"That is true," Adam said, remembering the rather thoughtful conversation he was having in his head moments ago before the collision so to speak. Adam smiled warmly as the girl seemed to relax at the mention of Lexi. Salander? "How exciting," Adam said with a genuine smile when she mentioned Lexi was her cousin. "I write for the Yearbook," Adam said with a little shrug of the shoulders. "Well...I did anyway. I'm graduating this year so I won't anymore, but my first year on the staff Lexi was on it and I met her then. I'm not sure I know who Salander is though..." Adam said, trying to think if he had heard that name before.

In a very Kennedy like fashion Addy bounced on the balls of her feet a bit and giggled. "Salander... he is her husband. He was in the same year as her and the Slytherin Head Boy or some such. Anyway isn't Lexi aMAZING?! She is an editor for a magazine now, actually. Has two kids. TWINS!" Addy exclaimed.

"What kind of stuff do you write? Sports? You look like you might like sports. What are you going to do when you leave Hogwarts? I can't wait to leave here so I can go home to the U.S.," she said in rapid fire and then sucked in a huge breath.

Having taken this route an infinite amount of times in the past, Edric could sense that he was nearing the stairs. He didn't risk using his wand for light to avoid being detected, in case there were any professors wandering the halls as well. So he had to guide himself with intuition and the sense of touch.

BUT THEN!
Just as the boy reached the moving stairs, a bright light shone upon him like a spotlight and the Gryffindor was busted. Completely startled, he turned around abruptly and lost his balance for a brief second, nearly falling back into the moving staircase. With his heart in his throat and his brown eyes wide as saucers, Edric looked directly into the light with honest shock on his expression before wincing away, the light burning his eyes that had become sensitive after seeing nothing but darkness for so long.

It took Edric a second to regain his composure, and when he did, it clicked in his brain just how familiar that voice had sounded. It was so… scolding. He could only think of one person who liked to play the role of scolding mother with him.

"Evs?" the boy turned back to the light with squinted eyes, vaguely making out the figure of the tall girl. As he recognized her silhouette, it became his turn to be indignant. "Merlin! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?!"

Evelyn's eyes grew wide and almost yelled out loud when she saw that he'd lost his balance for a second there and was about to fall down the staircase.. but, he didn't fall. THANK GOODNESS. She took a couple of deep breaths and calmed herself before she moved the light away from him. He looked scared enough as it is.. and it was probably her fault for shining the light on him like that BUT how was she to know it was her friend? Heh.

Was she trying to give him a heart attack? "No, I'm not.. but you managed to give me one. Thanks." Seriously, the boy was just.. she didn't even know what. HUH. Although, she was still feeling a little guilty about the other day. She shouldn't have snapped at him like that.. and she knew she should apologize but now wasn't the time. "Eddy. What on earth are you even doing here!?" You have some serious explaining to do, dude.

And before Adam knew what hit him the quiet girl was suddenly talking. A lot. And rather quickly, so Adam did his best to keep up, his attention on the girl and nothing else. In fact someone probably could have hurled a heavy object at him right at this moment and hit him, and Adam wouldn't have even noticed. "Well that's great for both Salander and Lexi. I'm glad that she's happy and that she's doing so well. You'll have to tell her congrats for me on all fronts," Adam said with a warm smile. Hopefully Lexi could somewhat remember him. They had only met that one time after all at that one writers party...

"Well I do enjoy Quidditch, but I actually have been writing about the various classes in past terms and what the focuses of them were," Adam said with a little shrug of the shoulders. He had meant to get around to writing about Quidditch but it just hadn't happened in time. What was Adam going to do when he left here...err...that was a good question. "I'm still trying to figure that out." In fact Adam had been trying to figure that out all year and he kept coming up blank. "Oh...you're from the states?" Adam asked excitedly. "I'm from the states as well. Actually coming to Hogwarts my fifth year was the first time I had ever been out of them. Where in the states did you come from?"

