sayin’.

Now that he's done brushing the plant' teeth, he gonna need the floss.
It look like a rope than a floss. Hmm..Maybe because its a special kinda floss for this kind of plants. Come to think of it, if the plants used the same floss like them it probably won't do any good. Since the plant teeth are SO much bigger than the human teeth.
"Okay plant. Its floss time!"

Sarah watched Gwen scrub the plant's teeth harder and harder. The plant doesn't look that bad. Sarah thought of patting it. She hesitated for a moment, but then slowly placed her hand on it's head and stroked it. The plant stirred a little. She removed her hand immediately and turned to Gwen. "Uh-oh" she said, as she saw Gwen try harder. "Come on, give me that" she said in a friendly tone, reaching for the brush. "I'll do the rest while you can get ready for the flossing." she paused, "Besides, I'm becoming an expert in it" she grinned. Patience, the power.
As Isaac spoke again, Stella gave him an odd look. If she wasn't interpreting things wrong, it sounded like he was saying that he'd decided to let her do the brushing because it would keep her safer. While that didn't really bother her, it just wasn't exactly something she'd expected. Even if she still used Matt as her idea of what a Slytherin was like, and she knew he'd want her safe no matter what. That was an entirely different case, and she'd just met Isaac. She wasn't about to let him approach the plant without backup, though. He was right on another thing. The piranha plant definitely had sharp teeth.
She still wasn't entirely certain of the advisability of flossing before brushing, but in the same respect, Professor Bentley hadn't stopped them. Therefore, it must not be completely wrong, and as long as the plant's teeth got cleaned, she figured it didn't matter how it happened. Shifting the brush to one hand, she reached out gingerly and stroked the head of the plant as it looked like the Slytherin was preparing for reaching into its mouth with the floss. All she had to do was pretend she was petting her sister's dog, and hopefully it wouldn't bite anyone's hand off. She held her breath as he'd started flossing, though. She wouldn't be comfortable until they were finished, and she was half tempted to suggest she just follow right behind him. Brush the teeth he'd just flossed and then maybe they'd be done quicker.
Until the plant shuddered under her hand, and she jumped along with Isaac, nearly dropping the toothbrush on the ground. "Are you alright?," she asked the boy. He hadn't gotten bitten or anything, had he?, she thought. It didn't seem so, as he had reached forward again to continue flossing. It only made her more determined to finish this once and for all, though. No matter how teerified she was, she wasn't going to back down, and she reached over again to resume stroking the plant's head Stay calm, stay calm, she kept repeating silently. Not sure if she was talking to the plant or herself.
He noticed the odd look that she gave him at looked at her curiously "What?" he asked. Was it something he'd said? Thinking back to what he'd just said about her brushing with the handle keeping her safer then having the hands in the mouth near those teeth. He figured if it was something that he didn't want Amelia to do, he'd not want anyone else to do it. Didn't matter if it was another guy or a gal. He wasn't being a hero or anything, just hated seeing others get hurt if he could prevent it!
Breathing out slowly as he moved down the line on the teeth, every tiny movement the plant made caused him to jump but not as drastically. Though he kept his eyes on it. "Yep." he said in response to her question, but too concentrated to really answer any better. Those teeth were sharp enough to slice his hand or wrist if he didn't pay attention to what he was doing!
Finally breathing a sigh of relief when he reached the last one, he lifted out the floss, making a face at the bits of food all along the string. "Thet's disgusting!" he said as he pinched one end carrying it to the garbage.

