The beginning of term, new faces, old faces, new adventures... yeah Bentley was excited. As she stood in the entrance to Greenhouse Four, she rocked back and forth on the ball of her feet, her hands clasped in front of her.
"Good morning everyone! The lesson will begin shortly, in the meantime please take a seat." She motioned her hands to a few rows of benches that have been placed near the entrance to the greenhouse for the purpose of that lesson.
OOC: The lesson has officially started, DO NOT announce your character arriving from this point onward, as they will be late, and late = trouble. If you haven't done so already then please read through the Herbology Rules and Expectations and the SS Site Rules. All SS Board Rules apply. IC rule breaking will result in IC punishment, OOC rule breaking will result in OOC punishment. Please behave appropriately and most importantly... have fun. New school year! New Beginnings. First Class: Herbology. Sarah had taken extra care this morning, waking up early in order to hvae time to affix her hair in a French Braid and look prepared. Now as she entered the greenhousem she began feeling nervous. Everyone seemed as if they had a right to belong, but her.
I have the same right as them to be here, thought Sarah as she entered the greenhouse. She then found a seat and sat down.

First lesson of the term was Herbology. Elise's favourite subject of all time, despite that Snargluff dislocating her wrist last term. Stumbling into Greenhouse 4, she looked around. They usually used Greenhouse 1, and this just made Elise a little scared.
As soon as she saw Professor Bentley, a bright grin lit her face up and she waved happily. "Hi, Professor Bentley!" she beamed. "Did you have a good summer?"
Still grinning widely, she made her way to the benches and sat herself down with her bag at her feet.
Nervous. Pfft. Amelia Kaikoura Johanson didn't get nervous.
She got excited - winded - and exhausted. But never nervous. Yes, winded because someone decided to build a school where you had to go down seven flights of moving staircases in order to get to the entrance hall and THEN walk outside AND to the greenhouses.
She was winded yes, but not winded enough to not be able to let out an audible gasp as she stepped into the Greenhouses. There was the happy looking Professor at the front of the classroom and she just couldn't help but wave and nearly yell "Hello Professor" since she was her new Professor after all. She smiled sheepishly as she found a place to stand and tried to find other excited first years like herself.
Pant-pant-GASP-pant-pant.
There her breathing wasn't sounding like a deflating bag pipe anymore. That was a good thing. Sounding like deflating anything was never a good sing. Never.

Minerva bounced into Herbology. She was excited to get started with her first term. "Good morning Professor, hope you had a great summer." she went to find a place that was open.
Taylor walked into to the class, "Morning Professor." She gave a half smile, not in the mood for a full, "I hope you have a lovely summer." Tay saw Minerva and went beside her , "Hey Min."
Herbology! The first lesson of the term. Its definitely a good sign. Since he's pretty much enjoy Herbology last term. Learning about the plants and other things.
"Hello, Professor." Messer greeted the Herbology Professor with a curt nod. "How's your summer Professor?" he asked before the Hufflepuff went to take a sit on the benches.

Most of the places were empty and Sarah hated sitting alone. Alone meant, argh. I don't wanna know what it means! She spotted the guy she meant at the Common Room. She made way to his seat. "Hey" she smiled. "Do you mind if I?" she asked pointing the vacant seat next to him.
Oh hey, that girl again. "Not really, go on ahead," he half-smiled. He wasn't tired anymore, but still, Zeke was getting used to the half-smiles. It was much easier to do, smiling on one side of the face.
And he continued to watch the other students arrive one by one, each giving the professor a good morning and a "how-was-your-summer" greeting. Was that a routine they did around here? He didn't know. But he wasn't planning on standing up again to approach the professor and ask her about it.
That was when the realization hit him. This was THEIR house leader, moderator, whatever the word was. Eep. Better make a good impression Zeke. Make Gryffindor proud. Heheh.

Beatrice shuffled through the corridors of the castle, out into the school grounds, passing by a few students who didn't seem too excited to attend the very first class of the term which she thought was just plain ridiculous. Honestly, who didn't want to attend the very first class, and Herbology at that!?
Upon arriving in front of Greenhouse Four, she halted, straightened up, adjusted her robe and necktie, and pulled up the sling of her backpack tight on her shoulder. Their Herbology professor was waiting right at the door frame and Beezus couldn't help but smile widely as she walked over. "Professor Seren," Yes, she was one of the reasons why the eaglette badly wanted to return to Hogwarts. "It's..very nice to see you."
Jezzabelle was really excited for the first Herbology lesson of the new year. She had missed this class the most and had lost the textbook twice in her own greenhouse. She walked into Greenhouse Four and gave a big cheerful smile. "Good day Professor Bentley."
Taking a seat on one of the benches she pulled out a rubber band and tied back her hair in a nice and tidy little bundle at the nape of her neck. She hadn't a clue what they were doing but she had learned over the summer that long hair was very troublesome when around plants. She patted her gloves in her pocket and nodded. She was ready to go.