Addy promptly placed a hand over her mouth and then leaned down placing her books on the floor before sending them zooming to her dormitory. Now she had free hands. "I am sorry... I don't usually talk very much, it's just that is the first time I have met someone who knows my family. It's comforting." And truth be told there had be SO little comfort for her in Scotland OR in Hogwarts. "I will tell her, though. She will greatly appreciate that I am sure," she said with a nod as her cheeks flushed.

Addy nodded as he spoke and smiled widely. "How very Ravenclaw of you to write about the classes and not something easier," she said with a wink. She had him pegged all wrong.

OH another American!! "I am from Chicago, Illinois, actually. How odd... I am in my fifth year and just transferred in. I am not keen on Scotland, honestly. It's too cold and BLAH. But I have traveled quite a bit. Dad wanted to see a lot of things and took me with him," she said with a nod.

Adam glanced at the books that were zooming to the Ravenclaw Common Room for a moment before he returned his gaze to Addy. He smiled at her warmly. "Well I'm glad that you feel like you can talk to me. And I know the feeling...sometimes a school this big and so far away from what you know can be a bit lonely and isolated." Granted Adam didn't really have a home life that he was missing, but there were certain parts about the states that he did miss dearly, and at the moment with the situation between him and his two best friends Adam was feeling pretty lonely.

Adam chuckled. "My one friend was actually pretty surprised I wasn't in Ravenclaw given my love of reading and learning. I guess it just goes to show that each house has its exceptions."

"Chicago is gorgeous," Adam said with a nod of the head. "I did a lot of traveling around as well due to my parents' profession as real estate agents for muggles. I think I've been to all but eight or so of the fifty states?" Adam said, furrowing his brows slightly as he tried to mentally calculate if that was right. Eh...it really didn't matter that much. He had traveled. A lot. "Is your dad a wizard as well or is he a muggle?"

"Oh, I'm sure I did," muttered Edric sarcastically as Evelyn accused HIM of giving HER a heart attack. Yeah right! She wasn't the one who nearly fell down the stairs! Hmph. But then the Hufflepuff prefect was asking what he was doing there. At that very inappropriate time.

Edric went from indignant to a little more… uneasy. It wasn't until that moment that it clicked on him that Evs was not just a Hufflepuff and not just his friend… she was a prefect as well. She could totally rat him out if she wanted to. And Eddy was NOT going to be responsible for Gryffindor losing points. His classmates hated him enough as it was.

"I was… just on my way to the boys' bathroom. The one at the dormitories, er… broke down," lied the boy, staring at a particular spot just by Evelyn's feet as if it was the most interesting thing on earth.

Evelyn raised her eyebrows when the boy muttered something but she decided not to comment. She turned off the light and replaced the wand back in her pocket before she leaned against the wall and folded her arms. Why on earth was he up this late and roaming the corridors, especially when he wasn't really allowed to?

"Do you honestly expect me to believe that?" Because that was flimsiest excuse ever. She hadn't heard anything about toilets breaking down. SO. He was clearly lying..

And... she was suddenly was struck with the most amazing idea ever. Something that was going to make that boy stop calling her Casper. Heh.

"Yes," Edric replied simply to Evelyn's question, copying the girl and folding his arms as well in a daring manner. She HAD to believe him! C'mon! He was Eddy. He NEVER lied. Except… right now. And obviously he wasn't very good at it.

But something in Evelyn's expression made Edric a little uneasy.
Maybe it was the way the dim moonlight was falling upon her face, but she looked absolutely evil. Beautiful too, but mostly evil. Exactly the kind of character he would not want to stumble upon when he was doing something that could cost his House points.

"What's on your mind?" asked the Gryffindor warily as Evelyn just stood there looking evil and smug. Whatever she was thinking, he just knew it would come to his disadvantage.

"NO. You know I'm a Prefect, right? And, the fact that I can get you into trouble?" Heh. This was going to be epic. Obviously, she would never EVER get him into trouble..but there was no harm in frightening him, right? And, even though he TRIED to look indifferent, she knew that he was scared. Exactly what she wanted.