Right. She'll hold the plant so Aurora could easily brush its deadly teeth. She held it sooo gently, only to prevent it from wiggling or something, which is exactly what it did. It didn't take more than a slight move to make Nora's eyes widen. "EEEEK!" The girl clapped her hands over her mouth, although a bit too late, since she had already shrieked.
"S-sorry." How on Merlin's sparkly hat was she going to do this assignment?!
She knew what she had to do. A lot of deep breaths. She needed those because, thanks to her great idea, she'd be the one flossing its teeth afterwards. Well, whether she liked it or not, she had to do something. That's what working in pairs meant, right?
Aurora removed her hand with the toothbrush quickly when Nora shrieked - the plant had not liked that. "Shhhhh!" she said, stroking the plant and trying to calm it down... not that it was doing much - the sedation seemed to be holding pretty strong. "It's alright, you know. They're sedated. And it's not going to bite through your gloves." she said to Nora, smiling a bit.
She waited until Nora had got a hold on the plant again and started brushing once more, making sure to get right to the back teeth.
If Louisa's own heart wasn't about to get plucked out of her chest, she would've gone typically mocking and sarcastic at his reaction. Alas, this opportunity was gone with the wind. [/mugglebornbackground]
Nodding reassuringly at the boy, Louisa shakily continued this torture task. Moving the brush upward and downward, flinching every time her fingers touched the lips with sometime a squeak if Lewis' hands were a bit saggy at their job. she needed someone to blame
"Okay, okay... I guess teeth are over.." She stepped back and siiiighed, throwing the brush to the ground disgustedly. Not that it showed because Louisa was acting disgusted all the time anyways. "Flossing is next... you can take a break." For thirty seconds. Louisa hurried to get the flossing line.
How exactly were they supposed to do this? It probably meant... Oh no. Louisa stood back in front of the evil plant and swallowed. "I.. think.. we need to get inside its mouth." She looked sideways at her martyr partner before slapping him on the back with one hand and shoving the flossing line onto his chest with the other. "Your turn." And she would hold the plant's deadly mouth open for him. She could do it now that she made sure the plant was actually sedated and safe. Thanks a bunch Lewis.
Without waiting for his permission, Louisa took two steps forward and stood on the plant's side. It wasn't so intimidating when you didn't have to look at its teeth so closely and directly. The Ravenclaw extended her hand and touched the top of the plant's head only to jerk it back to her chest with a squeak. Breathing in and out several times, Louisa did it again and this time she managed to get hold of the plant's head.
She was not going to touch the lips. Steadying the head should be enough for him. Whether he wanted it or not.
"HURRY!" She hissed.
There was something in the back of his mind that he'd once read about these plants that might have been helpful but somehow he just couldn't remember. Ugh. Okay, then he was just going to have to stay like he was. With his hands holding that thing's mouth open and Louisa doing the rest. Oh, and of course he was still making sure that the plant didn't suddenly start moving again.
That would have been...bad.
Hearing the relieving words that she was done with the brushing, Lewis immediately let go of the plant and took a step back. It had been done. He winced a little when the toothbrush Louisa had thrown hit the floor and he glanced over at her, only to find himself faced with her back as she went to get the flossing line. Right, they WEREN'T entirely done.
Until she returned Lewis busied himself with picking up the brush - he did NOT like things just lying around on the floor - and - seeing as he didn't know where else to put it right now - placed it inside the plant's pot so it was sticking out vertically. Right. And now on to the flossing part. He was ready when she was.
Lewis had already positioned himself with his hands on the plant's head again so he could hold open its mouth for Louisa when he froze, just staring at her. His...turn? "But...you were doing so well." That and he REALLY didn't want to get inside that plant's mouth. What if it DID come alive then? It had been sedated for a while now and who knew how long it was still going to last.
The flossing line he had automatically taken from her in his hands, the Hufflepuff slowly made his way around to the other side of the plant, chewing on his lip nervously. It looked a lot scarier from this side. His eyes flickered towards Louisa one last time before resting on the plant's teeth again. It was probably only fair that they would change positions. That still didn't make this any easier.
Once Louisa had taken a hold of the plant's head, Lewis took a deep breath and started flossing its teeth. That wasn't so hard actually. It was really- His hand jerked a little when Louisa hissed at him and it hit one of the plant's teeth. Oh no! Had he broken it?! Glancing up at the Ravenclaw again, he frowned a little. "Y-you're making me nervous."So stop please!
Hesitantly returning his gaze to the plant's teeth, he eyed the tooth he had accidentally hit carefully. No, it seemed fine. A little...wobbly maybe but it was fine. Absolutely. So...more flossing.

