Ducks, fifteen in all and quite possibly already named, live in this pond. Go on, take a seat on the rocky ledge and dip your feet into the water! Rest assured, these ducks will not bite, but if you just so happen to have any type of bread or cookies on you at the time, the ducks have been known to take without asking.
Waylon keeps a good eye on the pond and the ducks, so no funny business.
Angie walk to the duck pound.she took off her shoes and put them into the water. She waved to person walking towards her.Hello i'm Angie and you are.
Jezzabelle had finally managed to get out of the common room and avoid staying in the girls dorms. She couldn't avoid being social anymore. She needed to move past everything that had happened and make a life for herself again. It was hard though, when she thought of her mother she would feel a tug at her heart. It would hurt and almost reduce her to tears.
She thought too much though when sitting inside all alone. So, here she was out by the duck pond just walking around. Her little kitty Boots hot on her trail not even paying attention to all the ducks that were surrounding them. She looked up and saw someone waving at her and she felt a little confused. "Hi Angie." Strange Ravenclaw girl waving at me. "I'm Jezzabelle."

"Sure," Jezzabelle said smiling. "I'm a Gryffindor and I am in my second year." Yep. Awesome lion right here. "What year are you in?"

Oh... Well, duh. Milton knew that. PFFT. Of course he knew that. Milton tried to keep his cool and pretend that he knew that's what the girl was talking about. "And you don't want to know more?" How rude. "I assure you, I could go on." Smirk. See, Milton really wasn't a humble person. He was attractive (duh) and he knew it.
"Beater. Obviously," Milton said, flexing his arms nonchalantly. Oh, yes. He had the build of a beater. Most definitely. And he was darn good at it too, in his opinion.
I I'm a Second year she smiled.Awesome Eagle here she laughed.I Really love to bake and cook what about you.so do have any siblings.
"I'm not big on cooking or baking. I'm a Herbologist in the making and no I don't have any siblings." Jezzabelle looked down. She never would get the chance to have siblings either. She felt the depression sinking in again and wanted to just cry. How was it she kept getting weak? She didn't want to just survive. She wanted to live. "Do you have siblings?"