What was on her mind? Evelyn tilted her head slightly, her face showing how amused she was. And, evil. Of course. "Nothing." And, a smile lurked around the corners of her lips, before she continued, "...or something." Um, no. She had absolutely no idea why she was being so idiotic but she was enjoying it. Eddy, you better watch out.

Edric looked a little taken aback when Evs gave him a simple 'NO' followed by a sweet little reminder of her powers. The boy cringed to himself just very slightly, though he tried to remain expressionless. "I know… you don't need to remind me," he confessed, pausing for a nervous moment before adding, "But. This is between us, isn't it?" RIGHT, EVS, RIGHT?!

And then Evelyn began being all mysterious, not giving Edric an exact answer of what was going on in her mind. He just furrowed his brows at her with confusion. WUT. "Evs, are you on something?" Just wondering.

Aww. The boy was actually scared. Evelyn wasn't sure if this was a good idea... NO. She just had to go through with this whole 'being evil' act. Heh.

"Well, that actually depends.." OH GOSH. This was not Evelyn. Really, people! "If you don't want me to say a word about this to a professor, you have to promise me something... and I think you know what that something is." Cue evil grin.. although, she was pretty sure it didn't look all that convincing because she was starting to feel a little cold now.. and she wrapped her arms more tightly around her.

She was pretty sure she looked REALLY creepy since she was all pale and she had a smirk on her face. Heh. Pooor Eddy. But, this was a payback. For Casper.

Edric listened attentively as Evelyn explained that, if he didn't want her to say anything about this little outing of his, he'd have to promise her something. And apparently, he already knew what that 'something' was.
He did?

Edric put on a thoughtful face for a second before letting out a conflicted sigh. "Evs, not that again. I told you already, I'm not snogging you," he said, as if this was something they'd gone over 893748 times before. Except they hadn't. Because Eddy had just made that up. He'd just trolled Evs BAD. OOOOOOHHHHHHHH!

The immature Gryffindor laughed to himself for a moment before stopping abruptly as he realized two things - one, he could attract attention causing so much noise; and two, he looked too human laughing so joyfully. Gawsh. He was supposed to have no feelings. He cleared his throat and put on a serious face.

"No, but really… I don't know what you want me to promise you."

Evelyn was really cold and like usual, she'd forgotten to wear her jacket.. she was such an idiot at times. She moved closer to the window and looked out as she waited for Eddy to answer. Wow. It really was beautiful outside...

SNOGGING!? Evelyn turned to look at Eddy, surprise written all over face and the surprise turned to anger. "You-you-you-you..." Evelyn spluttered, her face slowly turning red. She took a couple of steps forward and pushed him against the wall. Jerk. "That's really not funny." She glared at him, when he started to laugh. "I know you want to snog me.. I mean, I am beautiful but that's never going to happen. So, you can keep dreaming." She could tease him back, right? Heh.

Seriously? He didn't know? After the way they'd argued the last time? Well, she took a deep breath and said, "I want you to promise me that you'll never call me Casper and that you never spread it around.. if you want to me to keep quiet about this."

Laura was going to find Anya even if she had no idea where she was, she decided to start on the Seventh Floor near to where the Gryffindor Common Room was, she couldn't wait to speak to Anya she had loads of news for her friend, who hopefully wouldn't be avoiding her again and she wanted to make sure Anya was okay after freezing up in class.

Edric bit hard at his bottom lip to keep himself from bursting back into laughter as Evelyn shoved him into the nearest wall. Geez! What was up with these girls getting all tough?! First little Donkey Ella, then Little Demon Alice with her shoves into the pond, and now Casper Evs. Ironic, really, how Edric was often more of a victim than a bully. I mean, look at these girls!

What Evelyn went on to say, though, definitely surprised the Gryffindor boy. He hadn't expected her to play along at all. It just seemed… un-Evelyn-like. Maybe something happened to Evs during the nighttime? Maybe the moonlight was making her crazy? Whatever it was, he didn't mind. This evil Evs was kind of fascinating. Intimidating, but fascinating.