Taking the toothbrush from Aurora, Nora actually stepped in front of those terrifying teeth the plant, which wasn't something that had crossed her mind. Silly girl. Slowly and gently, she got closer and closer, and started brushing, although her back was all stiff, and she was ready to run for her life ANY moment.
"Okaaay," she spoke cautiously after a while, only not to annoy Mr Human Eating Plant. "I think it's good enough, right?" She stepped aside so Aurora could take a look and, only at her approval, they could go on with the flossing, so Nora could go as far away as possible.
With his right hand, Messer took the minty floss. Maybe he should start with the upper teeth because it look more easier?
He pulled the minty floss through the tooth and wiggling it down and when he did that, Messer saw some of the leftovers from its food coming off. "You should floss more, Plant." he told the plant even though he knew that the plant didn't understand him. The young Hufflepuff continued to floss the plant upper teeth till he was sure that all the leftovers left it teeth.

Ugh.
Sierra didn't mind plants, but what she did mind was brushing and flossing their teeth. She still didn't get the point in them helping care for a plant that could quite possibly use its teeth to harm them later on.
Nevertheless, she kept right on flossing. When the second piece of floss was all used up, she tossed it to the side, too, and then got a brand new piece. She carefully threaded it through the plant's teeth then moved it in a back and forth motion.
The teeth were actually starting to shine now, which made Sierra feel just a little bit better about the fact that she was literally cleaning nastiness of the teeth of a plant. At least she had gloves on.
Sarah watched Gwen scrub the plant's teeth harder and harder. The plant doesn't look that bad. Sarah thought of patting it. She hesitated for a moment, but then slowly placed her hand on it's head and stroked it. The plant stirred a little. She removed her hand immediately and turned to Gwen. How come Sarah was ready? So soon? Gwen wasn’t sure there was something she did wrong, or if the other girl was doing really good. Juuust focus, the fourth year told herself, as she finally started brusing another spot. There. She would be done in a minute… hopefully.
‘Hmm?’, Gwendolyn mused as she drew her attention back towards Sarah. ‘It’s fine’, she mused. I am perfectly capable of finishing this myself. But some help would be good. ‘Could you work on this part?’, the fourth year said as she pointed towards the front- right part. That would definitely help.
‘Looks good’ Erm. As good as a flesh eating plant could look. Shiny. Smile now. Gwen went on brushing as she made a mental note of getting more information about this sort of plants after class was over. Why.was.she.acting.like.such.a.Ravenclaw? Ehem.
The flossing seemed to be the hardest thing for the young lion. Jezzabelle pulled the string back and forth between each tooth and occasionally it would snag here or there. She would have to inspect each section to ensure that whatever was in between was gone.
The hardest part was not being able to know whether or not she was hurting the plant. She knew for fact that if she applied to much pressure while flossing she would irritate her gum line and that was the last thing she wanted to do to this precious plant.
She was almost done and the teeth were looking nice a pretty. She had found bits of this and some of that in between the teeth but they were shaping up to be really nice.
Floss. Floss. Floss. Floss.

