Come and send a note or letter using your own owl or any of the school owls. Owls line the walls in nooks and on branches. Pellets and belladonna berries are on the floor.

Zhenya got up really early to go on a walk and clear her head. It didn't work. She somehow made her way going towards the Owlery before she remembered she had written Raven a letter. Putting her hand in her pocket, it was still there. She ran the rest of the way and was very puffed out when she reached the Owlery.
Rosie, her owl, swooped down and landed on her head. She nibbled at the top of Zhenya's head affectionately before hopping down onto her arm. She tied the letter to her Rosie and pulled out three long stem red roses and held them out for Rosie to eat them. She gave Zhenya a nibble kiss onher nose before flying off.
Zhenya stood there for a few moments, motionless, looking out after Rosie who had already disappeared. She couldn't take it any more. She missed her best friend, and wanted to tell her everything that was happening. Her entire family life had changed, and now she was sure she was in love but didn't have her friend to talk to. And she didn't feel comfortable talking to anyone else about it, except Dima... and he wasn't there. She missed her family and Raven so much!
After a while she took a rattled breath in and started to cry. She backed away and collided softly with a beam, then slid down it. She put her arms around her knees and sobbed softly into her arms.

Jezzabelle had decided to at least try and reach out one last time, although somewhere deep in her heart she knew this wouldn't be the last time she reached out to her mother. She had also decided that she really should write her father and tell him that she was safe and adjusting back to school life just fine and there was no need for him to worry about her.
Two letters in hand she finally made it to the top of the stairs. It felt like she had been climbing forever and that the stairs would just keep going but when she finally found that there were none left she was grateful. Looking around in the higher areas of the owlery she tried to find Ella...but Ella wasn't there. She was with her mother. In Scotland.
She felt the tears begin to sting deep in her eye and burn in her throat. So instead she grabbed a school owl. She gave him the two letter and told him the places he had to fly.She also rewarded him with an owl treat and then watched as he flew away.
Leaning against one of the beams she felt a sob shaking her all the way through and felt the tears fall down her cheeks. How had things gotten so complicated so fast. It was almost as if the day she turned seven everything had been destroyed. At nine someone special had been taken from her and at age eleven the one thing she thought would last forever ended. Without warning the sob became a shriek and she felt more tears joining the ones that had already fallen down her cheek and clung to her eyelashes. If something bad was going to happen every two years, she was terrified to turn thirteen.
Turning on her heel she made a run for it. She didn't need to be up here crying and she most certainly didn't need anyone seeing her and asking her what was wrong because she knew for certain that she would never be able to form a coherent sentence and be able to properly explain everything. It was hard though, everything around her was blurring thanks to the stupid tears and on the way down she stumbled a little.

Elliot sighed. She had three different letters to send. the first one, the longest of the three, was neatly folded and addressed to Darius Morganzo, her father. Regardless of whether he was busy, or if he wanted to hear more of her incessant whining, she didn't care. She was stubborn; she wanted to send him this stupid letter! She beckoned one of the owls who caught her eye, a tawny one with greenish-pupils. Elliot thought he looked quite nice.
"Take this one to my father, wherever he is. He's on 'vacation' right now, though...so you're going to have trouble finding him..." she told him in a hushed voice. The owl seemed to understand, or so Elliot thought he did, and she tied the dainty letter to her leg. She let the owl fly away, and she found herself waving...MERLIN'S BEARD...stop being such a SOFTY. you. are. not. a HUFFLE. she scolded herself.
She scowled, and gestured to another school owl. She really needed to get her own. She always asked for one, but her father didn't want the same owl to be constantly seen going to where her manor was 'concealed,' according to Darius. It did look suspicious...but Elliot so wanted her own owl. All they had at home was an crup, Moze. Poor thing was getting too old to even play anymore.
Elliot scowled to herself and huffed a bit as the bird seemed less enthused than the last one. He nipped a bit at her finger. "Stupid thing, I can pick out another owl who will be grateful to do my bidding!" she told it, annoyed, and the bird merely glared. Elliot rolled her eyes and roughly tied the next two letters, one for her mother and the other for her sister Dani. She flicked the bird's wing, and it gave a sharp HOOT of irritation. He flew off, shooting Elliot one last look of disgust as it flew away.
Lousy pester...maybe I don't want a stupid owl, afterall.

