Harvey laughed as she gently dope smacked her head.. yeah this was something he hadnt done in a long time eating with someone.. he then nodded "Of course its distracting.. yeah I agree.. it has a lot of great company.. like YOU. So see that table can be very distracting.. thats why I dont spend all my time there or I would never get anything done" he chuckled .. yeah if he sat at that table.. he would not be able to get any work done cause he would end up being caught up in all the conversations that usually went around the table.. sometimes involving him. He smiled "Yeah you could try it.. although I am sure you get your work done in the common room.. so then you wouldnt need to eat and work at the same time" he smiled. yeah he couldnt see her leaving her work to the last minute that would result in her having to do that.

Ella joined in on the laughter, feeling pretty silly at the moment. It was fun, just laughing and kidding like this. She felt herself blush at his comment on great comment and looked away from him for a moment. Those complements! They always made that happen. It was so embarrassing. "Right, I suppose it would be hard for you to get anything done with all the company and chatting and such." She said, pretty much summing up his point. Bleh. She was still feeling all red from his previous complement and couldn't think of anything better to say. Shake it off, Els. As for her getting work done in her common room, that's usually what happened. "I tend to go to the study tables in the common room. Alyssa and Minnie are usually there too. It's nice to have the company." Yup, it certainly was nice. "Though food and studying sounds great too."

Harvey laughed as she joined him before she went all red and looked away from him.. he wondered why she looked away.. because she blushed? well just cause she was blushing didnt mean she had to look away.. he didnt mind that she blushed "You know dont have to hide your face everytime you blush" he smiled.. he then listened to her point "Yeah exactly! see you explained it much better than I did.. I just rambled on.. while you went to the point!" he smiled.. man she was smarter than he was.. she had said it one nice point.. he wondered why she found him a good person to be around.. he then listened to her point about the common rooms "Ah ok.. yeah it gets kinda lonely at ours cause usually nobodys there.. so its good that Alyssa and Mins are there to keep you company. " he smiled.. yeah with company you got work done much better than if you were alone.. he then looked at her "Its does? I didnt know that it did!" he said to her.. he did cause he had to just to keep up with the work.. but maybe it sounded good to others.

Really Harvey? REALLY? You can't just comment on a girl's blushing to get her to stop! That just calls attention for the blushing and makes it happen for longer! Ella sighed, turning to look at him. "I really can't help it. It's so embarrassing. I bet I look like a tomato right now." Though she guessed it was better than looking like broccoli, yeah? Her smile returned when Harvey said he was a rambler. "I understood you perfectly Harvey...and besides, I ramble sometimes too." Like when she was super excited or had eaten tons of candy. As for his common room being lonely. "That's no fun. You should have a study buddy or something! Or I'll study with you in the library sometime if you want." The second year nodded and laughed softly at Harvey's response to her thinking food and homework was a good combo. It really was.

Harvey watched as she sighed turning to look at him and talked to him.. he shook his head "No.. no you dont look like a tomato.. maybe a little more red and then I can say you do" he chuckled and saw her smile return "You did? I guess cause you ramble too.. you understood me prefectly" he smiled.. yup.. he couldnt understand why he rambled sometimes.. was it cause he was nervous or something.. or did he just try too hard to get his point across. he then looked at her as she said it was no fun "Oh! I dont have a study buddy.. you would? well that would be fun studying with someone.. that way I cant get distracted or anything.. cause we are in a study place.. those are less distracting anyways. " he smiled as she nodded at his response.. it was then that he realised he had forgotten to eat in all the Ella-blushing episode.. so he took a bite.. even though that Ella-blushing episode was a fun one.

Ella smiled. "Okay, well I guess if I don't look like a tomato right now, it's all good." She said with a giggle. She nodded as Harvey went on about the rambling. "I guess that must be it." She added with an encouraging smile. The rambling was actually kind of cute. Not that she would ever tell Harvey that. Anyway...what were they talking about again? Right. Study buddies."Yeah, I think it might be fun. Plus I can help you if you don't get something and maybe you could help me too."
As the second year watched Harvey finally take another bite of her food, she realized she hadn't eaten hers. Whoops. She ate another couple of forkfuls and washed it down with some pumpkin juice. YUM.