The summer had been long for Nessie, even though it felt short and it was hard to believe that here she was already at her first lesson of the year.Herbology. Not Nessie's favorite subject, but neiter was it her worst. It was alright maybe even a little enjoyable.
The red head walked in slowly. She still had to be careful because of her back brace, it still wasn't comfortable but it was better then before. It was a good thing it wasn't visible or everyone would have known by now. Just a little bit longer and then hopefully she'd get to take it off. She was coping okay though and she was recovering quickly, which was all that mattered now.
Taking a few more steps, Nessie reached where the Professor was standing. "Good Morning, Professor, I hope your summer was good." she said politely and then continued on her way to the benches
Once reaching the front row benches, the badger took a seat and waited for the lesson to begin.

Hannah walked into the greenhouse with a determined look on her face. She was still sore that they had came in last place last term. And the cherry on the sundae was that the Puffers came in first. Truth be told that what was bothering her so much. Puffers...PFFFFT! They had to have been cheating. That would not happen this year she assured herself. She would do everything in her power to earn her house as many points as she could. If any other Slytherins lost points they would have to pay!!! She spotted the professor. "Nice to see you again Professor." She scanned the room for familiar faces and happened to spot Jezzabelle. Not wanting to talk and risk a point loss she simply threw her friend a smile.

Harvey was always excited to be in the Herbology classes and today was no different he walked in and saw the professor "Good Morning Professor Bentley" he greeted her with cheerfulness and excitement at the prospect of what could be coming in today's class AND seeing Professor Bentley "Hope your summer was good" he smiled before he sat down near Minnie and Taylor "Hey Mins.. Selena liked Herbology. Sometimes. Most of the time actually. The Slytherin quickly finished off her chocolate bar and shoved the wrapper into her bag before fixing her robes and entering the greenhouse though.
"Helloooo Professor Bentley," Selena greeted, smile on her face as she took a seat on one of the benches. Yaaay. Herbology. As long as if there were no vines trying to eat everyone, Selena was alright with it.

He had done so badly on his Herbology OWL, and really didn't think he should continue, but his mum had insisted that he take Herbology anyway, because it would help him understand plants, and that they would help him a lot. Meh, he needed to work harder, and hopefully prove to Professor Bentley he wasn't that hopeless in her class!
Ducking his head as he walked past the professor he blushed, hoping she wouldn't notice him, as he headed for a spot on a bench towards the back.
Silvia made her way down to the Greenhouses for the first lesson of the term. It was a nice morning, and while Herbology wasn't one of her favorite subjects, she was excited to begin her second year. At the entrance to the greenhouses she paused to, once more, check that she had everything she needed in her bag, including her dragonhide gloves. Wouldn't want to start the semester off by being unprepared, that would be a nightmare.
Stepping into the greenhouse, Silvia made her way down between the benches towards the front. "Hello Professor Bentley," she greeted as she took her seat and waited attentively for class to begin.

Zack walked in to his very first class of his second term he was not as nervous as he was in his first year. He was now familiar with the school rules and was starting to like it better than anything. As he walked in the class with his bag hung on his left shoulder he could smell the green plants as he always did whenever he entered the greenhouse. He couldn't say if he liked it very much but it was kind of pleasant sometimes.
He walked in and grabbed a seat near where professor stood. He removed the bag from his shoulder and set it on his side. He looked at professor and said "Hey Professor Bentley, Good Morning" and smiled at her.

Maxwell walked into greenhouse four very close to the start of the lesson "Hello, Professor Bently." He offered his head of house a polite smile. He noticed Taylor and Minerva and sat with them closer to Taylor. "Hey" He said to both girls in a quieter voice as to no disturb the class.

Gideon headed outside to the greenhouses, his sachel slung over his shoulder ready for the first class of the term. Inwardly he was kinda glad it was herbology seeing as he needed either that or potions to distract him from not having Astronomy class. That had taken him by surprise. Finding Greenhouse 4, the one they were supposed to have class in, he slipped inside to see there were a few students already there as well as Professor Bentley.
"Good day professor," he greeted with a polite smile before moving to take a seat on one of the benches.
Louisa walked through the greenhouse with her bag slung over her shoulder and her eyes roaming the place for that evil plant Wasima that was just so precious for some inexplicable reason. SCOFF.
Heading for the class place she nodded smiling at Bentley, "Hi professor. Hope you had an exciting summer." Like a romantic one as well. Shouldn't she get married soon before it was too late? Bentley was beautiful and not wrong in the head like some others.
Bentley, Bentley, Bentley! Selina repeated this mantra over and over again as she made her way down to the first Herbology lesson of the year. She loved Bentley's class, perhaps it had something to do with the fact that Bentley was a brilliant teacher, but it also did not hurt that she was the best Head of House that Selina could have ever had imagined having in school.
Her Professor had always made Selina feel welcome and important, so when she looked down at her schedule and saw that she was starting off her mornings with Bentley, the redhead nearly jumped for joy. But then of course she saw that Kurumi had cookies in the Common Room and had gotten distracted.
She was not distracted anymore now though as she made her way down to the Green Houses. As she walked in she smiled at Bentley and said, "Hello Professor. Enjoy your summer?"