It was obvious that she was becoming slightly insane. Jezzabelle wasn't exactly sure what she was doing back up here but she was back up here. The letter she had sent her mother had been sent back with no sign she had read it. The only sign that she had acknowledged it was the return to sender scribbled on it.
How was it that she had completely ignored the daughter reaching out to her. How was it that she could so carelessly send the letter back without a second thought? Jezzabelle reached for another school owl and gave it a treat and a letter with the instructions to take it back to her mother and to not return without a reply.
She moved away afraid to watch it fly away and return to her as if it was an instant message or something. Instead, she sank to the floor of the owlery and curled up into herself. No one would bother her. No one had even reached out to her since she got back. maybe she put on the I'm okay facade a little too easy but she was conflicted. She didn't want to burden people with her problems but at the same time she was begging for someone to reach out and talk to her.
She rested her head on her knees and felt herself break some more. She was beginning to hope that a person could only break so much into it was done and over with. When did the full healing process actually begin? When did everything return to normal? She didn't know but the shaky breath and stinging eyes told her that it wouldn't be tonight.

Kennedy made his way to the Owlery with three letters in his hand. Two of them he was sure that he wanted to send, but the other, he wasn't so sure. He side stepped owl droppings avoiding them as best as he could until he reached the table where he set the parchments down. Soft weight landed on his shoulders and he looked up and grinned at his godfather's owl. Kennedy refused to use his father's owl...who was glaring at him from a top bunker.
The thing almost resembled Wayne too.
Shudder.
He gave the owl on his shoulder a treat and then tied the first letter on to his leg. It was to his mother. She had been right all along and now he wanted to let her know that.
SPOILER!!: Letter 1
Mom,
You were right about her. She broke my heart like you warned me and I didn't listen. You can go ahead and say I told you so.
I'm sorry.
- Kennedy
His hands trembled a bit after tying it. He really did miss his mom and regretted that the last time he saw her he gave a cold shoulder. But he had been angry then and if she was angry with him now and didn't write back then he'd understand.
After making sure his first letter was secured on the owl's leg he began with the second one. He didn't care about that one. Really, it was stupid and him acting like a spoiled brat, which he wasn't. He just really wanted to annoy his father. The man was still keeping him in check at Hogwarts and the least Kennedy could do is annoy him.
SPOILER!!: Letter 2
Wayne,
I want a real, fire breathing dragon for Christmas.
- Kennedy
P.S. I want a car too.
He smirked when he fastened the letter on the owl's leg. He wondered how his father would react to him asking for a car. The man detested anything muggle related and Kennedy knew that. He imagined Wayne's eye twitching. Ha! But the man was trying to buy Kennedy's affection so why not take advantage of that? He really did want a dragon and he was a teenager, of course he wants a car.
If he had requested this to his mother then she would have given him a plush dragon toy and as to the car she would have said, "Take up a part time job and save up for it." He knew her too well to know that and he wouldn't mind that because his whole life he's been working hard to get what he's wanted. Still is in the present.
Kennedy frowned at the third letter. He wasn't sure if he wanted to go on with this one, but he wanted answers. While biting his lip he began tying the letter on the owl's other leg.
SPOILER!!: Letter 3
Mrs. Stewart-Quinn,
I hope you're doing well. The reason I'm writing to you is because of the business you and my father had during the summer. I know it was a potion and that potion was used on me. Would you please tell me what it was. I know I shouldn't be asking, but things have been happening lately and its driving me crazy not knowing what my father did to me. Please.
- Kennedy Escalante
