Looking down at her stones once again, Sierra realized that she should really start her reading. She softly sighed to herself. It seemed like a lot of work, but...ohh, well. It wasn't like she had a choice here. So how was this done again? Just listing the weeks, combining those sharing a stone, and then interpret based on what the stone meant? It sounded easy enough, even though it sounded like a lot of work. No sense in holding off. She didn't know how long this would take, and who knew when the activity would end... Week 1: The stone present in this section is the Saturn stone. This stone stands for longevity, protection, and purification. It's not exactly pointing to anything. If anything, it just looks like a blob. So I don't think it really leads to anything but more or less stresses that in the weeks to come, I'll be protected from any dangers or possible threats. I think it also means that things will clear to me, and there won't be any struggles for quite a while. Week 2: The stone present in this section is the Venus stone. This stone stands for love, fidelity, and happiness. The strange thing is that this is a pointer, yet it doesn't really seem to be pointing to anything. Maybe the fire or sun stone, but I'll get into that later. Anyway, maybe this means that all will be right and happy with those that I love. This would be my family, of course. I don't think I've grown to love anyone else yet. I also think we'll be happy in whatever our life path leads us to. Week 3: The stone present in this section is the Universe stone. This stone stands for our place in the grand scheme of things, on a cosmic level. What's a cosmic level anyway? I'm not sure, but either way, I at least know what it means to find your place in the grand scheme of things. This stone is also a pointer, and it's pointing back up to the last section, which was Venus. I think what it's trying to tell me is that through love and happiness, I'll find my place in the grand scheme of things. Maybe through the love and support of my family. Week 4: There's no stone present in this section. I guess it'll just be a low-key week where I can maybe reflect on the last few weeks or look ahead to what might come. Week 5: The stones present in this section are the Air stone and Earth stone. The Air stone stands for wishes, hopes, dreams, and inspiration. The Earth stone stands for security of home, family, and friends. An important thing to look at here is that both stones are pointers and are pointing toward one another. I think, again, that this all goes back to the fact that a lot of my stone readings are pointing out the fact that I can succeed with the love and support of my family. I think this section is telling me that by surrounding myself with those I love, I can fulfill all the goals I've set my mind to. Week 6: The stone present in this section is the Fire stone. This stone stands for passion, willpower, and outside influences. This isn't a pointer stone, but earlier, I mentioned that the Venus stone may be pointing toward it. Venus stands for stands for love, fidelity, and happiness. If the stones are pointing toward one another, it could mean that relationships with others, I will go further in my goals and endeavors, and that through their support, I will succeed. This seems to be a common theme in my reading, actually. Otherwide, if they aren't pointing together, I think it's just a reminder that through dedication and determination, I will succeed. |
Okay, so the stones were thrown and her inner eye was working so now what? ...She had to like-read them now, yeah? Well this would definitely be interesting. Ella had never done any kind of reading before so she was a little apprehensive about the whole thing. Knowing it would probably take a while to complete, the second year pulled her notes towards her and did her best to interpret what the locations the stones had fallen in meant. SPOILER!!: Ella's Work Ella honestly wasn't sure about her interpretations but she had done the best she could. Hopefully she wasn't too far off. |
Oh the drama... :P SPOILER!!: Kurumi, Professor and Louisa Gideon took out a clear piece of parchment and began drawing out the circle that was to represent the field for him to drop the stones of his set within. It took a bit of time and effort to do his best on making the circle as close to circular as he could get it and not look messy. The cross pieces were easier...first the main ones and then the secondary ones and finally he had the circle made and divided into twelve mostly equal parts. SPOILER!!: Circle Guessing now that he was done with the one part, he should actually throw the stones to cast them and see what came up. The prefect scooped them up into his one hand and shook them up a little to try and mix things up a bit then taking a deep