Large quantities of food are spread before you. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the Hogwarts' house elves are the best in the world. The food is superb and the company is as well.

The house poem, penned by All4oliverwood:

Get up off of your seats
Ready for some fun?
You ain't seen nothin' yet
For this years just begun
Friends are rollin' in
It's faces old and new
Nothing comes between us
Dear Gryffindors be true
Outside of the castle
Ready for things to fly
Lions are soaring strong
In a game that's do or die
On this autumn night
Near the crimson fireplace
Solid friendships forming
People so full of grace
Rockin' the competition
In a race for the house cup
Doing everything we can
Earning points to keep us up
Reeling for a win
Us Lions gettin' it done
Loyality guiding us through

Edric had returned his attention to Witsy now, and was about to ask the girl if she had any more questions, since she seemed so intent on examining every hair poking out of his head, but then the girl spoke.

"What?" The boy echoed what he thought. He looked around for a drink, but there was none. So no, Witsy hadn't had too much spiked pumpkin juice. "I… no." Witsy was weird. But at least she didn't seem as eager to punch him in the face as most girls he met did.

Edric would've questioned the girl about her own strange question, but his attention kept getting stolen by the silent Ella/Edrica sitting next to him. He could read the signs; the girl was in no mood to be in company anymore. She wanted out, and though he didn't feel the same way at the moment, he could relate to the feeling.

With a sigh, Edric put his goblet down and picked up his school bag from the floor, where he'd dumped it when he'd first sat down at the table. "We should get going. I have to make sure this one doesn't kill anyone on her way to the common room," said the boy to the other Gryffindor as he gestured toward Ella. Yeah, Ella was no innocent little second year anymore. She was capable of murder now.

Flashing Witsy a half-smile for the sake of manners, the Gryffindor got up to his feet and waited for Ella to find the angsty energy to pull herself up from the bench.

Witsy had done it. Edric's expression was more than words could say. Witsy was officially crazy. Edric was suddenly standing as he politely was making his way out. She, on the other hand, was mortified. Everything sort of hit her in a wave. Three years ago, lost friend, two years, lost boyfriend, one year boyfriend left permanently, recently no friends. Now, she didn't deserve one, now she's alone--again. She face-planted the table. Lifting her hand as if to acknowledge his leaving and saying bye. There was no way she could look at him, and Ella. For all she knew she could have indirectly insulted Ella as well.

Witsy didn't move. She decided to stay there. Maybe if she waited long enough the howler would explode and take her along with it. She wondered if there was anyway to redeem herself, but she's pretty sure she's done enough and she was in no position to come up with some plan.

Her original fear turned to embarrassment to sorrow to hate to angry--she kicked her bag and the howler stormed out in front of her face. Witsy nearly fell backwards before it wailed: "WISTERIA ANN HARTLY," great just what she needed. "...YOUR FATHER AND I ARE ABSOLUTELY INFURIATED. YOUR SISTER IS A MUTE AND IT'S YOUR FAULT. WISTERIA WHATEVER THE CAUSE OF THIS IS, YOU BETTER FIX IT. NOW!" The howler ripped up in front of her. She was shocked to say the least. My sister, a mute? It was only a gag. She wrapped her arms over her head as if blocking out all sound. She mumbled a few words and hopefully that did the trick. If not, she would receive a new howler no doubt.

Jade Skidmoore walked into the Great Hall, swinging her hair from left to right, almost acting like she owned the castle. She didn't, obviously, but she'd like to think so. She walked over to the Gryffindor house table and took a seat. Was she hungry? No, Jade Skidmoore was never hungry, she just was...in the mood for food. Yes, that was it.

The seventh year took a look at the food before her and looked at everyone else around her. She hated it when people watched her eat, it made her feel awkward. So she took a look around and grabbed a cookie and took a bite out of it. Yum, chocolate chip.

Tag walked down to the Great Hall because eating always made him feel better. And even if he wasn't hungry, which would be ironic for him, just staring at the food filled him up. When he was about to take a seat at the Gryffindor table he saw a much older looking girl there eating a cookie.