The day before it had taken Kennedy eleven ink splotched parchments to get the letter right. Well, as right as it could get. He didn't want to come off as rude. That was the last thing he wanted. But he wasn't sure if she knew of Aurora and him splitting up so he left her out of it. Kennedy didn't want her to get in trouble with her mother. Yes, he still felt the need to protect that girl, but that would pass...one day.
After making sure all three letters were properly tied on the owl's leg he fed it a treat and watched it soar away. He stood there for a while imagining his mother's response, Wayne's twitching eye and Mrs. Stewart-Quinn's impassive eyes. The sky began to darken and he took that as his cue to leave.
Damon walked in quietly, carrying his first letter to go home to his father. He looked at it, rereading it one last time before beconing to an owl to come take it.
SPOILER!!: Puck's letter
Dear Puck,
School's been going fairly... well, terrible so far. I told Taylor the truth, and you'll be happy to know she turned me down. Whole summer's worth of planning wasted... Eh, what're you gonna do? Oh, um... Let's see a total of ten arguments between me and Maxwell so far. I got a howler from Rowan... Be sure to tell him I regret nothing! I miss home already, and Grimalkin has managed to give me multiple new scars with his claws... I'll be sure to write you more about how horrible this school is next week.
Love your son,
Damon Ashllyn-Darkmyr Mercada
Oh! P.S. Minerva and I are dating. So there has been one upside so far.
Derrick climbed the steps to the Owlery until he reached the top.He had a letter in his pocket that he was going to send to his brother. He looked around,The whole room smelled of Bird Droppings and Feahters. His owl wasn't that far away from,JJust a couple of metres away from him so he walked over to hit and patted it on the head.He slowly pulled out his letter and slowly opened it
The letter
Quote:
Dear Will,
Things have seemed real lonely around here,
I've met a few people and a couple of the Professors,Things aren't going the best,
I'm hoping to go for Quidditch this year but you can't get everything you want,
Roland has already given me afew scratches
I'm sorry this is sort of short but I've got lessons coming soon,
Talk soon,
Derrick.
P.S-Say Hi to Mum and Dad for me.
He closed the letter and attached the letter to the Owls leg.It flew away and Derrick left frowning.
Sarah made her way to the owlery to send a letter for the first time. She had never had achance to write to her mother. She took out the letter she had written and read it over agein to make sure it was right.
Quote:
Dear Mother,
The air is cool here at hogwarts. In fact rather FREEZING. Has Mary the cow calved yet? Please do not lend out ANY of my books to anyone. As when I return home for a visit I will read them, and want them to be clean. Are you missing me yet . I am learning lots here, I have already had herbology, DADA, Ancient Runes, Care of Magical creatures, transfiguration, 2 charms, Ancient Runes, divination (rubbish, yet it was fun coz we got to dress up), flying and History of Magic lessons. They also offered a seminar on Alchemy and they let first ears like me attend. It was so enlightening. I remeber how Grandma was telling me about it that in 1991, when she was in Hogwarts, the philosephers stone was there. Yet no one knew. In CoMC, we watched a DRAGON hatch! So beautiful! In HoM we have to make a protest. I wanted to ask for earlier lessons, as therefore the days wil be longer. If we start earlier, we finish earlier. It didn't go down well. I guess I, the farmers daughter am the only one who like getting up with the sun. There is a bookclub sort of thing -the kind we read about in muggle books.I have been doing all my homework and earning points for my house. GRYFFINDOR! So happy to keep it in the family. Now in our family, there are 4 of us kids Gryffindorians, and only 3 boys that are Ravenclawrians. Anyway, I better send this off and head to bed.
All my love,
Your Princess, Sarah
P.S. please send brownies. Supplies have run out. Or alternatively send recipe, m,aybe I can get the kitchens to make it!
P.P.S All the students here are nicerm some nicer then others. No - no best friend yet.
Sarah hastily wiped a tear from her eye and call her Snowy owl Angelina over. Angelina looked expectantly as Sarah tied the letter to her claw. "Be back soon" she whispered, "You remind me of home.". Angelina 'winked'back and flew off. As Angelina disappeared into the setting sun, Sarah turned around and made her way up to the tower.