But then he was complimenting her again, or rather her hair, but it was almost the same. Her blue eyes were on his, and she doubted that was a safe thing to do considering he was having problems voicing out his thoughts. Or rearranging them.
Then he made her feel terrible, "No, you shouldn't stop," talking, that's what she meant, "I mean, thank you," she smiled, sweetly this time as her cheeks held some rosy color. And no, it wasn't the heat.
That...was not what she meant, actually, because Hogwarts was growing on her too quickly, and so were the people in here. "Oh, I know, it's nice to have options, no?" for everything in life. Whether it'd be career choices or living quarters. There was one little thing in which having 'options' could bring unwanted trouble. And drama.
For a moment there she found herself wishing they could get that cup of hot chocolate right now, but if it was his company what she wanted more than that cup, then she'd stay here. "I'll make sure to find you, then," she kept her promises, so the first time she was feeling like taking a trip to the kitchens, she'll find him, wake him up, or whatever. He was going with her. His other statements got a nod as her face held that same smile. He knew so much, probably been here from year one.
Not even the ducks could distract her right now, though she'd been feeding them with the piece of bread without noticing. However, his hair did distract her for a moment as the sun gave way to the orange bits in it. THEN it happened.
Socially inept? Instant frown.
She didn't make an effort to try and conceal it. He didn't strike her as someone who'd be socially inept. And his lack of female friends couldn't be blamed for that. Boys tended to get along better with other boys, and make quicker friendships. The fact that she didn't know where this was coming from didn't help. It didn't help because it meant... she didn't have to accept his compliment?
He did it again.
Right when she was about to comment... he spoke. Faster and slightly more awkward than before, and all she did was smile. The 'GIRLFRIEND girl friends' part she didn't see coming at all, because she understood what he meant from the start. So, the smile was definitely necessary, this amused her. And now she knew far more about him than he probably wanted her to know. Her silence probably wasn't much help at all, but he hardly gave her the time to interrupt him.
By the time he said she was amazing, her cheeks were already that same rosy pink as before, only her eyes seemed to be less blue and more gray as she smiled at him and then readied herself for a...small speech. "Keefer? I don't think you're socially awkward... you just speak too much, not that I'm complaining or anything," it was cute, and amusing, and it made her smile, how could something like that be wrong? "And I haven't discovered those things, you just stated them," she nodded, her hair giving off silvery sparks that she couldn't see, yet she hoped it didn't become a distraction, "I am amazing, though, so thanks for that," her tone sweet and calm didn't match his former one at all, she was suddenly afraid she'd say the wrong things that could drive him away into that nervous state he'd been. As long as she kept talking she'll have his full attention, no?
It seemed she'd fed all the bread in her hand, because she found it without a crumb. She still had more to say, only she took his hand for this, or place hers on top of his, rather. "Yet you seem to be at a small disadvantage as I know more things about you than you do about me," would it help if it got a little balanced? "I have as many female friends as male ones, back in Sweden, at least," she didn't comment on the 'socially awkward' part for a reason, "I... I'm also single," that was some unnecessary information to share, but the disadvantage had to disappear, "My favorite color is orange," this was vital information for the next statement, "And so I like your hair, because when the sun touches it...," and her hand too, considering it had moved from his hand to his hair and brushed a strand of it that lay on his forehead, "...bits of orange flashes at me." Now they were even.
Well, that surprised him. "I shouldn't?" Cue confusion. Because he was pretty sure he was making a fool of himself. Unless she likes seeing me make a fool of myself. Somehow he doubted that. She didn't seem that mean. "Then you're welcome." He gave her an uncertain smile.
Well yes, options could be nice. But only in some cases. "Not if you have thirty people all show up for Chaser tryouts. Then you're overwhelmed by how to decide. So.. sometimes?" However, his fear was actually not having enough people show up. Then he was pretty much stuck with whoever came.
"Well good, it's a date!" Er.. "I mean, you know. Just.. let me know. You know where to find me." He was tempted to bury his face in his hands, but he bravely kept his gaze on hers. Apparently he just couldn't talk around her without being idiotic. She may as well get used to it.
Her frown made him unhappy.
But for some reason, she said he wasn't awkward. Seriously? Sweet! But she wasn't done. Speaking too much.. but she didn't mind. Alright. Her next statement made him literally open his mouth into a small 'o' shape. She was right, he had just said those things of his own accord. He tilted his head and scratched his scalp, wondering how that happened. Then he laughed, a full-bellied laugh that helped to relieve some of the tension he was feeling. Her affirmation of her own awesomeness amused him and somehow helped him feel a little less dumb.
That had been a nice little speech to help him feel more relaxed. But then.. he felt the soft touch of her hand, and the next thing he knew, his palms were sweating enough to drop a Quaffle. Why was she doing that? Did she want him to run away in panic? His eyes darted down to register the reality of this moment, and so he almost missed her next words. Gulp. Eyes back on her, he sat and listened to her, leaning closer to hear her better over the loud thumping of his own heartbeat. The fact that she seemed to have lots of male friends bothered him, but as he couldn't have told her why, he let that go. Her mention of her current relationship status caused him to sit up a bit straighter, but he also couldn't have explained that particular reaction. Orange.. why is she telling me this? Not that he minded, but that certainly hadn't been in the rambling he had done a moment before.
As quickly as it had come, the light pressure on his hand vanished. He barely had time to recognize the slight disappointment this brought when he felt her hand brushing his hair. In that moment, he had never before been more thankful that he didn't let his mother cut his hair over the summer. His eyebrows darted into his fringe, his gaze desperately attempting to see the act. Mental note: I should come outside more often when it's sunny. Yes, Marius. Apparently your hair does a similar thing to hers.
As she finished her speech, he swallowed through the lump in his throat several times. When he finally found his voice, he couldn't think of a single intelligent thing to say. So he settled for, "Well then. I, uh.. I guess we're even now!" He gave a nervous laugh. Then some Gryffindorness reckless abandon came over him and he suddenly had the urge to ask.. "Have you ever been to Hogsmeade? Because there's some awesome stuff there, you know." He didn't elaborate as to what that awesome stuff was. "And the first weekend is next month. You should go with--" The bravery suddenly left him and his eyes widened. Realizing he had to finish his sentence, he cast about for a person. Any person. "--someone." Fail.