breath he let them go over the parchment circle most of them landing within but a couple seemed to have missed the outline. Oh well...didn't seem to bad for his first try. Gideon briefly glanced between his list of stones and his cast ones but his attention was then turned elsewhere. SPOILER!!: Cast Stones He looked over as Professor Elwood exclaimed drawing attention to Kurumi. Except the woman apparently believed his fellow prefect was having a divination experience which Gideon wasn't so sure thats what it was. Selina was the seer...not Kurumi and he had even witnessed one of her own experiences. Not to mention Kurumi had been acting weird at times throughtout the term, blanking out at times much like this one. "Um...professor. Not that I doubt its possible." Having seen it. " But I'm not sure thats what it is..." Gideon spoke up getting hesitantly to his feet and debating moving closer to his friend. Hopefully the professor wouldn't think he was simply an unbeliever be a bit more open minded that it might be something else. At least the Ravenclaw prefect Louisa seemed to be unsure of things as well. |
SPOILER!!: Professor Zhenya spent a few minutes spreading her stones on the table and 'getting to know them', although she had no idea what to do. She looked at them and thought that they were pretty, but that didn't mean much, did it? She made up a board for herself to use, and divided it into 12. She watched in amazement as the Professor layed her stones on her board and knew what they meant. How did that happen? Zhenya raised an eyebrow and rolled her stones onto her circle board to see what would happen. SPOILER!!: Table She didn't know what it all meant, so following the example from the board she wrote down where her stones were and decided to go from there. She was confused because most of her stones decided to land in the divides of the weeks. Quote:

Professor Elwood and all you overly worried people :3 Kurumi's vacant eyes continued to stare at the rocks on the table. It really didn't matter where Kurumi was looking to be entirely honest. She could have been looking up at the ceiling or straight into someone's eyes, the look would have been the same. Empty. Kurumi didn't even hear Professor Elwood's announcement of her being in the beyond. She wasn't really anywhere, besides physically being in her seat, so one could almost argue that she was beyond The Beyond. Kurumi's body may have mood slightly at Louisa's touch, but that was not of the Gryffindor's own doing but rather the force of the poke. Staying this way for several more uncomfortable moments - at least to those observing her - it was almost uncertain as to whether or not Kurumi was actually breathing. She was just THAT frozen. Kurumi blinked suddenly, but showed no sign of feeling uncomfortable. In fact, Kurumi simply looked at her stones, blinking a few more times, and then picked up her quill to begin writing down her analysis of her spread. SPOILER!!: Kurumi's parchment Kurumi decided that she needed a small break before moving on to Week Five, which had two stones and therefore would require a bit more "Is there something wrong?" she asked innocently. Professor Elwood looked as though she were about to burst and, well, Louisa and Gideon were looking like they had just seen someone kick a cruppy or something of that sort. |
SPOILER!!: Responses to Student Progress After finishing helping some nearby students, Professor Elwood turned back to the happy event taking place, Kurumi accessing her true potential as a Seer! In Callie's very own Divination class! SPOILER!!: Gideon, Louisa, and Kurumi SPOILER!!: Gideon, Louisa, and Kurumi "Is it normal to freeze?" Did she seriously just ask her that? Calista Elwood was a Seer herself and she would know if these things were supposed to happen or not! ..... Shoot. "Well, technically visions are not always performed by Seers in a uniform way but this may be her own way. We just need to see if she begins to project her Sight vocally to us." Calista looked at Kurumi expectantly, waiting for something, anything to come from the girl. Nothing. Before she could do anything the Ravenclaw Prefect poked the entranced girl and the Gryffindor male prefect joined them, doubting too, that Miss Hollingberry was a proper Seer. Like he would know, Professor Elwood was teaching the blasted subject. But before she could say anything else, Kurumi unfroze and continued to work as if nothing had happened and then looked at them to ask if something was wrong. O___________o "Dear, are you alright?" She asked the girl, still secretly hoping what had just happened was indeed a vision. "Oh, nevermind. It's nothing. Miss Carter and Mister Gert back to your desks to finish your work or to wait for me to check it." She didn't need another fiasco in this lesson which seemed to happen alot at Hogwarts. She might have to bring up what had just happened though with another Professor. Callie just didn't like that it sort of reminded her of when Max had fallen from his broom during that last Quidditch match. |