Zhenya had to do it. She just had to. No matter how much it would hurt, she just HAD to. She slowly walked up to the Owlery with tissies, lots of parchment, a muggle pen and all of her photos that Gary had taken for her. She had copied a few of them as well, like the one of her with her new boyfriend. She wanted to send one copy home and one to Raven. Would she be interested in her news, when her own life was rocky right now? She was prepared, and found a small hiding place in the Owlery. When she sat down, she felt a light thud hit her head and move, and knew her owl had come down to say hello. Rosie hopped onto her shoulder and snuggled into her neck and hair, and Zhenya let her.
She decided to do the easy one first. She had a long to put underneath the parchment, and she began her first letter.
Quote:
To Dima,
How is everything at home? I hope the babies are going okay and mum and dad too. How is Archer? And how are you? Have you got a job yet? Going to college? Tell me what I'm missing!
School is great this year in most ways, absolutely awful in others. I made the quidditch team again, as a beater! Tell mother and father for me. We have our first game against the Puffs, but they were really good last year so I don't know if this year's team is better or not. Who knows. If we lose again I think I'll pull out for next year. I could be unlucky.
I also... I have a boyfriend. Don't tell that to mother and father though please. We started dating on Halloween! And his name is Gary, he just moved from Canada and he is really nice. I've enclosed a photo of us too, I hope you like it.
My friend Desiree also came back to Hogwarts! It was such a surprise seeing her because I thought she had left for good, but she only went to New Zealand. It's really good having her back especially because... well Raven isn't well. They said something about a brain cancer or something. They said she won't be able to live much longer and I don't know if it's true or not. Can you ask dad about it? I'm really scared Dima, what if she goes? I can't bear it!
I can't write any more, but please respond.
Love Zhenya, the best sister!
She folded it up and wrote his name and their address on it and put it to the side. Now for the tricky one. How could she do it? She pulled out the crumpled up piece of paper that Raven's letter was written on and read it again. She started crying as she read it and knew that she couldn't write this letter any other time. It had to be now.
Quote:
To my friend Raven,
Thank you for being the best friend I have had for these two years. Leaving my family to go to Hogwarts was bearable with you there. If you weren't there... I don't know, it would have been hard. I remember all those times we had fun. Like, changing out hair colour, and eating those lollies the first night of being here. How funny were those nights?
I can't believe you have something that serious. I didn't know how to respond to your letter, and I'm sorry. I just couldn't believe it. My best friend is seriously sick? I've sent an Owl home and asked my brother to talk to my father about it, and maybe he will have a cure or something. As soon as I get an Owl back I'll tell you. He can go and see you and cure you! Whatever it takes we can give you back your life and you can be happy and healthy. It just has to work, Raven.
I wear the bracelet every day and I love it. Thank you Raven.
I don't know if any good news is something you want to hear right now, but I actually met someone this year. He's a boy in fifth year named Gary and... well he kissed me and now he is my boyfriend. Can you believe it? I can't! I'll send a photo of us and you can tell me what you think. Also, he helped me take photos of the Lake at Hogwarts for you. But guess what? We snuck out at night and took them in the moonlight. It was spectacular and there's LOADS of photos. I just hope Rosie can carry them all.
Please send me a letter back to tell me how you are and if you're getting better.
Raven, you're my best friend and I miss you
From Zhenya.
Zhenya had written it. She had done it. She Folded it up and wrote Raven's name on it. Hopefully Rosie would be able to find her. She gave them to Rosie and told her exactly where to go with them, and watched as Rosie put her head on Zhenya's cheek and took flight.
She pulled her knees up and cried into them for what seemed like hours.

Elliot clicked her tongue impatiently as she mounted the steps up to the owlery. She had her bag slung over her shoulder, and slipped into the owl-land smoothly. Heehee.
She glanced up at all the owls, a small frown appearing. She disliked owls. The family owl hadn't come for ages, so she needed to use one of the school's terrible owls...yikes. The blonde pulled out from her bag two HUG sacs. One had the name Dani written neatly across it, the other Sam. Her two sisters. "Okay, owls, I am gonna' need two of you...and strong, too. I have mounds of chocolate to send home..." she called out to the owls. She had only done this because she was alone...she didn't much feel like explaining to other people why she was talking to owls.
Two owls flew down, both looking a bit stern, but Elliot gave them a face. "Don't you DARE peck me, you hear? Now bring these to the manor..." she told them sharply, as if she were ordering her house elf around. She tied the two bags of candy to their legs snugly. The birds flew off in an instant, and Elliot watched them fly away, a custom now.
She was about to turn and leave, when she heard a cry...

"Um...EXCUSE ME? I thought I was alone...is anyone here?" she called out, sounding a bit annoyed. Now Elliot looked like a crazy fool, talking to owls and such...she hoped that the cry was real, too, or else she might really be crazy..
she looked around, but didn't see anyone. "Am I crazy?" she muttered darkly to herself.