No, he shouldn't. "You shouldn't stop talking, that's what I meant," else it would get incredibly quiet, and even if the ducks were nice enough...she couldn't bear listening to them for too long. Not while he was still here. And he was, so he better kept on saying whatever popped into his mind. Keefer didn't need any help in that department, he spoke his mind, alright? An approving smile graced her face to balance the uncertainty in his.
Those were easy decisions to make, though, you chose which ones did best, or the first 3 or 4 that were marvelous and they got in. That's how it worked. And he knew this, unless the whole process of elimination is what truly wears him out. Being Captain wasn't the easiest job, but the decisions were practical, logical ones. However, if everyone trying out was just as good as the other...then..., "Sometimes," she agreed, with another smile.
A date to the kitchens? It sounded like it was, but he was taking his words back almost every time he said something, it was difficult to keep track...if she actually didn't notice that what he'd originally meant to say was what counted. Her smile was a mixture of her previous sweet one with the slightest sign of a smirk. "I know where to find you," she finally said, one single nod was given with the answer. And she found herself wanting him not to take back his words.
Kate was definitely not oblivious to his reactions since he had her undivided attention. There were so many things he hadn't realized until she spoke, and that was all amusing. He genuinely didn't know. And she liked that. Not the fact that she took notice of more things, but of how brutally honest and slightly innocent he was. Kind of like West. So when he laughed, she felt relieved, that could only mean he was entering some relaxed state he desperately needed. They desperately needed it. She seemed to have it, now she was just passing it along, so relax, Keefer. Also, she pretended to be offended by this, but kept her smile, "Hey, I was serious," she said, poking him ever-so-lightly on the arm. She IS amazing.
He seemed to have taken all that better than expected, truth be told. His gaze was almost kept on her the whole time, which was a plus. Though her heart rate got faster as he got closer. But he listened. That should've helped him relax a lot more, right? Because he had very little to say, therefore, he could organize his thoughts.
Or so she thought.
Now it took him a little bit to speak, but once he did the widest of smiles was on her face, "We are!" that had been her intention all along.
Oh? Hogsmeade? Why did it sound familiar? "That's where the train stopped, right?" she said, and turned her face in the general direction of the Front Gate, the little village right outside of Hogwarts as there, "I haven't," she replied, and held her gaze a little longer until he spoke again, slowly turning back towards him. 'You should go with--'. At those words, her now gray eyes were instantly on his, and her heart was racing for whatever unseen reason. '--someone'. That's not what he intended to say. It wasn't until now she realized she'd stopped breathing. The old smile slowly returning, for she forgot to smile as well, "You should ask me to go with you, since you're the one mentioning Hogsmeade and all," her tone was playful, yet she really hoped he did, eventually, got to ask her, or she'll do that herself.

"Oh, well.. okay, then." There she went smiling again. He almost wished she wouldn't. Almost, but not quite. It sort of wrong-footed him every time it happened, though. Like, his brain froze for a second and he missed stuff. Quite unfortunate, really, but entirely bad.
Sometimes? Yes, that was correct. But perhaps she'd never had to make the decision to cut people from a team. It had been a nightmare last year. He had felt so much pressure to get it right. Looking back, he couldn't remember how he'd done it. But he must have done something good, because they had won the Cup. Man, I hope I can replicate that, he wished fervently.
He couldn't help but feel that he was confusing her. He resolved to wait a moment whenever something came to his head. That way he could hopefully avoid even MORE embarrassing slips. "Yes, you do. And.. sorry I keep changing everything I'm saying. I should probably start thinking before I speak, right?" Rhetorical question. The answer was CLEARLY yes. "And no, you're right! You're definitely amazing!" he clarified, elbowing her right back. Wait, do girls get mad if you elbow them? Is that just, like, a thing you can do TO a guy, but not back to a girl? He made a second mental note to owl Treyen straight away when he got back to the castle... which, on reflection, would probably be much later than he had originally planned...
So she agreed. They were even. And yet, he felt they weren't. She seemed satisfied, but he felt like there was so much about her he still wanted to know. She was almost being.. mysterious. Like, she only said all that after he had first told her the same information. It made him even more curious about her, if that was even possible.
He was a bit worried when she looked puzzled, but then she seemed to figure out what he was talking about and Keefer relaxed a bit. "Yeah, it is. Hogsmeade Station." He nodded. "There's a village a little ways from there. It's the only all-wizard settlement around," he said to her hair, since her face was towards the front gate. At his almost-request, he could tell she was... Upset? Angry? Confused? ..Hopeful? Never mind, he couldn't read her expression. At least until she said that he should ask her. The balloon in his chest began to inflate once more.
But as he promised her, he stopped for a moment to think before he spoke. What if we have to have Quidditch practice that day? I can't ask her this far in advance, cuz I may have to back out. This thought horrified him, causing him to bite his lower lip a bit. Then again, if she were ON the team, she would understand. But that wasn't certain. Although, she's probably really good. I mean, who would be better, right? Right. Yes, she'd almost certainly make the team. He was sure of it.
"I don't even know when the first Hogsmeade weekend is. And I can't really promise I won't have Quidditch." Which was true. "But, I am the Captain," which she already knew, "so I suppose I could just.. make sure we're done in time." His gaze dropped to her hand for a brief moment, then snapped back to her eyes. "So yeah, I'd love to show you around if you'd like." That's right, Keef. Just... play it cool.