It seemed that his missing stones...four to be exact as the professor pointed out, were more important then he had himself made it out to be. The woman herself looking for them as if they had simply vanished. "Sorry Professor...nae they didn't," Gideon replied opening his hand to reveal them. "They had landed outside the circle so I just cleared them off the desk." A simple enough explanation and one that was entirely true. With their attentions then both on Kurumi, Gideon waited on the next move, taking a few short steps closer to his fellow prefect but then stopping again. The boy listening to Professor Elwood explain a few things about visions and the like. And then Kurumi snapped out of whatever it was giving him at least some relief in the matter though far from totally okay with it. He was about to answer her question when the older woman did instead before telling him and Louisa to return to their seats. Gideon obeyed, not wanting to get in trouble, returning to his seat and his class project. His remaining stones in hand, he debated what to do before finally casting the last 4 once more so they could join their brethren. There...all there and within the circle. Making note of where they all lay, he went to work on the first few weeks of predictions. SPOILER!!: Corrected Cast and Legend Quote:

When Professor Elwood dismissed the other two, Kurumi sort of just looked at them. Erm, right...and why was Louisa seemingly showing concern for her? THAT was the weird thing about this situation. Forget Professor Elwood asking if she was alright, Louisa actually looked concerned. "I should probably get back to my reading," she said with a small smile. It wouldn't be too much longer until the lesson was over anyway. With that, Kurumi's attention was back on the stones on her table. Where had she left off? Oh, right. SPOILER!!: Kurumi's parchment Meh, guess work. That is what this was. Still, Kurumi's attention was drawn to a particular week, the one where she had tried to cross out a certain something and her heart began to pound in her chest as another thought crossed her mind. "P-Professor?" Kurumi asked as she raised her hand. "When do these readings apply? I mean, since we casted these today, does today mark the beginning of week one?" |
Having problems uploading chart :/ But will keep trying After studying where his stones had landed, Jory began writing out his predictions. He found them to be quite fun. If some would come through, he'd have some great weeks ahead. SPOILER!!: "Jory's Predictions |
Alyssa looked at her circle again. SPOILER!!: Alyssa's circle of 13 After studying where the stones fell and reading over what each stone represented, Alyssa began writing down what she thought the stones that she had dropped in the circle represented for her. SPOILER!!: Alyssa's interpretation of the circle of 13 stones Now that she was done, Alyssa sat back and rubbed her forehead. Her headache was getting worse. |
I think we might stick with Stella being confused as to the interpretations Text Cut: Professor Elwood (LOL at her excitementover Kurumi) Honestly, Stella was torn as to whether or not she really wanted to try and cast her stones for a reading. She didn't want Professor Elwood to think she was refusing, but she was a little afraid of the interpretations part of a reading. It was just like Runes and Arithmancy. She was comfortable with most of the work, but trying to decide what it meant just confused her, even if she'd managed to answer a few of the discussion questions surprisingly correctly. Plus, she kept getting distracted anyhow, between Paulie's technicolor pants and then whatever was going on with Kurumi. The first thing they'd been told was to clear their mind, and it took her a few moments to even start to manage that. At least using some string to set up the field on her desk took up a bit of the slack. It made her feel like she got something accomplished, and taking a moment to focus on the most calming thing in her mind (seeing Matt again at the holidays), she slipped her stones back out of their bag and held them in a fist as she finally cleared even that thought out. Once her mind was clear, or maybe a tiny bit foggy but nothing specific was coming through, she slowly held the hand holding her stones out over the center of her field, a foot or two above the tabletop. Luckily, the clatter that occurred as they hit the wood barely made her flinch, after so many others had already cast around her. SPOILER!!: casting What does it mean if stones are overlapping sections?, she wondered silently, even as she slid a piece of parchment down to at least record the placements, and maybe some thoughts. She was still not entirely sure about if she'd get interpretations right away, but at least she'd have something written down. Maybe the professor would let her mull over her interpretations for a while longer. Text Cut: notes |