Keefer bounded up the steps two at a time. His eyes met with a room devoid of human presence. All the better for composing a letter. He swept aside some debris on the floor and took a seat, back against the wall. Pulling out the necessities, he poised the quill over the parchment, unsure of how to start. Well, the name. Treyen. That was easy. But what to say besides...?
He set to work, the erratic scratches soothing his confused mind. Every so often he got up and walked around to keep the blood flowing to his extremities. As he finished his letter, he blew on his hands to warm them up, gazing at the finished product.
SPOILER!!: Keefer's letter
Treyen,
How are you? Is life at WADA treating you well? We're all missing you here, especially the Quidditch team. I had a bout of spattergroit for our first match against Slytherin (which we lost), so we had a sub Captain. She's a seventh year, just came this year from Sweden. Kate.
I was actually writing mainly to get your advice about her. I'm uh.. a bit under practiced in the area of girls, and you.. well, we both know you know more about them than I do. She just confuses me, man! Every time I see her around, my stomach ties in knots and I can't manage to string together a coherent sentence. What's with that? It makes me feel like an idiot, and yet I can't help but try to be around her. And what's with that? I accidentally put my hand on top of hers the other day and she didn't, like, pull away as if she was angry or surprised or anything. Does that mean she wanted me to do that? What'swiththat? I'm so confused, because I think I like her but she terrifies me because I always end up looking like a fool in front of her.
So basically.. I think I need to know how to ask her out.
Help?
Keefer
Well, I didn't hide anything that embarrasses me, that's for sure. It was a mark of how desperately confused the Captain was that he even considered sending this letter in the first place. But Treyen had to know all the facts, or else how else could he help? Satisfied, the redhead called down a large tawny and carefully tied the missive to its leg. Not a second after it was secured, the owl took flight, winging its way towards WADA. As he watched it go, Keefer couldn't help but hope the response would be swift.
So, it was colder than she had expected it to be up here. Her sweater barely kept out the cold wind from keeping her from being FREEZING. Brrrrrrrrrr. She shivered and fumbled with the letter in her bag, did you know, it wasn't that easy to seal a letter with gloved hands? Succeeding in this endeavour, Glenn muttered, "Yes." She could have done it faster by taking off her gloves, but why would she do that? It. Was. Cold. Up. Here.
She had promised over the summer to write to Treyen. Here was her letter. Owls, why are you edging away? Glenn approached a school owl, that flew away from her to another higher up perch. Hmph. She blew the hair out of her eyes and sneaked up slowly behind a spotted owl that still hadn't flown away from her and attached the letter artfully to it's leg. Well, for all her sneaking the owl could have at least TRIED to fly away. She patted it gingerly on the head and said, "To Treyen. I ah- hope you know where he is?" Luckily the owl seemed to know, and flew off out the window.
SPOILER!!: Glenn's Letter to Treyen
Hello Treyen,
How's WADA? Is university way harder than Hogwarts was? I bet it is.
Weird stuff is happening again at Hogwarts. Nothing unusual, right? Lewis froze in Potions and I've heard that Professor Williamson and Kurumi have frozen before as well. They both unfroze after a while but it's still quite... weird. They just kinda stopped moving for a while.
Third year is strange. A bunch of girls are liking boys and dating them and... eww. I don't think I'll ever have a boyfriend. I'm not meaning you, but generally, boys are quite weird. You and Thomas (My brother. I can't remember if I told you about him) don't really count as boys, you're like, normal.
Sooo, that's my year at the moment. I'm write you again if something interesting happens (Which will probably happen, I mean, this is HOGWARTS)
From,
Glenn.
Glenn watched as her bird flew into the distance until it disappeared. There, she had sent her letter. Glenn had another letter in her pocket, but she wasn't going to send it today. Besides, she couldn't stand the cold up here. Glenn hurried down the staircase, she definitely preferred cats to owls.
OWLERY! SHE MADE IT! Carigan gave a little sigh and a small smile. She went to one of the windows and sat herself onto the sill. She pulled out her satchel purse she had brought with her and pulled out a roll of parchment and one of her nice quills and a pot of silver ink, the kind she had bought in her first year to send letters to her sister. And in both of these years she had never sent or received a single letter to or from her sister. She rolled open the parchment, and wrote.
SPOILER!!: The Letter
Dear Reagan,
hi. It's Carigan, and I think this letter is long overdue. I really miss you Reagan. It been far too long. Even last summer we barely spent a speck of time together. I feel like I'm losing you. I know I've made a lot of new friends, and I seem to talk about them all the time when I'm at home, but it doesn't mean they're replacing you. Did you make friends at your school? Have you learned to speak Romanian?
I... sorry this letter seems awkward already. I just really miss you. And I miss mom and dad.
I.. guess I'm just really sorry I've been.. well... ignoring you. I just...
Miss you,
Carigan.
Carigan rolled up the letter and tied it in a small silver ribbon before scratching out Reagans name on the outside of the scroll. Carigan searched out an owl who looked strong enough to travel a great distance and when she found one she gave it a little pat on the head and gave it a little owl treat before tying the letter with the silver ribbon to the owls claw.
The owl rubbed it's head on Carigans and she watched it fly out the window and into the big open sky.
Annabelle was walking up to see Charlene. She missed her and hasn't seen her in so long. As she climbed up the steps, she saw all the owl pellets and mouse skeletons. It was kind of gross but hey an owl has got to dispose somewhere. She held the letter to her mom in her hand. She found her snowy white owl next to an barn owl. "Hey Charlene." Belle said with a smile. Her amber saw her and she nuzzled her head on her hand. "I got a letter for you, are you up to send it?" she asked.
Charlene hooted in a dignified sort of way to let her know she could count on her. "Good girl, now this goes to mommy ok?" Belle said as she petted her. She tied the letter to her leg and brought her to the window. Charlene nibbled on her finger to show she understood the task.
SPOILER!!: Annabelle's Letter
Dear Mom,
Things at Hogwarts are going great! I am just chilling out, starting my homework as usual. You know how much of a hard worker i am. But i am starting to get nervous for my OWL'S. I just do not know how i am going to handle the stress. But in my lessons, i learned to transfigure a cloth into a nice hat. I am actually wearing a fox hat right now that i made. I will show you when i get home for the summer. I recently had muggle studies and i learned about fairy tales and how they have been sugar coated for years. In History of Magic, i learned about Atlantis and if it a real city or not. That just sums up what i have been learning. Well i gotta go now and start some homework and not have it piled up. Talk you soon!
Love,
Your little Belle
As Charlene took off, she admired her wing span and was just amazed at the beauty of this school and the animals. After she couldn't see Charlene anymore, she went down the stairs and headed towards the Whomping Willow to sketch some nature.