"Quack."
"Rawwucck.." Astrid stuck his tail up and turned a buttery shade of white as he tried to get one of the ducks to play with him. One of the smaller ones swam up and stuck his beak out at the chameleon-newt.
Daisy tucked her feet under her and ripped a piece of old bread off the hunk in her hand and tossed it at the little duck.
It felt like only yesterday he was wandering the grounds in search of answers regarding his life. Everything seemed to be blending together and it was all going too fast for his liking. If it were up to him, Damien would have never gone to Hogwarts in the first place. Maybe none of it would've ever happened. The dreams, the visions --
-- The scar.
He still wore the sleeping charm braclet on his left wrist in an effort to cover it up. The hemp scratched and itched something terrible, but it was better than looking at it. Wondering where it came from and what it meant.
What it all meant.

"Rawwaackk..."
The Hufflepuff stopped and looked. Sounded like a duck -- an ill one at that. Walking closer to the duck pond itself, he noticed a familiar Gryffindor figure. And the discoloured blob must be that pet lizard of hers -- trying to imitate a duck?
He smiled at the sound, putting his hands in the pockets of his jeans and simply watched the two of them for a moment. Damien was thankful to have Daisy around -- ever since Isobel he hadn't really gotten close to anyone. Lockhart might have been the exception, but his Prefect was a year older and always busy with important duties. Things seemed to have changed when he met Daisy. The dreams started to get more vivid. The scar made an appearance. Everything seemed to get more complicated.
Even with the two of them.
He cleared his throat before walking up next to Daisy, sitting on a patch of grass next to her. He reached his arms back, propping himself up.

"S'nice out here," he said simply.
Daisy had heard someone crunching behind her so she wasn't too surprised to find that Damien had joined her. He had this radar for searching her out. Too bad she lacked the same radar for finding her friends.
"Nice clear sky," she responded tossing some more bread at the duck who gobbled it down. Astrid sniffed at it and then shot out a long black tongue and wrapped it around a crumb before the small duck could grab it.
"Quuuaacck" the duck said to Astrid.
"Rawwwwaccck!" the lizard growled back jumping around a bit. The duck fluffed it's feathers at the lizard.
Daisy and Damien sat in silence for a while. Finally Daisy put the hunk of old bread down on the grass and sprawled out on her belly. "So...."
Silence.
"You didn't come out here to just chat up the weather did you?" She squinted up at him through the sunlight.
It wasn't a question, even though she framed it that way. It was almost as if Daisy expected him to find her down here. And -- maybe he did mean to find her, but he wouldn't have known she'd be at the duck pond.
Would he?
"We never really get to finish any conversations that we start," he said, sitting up, pulling his knees to his chest and resting his arms on his knees. He started to fidget with the hemp braclet on his left wrist. "Our conversation in the library last year -- the ice cream shop in Diagon Alley --" What really played on his mind was the conversation they'd had in the library last year. When he first showed Daisy the scar. SOmething happaned between them that night, but her lizard snapped both of them out of their trance.
Probably a good thing too -- the last thing Damien wanted was to get Daisy involved with someone who'd hurt her --
He ran his right hand through his hair, resting it on his neck before turning to look at her squinted face in the suns rays. "I was hoping I'd find you here, Daisy," he confessed.

