As you exit the Kite Making Station, turning left and not right, you see a large open space with several objects floating in the distance. As you get closer the objects take on the shape of a dragon, a dinosaur, and a unicorn piñata floating freely in the chilly winter air. There is a long red line painted on the ground that you may not cross, but this leaves you wondering why. What do your prefects and captains have have in store for you here and just what are these piñatas stuffed to the brim with? To your right is a large white sign with thick lettering that explains it all:
'Wanna test your newly made kite's durability?
Why not test it on a piñata!?'
OOC: You may post your kite hitting one of the pinatas and breaking off small bits of it but please DO NOT post your kite breaking it open. One of us (sweetpinkpixie, Lislchen, Bubbles) will do so along with the pinatas surprise filling! Enjoy!

Standing in the middle of Lewis and Kennedy, Kurumi stretched her arms high above her head and looked up at the three very large piñatas they had constructed for the event. Hopefully everyone would enjoy destroying their hard work. Kurumi was particularly fond of the dragon piñata, for obvious reasons, but it was the surprise fillings that really had the Gryffindor excited.
Their classmates had no idea what was in store for them!
Lowering her arms, and just maybe catching Lewis' hand with one of hers, Kurumi looked at Kennedy first for a moment and then Lewis and then back up to the three piñatas in the sky. "Good work, guys," she chirped, as if she hadn't said that enough already during set up.
Hopefully their classmates would arrive soon, after they had completed constructing their kites and whatnot. Kurumi leaned forward a bit to try and take a peek at the kite making station.

Kennedy Escalante stood at the Kite Piñata station along with Kurumi and Lewis. He grinned at Kurumi when she glanced at him and then shifted his gaze at the piñatas. He hasn't smashed once since he was seven years old. These were special piñatas, though. They held interesting fillings and he couldn't wait until someone smashed it.
From the side of his eyesight Kennedy caught Kurumi holding Lewis' hand. Well...wasn't he a curly-top third wheel. He almost had the urge to hug one of the piñatas for a strange reason. It didn't matter, though, today's sole purpose was to have fun. Plus, he'd go visit Sierra later. Hehe.
He glanced back down at Kurumi when she spoke. "Yep, now we wait." People better come to their station. They worked hard and so it deserved to be a popular station. Or, he'll go and round students in.

Lingering where she stood for a moment longer, Kurumi let go of Lewis hand and walked under the dinosaur piñata's so she was covered in its shadow and simply looked up at it. Before this event she actually had no idea what a piñata was, so this particular activity held great interest to her. She sort of wanted to go make a kite herself and participate in the event...could they do that?
"Hey...you think...we should have a kite or two or three here to demonstrate?" she asked oh-so-not-obviously. Because, she really wanted to try and whack the piñatas too.

Kennedy quirked up an eyebrow. Kurumi wanted to play with a piñata? Hehe. He walked over to the dinosaur one and shook it ever so slightly. "Not a bad idea," he said, pressing his ear against the dinosaur and shaking it once more. He forgot what was inside this one. That's what he used to do when he was a child, though, back then the piñatas were too big and ended falling on him.
Honestly, though, he thought it was much more fun whacking the thing with a stick, but it was going to be interesting to see how many whacks these babies could take before they burst open. "Have any of you guys ever whacked a piñata before?" he asked, curiously. It was fun.

Oh good, so Kennedy didn't think her idea was a bit odd. That was good to know. Kurumi sort of just watched him shake the dinosaur one and tried to remember what all they had put in that one. Each one of the three had so many different items in it that it was hard to remember. Although, Kennedy probably should release that one back into the air.
"I haven't," she replied, shaking her head and glancing over at Lewis. Maybe he had? "The closest thing to this I have ever done is something called suikawari where you try to hit a watermelon on the ground blindfolded. You eat the watermelon afterwards." That had always been her favorite part because Kurumi really enjoyed watermelon, especially in the summer.

You won't be able to break it right away, but eventually you should be able to." And then everyone would be showered with the the fabulous, or not so fabulous filling. "Go ahead and give it a try."
And maybe Kurumi could borrow her kite after a little bit to give it a go herself? Maybe? Kurumi would ask later. This event was for her classmates to enjoy first.

Sarah listened with concentration to her prefects words. This was so confusing to her. "Um.. , how do you use your kite, like i did with a beaters bat to hit the piñata?" She asked, completely befuddled.