He winced a little when the toothbrush Louisa had thrown hit the floor and he glanced over at her, only to find himself faced with her back as she went to get the flossing line. Right, they WEREN'T entirely done.
Until she returned Lewis busied himself with picking up the brush - he did NOT like things just lying around on the floor - and - seeing as he didn't know where else to put it right now - placed it inside the plant's pot so it was sticking out vertically. Right. And now on to the flossing part. He was ready when she was.
Lewis had already positioned himself with his hands on the plant's head again so he could hold open its mouth for Louisa when he froze, just staring at her. His...turn? "But...you were doing so well." That and he REALLY didn't want to get inside that plant's mouth. What if it DID come alive then? It had been sedated for a while now and who knew how long it was still going to last.
The flossing line he had automatically taken from her in his hands, the Hufflepuff slowly made his way around to the other side of the plant, chewing on his lip nervously. It looked a lot scarier from this side. His eyes flickered towards Louisa one last time before resting on the plant's teeth again. It was probably only fair that they would change positions. That still didn't make this any easier.
Once Louisa had taken a hold of the plant's head, Lewis took a deep breath and started flossing its teeth. That wasn't so hard actually. It was really- His hand jerked a little when Louisa hissed at him and it hit one of the plant's teeth. Oh no! Had he broken it?! Glancing up at the Ravenclaw again, he frowned a little. "Y-you're making me nervous."So stop please!
Hesitantly returning his gaze to the plant's teeth, he eyed the tooth he had accidentally hit carefully. No, it seemed fine. A little...wobbly maybe but it was fine. Absolutely. So...more flossing.
Louisa pursed her lips together, fine. She wasn't about to tell him to hurry up but he had only one minute to finish his job before she took her hands off this filthy plant. Her eyes moved toward the scene made by ---
"Joao?" She gasped as a little boy went headbutt into her ex. "Crap!" she almost let go of the plant's mouth probably causing Lewis' hands to be trapped between the teeth but professor Bentley was already heading toward the three, saving not only the little boy but also Lewis from being chopped off by a sedated plant.
Her eyes moved from the Brazilian boy to Lewis working hard in front of her. She could swear that he was almost sweating in focus and seriousness. She found herself snickering at this. He was serious in a funny way, "Geez, Lewis, you sure look like a hard working student." Heh. Also, "So, you and Kurumi are close friends?" SMIRK. Because Bentley didn't say anything about partners not chatting together. Besides, that hand-holding thing didn't go unnoticed and won't go unquestioned.
Messer was done with the upper teeth. The teeth were clean from it leftovers you can't see any foods between the plants teeth anymore. Well done Messer.
"Now its time to floss your lower teeth, Plant." The young Hufflepuff took a new floss since he can't really used his previous floss its already dirty with the foods that stuck in between the plant' teeth. He start to floss the lower teeth.
Floss. Floss. Floss. Floss.
Messer eyed his handy work. The teeth now look much cleaner and shiner than before.

Hydra picked up the toothbrush and began to brush the back of it's teeth and quickly removing her had quickly every few second when it seemed like it would snap back. She started brushing in circular motions to make sure that she was cleaning it well...
'First years are supposed to work on their own with a different plant... But oh well I won't hurt to help someone who needs a partner.' She thought aloud.

Back and forth. Back and forth. Back and forth.
Back and forth the flossing line went between the plant's front teeth and Lewis was slowly getting into this whole assignment. It wasn't that hard. If you just concentrated on the teeth and not the fact that those teeth belonged to a plant which was - in case it woke up - very likely going to chew his hands off. So yeah, it was just teeth. Teeth he had to clean.
Looking up sharply at Louisa's gasp, Lewis quickly returned to his work as soon as he noticed her staring at a little commotion off to their right. But Professor Bentley was there already so there was nothing for them to work about. So he just went on flossing, even moving a little further into the plant's mouth to get to the teeth in the back of its mouth.
Louisa should be focusing on holding the plant, not staring off at headbutting students.
Not really bothering to comment on her first words about him being a hard-working student - he knew he was - Lewis was back to working on its front teeth again. He was going to make sure the teeth were entirely cle-
He pulled on the flossing line so suddenly at her next question that he sort of kind of...took one of the teeth with him. Or well, almost anyway. It was still there...hanging off by a single thread off the plant's 'gums'. Oh no."Uhm...L-Louisa...?" Lewis chose not to answer her question since they had more important matters on their hands right now. He moved his head back a little and nodded towards the plant's mouth.