"Well you're modest," said the boy sarcastically as the pale girl in front of him went on about being beautiful and him wanting to snog her. He watched the way the moonlight continued to reflect off her porcelain-like skin, and smirked. "Y'know, Evs…" started Edric slowly, his voice dripping with malice, "With the moon reflecting off your skin and all… you do look pretty ghostly." He made a dramatic pause. "Casper."
BAAAAHAHAHA!

But as if on cue, right at that moment Evelyn explained that she wanted him to never call her Casper again. The Gryffindor looked honestly disappointed. "Is that really what you want?" he asked.

Evelyn was surprised again.. at herself. Because, she never behaved like this. NEVER. But, it wasn't her fault. Edric was SO annoying and she just wanted to get back at him. Although, she did open her mouth to apologize but decided against it. Apologizing would not show that she was weak and totally un-evil like.

Modest? "Hey, I'm gorgeous and I know it. Why should I be modest about it?" Frankly, she really wasn't that pretty but she kinda liked messin' with him. She raised an eyebrow when he said that she looked pretty ghostly.. Waiiiiit a minute. But. There. He said it. UUGHHHH. Why was he so annoying? WHY!? She took a couple of deep breaths. Calm down, Evelyn.

Now.. to mess with him. Heh. She wasn't done. NOT AT ALL. With a small smile, she walked towards the boy until she stood right in front of him. "You are quite handsome, you know." Don't laugh, Evelyn. "I know I just said that you could never snog me and I shouldn't say this but.." She leaned forward and whispered into his ear. ".. I think we'd make a really good-looking couple." DON'T LAUGH, Evelyn. She knew that her lack of sleep was making her do stuff like this BUT she really wanted to mess with him..and annoy him. Heh.

"Yes." Evelyn said, simply. "Agreed?"

Anya giggled lightly and smiled. "Is that code for you won't think about it at all?" And he wondered why he was stuck with the crazies.

"Or. You know. You could just not have official titles." Go on a few dates with a girl. That way he could find out if he liked the girl or not. And if he did, then they could be boyfriend / girlfriend.

It made sense to her.

Anya grinned. And people said Milton was mean. He wasn't. In fact, Anya was pretty sure that Milton had a sweet nice side. A secret side. One that she was getting to know.

She popped another gummy bear in her mouth. "You sure you don't want one?" she asked offering him another. "They're good."

Edric could hardly believe his ears as Evelyn went on about being gorgeous and knowing it. What was this girl on?! Whatever it was, she'd better share. But seriously. Since when was Evs so confident and cocky? It was strange, that was true, but there was something appealing about it. And as the new!Evs began to grow frustrated again, the boy smiled. Aww. Was he annoying her? Was wittle Evs getting annoyed with her Gryffie friend?

Suddenly Evs was all up in his face.
Edric tried to take a step back in instinct, but he was already against the wall. Now Evs was being all smiley and evil-looking again. AND THEN.

THEN.
A bomb blew up on Edric's face in the form of the most unexpected of comments.
He was 'quite handsome'? WHAT?!
Well. I mean. It's true. But why was she saying it?!
Evelyn was on to something.

What followed was even MORE shocking than what had come before. Now Casper was going on about them - as in HIM and Casper - making a good-looking couple.

MERLIN.
Edric couldn't even register whatever Evs said after that. His brain was in a fog. But the boy was smart, and he knew that Evelyn couldn't have possibly meant a word of what she'd just said. However, if she was just saying it to mess with him or because she'd had too much butterbeer before bed, the boy wasn't sure.

"Casper, if I didn't know any better, I'd think you're inviting me to snog you right now," said Edric, eyebrows raised at the girl.
Could this possibly be an offer?

... Ah. "You catch on fast," he mumbled with an amused expression. She was smart.

Not have official titles? Milton pursed his lips and thought about that for a moment. "Soo... Just go around and snog ever girl in sight? I could live with that." He nodded thoughtfully. Even though he was pretty sure that's not what Anya meant.

