Come and send a note or letter using your own owl or any of the school owls. Owls line the walls in nooks and on branches. Pellets and belladonna berries are on the floor.

Yey, she couldn't sulk at him now, so she had to be happy with him all of the time. YEY for no more pouting.
NO. She couldn't be saying this. The words he was hearing could not be true. Gaping a little, Darwin didn't even know what to say. "B-b-bu-but that's how much I missed YOU." he protested. He hadn't been able to word it, but he speedy little speech had done that for him. It was like she was reading his mind. Which wasn't possible.
Was it?
"BUT that means that you didn't miss me MORE than I missed you... and it means that I didn't miss you more than you missed me." Was that even possible? Darwin didn't have a clue. He was FAILING right now. FAILING and FLAILING because he was confused because they couldn't BOTH miss each other more.
Oh, his poor, tiny little brain.
Why wasn't this argument (well, not argument, because they were besties-for-life-with-no-takesies-backsies-or-swapsies so therefore they didn't argue) simple? Why was everything so complicated these days? His classwork and his friends and his family and his MIND were all so confused. He was going to blame growing up, and nearly being a teenager and not being in Primary School anymore. Blergh.
He sighed, and blew his hair out of his face. "I do say so. And I'M cootie-free, too," he said. Therefore, it only made sense. Well, to him at least. Although maybe this idea was an odd one - he didn't have a clue where it had come from, he just knew that if there was anyone he wanted his first kiss to be with, it was her. Because she was his best friend.
Oh, it didn't even make sense in his mind.
"Of course I like you. You're my bestie. Which is the point here." Or it kind of was, anyway. "Sureee you don't." Was he JEALOUS of Alec? NO. Well, maybe a little - but not in that way. He didn't LIKE Brooke, not in that way. He didn't like anyone in that way. But if she liked Tackler boy more than she liked him, Dar, then she'd probably replace him. And that would mean they weren't besties-for-life-with-no-takesies-backsies-or-swapsies. The whole point of being so was for life, so she couldn't replace him... could she? Either way, he didn't want to be replaced.
Now that she was asking, Darwin didn't really know what he'd gotten himself in for. "Uh, yeah I am. I guess," he managed, before leaning down and pressing his lips to hers.
Brooke beamed at her best friend, she hoped this was her winning. She felt quite proud of herself if she was honest and she was going to hold onto that honesty feeling and be proud with herself for a little while, it wasn't very often she managed to win one of her and Dar's disagreements so now that she had she was going to hold onto it with all her might. "And no more pouting for Dar either." if she wasn't allowed to pout he wasn't allowed to pout, that seemed fair didnt it ? Brooke thought it was fair.
Brooke's eyes widened as Dar said that was how much he'd missed her. "But thats how much I missed YOU!" she flailed her arms about. Was this possibly ? Could neither of them win this one ? "So, if i missed you that much..an..and you missed me that much, that means we .." Brooke paused, trying to process all this maddness in her head. "..We both missed each other the s-s-sam-same amount ?" there was always a clear winner, ALWAYS; Brooke preferred when it was her of course, but even when it sadly wasn't her it was Dar. There was ALWAYS a clear winner.
She wanted to be the winner, how could they both of possibly missed each other the same amount ? It must've been like some sort of best friend telepathy they had going on 'cos they were coolie kids.
The blonde giggled as her best friends hair blew up and landed swiftly out of his face, she liked that blow-y technique. It was like that muggle-y hair dryer thing but without the noise. "Good!" she giggled, she liked Dar being cootie-free it meant they could hug and hold hands and play tag and everything whenever they wanted, all things that people who DID have cooties wouldn't be able to do without spreading their cootie-grossness.
"Good, im glad you like me. I like you too." Being besties would kind of be impossible if they didn't like each other- unless they LIED. Which would equal in them both having no presents at christmas for lying. "I DONTTTT!" she demanded, crossing her arms over her front as she did so. "Why do you care if i do anyway ? - not that i do cos i dont!" she quickly added, pfttt. Her and Alec were super hero friends that was IT! Liking people was gross. yuckie! She didn't need to like people, not in the way Dar was talking about. She was perfectly happy just liking people as friends how she already liked them.
Brooke was kind of caught off guard by Darwin's lips touching hers, but after a moments thought she kissed him back. Her cheeks burned up a little bit but she wasn't sure why. After kissing him she let go, looking down a bit and fiddling with her robes. "Uh..." she didn't know what to say. Itwassortanicethough, in a yucky way.