Milton had a letter in his posession, as most people did when they went to the owlery. It was one of the shorter letters he had written, which could only mean one thing... It was for his father. His father rarely got letters from Milton, but when he did, they usually never answered his questions. Except that, no, Milton would not be going to his house for Christmas, Easter, OR summer.
With a scowl on his face, Milton entered the drafty owlery and whistled a certain tune for his owl. In a few seconds, Tommy, his owl, fluttered down and landed on his arm. Milton rather liked owls. They were obedient. And graceful.
Tucking his letter into his pocket, he grabbed out a treat and held it out for Tommy to nibble on. "Good stuff, huh?" It was probably a mixture of dead barn animals. He didn't know; he didn't ask when he bought them. Yum...
Anna was smiling as she climbed the stairs to the owlery. She held her letter carefully, not wanting it to get snatched away by a sudden gust of wind. It was to Derick, her friend from Beauxbatons that she hadn't spoken to in a very long time. And he had written her first! How sweet.
As she entered the owlery, Anna's gaze lifted to all the owls. She liked owls. She kind of wished she had one, but that would have meant not bringing Milly to school, and Anna would have missed the cat too much. And anyway, she didn't mind using one of the school's owls.
She whistled, trying to get an owl's attention, then finally dropped her gaze to ground-level. And her smile disappeared, because she recognized that shaved head. "Milton?" Her voice was almost a sigh. Really? Why was he here?