Harvey chuckled "Yup its all good right now" he smiled.. and nodded "Yeah I think so too.. though I try not to ramble but still end up doing it.. but its good that I am not the only one that rambles" he smiled.. then a thought came to him.. had he rambled on AGAIN?! he hoped it didnt seem that way.. what was he some kind of rambling machine that just keeps on rambling? it sure seemed like it. His thoughts were broken as Ella was talking to him.. he smiled as she said it would be fun "Yeah I agree it might be fun.. yeah thats sounds like a good idea.. studying together.. good idea Ella" he had a big smile on his face at her idea.. and he had to admit that was a good idea.. "That way we can hang out and get some work done at the same time! " he smiled.. yeah it was quite efficient.. doing two things at the same time!

Ella simply laughed as Harvey continued to ramble. It was quite adorable the way he just couldn't stop. Did he even know he was doing it? Just in case..."You're doing it again, Harvs." She said playfully, grinning at him. The second year was happy to hear that he thought studying together was a good idea. It might have been awkward if her was all like No, Ella! "Good. Sounds like a plan then." She said with a nod. It would be fun, studying with Harvey. She hoped he thought so too. Taking another sip of her butterbeer, she looked around at the other tables, wondering what the other students were talking about and thinking about. "You know Harvey, I really wish I could read minds sometimes..."

Harvey just looked at Ella as she told him he was doing it again.. "I am? " he questioned as he thought about it.. he realised that he had been doing it again! "Oh my gosh.. I am sorry I didnt even realise I was" he said with complete disbelief expression on his face "Just when I dont mean to ramble I do.. like some sort of rambling machine!!" he shook his head he then looked at Ella "Thanks for telling me.. or I might have continued" he chuckled.. yup he was like some sort of rambling machine he was. "Yup it does sound like a plan" he smiled.. yup.. they would be study buddies.. he had never had one so this was kind of exciting to have a study buddy. He then ate a little more as he saw that Ella was looking around the Hall he wondered why she was looking when she came out with a random little statement.. which was valid.. even he wished it "Yeah.. I do too." especially when someone glares at you and you have no idea why they are glaring at you "It would be really fun to see what other people are thinking or who they are thinking of" he chuckled.. imagine that.. knowing if people had crushes on each other or were attracted to each other cause you read their minds.

Ella continued to laugh softly and nodded at his question. Yup. He was doing it again. When he began to apologize, the second year's eyes grew wide and she shook her head. She hadn't meant to make him apologize. "No, Harvs it's okay, really. It's actually kind of-" Don't say it! "cute." She said it...WHY had she said it? Way to make things awkward, Ella. Best to play it cool. "Rambling machine...heh. That's funny. Sounds like a country song." Nice recovery, El. And then he was thanking her for telling him. Hm. "Don't mention it, really." What are friends for, if not to point out their friend's quirks?

The comment about reading people's minds had been random. Ella knew this. It was just watching all of her classmates made her curious. Some seemed happy and others sad and she just wished she knew what they were thinking at the moment. It could be kind of fun. She raised an eyebrow as Harvey said it would be fun to see who they were thinking of. Not that she disagreed, that would be good too. "Yeah, it might be useful to know who someone was thinking of."

Harvey looked at her as she nodded to his question and he watched her go wide-eyed and shake her head.. he looked at her and smiled when she said it was ok.. he then waited to see wha... cute? she was thought it was cute? "Me rambling on and on is cute? I guess I never thought of it that way." he said smiling as he thought about what she had just said.. she then went on talking about it being a country song .. he chuckled and nodded "Yeah it does sound like that doesnt it.. a country song. " he smiled.. yup it did sound like it. He smiled and nodded "Yes it would be.. and then you could tease them about it.. cause you know who they were thinking of and the could be teased for it.. it would make it more fun" he chuckled.. yeah like for example if Ella liked someone then he would be able to find out who she liked and be able to tease her about liking that someone.