The first retort that came to mind was need help with homework or research? but she bit it back and kicked her legs back and forth. "Oh?" she asked raising her eyebrow at him. "Why is that?" He was true, however, that they never finish conversations. Something did always interrupt.
She wiggled her toes inside her shoes as she watched Astrid bounce back and forth while the duck fluffed up his feathers. She was going to say something else, but it seemed to her as if Damien had something to say - so she held her tongue.
It caught him off guard -- the way she responded to him. Very aloof and almost as if she didn't really care that he'd been hoping to find her. He raised an eyebrow in her direction, removing his hand from the back of his neck. "Of course, I was," he said with a sigh. "You're the only one at this stupid school who has actually heard me out. Listened to my crazy thoughts, dreams --"
He shook his head, focussing his eyes on the ground. "-- the only person who has actually tried to help me."
He glanced over at her then before standing up. "But if it's getting too much for you, I understand," he added, a tone of bitterness to his voice. Exactly the reason why he hadn't trusted many people in the first place. They're all about the friendship and then next thing you know they're gone.

"Sit back," she snagged his pants leg and pulled on it, "Down." She pushed herself up into a sitting position and waited for him. He looked...he looked....well, tortured if true be told. She shook her head. "Are you always so petulant?"
"Rawwwacckk!" Astrid sound came out of the reeds and seemed to agree with Daisy.
She sighed. "It's not getting to much for me it's just..." How does one tell someone they seemed a bit - one sided.
"What will you call him?" He needed a NAME. If it was a he. "You should find out if its a boy beetle or a girl beetle. Do you know how to tell?" West didn't, not with that kind of beetle at least. MAYBE the COMC professor might know? "You could give it a name that doesn't matter whether its a boy beetle or a girl beetle."
Yeah! That was his name! Even if it was longer than his first name. It was cool cos it was his dad's name and his sister's name. West held his hand up for a high five.
"Wow. I haven't seen one of them before. My dad just uses his wand." West eyed it with interest. Wait. "What's the water for? Are we gonna make soup?"
Oh yeah. If he was going to keep the beetle as a pet, it had to have a name. "I hadn't though about that" Or wether it was a boy or girl. "I have no idea, do you think it has something to do with color, like birds? You know, like the bright birds are the boys." But this was an all black beetle, so what did that mean for this little guy?
Yeah, a high five! Kaiden gladly returned the gesture, happy to have some semblance of normalcy.
"No way! you can use a wand to start a fire?" That was news to him. "But, this is how you would use the firestarter," he said, as the struck the two ends of the tool together causing a few sparks to fly off. Laughing at the soup idea, "Well, we could if you really want to, but we need a bucket of water to put the fire out when we are done."
He nearly fell over and might have gone into the water as she pulled him back down. Then the lizard felt the need to put his two sickles in as well. "Oh hush, you!" he retored in her pet's direction. "You don't even know what you're squaking about over there."
Damien glanced back over towards daisy, re-assembling himself. "It's just what, Daisy?" he asked. "I'd rather you tell me what's on your mind than thinking it is getting too much for you."