Milton heard a whistle from behind him, but didn't turn around to see who it was. He was busy feeding his owl. But it's when he heard that too-familiar sigh, that his head turned around. Anna. Lovely. "Well, don't sound so happy to see me." Sheesh. What a downer.
When Tommy finished snacking, Milton turned to face his step-sister. The owl 'hoo'ed at her. "Where have you been hiding, anyway? Have you finally decided to live in a cave for the rest of your life?" That's what it seemed like. Though it was nice not having to try and avoid her.
Milton eyed the letter in her hand. "Who's that for?"
Of course, Milton's first comment was sarcastic. Anna sighed again, closing the space between them and standing in front of him as an owl landed on the ground by her feet. She looked down at it, fiddling with her letter for a second before looking back up at Milton and his owl.
"I've been doing schoolwork." She answered his question indignantly. "That's what good students do." Hint hint. She was mostly trying to justify her last few lonely weeks, mostly because Milton was right. She kinda of had been in a cave for the past... while. Well, sort of. She'd spent a lot of time in the library, and it was dark and cold like she assumed a cave would be.
She saw his eyes go to her letter, and her own narrowed into a defensive sort of expression. "Nobody," she said, clutching it to her chest.
Which was probably a sure-fire way to let him know that it was for somebody.

Milton snorted a little bit. Because it seemed like she assumed that he didn't do schoolwork. "I do my schoolwork, thank you very much. It's not hard to balance schoolwork and a social life at the same time." Did she even have friends? "Well, maybe for you it is."
... Nobody? Milton saw the way she held that letter to her chest. He narrowed his eyes. That definitely wasn't a letter for home. She wouldn't have acted like that. "Liar. Who's it for?" he asked again. And she WOULD tell him. Yes.
Anna shrugged one shoulder just a little when Milton said he did schoolwork. Yeah, she'd seen him in classes. She was just fairly sure that she did her work better than he did. Because she was focused, while he was too busy flirting with anything that moved and doing the other things that Milton did.
But, hey! That comment was kind of uncalled for. "I can balance!" She said, standing on her toes to try to make herself look taller and more sophisticated and like she could rightfully balance school and friends like Milton claimed he could. Hmph.
She watched his eyes narrow, and looked down at the letter to avoid his gaze. After a second, though, she looked back up at him, her own eyes narrowed. "Why do you care so much?" HMM?

She could balance? Milton snorted. "If you can balance, then tell me about the last time you had a conversation with someone for more than ten minutes. And it can't be related to school." Because that was the easiest thing to talk about, considering they were all stuck in a giant castle together. There was plenty of that nonsense to talk about. Milton raised an eyebrow at her as she tried to make herself look taller. "You're failing," he stated plainly.
... Care? Pfffff. "Whaat? I don't care. I'm merely curious as to why you're so possessive over this letter." His suspicion was growing. It wasn't a boy, was it? It better not have been a boy...
"The last time I-" Halfway through that sentence, Anna stopped short. The last time she'd had a conversation not about school? ... She couldn't answer that.
She couldn't. Answer. That.
Anna's eyes widened in horror when the reality came to her. She was boring. Sure, she probably knew that already, but now it was obvious. She hadn't had a real, interesting conversation with anyone for a very, very long time. Probably not since she'd talked to her Beauxbatons friends. Because nobody here had - wait.
"Will!" she exclaimed, rocking back onto the balls of her feet with a triumphant smile. Honestly, she couldn't remember what they'd talked about the last time they saw each other, but she was sure it wasn't about school. Because Will was crazy. "So like, a few month- uh, a whileagoIguess." But still. STILL.
Oh, and he didn't care about the letter? Sure. "I'm not - I am not possessive." She argued, holding the letter out to her side as if to prove her point. "It's just to my friend, if you must know." There, prying step-brother, was your answer.

"Honestly I don't get the point of writing. You'd think my parents would be tired of me by now but noooooooo I start getting complaints and it's only been....uh....okay maybe it was time to say something." Quite frankly the kid probably looked quite crazy with a quill in one hand while a cat perched happily on his shoulder and an owl sat roosting on his head. But hey! This was Will we were talking about.
Will turned his gaze to the cat, frowning slightly. "You think they'd go with 'I'm doing great, bug off.'? Yeah it's short, simple, and to the point."
Just as he was writing the G for great, he was startled to be attacked with the sound of his name bouding through the Owlery. Honestly....he had kept himself pretty secluded avoiding people because this place was a nut-house he'd only talked to one person and....oh please Merlin no....
Will slowly peeked around the corner, an odd puckered look on his face as he spotted the source. The owl stretched it's wings making an odd screech sound. "Yeeeeeees?" he called out, wanting to suck it back in. Oh no. It was Tomato. And some other...guy. Ugh....