"Whoa! Slow down there, you don't want to choke on the crumble." Tag told her in a sarcastic but funny voice.

You eating," Tag told her bluntly, whether she wanted to know it or not.

Blondie? No one has ever called him that name. He wondered why. Slowly he looked up at his hair and saw why she had called him that, "Oh, because of my hair. Well, if you're gonna call me blondie, might as well go with Lassie. Blondie reminds me of the dog. Don't know why, just does." And now with another question. Seriously, something was up with this girl. Like she needed to know everything about him "Yeah, I am in Gryffindor-I'm a first year, actually, Tag." The young leprechaun introduced himself to the girl with a hand outstretched towards her.

Penelope's frown returned though at the next question Anya asked. Not because she was offended or upset by her asking it or anything, of course. It just wasn't a very happy subject, discussing her grandparents in any form. "I don't really have anywhere else to live," she replied with a small shrug. "My parents are dead, and I'm not really old enough to have my own house." That wasn't to say she couldn't live on her own...because she could. But she'd done that for the past few years, and it wasn't exactly easy or particularly enjoyable. "They're the only family I have who are able to keep me." They had a gigantic house after all, which made it easier for her to stay there while at the same time allowing them to pretend she wasn't there, and vice versa.

She pushed a grape around her plate. "My parents are dead too. Well... my mum is. I assume my dad too." But she didn't really know. It was all stuff she'd been told.

She was only eating and she made it look like if this were a crime. "I won't tell anyone." He responded with an odd look. "Why is eating like..a crime for you?" And he thought he was a weird specimen.

"I like blondie. I mean, I am a blonde. In case you haven't noticed." IN all honesty, Tag didn't care what nickname he received as long as no one thought of "Little irish Man" or that person would have to consult another Gryffindor. "I might've seen you, most likely, surprisingly enough-you don't seem very familiar." The Irish man said with a casual shrug and half crooked smile. "Quidditch-probably not. Too busy watching my Gryffindor Girls on the field to pay much attention to anyone else. Sorry."

She nodded. "Yeah. She... she didn't even get the chance to name me." It was one of the village elders that took her in and named her. "My dad wasn't with my mom. So... I just... assume that he passed on before she did. They were just poor travelers and sick."

Which was still a problem in the rural East.

"I was there until I was three. I was kind of considered bad luck... so I didn't get out much." She played with a lone grape on her plate with the end of her fork. It was weird thinking about life back then.

Jade laughed a little as Tag put his hands up in the air. She grabbed one of his arm and gently put it down. "Sorry, I didn't mean to make it seem like a big deal." She blushed. "It's not like a crime to me, I just feel awkward when people see me eat. It's weird, I know." It's not like it wasn't weird, but that was pretty much the only weird thing about her. Well that she knew of course. "But if you repeat that to anyone else, I'll deny it." She nodded.

Oh okay, so now he wanted, Blondie? This kid really needed to make up his mind. "Alright, Blondie it is, then. No changes." She smiled. Did she have a nickname? Skids used to be her nickname but that really wasn't one anymore. Hopefully Tag wouldn't give her one or if he did, nothing embarassing at least.

The kid told her that she didn't seem very familiar and she only shrugged. "No worries, I usually keep to myself anyhow." She said. It was true, especially since her boyfriend left unexpectedly, she just kept to herself. It wasn't like she was going to go hang out with her enemy, Selena. Tag mentioned how he paid attention to his "Gryffindor girls" as he called it and Jade tilted her head in thought. She almost felt like she heard that term before. "Wait a minute-Blondie, is one of your "Gryffindor girls" Anya Phillips?" She asked.

She shook her head no. She'd never met or even seen a picture of either of her parents.

She gave a light shrug. "Superstitious people, I guess." she said forcing a light tone. She smiled. "Thanks."

"I was adopted." she replied. "So, I've got a mum, dad, and brother." None of which were biological of course. "So, I live with them."