project her Sight vocally to us? Call Louisa mad but she was sure Kurumi wasn't projecting anything, basically because she was silent. Kurumi always projected stuff by talking. The Ravenclaw though watched the professor intently looking at the Gryffindor's face, and gave her a questionable look. Before Louisa could elaborate more on the subject though, Kurumi unfroze and casually went on with her work. Blink blink. However, the fact that the professor just dismissed the issue all of a sudden was more questioning. Louisa frowned confusedly before stuttering, "B-but she just..." Grrr. They were asked to go back to their seats. HMPH. The Ravenclaw took another look at her fellow Gryffindor...not exactly knowing what her face resembled; concern? curiosity? disappointment? suspicion? All of the above? Dragging her feet back to her desk Louisa plopped down on her chair, crossed her arms and continued to stare at Kurumi from where she sat. Why would someone freeze for a couple of moments, then unfreeze and continue with their life as if nothing happened? |
Indy didn't think she was going to be very good at this. She wasn't very good at clearing her mind. She was a rather imaginative girl, so clearing her mind of her extensive thoughts was going to be rather difficult. Or so she believed anyway. The girl shrugged though, and drew a cirlce on a parchment, dividing it into 12 sectors. It was going to be interesting. She hoped it would be okay. That she'd be able to clear her mind effectively. They were only practicing though, and Indy knew she was no seer, so she didn't really think she was going to get much out of this. It was fun though. She enjoyed the lesson, and the professor was pretty cool. Okay. Her circle was drawn now. With a smile, she opened the bag, and got her 13 stones out. She held them in her hands carefully, not wanting to drop any. Now was the time to clear her mind. Indy closed her eyes, taking a couple of deep breaths. She didn't really know if it was working. Because she didn't want to think about clearing her mind, because then her mind wouldn't be clear. Okay. Mind clear as it could be. She counted down to three, and then carefully cast her stones. She tried not to throw them too hard. She didn't want them landing on the floor or something. Once she'd done that, she opened her eyes and saw where they had laid. Ahh. Interesting. Now she just needed to start to interpret them. SPOILER!!: stone casting parchment thing |
Sarah began her notes by first observing which stone dropped where: SPOILER!!: placements notated The s pointer thing bothered her. WWhat if the pointer stone was an equalateral triangle. Where did it point? She decided to ask trhe professor. "Professor, what if my pointer stone is an equalateral triangle, as in the case of my saturn, jupiter and vebus stones"? she enquired. She then took out her note book and began finding the meanings of each stone. SPOILER!!: her reference |
Well Nigel was at least a little happy that his chart/wheel was not that bad. So now all he had to do was his interpretations for each week. So he took out a quill and some parchment and start his assignment. SPOILER!!: Nigel's Interpretations Nigel was finally done and was a little confused, but satisfied that he finished his interpretations. |
Now. Indiana really wasn't too sure how interpretations. Indy wasn't too good at interpeting things. Because she was going to give it a go anyway. Because she liked it. Hmm. The blonde noted down which stones were in which bit of the circle. That way if she knocked them she would've known where they had been. There was a couple of sections with no stones in, and that kind of made Indy confused. What was she supposed to do with those sections. Oh well. It seemed her throwing skills were good, because nobody was overlapping either. Now she just needed to get through the interpreting stage. Her tongue sticking out the corner of her mouth a little, Indy set to intepreting each section of the circle SPOILER!!: Indy's parchment Indy kind of frowned a little as she looked at her interpretations. She wasn't sure if they any good. But this was the first time that she had done this. Hopefully the professor would come and tell her how she had done. And she was only little. She could only learn right? |
Quote:
"That's right. The beginning of week one starts the second you cast your coins so keep an eye on these interpretations because you should hopefully see events relative to them in the upcoming weeks." Callie nodded and smiled after looking at the girl curiously for a minute. She was fine. Quote:
Walking over to her desk, Callie leaned down as if helping her with her stones and said spoke quietly to her. "Come see me in my office after the lesson is over, alright." They could talk about what had happened. Quote:
The girl had chosen some of the hard to read ones! "Well that means that each point that is pointing at another stone calls for your to interpret what the connect between those two stones means." So needless to say more work for her and a slightly more complicated reading. |
Sarah brow furried and she wrote some more. Quote:

Taking each of her stones she felt them and noticed the colors! She had a black raindbow stone, three clear stones, two red ones though one was mixed with orange and yellow, and two actual orange ones though one had brown in it also, she also had two green ones, one gold one, one black and brown one, and one blue one, some were smooth and some were rough! Clear her mind, that was easier said then done, Nerida always had something on her mind! Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes and SPOILER!!: Nerida's tabletop SPOILER!!: Nerida's Notes |
Text Cut: Lily's parchment Once Lily got her stones and had returned to her seat she set to work. She carefully tossed her stones down onto her desk. She looked at them closely for a second before setting to work trying to decipher them. Text Cut: her desk...and decipherings Once Lily had finished with her predictions, she placed her quill down and looked around, waiting for the professor to come around and see how she did... especially since she really had no idea what she was doing... |
End of the lesson everyone! ^_^ Seeing that many of them were finished Professor Elwood nodded at the good work a few of the stragglers where just ending their readings and made her way back to the front of the classroom. "Alright everyone I want to thank you for working so hard today despite some small incidents," Multicolored pants coming into existance and extreme day-dreaming aka freezing but they made it to the end. "and since we are pretty much all finished I will go ahead and call the end of this lesson. You all have a great rest of the day." So they were free to go. It was time for Calista to go back to her office and take a nap once she finished speaking to students. OCC: And with this post I will no longer accept work on these readings. Good work to all those who have done well so far and keep an eye out for the homework which I shall post later today. :D |
gah catching up!!! As the Professor demonstrated, Vickers went about to do the same, pulling out the twill that would’ve tied the stone pouch shut and stretching it out into a circle on his desk. He poured the stones out of the pouch and held them in his hands, letting them roll about it between his fingers before pulling his hands apart and letting the stones fall in the circle. Just as he was about to peer into his stones the he sat up startled. Professor Elwood, standing over Kurumi, was saying something about the BEYOND. He shifted about a few times in his seat trying to figure out what was going on, even spotting a few Prefect stand and head over to where Kurumi was. He made a motion to at least stand, but the gems caught the flickering lights of the candles, playing across his face as bidding him to give his attention back to them. He turned his attention back to his desk, staring for a moment at the predominantly clustered arrangement that his casting had formed. Pulling out his textbook and laying the chapter open on his lap, he pulled his long parchment notes beside it and started to figure out a reading… SPOILER!!: the casting Quote:

The Prefect went back to staring at Kurumi her eyes squinted just a little as her mind raced... could Kurumi be really a Seer and Elwood didn't want to reveal this piece of info in front of everyone else? But then why did she shout excitedly about it? .... The class was over Ahem. |
The class was finally over but Nigel did not know what to do with the stones. He did not think he should keep them so he packed up everything, put the stones back in the pouch, and went up to the professor. It seemed like the Prefect had the same idea too. "Thanks for the lesson Professor and here is your stones" Nigel said as he handed the professor the stones. He left the room to go back to the common room to take a nap. |
For everyone really...lol Quote:
Quote:
"Oh, no you guess can keep those. You all have bonded with them and you will need them for your homework." Professor Elwood didn't need them and the precious stones weren't of the best karat so they weren't too expensive; besides Hogwarts had an extensive monetary fund that she used to get them in the first place. So yes, they got to keep their own sets. |