Kurumi laughed softly. Of course it sounded difficult and a bit odd, but that was the point. It was supposed to be challenging and fun. "By pulling on the string your kite is attached to," she nodded. "You need to guide your kite. Kennedy was much better at it when we practiced the other day," she continued, directing her gaze to the Slytherin. "Maybe, if you don't mind him using your kite for a moment, he could show you?"

He wasn't even going to attempt to repeat the word Kurumi just said, but the watermelon thing sounded fun. The kind of fun he'd most likely attempt when he got back home. "I want to try that," he said with a lopsided smile. He was serious though, he'd even try it with his beaters bat. "Do you do that on birthdays or just for fun?" he asked, curiously. Piñatas were usually used on birthdays.

Kennedy grinned at the young girl Kurumi addressed as Sarah. So she knew how it was to whack a piñata. Hmm. Maybe he wouldn't be the only one here that did, since with Sarah it made two of them. Kennedy allowed Kurumi to explain the basics while he moved away from the dinosaur piñata. The last thing he wanted was to get poked by a kite. Then he'd be the Piñata Prefect. Hehe.
Then he approached both girls when he heard his name. Kennedy had had a lot of fun when they practiced. He actually wanted to do it again. "I could show you, if you'd like," he grinned at Sarah.

Sure, Sierra was scheduled to be stationed at the Kite Flying Station, but seeing as there was currently no one over there in need of assistance, a little walk across the grounds wouldn't hurt a soul, now would it? She just so happened to end up at the Kite Pinata Station.
Wonder why? Hmm?
Oh, look at that! She just so happened to wander on up to Kennedy's station. Imagine that. He was busy, though, so she just ended up leaning against a tree, one foot propped against it and the other on the ground, as she just watched him with a grin. She'd interrupt when he wasn't helping somebody.
Kennedy nodded with a grin and took the kite from Sarah. Inside, he was like an eight year old kid on his birthday back in the States, ready to whack a piñata silly. He stepped away from dragon piñata and said, "First, you want to get your kite into the air and learn to steer it" he said.
He ran through the empty field space and allowed the string to unravel as he went along. When the kite was up in the air he glanced back at the girls. "Now, since it's up in the air, steer the kite toward the piñata. You want to pull the line/string in the direction you want your kite to go and yank it when it's close to the piñata." The kite was hovering next to the dragon, so he demonstrated by yanking the string toward him which in result made the kite's pointy end hit the piñata. He didn't hit it too hard, that was for the students to do and get showered with...stuff.
At the corner of his eye he caught an approaching figure and instantly recognized who that was. The corner of his lip tilted into a tiny grin. He sees you, Sierra Greingoth.
Shaking his head slightly, Kennedy returned to what he was doing. Had she seen him running around like a child? Hehe.
He turned to Sarah and handed her back her kite. "Basically, just pull the string of your kite in the direction you want it to go, but not too harshly or the line will break, and whack the piñata as hard as you can." That should be fun, right? Right!
Kennedy then turned to Kurumi and said, "Excuse me, I'll be back," he said, his eyes briefly wandering to Sierra. She had Lewis to help and he wouldn't be too far off if they needed him.

As he walked up to the tree Sierra stood under Kennedy couldn't help to hide his smile. He had been planning on visiting her at her station, but she beat him to it. "Hey," he said, standing just a foot away from her. "I guess great minds think alike, eh?" he grinned, though, he guessed she wouldn't know what he was talking about. Or, maybe she would.

Sierra was content to stand there and watch all the action, at least for a little while, but it was much better to have Kennedy strolling over to talk to her. She'd long since lost the awkwardness she'd once had around him. She'd accepted the fact that she had a crush on him, which might just be because he was showing an interest, as well.
Or, at least, that's what it seemed to her.
"They do?" she asked, still leaned against the tree. "You mean to tell me I could have saved that entire walk around the lake and just waited until you came around?" She smiled. Of course she wasn't serious. "I'm just kidding. I was actually glad to get away. Milton Shacklebolt was there...just to brag about his team winning, I think." idiotic boy. "I was either going to have to leave or crush his arm with my bat for a second time."
...and she really didn't feel like serving a detention just for Milton Shacklebolt.