Well, at least Harvey was taking the whole cute comment well. He didn't seem mad or anything by it, more confused. Ella could deal with confused. "Yeah, it kind of is." She said truthfully with a shrug, a hint of a smile on her face. It was always better to tell the truth, yeah? Even if it was a bit embarrassing. She laughed when he agreed with her about the country song. She had only said so to change the subject but now that she thought about it, it actually did make for a very good country song title. As for Harvey's suggestion about teasing people, Ella looked at him in mock disappointment. "WHY HARVEY, I NEVER expected such a suggestion from YOU!" And she frowned at him. She kept up the act for a minute or two before breaking down into giggles. "J-just kidding, Harvs!" Gotcha. "It would be fun. Like I could tease you right now if I knew who you were thinking of." The second year said playfully, wiggling her eyebrows.

Harvey smiled as she agreed with her own point at him rambling being cute. Suddenly his smile dissapeared when she seemed to be disappointed and maybe a little mad at him for even suggesting a thing such as teasing others.. he didnt know what to say.. he was just having a bit of fun.. maybe he shouldnt have said it.. he really had to watch what he said.. he usually ended up saying the wrong thing.. just then she burst into giggles.. Harvey relaxed and chuckled a little as he shook his head "Ella!!! you.... you had me going! I was actually feeling bad that I had suggested such a thing" he chuckled as she said she was kidding and he was still shaking his head.. he then chuckled as she wiggled her eyebrows.. "Well it wouldnt be much teasing now.. since it would be my girlfriend" he smiled a little.. as he looked at her.. yeah Ameliah!!.. thats who he is thinking about.. his girlfriend.. he wasnt allowed to think of anyone else.. right.. cause he was with her.. and thinking of someone else would be not good.. unless "Well maybe I am thinking of my friends.. but I guess you cant tease me about that either." he smiled.. yeah.. his friends.. Mins, Justin, Ronnie.. Ella

Watching Harvey feel bad for his comment was quite amusing though Ella did feel a little guilty about tricking him. She was happy when he relaxed, seeming to realize the whole thing was just a joke. She smiled at him, pleased with her work. "I got you good, Harvs. Usually I'm not good at tricking people." The second year usually laughed or broke character before she had a convincing act going though not this time. Score! "Thanks for being a good sport." It would have been awful if he had gotten mad because of it or something. The blonde nodded when Harvey said he was thinking of his girlfriend. Merlin's beard! Ella had forgotten about Ameliah. "Oh yeahh. Well I could still tease you about that though...like about you lovvving her." She said half-heartedly, smiling at him. Alright so she was being a bit immature at the moment. She was only doing it to fight that weird feeling she now had in her stomach. What was that anyway? Strange. Really strange. And then he admitted to thinking about his friends. Well that wasn't funny. "I think about friends a lot too." She said with a small smile before taking another bite of her meal.

Harvey nodded "Yeah you got me good.. well you tricked me this time.. I actually thought you were serious" he chuckled "No worries.. I always play a good sports game" he chuckled .. and smiled when she remembered that he had a girlfriend.. though she wasnt at fault alone.. in a way he had kind of forgotten her too.. maybe cause it had been a while since they had hung out.. he chuckled "Yeah I guess you could.. but you wouldnt do that to me! I mean we were to do it to other people" he chuckled a little.. yeah other people.. although he DID want to know if Ella had someone besides a friend on her mind.. why did he want to know? he had no idea.. he looked at Ella and nodded "Yeah I guess we both do" he said as he watched her take a bite.. he did the same.. what had happened so suddenly? they were just having a laugh and now this.. what was happening here.. probably just nothing.. he looked around the hall "Hey maybe we could GUESS who they are thinking of.. if they come in groups it would be easier" he suggested with a smile.. just to replace that silence with something.