"I don't pout anyway, it's for girls." Darwin immediately denied. Of course, he did and he knew that, but he wasn't admitting it to Brooke. He sulked when he got into arguments and when people were mean to him, but the boy wasn't going to admit to Brooke that he pouted. He did agree, however, that he wouldn't do it again - it would be mean of him, if he'd told her that she wasn't allowed to. Hypocritical, even. And she was his best friend, he couldn't do that to her, he wasn't mean enough.
There wasn't going to be a winner?! Or a - what did you call them if it wasn't really an argument? His eyes widened as hers did, and he gasped slightly. "We must have done!" he exclaimed. Although he wasn't sure how it was possible. He'd been SURE that he'd missed her more than she'd missed him because no one could miss anyone more than he'd missed his best friend. It just couldn't be. "Maybe it's because we're besties-for-life-with-no-takesies-backsies-or-swapsies." he mused, nodding his head slowly, his eyes still widened in surprise. "Which means that we can miss each other the EXACT same amount." He didn't know how it would work - he wasn't that clever. Maybe telepathy, or some other magic thing.
Meh, it was just cool because they were besties. Grin.
"Very good," Darwin agreed with a nod. "It means that I can hug you and play best friendy games because neither of us have cooties." And, according to this conversation, it also meant that they could kiss. He gulp nervously at the though. This had better not change things between them, he couldn't help but think. She'd better not think it made him her boyfriend or that he liked her, because he really didn't. Not in that way anyway. That way was just... weird - she was Brooke.
He grinned again, "I hope so. Otherwise it'd be pretty hard to have you as my bestie." Gosh, why would they have been close if they didn't like each other? It was an odd, pretty silly thought if you asked Darwin. They'd be pretty useless as friends if they didn't like each other, let alone BESTIES. Silly people if they thought that! Now however, he was frowing slightly. "I CARE because you're my best friend," he explained. "And you should be able to tell me everything. AndIdon'twantyoutoreplaceme." Okay, so the last part he muttered, because it made him feel selfish. But what on earth was he going to do if she got a new best friend? And he liked Alec, he did - of course, the boy had tried to save his life. It hadn't needed saving but that wasn't the point - he just didn't want Brooke to not be his best friend anymore, because he wouldn't want another one.
"That was... weird," Darwin said as he pulled back from Brooke. His cheeks were a little flushed, and he smiled sheepishly, admitting to himself that, yes, it had been weird, but not in a bad way. He wasn't inclined to do it again, but it had been nice, and not as yucky as he'd thought it would be. And at least he knew that he wasn't going to catch anything, because it had been Brooke, and she was cootie-free.

Calling for my demons now to let me go ↽
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Oakey came into the Owlery all secretive and such. He moved his way over to the writing table and placed down a piece of parchment and removed a quill from his bag.
It was odd, as he was writing this letter his owl, Valentine had not swooped down to join him? Where is that...
He spoke to soon. Just as he began talking to himself a large Eagle owl flew down from a high perch and landed on top of his head with the squeaky mouse toy he got him years ago. At least you can't peck me with that in your beak. He spoke to his owl reassuringly.
Oakey then got back to writing his letter.
SPOILER!!: Secret letter
First owl sent;
I'll infiltrate Merdog's Hut, and look for clues of corruption
We'll meet next on the playground in one week and compare our findings.
-Smiles
As Oakey finished up this letter he tied it to Valentines leg. Guess what you lucky bird, you don't have to go far. He looked around the room and whispered to his owl quietly. Send this to Erin Heyman, in the Ravenclaw common room.
Valentine stretched his wings and swooped out of the owlery to quickly deliver the first letter.
After having an odd conversation with Alyssa at the courtyard, Kennedy made his way to the Owlery. A ton of questions were running through his mind when he suddenly stopped at the entrance.
Hold up.
His mother is a muggle. How was she going to know about the past Hogwarts' Head Boy? It was also clear that she didn't like magic. Right about now he was hit with the feeling of stupidity. He's been living in the Wizard world for far too long that he almost forgot that his own mother was a muggle. Then again, the Head Boy did have his last name, and how many people here have that surname? None. Just him.
Hmmmmm...
Asking wasn't going to hurt, so why not ask his mom? Exactly. He took out his sketch pad and ripped out a page and quickly scribbled down his message.
SPOILER!!: Letter
Quote:
Mom,
How are you? I'm fine and don't worry I didn't break anything during Quidditch.
Anyway...you see, there's a strange rumor of a student with our surname. A student who attended Hogwarts a very long time ago. I was just wondering...maybe you know something? I know it's sort of stupid because...you know. I'm going to do my own research here, but I'd like your input.
Please write soon,
Kennedy
He had refused to write muggle because he felt as if she was insulting her because he was labeling her. After he was done, he rolled up the parchment and tied it with a spare string from his bag. He whistled the call for his father's black eagle owl. The dark creature perched itself on Kennedy's shoulder, it's claws digging into his shoulder.
"Take this to mom as fast as you can," he said. This was the first time his father's owl would be delivering something to his mother. Kennedy had stopped using godfather's owl ever since he moved it with Wayne. So, he hoped the eagle owl wouldn't scared the daylights out of his mom.