"Unfortunately, yes," he said with a dramtic sigh. "I guess I'll have to make it up to you." And of course, he didn't mind at all. It was weird how she elicited his funny side that wasn't so funny. His smile faltered the slightest when she mentioned Milton's name, and might of have wrinkled his nose a little. He disliked that guy with a passion.
He did have to smile when she added wanting to harm the guy. Something about that attracted him to her even more. It was hot. She wasn't afraid of beating a guy. Which he would make sure to remember and not get on her bad side. Not that he was planning to, anyway. "You could have crushed his arm and claimed it was an accident," he shrugged, a playful smile dancing on his lips. She could have "accidentally" collided with him or something.
He wondered if she knew of what went down in Lafay's office a few days ago, and if not he would tell her...just, would this be the right place to do so?

Sierra laughed playfully at his first reply. UGH. She probably sounded like a girly girl, and she'd never been too fond of becoming one of those. Kennedy Escalante did this to her, though, and in so many ways, she liked it. She liked giving him that attention and then getting his attention in return.
Was this what it was like to really have a thing for somebody? It was all so new to her.
"I guess you'll have to then," she said. "I'm sure you'll come up with something." Although, a walk to Hogsmeade, together, wouldn't be a bad start. She chose not to say that part out loud, though.
She caught the way his nose wrinkled when she mentioned Milton Shacklebolt. "Oh, don't worry," she said. "I don't have much for him either. With all that ego, there's not much room for friendship..." Again, she laughed. "Oh, it really was an accident. Out on the pitch, I mean. Next time, though, I can't promise there won't be a little careful planning behind anything I may or may not do with my bat." She playfully winked at him.
"Nevermind egotistical Ravenclaws, though," she said. "You were awesome out there..." She pointed to the area where he'd demonstrated the kite pinata. "...with that kite. Kite pinatas. Looks interesting. I'm in the regular old kite flying area." There was nothing special about it. "...and I might just be the third wheel over there with Paulie and Louisa."

He might of have stared a but while she laughed. He couldn't help it, it was too distracting, in a good way. Now, he was sounding like a sappy Hufflepuff. He wasn't the kind that expressed their feelings because he was weird with emotions, never knew how to maneuver them. Like, when he was with Aurora he didn't need much to impress her. It sort of just happened, now that he thought about it. It was different with Sierra, though, because they started out as friends and got to know each other until he realized he was taken by her. Kennedy wasn't used to analyzing his romantic feelings, but this felt nice.
"Oh, I will," he said with a wink. His brain went to work immidiately. There were so many things they could do at Hogwarts, but none of them were nice enough for Sierra. There was one place that wasn't the castle...that could work. He'd plan it better later.
Merlin, it was as if she had answered that unasked question at the very back of his head. Were Milton and her friends? Nope, and that made him happy. "M'hm..." he nodded, agreeing with the part about Milton's ego. "...and he can't be trusted," he added. Milton had already proved to be a devious little monster. He chuckled at her next statement. "And with that mean beaters arm of yours everyone should run," he said, jokingly, as if it was the utmost truth.
Kennedy followed her gaze and grinned sheepishly. If he had known she was coming over he would have whacked the piñata harder, heh. He moved to stand next to her and leaned against the tree. "Thanks. We should make a kite and even whack a piñata, if you're interested." Might as well them have some fun too, right? He glanced over to where the kite flying area was from afar and squinted his eyes, though, he could see perfectly. It was mostly out out habit now that he wasn't wearing his glasses anymore. "Don't worry, I'm third wheeling here too," he said, nodding his head at his station.
Of course, they weren't being all lovey dovey and incorporated him in everything, but the feeling was still there. HE wanted his own wheel.

The kite danced merrily in the breeze, then it was yanked to the left and then to the right, who done that, wondered Sarah, then she realized it was here, she had moved the string. She then went behind the pinata of the unicorn and pulled the kite closer and 'yank' her kite hit the unicorn.

This sort of just sealed the deal. Sierra Greingoth didn't just have a crush on Kennedy Escalante. She had a thing for him. Just what that thing was, she couldn't explain, but whatever it was just drew her to him. The innocence in her wanted to get embarrassed at the thought of liking this boy, but the soon-to-be sixteen-year old inside her reminded her that her first boyfriend was way overdue.
Wait...boyfriend?
She was going to get way over her head if she kept allowing herself to think that way. For all she knew, she was just another prefect in the school to Kennedy.
She winked back at him. "Then I'll hold you to that," she said. She'd probably know then how he felt about her. If he actually took her somewhere where they could hang out, she had a shot. If he just wanted to hang out and do patrol duties, though...well, she might still have a chance then. This was all so confusing.
She narrowed her eyes at him. "Sounds like you've had a Milton encounter of your own," she said. Then she turned in the direction she'd seen Milton. It was all the way across the lake, though, so she couldn't see a thing. Then she laughed once she heard his next comment. "I'm only fierce out on the field," she said. "That's what I think, at least." The last thing she needed was for Kennedy to run in fright the next time he saw her.
Then she shrugged in a 'why not' kind of way. "If you're third wheeling, and I'm third wheeling, then maybe we should just stick together," she said, eyeing him to see if he'd take her up on her offer. The prefect event didn't seem that busy. Surely the professors didn't mind if they sort of...did their own thing for a little while.