Ella smiled at Harvey, happy to have successfully tricked one person at Hogwarts. She had kind of tricked Edric once too though she hadn't meant to. Maybe that one didn't count. The second year couldn't help but laugh when Harvey said she wouldn't tease him. That was sort of a lie as she had been teasing him quite a bit but she knew what he meant. "Right. Other people. Got it." She said with a firm nod of the head, giving him a small smile. And then things got awkward and quiet. Why had it suddenly become awkward and quiet again? They were friends, yeah? Friends were supposed to be able to sit in silence without being uncomfortable, right? So why was Ella frantically racking her brain for something to say to her friend? Boy was growing up confusing. And boys, they were confusing too. Being friends with boys was confusing. Sigh. The blonde's smile returned at Harvey's suggestion. She nodded. "Good idea. Her, over there-" She said quietly, pointing to a small girl down the table from them. "I bet she's thinking about her parents."

Harvey smiled as she agreed to try this thing on other people rather than each other.. cause it would be weird to try and read each other.. maybe awkward too.. and that was something he didnt want in this friendship.. awkwardness in friendships was never a good thing. "Yeah.. its better to do others I think.. might be more entertaining" and less weird he finished in his head.. and suddenly there was silence.. why was there silence? silence wasnt good sometimes.. it was becoming a little uneasy this silence between them.. had they suddenly run out of things to talk about?... oh what she must be thinking right now.. NO! that was something he didnt want to know.. or did he? NO! he didnt!! luckily he had put forward a suggestion to break this silence and she had agreed to it.. and that smile had returned to her face.. she started off this new thing that he had started.. Harvey looked at the girl in question.. and nodded "Yeah I think she is.. good one Ella!" he chuckled.. he then looked around the room.. it was his turn.. his eyes then fell on a boy that seemed to be dreamily staring into space.. just sitting there absent-mindedly playing with his food "That boy there.. thinking of a girl he likes.. maybe.. see how he is not interested in his food.. seems to be in some sort of a trance" he chuckled.. yup.. that boy liked a girl.. thats how he used to be.. not wanting to eat or anything when he had someone on his mind

Ella nodded. It would probably be more interesting reading others. Plus, it would make things less complicated. Not that they were only-things seemed different today for some reason. They seemed different. Probably because they were both sitting in silence, yeah? Why was that again? But hey, they had something to talk about now, right? Right. And good thing too. Ella couldn't take the silence much longer. She gave Harvey a small smile when he enjoyed her scenario for the little girl in question. "You can tell because she looks sad and lonely. I bet she wants her mom." Not that Ella would know anything about such things. She didn't need her mom. Nope. Not at all. Anyways...The second year turned to check out Harvey's choice. Oh yeah, that boy did look like he was dreaming about someone or something. She looked at Harvey curiously after he spoke. "Do boys really do that? I mean the whole not eating thing when they're thinking of who they like?" That was so weird! Eating was the best thing ever.

Harvey smiled as he looked at Ella as there was a little silence between them, why did he want them to both keep talking and not have any silence? He was disliking the silence right now, why?! what was different about today? Today things seemed strange, not like they used to be and he wondered why it seemed that way. He then looked at the girl that Ella was talking about and nodded "Yeah you are right, she does seem that way. Yeah maybe" he smiled a llittle as he continued looking at the girl and then shifted to the boy that he was talking about.. he then looked at Ella as she asked him about boys not eating when deep in thought of someone "Weellll.. I dont know about other boys, but... when I was thinking about someone I liked.. I would often forget that I am here to eat and get lost in thought." he said smiling a little.. and suddenly becoming a little shy.. he couldnt believe he had just said that to Ella, and why was he feeling strange about telling a FRIEND what he did when he was deep in thought. Afterall friends talked about this kind of stuff, yeah? so why was this weird? He didnt know what was going on, he was starting to become confused and really wanted to know what was going on.

What was this? No one was protesting with her? Amelia would have been put out by that fact if she wasn't still concentrating on screaming her cause at he top of her lungs like some lunatic protesting fool. Well that was what she was today after all.