Better off knowing now, anyway.
"One sided?" She pinched the bridge of her nose. "And don't yell at Astrid...he's done nothing to you." She sat there while he readjusted himself on the grass. "I understand things bother you...and things are bleak...but have you ever focused on the good things?"
She let the silence hang between them for a moment. "Look, I'm sorry..." Now why was she being so captious? Who'd stuck the bee in her bonnet? "Maybe part of what is the problem is your inability to focus on the positive?"
"Oh, well.. okay, then." There she went smiling again.
For some inexplicable reason she couldn't stop smiling. And she only hoped he'd finally understood her words and what she meant, not find some hidden meaning behind it, because there was none.
He was going to agree with her own agreement over the former statement in regards to Quidditch and decision-making skills, of course. After all, he said it himself. So it was no surprise that he didn't counter her reply at all. Good. He was probably right, though. But why did it look like he was thinking something else that he didn't voice out?
Not that he had to say everything that came to mind...
Then, what? No, don't. "Don't apologize for that, though it tends to get a little confusing," she said, being entirely honest. He probably knew this better than she did, since the same thing ought to happen to him as he tries to reorganize his words once they've been said. As far as thinking before speaking...he probably should, but not to change his answer, only to make it gain some sense. Kate actually didn't mind this, he could say the first thing that came to mind. Perhaps this was the reason why she made no comments on it? She didn't want to influence him in any way, and she knew she could easily do this. Though, maybe she's began doing so without meaning to. "Thank you!" she beamed, and...did anyone notice she didn't say something remotely similar to him? She'd done so, but when they spoke of Quidditch skills, not on questioning skills. The elbowing she didn't mind at all.
No, they weren't exactly even. But when it came to what they knew about each other based on questions...well, they WERE even. Details were missing, though.
Oh! So it was! Now she knew where Hogsmeade was, and that is was an all-wizard kind of village. She found herself wanting to know more about what it was that surrounded Hogwarts. She knew the basics, of course, the boundaries, but beyond them? Besides the whole world? There really were no boundaries, after all.
Now he was over-thinking it. And she had no idea if that was going to be good or not, her eyes wandered off to their surroundings as he decided on an answer. Was it really too hard, though? No, because he began his speech only seconds after that, and her eyes landed on his again.
QUIDDITCH! Oh, she was totally looking forward to tryouts, and then, possibly, to games. So, the fact that he was placing Quidditch on top of everything was something her mind didn't consider, for it was busy focusing on the sport as well. Yes, he was the Captain, and he could also do that. She nodded, and the smile on her face totally belonged to Quidditch. Her mind did wonder what it was that caught his attention for a small second as his gaze turned away from her. "Sounds nice, yes," she nodded, her hair moving as well. Basically, if Keefer ever got around to really ask her, chances are she'll say yes.
"Did I ever ask you what your favorite team was?" or they never got around to that? Because she couldn't remember. And while her face didn't show, she didn't like one bit that she couldn't remember that, her memory was usually brilliant.
Oichi was done with classes for the day so she decided to head out on a little stroll to explore the grounds. She walked out of the castle and down the pathway and when she got the end of the pathway her eyes popped open. The beauty of the Hogwarts grounds took her breath away. And then in the distance she heard. 'QUACK, quack, QUACK, QUACK'. Ducks, are there really muggle ducs at Hogwarts? Oichi followed the sound to a quaint little pond with about 15 ducks. She had no idea Hogwarts kept muggle as well as magical creatures. These little guys reminded her of home and that made her feel so happy.

After the last class, Lea decided to wander around in the grounds a bit for fresh air instead of going back to the common room. Common Room was probably boring anyway. She was in an outdoors mood. So enjoying the nice weather, she walked towards the duck pond having in her little bag some stuff to feed them. Feeding birds were fun.
When finally she got there though, her dark brown eyes spotted another Gryffindor who had chosen to visit the duck pond instead of the common room. Lea's eyes narrowed a bit immediately and she smirked while approaching the other girl. ''Hey! What are they saying to you?'' she asked indicating the ducks with a head nod.

Oichi was enjoying her calm serene time with the ducks when she suddenly heard a a females voice and she jumped slightly. As her heart rate returned to normal she heard something about 'What are the ducks saying to you. She turned to the girl with a cheeky smile and said, "The ducks are saying that they don't apprectiate things sneaking up on each other.". She paused for a moment. "I'm kidding. They are saying it is wonderful to see all sorts of new people everyday. I quite agree with them. I'm Oichi by the way.", Oichi said holding her hand out for the girl.

Oh?
As the girl spoke, Lea raised her eyebrows at her trying to understand what she was going on about. Sneaking up on? Oooh...that made the little girl giggle. ''I like to sneak up on people.'' And who cared if the ducks did not like it? Well...Lea did not care and she...ah wait. It was all a joke.
Lea raised her eyebrows a bit more but there was a half smirk on her face as she listened to the girl's words on what the ducks were saying. ''That's interesting.'' then she said taking the girl's hand to shake it. ''And i am Lea. Nice to meet you Oichi...the duck girl.'' Hahaha...since she could understand ducks she was duck girl, right? Lea's eyes had a twinkle in them. ''What would the ducks say if a dragon came and ate them all!!!''