Nodding, but not following Kennedy's gaze when he said he would be right back, Kurumi instead turned her attention to Sarah who began to test out their activity. She couldn't help but feel a sense of pride that the first person to participate in their event was a lion. It brought her warm fuzzies.

Attention no where else but on Sarah's kite, Kurumi watched eagerly as the first year maneuvered her kite through the air, tugging on its string just as Kennedy had instructed her to do. See, it was a good thing she had suggested Kennedy explain. Kurumi wouldn't have been very good at this which is why she wanted to try.
*WHACK*
Sarah's kite collided with the unicorn piñata and Kurumi smiled wide. "Great job, Sarah," Kurumi applauded, noting a few bits of paper that the first year had managed to tear off with her kite. The piñata moved a bit away due to the hit, but with a little more pulling on her string she could easily hit it again. "Keep it up."
Looking around for Kennedy, and forgetting for the moment that Kennedy said he would be right back, Kurumi looked at Lewis for just a moment and felt the heat rise in her cheeks ever so slightly. She quickly looked back at Sarah, offering yet another encouraging smile, and then tried to find Kennedy....who was off to the side talking to Sierra.
Wait...didn't she have a station to run? Then again, Paulie and Louisa could surely handle things...but it looked rather crowded over at the Flying Station from what Kurumi could see. Shrugging her shoulders, Kurumi's attention went back to Sarah. Hopefully they would finish their conversation and then go back to what they were supposed to be doing...
That, and hopefully more students would make their way over to this activity. One lonely lion tackling the piñatas wouldn't get too much accomplished. Team work was needed.

"Cool, can I try it again?" asked Sarah. She did anyways, the unicorn again, they were the most beautiful creatures. Repeating the procedure her kite hit the unicorn again!

He nodded with a grin. Kennedy wasn't experienced with the ladies, but he knew what he wanted, and Sierra Greingoth was on that list. Thank goodness he wasn't insecure of himself or he'd be wondering like crazy if he had a shot. He's noticed the signs, he was, after all, a guy and as one he noticed the signs. It was all about the timing, though. What if she didn't want to go out on a date here? Well, he'd have time to mule over it later.
Kennedy nodded again, raising an eyebrow at her narrowed eyes and then relaxing them. He wasn't sure if to tell her EVERYTHING that happened because more than half of it wasn't his story to tell. Plus, he didn't like gossip. So, he'd just tell her his side. "We've clashed before..." he shrugged, "...since then we don't get along." That was fairly accurate. Though, every time he saw the Ravenclaw he felt like punching his face in. Boys. At her next comment he chuckled and settled with a grin. "Oh, you're fierce alright." She was, in a very nice way, though. "It looks nice on you." Because he wasn't so much into the "princess in distress" type of girls. He liked them to have attitude. He liked fierce.
The Prefect didn't even have to think twice about that, but he kept it cool. "When it slows down we should go," he said. He caught Kurumi looking their way. Yeah, yeah. He'll compromise with her so each could take a break. "I'll go to your station this time." He flashed her a playful smirk. They could even go get a bite to eat.
Before Kurumi turned away he sent her a small wave. He did say he'd be back, but he didn't say when, though, he was still keeping an eye on Sarah from here.

Lea Carter was looking for action. Real fun, you know? None of these people around her seemed to know how to have real fun so she was going to show them how to!!! Taking her super wild red dragon kite the dark haired Gryffindor girl approached where a small crowd seemed to gather.
First she eyed everyone there, trying to understand what they were doing there. Hah! Maybe she would let her dragon eat them all but...before that she wanted to have fun. Then her dragon could eat them.
''What are YOU ALL doooing here?''
Answer her RIGHT NOW or she was going to let her dragon eat them all!!