She was grinning. It was... weird.

Milton eyed the gummy bears in her hand. It was actually kind of tempting. He shrugged. "Why not?" And he took one and popped it into his mouth. Hm. Very... gummy.

Um. Evelyn was really starting to regret this. Yeah, she looked like she was waiting for him to snog her but.. she didn't want to give up. Not now. The poor boy looked so freaked out.. that it would be fun if she continued putting on this act for a few more minutes. But, he actually wouldn't snog her, would he? No. At least, she hoped not.

"Do you want to?" If hadn't been for the fact that she REALLY wanted to pull this off successfully, she would have puked. This was just too awkward and weird for her but she wasn't going to let that show.. especially since he called her Casper. AGAIN. "We're the only ones here.." Evelyn said, softly. "You're not scared, are you?"

Yeah, she was probably going to a little too far BUT she wanted to see how this would play out. Heh. She knew that he was scared and that was exactly what she wanted. Oh gosh. She needed to have her head examined in the morning.. although, she was really enjoying this. It felt so good to get back at him. So freakin' good.

Edric wasn't sure he liked his position very much. Here he was, sandwiched between a wall and an evil, teasing Hufflepuff prefect. Looking for a way out, the boy took one giant step sideways. It was at that moment that Evelyn asked if he wanted to snog her. What?!

Okay, that was obviously a trick question.
Edric could either say yes and ruin Evs's act, because she would totally freak out and jump out the window as soon as he said that; or he could say no and risk offending her and having her get mad at him. No matter which way he went, he lost. This seemed to happen often with Evs. The poor Gryffindor boy simply could never win. u__u

Then Evelyn was reminding him of the lack of witnesses around and pushing the boy by asking if he was scared. At this point, Evs was just pretty much daring Edric to snog her. Or kiss her, to put it a little less blunt and thoughtless. Poor Eddy wasn't sure where to go from here; this new Evelyn was really throwing him off the tracks. She was… a completely different person. It was a little troublesome because it made it difficult to predict how she'd react to whatever decision he made. Not only that, but he had no idea anymore if she meant the things she said or not.

Basically Evelyn was one huge brain-twister right now.
But she wasn't really Evelyn. So. The following was acceptable.
Without a word, the Gryffindor closed the distance he'd created between himself and Evs and - cue in the Edrilyn fangirl screams - kissed the girl.

Anya smirked a little. She was just... observant.

She giggled lightly. "Well... not every girl. But yeah. Why not? If they'd let you." Attraction was an important part of a relationship, right? "And maybe you'll find a girl where it'll bother you if she does the same." That was a good sign that you liked someone, right?

Jealousy was a natural trait.

She smiled as he took one. "You like them? They were left in the hospital wing for me. No name though. I guess someone out there just wanted to make sure I woke up to something that made me happy."

OH, YES. Evelyn bit her lip from smiling when she saw him step to the side. He was scared of her. YES. It worked. She must be a really good actress for him to fall for that act. Heh. She was so proud of herself and also a little disappointed for behaving the way she did. Believe it or not, even though she was thrilled that the plan worked, she was feeling a little guilty that she'd put him through that. Yeah, she needed to apologize.

Evelyn looked up to find him looking at her.. or rather, staring at her. Um. She started to feel a little uncomfortable. "Eddy, what are you----"

Her eyes grew wide when he suddenly stood really close to her. Waiiiit. And, before she could process what was happening, she felt his lips on hers.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOH. Without hesitating, she found herself kissing him back..probably because he was a good kisser This was quite enjoya-------

WHAT WAS SHE DOING!?!?

Evelyn pulled away from the kiss and stared at him, at a complete loss for words. Honestly, she should be SO mad at him for kissing her.. but how could she be mad when she'd kissed him back as well? UGH. This was wrong.. and the fact that she'd actually enjoyed the kiss was even worse. She turned away from him finally and stood near the window, resting her head on the glass.