"Morning Kurumi," Seren replied, returning the small bow. She hoped today's lesson would serve as a sufficient distraction for her Prefect. It must have been hard coming back so soon, though in many ways it was probably for the best. Keeping busy was always best.

"Hi professor!" He didn't actually know her name? But oh well! And she didn't literally mean TAKE a seat, did she? Well if it was comfy maybe he would after class? Somehow. Rope some other firsties into seat carrying.
They WOULD need seating for his special project after all.
My my my.. now there was one active and interesting Slytherin. Certainly a personality to keep a watchful eye on. "Hello and welcome!"

Jonathan was taught well about herbology during his absence at Hogwarts last term. He's just hoping that he'll do a great job on this lecture today. Which is why Jonathan likes her.
Jonathan walked to the first herbology lesson and found himself sitting down on one corner. Professor Bentley was up early, seeing her gleeful face made Jonathan feel at ease with it. Seems like they'll be having a nice day today. Putting his bag on the side, Jonathan looked at the Professor "Good day, Professor. You look refreshed" Jonathan greeted. He's expecting her summer had been awesome, yes? He then took a seat after greeting her.
"Ahh good morning Jonathan," she greeted. Refreshed? "It's amazing what a couple of months in heaven can do." Because that was exactly where she was, in heaven. "I trust you enjoyed your holidays also?"

"Professor, hii!" Dora waved eagerly at the woman and hopped into her seat beside West, feet dangling. They were happy to have a break. "That was a long walk." She spoke to West but her eyes had wandered elsewhere.
LOOK AT ALL THE PLANTS. She kinda wished this seat was a spinning one so she could look at them FASTER but all she could do was turn in her seat manually.
"Hello hello!" she greeted the next couple of students to enter.
Consulting her watch, Seren wondered how many more students were going to joint hem before she should begin. Hopefully the first years wouldn't get lost. A fair few of them had already managed to find their way.

He was even more excited this year because he had his hero, Mr.Duckles back. As the Slytherin made his way towards the greenhouse he had his school bag not on his back, but on his stomach. Like carrying a baby around. Of course there was no baby but his plush duck's head, that he had finally gotten back after a whole year from his father, was sticking out of the opening from the bag. He was still a bit nervous on what others would think about the plushy and he hoped that Indy had taken Pink Ted with her as well...wait..why was he thinking about her..AGAIN?!
Daichi's eyes twinkled with excitment as he saw the other students sitting on the benches near the green house and before sitting down he walked up to the Professor to greet her. "Hai Professor Bentley~!" the fourth year bowed his head and the bag with Mr.Duckles in it lowered as well. "Had a nice summer , Professor?"

As the next two students entered Seren couldn't help but smile to herself. Two lovely Snakes. "Good morning Daichi, Zhenya," she greeted with a nod. "I had a really nice summer and plenty of sun, thank you for asking."

She got excited - winded - and exhausted. But never nervous. Yes, winded because someone decided to build a school where you had to go down seven flights of moving staircases in order to get to the entrance hall and THEN walk outside AND to the greenhouses.
She was winded yes, but not winded enough to not be able to let out an audible gasp as she stepped into the Greenhouses. There was the happy looking Professor at the front of the classroom and she just couldn't help but wave and nearly yell "Hello Professor" since she was her new Professor after all. She smiled sheepishly as she found a place to stand and tried to find other excited first years like herself.
Pant-pant-GASP-pant-pant.
There her breathing wasn't sounding like a deflating bag pipe anymore. That was a good thing. Sounding like deflating anything was never a good sing. Never.
"Err yes, hello dear," she replied, wondering why the girl was so loud and slightly out of breath. But nevertheless, Seren appreciated her attitude and lovely demeanor.

Once reaching the front row benches, the badger took a seat and waited for the lesson to begin.

After consulting her pendant watch one last time, Seren snapped the lid shut on if and tucked it under her robes, the chain still visible around her neck. "Welcome everyone to the first herbology lesson of the term, for those of you that don't know me, I am Professor Bentley, and I assure you, you are in safe hands." ... just in case some of the firsties were worried she was going to make them play tag with the Whomping Willow, or let-me-go with a Devils Snare. No no no, she wasn't insane.
"Now today we're going to be looking at how to care for a very unique and wonderfully diverse group of plants, but before we do so, I want you all to consider something." Having closed the greenhouse door and moved to stand in front of the group of students, she paused before continuing. "What are some of the things you do on a daily basis, to take care of yourself?"
OOC: The lesson has officially started, DO NOT announce your character arriving from this point onward, as they will be late, and late = trouble. The lesson will continue in approximately 12 hours. All responses will be appreciated, have fun!