She pumped her sign up and down sweat starting to drop down her neck and onto the plates below her some even falling into the unsuspecting students cups. Poor fools still drinking their unclean cups of juice. And no house elf would be aloud near to fix it. No she was adamant on that noone would use those brilliant creatures for personal gain ever again not on her watch!

Ella waited patiently for Harvey's answer, placing her elbows on the table in front of her and resting her chin in her hands. Boys and the things they do was a subject the second year was quite interested in. Even more than Care of Magical Creatures. She smiled encouragingly when he started to share his own experience. "You do? Well that's-interesting." She said thoughtfully, eyeing his plate of half-eaten food. "So you're thinking about Ameliah, yeah?" She asked, pointing at his plate with her fork. He had asked for that one, after telling her and all.

Harvey nodded "Er... yup I do" he chuckled.. it was strange how that seemed to happen a few tmes and now it seemed to have stuck. He then looked at her confused until she pointed to his plate.. thats when he put it all together.. and chuckled a little rubbing the back of his head nervousily "Yeah I.. I guess I am" he smiled.. ok that was a lie, she hadnt entered his mind since they mentioned her not long ago. So why was his plate still half full, and suddenly he wasnt hungry anymore. What was all this... this strange thing going on, maybe he needed to be checked and since Ameliah and Mins knew him well maybe he should ask them if they knew what was wrong with him. "Well you got me! I guess I should have expected that after telling you one of my experiences" he smiled looking at her as he ran his hand through his hair nervousily out of habit, he did that almost everytime he was nervous. Question was why was he nervous, he was with a friend eating together and just having a nice chat so why all of a sudden was he feeling nervous as if he was hanging out with her for the first time ever and wanted to make a good impression.

Ella grinned at Harvey, knowing he didn't quite get what she had meant. She watched, amused, as it seemed to slowly dawn on him that he hadn't eaten much of his food. Heh. Caught you. She nodded when he admitted he had been thinking of Ameliah. Of course he had. She was his girlfriend. Who else would he be thinking of? She laughed when he said she got him. "Yup. I did. And you did ask for it." She said, nudging him in the arm playfully. She watched him curiously as he ran his hand through his hair. What was that? Was he nervous or something? Boys did that when they were nervous! That was one thing Ella knew about them. But why was Harvey nervous? "You okay, Harvs?" She asked, eyebrows raised. She hoped he wasn't mad or something!

It was a bit late but he realised that this not-eating thing Ella found interesting.. yes thats the word she used.. "Er.. Ella going back to what you said earlier.. you said that it was interesting.. what did you mean by that? What is interesting about me not eating?" he asked her as he wondered how that was interesting.. and yet he was still not eating. He chuckled and nodded as she nudged his arm "Yeah I guess I did ask for it by telling you that, don't know what made me tell you that" he smiled as he looked at her.. well she had asked if boys did that.. but what had made him tell her that he did that. Harvey hadnt realised he was doing his 'I am nervous' routine.. he only realised that he was doing it.. "Er.. yeah I am ok.. I guess I didnt realise that you would catch me so quickly when I told you .. thats all" he smiled.. was he ok? what was his nervous routine for.. he pushed this all out of his head.. he had many questions and no answers so no point in thinking about it all the time.

Ella raised an eyebrow. He wanted to know why his comment about the not eating thing was interesting? Why did she think that? Hm. "Well I guess I think it's interesting because firstly, I'm never not hungry." GRIN. "And secondly...well I noticed she weren't eating now." Which meant he was thinking of a girl. Meaning Ameliah. Ameliah was the girl. Yup. She smiled when he agreed he'd asked to be teased. "Yup. And well we're friends, aren't we? Friends tell eachother the truth even if it's awkward or uncomfortable." At least that 's how it should be. She gave Harvey a relieved smile when he said he was okay. That was good. So he wasn't mad that he put her on the spot or anything. She took another sip of her pumpkin juice before turning to give Harvey another smile. She wish she knew what he was thinking and why he was still acting all nervous.
